Auva’s relationship dynamics: (In pact order)
Characterization notes.
Mammon:
Auva’s super attached to Mammon. He was her first friend in the Devildom as well as her first pact. She thinks of him as her best friend, her big brother, her guardian, her partner in chaos and bullshit, her safe place, her home. She LOVES him. She would kick anyone’s ass for him. She regularly scolds his brothers for being too mean to him. Mammon can’t resist big-brother-ing her, especially when she’s feeling a bit clingy.
Mammon saying she’s “his human” and “his baby” always makes her smile, because it makes her feel loved and wanted and safe. She responds to that by referring to him as “her Mammon”. It has the same effect on him. Whenever she’s scared or sad or sick, she wants Mammon.
She adores him, but can’t match his energy level. She tries, and he’s patient about it, but sometimes she overdoes it and needs to recharge. He learns to understand that, and slows down for her when he can, because he’s the best.
Mammon’s really helpful to her with math! He’s actually a living calculator! Whereas, she might have discalculia. She hates math. She insists he doesn’t do it for her though, because she genuinely wants to learn, so he has to put in the effort to actually teach her—AND reassure her that she’s not stupid, and calm her down when she gets frustrated with it. It takes a lot out of them, but it does help! He’s better at the emotional support than the explaining, but pretty capable of both, to his own surprise. Auva’s very good with written word, she is living spellcheck, so she helps him out with his own homework too by fixing all his spelling and helping him edit his essays.
His tsundere tendencies caused a bit of trouble early on, because Auva tends to take things literally and not pick up on subtext. There was a situation between the custard incident and the retreat when Mammon said something too mean out of defensiveness. Since he hadn’t said anything like that in a while, she believed him and took it hard. Mammon had to take it back, apologize, and explain himself. He learned that he HAS to be honest with her, because she will just believe what he says. It’s good for him. Good practise with admitting his feelings and thinking before he speaks.
She makes him more responsible and self-aware. She is a living reminder that he’s actually very good at being a responsible guardian figure, he’s not just some idiot who’s only good for taking roasts from his brothers. No, there is in fact someone in the family who genuinely thinks he’s awesome and would rather die than be subtle about it. He needs that.
Levi:
Auva loves Levi a lot. His room is a sanctuary for her. They bond over a shared love of video games and involvement in fandom culture. She can be as weird as she wants to be with Levi, he’ll never judge. He understands her in a way most don’t. She also doesn’t like parties and crowds and loud, bright places. She gets sensory overload and panic and depression episodes too, and she connects with him about it.
Auva absolutely revels in being Levi’s player two. It makes her SO happy.
Her mental health isn’t the greatest either, but that’s another point of connection. Their issues usually contrast with the other’s personality just right for helping each other. Levi struggles with feeling like he’s not good enough to be loved, Auva proudly flaunts her devotion for him and all her friends. Levi thinks no one cares about his interests, Auva listens happily and sometimes asks him to infodump to ground her. Auva is forgetful and has the emotional object permanence issue that makes her forget that people love her, Levi doesn’t forget a thing and insists on spending lots of time together to remind her that she’s loved. Auva feels no envy to the point of sometimes being a pushover, Levi helps with that. Auva helps Levi struggle a bit less with his envy too. They balance that way.
The main thing they don’t align perfectly about is, they’re both touch starved and enjoy contact, but Levi’s real shy and self conscious, whereas Auva is real clingy and also self conscious about that specifically. That’s a thing they have to work on together… and Levi HAS to take the lead about it, because Auva is scared to overstep.
Once they HAVE discussed it and come to an understanding, when they’re fully comfortable and open with each other, a very common thing in their interactions is like this:
Auva: (vibrating in place) “Hi Levi hi Levi!!”
Levi: (waiting for it) :)
Auva: “can i touch??”
Levi: (nods, unfolds arms)
Auva: !!! :D (launches herself at him)
Levi: …<3 (squeezes her)
Beel:
Auva ADORES Beel! She’s about as attached to him as she is to Mammon. Beel, as well, understands her on a level most don’t.
They have similar guard dog complexes. They’re both major foodies. They have the same earnest, gentle, protective disposition. They find each other refreshingly blunt and sensible. They’re both softhearted and open and introspective and understanding. They find it easy to talk to each other, to the point where they’re each other’s go-to confidant—sometimes even over Belphie (for Beel) and Mammon (for Auva). They’re emotional support besties.
When Beel feels bad but won’t talk about it because he doesn’t want to disturb anyone, Auva can pry it out of him. She gives him the same soft, worried, puppy eyes expression that HE uses to make his family (Auva included) open up to him. God demon king someone help the poor bastards that Beel and Auva team up on to get them to talk, they’re too powerful together!
(Like, an example interaction that could not happen with anyone else):
(In the kitchen at midnight, eating a snack together)
Beel: (observes Auva for a while)
Beel: (with big, concerned eyes) “…are you sad?”
Auva: (composure breaks instantly) :’(
Beel: “oh… come here, baby.”
(Auva stumbles over to Beel, crashes into him. Beel picks her up. Hugs her tight, takes her to bed and holds her for as long as it takes for her to calm down and talk to him. Listens quietly. Encourages her to fall asleep on him, then doesn’t leave once she has.) (He is PERFECT)
Their dynamic is like, big pitbull and small mouse who have adopted each other. It’s touch starved (needs to hold someone) & touch starved (needs to be held). It’s super fluffy found family. Her favourite place to sit is in his lap. He likes having her there too. They also both enjoy when Beel picks her up and carries her around. Auva wholeheartedly believes that more people should be like Beel (with less appetite though, the world can only handle one Beel sized appetite) and that’d make the world a better place. She looks up to him, trusts him, happily accepts influence from him. She takes his opinions seriously.
She only looks forward to going outside with Beel. She’s not usually a fan of outside, but with Beel it’s good because they’re either taking a nice walk somewhere quiet and peaceful, or they’re going to buy food. He motivates her to exercise too, and she’s surprised to discover that it’s fun when it’s with him. Auva makes Beel happier, and Beel makes Auva better.
Asmo:
Asmo’s first impression on Auva wasn’t great. She found him tiring, scary, and too pushy at first, but as she observed him and got to know him, she realized he meant her no harm and grew fond of his boundless bubbly energy. She saw through his facade of vanity and self-obsession pretty quick. It’s obvious to her that Asmo’s trying to cover up some fucky self esteem. His drive to be beautiful enough to be loved makes her sad for him.
She really grew to love him though! His generosity to his loved ones, his emotional intelligence, his kindness and big, caring heart, his self expression, his sugary-sweet disposition that’s on par with his raging sweet tooth… even his sharp, vicious wit. It all becomes wildly endearing to her.
After they pact, she finds out that the avatar of lust is actually pretty ace positive! He’s a good friend, too. Platonically attentive. Asmo and Auva are by far the two most affectionate people in the house, and it makes them both really happy to have someone else around who is reliably willing to provide all the love and attention they need.
Auva’s style is pretty plain and simple, her skin is sensitive and always super dry, she finds makeup to be a sensory nightmare usually, and she’s big on body neutrality. Like, she barely cares to remember what she looks like. She gives zero shits about if she might be ugly, because she wholeheartedly believes that’s not her problem since she’s not the one who is looking at her. All she cares about is being comfortable. Asmo doesn’t understand that at first, but he’s determined to spoil her anyway. He makes it work. He finds her soft clothes in colours she likes that fit her properly, he finds skincare and makeup products that feel nice, sit lightly on her skin, and don’t smell too strong. He’s careful not to go too crazy and make all this less fun and comfortable for her. Eventually, to Auva’s surprise, she finds that she… really likes the clothes, and enjoyed the spa treatment a lot. She is a bit mystified to find that she… actually feels kinda pretty? And that’s actually a nice experience?? Wild!
She never quite warms up to makeup, mostly because she doesn’t care to learn how to do it herself… and she’s sure she would constantly ruin her makeup by smushing her face against her friends when she hugs them. She’s happy to let Asmo put makeup on her on special occasions though.
Satan:
Auva gets along great with him! They’re both nerdy bookworms, they both love cats, they both take issue with unexplained orders and bad instructions and condescending assholes… they get each other.
They’re well matched in cold logic. They never genuinely fight, because Auva is good at containing her emotions too, and explaining issues very clinically BEFORE they have time to snowball into big, emotional landmines. If they ever argued, it would sound like an academic debate. Usually, if there’s any problem, there’s no argument, just negotiation.
(Example of what I mean):
Auva: hey, man. I’ve been having this issue [explains it very clinically]. If you wouldn’t mind, I would like [these adjustments]. If this isn’t possible, let’s figure out what would work instead.
Satan: Thank you for telling me. I will [make these adjustments]. I think it will be difficult to [make other mentioned adjustments], so I will consider what will work instead and get back to you.
Auva: thank you for making an effort for me. I love you :)
Satan: thank you for trusting me. I… also love you.
The two of them have a standing policy of informing the other as soon as they start to get frustrated or angry in a situation like that, BEFORE it has a chance to build. They go into different rooms to scream at the walls or write stuff down or whatever they need, then text to check on each other in 20 minutes. It’s a very effective policy! They NEVER fight with this system in place.
This unnerves the others though. It runs counter to a lot of their personalities. They get worried. Auva and Satan both find that pretty funny, which further defuses any drive to fight.
Usually though, any thought of them fighting is irrelevant. They hang out a lot! They do homework together. Satan helps with everything Mammon can’t. Auva refuses to do math with Satan because she expects that they’ll both get angry. He’s the best person to go to about magic by far.
They also watch shows together! Satan likes mysteries and high stakes dramas, Auva likes documentaries and D&D shows. There’s some overlap there, and they’re both willing to go a little out of their comfort zones to see the other happy. Auva is very sensitive to second hand embarrassment though, and she always hides in his shoulder when that comes up. He only laughs at her a little.
Auva brings her love for very poetic and lyrical music to him too. They have a lot of fun analyzing good lines together. He breaks out the poetry books and the novels he finds interesting enough to do character studies for, and they have the best time.
Auva’s favourite thing, though, is when they curl up together and he reads aloud to her. It’s comforting. She snuggles up to him and blocks out everything but the sound of his voice, his breathing, his heartbeat. The warmth of him. The relaxing smell of him: the ink, leather, and old paper vanillin smell of old books, plus the peppermint scent of tea he likes, all over the fire and ozone smell of his magic. His hand strokes her hair as he reads, only pausing to turn the page. It’s peaceful. He is peaceful, when he’s around her.
Belphie:
Belphie and Auva are really similar. They have a lot of favourites in common—astronomy, trivia, performance arts, sushi, napping, cuddling, Beel, etc etc.
They’re both sleepy and clingy and babie. Their speech patterns are a bit similar. They even dress similar! Before she got Belphie out of the attic, the others would occasionally double take just looking at her, because she reminded them so much of Belphie.
Auva got attached to Belphie pretty quick. She knew she was being lied to immediately, knew he was obviously sketchy from the start, but warmed up to him—at first because Beel misses him, but then… just for himself. She thinks he’s shaped like friend.
Auva made a point of sneaking up to the attic to see him as often as possible. To update him about her progress with the pacts, yes, but more just to… hang out with him. To update him about what’s going on with his family, to complain about Lucifer, to remind him that Beel misses him every day and that he’s loved, that no one has forgotten about him.
She feels for him, really. He must be lonely and bored. SHE wouldn’t be coping well in his position. She can’t help but grow fond of the sleepy cow guy. He’s very cute. Looks huggable… and he’s trapped ALONE, no one is hugging him!! She would NOT be doing okay if that were her! And… they’re SO similar.
She thinks he’s funny, too. His snarky sense of humour is pretty entertaining to her. She spends hours just sitting across from him, leaning against the attic door, lying down on the floor, just chatting. Vibing in silence. Humming quietly to herself, spending time keeping him company.
She slips him snacks and little items through the gaps in the door. His tail flops through sometimes, and she combs through it with her fingers. Sometimes, when he seems particularly lonely, she reaches through to hold his hand.
She got really attached to him. She cares about him a lot. So… even though she smelled danger from the moment she met him, she discarded her suspicions. Even after she learned about his hatred for humans, she felt optimistic. Even though she… had a bad feeling about opening the door… she wanted to trust him. She was excited to meet him properly! She wanted to be real friends, without the complications inherent to the situation. She wanted to see him smile and be reunited with Beel. She wanted to hug him.
…well. She got to hug him.
The recovery was long and difficult. Repairing the relationship was delicate. Tricky.
It got done, though. After all that, Belphie is… exceptionally soft with Auva. Very gentle and sweet. He won’t be a brat to her. Won’t push her or prank her or be mean or treat her roughly. He won’t even be mad when she wakes him up for no reason.
He’s almost unrecognizable to his brothers (except Beel), seeing how gentle and patient he is with her. Personally, he thinks it’s the least he can do. Just to himself, he can admit that he’s wishing to be real friends with her too.
Lucifer:
Auva’s feelings about Lucifer are… complicated. She loves him, she looks up to him, she admires him, she wants to hide behind him, she can’t help but think of him as a sort of father figure.
But also, she’s consistently frustrated with him, because she HATES when people are mysterious on purpose! She hates when people expect blind obedience, she hates condescension, she hates being confused for no good reason. She hates when people think they’re above help from those who love them.
And she DOES love him. She worries for him, too. She thinks he’s too stressed, she thinks he needs a therapist badly, she thinks he could really use a hug and a nap and perhaps a juice box, if only he weren’t too damn proud to accept them.
She tries to convince Satan and Belphie to soften their tricks on him, to just confuse him instead of stressing him out or hurting him. It works sometimes.
But also she wants to drag him down to her level by his ear and lecture him until he decides to be nicer to his brothers AND to himself.
She’s so tempted to yell at him sometimes… sometimes she can’t resist telling him what she thinks, even though she expects that it’ll piss him off. She doesn’t like fighting with any of her friends, but… sometimes she HAS to call him out on his bullshit!
Still, she loves him. More than anything, she wants to be honest with him. That’s where that frustration comes from. She wants to trust him, and be respected and listened to.
Also, she wants to curl up in his lap and feel safe. She wants to hide under his wing and know that nothing can harm her, because like… be so for real, NOTHING in all three realms can out-scary Lucifer. She’s confident about that! (So is Mammon.)
And she wants him to relax! She wants him to rest, and delegate some of his work, and believe her if she ever works up the nerve to tell him that he doesn’t have to keep up his perfect performance at home! That she loves dorky big brother Luci more than impressive, scary work-Lucifer. That his brothers love him that way too.
She wishes she could ask him, just for a while, if he would put the mighty firstborn aside. Only at home, only when he’s not too busy… Don’t be the Morningstar, the right hand of the demon prince, the impressive avatar of pride. Just for a while. Maybe for a day off. Just be their Luci. Just hang out, chill, and let his family love him.

A new Levi's video commercial, directed by Nadia Marquard Otzen featuring Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone, has landed in an embarrassing situation. The video shows Deepika entering a set and dancing to the tunes of 'Auva-Auva', the 1982 hit number sung by Bappi Lahiri and Usha Uthup.
The video has already garnered over 5.6 million views on YouTube alone and the comment section is full of praise for the song as well as for Deepika Padukone.
All about the controversy:
The controversy, however, concerns the set where Deepika is seen grooving on the song. Photographer and filmmaker Sooni Taraporevala on Tuesday claimed the set used in the video was extremely similar to the one she had created for her film 'Yeh Ballet'.
In a long Instagram post, with photographs of the set from her film and Levi's advertisement, Taraporevala lambasted the makers of the set, calling it an intellectual theft.

Envy
_______
Auva is curled up in a nest of soft things on the floor of Levi’s room. Pillows, blankets, plushies, possibly a beanbag chair or two—all piled high on the floor in front of a big screen.
Levi is there too, of course. Sitting just slightly out of arm’s reach, reclining in the blanket nest with his Ruri-chan body pillow. Relaxed as she’s ever seen him. He’s hugging the pillow like it’s his best friend as he and Auva marathon TSL for quite possibly the 15th time.
At this point, Auva knows these movies so well she could speak every line along with the characters. So, as much as she enjoys the story, it’s not exactly keeping her focused.
‘I’M his best friend!’ Auva can’t stop herself from thinking, as Levi watches peacefully. She mentally side-eyes that passing thought as soon as she notices it.
Envy is not a familiar feeling for Auva. Sure, she’s felt short flashes of mild jealousy before—small moments of it that are easily acknowledged, dealt with, and released. Quick and simple.
That’s… not what this is. She tries to push it down, for further examination later. She pointedly thinks of how peaceful this is, what a good time she’s having watching movies she likes, how nice it is to see Levi being so relaxed and open…
She holds out for about a movie and a half. But then, a scene where the Lord of Shadows gives Henry a hug has the twisting unpleasantness she feels in her gut suddenly roaring back to life. It burrows into the front of her mind. The unfamiliar feeling intensifies from the low, very ignorable twisting it was before, like pouring gasoline on a fire. It burns, insistent and cloying under her tongue.
Auva zones out in that moment, confused and distressed. Trying to identify whatever the fuck this is.
Simultaneously, Levi snaps out of relaxed TSL fixation mode. He feels the explosion of envy in his friend. It’s doubly palpable to him, not just because he’s attuned to feelings of envy as the avatar of it—especially in Auva through his pact with her—but more because he has NEVER before felt so much of it from her before!
“Uh—!? Whoaaaa… Auva??! Are you—do you wanna talk about it??” Levi sputters.
Auva freezes, looking away. She’s figured out what caused the bad feeling, but not what the bad feeling is quite yet. In order to find the cause, she has tracked the start of the feeling to when Levi joined her in their blanket nest, but chose to sit too far away from her to touch, to cuddle with a pillow instead of his best friend.
She’s embarrassed to realize this. Fruitlessly, she tries to hide it. She doesn’t want to lie to him, but… she can’t say it! “No, no! It’s nothing, don’t worry, I’m good! Everything’s fine!”
Levi shoots her a flat look. “Stupid normie, I can FEEL it! Did you forget what I am? There’s no point lying!”
Auva groans, burying her face in her hands. ‘??? He can feel it—OH. Oh. Envy. So that’s what that feels like then. Fuck, okay.’ She thinks, cringing at herself.
“Nooo… Levi, really, it’s nothing! It’s so dumb!”
“But I wanna help! WHY won’t you tell me? That’s SO not fair..!” Levi exclaims, looking stressed, worried, and a bit hurt. “Of course you wouldn’t trust a gross icky otaku like me…”
‘Fuuuuck, of course he’d take it personally!’ Auva mentally groans to herself.
“No! No, you know I don’t think that! You’re not gross, Levi! I… it’s just—umm, well…” she trails off. Can’t say it.
She huffs, frustrated, and flails for a moment before taking her DDD out of her pocket. She goes to text him instead.
> ruri pillow gets hugs and I don’t >:[ Henry gets hugs and I don’t >>:[[[ I want hugs too >:[ >:[ >:[
Levi’s text tone goes off. He reads her message.
He freezes awkwardly. Buffering…
Auva cringes, shoving her DDD away from her. She hides her face in her hands again. “I told you it’s dumb…” she mumbles.
“N-no! No, it’s fine! I just. I, was, uh—! Y-you… you really don’t think I’m too gross?” Levi stutters.
“Obviously not! We’re friends, we’ve BEEN friends, you know I love you—Why do YOU think you’re gross?! Is it because you’re a snake, do you think snakes are gross?! I like snakes!! Is that it? I don’t get it, Levi! You’re NOT gross, I’ll fight you about that if I have to! Is that really why you don’t touch me?” Auva rambles, her hands flapping frantically. “You keep telling me it’s okay if I touch you, you said you’re not uncomfortable with it in general, but then… you’ll sit next to me and hug a pillow but you won’t ever hug me, and I don’t get WHY! I keep telling you you’re not gross! Do you not believe me, or do you just…”
Auva cuts herself off. ‘do you just not love me’, she was going to say. She thought better of it. She knows he does. She knows. It would be unfair to him to scold him for not believing her and then to immediately turn around and not believe him. She knows he’s shy, too. It isn’t a problem if he’s uncomfortable with touch of course, but he keeps telling her that’s not the case, so..???
Levi seems to know where she was going with that. He flails, stuttering his rebuttal just as frantically. They never resemble each other more than when they’re panicking at each other like this. “I..! It’s NOT like that!! It’s not that—that I don’t l-love… you, o-or anything..! I just..! It’s just… I’m gross, I don’t think you’d want ME so close to you!”
“But I do though! I really do! You’re NOT gross! Levi… Levi, you’re not gross. You’re my friend. My friend is not gross. Please believe me?” Auva says, her agitation quickly dying down into just sadness.
Levi’s energy simmers down to match hers. With a sigh, he steels himself. Dismissing his ever-present shyness as best he can. He puts the Ruri pillow down in the pile next to him. He fixes his gaze into a far corner as he sticks out an arm in Auva’s direction, shyly gesturing for his friend to close the distance.
Auva rushes to comply before he can change his mind. It’s about half a second until she has ducked under his arm and moulded herself against him, shifting until she’s comfy and as close as she can get. She ends up draped over the left side of him. Her fingers tangle into the fabric of his shirt, clinging, as if to prevent anyone from removing her. Her cheek smushes against his shoulder. Her glasses get knocked off as she presses her face against him. She doesn’t care.
“Stupid noodle… y’r not fuckin gross…” she grumbles to him, her voice muffled against his shoulder.
“…if you say so, I guess…” he mumbles back. He puts his arm down across her shoulder blades. His hand wraps carefully around her right bicep. His other hand retrieves her glasses, then places them on the floor where they’ll be safer. He turns his attention back to the movie to distract himself from his self-consciousness.
As for Auva, she’s fully ignoring the movie in favour of committing this absolute gift of a moment to memory. Every detail. The rhythm of his breathing and heartbeat, the sounds of his joints shifting with each minute adjustment he makes, the cool temperature of his skin, the unscented soap and ocean scent that sticks to him, the gentle pressure of his arm draped over her, the feel of his thumb absently rubbing over that one small strip of skin on her arm and occasionally fidgeting with the hem of her short sleeve. She blissfully soaks in every detail.
Her heart is warm, and she LOVES her friend. She’s relaxed, boneless. Very comfortable and happy to be held.
As the next movie plays, Levi ends up absentmindedly pulling her into the same position he had the pillow in before. Reclining fully against his chest, more or less in his lap as both his arms wrap securely around her back. She couldn’t see the screen like this if she were trying to. She’s not though, so this is more than fine with her. She’s seen these movies so many times by now that the audio alone is enough to have the visuals projecting in detail from her memory on the back of her eyelids.
Auva stays still and quiet, carefully relaxed, trying not to draw attention to herself. Hoping he’ll stay distracted until the entire series is over, so it’ll take as long as possible for him to get awkward and push her away again. Fuck, she dreads the idea of being pushed away.
Hours later, the story ends. Levi’s distraction is over. Her fingers clench in his shirt again, clinging. She doesn’t want him to let go. Doesn’t want him to make her go…
“Auva..?” Levi softly calls, having noticed her tension returning. “I… it’s okay, you know. You don’t—I’m not kicking you out. If you’re sure you want to be here. I’m not uncomfortable, or anything, is what I’m saying. Is that, um… that’s what you’re scared of, right?” he sighs. Pulls her a bit closer, so he can lean down to comfortably bury his face against her shoulder without dislodging her. “We’re gonna have to talk about this, aren’t we…”
“Mm. Probably… ‘s important. But… tomorrow, though? I’m comfy...” Auva mumbles.
She yawns. He nods, agreeing to have a real conversation about this tomorrow. They cling to each other a bit tighter for comfort, as they both try not to think about how scary that is.
“Hey, Levi?” Auva whispers.
“Hm?” He hums inquisitively.
“I really love my player one. SO much. I hope you know that.”
He inhales sharply, quickly squeezing her as he takes in her familiar words. She has told him so many times before, but it hits him in the heart just the same every time.
“Yeah. I know.” He whispers back. “And I love my player two. So much. You know that,” Shy as always, even though he has said it before too.
Auva nods. She gives him an affectionate squeeze too, before relaxing again. Intending to go to sleep right there.
The upcoming conversation still scares them, but just a bit less now. They’ll have each other, after all. They’ll help each other.
They’ll be fine.

Bonding
(Takes place at some point shortly after Auva pacts with Beel. After the events of ‘Tsundere Nonsense’)
I wrote a thing about these pact headcanons! Extremely sappy fluff. Brace yourself lol
_______
Auva sits atop the kitchen counter near the cutting board, idly swinging her feet as she chats with Beel and Mammon about the upcoming retreat.
Beel distractedly replies to them, as he devotes most of his attention to slicing and peeling a Devildom citrus of some kind. It’s large and round and purple. It’s constructed like an orange, and it’s sour-sweet-refreshing kind of like an orange, but with a different flavour. It has a proper name, but Auva insists on referring to it as a purple.
Beel cuts a fruit segment off the peel and hands it to her.
“Levi was complaining about the timing earlier, something about a character’s birthday? I said I’d help him out with packing later today because he’s gonna bring a whole bunch of his figurines with him t—wh? For me?” Auva says in surprise, looking between the purple fruit segment in her hand and her friend who put it there. She has NEVER seen Beel share his food with anyone before!
“Mmhm” Beel nonchalantly replies, humming his confirmation through a mouthful of purple citrus.
Stunned and touched at his seemingly automatic—but wildly uncharacteristic—generosity towards her, she pops the piece of fruit into her mouth. Slices of purple have never tasted so good before.
Auva leans over and hugs Beel’s free arm as she chews. “Thank you..!”
Beel smiles at her, then perks up as if he’s had an idea.
Auva feels her pact bond with Beel stirring awake in the vague un-space in the back of her mind. He’s reaching for her. Auva reaches back, making the mental contact to open up their pact bond. It feels like holding his hand, except… closer, warmer, because it’s really their souls making contact.
Auva receives a gentle pulse of ‘protectiveness-affection-friendship-softness’ from Beel, sent directly into her mind. Auva replies ‘warm-soft-appreciation-devotion-affection’, far more clumsily. Less practiced. Still, it works. Beel receives the emotions she means to share with him, letting an echo of it reverberate back through the bond to her so she knows he heard her.
Beel takes a bite of another fruit slice. Leaving one regular human bite sized piece of it instead of eating the whole slice at once. Auva doesn’t have time to wonder why before Beel feeds her the remaining piece.
She swallows it, and the pact bond seems to spark to life! Suddenly, it feels less like holding his hand, and more like being hugged. The emotions Beel shares with her are clearer this time. His soul wraps lovingly around hers and they blend together, the lines between them blurring and melting. It feels so close. Understanding Beel is suddenly easier than breathing. It’s the most intimate connection she has ever felt in her life.
She gets ‘fondness-loyalty-warmth-small human-promise to catch you-promise to feed you-grow healthy and strong-give you bites of my Life-I love you’ from him. Not quite in words, but the sentiment is fully conveyed. The new clarity to their bond is incredible, and the sentiment he conveys to her touches her deeply.
Without a thought, she sends back ‘aww, Beel-would die for you-I love you-big precious friend-appreciation-devotion-loyalty-I love you-I love you-I love you’ to him. Also without words, but the sentiment is completely understood.
Beel puts down the knife and the piece of empty citrus peel so he can wipe off a drop of juice from her face. With one final gentle pulse of ‘warmth-love-devotion’ from him, their bond goes still and dormant again. Her soul is once again hers alone.
“Woah… what WAS that?” Auva breathily asks.
“Strengthening our pact,” Beel answers, fondness subtly colouring his tone of voice.
Auva can’t help but think she must be able to pick up on that now because of that experience. She feels like she understands him a bit better now, having just had their minds linked more closely than ever before in that incredible moment of connection.
Beel picks up the knife again, and a new fruit. He returns to slicing and snacking.
“That’s a thing we can do?” Auva asks, fascinated.
“Sure can,” Mammon finally chimes in. He gets up from leaning against the wall and approaches her. “Here.”
Mammon cups her jaw carefully in one hand, then tenderly touches their foreheads together. He holds them there for a long moment, stroking her cheek with his thumb as he reaches for her through their pact.
Auva reaches back to Mammon. Mentally taking his offered hand.
They breathe together, sharing the same air. Sharing the same breath. This time, the pact bond opens up gradually, pulsing in time with their slow breaths like a flickering candle, until their back and forth exchange of ‘love-trust-devotion-best friend-mine-precious’ becomes clear and strong. Less like a conversation with turns, and more like harmonizing.
As their vitality blends together, Auva feels surrounded by him, wrapped up in his energy like a blanket, thoroughly warm and loved. She feels him languidly pouring ‘affection-care-endearment-protectiveness’ into her mind. She feels ‘mine-I love you-anything for you-my human-stay close to me-I love you’ from him.
Wordlessly, Auva replies ‘would follow you anywhere-I love you-feel safe together-I’m home-I love you-my Mammon-want you to be happy-I love you-stay close to me-would give you the world-I love you’, trying to give him the same warmth right back.
After a minute, Mammon pulls back. The intense connection fades back to normal.
Auva stares at him in awe, and he smiles at her, all glassy-eyed and soft. He taps her nose fondly, then takes a step back.
He clears his throat—as if to banish any hints of emotion from his voice before he speaks—and rubs the back of his neck the way he always does when he’s embarrassed.
“Pretty cool, huh? It’ll make usin’ the bond easier—OI, easy, human!” Mammon had tried to act cool and chill, but gets suddenly cut off by Auva hopping down from her seat on the kitchen counter and nearly bowling him over in a very enthusiastic hug.
“What the fuck Mam, we could have been doing that the whole time, what the fuck, I love you so fucking much!!” Auva says directly into Mammon’s shirt where her face is smushed against him.
Mammon quickly softens again, immediately returning the hug. Who does he think he’s kidding? “I… yeah, alright. I love ya too, or some shit…”
In perfect sync, Auva and Beel roll their eyes and huff an identical soft laugh at Mammon.
(Her mind buzzes excitedly as it drifts to her other pact partner, Levi. Did he know about this too?? It’s incredible, she’s TOTALLY gonna do this with him too when she meets up with him later!! She can hardly wait!)

Tsundere nonsense
(This takes place between getting Beel’s pact and leaving for the retreat)
Mild angst, hurt/comfort, fluff. The human is very sensitive and cannot tell when Mammon’s spouting bullshit.
_______
Auva sits on the couch in the living room next to Beel. There’s a show playing on the TV. Beel is snacking as they watch it idly. Levi sits in a corner playing a game on a handheld console, hunched over and grumbling about being out of his room. Asmo sits on the floor, painting Satan’s nails. Everything is peaceful.
Mammon walks in, and Auva perks up, hands grabbing at the air in his direction. Beckoning him to sit at her other side.
Mammon acquiesces with an unsubtly fond eyeroll. Smiling openly.
Asmo snickers at him
“Honestly, Mammon, you still can’t admit that you’re wrapped around that human’s little finger? You’ve all but adopted her at this point! Can’t you say how much you love her?” Asmo teases.
Mammon sputters, hands flapping frantically as his face burns bright red. “Wh—! I—! NO! I don’t love the human, I didn’t even want the human, I don’t care about the stupid thing, what the fuck are ya talkin’ about Asmo—Shut the fuck up before I make you—!” Mammon deflects desperately, defending himself as Asmo cackles.
Under the sound of Mammon’s shouting, there’s a muffled little sound. A quick, squeaky puff of air, as if from being punched in the gut... Auva.
She inhales slowly, blinking hard. Trying not to cry. Trying not to draw attention.
It’s not working. She turns to bury her face in Beel’s shirt.
Because… Auva knew Mammon didn’t like her at first, he had said as much all the time! But… but she really thought he had changed his mind by now! He hadn’t said anything like that in weeks!
All the time he spent in her room, all the hangouts and talks and whispering stupid comments to each other in class, all the silly memes they’d sent to each other, his ever present charger and toothbrush and random items left in her room because he’s always in there with her… how is that not friendship? How can he still not care about her after all that? How could he not want her? Why…
“…why would he say that?” Auva asks Beel, her voice cracking with barely suppressed tears.
Beel places an arm around her shoulders. “He doesn’t mean it.” He assures her.
She sniffles quietly.
“—the worst, Asmo, see if I don’t sell YOU next, you piece of—oh, human…” Mammon finally notices his human, curled up in a little shivering ball of heartbreak. Hiding under Beel’s arm. Tucked away from him.
“Wha—no, no, hey… ya know I never mean any of that… right? Human..? Auva…” Mammon’s voice is suddenly softer. Soothing, like he’s trying to coax a scared animal out of hiding.
Silence.
(In the background, Levi glares at Asmo. He throws a nearby cushion at him.)
“I didn’t mean it, Auva, I promise..! C’mon… look at me?” Mammon frantically says.
Auva sniffles again. “Y-you said… you don’t care about me. Stupid thing, you said… you said—”
“No, no, human… I’m sorry. I didn’t… you’re not a stupid thing. I promise ya, I didn’t mean it! I was just…” he sighs heavily, as he mentally kicks his own ass.
“I—look. I get defensive, I’m… how’d you put it? I’m real fuckin bad at feelings, okay? I just—I get called out, then I get defensive, an’ I just yell lies to get everyone to lay off, an’—aww, baby, no don’t cry, don’t… fuck, I’m a jackass… c’mere, c’mere…”
Beel glares at Mammon as he pulls Auva out of her hiding spot, so he can hug her.
Auva thinks what he just said demonstrates some rather impressive emotional intelligence and self-awareness, especially for someone who just claimed to be bad at feelings. This… is encouraging, she thinks. Maybe, maybe it really will be okay..? Maybe he really does love her?
Hesitantly, desperately, Auva hugs back. Tangling her fingers into his shirt, hands bunched up in the loose fabric at his sides. Clinging, but not daring to actually hold him. Not yet.
“I’ll work on it, I promise. I’ll do better. I promise, I promise, human… I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean a word of it, I’ve never meant any of that, please tell me ya knew that…” Mammon pleads as he squeezes his human tightly. Secure, safe… how he knows by now she responds best to.
“You said… you said you don’t want me..?” Auva sobs.
“I do, baby, I do. You’re MY human. ‘Course I want ya! I’m never gonna get rid of ya… shhh, shhshshh… I’m here, baby. I gotcha. I’m not lettin’ go. Promise.”
Mammon has dropped his tsundere nonsense entirely. It falls away to reveal the soft, gentle, protector that Mammon is when no one else is there to witness it.
“…Auva?” Mammon murmurs in the long, quiet moment after she’s calmed down. “You did know that I never meant any of that crap I say when I get like that… right?”
Auva shakes her head slightly. “How would I know?? I can’t do subtext, Mam. Unless it’s in fiction, I guess. I never pick up on any of that in real life. I just… I trust you, so I believe you. S-so… if you say that you don’t care about me… how would I know that’s not what you meant?”
“…oh. Well… fuck. I… y’know what? I need you to know I’m tellin’ ya the truth now. I want you to use the pact. Command me to tell you the truth. Lemme tell you what I really meant.”
Auva’s taken aback. That’s a big gesture! “Um—are you sure?”
He looks away, red-faced and clenching his jaw as he nods. He gestures at her to hurry it up, get it over with.
“Okay… Mammon, tell me the truth. What do you really think of me?”
“Auva… you’re MY human. My precious lil buddy. You’re my lil gremlin human. There’s really not much I wouldn’t do for you. I love you, I’d NEVER get rid of you! I can’t imagine ever not wanting you here with me. You’re not some… stupid annoying obligation. Not at all. I can’t believe you really didn’t realize how much I cared about you, even from the very first few days of knowin’ you! Auva, I’m supposed to protect you, and I WANT to! You’re my baby, Auva. My lil baby. I love you, and I’m staying with you. As long as possible. ‘Kay?”
Auva stares wide eyed at Mammon. That’s… wow. Some shit she’s sure he’d NEVER say if it weren’t forced out of him. Safe to say she knows what to believe now.
She lifts the command.
“…wow. Okay. Yeah. Thank you…”
Overwhelmed, Auva buries herself in Mammon’s arms again. That was… a lot.
“Don’t let go?” She requests softly. Mammon squeezes her reassuringly in answer.
It’s peaceful again for a moment.
“Mammon.” Beel rumbles threateningly. “If you make the baby cry again I will throw you through another wall.”
Auva makes an embarrassed sound, curling into Mammon to hide again.
Mammon laughs. “Yeah, yeah. I won’t. I got the baby. She’s fiiine.”
Auva squeaks, overwhelmed and unsure how she’s supposed to react. She decides on clinging to Mammon and ignoring everything else. Her usual strat. It’s normally effective enough.

This is Auva
Tumblr media
Her personality:
Auva is a self insert. She’s the exact same flavour of aroace and neurodivergent as I am. (AuDHD, has NVLD too. Probably also has discalculia. Alexithymia, time blindness, memory issues, and no sense of direction are all major symptoms tied to these that are super obvious.)
She has two modes: one is the unflinchingly practical, observant, mature problem-solver. Responsible and efficient and cautious and self-sufficient. Quiet. Logical to the point of seeming cold sometimes. Hyper-competent in a crisis. Then the second mode is… soft, sensitive baby who wants attention and love and reassurance—wants someone else to take over being the protector for once. Easily distracted and confused, open and clingy and reliant. Will not hide her emotions unless there’s a real urgent reason to. Obviously young.
The line between the two modes varies in blurriness. Sometimes the switch is jarring to an outside observer, sometimes the two aspects of her blend together smoothly. This is standard human complexity, everyone is multifaceted, but the contrast in her is particularly notable to her demons.
She’s like… take Belphie’s sleepy, cuddly nature, his love of stars and performance arts and storytelling, his enjoyment of sushi (and preference for no wasabi), his head full of trivia and success at tests but not projects, and his attachment to Beel.
Combine that with Beel’s blunt, earnest disposition, his guard dog complex, his open, bleeding heart, his honesty, softness, and loyalty, and his enthusiasm for food.
Add Mammon’s inability to lie about his feelings and his obvious ADHD, Satan’s curiosity, voracious reading, and soft spot for cats, and Levi’s obsessive fandom and love of video games and being in the water.
Remove all the violence and replace it with introspectiveness, anxious attachment, a shocking amount of emotional intelligence, the ability to stay scarily chill in a crisis, and a constant craving for hugs because of a backstory full of touch deprivation. Mix well.
That’s Auva!
_______
Auva’s role:
No one can tell what her relationship to her seven pacted demons is. It doesn’t fit neatly into any human relationship box.
To them, she is… some nebulous combination of their: friend, roommate, therapist, confidante, queer platonic partner, emotional support animal, babysitter, unspecified relative, school underclassman they adopted, etc etc.
Bottom line is just that they love her and she loves them. Found family, big QPR kind of vibe.
If someone asks what they are to her, she’d have to be like “they’re… mine.” When that’s met with confusion and prodding, like “your what? Friends, family, partners, mentors? What?” She’s just like, shrug “Just… mine.”
That’s as accurate a label as there can be.

MC ask game random answers
Link to OG post! Feel free to ask me to answer other questions, from the OG post or otherwise!
(I am answering the questions about Auva, my obey me MC. She is a 20 year old human. Aroace. Loves her seven weirdos so damn much. Aaaaand that about sums her up lol)
Question 2: Do they have a nickname?
Yes, she’s got a whole collection of nicknames! Each of the seven bros call her something different. I guess it’s more accurate to call them pet names rather than nicknames, but what’s really the difference lol
“The baby” is a common one, from Mammon and Beel usually but the others all use this one too every so often. Mostly to make fun of her, but she doesn’t mind. Like they’ll ask each other “where’s the baby” referring to her, and “how could you say that to the baby?!” Etc etc lol
- Mammon is the main one with the “baby” allegations, though “gremlin” and “nerd” and “dummy” and “loser” are all also pretty common from him. All affectionate! She has been diagnosed with baby, he insists. “Human” is the other very common one, that might as well be her name to him. Mammon only uses her name in particularly serious or soft situations.
- Levi’s not exactly big on the nicknames, but he does refer to her as his player two and his Henry very often.
- Beel usually uses her name, but pre-belphie jailbreak he would occasionally call her “bug”. Sometimes, it’s “little bug”. When questioned, Beel just kinda shrugged and said “I like bugs. And I like you. Both are small.” and that was that, apparently. (The way they all talk about her, you’d think she’s so short, but no. She’s 5’7”. It’s just that they’re all taller than her. And older. And she doesn’t mind being babied in this particular way, so she doesn’t bother to stop them.) Post-jailbreak, Beel adopted Belphie’s nickname for her, and started using that one slightly more often than bug.
- Asmo uses nicknames for everyone, and he’s got a whole roster. He uses “hon” and “sweetie” and “darling” and such like punctuation. He really seems to mean it when he’s talking to Auva, though. “Lovely” is one that seems to be just for her.
- Satan aligns with Beel on the frequency of nickname use, so usually just uses her name. If he does call her something else, then it’s “love” or “darling”. He likes the classics.
- Belphie uses her real name more than Mammon and Asmo do, but less than Beel and Satan—and DEFINITELY less than Levi and Lucifer. He calls her mouse, or sometimes mousie. It comes from that period of time a handful of weeks post-jailbreak (and homicide/revival/time travel situation) when Auva was still afraid of him but working hard on trying not to be, because she was sick of it. She had come up with and executed a self-assigned exposure therapy/desensitization plan. She would approach Belphie, shaking like a leaf but still determined, and gradually get closer, more comfortable. He would respond to that with understanding and gratitude, carefully remaining chill and gentle and reassuring. “Brave little mouse”, he commented, when she first got to the point of being comfortable enough to hug him. Intending it to express his understanding of how scary this is, how much stronger than her he knows he is, how threatening he knows that must be, how awed and grateful he is at her determination to be his friend anyway. They think very similarly, so she understood what he meant. Took it as the praise it was meant to be. Brave little mouse indeed.
- The nickname stuck. She is Mouse, to Belphie. Beel adopted that nickname for her too, because he thinks it’s fitting and cute.
- Lucifer is about as big on nicknames as Levi is. Which is to say, not at all. Still, though, very sparingly he’ll drop one. “Little one”, usually. Or “my dear” or “little star”, because Auva is named after a star. It’s in Virgo. (I did that because MY name, Adhara, is also a star! It’s in Canis Major) Belphie occasionally steals that nickname from Lucifer, too. It’s one of the only things he’ll admit to agreeing with him about lol
