When it comes to being a fighter, I see Mikai as the face of the revolution, the tank and the strategist. His clothes are bright and demand your attention, both in battle and in diplomatic settings. He has tattoos in order to use his most spells often, he teleports people out of danger (reference to meifwas sharing a common ancestor with enderman cause its funny but I digress). He carries a heavy shield to protect people, but ultimately his strongest DPS abilities come from his magic. Erm, if you have any questions about him you could send me asks about it heart emoji. A lot of my fanon for him is tied to my version of Tu'la and the Tu'lan revolution

Mikai's nose is crooked from being broken! He's based off a siamese cat. His roots r growing in.. better get that hair redyed! he looks so cunty here i don't know how it happened it just did. i do think that now i have to draw michi so i can put them side by side..

Menphia is so messy i am so sorry i was battling storms. Her outfit is a mixture of armour + royalty.. I like to imagine that with her fighting prowess and skills in sorcery she can hold her own without the extra armour weighing her down. There is so much gold jewellery i like to think of her like a wyvern/dragon. very much interested in gold and hoards treasures. she also has golden claws for her middle fingers. certified bad bitch.

6 years ago, a mcyt popped up onto my recommended on youtube.

i clicked a video, “New World | Minecraft Diaries [S1: Ep. 1] Roleplay Adventure!”

and from then on, my life changed. i know it sounds stupid, but minecraft diaries and aphmau in general changed me.

i know i yell at aphmau a lot, lest it be for plot holes, unexplored characters, awful character development, or even just taking out laurance, she was and always will be my favorite youtuber.

so in this moment, I just wanted to say, thank you so much Jess, for everything you made me into today.

it’s hard to believe it’s been six years since i first clicked on an aphmau video and i’m glad i never once abandoned it.

Behind the Scenes

Gene leaned against the brick wall, cup in hand and sword hanging from his waist. Next to him stood Jeoffrey and a little ways ahead, hidden behind massive equipment they used during practice, Vylad and Laurance could be heard arguing over something.

Jarring him from his thoughts was the realization that someone had spoken to him, and he looked around before it occurred to him to glance down. Standing there, looking both amused and annoyed, was Aphmau, who stole his coffee cup once she knew she had his attention.

“Were you not paying attention? You and Aaron are on in five, go make sure you’re ready. And don’t forget your lines this time!”

She begged, recalling yesterday’s shoot of the latest episode of one of the current most popular series on TV, Minecraft Diaries. Gene, in the middle of one of the most important scenes for that episode, had frozen up, completely forgetting his next line, and had just stood there staring at Aaron like an idiot until the directors yelled cut, and he was chastised for zoning out.

“That wasn’t my fault, Aph. Vylad was standing behind y’all and doing stupid shit to distract me!”

“Oh yeah, blame on the child of the group~” A voice teased, which soon connected to a dark-skinned body, splattered with patches of much lighter skin. Vylad ran a hand through his messy hair, taking one look at Gene’s coffee cup before stealing it from Aphmau and taking a sip.

Only to scrunch his face up in disgust at the taste of pure black coffee.

Waving them goodbye, Gene headed over to the makeup artists so they could touch up his Shadow Knight makeup, laughing at Vylad’s reaction, who had been expecting Aphmau’s usually sugary drink, not Gene’s ‘dark-as-my-soul’ bitter bean liquid. He slipped into place just before the crew began rushing around to make final touches.

Walking up to the two leaning on the wall was an all-to-familiar set of twins, both trouble-makers.

“Hey Mikai. Michi. What are you two doing?”

“Looking for ways-”

“-to pass the time” They spoke calmly, giggling and rushing off again as Vylad groaned in annoyance from their creepy twin talking.

“Twins seriously give me the creeps.” The brunette muttered.

“Aww, baby brother, whats so bad about them?” Someone asked, a little ways to the left of Aphmau and Vylad.

“ACK- ZANE!!!! Don’t sneak up on me like that!”

“Heh, sorry, we have an interview with Garroth, answering some questions people have about the Ro’meave brothers.”

“Fineeeeeee, I’m coming. Aphmau, hold Gene’s cup of mud until I get back.

She takes the coffee, waving her friends off before weaving her way through the crew and equipment to find someone else to talk to, with the sounds of Gene and Aaron speaking to each other, makeup artists running around, trying to get everything done, and her fellow actors  chatting amongst themselves, any rivalries they had on screen completely nonexistent when the camera was off of them. They may not be blood-related, but the people here were her family, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. 

“CUT! EUGENE, STOP STARING AT THE SHIRTLESS ACTORS OFFSET!!”

Roaring laughter filled the studio, as Gene slinked off the set for a minute, face and ears bright red.

Yeah, she wouldn’t change a single thing.

i have no idea if this was just a statement bc yes mikai rocks sm. he's so lovely u dont understan

BUT. i am taking this as an invitation to ramble about him because oh my god he's been on the brain for so long

i have no idea if he appeared in anything other than his first appearance episode but im literally taking that episode and just fleshing him out. idk why i saw this catboy once and immediately latched onto him. in my brain, mikai is un miau miau patetico. i feel like he cares so much for other people that he's willing to risk everything, even himself. he's the type to basically shoulder every worry to keep others calm at the expense of his own fucking mental health. he's a garroth kinnie /hj.

he has a strong sense of duty, specifically to his people? it's to the point where he chooses to save and serve them over trying to stop his sister. he knows her job can get herself killed, the people of tu'la need him more.

i do think that- however, this could lead to some sort of demise? i feel like it'd be extremely easy to demolish his motivation and his role with the refugees. i feel like he was suddenly thrown to this situation, a situation where he has to travel with many people and lead. i just dont think mikai is a leader at all. maybe he could be, but because for him, this is a situation he was unprepared for, i feel like his role? his leadership? is just slowly breaking at the seams.
