Master Oogway with Henriette Eilertsen - Heading Home - catching up with Rune Grammofon releases, here is a nice extended jam from the live album Happy Village

Back in 2020, Kafé Hærverk, Oslo’s live hotspot for a wide range of jazz and experimental music, invited Master Oogway to do monthly concerts from August to December, bringing along a guest for each occasion. Two had to be moved to 2021 due to Covid restrictions, but the other three were recorded for possible use later. Initially we thought about doing a “best of” from all of the recordings, but after further listening it soon dawned on us that the concert with Henriette was nothing less than magical. To make room for the 45 minute vinyl edition, we had to drop one of the five pieces that were played on the night, and also make two minor edits. Other than that, this is what was played, there are no overdubs or cosmetic treatments. The album was brilliantly mixed in Athletic Sound by Dag Erik Johansen. “Happy Village” finds the band in a more lyrical and exuberant mood than before, in no small part due to Henriette’s beautiful contributions. Simply a brilliant album!

Henriette Eilertsen is a member of Billy Meier and Andreas Røysum Ensemble and part of the fertile and exciting environment around the Motvind label, where she also released her solo debut “Poems For Flute” in 2021.

Hotel, south of Kassel, Glenn gets a free beer from the nice receptionist girl, we drink it on the terrace. me: I remember seeing this Canadian movie once, about a bored receptionist at a hotel in the middle of nowhere who starts fucking guests for fun, just 'cos she's bored. Does not end well for her, dark movie. Glenn: Dude, she's like downstairs! me: Whaaaat, it was a good movie ... 2. UCI Gran Fondo Maraton Franja

Track: 157 km, 2 climbs, 1 hard, 1 harder Plan: do not fall

Race

Start at about position 100+100+100+100 = waaay too back Consider the first 10km as a criterium NP first 10KM: waaay too much Make it to first group with the leaders, 100 riders or so Avoid crashes First climb: painful, but manageable Managed to stay with the lead group Avoid crashes Stuck in same position due to crowd and smaller roads Second climb: very painful but manageable Lose some places Descend like a madman, pass people Small chasing group forms Some yelling around organizing work Some more yelling And some more yelling And we're finally working together Kinda 15 min later we catch the group before us And every kind of collaboration stops Like, literally So we chill for last 57km Well, I chill, the rest are pretty burned out and kinda grumpy Count the competition: about 7 guys in the same category, so ... just make sure I'm faster NP last 50km: way too low for a race like this Plan: attack solo at Merkator once we enter the city, get a kid to come along with me (wait, what's Merkator? Eh, you'll see) Eventually, get to the main streets in the city Also, get caught by another group since we were chillin', nahmean? Pace picks up, some action going on, we're getting close to Merkator I'm lining up on the side, a dude goes Ok, he can go, I am waiting, waaait for it, waaaaait for it THE KID GOES BOOOM WAIT WHAT?
