Lockjaw the Pet Avenger

This pupper’s mother was subjected to the mutagenic properties of the Terrigen Mist.  As a result, Lockjaw and his littermate were bestowed super powers.  Lockjaw grew into a massive form possessing greatly enhanced strength, cosmic awareness and the ability to teleport himself and others across vast distances, even between dimensions.  Along with serving as watchdog to The Inhuman Royal Family, Lockjaw has additionally embarked on many adventures alongside countless heroes, including the Fantastic Four, Ms. Marvel and Spider-Man.  He additionally helped form the mighty Pet Avengers!  Lockjaw first appeared in Fantastic Four Vol. 1 #45 (1965).

Chewie the Flerken

Carol Danvers, the heroic Captain Marvel, was unaware that her pet cat, Chewie, was actually a powerful alien being known as a Flerken.  The pocket dimensions these Flerken possess within them proved to be of great help during Captain Marvel’s adventures in space.  A version of Chewie appeared in the Captain Marvel movie, renamed ‘Goose’ and portrayed by a quartet of tabbies named Gonzo, Rizzo, Archie and Reggie.  Chewie first appeared in Giant-Size Ms. Marvel #1 (2006).

Bats the Ghost Dog

Bats was an aged basset hound who ended up in the care of Stephen Strange during the time he had become a veterinarian after being deposed from his title of Sorcerer Supreme. Strange enchanted Bats with a translation spell that allowed his barks to be interpreted as English.  An encounter with Loki resulted in Bats suffering a fatal heart attack.  The old boy had so enjoyed his time with Dr. Strange, however, that he decided to stay at the sorcerer’s side in a ghostly form.   As a specter, Bats continued to accompany Strange on many adventures.  He’s a very good boy and first appeared in the pages of Doctor Strange Vol .1 #381 (2017).  

Tippy-Toe The Squirrel

The intrepid squirrel known as Tippy-Toe first aided The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl in a battle  against the villainous Maelstrom.  From there on out Tippy and Squirrel Girl became inseparable and Tippy has proven her valor time and time again as one of the best sidekicks a superhero could ever ask for.  She first appeared in the pages of Great Lakes Avengers #4 (2005).  

Lucky the Pizza Dog

Lucky had previously belonged to the villainous Tracksuit Vampires, but he chose to save the Avenger, Hawkeye, and ended up hit by a car.  Hawkeye rushed the dog to a veterinarian.  Although he lost an eye, Lucky made a full recovery and went on to be a constant companion to both Hawkeyes, Clint Barton and Kate Bishop.  His favorite food is pizza!  Lucky featured in the Disney+ series Hawkeye, portrayed by a pair of pooches named Jolt’ and Eevee.  Lucky first appeared in Hawkeye Vol. 4 #1 (2012)

Redwing the Avenger

Sam Wilson came across a juvenile falcon while exploring the caribbean island of Exile.   Sam named him Redwing and the two soon discovered they shared a psychic bond where the two could communicate through telepathy.  Sam would go on to find that he could commune in this fashion with most all bird, but his link with Redwing remained the strongest.  Redwing would go on to be Sam’s partner throughout his many adventures as both The Falcon and Captain America.  He first appeared in Captain America Vol. 1 #117 (1969).

Jeff The Landshark

Jeff was created by the villainous BRODOCK who had mutated sharks into bipedal creatures.  Jeff was not especially vicious and ended up being taken in as a pet by Gwenpool.  After spending some time on Monster Island, Gwen decided to leave Jeff in the care of Deadpool after she had doubts that she would have a solo series again, causing her to be worried about his future.  The little guy first appeared in the pages of West Coast Avengers Vol. 3 #7 (2019).

Oliver, Lucifer & Figaro

 Some time back, the villainous Sabertooth gathered up a trio of kittens who he planned to eat as a ‘snack.’  Mystique saved the kittens, depositing them in Gambit’s apartment.  Mystique had believed Gambit would feel annoyed or put upon having to take care of the three cats.  To the contrary, Gambit loved the little fur-balls and they have brought tremendous joy to his life.  He named them each after cats who have appeared in Disney animated movies.  Now grown, the three cats currently live in Gambit and Rogue’s residence in the Braddock Lighthouse on the isle of Krakoa.  Oliver, Lucifer, and Figaro first appeared in Astonishing X-Men Vol. 3 #62 (2013).

Cosmo the Space Dog

Cosmo was formerly a test animal for the Soviet Space Program (СССР). He was launched into Earth's orbit as part of an experiment but his spacecraft drifted out of orbit and entered into a wormhole that sent him to the space station known as Knowhere.  At some point during his spacial drift, cosmic rays mutated Cosmo, giving him his psionic powers. Thereafter, he became the station's Chief of Security for Knowhere.  Cosmo makes a cameo appearance in the movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 where he is portrayed by Fred the Dog.  The space-faring doggo first appeared in the pages of Nova Vol. 4 #8 (2007).

Liho & Alpine

Who would have guessed that the cold warriors known as The Black Widow and Winter Soldier would have such warm hearts when it comes to cats?  Well, they do and both of these Avengers have found themselves adopted by a pair of furballs.  Liho decided to make the Natasha Romanoff hers in the pages of Black Widow Vol. 5 #1 (2014); whereas Alpine took in Bucky Barnes in Winter Soldier Vol. 2 #1 (2018).

Lockheed the Dragon

Lockheed is a member of a highly advanced dragon-like extra-terrestrial race.  Lockheed himself was celebrated by his own as a brave fighter and hero against the Brood.  Kitty Pryde of the X-Men happened upon Lockheed during an adventure that took the X-Men into space.  She took care of the little dragon as though he were a pet, not realizing his sophisticated intellect.  The two had numerous adventure together and it was later revealed that Lockheed had been assigned by his kind to stay with the X-Men so to keep tabs on them.  Kitty felt betrayed when she ultimately learned this truth, yet she and Lockheed were ultimately able to amend their friendship.  The dragon first appeared in the pages of Uncanny X-Men Vol. 1 #166 (1983).

Mister Dibbles

A turtle is an interesting pet for the fastest man alive, but that does not change the fact that the Avenger known as Quicksilver loves little Mr. D here with all his heart.  The terrific turtle first appeared in Quicksilver: No Surrender #2 (2018).  

Niels The Cat

Niels was exposed to the same cosmic energies that imbued the heroic Speedball with his special powers.  Niels gained the same powers and is able to generate a protective forcefield that absorbs all kinetic energy and redistribute the energy by bouncing about like a pinball.  Niels embarked on numerous adventures alongside Speedball and even joined the lad during his memo phases wherein Speedball became ‘Penance’ and Niles became ‘P-Cat The Petulant Puss.’   Niles was later adopted by Jim Hammond, the original Human Torch.   The fantastic feline first appeared in Speedball #1 (1988).

Zabu of The Savage Land

Zabu is a Smilodon (or saber-tooth tiger) who grew up in the Savage Land (an artificial preserve for prehistoric wildlife situated in deep Antarctica).  Zabu became the companion of Ka-Zar the Savage and the two would embark on many adventures together.   Later, Zabu joined Ka-Zar’s wife, Sahnna in a competition to possesses the Phoenix Force.  He first appeared in X-Men Vol. 1 #10 (1965).

Mewnir

Mewnir (or Mew for short) is a white-haired cat owned by Nancy Whitehead, the roommate and best friend of the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.  Mewnir is named after the phonetic pronunciation of Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir.  Mew's diet consists of half a cup of kibble mixed with half a can of wet food per day, so keep that in mind!  She first appeared in Unbeatable Squirrel Girl Vol. 1 #1 (2015).  

Ms. Lion

The fabulous Ms. Lion is a small dog owned by May Parker and lived in Queens, New York.  The little pupper ended up joining Lockjaw’s Pet Avengers in an adventure where the team prevented the Infinity Gems from falling into evil hands.  In the universe of Spider-Man and The Amazing Friends, doggo is cared for by the heroine, Firestar.  Ms. Lion first appeared in the pages of Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers #1 (2009).  

Throg the Thunder Frog!

A frog who possesses the power of Thor.  He is Throg!  ...and first appeared in the pages of Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers #1 (2009).

Sit up, I'm here to tell ya'll a story about my first generation in legacy gameplay. I wanted to make it more of a "story" story with dialoge and stuff but decided to leave it for my current heir.

PLEASE prepare for cringy drama and shitty screenshots from my first laptop that couldn't handle all of my mods.

It all started from a bunch of losers. I mean, really LOSERS. From left to right there was Nils, a drug addict with really no hope for the future, Bertha, a bass player in a newly formed band, Gven, an aspiring cook, Hel, Nilses teenage sister who just arrived in San Myshuno and Dude, who was a teenage weed dealer living with his friends.

They were all fine at first, living all together and trying to bring funds with the household, but it was much harder then it seemed. They slowly grew apart and it was time to find them their own apartments. Hel moved in with her now boyfriend Dude, Nils was alone with his cat Potato and newly dating Bertha and Gven moved in together in a house next to Nilses. He was a frequent visitor.

They also got a borzoy named Bonya!

More time passed and they eventually grew closer again. The company would often party together. Dude and Nils moved in together because the relationship between Dude and Hel went to novewhere and Bertha and Gven adopted a chiled called Shane

Shane grew to be a wonderful kid, he was active, enjoyed skating and many other things

Nise da Silveira - A Revolução pelo Afeto

Eis o nome de mais uma mostra incrível sobre essa médica que eu admiro e aprendo sempre com os trabalhos que ela revolucionou com seus clientes (assim que ela chamava os pacientes dela).

Bom, sabe que em 2019 fui oficineira e usei referências dela para compor os zines que os alunos produziram sobre construção de memórias.

Pois a exposição, no Sesc Belenzinho, reúne artes não só das pessoas que Nilse cuidou, como também trabalhos de artistas contemporâneos (aliás, teve artes que vi na exposição da Carolina Maria de Jesus).

Sinto falta mesmo é do catálogo. Puxa vida, seria uma boa ter essas preciosidades físicas. Olha, vou fazer um vídeo dos catálogos que tenho.

Arte só nos mostra que é revolucionária e que vale demais fazer!

Por falar em fazer, fui ao Sesc não só conferir a mostra, mas atualizar minha carteira de atividades. Após quase duas horas na fila e chorar porque nem consegui comprar o ingresso pro show da Ana Cañas, nem fazer o curso online que esgotou, saí de lá feliz, porque, como diria Jung: “No fundo, não descobrimos na pessoa com transtorno mental nada de novo ou desconhecido; encontramos nela a base de nossa própria natureza”.

  A mostra vai até 26 de março.

Ať si štiplavé jazyky říkají, co chtějí, pozice Romana Holého coby domácího funkstera č.1 je stále neotřesitelná. Důvodů by se našlo mnoho, ale hlavně je to talentovaný a pilný muzikant, který se vždy dokázal obklopit partou výtečných instrumentalistů. To je pak ve studiu respektive na koncertech hodně cítit. Poslední deska J.A.R. je dalším příkladem takové precizně šlapající funky mašiny. Každý nástroj má své místo a společně vytvářejí lahodně bohatý zvuk - saxíky, trubky, kytary, flétna, trombon i bicí - to vše podpořené klávesami takřka výhradního skladatele Holého. Nikdo zbytečně nesóluje a prospívá to vypalovačkám i oddechovkám. Chronickou slabinu - v podobě přespříliš chtěné "rapové" deklamace textařů Otty Klempíře a Michaela Viktoříka – se podařilo díkybohu překrýt. A to častým využíváním schopností pana vokalisty Dana Bárty. Ten zmíněné dvojici navíc zdatně přispěl při skládání textů, které jsou možná i proto o poznání laskavější než dřív. Aniž by však ubylo pověstného J.A.R.ovského humoru. Pobaví hlášky typu: "Don't move any kousek" či "V čase volným vola dělám" a příznivci pokleslých songů osmdesátých let zaplesají při citaci pionýrského hitu „Formule z formely“ v diskošce Nerváček. Zvláštní kapitolou je sebeironizující „Náš klan“, kde se objeví snad všichni, co mají s partou kolem Holého co do činění. Zkrátka a dobře, tahle deska rozhodně udělá radost těm, kterým funky bandy přirostly k srdci.

Vítr dávno zavál doby, kdy hudební kritikové po celém světě skloňovali slovo Seattle ve všech pádech, nosily se flanelové kostkované košile a kdo tehdy neznal termín grunge, mohl si připadat tragicky. Ten čas je pryč, ale i dnes si ho můžeme čas od času připomenout. Třeba díky legendě, která na rozdíl od jiných - viď Kurte - vcelku úspěšně přežila. Aktuální kousek „Riot Act“ představuje (v tom nejlepším slova smyslu) jakousi konzervu počátku devadesátých let. Pearl Jam zde jsou k slyšení v klasickém rockovém rozestavení - Jeff Ament (basa), Stone Gossard (kytara), Mike McCready (kytara) a Matt Cameron (bicí). Samozřejmě nechybí frontman Eddie Vedder (kytara, vokál). Neprobíhají tu žádné hry na inovace. Na rozdíl od těch dnešních populárních rockerů, se Pearl Jam klidně obejdou bez rekvizity v podobě scratchujícího Dje. Poctivě řežou do kytar, jako by se venku nechumelila zima 2003. Mezi skladbami bezesporu upoutá Vedderova romantická „I am Mine“ a Amentova houpavá „Help Help“. Ale „Riot Act“ nestojí a nepadá s jednou písní. Je to vyvážené album, kterému nechybí rasantní kusy ani pohodovky. Máte-li rádi rock, roztřesené vokály a hýčkáte si vzpomínky na flanel, stejně vám už tohle CD dávno bydlí v přehrávači. Protože tohle je hudba pro oddané.

Při poslechu debutové desky této dvojice máte neodbytný pocit, že byste raději měli řádit někde v narvaném klubu a šátrat po laserech. Případně se masochisticky kochat pohledem na kožíškáře žvýkající lightsticky ? Jenže ono to doma jaksi nejde. Přitom, viděno z pohledu domácí tech-houseové produkce, jde o počin rozhodně nadprůměrný. Pánové Richard Tauchman a Risto Sokolovski svým duckám skutečně rozumějí a jako garanta si navíc přizvali Nilse Hesse z Get Fucked. Který se ujal masterování. Výslednému tvaru se tedy z profesionálního hlediska nedá téměř nic vyčíst. Kvalitní výsledný sound, skladby se zvučnými hosty: Charlie One (Fishbones), DJ Tráva (Point Zero) plus Dušan Lipert (Demonstration), jehož úkolem byl i finální mix a editing. Problém je ale v tom, že album „First Flight“, kolem vás skutečně proletí. A to aniž by ve vás zanechalo zásadnější zvukový vjem. Z šalblony tech-houseových - ruky hore - výpalů, vystupuje jen invenční „Demonstration“. A paradoxně nejvíc upoutá rytmicky osamělá dubovka „Keep It Going“. „First Flight“ je bohužel jen dalším z řady nesporně kvalitních, ale nijak vyjímečných tanečních alb.

Mr. Scruff - Trouser Jazz

O třetí řadové desce Andy Carthyho kolovaly různé zvěsti. Prý se za prvé odprostil od své pověstné rybí obsese. A za druhé se mu zalíbilo v houseových rytmech. Kdo jej už někdy zaslechl, tak trochu ví, co může čekat. Bývalý student výtvarného umění na sheffieldské univerzitě, je vyhlášený hudební žertéř. Navíc si sám (a doma) dělá i úsporně kreslená videa, která plní bizarní osudy typických postaviček. Solitér Carthy je milovníkem zaprášených samplů, které v jeho hudebním světě nacházejí nové a nové inkarnace. Nová “Trouser Jazz“ je rozhodně tou nejskočnější z jeho desek. Třináct tracků nabízí muziku, jejímž cílem je dělat radost a lze je označit i za pokus vyvést posluchače z chmurných nálad. Nic víc, nic míň. „Trouser Jazz“ swinguje, funkuje, housuje a jazzuje. Zvlášť retronáladovka „Come On Grandad“ hraje v tomto ohledu jasné prim. Ale dostalo se i na hip-hopové fandy. Konkrétně ve skladbě „Vibrate“. A pokud by vám při poslechu kalhotového jazzu absence rybího elementu opravdu vadila, při závěrečném - a rozhodně nejbláznivějším - autobiografickém songu „Ahoy There!“ si všechno vynahradíte.

technically cheating because it's two people, but Ervá and Nilse.

Ervá and Nilse are the parents of Iduna, and thus Elsa's maternal grandparents. Elsa has only whispered stories from her mother, and never learns their names until she is told more by Yelena. Iduna couldn't risk her cover story of being the daughter of Greta and Torra. But she could always feel how much her mother still grieved for her parents.

As adventurous as her daughter, Ervá would spend her days under the sun and her evenings curled up in her husband's arms. Iduna was her pride and joy. The shawl she knitted for her child was infused with pure parental adoration. It's a feeling that passes down through the generations to the granddaughters she never got to know. When Iduna was just five, invaders came to their village. With little other choice, Ervá instructed her little girl to hide and took up a weapon beside the other adults. They were no match to the invaders and all were slaughtered. Yelena thankfully found Iduna not long after the massacre. However several weeks passed before anyone could find the bodies and when they did, it was impossible to discern which remains belonged to whom. Ervá was buried with her husband and fellow villagers.

Nilse was always a kind man. Always willing to help out and pitch in. Very much the type that just got on with things, but his laugh was always deep and contagious. Like most of his village, he was a reindeer herder. A quiet man but with deep feelings, who would do anything for his wife and daughter. Nilse could always be relied on to help if someone asked for it. Leaving Iduna that day broke his heart, a man who had happily worn her in a sling on his chest when she was still just a baby and would hold her close when nightmares woke her, but he knew he needed to do whatever he could to keep her safe. He died attempting to protect Ervá from one of the invaders.
