Tigersmoon Jar
That is right I make moon jars with tiger stripes. I even add phases of the moon to lids. These are my Tigersmoon jars, I truly do love the simplicity of their form.
In answer to possible questions no this is not where my company name came from I have had this ame for many years. Long before I explored horsehair pottery, however the beauty of the form called to me fo a while befor somone pointed out the namesake.

So yesterday I told you about http://aseelapp.com where you can go to donate aid for Afghan people who are hungry or need heat for winter, or buy directly from Afghan artisans.
My main platform has been twitter for years but, well, you know. Anyway my routine is that on weekends I boost a campaign to my followers so here's a link to help people in Herat Province:
Tumblr media
Herat is the large province highlighted in red. The population is about 3 million, and around 80% of those people live in rural areas raising saffron or sheep, weaving carpets, or quarrying marble. Only about a quarter of households have access to clean water.
Also while I have you here, let me wreck your budget. It takes about a month for things to get from Afghanistan to me here in North Carolina so if you want to order for Christmas your deadline is RIGHT NOW. Let me make some suggestions!
Tumblr media
https://aseelapp.com/en_us/lapis%20ring%20for%20men4.html
Afghanistan has enormous amounts of lapis lazuli deposits and you can find a lot of gorgeous things made from it ranging from jewelry to candlesticks. The Dari word for lapis is lajaward (لاجورد) which probably derives from the place in Badakhshan, Afghanistan, where it has historically been mined.
Nematullah and Brotheran has your gorgeous lapis bowls, picture frames, etc
Mr Haneif at Nuristan Fashion has wool waistcoats, long coats, and patu!! A patu is a large 100% wool shawl worn by Afghan men. Buying one was the best decision I ever made as there's nothing better than wrapping up in a big length of wool.
Do you drink tea? Let me introduce you to Mr Wakil at the Istalefi Pottery Shop! Among other things he makes absolutely amazing teapots. I have a few things from him and another on the way. Here is the small bowl I eat my snacks from!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For merchants, Aseel is a platform like Etsy. You are buying from an Afghan artisan and helping them keep their family fed and clothed and warm. I recommend using the "Shop by Brand" option as it will show you only Afghan shops.
I volunteer my time with the Aseel team doing... Basically this. I'm also constantly trying to convince them to tell sellers to raise prices because they're criminally low but no dice so far.

big post of all my random rvb au ideas and some hcs, decided this was more reasonable than making like 20 different posts.
Hc the freelancers who die are like submarines that go missing, officially still out on patrol. Florida is the only freelancer that is officially gone from the program. A rumor starts that the freelancers suits are in some way connected to the us states so people think that when florida (state) blew up, so did Agent Florida's armour killing him in the process
(I'm an ace Tucker believer) Y'know how Tucker gets charged child support for a bunch of kids post chorus? I don't think he has any kids outside of Junior. I think a bunch of people who got pregnant post temple of procreation were like shit idk the kids other parent. Uhhhh. Let's just say it was the rich famous planetary hero guy who claims to have slept with everyone. He probably doesn't even remember the people he's slept with. And then Tucker, asexual who has had sex one (1) time and realised he didnt like it very much, is stuck between revealing to the whole goddamn planet that he doesnt actually fuck, and paying a billion dollars of child support.
In an everyone lives no one dies type au I think Donut gets Maine, Locus, South, and Wash to come to his wine and cheese hour and he does their makeup and their nails.
Au where Sigma is just so fucking invested in getting Maine and Wash to date that he doesnt do anything evil. "Agent Maine, I think you will find this course I have signed you up for quite informative" Sigma this is a couples wine and pottery class "Oh look, is that Agent Washington over there? you should go say hi."
Au where Wash and Epsilon bond. It still fucks Wash up and shit, cause yknow. Epsilon issues. But Wash goes like "I am going to fucking kill the director he fucked you ai over so much" And Epsilon is so taken aback bc of Alphas view of Wash from an outside, heavily filtered perspective made him seem happy go lucky, innocent, and a bit naive.
Au where the freelancers find out that the director is Linas dad and behind her back they're all like "hey is she okay? why does he talk to her like that?" but then whenever she's around they just accuse her of nepotism. Gamma and Sigma team up to hack the leaderboard and change her name to nepotism baby.
I love South. I wish she existed more. I wish her and North and Theta could have gotten along. I wish Theta could suit jump like Omega and Alpha. I wish Theta could spend time with South. Like yeah South wouldn't like having to share an ai with her brother but like. He's their littlest brother.
Junior and Theta could autism bond. I think they'd both like comics. Also Junior teaches Theta basketball and Theta teaches Junior to skate. Skateboard kid plus scooter kid. I think Palomo would like to skateboard too. Wash and Palomo both helped teach Theta to skateboard. Wash bc he's friends w North, Palomo bc he's at the skatepark frequently. Jensen roller skates, she's... okay at it. not good. but okay. She broke her tailbone trying to impress Palomo. Andersmith would work at a youth center that the teens hang out at. Matthews works at a movie theatre, Bitters watches a movie there every week, maybe just to see Matthews.
Sarge werebear. Simmons vampire. Grif faun. Donut Light Elemental. Lopez is a ghost that got stuck in a shitty robot Sarge built. Church and the ai are ghosts, Tex is a vampire, Caboose is a werewolf (big doggy :3). Siren Tucker. Deep sea mermaid Junior (glowing octopus type stuff). Faun Kai (same as Grif). Carolina’s a Phoenix. Wash some kind of big cat thing. Florida Shapeshifter (he prefers being reptiles). The twins are demons. 479er is a harpy. York poltergeist (throws stuff at people). Wyoming's some kind of “answer my riddles three” type of imp. Ct is also a shapeshifter. Maine’s just a regular guy with a lot of weird friends. Felix and Locus are a fire elemental and a dryad respectively. Siris is a water elemental. In my au Donut’s a light elemental which makes it so fucking funny if Church pops up and says "boo" Donut just fucking decks him. and through Church being a ghost (a form of light) and Donut being a light elemental, Donut’s fist connects. South is the demon people are more likely to fear, but North is the one you really need to look out for. When South loses her temper people get frightened, when North loses his temper people die. If there's like. a group of kids exploring or something North’ll hold South back from doing anything more than scaring them. If there's a priest attempting an exorcism or someone with a cross threatening South, their organs will be found separately from their bodies.
It's kinda funny when people make Church and Lina siblings and then Tex is just some random girl that Church likes. Like I fully understand why and the only other alternative i can think of is like. Church is the director's younger brother who was raised alongside his daughter after their parents died. and Tex is Allison's younger sister. Only way I could put together Church kinda being the director and Tex kinda being Allison but also Church and Lina being siblings without there being any relation between Tex and Church.
Florida and Ct have a coworker friends relationship i think. When they first met I think Florida said something vague and threatening to her so she pulled a knife on him. They've been sort of friends ever since.

Traditionally, the people now known as Cherokee refer to themselves as Aniyunwiya (ah nee yun wee yah), a name usually translated as "the Real People," sometimes "the Original People."
▪The Cherokee never had princesses. This is a concept based on European folktales and has no reality in Cherokee history and culture. In fact, Cherokee women were very powerful. They owned all the houses and fields, and they could marry and divorce as they pleased. Kinship was determined through the mother's line.
Clan mothers administered justice in many matters. Beloved women were very special women chosen for their outstanding qualities. As in other aspects of Cherokee culture, there was a balance of power between men and women. Although they had different roles, they both were valued.
▪The Cherokee never lived in tipis. Only the nomadic Plains tribes did. The Cherokee were southeastern woodland natives, and in the winter they lived in houses made of woven saplings, plastered with mud and roofed with poplar bark. In the summer they lived in open-air dwellings roofed with bark.
▪The Cherokee have never worn feathered headdresses except to please tourists. These long headdresses were worn by Plains Natives and were made popular through Wild West shows and Hollywood movies. Cherokee men traditionally wore a feather or two tied at the crown of the head. In the early 18th century, Cherokee men wore cotton trade shirts, loincloths, leggings, front-seam moccasins, finger-woven or beaded belts, multiple pierced earrings around the rim of the ear, and a blanket over one shoulder. At that time, Cherokee women wore mantles of leather or feathers, skirts of leather or woven mulberry bark, front-seam moccasins, and earrings pierced through the earlobe only. By the end of the 18th century, Cherokee men were dressing much like their white neighbors. Men were wearing shirts, pants, and trade coats, with a distinctly Cherokee turban. Women were wearing calico skirts, blouses, and shawls. Today Cherokee people dress like other Americans, except for special occasions, when the men wear ribbon shirts with jeans and moccasins, and the women wear tear dresses with corn beads, woven belts, and moccasins.
▪The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) are descended from Cherokee people who had taken land under the Treaty of 1819 and were allowed to remain in North Carolina; from those who hid in the woods and mountains until the U.S. Army left; and from those who turned around and walked back from Oklahoma. By 1850 they numbered almost a thousand. Today the Eastern Band includes about 11,000 members, while the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma claims more than 100,000 members, making the Cherokee the largest tribe in the United States.
▪Cherokee arts and crafts are still practiced: basket-weaving, pottery, carving, finger-weaving, and beadwork.
▪The Cherokee language is spoken as a first language by fewer than a thousand people and has declined rapidly because of the policies of federally operated schools. However, since the tribe has begun operation of their own schools, Cherokee language is being systematically taught in the schools.
▪Traditional Cherokee medicine, religion, and dance are practiced privately.
▪There have never been Cherokee shamans. Shamanism is a foreign concept to North America. The Cherokee have medicine men and women.
▪"aho" is not a Cherokee word and Cherokee speakers never use it. Most are actually offended by the misuse of this word. It's not some kind of universal Native word used by all tribes, as many believe. Each individual tribe have their own languages. We can respect these languages by using them correctly or not at all.
▪In order to belong to one of the seven Cherokee clans, your mother had to have been/be Cherokee and her clan is passed on to you. If the maternal line has been broken by a non Cherokee or someone had all sons, you have no clan, which is the case with many today.
▪There is only one Cherokee tribe that consist of three bands. The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, United Keetoowah Band of Oklahoma and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians of North Carolina. All others who claim a different band than one of the three above are not considered Cherokee and are a direct threat to Cherokee tribal sovereignty. In fact, to be Cherokee, one must be registered with the tribe, as Cherokee is a citizenship granted through documentation. One can have Native DNA but is not considered Cherokee until they are a registered tribal citizen.

TRISTA HUDZIK POTTERY
Leicester , North Carolina
"Nothing feels as nostalgic and sweet as a bouquet of handpicked flowers.  I try to capture this simple joy in the spontaneity of my work. On a artistic level, I am inspired by american folk potters, korean folk potters, mexican and south american folk potters, as well as,  spanish and portuguese folk potters.  Some of my favorite contemporary potters include Michael Kline, Kyle Carpenter, Victoria Christen, Molly Hatch, Ruggles and Rankin, Bandana Pottery, Chandra DeBuse, Sue Tirrell and Julia Galloway."

Item #: SCP-7548
Object class: Safe
Special containment procedures: only one SCP-7548 instance should be kept in a facility, except for special cases. Under typical circumstance, they are to be rotated between foundation sites at regular intervals.
The instances are to be referred to as SCP-7548-a, SCP-7548-b, and so on. Instances are labelled.
SCP-7548 instances should either be kept in an item storage locker in facility sector 12, or in an arts and crafts room if the site has one. Personnel of clearance Level 2 or higher are permitted to use SCP-7548 unsupervised.
Personnel with security clearance of Level 0 and Level 1 may be granted supervised access to an SCP-7548 instance at any time. Well behaved D-Class may also be permitted to use it outside of testing, if they ask.
Senior researchers and senior security staff can request to keep SCP-7548-1 items as office decor. Any SCP-7548-1 items not being researched or used as decor are to be kept in any available storage space until pickup day, which is on the twelfth every month.
On pickup day, the SCP-7548-1 items in storage are to be put into padded boxes and carefully loaded onto the foundations disguised "mover" trucks.
The specific type of boxes used should be the foundation's #71, #98, and #433 type padded boxes, as these are 30.48 by 30.48, 91.44 by 91.44, and 60.96 by 60.96 centimeters respectively. If any SCP-7548-1 items are unable to be stored in a padded box of any of those sizes, then the item can simply be held by a non-driving worker for the duration of the trip. Each non-driving worker is to hold only one SCP-7548-1 item at most.
In the instance of too many large SCP-7548-1 items and not enough workers for all of them, the items can simply be left in site storage where they are until the 12th of the next month.
The number of trucks should be as few as possible, but in the instance that there are enough SCP-7548-1 items to fill more than 12 trucks, then 12 more trucks should be requested, and the items divided between all 24. In the instance that there are too many to fit in 24 trucks, then the process should be repeated.
The SCP-7548-1 items are to be transported to the SCP foundation front known as "Steve's Clay Pottery", which is a pottery store in North Carolina. The SCP-7548-1 items are to be transported into the basement, removed from their boxes, and carefully placed on the available shelves.
In the instance of an SCP-7548-1 item breaking, you are to get out of proximity as quickly as possible and wait an hour before returning. Upon returning, the remains of the item are to be quickly bagged and sent to Steve's Clay Pottery. Upon arrival, they are to be taken to the basement and tossed into the bin with anomalous properties* tossed into the bin labelled as "oopsies".
The foundation knows the locations of all 11 wheels, and keeps tabs on them as well as possible. Currently, there are 7 wheels kept by the foundation, 4 wheels kept by different groups of interest, and one wheel that has been "decommissioned" by the GOC.**** Several researchers have stated that there is more than likely a twelfth wheel somewhere, but this wheel is yet to be found.
SCP-7548 instances have shown a "fondness" for the number 12. It is advised that if a situation or event not covered by the special containment ever occurs, then the number 12 should be a constant in the surroundings of the objects.
Information about the origins of this precaution can be found in the addendum for test-0127.
Description: SCP-7548 refers to a series of white pottery wheels. There are a total of 11 known wheels, each has a diameter measuring 30.48 centimeters. The wheels each have a line cord measuring 3.658 meters, with a three-pronged plug at the end. The SCP-7548 instances are operated by pedal. By design, all instances of SCP-7548 appear to be completely identical, in both appearance and operation.
The wheels operate best when plugged in, but when unplugged they are still capable of twelve additional hours of continual spin. It is currently unknown where this power is stored, as the wheels contain no trace of a visible battery.** This is considered an anomalous property of the wheels.
The ability to hold a charge makes them somewhat useful during breaches or GOI attacks where the power may be cut off, as both the act of creating and the act of watching somebody create pottery has a calming effect.*** This reduces the likelihood of mental breakdowns and panic attacks in SCP staff in the proximity of SCP-7548 instances during stressful situations.
The main anomalous property of SCP-7548 instances is found in SCP-7548-1.
***the calming effect of creating pottery with SCP-7548 instances was originally regarded as an anomalous effect of the wheels. This however has since been proven by multiple psychologists to be an effect consistent with creating regular pottery using non-anomalous wheels. Dr. ████████, who was the head researcher at the time was quoted saying "in hindsight that was probably kind of obvious."
SCP-7548-1 refers to the pottery created using an SCP-7548 instance. SCP-7548-1 instances display minor space-bending properties. When measuring length, width, height, diameter, circumference, weight, and volume, the instance will show different measurements depending on where they are measured, measurements that should be completely impossible.
Addendum: [access currently only permitted to employees with clearance level [REDACTED] or above]
*section crossed out due to confusion. There are multiple bins in the basement of Steves Clay Pottery, but only one actually has anomalous properties. This resulted in multiple catastrophes due to non-anomalous bins being used by accident. Steve has since marked the correct bin with the word "oopsies".
**the current accepted theory is that the capability of holding a charge is an anomalous property. Considering the findings of test-0029, it is very unlikely that there is some battery that researchers have yet to find.
****the "decommissioned" wheel is actually a wheel currently owned by the foundation. The Global Occult Coalition has been led to believe that SCP-7548 consisted only of one instance, and were subsequently led to believe that they had successfully destroyed it. With information from test-0029, the wheel was successfully repaired. It is now one of the seven held by the foundation.

Horsehair lotus blossom #2. Lotus flowers are born of mud and muck. But because when they bloom and open the peddles inside are pure and clean they are a sign of purity. Some feel they cleanse and clean the world around them. This lotus has gone through much murcky and mess but like it's fellow blooms holds potential for pure beauty.

Generic Cherokee stuff
From N. Bear, at the Cherokee Museum in North Carolina:
