hi. it's sqh/yqy again. you're going to need to read the preceding segment of this for it to make sense.

1 - Critical Failure!

The thing about Yue Qingyuan was that he was really fucking good at this whole cultivation thing. It wasn't for nothing that OP protagonist son Bing-ge had to catch Yue Qingyuan in a trap first to get a good chance at killing him! Even now, years before he'd really hit his prime, Yue Qingyuan was the perfect model cultivator, with a strong and expertly trained body, and, relevantly to this situation, actually pretty fast and possessed of a very good reaction time.

All this to say, Shang Qinghua got out the window.

He did not get much further than the window, because Yue Qingyuan also dove out the window (gracefully!) and (less gracefully!) proceeded to bodily tackle Shang Qinghua.

There was some rolling and shouting and flailing involved. Let it not be said that Shang Qinghua went down without a fight! Or at least without some screaming and crying!

Yue Qingyuan still managed to pin Shang Qinghua down, because of course he did.

"I'm not a chair, stop sitting on me!"

"Just a moment, I really do--" Yue Qingyuan paused to deal with Shang Qinghua's elbow to his face and also slam it down so Shang Qinghua couldn't elbow him again -- "appreciate -- your concern. But there's really no need to bother Shen-shidi with these things, so if you could just -- hold still--"

"Hahaha, no way bro!" Shang Qinghua said, and bit him.

Was this a smart decision? Not really, but it sure was satisfying!

Yue Qingyuan made a noise that could have been an aborted swear. "Shang-shidi, I don't think that was necessary."

"Necessary is a subjective term!" Shang Qinghua said. "It's necessary to turn in paperwork, but have you seen how many people I need to chase down for that?? Clearly the definition isn't universal!"

"That's not the same --"

"It's absolutely the same!"

"You don't bite them!"

"And what if I did? Maybe I should!! Maybe they'll learn to fill out the requisition forms correctly then!!!"

"That isn't--" Yue Qingyuan exhaled. "This isn't... are you... still going to tell Qingqiu?"

"I don't know, am I???"

"It's... private. Please don't tell him."

"If I don't, will you?"

Yue Qingyuan laughed. It was an empty and unpleasant sound. "He wouldn't want me reminding him how I failed." His head drooped down, closer to Shang Qinghua's chest. "I broke my promise, Shang-shidi. Who wants to hear about that again?"

...Was Yue Qingyuan about to cry on him?

.Wow! This situation was already uncomfortable! It was about to get even more uncomfortable!

"If I say I won't," Shang Qinghua wheedled, "then will you get off me."

Having the thighs of a strong and beautiful cultivator on either side of him was the stuff of the shitty romance novels he still liked reading. Every man's dream! Super sexy! Except the romance novels never accounted for when the cultivator was about to have a nervous breakdown! Opposite of sexy, actually!

"You still want to tell him, don't you?" Yue Qingyuan said. "I don't think it'll be better that way. Even if it's you and not me -- especially if it's you and not me -- won't it be worse? Wouldn't he just be angry that I couldn't tell him myself?"

"Isn't this conversation pointless if you're not planning on telling him yourself?" Shang Qinghua said.

Yue Qingyuan looked down at him with big, sad eyes. "Qinghua, please don't say anything."

Ah? Aaah?? Was Yue Qingyuan trying puppy-dog eyes? That wasn't going to work, Yue-shixiong! Too bad! People did that on An Ding everyday! Shang Qinghua was immune! He had no sympathy!

"Don't cry on me," Shang Qinghua said.

Yue Qingyuan laughed again.

Somebody choked.

It was... not Shang Qinghua. It was very much a sound Shang Qinghua would make, but...

Shang Qinghua tilted his head back, and there it was. A little Qiong Ding disciple coming through the brush, scroll in hand, probably playing messenger boy. He was staring at them, wide-eyed and white-faced.

Shang Qinghua suddenly became horribly aware of his position -- Yue Qingyuan on top of him, straddling his hips, pinning his hands over his head, both of them disheveled and breathing hard. He'd been bucking up to try to get Yue Qingyuan off, but at first glance, it looked like... well, that he was, ha, trying to get Yue Qingyuan off. You know, the other way.

"Ah," Yue Qingyuan said, in the tone of someone who was experiencing the same revelation as Shang Qinghua and was just beginning to conceptualize the impact of it on his honorable and righteous reputation.

This would be really funny if Shang Qinghua was not involved.

"I see Da-shixiong is busy with private matters!" squeaked the little Qiong Ding shidi. "Sorry to interrupt! I'll come back later!"

"That's not necessary," Yue Qingyuan began, hastily straightening up. Ah, but that was too little, too late. Shidi was already way out of earshot and disappearing into the distance, clearly intent on respecting the privacy of Da-shixiong.

"So," Shang Qinghua said conversationally, "what are the chances your shidi is going to tell everyone not to disturb you because you're busy?" He put as much suggestiveness in the last word as he possibly could, just so Yue Qingyuan got the point.

Yue Qingyuan winced. "Yan-shidi is... not subtle."

"So everyone's going to know this happened."

"... Likely, yes."

"And they're all going to think we were about to fuck nasty outside."

"Um," Yue Qingyuan said.

Yue Qingyuan was still sitting on him.

Shang Qinghua let the back of his head hit the ground with a thump. "Fuck."

I'm not a big creator on here. But the first person I met when I joined the fandom was May, and she has been so supportive. I loved messaging back and forth with her, bouncing ideas off one another and chatting about life.

A few months ago, she told me about some toxic people who were targeting her and saying incredibly horrible things that were truly upsetting. At that time, I chose to distance myself from them and not engage with any of their writing (really wish I'd taken myself off the tag lists) - though May told me I should read their work because she's a kind person who still wanted to support other creators.

Before she deactivated, May let me know what was going on. I was able to send her an email and we've kept in touch. She let me know last night that she lost her job, and I wasn't able to respond until this morning. It's been heartening to see the outpouring of support, and I made sure to pass that along. It has also been heartbreaking to see how two-faced the suspected people who did the doxing are. Seeing them send posts about loving and supporting others, knowing what they've done? The kind of disgusting things they've said to someone, and the actions they took? I've chosen to block them at this point. I hope they get what's coming to them.

I say this as a human and as a mental health professional - protect your peace. If that means disengaging with this platform, do it. I have been shocked by how toxic folks can be here, and I really hope that people use this moment to reflect on their actions. To the person(s) who did it (this may get back to your dash somehow), I hope you understand the magnitude of what you did and that you meet someone exactly like you in the future.

At this point, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I very much love the fic that I've read on here, and there are some very supportive folks. I may lurk and reblog, but I'm not sure about posting my writing. It is so strange to not be screaming about a chapter in my chat with May.

WAIT! Hold up. Rewind a second. Is Rosiepuff still alive by this point? Please tell me she lived to see that Branch survived.

Second question, does band together happen or do the reunions happen some other way? Because I don't really see how it would work. In Band Together Floyd got grabbed because he was traveling Solo in Mount Rageous. Here, if I'm reading this right, he and JD are living with the Techno Trolls nowhere close to the city. So how does it work? Do they hear gossip about the Pop trolls wrecking the rock concert and just happen to hear Branch's name? Or do they just happen to be visiting their grandma as the Borrowers are settling in and have the greatest surprise of their lives?

Either way I'd just like to suggest a bit of a roll reversal when meeting the Putt-Putts in that Poppy recognizes Viva before Viva recognizes Poppy. Like Viva was a teenager during the escape, her appearance wouldn't have changed so much that you couldn't connect the dots. On the other hand, the last Viva saw of Poppy was a toddler screaming for her in a collapsing tunnel. Something you would not connect to this grown ass 20 something year old woman that randomly just showed up one day.

First yes rosiepuff is alive she did survive! Second John Dory and Floyd are staying with the techno trolls rn seeing as Floyd is getting married and jd is hiding from his ex(she wants to kill him) and they have been in contact with grandma rosiepuff since they left the tree but they don’t meet him then.

the brothers actually meet during world tour. After the techno string was taken Floyd worried about how it’ll affect spire and echo vows to get it back taking jd with him. Branch, poppy and creek(he replaces biggie) go off just like in the movie branch way more skeptical than in canon. Basically they run into each other at lonesome flats.

Still have a few things too plan out but that’s basically where our main three meet and they meet Bruce and clay during band together

Also poppy would immediately recognize viva absolutely. And viva not only wouldn’t recognize her but as of right now she thinks she died in the tunnel collapse so it’s gonna be a surprise for both viva and clay when they find out their baby sibs are alive.

And the third movie happens differently but I’m still figuring out how so right now I’m only focusing on the borrowers and world tour.

“Such a pity, that one.” Lestat steps through the mausoleum threshold, tight-laced boots clacking against the cold stone as he makes his way towards the deliciously slender silhouette hunched by the grave at the end. 

He’d like to think he could find his way back to this place with his eyes shut, or walking backwards through the rain. Even if each and every marker in the St. Louis cemetery were upturned or washed away, he could still find my way back to the earth which holds just a bit of his lover’s heart. The city may change, but the old bones will always remain. And Louis will always belong to the old soil.

“Such beauty. Such youth. Taken all too soon.” He heaves a sigh as he waits for said silhouette to retreat from his melancholy daze.

Even in the darkness, Lestat catches a glimpse of the red-rimmed evidence of tears, hastily wiped but still leaving behind a rusty coloring against the ghastly pale of Louis’ skin as he turns around. He had fed tonight, Lestat can tell by the smell of some vagrant clinging to his clothes. But the tears take so much out of them. 

What a tender ghost Louis makes, haunting his own grave.

It makes Lestat’s heart ache yet still he cannot seem to stop himself from pressing on: “They say he went mad, in the end. Ran his plantation into the ground. But what a way to go! He looked so fine, even when he was gambling away his fortune and drinking away his wits in the riverside taverns. Even then, he had such lovely burning cynicism. Even then he had that spellbound longing in his eyes.”

Behind his back, he carries a bouquet of flowers. Fresh lilies from the darling florist two blocks down. Lestat smiles as he walks closer, and even he cannot tell if it is cruel or genuine, but still he brings one hand up to tuck a wisp of hair behind Louis’ ear. 

“Do you think anyone remembers him?”

“Why are you here, Lestat?”

I dont like it when people say hobie is any older than 18. Mainly because there's always a huge trend in which people think black kids look older than they are but also because he just...isn't? Like I know, people say you have to be 18 to drink in pubs in the Uk, which isn't exactly true. You can drink alcohol from 16 if you have a meal with your drink or have an adult with you , and underage drinking is a huge thing in the UK, it is not shocking to see 17, 16 sometimes even 15 year olds drinking most of the time 16/17 year olds have direct permission from their parents to drink. Plus, Hobie isn't exactly all for authority figures telling him what to do, I highly doubt he would wait until he was 18 to drink.

But at least with that, I can understand it. It's just a misunderstanding in some cultural differences, but what I can't get over is Gwen. I dont ship Gwen and Hobie, but it's an implication that Miles and the writers put into this movie. One of them literally said that there would be a love triangle between Miles, Hobie, and Gwen (which wasn't true but i digress) they wouldn't have that, or even imply thay in a movie like this if Hobie was an adult. Gwen is 15/16. Having Hobie be any older than 18 at Max is already pushing the boundaries of a comfortable implied relationship they have there.

Plus, Hobie's pretty much always been described as a "foul-mouthed teenager" in the comics.

And, this is coming from someone who read the spiderpunk comics before atsv came out. He is not an adult, and people really have to stop saying that he is because it's getting on my nerves.

My mom just sent a message to the family group chat suggesting that my siblings download the 'For the Strength of Youth' magazine on their Gospel Library app and talked about how much the youth magazines helped her testimony growing up and like, cool. Fine. Don't know why the 'sending random spiritual thoughts in the gc' thing started out of nowhere when it hadn't been a thing for a decade but this is just another one of those, and you're ofc allowed to talk about things that are significant in your life.

okay so i’ve been talking about this fic ever since i made my tumblr account... you might also know it as my favourite kuroo fic ever or maybe just favourite fic ever because it’s That good... written by one of my favourite fic writers ever... and i would have rec’d it sooner if not for the fact that the author took the fic down to rewrite it and the day i clicked on my bookmark of the fic and found out that the fic was privated was the absolute Worst day of my life BUT we are all good now and today is the best day of my life in fact because!!! she reuploaded it!!! and this fic is good luck, have fun by ao3 user wanderwithme <333 i love her and her fics so much i even have a hashtag for it (see below LOL)

i adore this fic for soooo many reasons but to keep it short (and to avoid spoilers), here are three main things i love about this fic under the cut!!!! 

1. it has kuroo in it. duh. okay but this kuroo is truly unlike any other kuroo i’ve read!!! he is... very normal. and i mean that in a good way; normal as in he isn’t a person who’s crazily outstanding or extraordinary. but he’s still great, he’s a good friend to kenma (very good friend in fact), a good boyfriend to reader, a good captain to the nekoma team. he simply does his best to quietly elevate everyone else around him. he’s sweet, respectful, kind, and so so smiley in this, he gives me the craziest butterflies. what i like about this kuroo is that he seems very attainable and almost boy-next-door. this kuroo makes me feel safe; and i can guarantee you that you’ve never read a kuroo like this (or at least i haven’t)

2. the writing style. this goes for all of her fics!!! it’s the total opposite of mine which is why i think i like it so much -- it’s punchy, succinct, straight to the point but still filled with so, so much detail. the worldbuilding is subtle but still so good, and overall her fics are easy to read but still pack a punch. i read her jjk stuff too (and i think she writes more for jjk now!!!) tho i still don’t know anything about the anime despite watching it twice <3 i haven’t even met the lawyer dude but i’m obsessed with her new series with him which i am linking here (when you look at me like that, my darling, what did you expect?) if you wanna check it out : ) there are manga spoilers though so please tread carefully

3. the love between kuroo and reader -- it’s very simple and realistic!!! despite the misunderstandings (and god do i LOVE some good misunderstandings <333) you can really tell the pair of them trust and care for each other deeply. it’s very much show-not-tell in this fic and that’s why i love it. their love is a little playful, really sweet, really comfortable, and i love how it isn’t always like that -- reader falls slowly, then all at once, and it’s just so realistic and relatable. this isn’t something i can describe well, you have to read it to find out!

anyways i’ve blabbed on enough but that’s really just how much i love this fic so!!!! go read it!!!! smash the kudos button!!!!! leave the wonderful author a comment as well!!!! T^T

So the guy I like read my copy of The Silent Patient so we talked about it yesterday. He loved the book and he said he'd trust me on book recommendations from now on 🥺

So on Tuesday I'm giving him my copy of The Secret History, which is my favorite book of all time. Before I give it to him, I'm going to underline some of my favorite lines and put little flags at my favorite scenes 🥰 It'll be cute, like when Rory got her book back from Jess and when she opened it he had written his thoughts throughout the margins.

For the record, I was planning on marking up my copy of The Secret History anyway but now I'm more motivated to do so 😅

I already know he's going to have mixed feelings about the book so I'm looking forward to his reactions. He's supposed to be getting me a copy of his favorite fantasy series at some point too.

Finished reading a fic where, at one point they unintentionally unkilled a character (early on they were established as dead, later on mentioned that they were alive and well- with zero reaction from other characters) and when a commenter pointed it out in confusion the author legit wrote back "what is a story without inconsistencies" I'm gonna scream
