Congresswoman Lauren Boebert was filmed wordlessly threw throwing away a pamphlet calling for gun reform and sharing the story of Maite Rodriguez, one of the 19 students fatally shot in the 2022 Uvalde school massacre.
Anti-gun violence activist Sarah Fishkind filmed the interaction in the Capitol on Tuesday.
The Republican representative from Colorado is seen quickly grabbing the pamphlet and then throwing it in the trash, as a bystander is heard off-camera saying, “We hope you take action on gun violence prevention.”
In a separate video, the pamphlet is in a nearby trash can.
Tumblr media
Activists, including Parkland survivor David Hogg, condemned the interaction.
“Lauren Boebert just threw away a pamphlet of a mother fighting to honor her child who was gunned down and murdered in her classroom,” he wrote on Twitter. “This is how Congress treats survivors.”
The flier included testimony from Maite’s mother and a green pin, modeled after the green Converse sneakers the student’s family used to help identify her body.
“On that fateful morning, my daughter walked out of our home, not knowing she would never return to her mother,” the pamphlet read. “It was the last week of school and she was excited about watching movies with her friends.”
“Maite, her classmates, and her teachers were killed with an AT-15 style rifle in their classrooms. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,” it continued. “We must ban assault weapons in this country and protect our children.”
The Independent has contacted Rep. Boebert for comment.
Lives Robbed told The Independent in a statement, “The video of Rep. Boebert throwing out the pin of Maite’s Shoes is disgusting and beyond insulting. We will not be resharing the video.”
Ms. Boebert, who once ran a gun-themed restaurant in Colorado called Shooters Grill, is a staunch opponent of gun control laws.
In June, she was accused of blowing past gun violence survivors hoping to speak with her in Washington.
Tumblr media
She has previously compared new gun laws to banning planes after 9/11.
“When 9/11 happened, we didn’t ban planes,” she told Fox News earlier this year. “We secured the cockpit.”
“I want our schools secured, I want their children protected, and I want teachers that can protect themselves and their students,” she added. “And you know what? We can achieve this without trying to disarm law-abiding citizens.”
She has previously mocked Mr. Hogg online, telling him to “give it a rest” when he criticised her record on safety issues.

Boebert fondled date's penis in theater
We already knew that U.S. congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado) was vaping and distracting other theatergoers before being escorted out of a production of Beetlejuice in her home state Sunday night. Now, thanks to the good old enhance-and-zoom, we know she was fondling her date’s penis and having her breasts pawed by him, all in view of other attendees at the family-age show.
Tumblr media
Boebert cited the stress of her divorce for her behavior — that being a divorce from the man who was convicted for lewd exposure after flashing his penis at youngsters at a bowling alley. One of those youngsters was, of course, Rep. Lauren Boebert, who was so impressed by the behavior she later married him.
When Garfield County sheriff’s deputies arrived, McCown told them that he had repeatedly asked Jayson Boebert to leave the bowling alley but that Boebert had “refused to leave and became belligerent.” Lauren Boebert told deputies he had not exposed his penis, but had stuck his thumb through the fly of his pants as a prank. Trisha Walies disputed that in her account, writing: “I know that wasn’t a thumb because thumbs aren’t 6 inches long.” Lauren Roberts told deputies she had not seen Jayson Boebert expose himself.
Not long after that incident, Jayson Boebert found himself in trouble with the law again after a domestic violence incident (which has already been widely publicized) involving Lauren Roberts, his then-girlfriend and future wife. In February 2004, Jayson Boebert was arrested and charged with harassing and physically assaulting Lauren, and was convicted on those charges in November. He “did unlawfully strike, shove or kick … and subjected her to physical contact,” a Garfield County court clerk spokesman told The New York Post in January of 2021. Lauren Roberts had her first child later that year; it is unclear whether she was pregnant at the time of the assault.
In March, Rep. Lauren Boebert voted against the Violence Against Women Act, saying she was opposed to the bill because it would secure abortion rights and tweeting, “This expired amendment should be thrown out like rotten milk.”
Jayson and Lauren Boebert were married in June of 2007, after Jayson had concluded his probation for the lewd exposure conviction.

Controversy Surrounding Rep. Boebert's Theatre Incident Sparks Criticism
Conservative commentator Ann Coulter criticized US Rep. Lauren Boebert, labeling her an “embarrassing bimbo” following her removal from a Denver theater. Boebert, a hard-right Colorado congresswoman, was ejected alongside her date during a “Beetlejuice” musical performance for vaping and disruptive behavior.
Tumblr media
Video footage showed Boebert engaging in overtly intimate actions, prompting concerns during a family-friendly show recommended for children aged 10 and above. Boebert’s representatives remained silent regarding allegations of explicit conduct in a Lauren Boebert theatre meant for young audiences, drawing backlash from the LGBTQ+ community.
Expressing regret, Lauren Boebert attributed her behavior to a challenging divorce, acknowledging her actions fell short of her values. Criticism from former President Trump’s ex-attorney, Jenna Ellis, and political figures like Meghan McCain intensified, decrying Boebert’s conduct as disrespectful and contradictory to GOP principles.
Despite being right-wing proponents, Coulter, McCain, and Ellis expressed disappointment in Boebert’s actions. Ellis even cited reservations about supporting Trump’s potential third presidential bid due to his perceived narcissism. Boebert, now in her second term representing Colorado’s Third Congressional District, faces scrutiny amidst this controversy.

Rep. Boebert's Book Account Unveils Controversial Incident at Bowling Alley
A revelation in a recent book by the Republican representative sheds light on a contentious incident involving her husband at Fireside Lane bowling alley in Rifle, Colorado. The representative, Lauren Boebert, asserts in her book that the blame for the event, which led to her husband’s conviction for lewd exposure, lies with a 17-year-old bartender.
Tumblr media
According to Boebert, the bartender repeatedly asked to see Jayson Boebert’s “private” tattoo while they were out with friends and family. Rep. Lauren Boebert claims her husband did not expose himself but instead pretended to unzip his pants while intoxicated. The situation escalated when the bowling alley owner attempted to eject him, resulting in an altercation where Jayson threw chips and police were called.
Boebert’s book portrays a different perspective, asserting her husband’s innocence and attributing the incident to misunderstanding and alcohol-related issues. An arrest affidavit detailed conflicting claims from witnesses and Jayson Boebert, outlining his gesture and interactions with the women involved.
The affidavit reported Jayson Boebert’s denial of exposing himself, claiming he mimicked the gesture in jest. Nonetheless, observations noted alcohol on his breath. The book’s account sheds new light on a controversial episode, sparking discussions about the incident’s nuances and implications for both Boebert and Lauren Boebert’s husband .

Boebert's Spouse Convicted for 'Lewd Exposure' in Bowling Alley, Her Presence
In recent events, the political landscape surrounding Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., has been stirred by revelations about her husband, Jayson Steven Boebert. Reports surfaced indicating that the congresswoman failed to disclose Jayson’s lucrative employment within the natural gas industry while serving on the House Natural Resources Committee — oversight directly linked to this sector’s regulation.
Tumblr media
However, this might not be the only undisclosed aspect regarding Jayson that Rep. Boebert has kept from public scrutiny. In January 2004, at the age of 24, Jayson Boebert faced an arrest for indecent exposure to two young women at a Colorado bowling alley. At that time, his now-wife, Lauren Roberts, aged 17, was also present and faced repercussions, being barred from the establishment.
According to The New York Post, Lauren Boebert husband admitted guilt to charges of “public indecency and lewd exposure,” resulting in a four-day jail term and subsequent two-year probation. Salon obtained a witness statement by Erica Anne Coombs, one of the involved young women, who resides in Rep. Boebert’s congressional district. Coombs detailed Jayson’s inappropriate behavior towards them, including explicit comments and inappropriate revelations.
During Rep. Lauren Boebert’s induction into the 117th Congress in 2021, Jayson Boebert notably appeared alongside House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. However, recent financial disclosures indicate Jayson’s potential earnings of almost $800,000 this year as a gas-drilling consultant for Terra Energy — a significant conflict of interest that was previously omitted in Boebert’s disclosures.
Despite Salon’s attempt to reach Jayson Boebert for comment, there has been no response.
This unraveling of undisclosed incidents surrounding Jayson Boebert could potentially cast shadows on Rep. Boebert’s political career and pose ethical questions regarding conflicts of interest within her congressional duties.

Rep. Boebert's Memoir: Debunking Scandal Surrounding Husband's Arrest.
In her latest memoir, “My American Life,” Representative Rep. Lauren Boebert addresses the controversy surrounding her husband, Jayson Boebert’s, arrest in 2004. Boebert asserts that despite the allegations, Jayson never exposed himself in a bowling alley bar as claimed, emphasizing he never committed the acts for which he was accused, arrested, and subsequently served jail time.
Tumblr media
The Republican congresswoman from Colorado refutes the accusations detailed in the book, pointing fingers at a 17-year-old bartender at the Fireside Lane bowling alley in Rifle, CO. Boebert contends that the bartender persistently asked to see Jayson’s private tattoo, provoking the incident.
According to Lauren Boebert’s account, on the night of the incident, she and Jayson were not officially married, and Jayson was attempting to bond with her stepfather. As conversations flowed over drinks, the female bartender showed interest in Jayson, egged on by rumors about a unique tattoo in a private area.
Boebert describes Jayson initially ignoring the bartender’s request but later giving in under the influence of alcohol. This led to a confrontation with the bowling alley owner, culminating in Jayson’s arrest after an altercation that included throwing fries at the owner.
The incident was previously reported by The New York Post, alleging Jayson exposed himself to two women at the bowling alley. Boebert doesn’t specify her whereabouts during the occurrence in her book but acknowledges Jayson’s arrest for “indecent exposure to a minor.”
While asserting Jayson’s innocence, Boebert concedes that he accepted a plea deal instead of contesting the charges in court. She emphasizes the ordeal prompted Jayson to seek alcohol and anger management classes included in the plea deal, suggesting a positive learning experience.
Boebert criticizes the lack of acknowledgment from “the Left” for Jayson’s efforts to rectify his behavior, attributing the incident’s aftermath to lessons learned rather than validating the accusations Lauren Boebert’s husband.

Lauren Boebert supports public urination criminalization despite husband's indecent exposure conviction Given the fact that her sex offender husband is criminally guilty of exposing his penis to a minor in a bowling alley, it seems curious that Rep. Lauren Boebert vehemently opposes any attempt to decriminalize public urination in Washington, DC. In the video below, Boebert can be seen hectoring Washington, D.C. — Read the rest https://boingboing.net/2023/03/29/lauren-boebert-supports-public-urination-criminalization-despite-husbands-indecent-exposure-conviction.html

LAUREN BOEBERT
The reason we had so many overreaching regulations in our nation is because the church complied. The church is supposed to direct the government. The government is not meant to direct the church. That is not how our Founding Fathers intended it. And I’m tired of this separation of church and state junk, that’s not in the Constitution. It was in a stinking letter and it means nothing like what they say it does.
-
REP. MAXWELL FROST
This threat to democracy has made its way to Congress. My colleague, Representative Lauren Boebert, said: 'The church is supposed to direct the government. The government is not supposed to direct the church. I'm tired of this separation of church and state junk.”
That junk being the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
The Bible itself in II Corinthians actually warns against this, Paul warned against this. He warned us against people who would preach of a Christ that differs from the true Christ that we learn about in the Bible. That’s exactly what christian nationalism is doing. I condemn religious extremism everywhere, globally and domestically, and we have to recognize the threat it poses to our most sacred freedoms and rooted out everywhere.
It’s incumbent especially on us as christians, me as a christian, to be at the forefront of the fight to make sure white nationalism and christian nationalism doesn’t see the light of day.

Representative Lauren Boebert, a Colorado Republican, took to Twitter on Sunday afternoon to complain about the Black National Anthem being performed during the Super Bowl.
Actress Sheryl Lee Ralph is slated to perform "Lift Every Voice and Sing," colloquially known as the Black National Anthem, ahead of the Sunday night football game. The song, written more than 100 years ago, emerged as a rallying cry during the civil rights movement, according to the NAACP. The NFL began including the song in its games following the Black Lives Matter protests that occurred during the summer of 2020, but the move has faced backlash from some conservatives.
Boebert became the latest prominent Republican to criticize the National Football League (NFL) over the song's inclusion, which will be performed alongside the "Star-Spangled Banner" and "America the Beautiful." The GOP lawmaker accused the league of attempting to "divide" Americans by including the Black National Anthem in the performance lineup.
"America only has ONE NATIONAL ANTHEM," she tweeted. "Why is the NFL trying to divide us by playing multiple!? Do football, not wokeness."
Tumblr media
Critics argued, however, that Boebert's tweet was more divisive than the inclusion of the performance. Condé Nast editor Luke Zaleski accused Boebert of "gaslighting" viewers.
"The gaslighting is the fact that she's using the concept of unity to divide. She's doing what she's accusing the NFL of. It's a fake grievance contrived to irk and produce the effect of further fracturing society," Zaleski tweeted.
"It's black history month. The song is meaningful to African Americans. It's also a historic game with 2 black quarterbacks, the first time ever. Get over yourself and your ridiculous white grievances. If you don't like it, don't watch. Simple," another Twitter user tweeted on Sunday in response to Boebert.
Tumblr media
Other conservatives have previously criticized the NFL over the song. In 2021, Fox News host Sean Hannity decried a performance as an attempt to "inject politics into sports." Several conservative pundits also complained when Vanessa Williams performed the song during a PBS Fourth of July special that same year.
WHAT IS THE BLACK NATIONAL ANTHEM?
NAACP leader James Weldon Smith first wrote "Lift Every Voice and Sing" in 1900. His brother, John Rosamond Johnson, composed the music for its lyrics, according to the NAACP.
The song was first performed by students at a segregated school in Jacksonville, Florida, to celebrate the birthday of President Abraham Lincoln, who presided over the emancipation of slaves during the American Civil War, according to the NAACP.
The song became a landmark of African American culture. According to Time magazine, it was performed during meetings in which civil rights leaders planned the Montgomery Bus Boycott and has been quoted in speeches by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Following the 2020 racial protests after the murder of George Floyd at the hands of police, the NFL sought to confront what many players have described as systemic racism following years of protests.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told The New York Times in 2021 that the inclusion of the song is "an opportunity to highlight messages that are important to the league, players and personnel and our communities."
"We've seen tremendous work done by our players to make an impact, and we can increase that through the high-visibility platform that the NFL provides," he said.
Newsweek reached out to Boebert's press office for further comment.

Source of claims against GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert threatened, political group says; police investigating
Source of claims against GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert threatened, political group says; police investigating
GLENWOOD SPRINGS — Sources working with a political group trying to oust Colorado’s incendiary Western Slope Congresswoman, Lauren Boebert, say they’ve recently received threats and now fear for their safety. One of those sources told The Denver Post they were threatened late last week at a health spa in Glenwood Springs, which concerned them enough to report the matter to police. The matter is…

“Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) wasn’t quite ready for showtime.
The conspiracy theorist lawmaker was given the boot from a touring production of “Beetlejuice” in Denver on Sunday for being disruptive, according to multiple reports.
The Denver Post said three theatergoers complained that Boebert and her companion were vaping, singing, recording the performance and causing a disturbance at the Buell Theatre.”
What a f—king clown and total embarrassment to Colorado and America. If you watch the video she’s clearly drunk and mouthing off. Of course there was the obligatory “do you know who I am” and “I’m going to call the mayor.” You can also see all the support staff at the theater smirking and laughing at the drunken whore as she’s being escorted to the door. The footage also shows her singing, waving her arms, laughing hysterically, and her new “boyfriend” twirling her at least three times. Yes boyfriend, that’s not her hubby “Peepshow” Boebert who she is divorcing because the whole country learned of him being a pedo who beat her (even while pregnant) and the kids (the oldest of which is making her a grandma at 36).
This is what happens when the GQP, via the Koch family and Ted Cruz, takes skanks and scumbags straight out of the trailer park and installs them into Congress as paid crisis actors.
I’m not a misogynist or an elitist, characterizations of her are accurate, as are those of her family, friends, and colleagues. Certain people don’t belong in certain professions. She literally went from the McDonald’s drive through straight to Congress. After dropping out of high school and getting a “compassionate” GED on her 4th attempt.
Sorry but high level politics requires a background in law, history, economics, political science, etc. There’s no “real world” life experiences that can prepare you for the incredibly complex machinations of representing 365 million people. It’s not a joke and seats shouldn’t be filled by clowns. The Koch family and their political think tanks funneled $137,000 dollars to her via the Ted Cruz Victory Campaign to get her elected. Ted delivered the check in person to her at a discrete hotel where Koch operatives claim she performed sexual favors in exchange.
There are many documented screw-ups in her life and many, many allegations of more. Where there’s smoke there’s fire. Even with this latest incident on tape and documented she will be defended by MAGAts who just want to give the finger to the establishment and “own the libs” no matter what the cost to them and the country.

Lauren Boebert's son has gotten "attention he didn't ask for" because of who his mother is, and how she has presented herself to the public.
There are many, many young people going through difficult challenges because of who they are. Boebert has made their lives harder with her bigoted rhetoric. And of course, there are many, many young people who are now dead - and many, many more who are traumatized - because of gun violence, which Boebert has actively promoted.
