Note(s): This is inspired by the mystery Japanese snack box I got that had this salt-lemon flavored kit kat that tastes absolutely amazing (if you remember the Lemonade girl scout cookies, then it tastes like that)

"Is it... Macha?" A smile crosses Maruki's face as you correctly guessed the flavor of the kit-kat he placed in your mouth (an action that made him blush a lot, but he's glad your eyes are closed so you didn't see).

"You got it!" He says excitedly as you open your eyes. He had bought a bunch of different flavors of the candy and wanted to play a game to see if you guessed correctly. It was silly and fun. And it gave him an excuse to stare at you and be a lovesick idiot.

"Huh, that wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be," you tell him, and he grins at your words. When he mentioned having you try mystery kit-kats and guess what you were tasting, it understandably made you hesitant. But he's glad you seem to be enjoying it.

"There's still more to try! Close your eyes!" His tone is playful as he looks through the bag of random kit-kats for a new flavor. He hears you hum and he smiles as you close your eyes, waiting for him.

"You know, you never said what I got if I guessed the flavors correctly," you pipe up as he chooses a strawberry cheesecake flavored candy. Maruki hums as he unwraps it and thinks, breaking the candy in half.

"What do you want? I'm already feeding you snacks," he teases slightly, and he enjoys the smile that crosses your face. You shrug and he bite the inside of his mouth as he presses the candy to your lips, watching as you take it, and he retracts quickly before his mind can wander.

You chew and taste the candy, him smiling as you process the flavor. "Definitely strawberry..." You trail off and he smiles more. "Strawberry cheesecake?"

"Correct again!"

"And my reward?" He chuckles a bit and thinks of a reward. An easy one crosses his mind, and he blushes at the idea.

"How about you try to guess one more flavor and then I'll give you a reward?" He suggests and you pout, making him smile more. You grumble a "fine" and he smiles as he looks for another kit-kat. And eventually he chooses a simple, chocolate one.

"Okay, open up," he tells you and feeds you the candy. His heart races as he watches you chew and contemplate. There is a bit of worry that you won't guess what flavor he gave you since he's been giving you all the interesting ones and now this one is just common.

"It just tastes like chocolate," you say and he sighs in relief.

"That's because it is. You got it correct!" He smiles wide as you open your eyes. He does give you a couple golf claps to be a dork because he knows it makes you smile and he's happy when you are.

He watches as you grab a napkin to wipe any stray crumbs or chocolate from your face and he's a bit upset that he didn't think of doing that.

"So, what's my reward?" You ask him and he hesitates a bit. He originally thought that maybe he could kiss you but thought better on that. I mean, who just randomly kisses their best friend? Sure, he wants to be much more than friends, but what if you don't view that as a reward and think he's assaulting you?

But now that his mind is on that path. His plan B was to say that your reward was a date with him, but again, what if you don't think that's a reward? He could offer to pay for the whole thing (which he was going to do anyway). But doesn't that seem a bit egotistical to say that "oh you won, now you can date me"?

"Maruki?" You break him out of his panicked thoughts, and he sighs and gives you a sheepish smile.

"I, uh, I actually don't know what your reward is," he says with a nervous chuckle, and you give him an amused look.

"Well, I tried weird candy for you-" You ignored the pout he gave you. "How about we go to that festival together and try a bunch of stall food together?" You suggest and his eyes widen at that idea. That, that definitely sounds like a date.

"Yeah, sure, and I'll buy," he offers, and you smile and cause his heart to beat faster.

"It's a date." That confirmation from you had him giving the biggest sigh of relief, much to your confusion and amusement.

"Sorry, initially I wanted to kiss you as your reward but then thought that was stupid because we are- were friends and now I'm just happy to you know that you want to go on a date," he explains sheepishly as a blush crosses his face. He smiles when he hears you laughing at him being a doofus.

"I'll still take that kiss, Takuto." A gasp escapes him at hearing his name from your lips and he happily leans in to peck your lips. It's short and sweet, like the candy he fed you that led to this.

Oooh I like these options. I totally agree with Sasha, Mikasa, and Eren!! I think Sasha would also like black sesame and maybe more “unconventional” flavors because she’s down to try almost anything.

Mikasa always gets her ice cream in a cup so her fruit doesn’t fall all over the place and she can take her time eating it. This is in complete contrast to Eren, who eats his at the speed of light and always ends up with brainfreeze at multiple points. I also think Eren would like lemon/lime flavors, even something like key lime pie. You know he eats like 7 times a day at minimum and eats three servings at once too, his metabolism is off the charts bye

I see black cherry for Levi!! I also think he’d love green tea and/or matcha; maybe even the two combined. I also think ice cream isn’t something he eats very often, but he has either a local ice cream parlor or a special brand of ice cream that he seeks out when he does want a treat.

Okay, Jean and cookie dough makes so much sense omfg, if I had to take a guess at a second flavor I would say something peanut butter infused? Like maybe vanilla with peanut butter chunks or maybe even, like, Kit Kat pieces in it.

Erwin is definitely mint chocolate chip. Incarceration immediately. I don’t know that I have any alternate suggestions for Armin, I think cotton candy suits him pretty well; maybe birthday cake or cookies and cream?

Some more thoughts—Hange likes butter pecan, don’t ask me how or why. They would definitely get two or three scoops from an ice cream place with each scoop being a different flavor. Connie, surprisingly, I think would like coffee—and he goes around claiming his ice cream taste is the most “mature,” and he definitely gets crunchy toppings for the texture.

I think Porco would like coffee too, or plain vanilla like Mikasa. Strawberry, or any kinda fruit flavor for Annie. Chocolate for Berty, and whatever the hell Dippin Dots are made out of for Reiner. Pieck also seems like she’d pick strawberry, but for some reason, also Neapolitan ice cream too lmfaoo

Ooh my favorite? I very much have a sweet tooth so let me see if I can narrow it down...

I will say, I'm not that huge into chocolate. I used to like it a lot when I was younger. Now, I only really eat it occasionally. Like Kit-Kats are my favorite chocolate to eat cause I enjoy the texture (I got some Japanese Kit-Kats before and oh my god, salt lemon kit-kats are so freaking good)

I will say that I love citrus flavors for candy. Orange and Lemon flavored candy are always yummy. But as for my favorite candy?? I might go with Twizzlers / Red Vines / Licorice. Just the classic Cherry flavored for them. Idk if I have an actual reason, but I've always enjoyed eating them.

Any time I pack orders, I mindlessly always add mini-kit kats to the parcel.

It’s often a random flavour like Salted Lemon, or Rasbperry, but I accidentally bought “plain” flavour...it does have cute phrases on them so hopefully they’re still a good bonus....but plain...

I added Houjichu Tea flavore Kit-Kat awhile ago and I think that was the least popular 🤔

#the only time I don’t add kitkat is if I know the person won’t like it #or if I’ve run out and so they get a badge or a trinket

Shellfish - I’m allergic

My bff from college calls me “Lizard Person” because the only way I can be warm is laying in direct sunlight like a reptile

Checking in on my animal crossing island

I love Kit Kats with my whole being

6. Have you ever been to a professional sporting event?

I’m not super into sports, but I go to the ballet a few times per year which is as close as I get

"We should change that” (Just realized we have two of the same picture hanging on the same wall in my apartment, should probably replace one)

Water. I live on water and G2

People make fun of me for it because it looks “manly” but I know that wallets don’t have genders and also it has three ID slots so I can keep two forms of ID and a picture visible at all times which is why I liked it in the first place

I ordered a pair of brown lace up boots specifically because they look like RPG heroine boots and I can’t wait until they get here

There’s a store in my town that only sells fancy olive oil so I like to make plain popcorn but then salt it and pour the butter infused olive oil on it

I only drink soda once in a while at a restaurant and even then I usually order iced tea. But, when I get soda at a restaurant, they usually give me a straw, so yes

Mickey Mouse, bright colors, usually don’t match

Maybe 3 MPH above maximum on a highway and everyone still flies past me

Straight drops. I like rollercoasters, but anything with a 90 degree drop is a no go from me

I don’t hear them often, but I just think of Australia and things I associate with it. Like kangaroos and sunshine

Diet Coke (no, I don’t think it’s healthy, regular coke is just too sweet for my taste)

I’m a tea girl, which I drink as is, occasionally with a little sugar, honey, or lemon, but not always. Coffee I will only drink in frappuccino form if it tastes so much like chocolate that I can barely taste the coffee

Boots. I have a couple pairs that I rotate and then get sad in the summer that I can’t wear them

38. At what time do you usually go to bed?

Normally like 9:30-10:00 (I have to get up early for work) but lately it’s been more like midnight

6:30 if I’m working, ordinarily 8:30 if I wake up on my own, lately its been 9:30-10:00 since I have no schedule

40. What do you prefer - sunrises or sunsets?

I like them both but I’m not a morning person so I rarely see a sunrise

Summer - Sheet only

Winter - Sheet, smaller blanket, comforter

Spring/Fall - Sheet, comforter

I live in the US, so I’ll go with a state - New York, where I live (not the city)

I worked in a local small business through college that I loved, but I just got hired for my first teaching job so I’m excited to finally work in my field!

49. How did you get your biggest scar?

The scar in question is not longer there (took YEARS to fade) but I don’t have any others so when I was a kid I walked too close to my dad’s motorcycle and I didn’t know he had just gotten home and the exhaust pipe was still hot and my calf touched it and left a HUGE burn on the side of my leg. That shit HURT
