I chose to create a collage that makes me feel hopeful, inspired, optimistic, and at peace. Notice the word inspire in the new magazine clipping. I decided to add a twist with physical art and web art editing. Creating this piece.
(A short Book) hehe:)
I hope to highlight within the piece a series of eerie hope. Such piece might at fist glance look very hopeless or tragic. Yet, I view it as hope and inspiration for a better future. Within my piece you’ll notice school supplies, dirt, trash, and the distinctive theme of Boneventure values. In the middle you will see the ministry chapel a key component to Bonaventure’s values and tradition. Although, I am not a religious student I have a deep appreciation for culture and theology. That being said many whom attend St Bonaventure know of the imprint of religion on the university. Such imprint makes a great sense of peace and love within St. Bonaventure. A feeling of simplicity as the friars stay true to their humbled lifestyle to the preservation of nature due to the universities lineage. I wanted to highlight this as In recent years I’ve observed St.Bonaventure becoming corrupted by hopes of advancement, expansion, and financial abundance. It’s no secret any business or corporation would need to have a financial plan or aspiration for growth within the business. However, where is the distinction of values and where do we realize such “progress” may only take away the values and traditions that have founded St. Bonaventure. I bring awareness to this unconsciously, as I was found stressed about not having magazines. I initially hypothesized that I’d make a virtual collage of things that made me happy. Simple and done so yet, a part of me felt I wouldn’t get the physical prompt completed as a magazine was suggested. Therefore I set out in search of any magazines I could find one, found at safety and security another, found at my counselors office. Both magazines are St. Bonaventure publications. Yet, one explicitly highlighted the advancements St. Bonaventure is hoping to bring to the university in the near future. Such plans include but are not limited to “a state-of-the-art” broadcast production suite and newsroom for the Jandoli school of communication, a 10,000 sqft Athletics Performance Center “five times the size of the current weight room facility” with a turf field “large enough to accommodate Division l sports” claiming the new advancements will “bring Bonnie’s teams out of the harsh Western New York winter element and allow for year-round training”. Upon first glance this seems exciting and transformative. Yet, it’s everything Boneventure is not. Creating a indoor facility so Bonnie’s don’t have to go outside? Or so you don’t have to pay for labor to care for outside elements? Whatever the cause, I believe we are stepping away from what makes Bonaventure Bonaventure. Simply seeking to “raise $125 million in investing* into Bonaventure” when we’re already more than well-off.” Sounds odd to me. In addition the article claims that “ your campaign gift will help build a Bolder Bonaventure by: Modernizing facilities and enhancing technology, transforming St. Bonaventure’s athletic facilities” Such claims seem to be changing the Bonaventure experience overall into a more modern one. I don’t know I just feel off about this. Especially because the plan for the athletic center would either one knock down over 20+ trees where I and many students have relaxed in the field of trees or two knock out a parking lot. Which one do you think Boneventure will choose to eliminate?

DUQUESNE TOPS ST. BONAVENTURE AT HOME IN A CLASH OF ATLANTIC 10 CONFERENCE WOMEN'S SQUADS
After she was honored for breaking the Duquesne Dukes' Women's Basketball record for the most three-pointers in a game, with 11 at Dayton on January 14th, guard Tess Myers celebrated that accolade by scoring 11 overall points at home inside the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse against the visiting Bonnies of St. Bonaventure. But the player of the game was her teammate, and fellow Guard, Megan McConnell. McConnell recorded 17 points, and 13 rebounds, as she played all 40 minutes of the Dukes' 76-67 Atlantic 10 Conference victory over the Bonnies. The win ups Duquesne's record to 9-8 overall, and 4-2 in the Atlantic 10. The photos were taken on behalf of Pittverse Community.

St. Bonaventure: 2021 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Champions
Tumblr media
The St. Bonaventure University men's basketball team will return to the NCAA Tournament.
Hours after winning the Atlantic 10 tournament championship, the Bonnies learned their tournament opponent. The Bonnies are a nine seed in the 68-team NCAA Tournament and are scheduled to open Saturday against No. 8 LSU.
The Bonnies are in the East region, and the winner of the Bona-LSU game will advance to a second-round game Monday, and will face either No. 1 Michigan or the winner of the Mount St. Mary's-Texas Southern First Four game.
Tournament times and locations are to be determined. Tournament sites in Indiana are Lucas Oil Stadium, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Hinkle Fieldhouse and Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis; Mackey Arena in West Lafayette and Assembly Hall in Bloomington.
The Bonnies secured their spot in the NCAA Tournament by winning the Atlantic 10 tournament title Sunday in Dayton with a 74-65 win against VCU.
Kyle Lofton led St. Bonaventure (16-4) with 23 points against the Rams, while Osun Osunniyi had 14 points and 12 rebounds in the Atlantic 10 championship.
"This trip has been amazing," Lofton said. "As soon as we ran out on the court, you could hear, 'Let's go Bona,' and it gave me flashbacks to us being at the Reilly Center. But going to Indianapolis and the NCAA Tournament, it's like a dream come true. Since we were kids, we've been working for that and finally, we can live the dream."
Osunniyi was named the tournament's most outstanding player, while Lofton and teammate Jalen Adaway were named to the Atlantic 10 all-tournament team.
"They endured a lot of things this year and were able to come through," Bona coach Mark Schmidt said. "It's difficult to beat a No. 1 seed going into the tournament, but our guys played like the No. 1 seed."
The Bonnies earned the Atlantic 10's automatic bid, and the NCAA Tournament begins Thursday with the First Four. Schmidt said Bona will leave Dayton tonight for Indiana and the NCAA Tournament and will quarantine through tomorrow in preparation for LSU (18-9) and the tournament.
“We start watching tape tomorrow morning,” Schmidt said. “ We take off (Monday) because of quarantine and we’ll introduce (LSU) Wednesday ,and we’ll keep our same schedule that we’d have during the year, the same schedule we had this week.
“We have plenty of time, and LSU has plenty of time to scout us.”
The Bonnies have qualified for the NCAA Tournament eight times in program history, and on Sunday won their first Atlantic 10 tournament title since 2012.
Bona returns to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018, when it defeated UCLA in a First Four game in Dayton, Ohio. Bona’s win against UCLA was the first NCAA Tournament win for the program since 1970.
Schmidt, however, called the title bittersweet, following the death of Bona president Dr. Dennis DePerro, who died March 1 of Covid-19 complications.
Schmidt said the Bonnies will give a piece of the net from the Atlantic 10 championship to the DePerro family.
"We weren't leaving Dayton without a championship," Osunniyi said.

I Blinked
My twenties were amazing.
I was 20 when I went to Australia to study abroad for the semester. I turned 21 while in Australia, which meant I’d be everyone’s friend back at St. Bonaventure until they, too, turned 21. I was one of the “older” ones.
I had an incredible college experience and education. I met friends who are now family, earned a degree that I have later learned gave me a fantastic and fruitful career, and have memories that only a Bonnie can understand.
I bought “Bonnie” when I was 23. She was a silver, 2-door, Honda Civic. She brought me many places safely and we enjoyed over 100,000 miles together. I paid her off in my twenties, too.
I had three jobs in my twenties – the third being the one that I credit for really helping me secure my passion and lay the foundation for my lifelong career.
I moved out for the first time at 24; shuffling off to Buffalo. Rent was $425 a month and included heat. I lived above a tiny Italian woman who used to leave homemade sauce in a Tupperware container on the stairs for me. I moved three more times after that place – all in Buffalo – leading me to my first house.
I fell in love with my husband at 20. He would propose seven years later, and we’d be married at 28. It was an amazing wedding and I remember every detail. Including the fact that my bouquet came wrong, but who cared?
We found our first puppy at 29. Her name would be Hershey, and her sloppy, spastic, black lab self made us a family of three. She was the best.
Our first baby was born four months before I turned 30.
And then, I blinked.
Here I am, on my 40th birthday eve, a day which forever felt like a lifetime away, and I’m not real sure where my thirties went.
I know they have been busy. I know I’ve been mom, spouse, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, colleague, and boss. But, where did they go?
They went to baby #2, and a toddler, and diaper changes, and first birthdays, and second birthdays, and first steps, and doctor appointments, and first steps, and first words, and first days of kindergarten, and first lost teeth, and sleepovers, and soccer, and dance, and gymnastics, and theater rehearsals, and theater performances, and viola lessons, and band concerts, and Disney.
They went to packing, and moving, and unpacking, and selling houses, and buying houses, and buying more cars.
They went to changing jobs, and relocating, and title changes, and work stresses, and work triumphs.
And here…we…are.
In looking back, I can also say they went to figuring things out. They went to self discovery. They went to building confidence, building friendships, building my marriage, building family traditions, and continuing to build what I know will always be my network of support.
While it’s tough to believe that this day is upon me, I can look back with gratitude, memories, and the knowledge that I have lived my best life so far. Thankfully, I can also look ahead with gratitude, a look-ahead at more memories, and the knowledge that perhaps, the best is yet to come.
They say life begins at 40, right?  Well then, let’s get to it.
