Once again, I am asking myself to learn how to plot. That is going to be the theme here, just wait. Seriously though, I am pretty terrible at it. I do not like to approach people because I am........... idk weird. I am somehow anti-social even online and tend to just sit there twiddling my thumbs instead of reaching out. It's been a problem for me for literally ever. Sometimes I even get scared when people reach out to ME. But one year maybe we will get there. I also want to get back to regular activity. I've been really slipping these past few ... well, years I feel. I want to be more consistent at the very least, and not just post, disappear, spam, disappear, etc. I know I say this every time - but maybe just once: do a big plot. Do a big plot for yourself buddy. You can do it. Best Supporting character's get a sequel spin-off series one day, right. Just do it. JUST DO IT. I also feel like my writing recently compared to years ago has gotten poorer in quality. Idk what that's all about but I would like to improve that. Make proofreading a thing for me again 2024 or whatever.

Oh - you....... you think I have GOALS? (tbh I think they align with my character's own. We're on the SAME TEAM)

Greg: RECONNECT WITH HIS PARENTS. This was like a silent plot I started literally over a year ago where Gregory got more and more distant with his parents until they stopped talking entirely and he moved out to live at R2F. He's been on and off about trying to reach out - and this is the year to do it. Also probably come to terms a bit more with his relationship with Zero. He's comfortable in it and loves Zero very much - but there's that voice in the back of his mind still saying that he'll leave. Sebastian: Get over his crush on Lo that he did to himself. I want him to fully accept uncle life. To get over his fear of hurting people. Milo: BREAK. HIS. CURSE. .........nah. That's not my goal for him this year lmfao. I want him to find his passion, actually. Will it be in working out and being a jock? Does he actually have a fond passion for cooking? Does he yearn for theater? Fawn: Get her into TROUBLE. I didn't really do much with this yet, but she's a TROUBLE MAKER. She's nearly been kicked out the hollow for god's sake. She is a TERROR. It's time to UNLEASH IT.

Greg: Reconnect and apologize to his parents - but to do that... kick the minor drug problem first. Sebastian: Don't die. (.....i can't stress enough this man doesn't have outlooks) Milo: BREAK. MY. CURSE. Fawn: Discover a new creature in Enchantra! Befriend the creature! Train the creature! Sick the creature on Eboshi so it eats her and the forest is free again :)

Clarion: For obvious reasons, and also as stated above - Fawn is on mighty thin ice in the Hollow, so I think any interactions between them would be great and funny. And........ well maybe she gets kicked out oops. Doc: I'm not counting twitter interactions - I just think because of the whole Luca thing, I feel like Doc has flip flopped on his opinion of Milo multiple times and it would be funny for them to finally meet and talk. (and prove he's a good boi!) Any of TAM'S characters strictly because - I believe u have escaped me so far. Eluded. (That's not hard, as we discussed in point 1 I am very inconsistent) That should change!! ....I am sure the format of this post is very enticing...... sorry.

Talk a bit about your plotting style – what plots are you most drawn to? Do you prefer to come with a fully-formed idea and plot off that, or throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks?

And here dear reader we return to the beginning again. Roll credits: oh man, I simply do not. I am by default a 'buckle your seatbelts and lets just see wtf happens' kind of person simply because I am SO BAD at plotting in the first place! So many of my 'plots' revolve around other people's well equipped talents, or throwing my characters at opens/events/etc and seeing what disaster strikes. I'm just doing drive bys at all times of day.

Talk a bit about character relationships – what relationships are you most drawn to? How do you prefer to approach shipping (if at all!)? What, specifically, are you looking for right now for your character relationships? 

I love just good old fashion friendship and family relationships! Like I adore the relationship Milo has with Pip/King/Luca. The Greg/Jun relationship, Sebby and his bros. I think it's pure and good and writing BFFs getting into dumb things is my favorite. I also like BEEF. I am a fan of rough-housing so to speak. Drama? Sure. Pile it up. Beef? Grudges. Fights. Whatever. It is okaaaaay. I love a good ol' beefin' between people. Same as above. I barely plot as it is - but when I do, it's definitely not relationships/shipping. In fact, I don't really 'ship'. i don't plan around ships, I don't get characters for ships, I don't anticipate ships. If one develops while throwing fruit--- I mean characters at other people, then that's great! That's how.......... both of my current relationships are! Phineas and Fawn were completely random and not at all my intention but they vibed from the start and it happened to work out in the timeline. Gregory and Zero were incredibly unlikely but started talking here and there, and Z and I didn't really say........ anything to each other at all until they were kissing in Pixie's and even then - we didn't think they'd become a #thing. ..........which they did. So I'm pretty much just...... looking to expand on the ones I have? Explore Phawneas a bit and see what on earth is going on inside their head, see where Glo takes us. ............figure out if Seahound can survive not jumping each other's bones forever.

Plotting Exercise! Pick one of the resolutions/goals in #3 and plan a rough guideline to how you could accomplish it.

GREG TALKS TO HIS PARENTS:

GREGORY and ZERO have a discussion post-Zero's parents coming to town, where ZERO tries to prod about what is going on between GREG and his parents, and Greg comes clean to him about the fight that happened between them. Zero gently offers to go with him to talk to them but Greg doesn't think it's time yet.

Still too uncertain, GREG asks IAN if his mum has said anything about Aubrey, or about Greg. He tries to gauge if his parents have been talking about him to their friends, if they're upset, or if they've moved on.

PLOT CALL: Gregory anonymously looks into sources for mental health, and tries to find people with experience in the same struggles he's had. He either forms or joins an anonymous online/twitter support group for such problems / group therapy.

Having overheard various times through the grapevine, GREG finds and approaches TAD to see if he can talk to him about his recovery and sobriety and find advice/guidance for that path.

Knowing that he might get the most brutal honest answers, GREG confides in JUN and asks his advice on what he should do or how he should handle it.

GREG finally bites the bullet and drags JUN and ZERO to his parents house for support to talk to them again after over a year of radio silence.

PHEW. A tough one.

I would love to buckle down and get more done with their actual hardcore plots. 2022 was really not my year when it came to writing what with the changes in my job/health/life/universe tbqh and I’d love for me to just sit down and focus on the parts of these characters that I’ve promised not only to my fellow writers but myself as well!

Write at least one resolution IN CHARACTER for your characters. What do THEY want to accomplish or change in the New Year?

Tony: This year my New Years Resolution is not only to survive but thrive. I want to not fall into the pit that I always do in the spring. Ian remembered, Ian knows me better than I know myself at times, and I need to stay hopeful that our life and our love is strong enough to keep ourselves safe.

Riley: My New Years Resolution is to involve myself more fully into this community outside of the sports arena (okay, maybe it’ll still be sports-related but I wanna branch out dangit!)

Martin: New Years Resolution: Learn a new skill and stick with it!

Taran: Make more friends that are my friends.

List one or more characters you have never interacted with that you would like to do so:

Man, there are so many characters I wanna interact with (and I’m gonna touch on this more in my vocaroo answers) but a few off the top of my head are Boo, Kristoff, Barbie, Howl, Mads, Jeremy, etc. I could go on (and I definitely will) but this RP is so full of such interesting characters and I’m so excited about all the possibilities!

Talk a bit about your plotting style – what plots are you most drawn to? Do you prefer to come with a fully-formed idea and plot off that, or throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks?

So I have a complicated relationship with plotting. I’m almost never the person that will approach you with a very fleshed out plot. I more so go off of vibes and want to see how our kids interact before setting anything else in stone. But, at the same time, I always love when people approach me about things that are more fleshed out?? Because other people in this group are just so clever and creative and I’m just always a mess for plots and grateful to be involved.

I do tend toward a good angsty plot, even when it’s meant to be cute. I think everyone who plots with me is used to me being a downer and an enabler.

Talk a bit about character relationships – what relationship are you most drawn to? How do you prefer to approach shipping (if at all!)? What, specifically, are you looking for right now for your character relationships?

I’m such a sucker for a cute ship. They’re almost always accidental (Tian & Mighty especially have been complete accidents and I wish I could express just how accidental these were) but the thing that matters most to me is chemistry and trajectory. Are these characters going in a similar direction? How do their desires move forward? How do they push one another and/or get in the other’s way? I feel like right now I’d love to see more butting of heads with my characters outside of what I’ve already established because they need to be pushed more by non-NPCs lol

Talk about your dash reply style and your Discord reply style! (And if applicable, also your doc reply style). What do you like about each type of interaction? What is something you feel is difficult?

I feel like my main struggle with Dash vs Discord vs Doc is that I never know what order to reply to things in! I just get overwhelmed by what should be prioritized but that’s my biggest weakness.

Dash: I feel like I try to do either as much as I can in longer-type threads but in my gif replies it’s All Vibes Baby!! I just try to really read what sort of interactions my characters are having.

Discord: These tend to be much shorter (unless Z is involved, they always make me write more lol) and much more dialogue focused. These are more event type threads where I can devote more of my attention to a lot of different things.

Docs: I usually reserve these for either more specific plot type threads or threads that I can reply to on the go. I can reply to my docs on my phone which is harder for Discord/Dash for me. These threads are always so near and dear to my heart in a way that is very different but not necessarily more so than my other threads!

Plotting Exercise! Pick one of the resolutions/goals in #3 and plan a rough guideline to how you could accomplish it:

OPERATION: MAKE MY OWN FRIENDS!

TARAN will find someone that he is fairly confident is not in EILONWY’s group of friends (i.e. BOO) and try to approach during an activity that they feel confident in (i.e. drinking probably) (Event probably)

TARAN will invite JEREMY over to the park to do winter activities and hopefully HEN WEN will be able to keep SUSIE busy so the guys can have Bro Time! (Para)

BARBIE might notice that there’s something a little different about HEN WEN if TARAN isn’t subtle enough about her divinatory powers and he will have to befriend/convince her to not share this information with anyone else (Para)

BARBIE could involve the RAS resources in order to help TARAN more successfully keep his own secrets (Para)

EILONWY could notice TARAN becoming slightly more distant and then the the two of them could discuss where the lines really are for what constitutes making his own friends (Doc/Dash Para)

TARAN, EILONWY, and perhaps EDWARD could then have a movie night (because it would be fun) (Discord Thread)

Write your RPer Resolutions for 2023! 

One of my biggest resolutions is to focus on more one shots. I always have ideas, they are always on my to do list, but I usually get sidetracked and I find answering replies to be more important, so they get pushed and pushed until they are no longer relevant. (RIP to the one shot about bellou I was going to write...) I have a few I want to do upcoming with Simba specifically, but I also have another backstory series for Elinor planned. I think that most characters can benefit from them every now and then. Plus, it’s good to flex my prose muscles from time to time.

I also wanna keep working on myself! Being chill. Letting things go. I’ve worked really hard over the past years and it is a continual thing for me. I want to have more relaxed plots, be more loosey goosey, and just enjoy the journey. Not worry so much about making sure I’m doing replies for people and that things get done on time, and everything is formatted properly...(okay, maybe not that last one, formatting is important. :)) But, yeah. Just in general! Everyone makes mistakes (everyone has those days.) Growing forward is important to me.

Belle: This year I want Belle to open her own law practice. It’s something I’ve been working towards with her and the accumulation of a few plots is hopefully gone make that go forward.

Simba: Have him interact with as many new characters as possible and deepen the relationships with characters he already has. I wanna make sure that he is remembered. :’) Also, this year is the 10 year anniversary of his father’s death, so I have few things planned I want to do with that. I have a few other things, but they’re spoilers.

Toulouse: Get him back on track with his life. Do some more important art commissions around town. Start planning for the future properly...some other things that are spoilers, lol.

Thomas: Explore the tension between being a single father with the brio, I think there is some really juicy stuff there with growing pains of this new lifestyle for everyone.

Candace: I talked about this in my response to Anya on the voice memo, but I wanna delve more into Candace’s relationship. I also want to start our women in STEM club at PrideU and get her involved with that. Grow her confidence as a scientist. Maybe reveal her as CaNDyPoP101?

Vishaka: Spoilers, sorry. :)

Danny: Have him connect more with his family. Maybe have him explode at some point. Repair his relationship with Jane.

Thistle: This is also spoilers, lol.

Elinor: I want to delve more into her grief and also her curse! I also want to get her in position to open her museum this year. Also toying with having her run for Board in the fall.

Gem: Explore his magic more. Explore his relationships more. Gem is a slow boil kind of character. I’d like to get him some more long term arcs. I have one in the works that could lead to some good drama, so hopefully I’ll be able to flesh that out.

Isabela: Spoilers. :D

Evangeline: I would like to use her magic more. Maybe have her confess to someone what she is. Have something bad happen where Evy is in danger. Grow her relationships...I don’t know honestly, she’s just vibing.

Gaston: Get him into poaching. Create the Villain Squad. Bother Belle and cause some tension with the mayor, lol. Start his slow decent into madness.

Belle: Help her children get back to their time. Be a better mother.

Simba: Come to terms with leaving Swynlake. Be a good husband. :)

Toulouse: Toulouse only subscribes to resolutions when he’s in a good place and he is not in a good place.

Candace: Get top marks. Be a good RA.

Vishaka: Figure out what she wants to do. (Good resolution, Vixey, lol.)

Danny: Danny doesn’t do resolutions, they stress him out.

Thistle: He does not subscribe to the mortal calendar.

Elinor: Do better by her children. Repair her relationship with Merida. Open her museum. Quit the bookshoppe. Run a 5k. Read 50 books.

Gem: None.

Isabela: Get to a million followers. Deepen her relationship with Clayton (and make sure she hangs onto him.) Do yoga once a day. Stop and smell the roses. :)

Evangeline: Oh! Resolutions are so fun! Evy wants to get better at her job and be a good friend and love life!

Gaston: Bench 225.

Milo, Cruz, Riley, Hook, and King are the only characters I haven’t interacted with, I believe. I’d love to change that for all of them!

Obviously, I have Hook and Gaston, so that is easy. I have Candace for Cruz potentially, though also Simba as a fellow native and sporty person. I think they could do something fun with InterPride and Magic Prix.

I want to have Riley and Belle, because I think that could be an interesting interaction, considering Belle’s relationship to Amity. If not, I have some uni kids I can throw at them. I feel like they’d get along with Gus when he comes, he’s very sporty too.

For King, I will be bringing in Gus soon! They have a fun relationship in the show. The reason I haven’t really interacted with him yet is because Candace has been busy and Danny is the worst, lol.

Milo is harder for me, just because he is in secondary and I don’t have any concrete connections there right now! But, I believe that we can make something work. We have an interesting connection with Milo x Gaston right now potentially!

Talk a bit about your plotting style.

So, I’ll just come out and say that I’m really bad with relationships and threads that are more spontaneous and don’t have a plotted end. It’s not that I don’t like them! I just am bad at throwing characters together on the fly. (This is a reason that Discord events is hard for me, but see below for that.)

I have some tools to circumvent this. Usually, if you come to me to plot I ask a series of pre-prepared questions: which of my characters are you interested in? (I have so many, it can be hard to choose unless some sort of connection/interaction jumps out immediately.) Do you have any characters that need threads or need something specific in their story I can help with? I have a hard time with open ended stuff so it helps me brainstorm a bit more if you have an idea beyond an IDK.

It is something I am working on, but it can be super difficult for me--and then I feel bad because I think it makes me sound unenthusiastic. Which isn’t the case! I just get really in my head if I can’t come up with a good idea.

I love all types of plots, but I gravitate towards “bigger” ones. I put bigger in quotes because I usually just mean...long term. I like being able to plot a relationship, to see the end, and to successfully reach it. There is just something so satisfying to me. It’s like finishing a good book!

That isn’t to say I don’t mind one offs. And really, I LOVE just being a cog in the machine. If your character wants to open a business but they need someone to randomly inspire them in a coffee shop, hit me up!

Additionally, I am not shy about coming up with ideas to get involved with current plots, because I think that is the most fun and collaborative part of the RP! For example, when the plot dropped for Marie, I asked Bee if she’d be okay with me having Gaston set up a team to go into the woods “tracking” the beast. I just saw an opportunity for my character and I ran with it. That means sometimes I might jump into your DMs when a plot drops or something exciting happens.

I love to be involved, but I am also extremely respectful of other people’s stories. If Bee had said “No, actually, I’d prefer you didn’t do that because [whatever reason]” I would say no problem! That’s why I asked! I have an extremely open communication style, which I know might come off a little callous sometimes, but its just because I want everyone to be on the same page and make sure that everyone is satisfied with the story. If anyone has any problems, I am always wiling to talk it out and reshape plots so that everyone is happy.

TL;DR: This is very long, so I’ll just end by saying I am so, so excited to be included in any plot you have--if you think my character might suite your plot, please let me know! And I am not shy at all. If I want to plot something with you or I see a plotting opportunity, I’ll absolutely jump into your DMs--but you are never obligated to say yes. Just be honest and communicative! 

Talk a bit about character relationships.

I love any and all character relationships. Family, friends, enemies, frenemies, lovers, exes, one night stands, neighbors...

I will always always say yes to feeling out some characters! Never hesitate to pitch a relationship with me. You want your character to date mine? GREAT. Obsessed with the idea already. You want to get in a fight? Put ‘em up! I am totally down. You wanna plan an elaborate bank heist? I’m honored to be invited to commit crime with you.

There is really only two scenarios where I will say no:

1) I am full on threads and would like a few to close before I start something new. In which case I will ask if we can hang on to it until something finishes! If not, that’s okay, I understand.

2) It isn’t in character or not something I want for my character in that moment. I feel very firmly that everyone should be able to tell the stories they want to tell--within the confine of everyone else’s story! That means, sometimes, I will say no because it isn’t the path I want for my character. It is never anything personal and always simply has to do with my character’s trajectory! I would hope people tell me the same, if I ever pitch something to them that doesn’t work for what they want for their character.

Finally, shipping. While I LOVE shipping and love a good ship, I have two different kinds of ships: long term and short term.

For short term ships, I am always down for whatever. Cheating? Explosive break ups? Turned down proposals? Let’s get it! Short term relationships don’t mean I don’t care about them. I fall in love with any character falling in love with mine. Truly. I’ve had many short term relationships that give me the warm fuzzies, that make me incredibly fond of those characters, that relationship. Lou has dated several people--and especially his six month relationship with Peri still holds a soft place in my heart.

I will always communicate and be up front with my expectations and I will ask you about yours, so I can make sure they match and no one’s feelings get hurt. I will say “I think they should date for six months and then X should be their reason for breaking up.”

Long term ships are much more rare for me. Usually, if my character is in an “endgame” relationship, there have been many discussions about it before it happens. (And usually a few break ups before they finally get together, lol.) I tend to ship these endgame ships with active, participatory members. I have been burned before and am cautious to tie my character’s romantic relationships to someone else, as I love to play them and tend to have them feature heavily in my character’s story and it’d absolutely break my heart to lose my character’s soulmate. Again, this is nothing personal!! If our RP styles don’t match, that’s totally okay.

And, honestly, if the chemistry is there (and a good story, I’m a sucker for a good, angsty story)--the rest doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, it comes down to whomst my character loves. <3

Talk about your dash, doc, and Discord reply style!

Dash: I reply nearly every day. I tend to reply twice if we have 4+ threads, and once if we have less than that. Often it might be a few days, just because I don’t do all my replies in one day. I average about 10 and I prioritize by mun, how long it has been, and my character’s activity. If it has been more than THREE days, I have probably missed something. I generally have one of the biggest thread loads in the RP -- over 50, consistently, so sometimes things fall through the cracks. I will NEVER drop a thread without discussing ending it first. I think it is a rude thing to do, lol. However, if it has been 3+ weeks, please message me before responding because often time I have marked those off my tracker.

Doc: These are generally reserved for secrets, smut, and sensitive material. The three S’s, if you will. Plot drops are common. I prefer smut off dash, just because I hate tumblr’s formatting, lol. Sensitive material refers to triggering material. If I know a thread will heavily feature something triggering (such as severe mental health or gore and violence), I will usually suggest doing it off dash. I keep doc threads on my replies list and italicize them when it’s my turn to reply, so they don’t get lost and I’m pretty on my game about replying to them.

Discord: For some reason, Discord has gotten hard for me. I used to love Discord events and would really throw myself into them. Recently, they’ve been a little more overwhelming and I feel very lost in the shuffle. Therefore, if we plot an event thread but we don’t get very far or I don’t seem engaged, it’s not you at all!! It’s just a me thing. I prefer dash or docs. Hopefully I’ll get over this hump and ready to jump back in! (Also, Discord replies are SO easy for me to lose, I forget about them in a blink, lol.)

Plotting Exercise!

VIXEY GIVES UP HER SHOPPE

1. Something happens (maybe a town emergency, or I fabricate someone getting an injury) and VIXEY goes to the hospital with someone, where she runs into FELIX or TIBBS or DIAN -- and has a chat with them about being nurse, they compliment her on her expertise in handling whatever situation.

2. After this experience, VIXEY confides in TIANA that she isn’t happy with the shoppe, who feels hurt and betrayed that Vixey would give up on her shoppe. She tells Vixey that she just is going through a rough patch and owning a business is hard.

3. Bucking up, VIXEY goes about her days, but is still feeling hurt and restless. She runs into NEMO, who is also struggling with his life path and school. They have a heartfelt chat and Vixey gives Nemo some advice...that she reflects on and decides to take for herself.

4. VIXEY talks to AL and JUN (separate paras) about her feelings and what they think she should do. Either one (or both) advise her to try and find someone to take over the shop from her.

5. PLOT CALL -- for someone to take over From Farm to Table. A para where Vixey does this. (I don’t know how--putting out an ad, making a heartfelt Instagram post?) Someone answers!

6. Several threads where VIXEY and [REDACTED] negotiate handing over the shoppe, ending with BELLE signing on as the lawyer to finish the deal.

7. Once VIXEY is free from her shoppe, she returns to the hospital to see if this is what she really wants...

Etc.) oKAY SO I want to really make sure that I keep on top of replies, namely making sure Tumblr stops fucking eating them, and to try to keep stuff moving along while I balance school stuff. I feel like my style is fine and the plotting is there, but sometimes stuff falls through the cracks, so having something set up to show who I’ve plotted with and what their Discord name was might be helpful too.

Shere: I definitely want to get him more involved with the adults and the Magicks of the town! He needs more friends and his plots have kind of stagnated (though they are getting better!) so I hope to start moving him forward again with personal stuff soon.

Claude: Maybe have a plot where he works for a Magick in play and gets to flex his lawyer muscles?? Or, perhaps, get him involved in the law firm in town. 

Both Seamus & Errol have been doing REMARKABLY well this past year, so I would say I would like to continue on their paths a bit: Seamus would be to dive into a bit more stuff with the family and Lachlann and, possibly, even introduce them to the job he used to do back in the day. Errol, in contrast, would definitely have to be looking at Swynlake with more intention, trying to find out what happened to make it so appealing to magicks. I kind of also want him to unleash a bit of his....moral neutrality in circumstances not pertaining to a job, just things that happen to him, and see what that might do for stuff around him.

Shere: Take care of Tiegan, get her to talk to me about what happened a few months back and see if we can move from it. Make!! Friends!!

Claude: Focus on using my degree. Now that I’ve begun to acknowledge it as my own, it’s time to start using it in town. Perhaps also continue a bit of “counseling” at the church?

Seamus: Be more involved with the lads. Expand into a bit of artifact hunting again.

Errol: Continue into the investigation of the magick of the town, perhaps more...openly now that I’ve gathered more information. //

Plotting Exercise! Pick one of the resolutions/goals in #2 and plan a rough guideline to how you could accomplish it. Here’s an example. MOCK PLOT -- Investigative Services 

ERROL has been investigating the strange reasonings behind the concentration of magick in town for the last two years. However, he has not done so publicly. A case he receives from the county office, however, makes him realize that he now needs to find out, and soon! He enlists PERRY’S help to do some reconnaissance, namely something a bit “off the books.” as this case is time and content sensitive (i.e. people, specifically magicks, across the county are dying).

During this investigation, RATIGAN discovers that he needs help of his own from Errol, pertaining to an individual under his employ that may or may not be plotting something deceptive against him. By manipulating the circumstances (mostly without Errol’s knowledge), Ratigan sways the investigation in a manner that befits him, garners the information he needs, and Errol realizes that the case he received was far bigger than what he originally believed it to be. 

Meanwhile, ROSE has begun to investigate the sheriff on her own, both intrigued by his methods and wondering at the reason behind the many years or redacted information in his files. She resolves to perhaps shadow him, either learning the information she needs and reporting back to the Order or sticking around to find out what more she can learn.

WISHLIST

General

Smut -- i want to rp hetero sex from the female perspective, because i have not done that yet. also, just more smut in general. i think it makes for interesting character connections. bc it affects the two (or more) people involved but it can also affect past/future lovers of other people and that’s fun. 

Slow Burn -- who doesn’t love a slow burn romance? i think it makes a ship feel so much more real when characters are angsting and pining and things keep them apart, whether it be timing, one of them dating someone else, miscommunication, or just general fear of hurt--ugh just give it to me (but not for months).

Murder -- i want to kill someone. i want someone to kill one of my characters. either one. both. who knows. 

Kidnapping -- someone kidnap one of my characters.

Abortion -- i mean, i just think it would be interesting to have a character go through/have to contemplate getting an abortion. from either male or female perspectives. i have several possibilities /eyes zella in particular or tbh lou /eyes lou too

Death of a Family Member -- i recently lost a family member and it was...a painful experience, of course, but it inspired me to try and deal w it through some characters. ofc there is simba but his dad died almost four years ago (wow so long wtf) and zella but that is also oldd. i mean, im kind of dealing w it through belle but she’s not exactly what im looking for through that idk how y’all are going to help me /huddles my siblings and parents and children close

Suicide -- i have several characters (well, three, maybe four...okay possibly five wow what is wrong w me) who could possibly contemplate suicide. i dunno if i’d actually want one of them to go through with it but i really would like to do an attempt/work through the recovery of that with them bc i think it’d be interesting (also my aunt committed suicide so i think it would be--apt to do something like this and explore how to raise awareness about it through my characters.)

Surgery/Illness -- i love me some good ol’fashion hurt/comfort. also, sweet loves surgery, so if anyone’s characters need surgery, you want them to get hurt or sick, sweet is your guy. but, i mean we all know i love fucking up my characters (gave simba appendicitis, had lou get impaled, copp got shot like forever ago who remembers that eh?) so if you wanna beat up/attack my characters get at me

Travel -- i’ve had a few characters (lou, zella, simba) take trips to other places; but i would love to get out of swynlake for some threads. why not? 

Race/Sexuality -- i have a couple of characters who i’d love to explore their racial identity in a negative situation. swynlake is pretty free of, like, blatant racists (excluding magick-ists), so i would be curious to see how simba/sweet/my newest babe deals with that. same with sexuality, swynlake is pretty accepting but i’d love for them to confront some homophobia because both that and racism, is, unfortunately realistic and prevalent. 

Big Plots -- we are about to kick off one w like fey’s gold, but i LOVE big plots and i want to do them with more than just lauryl sorry lauryl i love u. but i want big plotty plots with EVERYONE! stuff that’ll fuck up your characters or my characters or both or they’ll GROW by the end, just stuff that will be an uphill battle. who wants to fight with meee?

Character Specific

Belle -- tbh belle needs to go on a date or a vacation or both. my babe deserves to take a breAK and relax. someone help her.

Simba -- someone hit on simba pls liek i’ve had him a year and a half almost and i know he’s dating someone bUT nO oNE evER hiTS on HIM. this is a travesty okay he deserves to be admiRED.

Copper -- wow someone give copper a break im realizing these aren’t like actual plot things but idk i want him to embrace being a father cuz he’ll be a really good one if he chills out.

Drizella -- i want zella to have a REAL emOTIONAL connecTION to someone and not just a fleeting thing, like a real connection, whether just a friend or a romantic connection, who knows.

Snow -- become a sorceress again!

Toulouse -- someone help him. wow my characters need help. his is the same as zella, tbh. he really doesn’t have any friends. or, he makes friends than burns bridges so fast (see naveen, anita). i want someone to StICK AROUNd my poor babe thinks he’s not worth loving/love is not worth it even in a platonic form. 

Bambi -- learn more about his powers! bond with his dad! embrace his sexuality! get kidnapped/held for ransom/manipulated!

Perdita -- oh god someone help this child. i want her to discover she has post-partum and get help with that. i want her to repair her relationship w paul, even if only so they are friends and can raise the babies in an un-tense atmosphere. make friends, get a better job--i have so many wants for you my sweet child. 

Sweet -- stick him into drama. he just kinda, y’know, chills in the hospital. he is either there or sleeping for 90% of his life. someone drag him into some bullshit, otherwise he’ll just remain p passive.

Maui -- i want someone to find out about his deep dark secret that is deep and dark. 

RESOLUTIONS

Mun Resolutions

i want to consistently have at least one thread w everyone; as well at least a major plot w each mun by the end of the year. ambitious i know.

i want to get BETTER at plotting bc i seriously suck at it right now but there are so many characters around rn, i do have some ideas buzzing around in my brain. 

wow this is so hard bc im fabulous--i want to focus on some characters of mine that dont get enough attention. i’m getting better cuz bam’s story is going somewhere. perdy is good. ive got some stuff comin up for zella. but like--SWEET god i just love writing him and he deserves more. so does SNOW. and maui for sure.

i wanna explore magic more. i have.....4 magicks; snow is trying to become a sorceress again, bambi is just discovering his powers and that will be SO fun. sweet has to hide his magic, which is so sad bc he loves his magic but i love his magic. and then mAUi who relies on his magic. my next babe is gonna be magic too, and the one after her and they both have super interesting relationships with their magic.

Character Specific

Belle -- grow a backbONE and KEEP it this tiMe; "help hades” that is her resolution

Simba -- continue getting over his issues and groW and accepT himself and figure out his calling; he--doesn’t really have a resolution “be a better boyfriend” chill simba you are a perfectly good boyfriend

Copper -- save some people, get his self-worth back; his is also “be fucking useful” which is a meaner way to say what i said

Drizella -- make a friend; hers is “take over the world” tbh jk “graduate from swynlake secondary and gtfo of swynlake”

Snow -- become a sorceress again! “become a sorceress again!”

Toulouse -- also make a friend pls; “fall into a bitter dark pit of despair from which i’ll never emerge” me: /rolls eyes

Bambi -- accept who he is, all aspects of him; “figure out what happened to my mother” aw lil bam

Perdita -- go to fuckin therapy tbh; “work things out with paul” me: /sighs deeply

Sweet -- make a mistake in surgery tbh i think that would be so interesting; “make progress on my research, do some more badass surgeries.” 

Maui -- actually do something heroic; “actually do something heroic”
