MICRONAUTS: THE NEW VOYAGES #4-15 (1985)
I’m not going to do more than note that these issues exist. I don’t want to read them. It’s not that they’re bad, it’s that I just don’t care.

The Dreaming Star!
Micronauts #68
[Micronauts: The New Voyages #9]
The team learns a lot. But not much actually happens. A slow boring read.
The plot is as follows: The team walk around together as a group, and are told a heck of lot of cool stuff. That’s it. There’s no action. And by that I mean: no characters doing anything. They are just passively listening for most of the story. Which, even if what they are hearing is inventive, isn’t very engaging.
There is some activity towards the end, when they act to save one of their previous teammates.
And the opening pages are good, with the return of that teammate and a threat of some kind.
And the concepts here are certainly fascinating.
But, as a standalone issue of a comic book series it falls a little flat.
Peter B. Gillis (10 of 21).
Kelley Jones (9 of 18).

In case the captions can’t be read: “But if pain can have a shape and force in this universe -- so too can hope. Behind that frail line, the Makers stand -- the awesome entities who created the Microverse as part of a grand experiment with the forces of life. They stand motionless, awaiting -- silent and even -- asking themselves: where is the hope in that -- in life?” I think we can all agree this is amazing, and ridiculous. Death and Transfiguration!
Micronauts #67
[Micronauts: The New Voyages #8]
Solo Huntarr story, with the rest of the team close to death.
Again, it feels as if the series is going nowhere, just standing still. This second volume is called THE NEW VOYAGES, but there are no voyagers. They are going nowhere and, when you think about it, the full team hasn’t really appeared for three issues. The previous two issues put the focus on one character and told stories unconnected to the main series. This is essentially the same. The team do appear. But they are minor characters in this comic, lying at death’s door, while Huntarr goes into battle on their behalf.
The actual story in this issue is basic and predictable. Fun if you like Huntarr.
