ROs dynamic with their little daughter/son in the future?
Hmm, I already answered what kind of parents they would be so I am going to treat this ask how would they be like with their first child if it was a girl or boy. 😄💙
Cassandra: She would be happy with either a girl or boy, but I see her having a girl first. She happy to raise her just as she was raised, a very comfortable life but with the strict upbringing to recognize that with that comes the expectations to serve others in your community. She wouldn't be as harsh as her dad in the second part but would remind her kids that their family comes from wealth because of their grandpa serving the people and keeping them safe. She is loving and nurturing but I see her daughter acting out quite a bit, definitely favoring MC and antagonizing her mom whenever she can. That hurts Cass a lot because she does do a lot for her daughter, she remembers all of her favorite things as they change constantly over the years, she spends lots of time with her and she has gone to great lengths to give her the best education money can afford. She wants her daughter that there is nothing in this world she cannot do, nobody that can tell her that she does not have a place that she belongs in. Cass would shatter the glass ceiling for her daughter and do anything to make her dreams come true.
Valeria: I see her having a boy despite her (and her mom) praying throughout the entire pregnancy for a girl. She has grown up around a lot of boys and is bummed that they continue to out number the women in the family. Though she obviously loves her son, she pushes him to follow his dreams knowing that his mom supports him 100%. He will be an absolute mamas boy too, loud like the majority of his family but will throw toddler hands at anyone who bothers his mom. MC included. His mom is his best friend and he tells her everything, he would probably get picked on by other kids for being so close to her but it's okay, his big scary uncles know how to fix such problems. 😊👍🏽
Tomás: He definitely has a sweet baby girl as his first. She is the light of his life, alongside MC of course... although the way he looks when he holds his baby girl; it's like the rest of the world just disappears. She is his little princess that looks at her dad like he hung up the moon and stars, he makes or buys her anything she wants and she is so sweet about it. Tea parties and princess dancing is what she wants and is exactly what she gets from him. It breaks his heart anytime she cries, and she is distraught whenever daddy isn't home. Him getting anything done without her tagging along is a whole damn mission, it usually ends with him giving in and taking her with him everywhere he goes. It becomes a common sight to see him walking down the street with his little girl holding his hand or sitting on his shoulders. Definitely gets jealous of MC getting too close to her dad, get grows out of it eventually but he finds it so funny and cute; makes a whole scene of kissing MC and telling them he loves them in front of her to piss her off. She absolutely hates him when she is a teenager though, he is so overprotective she wishes he would spend more time getting all kissy face with MC and leave her alone.
-
Ludovica: Words honestly can't justly express how gentle and loving she is with her kids. I see her having a boy first, from the moment he is born or first introduced to her; she is vowing to protect this baby boy from all harm this awful world could ever try to throw at him. She is so tender with him and he grows to be a very sky and soft spoken young man, I can see him getting very dependent and scared of the outside world beyond the high walls of the villa. Definitely getting a bit of generational trauma from his mom, he would cling to her and MC 24/7, he would see his parents as his world as idolize them. She would sew and knit things for him and he treasure everything as if it was made of diamonds and gold. Gets nightmares if sleeping alone and begs to sleep in his parents bed all the way up till he is 15, even then he still begs to sleep with you guys and Vica begs MC to let him. He will always be her perfect angel, baby boy in her eyes.
Aurelio: This man would probably have a daughter first and God help the world prepare itself for this little gremlin. Smart as hell like her dad, good in math, remembers the dates + locations of historical events and writes poetry for fun; also thinks she can self ferment her own alcohol since her parents wouldn't let her drink any till she is of age. In her defense, she did research how and subtly got her dad to tell her the tricks of how his business does it; only draw back is that she started planning this plot when she was 6 because that was the first time he told her no about trying his wine. She would be 17 by the time she retrieves her stashed away brew, this is a petty move 11 years in the making. She pours the bottle into one of her dad's fancy wine glasses and sits in his favorite chair in the lounge as she waits for her parents to get home. When they do and walk into the room, that is when she raises the glass to them and say "Cheers!" before taking a huge sip. Only to immediately gag and spit it out all over a very expensive rug, Aurelio is laughing hysterically on the floor and MC is left to do the actual parenting here. When Aurelio managed to regain his ability to breathe properly, he sniffs the bottle and dares taste it. It's not good but also not as terribly bad as one would expect, he is actually a bit proud. Later takes her to the brewery and explains what she did wrong, his daughter would protest that she was only 6 when she tried it. He would retort that she is now 17 and was stupid enough to drink what 6 year old her had made 11 years later. As she shuts up he makes a deal with her that they can make a bottle together now and wait a few years to try it together. She loves that idea.
Elio: I see him adopting a little boy first. He sees the little bundle brought to him from MC, hearing the story of how MC came across him and how he needs a family. Elio knows he can't have any biological kids himself and while he might never acknowledge this out loud, he honestly feels like that gift was robbed from him. He has caught himself thinking of having a baby with MC a few times and it always puts him in a bitter mood thinks of how he physically can't provide that for them. It hurt him quite a bit but he had pushed all of that deep down, but holding this little boy in his arms... so little and fragile. He can kinda see a bit of MC in his eyes, and a little bit of himself in his little nose and skin. This could just him being completely delusional, this he knows; but it's such a nice little fantasy thinking this baby carries a part of him and the one he loves most. He supposes in the end, he will. This little boy will grow with him and MC's love, he will be taught all from the best teacher he could ever have. And Elio will be sure to not disappoint, he lets his son get away with a lot. The boy grows to be quite energetic as most little boys do, and that would normally grate on Elios nerves to have a child running around everywhere and grabbing everything with sticky little fingers. But for his son? "It's fine, he's just a kid doing exactly what kids do at his age. One of my books got ruined? *sigh* Can't be helped, I suppose. It's okay, it's just a book." MC would be flabbergasted the first time he acts so very forgiving towards his son, Elio's eyes look so much kinder when he sees his son. His smile is so genuine and it comes so naturally, getting him to open up and act this way with MC took a long time. But his baby boy won the keys to his heart just by existing.

Reach for the Stars! AU QnA:
Thank you so much for those of you who sent in asks!! Y’all are the best. 🥹
I’ve decided to compile the asks I received into one post for easier access. So far, this is Part 1. If y’all want Part 2, keep shooting me more questions! 😉
I had to type in some of the questions myself since Tumblr unfortunately only lets me put on 10 screenshots maximum. (I still put them in word-for-word too btw 😂)
But let’s dive into it, shall we?
(⚠️This is going to be a loooooooong read-)
……
@annymation
Yeaaaah, this section is dedicated to you. Couldn’t thank you enough for the support from the very beginning. Love ya, Anny!!! 💖✨
1.) Who are Asha’s parents? What do they mean to her and how have they influenced her life?
Asha’s parents are still known as the same from the canon movie, Tomás and Sakina.
It really bugged me in the film how they mentioned Asha’s father like TWICE, and never brought it up again. That sounds like a very good thing for character building, but nooooooo. They won’t even address it anymore. It’s just there so that Asha wins sympathy points from Magnifico >:/
Anyways, Tomás:
is a philosopher who had a dream to share his ideas with people around him. But he also had a passion to learning the ways of magic, which is why he worked as Oliver’s (the previous king before Mag) apprentice for 2 years in his reign before he passed away. After the king’s passing, Tomás became Magnifico’s assistant. No longer an apprentice since Mag had banned the usage of it other than him and his wife for “Rosas’ greater good.”
Tomás is passionate and holds true to his beliefs. He has a love and curious wonder for the ‘maybes’ and ‘what ifs’ of the old myth about Wishing Stars. Most of his work is written around them, gathering old info and recordings from old sources that claim the authors have been visited and blessed with the guidance of one. It’s a ‘legendary and once-in-a-lifetime’ chance for a star to ever go down to earth. But because of its rarity, most people don’t really believe the myth is true.
He shared this wonder and love of dreaming to his daughter, Asha. It was her favourite thing to do every now and then each night to sit under the stars, and listen to her father tell her about her favorite bedtime story about these wonderful, celestial and magical beings above them.
When Tomás unfortunately died from their house on fire, that ambition and confidence to become just like her dad someday within Asha, broke. It’s like it had withered away along with him. Ever since the tragedy, Asha closed in on herself and spent her time drawing on her sketchbook and on her own to cope with the loss. Keeping her mind busy by helping her mother carry out chores in the castle as she grew older.
Thus, it’s why she got so estranged with her 7 childhood friends. Asha loved her father and all her memories with him very dearly and it struck hard to have this dream be taken away from her so suddenly.
Tomás’ death is a very sensitive topic for her. Asha’s insecurities to accomplish things for herself stem from the fear of dreaming too big and experience that very same pain again of being disappointed if that dream could never be achieved. But at the same time, it serves as her motivation to help others with their own wishes and help them be happy. Because she, herself, wasn’t able to.
Sakina:
is a little more down-to-earth. She wants Asha to not look up at the sky all the time and actually appreciate what she currently has. She balances out her husband’s influence on their daughter. She’s happy to have Asha be a dreamer like her father, but it’s also important for her to notice just how lucky she is in the moment.
One of Asha’s flaws is that she fails to notice these little precious things since her eyes are always on the prize. She believes that the only way people can ever be truly happy is if their wish is granted. Her strongest trait is love. She cares so much that she barely looks out for herself anymore.
Sakina loves her daughter and is also saddened by her husband’s death. It pains her to see Asha be so distant and be missing that little spark she had as a child. It’s Sakina that constantly encourages her to open up to her old friends more.
Like I said, Sakina is a “in-the-moment” kind of person in contrast to Tomás. She was a seamstress before the tragedy, but ever since then, Sakina barely does this hobby that she used to love doing. She just does it in her free time now, which she barely even has. (She does spend the time making cute clothes for Valentino).
Whenever Asha is concerned on why her mother isn’t pursuing that hobby as much anymore, Sakina reassures her that it’s not so bad. What’s more important right now ‘at the moment’ is do her job as a servant to the king and queen and raise and look after her daughter.
………
2.) Are the 7 teens, or any different interpretation of them, any different in your rewrite? If so, how are they like and what will they serve to the story?
Funny, I actually already answered this same ask like twice now. 😂
I’ll just link the answer I’ve already done here.
……….
3.) How was Asha’s childhood?
It went just as normally as any child would have. Loving parents and a home with a South European exterior and a North African interior design. (I’m pretty sure that’s what it said in Wish’s Art book)
Asha pretty much lived in her family’s home until she’s 10 years old. That’s when tragedy struck, their house burned down, her dad…..you know. And now, Asha and her mother are generously given a place to stay in the castle in exchange for their services. To express their gratitude for the king and queen’s kindness.
Asha was only 8 when Magnifico started his reign as king, so she doesn’t really remember much of what Rosas was like back then. When magic wasn’t forbidden and can be studied by anyone. Back when the easy route didn’t exist and no one gives up their wishes to the king.
But at least she’s now growing up in a time where all wishes are given an equal chance to be granted very easily with no struggle or strife anymore, right?
……
4.) What do you want the moral of your story to be?
Fun fact:
When I was brainstorming how I would go with this rewrite, I went back to Disney’s roots. How did this company’s legacy come to life? Of course, I went back to their first movie: “Snow White and the 7 Dwarves.”
And you know what I found?:
Tumblr media
Walt risked everything to let this movie exist. He risked selling his house and going bankrupt because he believed so much that ‘Snow White’ would be a success.
“Omg, this company. Disney. All these amazing movies. Started because one man took a giant leap of faith and never gave up on his wish.”
And I knew I just HAVE to capture this one action that brought the Disney we all grew to love into life. (No. Not the corporate Disney we have now unfortunately-)
Every character in my AU will experience the fear of “what ifs.” What if this doesn’t work? What if I fail? What if it’ll all be for nothing?
But Walt Disney pushed and strived to reach his dream. Even if the odds weren’t pretty. So I wanted the moral of my story to be THIS. To never stop dreaming big.
And now, at least you know why I named my Wish rewrite: ✨ “Reach for the Stars” ✨

@apricotchocolate
Awwwwww, THX SO MUCH. 💖 It makes me so happy that people love what I’m trying to create. Believe it or not, this is the first time I’ve ever felt this committed to creating something grand. It’s kinda scary :,).
And Sueño’s backstory?
Hmmmm, I don’t want to spoil much.
All I’m going to say is he was unfairly captured from the sky at a very young age of only 12. And ever since then, Magnifico exploits and uses the young star’s Wish Magic to grant, collect and store the wishes of Rosas.
Basically, just think of this deleted scene where Mag attempts to pull down a star from the sky. ⬇️
Tumblr media
Will Sueño ever run out of Wish magic? No, not really.
The most important part of a star is their magical core. It’s like a human heart. A Wishing Star is born every time two mortals share their FIRST and MUTUAL Act of True Love, whether platonically, familial or romantically. The magic of this act of love shoots upwards to the sky, where a Wishing Star’s core is created and an ordinary ball of burning gas gains consciousness.
This core is what holds them together and it’s what produces more Wish Magic that is used up whenever they grant a wish. Without it, they fade away to dust and basically die.
So as long Sueño’s core is still intact, he’s fine. Sure, it still hurts to have Wish Magic extracted from him but, he’s alive. 🤷
I sure hope Mag doesn’t intend in absorbing it for desperate measures in the end, amirite?
……..

@chillwildwave
I’ll be honest here, I’m no song writer. No experience or not even know what makes a song “perfect” for a scene. As long as the song is a vibe and it makes sense to me, I don’t really pay attention much to the rhythm or beats.
But most likely, I’m going to be keeping some of the canon songs and tweak them a little bit? (Definitely keeping “This Wish” and “At All Costs” but tweaked.)
Or, if the song is too far gone to save it from my story’s context, (like “Welcome to Rosas”), I’ll probably just explain what happens in that scene and pretend there’s a song there.
Or
I could use some pre-existing Disney songs to set up a scene’s vibe but they won’t actually be sung. It’s just to enhance the experience I guess.
……….
Tumblr media
@spectator-zee
1.) I do actually! Omg, I even amazed myself on how I even came up with it. 😂
Magnifico’s end is going to be poetic and I already have a design in mind for him post-story. Also, the final battle? Ohohoho- it’s SOMETHING!!
It’s always the middle part of the story that gets me unfortunately 😤.
……..
2.) My favourite character has to be Sueño. I really love how I got creative with his character and make him really stand out from the other Starboys. Where he’s not exactly the naive “Let’s-grant-everyone’s-wishes!!” kind of guy. It’s the opposite.
I’ve also come to become fond on how he slowly opens up to the human world around him after all the paranoia and anxiety he used to have. Character development~ ✨
But I also liked Magnifico’s complexity too.
He’s tragic but it doesn’t excuse what he’s done. He’s incredibly cruel and he’s aware of it. He’s a hopeless romantic when it comes to Amaya. He’s someone sympathetic who didn’t deserve his village getting destroyed. He’s still a jerk and an arsehole who needs to be stopped. He’s someone whose concerns were unfairly ignored in the past. He’s still completely willing to make innocent people suffer underneath him.
Idk, I guess I just like grey characters.
……….
3.) Lol, Magnifico nor Amaya can’t speak sign language. And they’re used to the star’s passive attitude and being too afraid to stand up to them at all.
But the universal sign of ‘Fck you’ isn’t too hard to figure out once Sueño finally had enough of them and grow a backbone. Mag would be caught off-guard and heavily pissed about it, that’s for sure.
………..
Tumblr media
@ficsinhistory
Thank you so much for this question, because it really made me think about this for a bit!! (Not saying the previous asks didn’t, but this is just a point that I had a vague idea but didn’t put much detail into it yet.)
When Asha accidentally released the star that Magnifico had been keeping this past decade, the star escapes the castle and tries to return back to the sky. Only to crash back down again due to an enchantment on him that prevents him from leaving Rosas at all. He’s stuck on earth basically until they find and break the artefact holding the spell.
Which is undoubtedly back with King Magnifico-
If he wants to go back home to the sky, he’s going to have to go back to the castle and break this enchantment. Asha wants to help him, but out of concern and love for her kingdom, she needs his help to release a few wishes and grant these poor, dull and zest-less people a chance to experience the joy of their wishes granted without being in the king’s debt.
The star did not like the idea. He is out of the Wishing business for the next million years or so. But he literally has no idea how to sneak back in without attracting attention and without confronting the scary meanie of a king as much as possible. Plus, he doesn’t even know what a “normal human” acts like. Without her help, he could risk getting caught by the king’s magic. Again…
And dammit, how could he say no to that desperate, sad look on this girl’s face-
Fiiiiine. A few wishes granted but that’s it.
I guess ‘trusting Asha’ is more of a ‘he had no other choice’ kind of thing? He does inevitably have to interact with her on the way though. And at first, Star expresses his frustration with this situation with little harmless jokes, pranks, and stalling their journey back by interacting with the cute woodland creatures. Much to Asha’s frustration.
He initially thinks Asha is just like everyone else. She wants something from him. That’s it. He’s sort of distant at first, and he flinches and reacts negatively to any attempt of touching him.
Tumblr media
But over the course of the story, Star gets to learn more about who she really is. A loving and empathetic person who just wants what’s best for those around her. She even gave him a new name that meant she doesn’t see him as just merely a star.
Sueño. Someone who’s not just a wishing tool. She really treats him like an actual person. A person with feelings. Slowly, he starts to really trust her and become genuine friends with Asha.
And overtime, become a little smitten of her beauty both inside and out.
I mean, what, who said that-

@kstarsarts
I guess for Asha, she will try to understand as best she could and if it’s something serious, she’ll try to really listen and seek further clarification.
Though, if it’s casual talk and nothing important, she’ll do that introvert thing where they just politely nod and pretend that they definitely heard you because it’s too embarrassing to be saying “Huh???” like 5 times.
Sueño? He’s actually pretty extroverted once he’s out of his shell. So he isn’t shy to really ask for more detail on the subject if he needs to. He’s VERY familiar with the feeling of not being understood often because he, himself, can’t speak. So, he makes sure that he does put an effort to understand the person he’s talking to.
Though, he might accidentally go a little off-track with his questions and suddenly, you’re talking about an entirely different topic.
…………
Wow, this sure was interesting. Don’t you think?
As always, details might change in the future but this is really helpful for me to track down my thoughts on where this passion project is going.
I can’t say enough thank yous for all the asks and all the support!! Love y’all!! :DD 💖💖
Edit: Look at that, we have a Part 2 :)). Thanks Saph!!

Encanto Pepa/Félix prompt
Felix physically protects Pepa rather it be from a drunk asshole whose pissed about her hurricanes, or an ex boyfriend when she was younger… I’m just really in the mood to read him protecting the ‘more badass’ of the triplets bc she deserves it 🥺
Thanks! Let's mix it up a bit and have it be a drunk ex at their wedding. Contains obnoxious drunkenness and brief violence.
Things were winding down after the wedding. Sure, they’d all been drenched in the hurricane Pepa had created in all her worries, but overall, it had been a joyous celebration. The musicians had struck up a lively tune, and people were dancing, splashing water around as their feet hit the wet cobblestones. It was a bit more waterlogged than they might have preferred, but it seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves.
Pepa was utterly crestfallen. Félix could feel her shivering in his arms, and it wasn’t from the sudden cold. Her teeth chattered and she buried herself in his chest. “I ruined everything,” she cried, sobbing into his chest. “Today was supposed to be perfect, and I ruined it!”
Félix rubbed circles over her back, feeling Pepa’s disheveled braid drip water onto his hands. “Tranquila, mi vida. Everything was wonderful.”
“No it wasn’t!” Thunder clapped. “The sun was shining and the weather was perfect and then Bruno got in my head, and I ruined everything!” Sobs wracked her body as she slipped a hand inside the collar of his shirt, resting it on his chest.
“Pepi, everything was perfect. ¿Sabes por qué? Because I got to marry you. That was all I wanted. I don’t care if the sun is shining or it’s thundering or you whip up a blizzard in July. We’re here, Pepi. Me and you. Husband and wife.”
Pepa wiped a tear from her eye, a wan smile lighting up her face. “Mm, mi esposo. I like the sound of that.”
“Mi esposa, para siempre.” Félix kissed her, cradling her as she continued snuggling into him. The clouds parted overhead, rays of sunlight streaming through to illuminate them. He rocked her rhythmically until he could feel her breathing steady and tears dry up. He pressed a kiss to her forehead, brushing aside the bangs that had been plastered to her skin.
She hummed, closing her eyes and simply enjoying their closeness. Soon enough, the sun was strong enough to dry their surroundings. Smiling, she stood, pulling Félix up with her and started to dance. She was getting water everywhere, but she didn’t seem to care, and neither did he.
Finally, the time came to wrap up the festivities. People filtered out in groups, stopping to give their congratulations to the newlyweds. A fully recovered Pepa accepted them graciously, with the support of her new husband, who wrapped an arm protectively around her waist.
Most people had been perfectly lovely, wishing blessings on the pair, even though the weather had put a damper on the mood. But there was always that one hijueputa, and Félix spotted him right away, weaving his way through the crowd, weight shifting unsteadily from leg to leg as he approached them.
Félix tightened his grip around Pepa’s waist as he watched this man warily. There was something about him he didn’t like, and it wasn’t just the way he stumbled around like his legs were made of jelly.
“¡Felicidades!” Something rang hollow in his congratulations. He fixed his eyes on Pepa.
Félix noticed her tense up in his arms and saw her begin to worry her lower lip with her teeth. The man reeked of alcohol, sickly sweet, and he swayed from side to side. Félix steeled himself, ready for trouble as the man spoke.
“Not quite the wedding of your dreams, eh, Pepa?” He indicated the sky, still spotted with clouds. “Ah, but we should have known what to expect.”
“Go away, Tomás.” Pepa’s words were low, her voice shaking with anger. Her hand clenched in Félix’s chest hair.
“Pepa,” Tomás tutted. “Is that any way to accept congratulations from an old friend?”
“Pepa, who is this…man?” Félix could think of other more descriptive words to call him, but out of respect for his wife, he stayed civil.
“He is nobody, mi amor.” Pepa locked her eyes onto the man, blazing hatefully. “Just someone who was leaving.” She glared at him meaningfully.
“Pepa, did you not tell your new husband about us?”
“There is nothing to tell, Tomás.”
Félix looked from one to the other, confused. “What is going on here?”
“Nothing, mi amor. Tomás and I dated very briefly, long before we got together. No significó nada.”
“’Didn’t mean anything’? Well that’s insulting.” The man swayed in his spot. “Though I can’t say I blame her for not bringing me up. If she had, she would have had to tell you about everyone else she dated too. And that could take a while.”
Pepa narrowed her eyes, trembling with rage. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Come on, Pepa.” He put a hand on her shoulder, despite her recoiling at his touch. “We all know you got around.”
Félix stared daggers into him as he pushed his hand off Pepa. “Oye, I think you might have had a little too much guaro, ¿eh, parce?” He tried to keep his voice level, play it off as a joke. Surely this man wasn’t serious. “Why don’t you head home and sleep it off?”
Tomás barked out a laugh. “Ay, Félix, you’ll learn soon enough it is easier to deal with this one,” he jabbed a thumb towards Pepa, “after a few drinks.”
Pepa gasped, her eyes widening as they started to fill with tears. Her nails dug into Félix’s skin.
Keeping his arm around Pepa, Félix angled their bodies to distance her from Tomás, placing him right in front of the man. “You should leave,” he growled, his free hand tightening into a fist.
“But we’re having such a good time! You, me, and the weather witch who destroys half the town when she’s in a bad mood!” He slurred deliriously, barely able to keep his footing.
Pepa burst into tears, burying her head in Félix’s shoulder.
Félix gritted his teeth. “You can’t talk about my wife like that.” He unclenched his fist to soothe her, running over her back comfortingly.
“Why not? It’s true. Look around you.” Tomás swept his hand, demonstrating the wreckage that surrounded them. “She couldn’t even make it through her own wedding day without ruining it.”
Félix seethed. He had managed to restrain himself from knocking the man out cold so far, not wanting to tarnish their wedding day. But what finally wore down his resolve was hearing Pepa utter an almost inaudible: “He’s right.”
Félix saw red. Instantly, he stepped forward and landed a punch on the man’s nose, knocking him to the ground. A few people gasped, turning to take in the scene. It wasn’t strong enough to knock him out, so he was able to stand, wincing and rubbing at his swollen nose.
He gave them a gruesome smile, his bloodstained teeth unsettling them. “Hope she’s worth it,” were his parting words as he staggered off.
Félix shook out his hand, groaning at the pain in his knuckles. “¿Estás bien, mi amor?” He studied Pepa, who had stopped shaking and was frozen in place with shock.
“You punched a man on our wedding day,” was all she could say.
“He was badmouthing you! I had to protect your honor.” He took her by the arms and led her to a bench to sit.
She leaned into him, sighing. “Gracias, mi amor. But you did not have to do that.” Her chest heaved from her erratic breathing.
Félix held her as she calmed down. He knew Pepa could take care of herself, but he couldn’t stand by and listen as that pendejo insulted her. “You are my everything. I would do anything for you. Including punch someone on our wedding day.”
Pepa let out a small laugh. “I should have known he would show up. He was never able to see me happy after I dumped him.” Her mouth twisted into a grimace. “You should have heard the stories he spread about me then. Actually, I’m glad you didn’t. You might never have wanted to be with me.”
“There is nothing on earth that could make me not want to be with you.” He caressed her hand with his. “I don’t care what happened in your past. All I care about is the future we’re building together.”
She kissed him in gratitude, slumping onto his chest. Ragged breaths still tore through her, though lessening in frequency.
They sat in silence for a couple minutes. Just as he thought she was starting to feel better, her brow furrowed in a frown. “Amor, what if he was right? I know I can be a lot sometimes.”
Félix pulled her closer into his embrace. He hated this man for getting so deep into his Pepa’s head. “That culo was not right about anything. You are perfect, mi Pepita.”
Quirking an eyebrow in disbelief, she gestured to the chaos around them. “That’s perfect?”
He nodded. “It is, because it came from you. You are wonderful, strong, passionate, caring, sexy,” (she blushed and muttered íFélix! under her breath), “and I love everything about the person that you are. I wouldn’t change a single thing about you, mi Pepita. Except the way that you see yourself.”
Her eyes shimmered with tears, but her mouth quivered into a smile. “Te amo,” she whispered, pulling him into a kiss.
Félix reciprocated her kiss eagerly, thrilled he would get to spend the rest of his life with her.

Léon for the ask game!
favorite thing about them
God damn, I love how much of a diva this boy is. Messing up the music video because he absolutely HAD to sing with Violetta and just all his interactions with s2 Diego.
least favorite thing about them
This is a fault with all the characters, but he tends to not listen sometimes.
favorite line
THE CLASSIC “thanks, future father-in-law”. This dude called the world’s most over protective dad “future father-in-law” then just ran away before Germán could say anything.
brOTP
Him and Andrés. He’s a really good friend to him, being more patient than most people.
Also him and Fran. I love seeing m/f friendships that are strictly platonic and I love the chaotic energy of their friendship.
Also also, I have to say that I desperately needed more scenes of him and Ludmila post-breakup. I wanted to see them being two chaotic (but friendly) exes.
OTP
I think I like Dieleon the most. They have such INTENSE chemistry and always look like they’re about to kiss.
Though, I am warming up to Leonetta. Before, I only saw their problems (to be fair, I still do), but their best moments really stand out now. Also, I feel like they’re better in the fan fiction. Right now, I’d say I am more neutral towards them, but more of a positive neutral.
nOTP
Him and Gery, no no no.
random headcanon
Since his mom’s really chill with everyone going in his room, I feel like she’s really supportive of León if he ever comes out to her.

I don’t know D: Probably that I liked the idea of him and Lara just fine.

Podemos. It’s about him not being perfect but still being the right choice which is one of the things I like most about him because, honestly, it’s true. You can like any of Vilu’s love interests more, but you can’t deny that León is objectively the best one.
Tomás and Diego were clingy and even stalked her; Vilu friend zoned Clement from the start and when she did, he couldn’t take rejection; while León (although he had his problems) respected her boundaries.

birth name: Valentino Tomás Luca de Todos los Santos de Borbón y Castillo. legal name: Nathaniel Louis Moreno. nicknames: Nate. Nathan. age: 26. sexual orientation: exploring - will happily let an Illyrian cry baby bend him over while doing unspeakable things to a shadowsinger.  occupation: Owner of Ambrosia - a restaurant located in Brooklyn. personality:  nathaniel is the embodiment of sophistication and lover of life. he takes pleasure in the finer things, while also finding time to enjoy the simple as well. he has always thrived, no matter the situation he has been placed in. most would call him docile, a true gentleman. however, nate finds himself to be nothing special. instead, he just tries to be himself, giving what he can and not taking much. he doesn’t like to be held down, and the idea of responsibility doesn’t necessarily appeal to him, though he does take it on, especially with his business.  he is still young, and still has a time to find himself, but as he does so, he is going to continue to enjoy life and live day by day.
biography //
As the third, and youngest, child of the future king of Spain, Valentino lived a life of luxury, one that he was happy to be in. He might have been a possible heir to the throne, but being the second born male in the family, it gave Val a bit of wiggle room to live a freer life. Though, he was still held to the same learning and etiquette as his older brother. After all, if something happened to Fransisco, the crown automatically went to him, passing over his older sister thanks to succession laws - ones that their father had decided to not change. He didn’t mind this though - the idea of pressure and the possibility of responsibility greater than most. If anything, he didn’t believe that it was possible for him to become king, his brother always doing everything that was required of him. But as he got older, things seemed to shift and his father began to seem to resent the spirit of Valentino. When he asked about this, his mother simply told him that he was worried for her son’s life, the choices he was making. He believed her, but there was still a part of him that didn’t believe it was the full truth. Especially as rumors began to swirl, vicious ones at that. He was not the biological son of the king of Spain. Instead, he was said to be the bastard of his mother and her lover. These rumors were put to rest, but it still sparked too many questions, too much “what if’s” for people to be pleased. That was when the threats began, threats that were hard to ignore. Especially when they began to target not only him, but his mother as well. Fanatics surrounding Sisco’s claim to the throne believed that if anything were to happen to him, it would be Val’s fault and therefore they wanted him gone. Literally. The threats only intensified, and eventually a move was made.
Plans to remove the Infante were made, and soon they were played out. Valentino was simply doing his own thing, living his life when someone began shooting, and hit him. Luckily for him, it wasn’t anything fatal, though that didn’t mean it still didn’t leave it’s mark upon him. However, though he made it out of there alive, publicly it was said that Valentino didn’t make it. That the wounds were too great and that he had passed after an extensive surgery. To say he was confused was an understatement. But soon his “father” explained. He was not willing to risk the life of his youngest son, no matter if he was blood related or not. That alone left Val to realize that the rumors might be true - that he was not this man’s child. But he didn’t dwell too much, and instead asked what was to happen to him. He was to be reborn as a new persona, and to move out of the country within the next few months, when his recovery was completed. That was how Nathaniel Louis Moreno was born, and his life in the United States began.
Currently, Nate is living a life in Brooklyn. No one truly knows him, no one stops him to ask him his views on this policy or that. No one gawks at him as he dines with friends, or people to take pictures of him, wishing him a life full of happiness and prosperity. Instead, Nate spends his time doing all of the things that he never truly felt like he could do in Spain: being himself as number one. He went to NYU, got a business degree and eventually opened a small restaurant, Ambrosia. He keeps in contact with his family, though as little as possible, not only for the sake of his own sanity, but for safety reasons. Things changed though when Fransisco showed up, now known as Santiago. He is being forced to live with his brother, orders of the King of Spain, and so he is dealing with that. There is tension between the two, especially considering Nate harbors a bit of resentment towards his older brother. Though it’s unfair and unjustified, considering it wasn’t his fault for his supporters choices to harm Nate. Moving past that though, he is trying to live life how he sees fit, though he’s unsure of where he now fits in with his brother in America. That’s something he may have to figure out, and soon.
similarities to natalia // need for freedom • neither natalia nor nathaniel want the responsibility of the possible crown. though it is widely impossible, it still looms over them, and therefore the being in america, the new identities, it gave them what they needed.  the royalty aspect • the third in line to the throne, the youngest of three kids. the need to be perfect for their families.
differences to natalia // more confidence/no eating disorder • nathaniel has more confidence than natalia ever has. that probably has to deal with the lack of being criticized in public and being picked apart, therefore no body dysmorphia or eating disorder. no child • there was never a drunken marriage to dominic king that resulted in an unplanned pregnancy. instead, he lives his life as childless. no stalker • though he deals with his own share of “stalkers” it isn’t the same as tali. instead of being stalked and lusted over, he was threatened for being a possible bastard child.

~
Who told you that lie?
That you were easy to forget?
Dont listen to your friends their just witness to the other half
Two kisses are too much
But one kiss wont be enough
And even if you warn a soldier
If hes in love in war he will die
You no longer have to take care of me because
I've always known that your kisses kill
That your promises riddle with pain
That youre an expert of stealing heartbeats from heart
And you
You never promised me i wouldnt get hurt
So you dont have to apologize for my choices
And i confess that i dont regret it
And even if i suffer i could be worse
Knowing that your kisses kill id die of love
~
If this is not chot Thomas i dont want it
ZIAAA! OMG THIS IS EVERYTHING!
The passion. The intensity. It's what I want from them both in Chot. Give me the angst! Give me thomastair hopelessly and madly in love with each other. Give me Thomas going above and beyond to make sure Alastair knows that he deserves better. Give me Alastair giving Tom the freedom and space to grow and figure out who he really is beyond his assigned "role" in the group and in his family. Give me the two of them supporting each other!
Ughhhh why can't we just write it ourselves/hj

Encanto OC Event Week 2
Part 1: Tomás Herrera & The Madrigals
For this week about OC relationships, this'll be a perfect opportunity for me to introduce a couple background OCs that I wasn't able to last week. In order to prevent an insane amount of clogging I've decided to split the info into multiple posts, starting with the Madrigals' relationship with my favorite Just Some Guy: Tomás Herrera!
Tomás, like many other villagers within the Encanto, has lived his life understanding that the Madrigals were special people with incredible abilities. He's grown up respecting them as such, but eventually he'll come to find himself being taken in as one of their own and adopting their name - and their legacy. But though Tomás is happy to marry the love of his life and join her family, doing so comes with some difficulty adjusting to the new environment: he's gone from a household of four, to three, to two, to over a dozen. Everything gets so busy and bustling so quickly, and initially it's a little hard to keep up; for the first few years under Casita's roof, Tomás feels decidedly "un-ceptional" and like an outsider who is a Madrigal in name only. But as years go by and he gets more comfortable with all the new activity, responsibilities, and magic, he'll come to accept himself as being where he belongs just as the rest of the family already has.
Tumblr media
In regards to Camilo Madrigal:
Tomás and three of his good friends (Santiago Torres, Cristián Vargas, and Rafael Molina) bond with Camilo as they and the rest of the town help to rebuild Casita after the events of the movie. Camilo had his own friends his age, of course, but there was something special to him about being taken in by a patch of older boys and being considered one of their own. He's simply Little Brother Shaped!
Tumblr media
Though all four of them have their own dynamics with Camilo, Tomás and Camilo grow very close despite their seemingly conflicting personalities. Camilo aims to help Tomás loosen up and come out of his shell in ways he likely wouldn't attempt to do on his own, and in return Tomás offers Camilo stable and level-headed advice that is a welcome change in perspective from the kind he gets at home.
Of course they can get on each other's nerves, namely when Tomás won't budge or when Camilo's joking goes too far. But all in all they're a bulletproof duo, where Camilo gets the older brother he never had and Tomás gets to be the older brother he should have had.

In regards to Luisa Madrigal:
Tumblr media
The experiences Tomás had growing up alongside Luisa Madrigal weren't unique nor exclusive only to him. He's hardly the first or only villager she's extended her hands to over the years - but from mundane favors to quite literally saving his life, everything Luisa has ever done for Tomás has meant the world to him, even if to her they were simply her duties as a Madrigal.
But despite what he may have believed, Tomás hadn't been completely invisible to Luisa. She knew him well enough as someone she grew up and went to school with, and though she was indeed doing what she needed to, she never really forgot any time she helped him (or anyone else). If anything, he was a friend to her!
What really sealed Tomás's fate was a moment he witnessed something he wasn't meant to, one that helped him recognize that someone as unremarkable as him and someone as special as her actually could have something in common: the mindset that one's own feelings could be ignored when there were more important things to worry about. From there admiration blossomed ruthlessly into a hopeless crush, and though it took him a while to be able to pull it off, he relayed his feelings to her through a simple gift: a hand carved wooden dove for her 20th birthday.
As a couple they compliment each other nicely, though in a different way than Tomás's friendship with Camilo. They are each other's pillar; his emotional stability allows him to support her in her time of need, whereas he feels safe and at ease when she's around. Luisa can very well take care of herself, this she and everyone else knows... but sometimes it's nice to sit back and let herself be treated like a princess, something Tomás is always more than happy to oblige. There's little room for arguments or disagreements between them, provided they don't try to out-martyr each other - sometimes it is necessary for one to wring true feelings and thoughts out of the other like they're pulling teeth. But they can't hide from each other, and over time it becomes much easier for them to be open and accept that maybe their feelings do matter when someone is willing to listen.
He is her osito. She is his paloma. he's so in love with her it makes him look stupid

In regards to the other Madrigals:
Bulletpoints to make things go a little more quickly--
Julieta, as his future mother-in-law, is the closest thing Tomás has had to a mom since his own's passing. He's bashful around her for a while, even moreso when he gets the greenlight to start calling her Ma. He comes to enjoy helping her in the kitchen periodically, as he already has cooking experience from living with his father.
He wants to make a good impression on Agustín very much, despite how remarkably easy it is to get on the man's good side - all Tomás really had to do was promise to take care of his daughter and Agustín was sold. Tomás would like Agustín to teach him how to play piano but he doesn't know how to ask.
Mirabel, by virtue of hanging out with Camilo a lot, ends up getting close to Tomás as well. Tomás doesn't know how he ended up with not one but two teenage ducklings following him around but he's not mad about it. When Tomás and Luisa become engaged, Mirabel gifts him with an embroidered vest that he wears all the way up until the wedding.
The only problem Tomás has in regards to Antonio is that he's terrified of wild animals. Antonio himself is a perfectly sweet kid and Tomás is kind to him when he wants to socialize, but he'll be a little on edge if Parce decides to tag along. It likely takes years for him to get used to having the denizens of the jungle waltzing around the house, but he comes to trust Antonio to keep a handle on them.
Alma intimidates the hell out of him, especially since he's in a very Agustín-like position of probably not being her first choice to wed one of her grandchildren. But he'll prove himself to her in how devoted he is not only to Luisa but to Camilo as well, and eventually earn her blessing (to which he's both grateful and relieved).
Similarly, Isabela is a little tough on him at first and is the one to give him the third degree when she finds out he's involved with her baby sister. She recognizes he's kind of a marshmallow soon enough though and eases up on him after that. There's a cordial mutual fascination between the two and their skillsets, given Isa's ability to conjure trees and Tomás's ability to turn those trees into something new.
Tomás and Dolores are shaking hands over being exasperated by their goofy little brother Camilo, but beyond that their lowkey personalities mesh quite well. Oddly enough, between Dolores's Gift and Tomás's natural observational skills, the two tend to have enough information between them to quietly discuss goings-on around town.
Pepa and Félix are a little more removed from Tomás due to him being a cool color family addition, but as housemates there's still interactions to be had. Félix's extroversion brings a lot of energy Tomás doesn't always know what to do with and Pepa's storms take some time to adjust to, but all three of them readily agree on how much they care about Camilo and that's all that's really needed to keep the harmony.
Bruno keeps to himself more often than not and Tomás wholeheartedly understands. That said, once Tomás gets a good read on how Bruno operates and how best to approach him, they're able to have a rather polite rapport. The rats skeeve Tomás out a little but they're no big deal compared to things like jaguars and anacondas, thus Tomás can be convinced (by Mirabel and/or Camilo) to offer his talents and build little sets for Bruno's telenovelas.
Mariano is in the same boat as being a mundane marrying into a very non-mundane family, and with the added history of being casual friends beforehand Tomás ends up gravitating towards him as they adjust to their new lives as Madrigals. They, along with Camilo, end up becoming more or less the second generation parallels to the Madriguys that came before them - Tomás's Agustín to Mariano's Félix to Camilo's Bruno.

Part 2 will be coming shortly! Then, as I'm fairly certain it's already technically Week 3, the post for that week's prompt will follow sometime soon after.

Just some notes I want to make for my OC Tomás and his interactions with my main character. Which this mother fucker wrote himself into existence. Don't ask me how or when. He was just a side character that was inferred to and referenced by name here or there but never physically existed. Then boom, one day I realized he's an actual character now, used as a main support to my main characters. Wtf?
---
This will discuss sensitive topics and key points. I will mark which points I think contain them if you do want to read through the info dump on Tomás.(The story as a whole is meant to discuss dark, morally grey, sensitive, and otherwise uncomfortable topics in every day life. You know, the ones everyone knows exist but don't speak or think much on.)
---
- Tomás has a fatherly complex towards Macaw. Tomás himself wasn't part of Otto's gang, but they were closely affiliated with one another. Tomás essentially got to watch Macaw grow up, while under Otto's control.
-Tomás never took care or interest in Otto's other men, even though they were also harshly treated by Otto. It wasn't his place to try and dictate how a another leader treated his crew. But he took interest in Macaw when he was first initiated into Otto's gang at the age of 10.
-[Sensitive Content Point.] Tomás is kind of the reason why the child Macaw ended up in the position he was thrown into. It was completely accidentally, but none the less, he's partly responsible for bringing the child into the harsh abuse he faced over the years. Long story short, Otto would occasionally ask Tomás if he wanted to invest into things - usually that just meant investing in bringing in drugs or weapons then once the deals over, Tomás would get a cut. The one time was different, and he accidentally partially funded the purchase of child to be used and raised specifically for Otto's wishes and dirty work. Tomás's supposed benefit from this investment would have been that he had a well broke and trained person to serve him in the future whenever he needed the child's assistance with his own illegal activities. Of course Tomás never used this benefit after learning what Otto bought. However, he would hire out the kid from time to time just to give the kid a break from Otto for a day or two. He wouldn't have Macaw do anything special, just hang out and help with more mundane things like deep cleaning Tomás's bar, or running errands around the city. Macaw didn't think much of it, and always thought Tomás was strange for never having him actually DO anything. He didn't realize that the man was subtly looking out for him. Since Tomás was powerless to stop Otto's abuse of him, he could at least give the kid a rest here and there.
-Tomás's lack of harsh treatment and the kind gestures would actually make Macaw uneasy being around him. He didn't really know how to react to being treated gently by someone with command over him. So Macaw, naturally was always more paranoid in Tomás's presence whenever Tomás would take him for a day.
-As a response, that's why Tomás feels so strongly about trying to keep Macaw safe in his current life happenings. He feels like he owes it to Macaw.
-Macaw doesn't actually realize just how indebted Tomás is too him. He just views Tomás as a business partner and a connection from his old life that he can use when he needs/wants to conduct some of his own shady ordeals. Granted, this is also because Tomás has never said anything about his views or feelings towards Macaw. He'd have to open a can of worms to try and explain them, so he just leaves well enough alone. No need to bring up things that would be hard on Macaw to think about. Macaw is fragile in the emotional aspect of things. He doesn't need to think about or over analyze the darker parts of his life. But, Tomás still has eyes around the city to watch Macaw and he will pull strings to make sure Macaw doesn't end up in too much trouble without Macaw even knowing. Tomás is basically Macaw's own mob boss guardian angel.
-[Sensitive Content Point] One would ask why Tomás wouldn't have had Macaw join his men. He would be taken care of, he'd be treated with respect and humility, and it would be insured that he would be safe under Tomás's leadership. As one of Otto's members, it wouldn't be possible to try and gain Macaw as his own man. It would cause a major rift between Otto's and Tomás's affiliated business and would turn them into enemies. Having his own gang clashing violently with Otto's was NOT something he'd do. When Macaw was older, and took control as leader of Otto's gang, Tomás wouldn't want to accept him into his gang either at that point. Macaw was far too unhinged, unstable, and out of touch with reality that having him integrated with his own gang wouldn't fair well. It was just too dangerous to have him around. At this point in Macaw's life, Tomás wasn't expecting for Macaw to pull himself out of his fractured mental state. He was honestly expecting Macaw to kill himself the deeper he fell into it his rampage. Tomás wasn't going to interfere with Macaw's actions or doings at this point. He was just going to let it unfold. He didn't think Macaw could be helped or saved. Now in his current life, he wouldn't dare ask Macaw to join him. The guy is truely "free" now. Although kind, forgiving, and rather lenient. Tomás requires complete and utter dedication and allegiance of his men. No matter who you are. Step out of line, and you're dealt with. He wants Macaw to be able to be his own man, he wouldn't ever want to have Macaw feel like he were owned or caged after what he went through. He knows Macaw wouldn't ever purposely cross him, it's not a question of Macaw's loyalty. It's simply a matter of not wanting to be a commanding authority over him out of pure respect. Macaw needs to find his own place in life where he's fully in control of himself and his doings. Macaw is welcome to come and go as he pleases in Tomás's doings. But he won't ever commit or force Macaw into doing any of them. He'll even stop Macaw from willingly joining some of them because he feels like Macaw doesn't need to re-associate with certain aspects of his former life.
-[Sensitive Content Point] Tomás later on in the story requests the assistance of his old military/police force friend, Erik. He requested his assistance with watching over Macaw, because Macaw starts showing signs that he's slipping again. Much faster than his first break. Tomás knows Macaw won't listen to rationality in the state of mind he is now, and Tomás wouldn't be able to physically handle him when he's becoming aggressively reactive. Like, he can technically, but not in a non-fatal way. (Macaw is a lot larger is stance than Tomás and physically stronger.) After a tense incident with Macaw when he was behaving aggressive towards everyone in the group, Tomás had a moment where he reached for his gun. At that instant he knew Macaw was out of hand. If the only thing he could have thought of to do was pull a gun on him to take back control of the situation. He knew the next time it had to be done, he would more than likely have to kill Macaw. Hence why he called on Erik to keep Macaw physical handled and in check. If there's one person who can man handle Macaw, it's Erik.

theodore l. sherwood ↳ 34 ● ps sports personality ● air ● t. hiddleston
break down: theo is a nola native, both his parents are respective surgeons at tulane that placed high expectations on him which has been a point of contention for years. he was kicked out in his senior year and lived with his best friend ben prescott's family. he previously worked as a co-host with ben for a sports radio show but now they're trying to get a youtube channel going based on the same show. he got struck by lightning during hurricane karl in 2016 and narrowly survived with a host of medical issues and anxiety. he's got an improved relationship with his mother but doesn't talk to his father. he's cynical, has commitment issues and likes the playboy kind of lifestyle. he's also incredibly loyal and protective, tends to show he cares by being an ass and making jokes.
plots: one of the things i’ve been thinking about doing with theo for a while is addressing the issues he’s got with his father.  he’s resolved things with his mother, but hasn’t talked to his father in nearly three years and i think its about time he does that. i’d also like to get him actually talking about the shit he’s gone through, not professionally, he won’t go that far but some how with some one. friends, strangers, something. maybe also another health scare, he needs to regular the diet a little more then he’s been doing recently.

cesar e. cortez ↳ 36 ● criminal ● earth ●  m. montana
break down: better know as tez to friends, was raised in a trailer park in new orleans and is a career criminal. it start with a joy ride at fourtheen and then he spent a year in juvie and at sixteen he lost his father, at seventeen he gained a stepfather and moved out after they came to blows. he's got two brother's he'd do anything for though he often appears to favour diego over tony, its not actually the case. he was a drug dealer from nineteen to twenty five when he decided he wanted more. he has a salvage yard with a chop shop (and a couple other businesses), he traffics drugs, he steals cars, races cars, he's done just about everything you'd expect just by looking at him. he only cares about those that are important to him and still has a habit of looking out for himself first. he is manipulative and cunning with sharp survival instincts. he makes no apologies for who he is.
plot: i’m mostly looking to keep tez on this path of self discovery through actions and mistakes. he’s very self aware but there’s so much he keeps locked away from people and ultimately from himself that he needs to face and actually handle.  i would also really love doing more with the criminal side of him because it is a big part of who he is.

TW: DRUGS, ADDICTION, DEATH.
- ̗̀✰ •【 CHRIS WOOD / CISMALE / 29 】announcing the arrival of his royal highness, ( EMILIO DE COIMBRA ), the ( PRINCE ) of ( PORTUGAL ). I’ve heard that he is ( STUBBORN ) & ( FACETIOUS ) but can also be ( PASSIONATE ) & ( LOYAL ). ( EMILIO ) is arranged to marry ( TATIANA ROMANOV ). Rumor has it ( HE IS ADDICTED TO COCAINE ). We hope you enjoy your stay at London!
sup bbys it’s riley again ( i also play christian and tomás ) and we r back w yet ANOTHER sad boy ™ , emilio AKA MILO, however this one is on a REDEMPTION ARC. MARK MY WORDS. we r in for a wild ride. as always. a pretty damn lengthy intro post underneath the cut. and as always, GIVE THIS POST A LIKE or slide into my tumblr ims / discord dms for some plot ho™ action thnx
BACKSTORY ! tw: drugs, addiction, death.
( read more  about the de coimbras here !! elle did such a fanfabtastic job )
long story short, milo was close with his family, but not super close. he loved his parents and his siblings a lot, but never really showed it; would protect his siblings at all costs but never told them everything. sort of like a semi-close but not too-close kind of vibe there.
he was very close with his father, though -- despite their arguments about staying out late or getting in with the wrong people sometimes, he really looked up to his father. he respected the shit out of him for marrying out of love and not for political reasons, and always thought that just maybe he could do the same. but ofc, that future was not for him (OR WAS IT ....... stay tuned).
being the second oldest, he was expected to have responsibilities, but he never had the burden of knowing that he would have to lead a country ( that is, until now ). he had a weird relationship with his duties before pedro fell into his coma; knowing his status as a member of the royal family, he had things he had to do, but sort of skirted by and did the bare minimum. he’d attend galas, meet other royals, uphold a certain standard of himself, but other than that, he felt as though he had free reigns over what else he wanted to do with his life. that typically meant going out with his friends, traveling to the south of france for a weekend with his friends, etc. he wasn’t too rowdy as a teenager, but he dabbled in some drugs here and there. nothing too serious.
TW: DEATH. BUT THEN his father died when he was 23 and out of college, working as a manager for some international nonprofit, he spiraled out of control for a while.
and by that i meant he would go out and go like sicko mode version of his old life, like full send on drugs and partying and completely neglecting his duties as a royal. he got shit from his family and his siblings but he found even more that there was no reason to worry that much about his duties n shit.
the one bright spot in his life from age 23-present day was tatiana. o boy did he fall hard when he met her at age 26, almost got control of his life again with her in it. he was seriously in love w her but of course, his whole mindset of not giving a shit wasn’t really cutting it and he was probably not the best boyfriend LET ALONE someone that another royal should be betrothed to / associated with, so they broke it off after about two years.
TW: DRUGS, ADDICTION. the six months between his break-up with tatiana and pedro’s accident that put him in a coma was probably milo’s all time low. he went through a phase where he’d sleep around trying to get over her, this was also the time when he really got hooked on cocaine. he’d do it to try and feel something, and really spiraled to his absolute lowest. royal family negligence was at an all time high. real low point for my dude right here.
flash-forward to pedro’s accident, about six months ago -- it turned milo’s entire life upside-down. he was now the crowned prince, the one who would have to rule a country. he realized how much responsibility he would have to carry, without either of his parents or his older brother to help him. he started to turn things around -- cut out the partying, the sleeping around, the excessive drinking. he started to realize how vulnerable a human life was, realizing that his father’s passing and his brother’s accident were real, not just flukes, and his entire outlook on life changed.
he wanted to be good. he wanted to be good enough to be a role model for his younger siblings just like pedro had been for him; he wanted to be a leader that the portuguese people would stand behind and support, but he knew he had a long way to go.
TW: ADDICTION. he continues to put in a lot of good work to improve his character, his habits, his relationship with his family, and his royal duties. however, there still exist a few flaws: the fact that milo never wanted to be king or ever rule a country still weighs down in his heart, and he still harbors a bit of resentment toward carlotta for indirectly pushing this life on him, but also, deep down, he knows that without this push, he would still be in a very dark hole. second, due to the immense amount of sudden pressure pushed onto him, milo still frequently uses cocaine and needs it to relieve himself of pressures.
PERSONALITY !
milo is definitely outgoing and has a witty sense of humor. the fact that he was sort of a black sheep made him have a bit of a self-deprecating of humor at times in his life, but it shows that he is actually pretty self-aware as well.
milo is friendly; despite not really wanting to have a royal title, especially not that of ‘crown prince’, he does like getting to know people, and in a lot of cases, that means other royals. however, get on his bad side or annoy him, and he’ll be cold or aggressive.
milo is emotional, but doesn’t really show it. he bottles up a lot of his emotions and lets them out by himself, but we’ll all be damned if he ever cried in front of maybe more than like 1 person. while he is self-aware about a lot of things, he doesn’t know how to deal with his emotions sometimes.
milo was a bit cynical, but has been wanting to change. he used to think that every man was out for himself, but having come into a leadership role, he sees different perspectives better now.
milo is a little impatient, but he’s working on it. he’s really working on it 1!!!!!!!!!
TIDBITS !
milo is called milo only by his close friends and family; he still goes by emilio regularly.
milo is really into astronomy; often times while drunk / high / neglecting responsibilities, he’d find himself staring at the stars in the garden. he likes studying constellations. it’s cool and it’s his little nerdy thing.
milo is pansexual; doesn’t really care for gender or sex and probably discovered this during college or something.
milo really is into action movies. like fast and the furious or something. i don’t really know other action movies.
milo learned how to play guitar, probably when he was really high or something. he’s actually pretty good. probably used it to woo women at some point, but deep down it’s one of very few things that can calm him down.
AESTHETIC ! tw: alcohol.
well-fitted sweaters, headphones around his neck, expensive watches, pen ink stains, a neat desk, rock music, star maps, spearmint gum, speaking three languages in the same sentence, old cartoons, faded tanlines, smokey cologne, dark chocolate.
POTENTIAL PLOTS ! tw: drugs, alcohol, addiction.
previous friends / party buddies, people who milo used to hang around in some of his more crazy points of his life -- people who could do lines with him, who would travel recklessly around the world with him, who probably fed into his ‘fuck royal duties’ kind of thing. he probably cut ties eventually when he realized how stupid it was to be doing all these things ( about six months ago ); things could be tense now.
childhood friends, people who maybe were of similar age and who attended different royal gatherings together. preferably friends who grew up together and sort of got up to shenanigans.
former friends, probably someone of similar age and take their royal duties more seriously. when milo began to fall into a more carefree lifestyle, perhaps they didn’t agree with his life choices and their friendship fell through.
exes / flings, probably a handful of them. given that he’s charismatic and outgoing, he’s likely to charm his way to a person’s heart if he takes interest in them / they take interest in him. him being facetious and not taking things as seriously as he should, things probably ended if / when it was expected for the relationship to be long-term or serious.
good influence, someone who sees the potential in milo’s turn in perspective and may tutor him in royal tricks, or is trying to help him get off the rails finally ( bonus: they’ve seen him do coke and are subtley trying to him him get his shit together there )
literally ? anything ? hit me the fuck up once again LIKE THIS or dm me on tumblr/discord and lets get some P L O T S goin my dudes

introducing,
waddup, peeps ?? this tiny bean goes by the name of rue ( she/her ) and i’ll be playing soft boy™, luca rosario. he’s pretty much a new faceclaim for me with an old character’s background. however, francisco has recently become my forever fave, therefore i’m so excited to have the opportunity to play him !! if you would like to hmu for plots / scream about connections all day long, please give this a like and i’ll come wiggling into your ims ( or discord; find me at justrue#2233 ) shortly after. under the cut, you’ll find a brief summary about luca and his life. also all my wcs are listed over here if you wanna check that out as well. his stats can be found here too. can’t wait to start interacting !!
Tumblr media
+ disclaimer: very slight talks of cancer and mental health are below. read at your discretion.
layer one: the stats.
name. luca leonardo rosario.
alias. people usually just call him by luca but sometimes luke, luki, or leo make an appearance.
title. over time, he has proudly deemed himself an obsessive pizza addict, artistic nutcase, or one of the missing dead poets society members.
name meaning. his true significance of his name means a bringer of light.
age. eighteen years old.
gender identity. cis-male.
pronouns. he/him.
sexual orientation. predominately panromantic demisexual. it isn’t so much so that luca is completely disinterested in sex (he’s got a perfectly good libido, thank you very much), he just doesn’t find himself sexually attracted to people based on physical appearance or initial impressions. instead he finds personality, intellect, and existing emotional attachment considerably more compelling. the idea of intimacy with somebody he’s not close with rather repulses him.
current residence. boston, massachusetts.
religion. he was raised roman catholic but converted to spiritual agnosticism when he was fifteen. he views that universal ethics and love are far more important than claims about any deity and trivialize the arguments supporting or rejecting such claims. to luca, it doesn’t matter which religion someone might follow, nor does it matter whether or not someone believes in god. what matters is what someone does, not what they believe. he has his parents’ full support in his switch even though the rest of his family practices catholism.
spoken languages. portuguese  (fluent/main), english (fluent/2nd main), french and polish (still learning but can understand it quite well).
education. currently a senior at houghton academy.
layer two: the story.
- so this is my baby boy, luca rosario and i love him sm ?? he usually goes by luca, but on occasion people call him either luke, luki, or leo. but he doesn’t care what people call him as long as it’s kind.
- luca was born in san paulo, brazil to both loving and supportive parents named jeremi and mariana. he lived there until he was six years old when his family moved to boston because his parents, who are both marine biologists, were located for work.
- his parents had him when they were both young.
- luca was also born out of wedlock, so by the time his parents decided to marry two years after he was born, his parents had already made the decision to give him his mother’s maiden name even though his father’s surname is polish.
- growing up, he had and still does, have a great relationship with his parents. with his childhood consisting nothing more than love and devotion from his parents, luca had nothing to complain about. his parents loved him dearly, whose pure heart and open-mindedness they helped to cultivate. they encouraged luca’s belief in extraordinary things and hoped he had carried it throughout his life growing up. his parents had always made him promise to have courage and be kind to others, for—as they explained to him—kindness has power, and that they would see him through all the trials that life could offer, in life and death.
- cancer/mental illness tw: when he was thirteen, his mother had been diagnosed with cervical cancer. upon hearing the news, luca’s whole world clasped. not only was he at a pivotal stage in his life where everything was changing and becoming more stressful ( becoming a teenager, starting high school, going through puberty ), one of the most important people in his life had be claimed by the deadly disease altogether. so many thoughts and feelings were going through his mind at the time, that he ran himself physically sick and had experienced his first panic attack. he has since been medically diagnosed with panic disorder. thankfully the cells on his mother’s cervix were diagnosed at precancerous stage and the doctors were able to treat it because it developed and spread. however, that didn’t and doesn’t stop luca from being in a constantly state of panic every time his mother so much as feels pain or coughs due to irrelevant reasons. the entire year had changed him and his family for a while.
- he has brother, who is three years younger than him, named tomás. his relationship with his brother, however, is a bit estranged. as much as he loves his brother and wishes they could see eye-to-eye, sometimes they have a tendency to butt heads often. whether that might mean your typical sibling arguments or full-on blown out fights, they just can’t seem to see get along. sometimes people believe they aren’t actually related or that they’re half siblings because when his brother was born, he took their father’s last name.
- most people would describe luca as the benevolent. despite being in a world where there’s hatred and suffering, luca declares himself independent and strong-willed by remaining kind-hearted and self-loving, not allowing the bitterness surrounding his life to overtake him and morph him into someone as cruel as the world seems to be every day. he makes the most of his life by remaining optimistic of the possibilities of a brighter future. but besides that, he’s also witty and sarcastic. he is unafraid to stand up for himself when he feels he’s in the right–or at least, attempt to do so. and although he strives to contain his optimism aura, he can fall into fits of frustration and annoyance quite often.
- he’s also super quiet and shy. he loves to make friends but because of his quiet complex, he usually has trouble speaking up and making his voice heard. he tends to become flustered a lot too when he can’t express his emotions; which he has trouble doing anyway when he’s not flustered.
- luca is capable of enduing tremendous hardship. though he may not handle difficulty in the healthiest or best way, often repressing emotion, he mostly like emerges on the other side. he doesn’t know how to express his emotions in a diplomatic way, but rather fumbles it all up and starts to ramble. rarely opens up because of this.
- to put it plan and simple luca is an art ho. luca always loved anything artistic. even when he was little, he would go around with his disposable camera and take pictures of everything and then take to paper to draw of all the things he had taken pictures of as well.
- he’s like a hippie dippy child of the universe. no joke. no seriously, his place at home is full of sensual shit and art. it’s getting out of hand and somebody needs stop him soon.
- he strongly believes that art is an umbrella term that relates to expressing of oneself ( not just through photography and painting ) and that everyone has the freedom to express themselves however they please. because of his beliefs, he chooses to break gender roles like bread and wears whatever the fuck he wants because yolo.
-  his appearance pretty much represents his hippie dippy lifestyle with him wearing all sorts of cute hipster shit. he’s clothes are v flow-y but don’t let that fool you. he doesn’t miss the opportunity to represent his upper-middle class within his style, so he does dress to impress, let me tell you ( he’s a fashion ho too ). his hair color changes sometimes too depending on his mood but it’s generally never too eccentric.

It’s churning under the calm surface of his mind like STORM-WATER.
NAME: Noah Tomás Ribeiro AFFILIATION: American POSITION: Diplomat in training AGE: 25 SEX: Male ORIENTATION: Bisexual
BIOGRAPHY:
Marisa Ribeiro and Stephan Reed had never been able to beget a child. Even though adoring their first, adopted son Elias, the wish for their own flesh and blood never abated. Sitting at the seaside and praying to the ocean day and night, Marisa was shocked to learn that she was indeed carrying a child. As it seemed, the ocean had listened to her desperate calls.
Raised as the son of a diplomat and yet loved like any other normal child, Noah grew up with the ocean constantly calling him home. His perception seemed to differ from those around him - with senses strong enough to make him both appreciate and fear his colorful surroundings, Noah quickly found himself struggling with noises and details no one else his age seemed to be able to pick up on. “Highsensitive”, his mother called it, “Hyperactive” those traits that made him restless and full of energy at all times.  Even though Noah was a peaceful soul by nature, it became increasingly harder for him to keep his emotions under control. There was a storm beneath his skin, beating in his chest and raging in his veins. His family remained supportive, despite the unexplainable bursts of anger. Always nearby, a boy named Phillip Carlyle - the crownprince of America, who, one day, would take his father’s place as the king. Noah had long made up his mind and decided that he wanted to follow his family’s long line of diplomats and, one day, work by Phillip’s side.  Still, all the support couldn't protect Noah, and it was at the age of fifteen that Noah lost the battle against himself, and ended up in a fist fight with another boy in his class. What mightn't have been a big deal for anyone else was a wake up call for Noah, who no longer wanted to be a slave to his own emotions and the chaos in his mind. At the same time Marisa and Stephen learned that, despite the woman's assumed inability to naturally beget a child, she was once again pregnant - a little girl, Aubrey, who soon enough became Noah's reason to actively better himself and learn the control he so urgently needed. Nearly ten years later and Noah has learned to contain the storm and focus on the peaceful heart of the ocean. Things aren't easier, but Noah is adamant to keep improving - especially now that he isn’t just studying public relations at college, but also spending most of his time at court, step by step taking his father’s place as the crown’s diplomat.
CONNECTIONS:
Regina Scott ( @stormnamed ) – Love Interest – Regina is the duchess of Enfer and Queen-to-be. Noah met her through a mutual friend (his best friend Adrian, who is Regina’s bodyguard) and fell for her fast and hard. Regina is in a relationship with the crownprince of Enfer, so their slowly building romance has to stay a secret.
Phillip Carlyle ( @destinywritten ) – Friend with benefits - Partner in crime – Phillip and Noah grew up together, since Noah’s father has worked for Phillip’s family, as well as his grandfather. Nowadays both Phillip and Noah prepare to take their parent’s place - as the crownprince of America and his diplomat.
Caroline Forbes ( @seesgood ) – Ex-girlfriend - Best Friend - Caroline and Noah used to date, but eventually broke up, even with love evident between them. After figuring out that they work much better as best friends, their relationship grew that much stronger, and nowadays Noah keeps making sure to visit Caroline as often as possible.

Title : HENERAL LUNA
Movie Summary
Spain's 333 years of Philippines colonization ends in 1898. Unwilling to surrender to the Filipinos, Spain sells the archipelago for $20 million.
While the Americans prepare to claim their latest colony, the Filipinos argue amongst themselves, unaware of their country's fate under the Treaty of Paris.
December 1898. In Bulacan, particularly in the Barasoain Church that serves as their hideout, President of the First Philippine Republic, Emilio Aguinaldo , his Prime Minister Apolinario Mabini and his presidential cabinet are debating the issue of the American presence in the Philippines.
Filipino ilustrados Felipe Buencamino and Pedro Paterno argue for an American alliance with Philippines as its protectorate. This angers the military leaders present in the cabinet meeting: General Antonio Luna and General José Alejandrino who want to continue the revolution for Philippines independence. They are wary of the presence of American forces in the country, believing another imperialist nation will simply replace the Spaniards. They are concerned about the latest American orders barring Filipino troops out of the walled city of Intramuros since the mock Battle of Manila in August. Intramuros is the seat of government and power base of the Spaniards in the archipelago.
Luna's military instinct senses something afoot. He asks the Cabinet to authorize a pre-emptive strike against their liberators to take control of Intramuros while the Americans forces have not yet landed their ground troops and the Philippine Revolutionary Army still have the advantage.
Prime Minister Mabini specifically warns the cabinet of the 7,000 additional American reinforcement arriving to fight any insurgencies. The Generals want to strike now, reiterating their soldiers' willingness to sacrifice their lives for their country.
Aguinaldo is swayed by the elitist voices in the cabinet and leans towards continuing American peace and trade discussions and sends Buencamino and Arguelles to meet with them. He assures his cabinet that the Americans promise to help win freedom from their Spanish overlords.
The truth was that months earlier on August 13, 1898, local Spanish and American generals, secretly and jointly planned a land engagement, later known as the Battle of Manila"[12] to transfer control of Intramuros from the Spaniards to the Americans.
Following the surrender of the Spaniards, the Americans turn their attention to keeping General Aguinaldo's men out of Intramuros, an unusual order questioned by the Filipinos who provide support for the Americans. Filipino forces were not able to capture Manila, increasing anti-American sentiments and suspicions that the liberators are our next conquerors.
As it turns out, the peace talks come up empty-handed for the Filipinos. On December 10, 1898, Spain and United States of America sign the Treaty of Paris that ends the Spanish American war. Spain cedes authority of the Philippines to the United States. They turn over Intramuros to the Americans, while American troops begin to engage with Filipino soldiers and seize control of cities like Santa Mesa, San Juan, Paco and Pandacan, showing aggression against any Filipinos resistance. After their fight against the Spaniards, the Filipinos fight another war.
Luna and his trusted comrades – General José Alejandrino, Colonel Francisco “Paco” Román , Captain Eduardo Rusca , Captain José Bernal and Major Manuel Bernal – embark on an arduous campaign against the invading American forces. During an intense battle against American troops led by General Arthur MacArthur Jr. and General Elwell Otis ., Luna asks for reinforcements from the Kawit Battalion but its commander, Captain Pedro Janolino , refuses to comply because the order did not come from President Aguinaldo himself. Luna angrily rides to Janolino's camp, humiliates him in front his men, and dismisses the battalion for insubordination. Luna then assembles an army of 4,000 soldiers by declaring his infamous "Article One", stating that all who refuse to follow his orders shall be executed without the benefit of a trial in a military court. He also recruits Lieutenant García after witnessing his marksmanship skills, and makes him commander of his elite unit of snipers and sharpshooters.
As the new war drags on, Buencamino and Paterno indicate their support of a proposal for Philippine autonomy as the protectorate of the United States. Enraged by this, Luna orders their arrest as traitors to the constitution they swore to uphold. Aguinaldo reluctantly arrests them, especially as Prime Minister Mabini validates Luna has grounds.
Luna's military campaign is undermined by General Tomás Mascardo , who opposes Luna's order for reinforcements, stating that he will only follow the President's direct orders. While the two generals are about to clash in Pampanga, the Americans advance steadily as other Filipino generals like Gregorio del Pilar retreat to the north. Luna visits Aguinaldo and Mabini to file his resignation, knowing that Buencamino and Paterno have been set free. Aguinaldo refuses to accept his resignation, and approves Luna's request to establish the Philippines Military headquarters in the north.
Later, Luna is summoned to the President's headquarters in Cabanatuan. Although his officers are suspicious of the telegram, Luna rides to Cabanatuan, bringing only Román and Rusca with him. Upon arrival, the streets are unusually empty, most of the soldiers had already left the president's headquarters under Aguinaldo's orders, with the exception of some elements of the Kawit Battalion and presidential guards. Luna discovers that Aguinaldo had already left that morning, and only Senator Buencamino remains in the office. As they exchange heated words, a single shot is fired outside. Luna investigates and encounters Captain Janolino and his men, who attack him. Luna is shot, stabbed, and hacked repeatedly to death. Román is also killed while a wounded Rusca surrenders to the Kawit soldiers. Most of Luna's remaining loyal officers are arrested during the purge, while some are tortured and killed, including the Bernal brothers, Heneral Luna's closest aides.
As ordered by Aguinaldo, Luna and Román are buried with full military honors by the Kawit Battalion - the same men who killed them. Mabini, who is among the mourners, notices a bloodied Machete on one of the soldiers; however, the inquest exonerates the Kawit Battalion and Luna's killers are never caught.
After the war, while American newspapers in the Philippines quickly blame Aguinaldo for Luna's death, Aguinaldo denies his involvement on the assassination; calling Antonio Luna as his most brilliant and most capable general. MacArthur and Otis acknowledge Luna as a worthy adversary, laughing at the fact that the Filipinos killed the only real general they had.
In the film's post-credits scene at the end, General Gregorio del Pilar prepares to cover President Aguinaldo's retreat to the north. Del Pilar inspects Luna's remaining men and orders his aide, Colonel Vicente Enríquez to select 60 of them

Being brave and being positive thinker to look forward in your success just like the traits of heneral luna.
2.What part of the story told by the movie was the most powerful? Why?

heneral luna because he did everything to protect his beloved country and continue the revolution for philippine independence through the hands of americans eventhough he had to fight with his own countrymen.
4. Did anything that happen to the movie remind you of something that has occured in your own life or that have seen occur to others?
I also experience betrayal. Even my own friends betrayed me.

For the week of 19 March 2018
Quick Bits:
30 Days of Night #4 gets into the first assault on Barrow from the vampires. It’s bloody and beautifully illustrated by Piotr Kowalski.
| Published by IDW

Avengers #685 is a whole load of fun and despair as a large portion of the US Avengers team (and Lightning, Vision, and Quicksilver) attempt to stave off the assault of the Immortal Hulk. It really feels like we’re headed towards the endgame now and the braintrust of Mark Waid, Jim Zub, and Al Ewing are just churning out an epic. Also, the art from Paco Medina, Juan Velasco, and Jesus Aburtov is gorgeous.

Avengers: Back to Basics #2 concludes the first arc with Iron Man, Hulk, and Thor attempting to stop Fenris and the Disir from bringing about Ragnarok. It’s a fun and action-oriented story from Peter David, with some great humorous moments, and the art from Brian Level (with colours by Jordan Boyd) is pretty much worth the price of the book alone. Great panel compositions and page layouts that greatly help the issue’s story feel meaty.

Big Trouble in Little China: Old Man Jack #7 gets us close to the end, but of course it’s not as easy as rescuing Egg Shen and defeating Ching Dai, there has to be funny misadventures, in-fighting, and heaps of betrayal.

Cable #155 is pretty damn great. It begins the “Past Fears” arc from the new creative team of Zac Thompson, Lonnie Nadler, Germán Peralta, and Jesus Aburtov and leaps headlong into Cable’s past mixing it up with some body horror. Thompson and Nadler have a nice grasp on Cable and Hope’s characters, showing off their heart and stubbornness. Peralta’s art puts the book over the top, though.

Dark Fang #5 brings to an end the first arc of the series, finally giving the lead character a name in-story itself. It’s a bizarre approach to vampires from Miles Gunter, almost like a twisted Disney fairy tale, but it’s entertaining and has some great artwork from Kelsey Shannon.

Death of Love #2 features more wacky hijinks as Philo tells his friends about seeing the little Cherubs/Cupidae and...naturally they don’t believe him. It just gets more absurd from there as Justin Jordan and Donal DeLay push the series into new and more disturbing territory.

Dept. H #24 ends what has been a good series with a nice bit of quiet reflection, Mia reminiscing about her father, her first case, and morality as she struggles upward for that last leg of survival.

Dissonance #2 dives deeper into the machinations of the Fantasmen as they plot and scheme to control humanity. Singgih Nugoro and Ryan Cady are laying it on pretty thick, while making you wonder what all of it is truly for.

Doctor Strange: Damnation #3 is basically an issue’s long fight between the damned Avengers and the Midnight Sons. There’s some nice character bits and humour thrown in. Plus, a seemingly most ineffective plan.
| Published by Marvel

Evolution #5 sees Joe Infurnari and Jordan Boyd step up their game, and the art on the series was already incredible. It seems as we go on, the designs and presentation of the infected just get more and more impressive.

Harrow County #29 returns with the beginning of the end. Emmy is trying to come to terms with her actions in the last arc, while Hester’s return heralds more nightmares to come. Tyler Crook’s artwork is stellar, horrifying and evocative, elevating the terror with each subsequent panel.

Ice Cream Man #3 is weird, trading in the more traditional horror notes of the past couple of issue for absurdist science fantasy, following a washed-up, fading musician who penned a one-hit wonder as he fades into obscurity. W. Maxwell Prince’s story gets pretty strange, but it allows for Martín Morazzo to really flex his muscles.

Infinity 8 #1 begins adapting in English and North America’s standard comics format the Infinity 8 series that was previously published by Rue de Sèvres, created by Lewis Trondheim and Olivier Vatine. Part of the pitch for the book is an 8-part series each containing three issue arcs. The 8 parts certainly play into the structure of the story as each part will be done by a different creative team, and focus on a recursive time loop of agents exploring a debris field.
This first arc, written by Lewis Trondheim and Zep with art by Dominique Bertail, focuses on Agent Yoko Keren, a woman looking for a compatible mate among the ship’s crew so she can get pregnant and basically retire better off than she is currently. She gets to be the first guinea pig for the Captain’s time loop exploration of the debris, and it gets a bit weird when some of the ship’s complement of aliens decide that eating it is of the utmost importance. This story is weird sci-fi in the vein of Heavy Metal, but to me the draw is Bertail’s art. I’ve really been enjoying Bertail’s art in Ghost Money and he proves equally adept with wacky space stuff.

Iron Fist #78 jumps head first into Danny’s unresolved issues in what’s probably the best Damnation tie-in thus far. Ed Brisson uses the chaos of the event and the trigger of the penance stare to dredge up Danny’s feelings and reactions to what he considers his loss and failures, giving some really deep cuts into continuity in an organic, natural fashion. The art from Damian Couceiro and Andy Troy is also up to the heavy lifting. The layouts and panel designs at the beginning of the book as Danny navigates the surreal landscape of his memories and fears are particularly impressive.

James Bond: The Body #3 has some great art by Rapha Lobosco, in the first of two series that have his work this week. His art is in a similar style to Eduardo Risso and it lends itself well to this dark tale of neo-Nazi arms dealers from Aleš Kot.

Kick-Ass #2 asks some important questions as Patience backslides into justifications for her criminal behaviour. Mark Millar steps up the moral quandary from just the vigilantism of the original Kick-Ass, even as she later protects a child from an abusive father figure.

Lucy Dreaming #1 is fun. For starters, it’s nice to see Michael Dialynas again on another sci-fi/fantasy series after The Woods, even if it is just a limited series. His art naturally lends itself to the fantastical and it pays off in spades in this first issue, with nice designs for aliens, starships, and more. It’s also great that Max Bemis is bringing more of that weirdness and altered realities from his works like Centipede here. I’m really looking forward to seeing where this goes from here.

The Mighty Thor #705 will break your heart. Epic storytelling and gorgeous art. Jason Aaron, Russell Dauterman, and Matthew Wilson should be proud.

Ninja-K #5 brings the battle to the Acclimation Bureau and sparks off a deadly confrontation between Ninja-C and Ninjak. Christos Gage and Tomás Giorello bring this first arc to a stylish conclusion.

Pathfinder: Spiral of Bones #1 brings the adventuring party back for a new expedition, this time far beneath Kaer Maga, the City of Strangers. Crystal Frasier is a new voice to the Pathfinder comics, but old hat to the roleplaying game, so she slides in nicely to the writer’s chair here. There’s a good amount of set-up and humorous banter as the Iconic character Imrijka is introduced in the comic as an old friend of Valeros.

Punks Not Dead #2 gets into more of Fergie’s ordinary life and the supporting cast of characters at his school and beyond. David Barnett fleshes them out fairly well, setting up some interesting hooks for what might be coming next. Combined with Martin Simmonds artwork, this series really is a must buy for anyone who enjoyed the British supernatural flavour of mid to late ‘90s Vertigo or the later series Vinyl Underground.

Regression #8 sees Adrian explore the nature of the cult and their grounds a bit more, although there is a weird bit in that he’s seemingly all right with the past lives, the demons, the cult itself and such, but apparently an orgy is a bridge too far. Death, murder, and demons are copacetic, but as soon as sex is introduced, Adrian wants to bug out. I’m hoping that Cullen Bunn does more with that theme in a future issue.

Rumble #4 mainly deals with the fallout from Bobby’s injuries, with John Arcudi penning a growing divide between Rathraq and Del. David Rubín’s art perfectly capturing the insanity and the heart of the entire situation.

Runaways #7 begins the “Best Friends Forever” arc with the team trying to adjust to their new status quo and “normal” life. Rainbow Rowell is great at these kinds of interpersonal relationships and it makes for an entertaining read.

The Spider King #2 is more glorious madness blending Vikings and bizarre alien technology. The artwork from Simone D’Armini just fits this action perfectly.

Summit #4 concludes the first story arc, with Val coming to the realization of Lorena’s motivations and Foresight’s shadiness that readers of the broader Catalyst Prime line already know. It comes a bit suddenly after a moment of misdirection, but it makes more story sense to get Val back to her friends at the MIT labs.

Tales of Suspense #103 is that issue that tells us exactly what has been going on with Black Widow while Hawkeye and Winter Soldier have been running around chasing after her body count. It’s kind of dark and has some fairly complicated potential Alien Resurrection style implications. Matthew Rosenberg still throws in some humour with Ursa Major, but this one’s really an opportunity for Travel Foreman to showcase some of the darker end of his skill set.

TMNT Universe #20 continues the excellent “Service Animals” arc from Ian Flynn, Dave Wachter, and Ronda Pattison that’s getting to the core of what Null has been doing, and providing an interesting, humanizing look at Raphael and Alopex. The art from Wachter and Pattison is wonderful. There’s also a great back-up from Matthew K. Manning, Adam Gorham, and Brittany Peer that tells a humorous and heartfelt tale of Raph trying to get some sleep.

Usagi Yojimbo: The Hidden #1 is the first of the series to follow the series of series format Dark Horse tends to use for Mike Mignola’s Hellboy universe. Regardless of the approach, this still has the same great Stan Sakai taste. Ostensibly we’re dealing with some fugitives, and a secret package, being tracked down by agents of the shogunate, but we’re light on details so far and high on mystery.

Vampirella #11 is the second of the books illustrated by Rapha Lobosco this week as he and Jeremy Whitley bring this current volume to a close. This issue serves as a recap of Vicki’s adventures with Vampirella as she comes to a new understanding of herself, opening up to find a solution for the fake heaven and missing God problem.

Weapon H #1 is probably better than any one would have thought as ridiculous a concept as a Hulkverine would be. Spinning out of the “Weapons of Mutant Destruction” crossover and subsequent Weapon X follow-up arc, this series follows Clay, a former soldier and test subject for some mad science experiments blending Hulk and Wolverine DNA. Greg Pak blends those two aspects in the story itself, taking elements from both the Hulk and Wolverine legacy, and wisely begins this with a new take on the tale that introduced Wolverine to the world in the pages of Incredible Hulk with a new Wendigo. The art from Cory Smith, Marcus To, and Morry Hollowell sticks the landing.

Witchblade #4 continues the trend of being another great issue of this series. Caitlin Kittredge is beginning to get into the meat of the lore behind the Witchblade and the thirteen Artifacts, tying the reboot in to the mythology of the original Witchblade/Darkness universe, while also fleshing out more and more of Alex’s backstory. The art, again, by Roberta Ingranata and Bryan Valenza is some of the most beautiful on the shelves today.
