i think both brothers are his stepbrothers, including the one who played hockey (link) as vince was quoted saying the following here (there's a paywall but i screenshotted the important bit):
Tumblr media
vince's legal last name is actually hyphenated (it's not paylor-dunn it's another name) - paylor is his mom's last name, dunn is his stepdad's last name (source)

the house was transferred to him from an LLC that is connected to Pitchbook, which is a private equity firm that is an arena partner & suite-level sponsor of CPA

Post Post
“Post Post is an indie rock band comprised of four college juniors who met and formed at Bryn Mawr College, an all-women's liberal arts college outside Philadelphia (they wouldn't let Kevin in, he had to go to Haverford instead). The group uses synth and a tight rhythm section to compliment singer/guitarist Michelle Zauner (formerly of Little Girl, Big Spoon), creating a sound that falls somewhere within the realm of earnest, melodic indie pop meets post-riot grrrl era rock meets synth-ridden new wave. The songs are intense, building momentum but rarely boiling over. Barely one year old, they've already earned opening spots for bands like Vivian Girls, Neon Indian, Rachael Cantu, Real Estate, Toro y Moi, Free Energy, the Big Pink, and Beach House.”

Fluffy prompts!! 3 for Rulie?
When the band decided it would be cheaper for them all to rent as house together instead of getting their own separate apartments, none of them knew what chaos was in store for them.
Julie was just thankful that there was more than one bathroom, because sharing with three guys (because of course Willie was living with them, there was no question about that) was not something she was prepared to do.
They all had bits and pieces to make a home, and their families helped out where they could, meaning that nothing matched, but everything was comfy and it made it feel more like a home than a place to live, so no one complained.
Except during movie night when they all fought for prime real estate on the lumpy leather couch that Luke found. Alex usually won, given his taller lanky frame, but that just meant she could either have the oversized arm chair that her dad gave her or snuggled with Reggie on the loveseat if Luke claimed the chair first.
Reggie was a supremely good cuddler, even if she didn't miss the way he blushed when they snuggled, or the looks the other guys shared when they did.
Look, Julie liked Reggie, and she wouldn't mind taking it further than a few innocent cuddles, but they were in a band together, paying rent together, and were the closest of friends. She wasn't sure she could risk it all on a chance, no matter how much she wanted to kiss his stupid mouth.
But then she saw Alex and Willie being so stupidly cute together, the weird love hate thing that Flynn and Carrie had going on, and Luke's admittedly sweet if perplexing on again off again thing with Bobby, and she wanted that. She wanted that with Reggie, and decided that if the opportunity came up, she was gonna make a move.
It all came to a head one movie night, and Julie lucked into the chair, grabbing the soft knitted blanket that Reggie's MeeMaw made to snuggle under. It was her favourite, and she usually laid claim to it on these nights, regardless where she was sitting.
Reggie came into the living room, holding aloft a giant bowl of popcorn and looked a little forlornly at Luke sprawled out over the loveseat. Then at Julie and he snickered. “How come you always end up under my blanket?”
"It's comfy," she replied, pulling it tighter around her.
"But now I have nowhere to sit and no blanket," he said with an overexaggerated pout.
"You could always squeeze into the chair with Jules," Luke said with a shit eating grin. "I'm sure she'd share."
"Or you could move over," Reggie hissed, but the blush climbing the back of his neck betrayed him.
"It's okay Reg, we can share," Julie said, getting up and offering the chair to him. "I give better cuddles than Luke anyways."
"Hey!" Luke portested, but Julie just stuck her tongue out at him.
Reggie sat on the chair, trying his best to leave Julie room to sit but huffed out a breath when she plopped down on his lap, wrapping them both in the patterned wool blanket. "Comfy?' she asked.
"Very," he choked out, then tossed a kernel of popcorn at Alex, urging him to start the movie. Hoping and praying they were watching something action adventure-y and not a sweeping romance tonight. He blew out a breath as The Shape of Water started. He could handle Del Toro, and he knew Julie loved this movie too.
Only he forgot that the movie practically opened with some more adult content and he struggled not to squirm at the images, burying his face in Julie's curls to avoid blushing to the roots of his hair.
"You okay?" Julie whispered.
"Fine."
The movie played on, and Julie snuggled further into Reggie's hold, sighing at the more romantic moments. Shivering a little when Reggie's nose nuzzled against the skin behind her ear, his breath hitting her neck. "It's sweet huh? Despite the whole fish monster thing."
"It is," Julie muttered back. "Falling in love despite appearances, despite not sharing a language. Just seeing each other and falling for each other even when everything seems against you. I want that."
"With a fish monster?" Reggie joked.
"I'd settle for the cute bassist holding me," Julie replied, turning her eyes to him.
"Oh," he said softly.
"Unless you don't want to?" she asked.
Reggie's response was to pull her into a sweet kiss worthy of any Hollywood romance. It tasted of popcorn and the root beer floats they had been drinking, of Reggie's cherry chapstick mixing with her own mango one.
"About frigging time!" Luke whooped, and the couple broke apart, blushing furiously and smiling despite themselves.
"No PDA during movie night," Alex teased as he tossed some popcorn at them, mocking the rule they had all agreed to when they all first moved in.
Reggie flipped Alex off and pulled the blanket over their heads, giving Julie loud smacking kisses to her giggling lips.
They did stop after a few moments to settle further into each other's embrace and finish the movie, trading a few small kisses, no matter what Alex said, because he was smiling too much to know he didn't really mind.
And in a few months when Reggie moved into Julie's room? The knitted blanket that brought them together lived on the foot of their bed.

Reptile (dir. Grant Singer).
Netflix's hard-boiled detective crime thriller starring and co-written by Benicio del Toro revolves around a slippery murder conspiracy featuring an Excess Baggage reunion with Alicia Silverstone, plenty of suspicious cops, and Justin Timberlake as a shady as hell real estate agent. Despite its obvious genre tropes about police corruption and bad people, del Toro's committed and grounded performance elevates the film's measured take on its criminal element.

Reptile Movie (Review) and Film Summary
Benicio Del Toro slinks and weaves through Grant Singer’s debut thriller “Reptile,” but the film struggles to develop a confident personality around him, ultimately coming apart at the seams. Clearly inspired by David Fincher’s meticulousness—Singer too is a music video vet and has worked with The Weeknd, Skrillex, Sam Smith, and many more—“Reptile” is overly mannered and precious with its details, but its biggest misstep is its failure to understand that procedurals need to get narratively tighter and not just more convoluted. Del Toro always brings it, and this is actually one of his more intriguing performances in a long time, but one consistently wishes that it was in a movie that knew what to do with it.
Tumblr media
Will Grady (Justin Timberlake) is a Scarborough real estate mogul dating an agent named Summer (Matilda Lutz). They flip foreclosures on expensive homes in the area under the watchful eye of Will’s mom, Camille (Frances Fisher), and there seems to be some brewing tension in the relationship. One day, Will meets Summer at a house she’s showing and finds her brutally murdered.
The suspects line up quickly for Detective Tom Nichols (Del Toro) and his partner Dan Cleary (Ato Essandoh). First, Grady couldn’t be creepier—Timberlake leans way too hard into the slimy silver spoon kid background of the kind of dude who lines up a new girlfriend who looks a lot like his dead one almost immediately. Will is clearly into some shady shit, but he found the body, right? Or did he? Could it be Summer’s soon-to-be ex-husband Sam (Karl Glusman)? He, too, is sketched as a few cards short of a full deck, introduced on CCTV footage cutting a stranger’s hair so he can turn it into art. Yeah, he’s weird. That’s not it! The cavalcade of creeps on the suspect list also includes Eli Phillips (Michael Pitt), a guy whose dad got screwed on a Grady deal. Did he kill Summer to get revenge?
As if that trio of potential murderers isn’t enough, the script by Singer, Benjamin Brewer, and Del Toro himself fills out a massive cast with the people in Tom’s orbit, including his wife Judy (an effective Alicia Silverstone), who helps him work angles on the case in some of the film’s best scenes. She’s fearless and intellectually engaged in discussing the mystery. She knows and loves Captain Robert Allen (Eric Bogosian), Tom’s boss, who is introduced receiving an MS diagnosis. Yes, this is one of those scripts where everyone has an instantly identifiable trait that tries to take a traditional character just a bit left of center. It's all over-written, exaggerated stuff that only reminds you that you’re in a movie.
Of course, it’s perfectly fine to be aware of a writer's voice and director’s eye—no one would say someone like Fincher quietly observes—but the problems of “Reptile” comes down to style vs. vision. There’s plenty of style here, but it never feels like anything coheres into an actual vision. The great Mike Gioulakis (“It Follows,” “Split”) slides his camera through these imposing spaces, but to what end? Does it mean anything? The abundant style of “Reptile” is increasingly hollow as its overlong 134 minutes unfold. "Reptile" tries to hold onto too many things at once and lands none of them, leaving subplots unresolved and characters inconsistent.
And yet, there’s that performance in the center. Del Toro is so good here, capturing a man who has seen it all and just wants a peace that won’t come. He doesn’t overplay trauma or experience; he just allows those elements to influence his body language and the stares from those unforgettable eyes. It’s also a playful performance at times as Tom uses elements of his journey into real estate to influence his home remodel. There are some decent turns in the ensemble—Silverstone, Bogosian, Pitt—but Del Toro is on another level, existing in his own space. A space that belongs in a much better movie.

Reptile Review - Moody, Slow, and Spooky
One death, multiple suspects and very few clues. Police officer Tom Nichols might have to go beyond his call of duty to unmask the killer of his latest case. Read our review of 2023 thriller "Reptile" starring Benicio Del Toro.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 3.5 out of 5. Sneha Jaiswal (Twitter | Instagram) Despite its slow, languid pace, the 2023 thriller “Reptile” might spook viewers more than the average horror movie. Directed by Grant Singer, who co-wrote the story with Benjamin Brewer and Benicio Del Toro, “Reptile” is a tense, broody psychological crime caper with a gruesome death at the center of it. Day 1 of EnHoEn Shark Week
Putting the contents of the fic below the cut. No sharks in this one, but I hit Aquariums and "What are you" @enhoenbigbang
Tumblr media
Enji Todoroki didn’t want a pet. Everyone knew that. He was a busy hero and barely had time to take care of his family let alone another living thing. But, when Touya brought home a fish he’d won at the summer festival (a festival Enji hadn’t been able to go to because he was working to keep the city safe) he couldn’t exactly say ‘no’.
This was, of course, how Enji wound up getting a twenty gallon aquarium, then reading about goldfish and realizing this was far too small a tank. So the little fish—named Killer or Princess Sparkle Bubblegum depending on which of his two children was asked—was upgraded to a 125 gallon palace. It was a bit large for the current size, but Enji was sure he’d grow into it. The extra space meant room for more plants, which provided more surface area for nitrifying bacteria in addition to the plants’ own nitrogen sequestering potential and …Fine! Enji’d gone down the fish care rabbit hole. He wasn’t just going to let the poor thing die!
In the end, Enji Todoroki became very knowledgeable about fish care and aquaculture entirely against his will. He was, unfortunately, not entirely knowledgeable about fish. It was unusual but not unheard of for fish to change color, so the splotches of red didn’t phase him because they clearly weren’t blood. The fins became longer but they didn’t get torn or ratty looking and he just figured his little fish was growing.
It was years later that the goldfish, which had transformed into a koi fish like creature and moved into the garden pond, along with several other koi to keep it company, finally revealed its true nature. It was a sweltering summer night, ten years precisely since Touya had brought home the fish, and Enji was alone. Rei had been deemed well and left the hospital. The ensuing divorce was amicable.
Only Fuyumi protested moving to the new estate built for Rei and the children. Shouto had silently packed his bags while staring Enji down. Natsuo chewed him out if he dared show his face while they were packing. Touya had left ‘parting gifts’—fire extinguishing hero support devices—around the house.
Enji had just been on the receiving end of one and was still shivering. He was glad Touya wasn’t injuring himself training to be a hero and had found his joy in the UA support course … but he would have preferred his son have hobbies less hazardous to his blood pressure.
Which was how he found himself sitting at the edge of his pond, alone with his fish and his thoughts, practicing deep breathing exercises to calm himself down and warm himself up. It worked.
Then something cold and wet splashed against his bare foot.
Enji yelled and fell backwards off the bench. Something had splashed water on him. He scrambled back up to see a blond man leaning on the edge of his pond. What the hell was a man—a naked man—doing in his koi pond!?
“Who—”
“Finally! I thought you’d never notice me,” the man chirped before slipping underwater and flipping around to haul his entire toro out and spit more water at Enji. Red scales glittered like rubies along the length of the muscular tail, rising up and up to cover the man’s hips and—oh.
Oh!
There was a merman in his koi pond.
“How did you get here?” Enji had no idea if this was some pervert with a quirk or if he somehow had angered the spirits and was about to be smited. Smote? Smoten? Was that even a word?
“You, you big fool.” The man hauled himself entirely out of the pond. “Your son saved me from the baggie. But then you took care of me.”
“Well, fish are more of a responsibility than most children are prepared for.”
“You didn’t have to,” the merman purred.
“I couldn’t let you die.” Enji inched back as the merman—holy shit it was a real merman—slithered towards him. Was he about to be eaten?
“As a merman, I owe you my life. Let me repay you.”
Enji swallowed a yelp as a cold damp hand gripped his ankle. “I-I don’t even know your name!” He stalled for time.
“Call me Hawks. Though I did like your daughter calling me princess.”
“I…” Enji tried to think. What usually happened in stories about yokai? He couldn’t refuse without being rude. But if he accepted the offer it would probably get twisted and held against him.
The merman—Hawks—crawled up his legs and twisted his soaking wet tail around him. “What can I do for you? My hero…”
Enji wanted to say ‘don’t eat me’ but that could get turned against him. “There’s nothing I need…”
“Fine then,” Hawks flicked his tail to smack against the ground, “Is there anything you want? Anything you wish for?”
His damned mouth went ahead of his brain, “Just … a friend. I don’t want to be alone.”
Hawks’ smile was bright as the sun, “Granted. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”

Reptile (2023)
Following the brutal murder of a young real estate agent, a hardened detective attempts to uncover the truth in a case where nothing is as it seems, and, by doing so, dismantles the illusions in his own life.
Tumblr media
Warning: Review may contain spoilers. Read at your own risk.
JayBell: I've been watching way too much true crime lately, which I think is partly what encouraged this week's movie choice. But I do love a good mystery movie.
The technical aspects of the movie I enjoyed, like the cinematography and such. It helps establish tone and thematic elements of the story. The acting is fine, nothing super impressive but also nothing super terrible or noteworthy.
I was under the impression this was gonna be a more straightforward murder mystery/whodunnit kind of thing, so I was disappointed it turned into this convoluted conspiracy. What can I say, inside corruption just isn't as interesting to me as plain ol' murder. Plus, the way the conspiracy untangles isn't that clean and there are some definite missing pieces.
Also, the decisions of Del Toro's character in the end perplexes me. He uncovers this conspiracy and decides to confide in one singular superior officer? This is right before he meets up with the suspects. Like wouldn't you set up some kind of sting situation with the FBI before meeting them? He already knew they were guilty and he wasn't gonna cover it up for them, so why "hear them out" or whatever he was planning on doing? And where is the young partner that we've been hanging out with this whole movie?
All in all, it kept my interest, but only enough to be let down in the end.
Rating: 5/10 cats 🐈

Anzie: I have to say this is one movie I himhawed about watching. I kept thinking we all know the bf/husband did it and it Justin Timberlake and he’s old now (and Alicia Silverstone’s old toooo) (and little did I know the boss guy from Law & Order: CI would be old) and I would eventually talk myself out of watching it bc I didn’t have the bandwidth for all that. I mean like I said we always know it’s the bf or husband - what was missing from my life?? The shocking reminder that JT is now an oldish man?? Anyways I like usual I was very wrong. At time it did feel a little slow, but in the end - IT WAS GOOD!!!
Ok first I’m not going to try explaining the plot bc 1. It’s better experienced, but also 2. My two brain cells and me could NEVER!!! (And while it’s not like Uber complicated, it was enough that my even my brain while on Benadryl for an allergic reaction could follow, and that’s no easy task. And while I see Jaybell’s corruption point- I enjoyed the plot for the sake that it’s trying to show the growth of a dirty cop in the middle of a serious corruption deal in his new department, and one involving a sick family member.)
But it’s so good bc you can keep guessing the entire time, which at sometimes, mainly the middle of the movie became a tad annoying. But we had no trust in anyone at all the whole time!!! We thought the bf, then the husband, then the detective himself - at one point we even thought it was foreman redoing the detective’s house bc why not?? We did start piecing things together but it’s so impossible to get every piece bc the level of mistrust and sneaking but not in a way that’s upright??? Gawdddd I was so shocked, but not bc of who was involved but just how everything messily unfolded.
I spent a lot of the movie trying to figure out why the movie was called Reptile and the detectives obsession with a kitchen sink- and I lovvvvve it and it to is one of those things with how it eats at you the entire time- but the payoff for realizing is 1000000% worth it. And I’m a real sucker for little hidden meanings like that when it feels kinda redundant until all is revealed.
In the famous words of Owen Wilson, my overall reaction is “Wow.” End scene. * still wondering what all the therapy/mom talk was about though and how he took her name but doesn’t remember her?? Idk. I’m sure it means something.

Navigating the Tropical Dream: A Guide to Buying a House in Panama
In recent years, Panama has emerged as an enticing destination for those seeking not just a change of scenery, but a lifestyle upgrade. The allure of pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and a thriving expat community has led many to consider buying a house in Panama. However, like any significant investment, navigating the real estate market in a foreign country requires careful consideration and a well-informed approach.
Understanding the Market:
Panama's real estate market is as diverse as its landscape. From bustling urban condos in Panama City to tranquil beachfront properties along the Pacific and Caribbean coasts, there's a property to suit every taste. Before diving in, prospective buyers should take the time to research the different regions, each offering unique advantages.
Panama City, the country's capital, is a hub of commerce and culture. Its real estate market boasts modern high-rises and historic Casco Viejo properties, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a vibrant city lifestyle. On the other hand, coastal areas like Bocas del Toro and Coronado offer a more relaxed atmosphere, with options ranging from beachfront villas to tropical retreats nestled in the rainforest.
Navigating Legalities:
Buying real estate in Panama involves understanding the legal nuances of the country. One key advantage for foreign buyers is the absence of restrictions on property ownership. Unlike some countries, Panama welcomes international investors, making the process relatively straightforward.
Engaging the services of a reputable local lawyer is crucial in navigating the legal landscape. They can assist with due diligence, title searches, and ensure all necessary permits are obtained. Additionally, it's recommended to work with a licensed real estate agent who is well-versed in the local market and can provide valuable insights.
Financing Options:
Securing financing for a property purchase in Panama is an option for both locals and foreigners. Local banks and international lenders offer mortgage options, but it's essential to understand the terms and conditions. Interest rates, repayment periods, and eligibility criteria may vary, so consulting with financial experts is advisable to make an informed decision.
Hidden Costs and Fees:
Beyond the property's listed price, Buying A House in Panama for Expat should be aware of additional costs and fees associated with the purchase. These may include transfer taxes, registration fees, and legal expenses. Factoring in these costs from the beginning can prevent unexpected financial burdens down the line.
Residency Options:
For those considering a more permanent move to Panama, exploring residency options is a wise step. Panama offers various visa programs, including the Pensionado Visa for retirees and the Friendly Nations Visa for citizens of specific countries. These programs not only facilitate the relocation process but also come with additional perks, such as tax incentives.

Bromance in Ronda, Andalusia.
Ernest Hemingway was passionately enthusiastic about bullfighting
Tumblr media
In his first novel, The Sun Also Rises (1926), a bunch of friends got bored with Paris and took off to Pamplona for the Corrida de los Toros. His writing about their lives and drinking and squabbles is a window into a long-lost world but, when he describes the bullfights, his prose turns incendiary. You are there; bound up in the spectacle, the pageantry, the skill of the matador, the danger; you hear, see, and smell the sweat, the dust, and the blood; you understand the excitement from a real aficionado; you want to be there to see the danger and the slaughter.
Hemingway took the name for the bullfighter character, Pedro Romero, from a legendary 18th century bullfighter, he took his description of the man from Cayetano Ordóñez who was the rock-star matador of the 1920s, and, when he moved to Spain, he became close friends with Ordóñez’s son, Antonio Jiménez Ordóñez who was then the most renowned matador in the 1950s and 1960s.
All these men came from Ronda which is home to the oldest bullring in Spain.
The two Ordóñez - father and son - killed over 6,000 bulls in their two careers.
Another American macho, Orson Welles, also developed a passion for Spain that led him to Ronda. He first visited Seville when he was 17 and fell for la Corrida. When Hemingway was producing a 1937 film in support of the Spanish Republic, The Spanish Earth, he asked Orson Welles to be the voice of the film and Welles made a number of his movies in Spain. Along with Hemingway he spent more and more time in Ronda; enjoying the bullfights and hanging out with Antonio Ordóñez.
Hemingway took his own life in Idaho in 1961 but left behind a manuscript for The Dangerous Summer - a non-fiction book about the rivalry between his old friend Ordóñez and another competing matador of the day - that was published posthumously. His first and last books about bullfighting.
