I have Arcane photos! (And thoughts!)

Ok so as far as I know all these are legit for the Annecy festival where they might drop some more s2 hints on 6/12 (personally I don’t think any trailers are coming until Sept/Oct like they did for S1 but that’s my thoughts on that) moving on,

First photo,

Clearly on the outside of the building, Vi looks similar to one of the generic poses she was holding in s1 posters so I don’t have much to say on her. Caitlyn on the other hand looks outright pissed, which I don’t blame her considering I’m one of the people convinced Cassandra’s biting the dust due to Fishbones, ngl I think they’re also using one of Ekko’s frames from ep 7 fighting Jinx so I don’t have much to say on him either as for Jinx it’s hard to tell where her eyeline is directly hitting I think it’s just generically at the three of them and of course her eyes still gleaming with Shimmer.

Next,

This one shows more of our Topsider friends, you can make out Victor, Ekko again, Sevika’s right next to him (you can tell by the nose and snarl on her lips) I think that may be Cait popping up again but I wasn’t sure cause Cait doesn’t really wear lipstick, Heimerdinger right next to them with his usual panicked expression, and in the lower right hand corner you can just make out Mel which means we’re probably seeing her post Fishbones (yay for Not-So-Average-Fangirl the ❤️Art❤️ has survived. Srry I just thought that was funny) Anyway, I don’t see Jayce here but he’s one of the few that I said is absolutely surviving into S2 mostly cuz I don’t think they could go on without wonder boy.

And lastly (for now),

This is clearly supposed to foil the S1 poster with young Vi and Powder where a scared Powder was looking directly at the audience. And, while Vi’s embrace of Powder was protective, this doesn’t hold that same merit to me at least. And this may just be me but Jinx’s eyebags look Significantly darker than episode 9 sooo yea she’s not doing better and Vi looks outright terrified (not that I blame her, honestly) and it looks like she’s just kinda starting off while Jinx has remained looking at the audience.

(Yea so I don’t have more unfortunately but as soon as I do you know I’ll be frantically posting it. Also my autocorrect keeps trying to put Ekko as Elmo and it’s really annoying 🤬)

THE WAY ITS THE OPPOSITE OF THE FIRST ONE-

The tone change is actually crazy. Jinx’s corrupted eye staring at the fourth wall. The subtle things. the way Jinx is holding vi with both hands instead of just one. The fact that Vi is clearly looking off at the distance, at something (someone?) that she’s afraid for, whereas Powder is afraid for herself. The way Jinx’s hand is threading through Vi’s hair. It’s eerie because of the way the last season ended. Vi still cares for Powder, but Powder is gone, and now Jinx is literally holding her captive.

I’m so hyped for november

i’m begging riot to make jinx irredeemable in arcane season two.

i want batshit insane jinx. a jinx even singed is afraid of. i want jinx who locks vi in a cage because she’s my sister she’s my sister she’s not your sister she’s my sister and when vi begs her to leave she explodes because why does my sister not love me and goes on a rampage and kills everyone vi loves most so that maybe vi will “love her again,” unable to see that vi already does — or maybe she can see but doesn’t want to because all of this violent vengeance just feels too good to give up. silco’s voice in her head whispers that vi doesn’t really care; you are alone now and jinx begins to believe him, and in the end she realizes that the only way to get rid of her last lingering demon is to slay it.

The parallel between the first and second posters is so insane. In the first poster we see a young Vi holding a young Jinx in her arms try to comfort and protect her from the world's harshness. But Jinx is too big for Vi to completely hide her face away from the light of the world. Yet the light itself doesn't feel sinister and Jinx looks at it and us in wonder.

While the next poster is nearly completely opposite in mood. Instead of a deep bear hug where Vi's warm red tones in color attempt envelope Jinx in comfort, Jinx and the cool tones in her hair, nails, and even skin are caging Vi in place. There is no illusion of comfort, in fact there's not even an attempt, because we see Jinx's face, a harsh and almost knowing grimace at what she's doing.

Jinx is forcing Vi to see the world as she did when she was younger. But instead of the curiosity and wonder at the world in its light, Vi is horrified of it, of us. This light is bringing Vi to tears, and that's how we know instead of embrace it like Jinx did, Vi will thrash against it.
