specifically thinking about missa not quite as close to "roier" today.

When he says "something's wrong with him" he says it like hes being Mean to me!! but he's not as suspicious of the things 'roier' does as he is of what he doesn't do. The pig bit specifically is reminiscent of the first day where he asks roier/'mama' childishly if he could have a cat, to which roier plays into (no puedes 😡), except 'roier' doesn't seem to have the patience to be playing around with him and rivers about it, giving them the cage trap directly instead. The cobblestone wall and the furnace as well, it's a harmless joke (it's. 9 blocks of cobble stone) and I'm almost certain it wouldn't even have gotten as bad if missa hadn't turned to cellbit and complained about how Weird he's being

He says it might just be a bad day but Missa's SEEN roier on a bad day. some of the worst days roier has on the server even. The day of spreen and quackity's betrayal (and his self-eviction), the short while right after bobby's death with cellbit missing as well

He also knows roier's really fond of. Just fucking around with his voice, playing up fake people, saying hanging out with him is like being with 47 bastards, so a new voice joining the mix wouldn't be out of the ordinary if he didn't have a feeling about it

roier's been similarly mean to chayanne and tallulah before (your father left to buy coke) he's been loud and irritable and rude and Missa doesn't mind because this is Roier

but this stream he's corraling them away. saying leave them alone (albeit jokingly), falling behind with rivers when he could catch up with cellbit and roier, taking the oidsaside to explaining roier's strange behavior as 'just part of his personality' sure but missa recognizes when the anger is a joke or not, god knows he's said and done worse to roier before

The infamous depression chase scene comes to mind, being chased down by multiple people including chayanne and tallulah and it's Only when roier finds him that he calms down enough to stop and explain

for all his anger and resentment and threats, missa knows and loves and trusts roier with his life

missa doesn't feel like he can turn his back around this roier

In Reaching Out where Luz is explaining about her dad. Claiming it’s not an issue anymore, trying to downplay her feelings and framing herself as being completely irrational in how she acted, because it being the anniversary of her dad’s death is ‘not an excuse’ and ‘happened a while ago’. How certain she is of this, and how she tries to smile about it as if it was just something small from a long time ago that silly silly her let get to her.

And then she looks over and sees Amity’s face. Amity is shocked. She’s concerned and saddened for Luz, who never made any implication prior of how she had been hurting over this.

And the way Luz reacts.. suddenly going quiet and unable to finish her quip, seeing Amity’s shock. It’s a reminder that no, this isn’t just a small thing. It’s her realizing that outside looking in… no, it’s not just something that happened ‘a while ago’.

Luz can’t laugh and distract her way out of this one; right in front of her face she sees the reality of this trauma from someone hearing it for the first time. That it is in fact a terribly painful thing she went through. How long do you think Luz had convinced herself that she needs to just move on and get over her grief? Luz who always wants to never burden anyone? How long since someone besides her mother had affirmed her for grieving this loss years and years later? Or genuinely cared at all? Her principal chose to assume Luz was ‘acting out’ out of grief, but nobody tried to even help her. They just tried to stop the behaviors she was doing

This moment literally drives me insane.. it’s so brief but it says so much in it. Over and over again Luz internalizes and downplays her feelings because she’s so certain that she needs to keep them to herself. Over and over and over. This poor kid AAAUGHHHHHHH
