We need some Tetra and Pricilla content. (Hurry up PTN and give more) I bet they love to roleplay. Pretending to be caught and seducing their way out of being caught. But Tetra is so smitten for Pricilla. Pricilla rides and grinds on Tetra's cock, making it a competition of who cums first is the loser, and Tetra pretty much loses all the time.
Tetra and Pricilla are literally one of the original non-canon but totally canon gay couples in PTN (besides McQueen & Lisa). The dynamic of the Phantom Robbers is so great, like Pricilla is over here being a rambunctious, mischievous bunny, and Tetra is here being a good little fox following her around.
A joke me and my friends came up with a while ago is that if they were playing volleyball and on different teams, Pricilla is the one purposefully hitting Tetra in the face with the volleyball, but the fox doesn't care because she's too distracted by how good her girl looks in those short shorts. Tetra is the type of girlfriend like; "My girlfriend can punch me in the face, and I'd thank her."
Anyway, for NSFW thoughts;
I totally agree with these two being into roleplay, especially Pricilla! Tetra seems to be the type to be down for anything and into whatever her girl is into. Pricilla wants to tie her up and roleplay an interrogation? Tetra is already in position, ready and waiting.
Tetra is the definition of a smitten girlfriend, looking at Pricilla like she's the most precious valuable that she'd love to steal over and over again. And by god she loves to sit back on the bed, hands tied to the headboard as she watches Pricilla ride her cock like an eager bunny (which she is).
Pricilla's goal is to get Tetra to cum in her before she cums herself, so she's moving fast, like a bunny in heat, while purposefully squeezing her pussy around her cock. The poor fox tries so so hard to hold back, to prove that she can, but girl is throwing her head back and shooting ropes of her cum into the girl.
Tetra loses once again, meaning she's the one who has to be tied to a chair and forced to watch Pricilla have sex with you (and she really isn't complaining).

I haunt this inn not because it is a gathering place for the dead, but because it is a gathering place for the living. And that first part is not unimportant— I’m quite grateful, actually, for how kind and welcoming the staff has always been to us ghosts. It’s why I came here in the first place. But it’s not why I’ve stayed.
It’s become a terrible habit, I know, the way I fall in love with the living from time to time. They can’t even see me. But can you blame me? They shine so brightly, some of them especially so, and I am like a moth drawn to a flame. A creature of shadow who simply can’t resist a glimpse of the light.
That’s what they call him. Lightning. Lightning McQueen.
~~~
Lightning was beginning to adjust to the… ghostliness of the Inn. It still kind of freaked him out, but he barely noticed anymore, the way the curtains fluttered when there was no breeze in the room or the doors creaked open to rooms he was just about to enter. He’d noticed the latter a lot lately— it was kind of nice, actually. Someone looking out for him. Fancy that.
“Thanks, babe,” he’d taken to saying when a door would open just for him, which he knew was kind of weird, but he missed saying “thanks, babe” to babes.
The front desk agent, an older woman whose name tag read “Lisa,” raised an eyebrow at him. “She has a name, you know,” she pointed out.
“Wait, really?” Lightning hadn’t meant it all that seriously, but now he was curious. “Well, what’s her name?”
“Thea. One of our ghosts. I’m surprised she did that for you, it’s been a while since she was that friendly with someone. She must really like you.”
Lightning just nodded, a strange expression on his face. “Thanks, Thea,” he said to the presence in the room.
“She likes letters, by the way,” Lisa added. “If you ever think about writing one.”
~~~
No, Lightning had not thought about writing a letter. Or letters, period. He wasn’t a writer. And anyone he needed to keep in touch with was simply a text, a phone call, a DM away (not that there were many of those left). He could fire off messages without thinking about them.
Now, sitting here with his pen and his Hauntley Inn stationery, Lightning remembered why he didn’t write letters. They were so slow. And his handwriting was pretty sloppy. He felt like a kid again, struggling to say what he really meant on a lined piece of paper to be judged…
And yet, once he started writing, he couldn’t seem to stop.
He poured his heart out. About how lonely he felt, how everyone loved him and yet he didn’t feel like anyone really cared. How he’d failed so many people, so maybe he didn’t even deserve that— and yet, he craved it anyway. How he had no idea what was next for him, if there even was a “next.”
He left it out on his nightstand, feeling a bit embarrassed and half-tempted to throw the whole thing in the bin. But he thought of what Lisa had said— how Thea was rarely “friendly” with the guests. Being a ghost must be lonely too, right?
Lightning was just about to leave the room when he got the sense of something moving in the air behind him. He whipped around to see… a leak? From the ceiling? Right above his nightstand? Well, that was strange…
Several water droplets had landed on the letter. On the word “lonely.” And the word “worried.” And then, at the very end, a whole sentence: I find myself thinking about you a lot.
Lightning smiled to himself, feeling like a kid once again, but this time in a different way. He felt giddy. Maybe he didn’t have to tell the front desk about the leak quite yet.
~~~
As the weeks stretched on, the letters seemed to pour out of Lightning, like a valve had been opened and all those feelings he’d never known how to put into words had finally found their reader. The ceiling continued to leak, highlighting points that Thea seemed to agree with. Once, Lightning tried cutting letters out from magazines to see if she could spell them out herself, and she rearranged them into: I QUITE LIKE YOU.
Lightning blushed. He hadn’t felt this way in a long, long time.
He began a mission to learn a much about Thea as he could, asking the staff and soon the other guests. Some of the stories were funny. Some were sad. In many of them, Lightning couldn’t help but see himself. It was strange, how much in common he had with a woman whom he couldn’t even see. But when he brought her up to a certain vampire in dark shades, the woman had a very different reaction.
“Who told you that name?” she demanded. Lightning’s eyes widened.
“Uh- Lisa. At the front desk?” Lightning said uncertainly. “I’m sorry, is it, uh, a bad topic?”
“No, it’s just…” Jessie sighed. “That’s my sister. Thea. I just… I feel terribly for her. She’s so lonely. And she’s tried to move on, but she just can’t seem to. I don’t know what’s keeping her here.”
Lightning’s eyebrows furrowed. “Oh. I’m sorry,” he said, because even though he didn’t have siblings, he knew it was a terrible thing to lose one. “Ghosts… they usually have unfinished business, don’t they?”
Jessie nodded. “Usually. But we can’t seem to figure out what hers is.”
That was complicated. On one hand, Lightning had only just met Thea— as much as you could “meet” a ghost, anyway. He didn’t want her to disappear! But he could see how much this hurt Jessie, the fact that her sister was suffering. And though he’d only known the ghost for a short while, he didn’t want her to suffer, either.
“We’ll figure it out,” Lightning promised.
“I’ll help.”
Both of them whirled around to see Lisa from the front desk standing in the doorway. Just as they started to ask how, Lisa put a hand up to stop them.
“I’m a medium. We’ll hold a seance,” she explained.
~~~
Lightning, Jessie, and Lisa gathered around the table, a few candles burning in the middle. Jessie had brought Thea’s favorite book— A Room With A View— and a song she liked softly played in the background. Lightning closed his eyes. “Thea, I really just wanna talk to you,” he said softly. “So does Jessie.”
There was a silence. “I can sense her,” Lisa said. As if to confirm, the curtains rustled. “She’s here. She’s touched that we’re all here. And she’s sorry she’s been so distant, Jessie.”
Jessie was silent, but Lightning could see her eyes shining in the candlelight. He avoided his gaze, as though to give her privacy.
“Can you ask her… what she thinks it would take for her to move on? For her to take care of her unfinished business?” Lightning asked.
Lisa nodded and repeated the question. Lightning ran his hand through his hair anxiously. What if it was the same answer as always, and Thea was trapped forever?
“She says, actually… she thinks she’s ready. She wasn’t sure, but seeing you both here, she realizes she’s found what she’s looking for.”
“Really?” Jessie interjected. “What’s that?”
“She finally feels like she’s understood. She thought that no one would ever understand what it’s like to be a ghost, but talking to Lightning changed that. And… well, she’ll get mad at me for this, sorry, Thea, but she did fall in love with him a little bit. That’s not really the point, of course, but I thought you should know.”
Now Lightning was starting to tear up, too. “I fell in love with her, too. A little bit. But now she’s leaving?”
Lisa nodded. “I’m sorry.”
Lightning shook his head. “No, it’s what’s best for her. I just… I just wish it didn’t have to feel like this.”
“That’s the thing about love, isn’t it?” Jessie said softly. “Sometimes, you know you’ve felt it because losing it hurts so terribly.”
She met Lightning’s eyes across the table and took his hand. Together, they said goodbye to Thea.
And as they left the room, they realized they were still holding hands.
Perhaps ghosts weren’t the only ones with unfinished business.

Sitting Front Row at...(On a Budget Obvs): Lookbook no.15
Hey to anyone reading!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And welcome to my fave lookbook I’ve done in a longggg ass time! Yes, that’s partially because it involved making collages and doing the low effort work of scouring Vogue Runway for “research purposes”, but I promise, that statement wasn’t made out of COMPLETE laziness-I am super happy with it too. It’s been a good use of pre-part-lockdown-lift time in the interim between that brief period of Christmas celebrations and eateries finally fucking opening again because let’s be honest, I always knew I was gonna get distracted by oat milk vanilla lattes and veggie all day breakfasts once I could actually sit down with them at my fave local cafe. You could say I was very much operating on a self-imposed deadline.
The “what I would wear to sit front row at...[insert designer here]” TikTok/Instagram reel trend was something I wanted to get on board with ever since I first saw one and whilst the option of doing my own live action take-I really cannot bear the thought of having to edit footage of myself awkwardly attempting to sit nonchalantly in front of a camera for hours on end-was off the cards considering my complete lack of screen presence, I decided a Tumblr text post would work just as well, and if not even better in a way. Given the absence of the time limitations you face when you’re making a reel or a TikTok I thought it’d be cool to present the looks as part of a mini moodboard for each designer which adds a bit of context to each look even if you aren’t familiar with their past collections and establishes the general vibe of the brand I’m attempting to replicate. Not to sound snotty or as if I am the font of all knowledge on anything high fashion related but even with my amateur knowledge I noticed that as the video trend took off and was adopted by big name influencers, it became less about the average person putting their own personal spin on the aesthetic of the labels we can’t ordinarily afford and more about them building outfits that only vaguely resemble the general public perception of the brand around the real corresponding (and often gifted and thus inaccessible to someone who doesn’t makes thousands for a sponsored post) pieces they own SO I thought I’d take the trend back to its roots and get a bit resourceful. All that being said, in no particular order, here are the outfits I would wear to sit front row at Gucci, Vera Wang, Miu-Miu, Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana, Brock Collection, Alexander McQueen, Etro, Burberry aaaand Saint Laurent based on their past collections and guess what? They didn’t cost a shit tonne of money :-)
-disclaimer: will include an asterisk before any new purchases if from a high street store though to be honest, I don’t think there are any, we shall see! I do include where I got old purchases from in case anyone wants to search anything on Depop/Ebay-
1. Saint Laurent (formerly Yves Saint Laurent)
Tumblr media
-blazer from identityparty on Depop, pleather trousers from Zara, jewellery from Dolls Kill-
I know technically abbreviating Saint Laurent to YSL doesn’t really make much sense anymore given the brand’s name change in 2012, but I’ll always think of it as that in the same way I’ll always associate it with the slightly dishevelled yet simultaneously glitzy rock n’ roll aesthetic. The thing is, whilst YSL hasn’t done anything wildly out of the box for a long time, it’s rare they put a look on the runway that I wouldn’t wear; they never end up being a fashion week standout but the Parisienne take on grunge we’ve seen Anthony Vaccarello establish as his go-to will always have a place in my heart.
2. Alexander McQueen
Tumblr media
-embroidered leather jacket from Ebay (originally Topshop), harness from Amazon, dress from ASOS, boots from Koi Vegan Footwear-
Alexander McQueen is a brand that is pretty much universally liked, from the historically extravagant and groundbreaking shows the man himself put together to Sarah Burton’s more toned down but still beautiful collections. Obviously I didn’t attempt to do justice to the former, so I tried my hand at putting together a look inspired by Sarah’s blend of delicate femininity and nomadic edge, and it went...okay? Like it’s definitely not my favourite of all the looks because it does give off slightly cheap copycat vibes buuut outside of the context of this lookbook it’s cute.
3. Brock Collection
Tumblr media
-boater hat from Ebay, midi skirt from morganogle on Depop, corset top from ownmode_, heels from amybeckett1, bag from Primark-
Brock isn’t as well known a brand as most of the others in this list but I adore everything Laura Vassar Brock does and I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to try and channel the vision of one of the OG pioneers of the cottagecore vibe through my own wardrobe. I mean fr, this woman’s work as a steady provider of meadow photoshoot worthy dresses and corsets and skirts is v slept on and I will not stand for it. I will sit in front of a camera and then write a paragraph in my blog post begging anybody who reads to give LVB (an abbreviation I acknowledge is unlikely to catch on because Lisa Vanderpump anybody?) some form of acknowledgement for her services to period romance novel inspired moodboards everywhere.
4. Marc Jacobs
Tumblr media
-coat from House of Sunny, white shirt from Retro World Camden, co-ord from Sugar Thrillz, bag from Poppy Lissiman-
If there’s one thing Marc Jacobs always does, it’s COMMITS. TO. HIS. THEME. I just KNOW he has a secret Pinterest with separate boards for every fashion era of the 20th century and he is putting those boards to good use providing us with collections that are as immersive as they are eclectic year in year out.
5. Miu Miu
Tumblr media
-beret from H&M, hair clips from H&M, jewellery from Primark, coat from mollyyemmaa on Depop, shirt from YesStyle, sweater vest from YesStyle, skirt from Depop, diamanté belt from Brandy Melville, shoes from Koi Vegan Footwear-
We all like to talk about Bratz dolls and Monster High dolls and Barbies as fashion inspo but can we all focus on Cabbage Patch dolls for two secs so as to acknowledge the fact that a Miu Miu collection is basically all their fits grown up? And made boujie as fuck? If I want my fix of Wes Anderson meets Scream Queens (what a combo) inspired outfits, if I want prissy and girlish but also glam, if I want to look like a bratty rich girl whose one redeeming quality is her eye for vintage clothes, I know where to look and that is the Miu Miu section of Vogue Runway.
6. Vera Wang
Tumblr media
-blazer as in no.1, velvet bralet from catdegaris on Depop, harness from Amazon, skirt from Ebay, knee high socks from Ebay, lace up boots from Ebay-
Vera Wang’s RTW aesthetic, a blend of the ethereal, ultra-feminine bridal designs she’s known for and British style punk rock influences, is something I feel has only become firmly established in recent years but it is everything I ever wanted and more. I always find myself trying to balance the part of me that loves everything girly and delicate and pretty and the part of me that would love to be in a biker gang and Vera’s collections are always an inspirational reminder of just how well it can be done.
7. Burberry
Tumblr media
-coat from charity shop, suit from emmafisher3 on Depop, top from simranindia, shirt underneath from Zara, jewellery from ASOS-
Now I’m not gonna lie, I’m not the biggest fan of Burberry but there have been a few looks over the past few years I’ve really liked and as someone who owns numerous trench coats, high necks and way too much plaid, I thought it’d be an easy one to replicate. Plus, if you can count on Riccardo Tisci for nothing else you at least can rely on him giving you some layering inspo which is very much needed in a country where it literally just snowed in April and where my plans for today have just been cancelled because the iPhone weather app did a Karen Smith and didn’t predict rain for today right up until it started raining so thanks for that one British meteorologists. Your incompetence strikes again.
8. Etro
Tumblr media
-corset from Urban Outfitters, vinyl trench coat from Topshop, boots from Ebay, black slip dress from kaoanaoleinik on Depop, fur trim afghan coat from louisemarcella-
Like with Brock Collection, Etro isn’t a hugely well known brand, but it is always one of my favourites-to add a spanner into the works of any attempts to cultivate a firm sense of personal style, I live for the ornate Bohemian look that Etro does so well just as much as I love both grungy and girly pieces, and so I really wanted to include a brand whose collections go down that route. It was a toss-up between this and Zimmerman, the flirtier, free spirit counterpart to the dark romance of Veronica Etro’s designs; her vision really shines through the most when it comes to the brand’s winter collections, imo, and given that I live in a country where winter or some weather state resembling it does seem to take up 70% of the year, I did decide on channelling her work rather than that of the equally talented Nicky and Simone Zimmermann this time round.
9. Dolce & Gabbana
Tumblr media
-flower crown from ASOS, tiara from Amazon, earrings from YesStyle, dress from alicealderdice1 on Depop, opera gloves from Ebay, boots from Koi Vegan Footwear-
D&G is a brand I felt really conflicted about doing-I don’t include their current collections in my fashion week reviews based on the actions of designers Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce over the last few years because I don’t want to mitigate the collective effort of fashion critics to push them towards irrelevancy. Though people like to claim the brand has turned a corner since Lucio Di Rosa was brought on board as the manager of celebrity and VIP relations last year (they are as prolific a force on red carpet fashion as ever), we haven’t seen any real meaningful apologies or reparations made by Dolce and Gabbana themselves which once again leaves us in the all too familiar quandary of whether or not we can separate the art from the artist especially when it is far too much of a simplification to only credit the two men for their work given there’s a whole design team behind them. There are a LOT of shitty people working in fashion, the whole industry is a bit of a cesspit if we’re honest, but I don’t think that should stop us from at least being able to appreciate old collections if we make sure we aren’t engaging in any kind of promotion of current works whilst doing so. D&G are a brand of high highs and low lows, with looks that range from hideously ugly to showstoppingly beautiful in a single show-when the looks are good, they are GOOD-and their presence in the fashion world is most definitely felt whether we want it to be or not. It would just be shit to refuse to recognise the existence of some real iconic runway moments, the practical work that went into the ornate detail and opulence that helped cement D&Gs place in sartorial history, the styling that’s made goddesses and fairytale queens out of modern day women as they’ve glided down catwalks, the far more extravagant and, let’s be real, sexier version of our world D&G shows have transported us to in the past. Will I talk about D&G ever again? No, and if you Google the scandals their brand has faced over the past few years, there are more than enough reasons why, but just this once I did want to pay homage to some of the collections, the snippets of which I saw on my Tumblr dashboard back when I was about 13, that first got me into fashion.
10. Gucci
Tumblr media
-fur coat from Topshop, clips from Zaful, glasses from Ebay, dress from gracewright246 on Depop, shirt from Boohoo, blazer from charity shop-
Now last but, if you ever read any of my fashion week reviews (the likelihood of someone actually having read one of them and reading this is incredibly, incredibly slim lol, I wouldn’t read me either) you’ll know, definitely not least, is Gucci because Alessandro Michele comes through every!! single!! time!!
The man is truly the king of quirky throwback maximalism and it hurts my heart that a lot of people seem to think of it only as a brand associated with ostentatious displays of wealth. Year after year since Michele was made creative director he has released purposeful, fully-fleshed out collections which unravel themselves to us on the runway like time capsules containing the belongings of the rich and whimsical and yes that can sometimes result in outfits which are *ahem* a bit mismatched but it doesn’t matter because through fashion he manages to take us to a vivid version of the past where people could dress as freely and lavishly as they wanted to, into the wardrobe of a person unaffected by the side-eyeing of others. You get the impression he doesn’t design so much as plays around with some kind of enchanted dress up box and takes inspiration from there and to give that impression is only a credit to his talent-to make outfits so kooky and extravagant look like they were meant to be takes a boldness and genuine love for clothes that I do tend to feel a lot of the big name designers have lost in the pursuit of profit and the necessary placating of the dying customer base that keeps that coming in. Of course I'm not for a second saying Gucci does not care about profit, but at the very least, they have on board a creative director who genuinely has fun with what they’re putting out there and wants to make a statement too and that really shows; you can rest on your laurels and sell tweed boucle jackets to rich old white women for eternity but nobody’s going to mention your brand name and the word groundbreaking in the same sentence ever again unless they’re talking about what it was a century ago, you know (mentioning no names...unless...did I hear someone say Chanel)? That feels like such a shady way to end, lol, but I’m sure said brand will survive-to be fair, they’ve been included in every other What I’d Wear to Sit Front Row At video I’ve seen so although I’m always slagging them off for doing the saaaaame thinggggg year after year, for that same reason their aesthetic is instantly recognisable and so will always be a source of imitation. There are obviously pros and cons to being a brand which constantly reinvents itself but I think it’s totally possible to do that whilst maintaining an overall mission, and Alessandro Michele’s work at Gucci demonstrates that with ease.
Anyway, if you got to here, thanks for reading! I know I’m super behind on this whole TikTok trend and I know a Tumblr post instead of a video is a bit of a cop out but all the real, physically awkward ones out there know that watching yourself back is excruciating lmao, so I hope this does the trick. After this, I’m gonna get back to the reviewing S/S21 collections post though knowing me I’ll probs take a few days to get back into that because I feel like since I left full-time education (RIP me going back in a few months) writing continuously like this for any longer than about 15 mins fries what brain cells I have left. Again, thank you for reading and if you are, sending many good vibes your way! Stay safe!

Line of Duty Series 5 Recap: Framing Ted Hastings
https://ift.tt/38LcPZe
Warning: contains major spoilers for Line of Duty series 5
For almost a decade, Ted Hastings’ AC-12 has been a thorn in the side of Line of Duty’s organised crime group. In series one, the OCG blackmailed DCI Tony Gates with his lover’s corpse so he’d stymie investigations into their money laundering and drug dealing operation, AC-12 uncovered it all – and they’d only been called in to investigate a freebie bacon sandwich.
In series two, the OCG blackmailed DS Jayne Akers and DI Lindsay Denton to reroute the police transport of former gang leader-turned-witness Tommy Hunter so they could ambush the convoy and kill Hunter to stop him from talking, AC-12 sussed the lot.
In series three, Hunter was found to have been one of 17 paedophiles including a senior police officer who sexually abused boys at a children’s home in the 1990s. AC-12 exposed the abuse and sent that officer down. At the same time – with unexpected help from former subject of their investigation DI Lindsay Denton – they cleared colleague DS Steve Arnott who was being framed as a corrupt officer, and exposed the real corrupt AC-12 plant: DI Matthew ‘Dot’ Cottan, who was then killed by the OCG to stop him from talking.
In series four, when the OCG tried to frame vulnerable young Michael Farmer for the murderer of two women they’d killed for the purpose of blackmailing police officers by threatening to plant their DNA on the corpses, AC-12 – with unexpected help from the subject of their investigation DCI Roz Huntley – got to the bottom of it.
In short, the OCG’s life would be a great deal easier without Ted Hastings and his AC-12 kids Arnott and Fleming, who every series get a little closer to uncovering the identity of the most senior corrupt police officer in league with the gang. That senior officer was once known by the codename ‘H’, as indicated in DI Cottan’s Dying Declaration, but after series five, ‘H’ is interpreted to mean that there were four corrupt senior police staff working with the OCG, only three of which have been uncovered so far.
In series five then, a plan was devised to rid the OCG and the corrupt police staff of meddling AC-12 for good. They would frame Ted Hastings as ‘H’, get him sent down, and have the team disbanded. To add insult to injury, they’d use Operation Pear Tree – an undercover op designed to discover whether or not there were institutional links between corrupt officers and organised crime – to do their dirty work. The audacity!
Senior Legal Counsel Gill Biggeloe (like bent series four solicitor Jimmy Lakewell), was a former defence lawyer whose association with the OCG presumably started when she represented one of them in court. Working for Central Police, she took bribes from by the OCG to make things go their way – redacting evidence and using her legal nous to disrupt investigations into their criminal activity.
Tasked with taking down Hastings, Biggeloe was lucky enough to be able to exploit an event from Ted’s past. As an officer of the Royal Ulster Constabulary in 1980s Belfast, Hastings had developed a friendship with Anne-Marie McGillis, a CHIS (covert human intelligence source) who was providing the RUC with info on the IRA. When McGillis was discovered as a leak by the IRA, she was kidnapped and killed, leaving her 10-year-old son John an orphan. John was adopted by relatives in Liverpool, took their name ‘Corbett’ and grew up to be a police officer for Central Police.
Whether this was all her idea or the brainchild of a mystery senior corrupt officer with whom she was in cahoots, Gill covertly approached DS John Corbett a month before Operation Pear Tree was due to start. She lied to him that Ted Hastings was the bent copper responsible for his mother’s death, and had tipped off the IRA that Anne-Marie was an informant in order to quash rumours about an affair between the two of them. She then made sure Corbett was selected as the UCO for Operation Pear Tree, and continued to manipulate things to make it seem as though Hastings was ‘H’.
AC-12 was drawn into Corbett’s story when they investigated an armed ambush on a police convoy transporting heroin with a street value of £10 million. Three police officers were killed and one – PS Jane Cafferty – was shot. The investigation into Cafferty (who’d been blackmailed by the OCG into stopping the convoy to attend a diversionary car accident they’d set up) led them to stumble upon Operation Pear Tree, where they found that UCO John Corbett had lost contact with his handler and was on a one-man mission to uncover the identity of ‘H’, who, thanks to Gill Biggeloe, he was convinced was Ted Hastings.

Line Of Duty series 6: Release Date, Trailer, Cast, Extra Episode & More
By Louisa Mellor
Cafferty wasn’t the only bent copper involved in the heroin ambush. The OCG had used the gambling debts of administrator Vihaan Malhotra to bribe him into passing on information that led to the attack. When his involvement was mooted at AC-12, his cousin PC Maneet Bindra (who’d previously passed on information to bent copper ACC Hilton in exchange for him pulling strings to help Vihaan not lose his job) covered it up. She was discovered, interviewed, served a red notice and suspended pending a full inquiry.
To try to make things right, the suspended Maneet conducted her own undercover op, making contact with the OCG and offering to pass them information, while wearing a recording device. She’d planned to bring AC-12 vital information on the gang to prove her loyalty. Instead, John Corbett discovered her bug and, thanks to his hatred of bent coppers, had her killed.
Steve Arnott then approached the OCG, and Corbett – recognising him as straight-up and incorrupt – started to pass him information on the OCG and attempted to convince him that Hastings was H. Corbett set up OCG member Lee Banks by getting him to deliver bribe money to PS Cafferty while Steve was waiting to raid the place. AC-12 thus got Banks, who was taken to Blackthorn Prison, and learned that Cafferty had been blackmailed by DI Cottan into working for the OCG years earlier.
Corbett told Steve the OCG was planning a raid on the Eastfield Depot, where ‘H’ would be unveiled. AC-12 set up surveillance on the depot, and, despite being distracted by a fake diversion by another bent officer, watched as DCS Lester Hargreaves told the OCG about the trackers AC-12 had placed in the stolen goods, and was then shot dead by John Corbett.  (Hargreaves was being blackmailed by the OCG, who’d retained the condoms he’d used when abusing an underage victim of their sexual trafficking, and were threatening to plant his DNA on a dead body. A photograph of him leaving the ‘brothel’ was temporarily thought to be a picture of Ted Hastings.)
Corbett also told Steve how the OCG communicated with ‘H’, via a chat service on a laptop, which allowed AC-12 to intercept the communication and Hastings to pose as H to get info on the whereabouts of the stolen goods. All the way through, evidence was mounting to viewers that Ted could well have been ‘H’.
After Corbett shot Hargreaves, he went for broke, torturing Ted’s wife Roisin for information on her estranged husband. After Ted learned that Corbett was responsible for the attack on Roisin, he visited Lee Banks in Blackthorn prison, just for a chat, he maintains. Soon afterwards, Lisa McQueen learned from Banks that there was a rat in the OCG so she devised a plan to flush him out. McQueen set up a fake meeting with ‘H’ at a shopping centre, telling only John Corbett about the plan. When the police were there waiting for them, she knew Corbett was the rat and OCG member Ryan slit his throat.
It didn’t help matters that Hastings went rogue after John Corbett’s disappearance, and enacted an unauthorised undercover op of his own. Posing as ‘H’, Hastings went to meet the OCG, to discover the whereabouts of £50 million worth of stolen goods they’d seized from the Eastfield depot. Luckily for him, Arnott and Fleming traced a phone used by an OCG member to Ted’s location, raided the gang and recovered the goods.
After Ted’s rogue mission, he was arrested on suspicion of being ‘H’ and interrogated by AC-3, who came very close to being able to charge him for conspiracy to murder.
How had Biggeloe framed Hastings? She used the life savings Ted lost investing in a failed Irish property development years before to make him susceptible to a bribe. A retired officer in the pay of the OCG approached Hastings, pretending to give him the chance to recover his losses and lending him the seed money to do it. That loan of £100k was actually dirty money easily traceable back to the OCG.
Gill also used her burner phone to contact the OCG when she visited Ted at his office, so any records uncovered would look as though he was the one contacting the gang. And she had a second, more successful attempt at seducing him (he’d already turned her down once before), and in his hotel bathroom, took hairs from his comb that were later planted on John Corbett’s corpse, to make it seem as though Ted had ordered his murder.
Unbeknownst to Biggeloe, Corbett had made an audio recording of their first meeting which would prove her downfall. At the last minute, Arnott and Fleming retrieved the secret recording from Corbett’s wife Stephanie, and used it to exonerate Hastings. Gill was arrested, took immunity and went into witness protection, and Hastings was served with a final written warning for misconduct. He continues to lead AC-12, but will he and his team ever fully recover from the aspersions cast on his integrity?

—Dio Brando's battle cry
Dio Brando (ディオ・ブランドー Dio Burandō?), known as DIO (DIOディオ?) from Part 3 onwards, is the main antagonist of both Phantom Blood and Stardust Crusaders. He is also a posthumous character in Stone Ocean being the one responsible for Enrico Pucci's rise to villainy.
Originally a man of low birth but peerless ambition, Dio is a villain of little conscience, vast cunning, and an insatiable hunger for power. Becoming a Vampire and later a Stand user, Dio Brando has gathered around him many minions and is responsible for many major events of the series such as the death of Jonathan Joestar and the Joestar Family's acquisition of Stand power. Thus he is a dominant character whose legacy persists throughout the series.
Dio is the father of Giorno Giovanna, the protagonist of Vento Aureo, as well as a handful of other illegitimate offspring.

APPEARANCES
PHANTOM BLOOD
Childhood
When he first arrives at the Joestar Estate, Dio is seen wearing typical formal boy's attire from that era; a blue coat, white dress shirt, a tie, suspenders, breeches, and a pair of striped socks. He has blond hair and a handsome face. He also has 3 moles on the lobule of his left ear.
Adulthood
Aside from replacing his coat with a vest, Dio's attire hasn't had much change. However, his overall physique and height have increased significantly. During the events where Jonathan sets out to find the antidote for his father's illness, Dio dons a top hat and a new flamboyant looking cloak that has feathers jutting out of the shoulders.
Vampire
Dio undergoes drastic physical change upon using the Stone Mask to transform into a vampire. His formerly clean hair becomes messy and unkempt, his eyes become sharper and adopt a darker outline, and he develops fangs. His clothing has changed quite a bit as well after his first battle with Jonathan; most noticeable is the scarf around his neck. He wears an ornate dual-colored shirt and matching breeches, a large pair of boots, vambraces, and two suspenders attached to a band around his waist.
STARDUST CRUSADERS
Shadow
DIO does not have a visible face as an effect of the shadowy darkness of his mansion. He has shoulder-length blond hair. He is topless, exposing Jonathan's muscular body (on which his head is sewn in place) and wears green pants with suspenders, gray clogs, black shiny cuffs on both wrists, and, matching his stand, he wears heart-shaped knee guards. In the game JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future, his voice is also distorted (an effect created by the developers to add a sense of mystery). This form of DIO is also called "The Evil Incarnation DIO".
Revealed
Just like the Shadow form, only DIO's entire suit is now colored yellow, with green straps. DIO's face is seen, his hair has remained blond, and he is wearing a jacket with a tight tank-top underneath, as well as chaps with an exposed crotch. He now also wears a heart-shaped circlet, and glossy rings for his cuffs. This is his form during the beginning of the DIO's World story arc. In the anime, DIO's outfit is tinged orange, and his fingernails are very sharp and black.
He also has a necklace covering his neck scar and heart motifs above his feet and on his pant legs, but he quickly stopped sporting them after his first stairway confrontation with Polnareff.
When pursuing the Joestar group, DIO donned a cloak that he discarded during his confrontation with Kakyoin.
Empowered
DIO nears his physical peak after draining Joseph Joestar's blood. His appearance now is similar to his revealed form, minus the jacket and the heart-shaped headband that was destroyed by Star Platinum's attacks. He now sports a deranged and homicidal look and mannerisms, having lost his suave touch. His hair is now disheveled and mostly oriented upwards, while his lips are darker and seem adorned with lipstick. This is his mien during the latter half of the DIO's World story arc, often called his 'High' or 'Awakened' form.

2019 Academy Awards Fashion Critique
It was the biggest awards night of the year for show-business. This year we saw lots of common trends in what the celebrities wore: capes, sparkle, shades of pink, the return of pants and men in velvet tuxedos. More than any other awards show I’ve seen, the celebrities came dressed well. Some played it safe, but lets take a look at who shone bright (and the few who didn’t).
BEST
Awkwafina -  She looked badass in this perfectly tailored DSquared2 sparkly pink tuxedo. The oversized bow at the neck gave it some interest. The tossled hair and light makeup were perfection. Chopard jewelry was the perfect icing on the cake.
Melissa McCarthy - Melissa never looked better than in this feminine take on a tuxedo. The white and black satin caped outfit with tuxedo pants hits all the right notes. If I was going to be picky, I would have gone with a slimmer cut on the leg, but now I’m knit-picking. She looks elegant and gorgeous and very on-trend.
Octavia Spencer - Octavia was glowing in this glittering blue Christian Siriano gown. The colour was perfect on her. She looks relaxed and ready for a win. Her hair and makeup are great. Loves it!
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Michelle Yeoh -She looks exquisite in this nude and metallic gown by Elie Saab. The dress has so much detail that I could look at it for hours and it moved so lovely on the red carpet. Jewelery was the best of the night - the Chopard drop diamond earrings were mesmerizing and her cuff was monumental.  Make-up beautiful, hair was meh. Clutch by Roger Vivier.
Angela Bassett - Angela wowed in this hot pink Reem Acra gown with dramatic bow detail. The “Black Panther” star brought plenty of drama to the red carpet. Pink was certainly the colour of the night. The oversized bow would usually bother me, but because its far enough away from her face, it doesn’t distract from the look. The rest of her styling was on point.
Jennifer Hudson - Seriously - she looks better and better everytime I see her. Jennifer looked fantastic in this asymmetrical red Elie Saab couture gown. Wearing red on the red carpet is always a risk but the colours are different enough that it photographs well. The ruffle and scallop details give the look a romantic feel. Hair and makeup flawless.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Constance Wu - This pleated marigold custom Versace gown was the talk of the red carpet. Constance wore this off-the-shoulder pleated dress with a light cape detail. Stunning hair and makeup. Her Atelier Swarovski jewelry were eye-catching - earrings were an incredible statement piece.
Emilia Clarke - I loved this purple shimmery sculptural Balmain gown. Emilia looked gorgeous in this color. Of course diamonds are the perfect touch to add a bit more sparkle and she chose the perfect lip shade. Emilia has the potential to be a fashionista and hopefully we’ll see her take more risks in the future.
Stephan James - This amazing custom Etro red velvet tuxedo set the bar for men’s fashion for the evening. While I disliked the white patent boots and would have gone with black, he is young enough to pull it off. The oversized bowtie and lapel pin made him stand out on the carpet.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Mark Ronson - Mark looked dashing in this Maison Lancel shawl tuxedo with white piping details. The oversized velvet bowtie gave the look a bit more of a relaxed feel. And I want to steal his Roger Vivier shoes right off his feet. You a size 11 Mark?
Gemma Chan - Someone brought the drama to the Oscars in this hot pink Valentino parachute dress. It floated as she glided down the red carpet. The high collar and sleveless details add to the stunning design of this dress. One of the best looks of the night.
Helen Mirren - Helen looked sexy and playful in this vivid pink Schiaparelli gown. The hidden layers of colour gave the dress different colouring at different angles. And Helen’s diamond wreath necklace was everything!
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Amy Adams - l enjoyed Amy in this Versace gown. It fit her perfectly and showed off her assets. The pattern was interesting and this is how you should do white on a red carpet. No one is hearing wedding bells with this showstopper! And I love that she was dripping in platinum and diamond jewelry courtesy of Cartier.
Rachel Weisz - I was shocked to see Rachel in this red rubber Givenchy couture dress. While I love the sexiness of the dress, I thought the innocent schoolgirl styling of the headband and hair didn’t work with it. But I love the mini cape and the rubber detailing on the body of the dress. The color is perfect for her and I think its a great fashion moment, from the ears down.  Jewelry by Cartier
Jason Momoa & Lisa Bonet - Both in Karl Lagerfeld in couture Fendi. They looked exceptional matching in dusty pink. I think Jason outshone his beautiful wife in the tuxedo, they both wanted to pay homage to the late Lagerfeld. I loved the fact that they colour-coordinated but can someone please tell me why he is wearing a scrunchie on his wrist?
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Emma Stone - Emma has been disappointing me at several of this seasons events but not tonight. I love this sequinned maroon Louis Vuitton column dress. The diamond pattern was unique and the shape was memorable.
Jennifer Lopez - Her Tom Ford mirrorball inspired dress was beyond words. Tom Ford hasn’t been dressing as many celebs this awards season - but when he does, he does it well. This was the perfect dress for Jennifer and her figure. Her hair and makeup (as always) were flawless.
Allison Janney - Allison looked glamorous in this Pamella Roland velvet tuxedo-esque gown. It shows of her sleek frame and height and photographs well. Black is always a safe choice on the red carpet - especially dripping in Chopard jewelry (enough that warrants having a dedicated bodyguard alongside her). You can tell Allison fells comfortable and pretty - and what more could you ask for?
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Lady Gaga - The newly single Gaga turned heads in this black Alexander McQueen with leather gloves. But its very possible that you missed the dress because you were blindsided by the 128 carat canary diamond she was wearing around her neck. The ‘Tiffany’ diamond was last worn in 1967 by Audrey Hepburn for a photo shoot and its the third time this necklace has ever been worn. While I wouldn’t have normally paired a yellow diamond with this dark dress, Gaga lightened the her look with platinum hair and fresh light makeup. An iconic look for years to come - classy and edgy.
Krysten Ritter - This is how you dress a baby bump. She looked crazy beautiful in this figure hugging Reem Acra lace dress. Stunning.
FAILS
Regina King - Ok - this is a beautiful Oscar de la Renta dress but the overall look was too bridal for the red carpet. There was nice detailing along the hip over the slit. But the Chopard jewels and Louboutins weren’t enough to save this look. But please let me know where you’re registered at.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Tina Fey- Tina looked like she was in a bridesmaid’s dress…which is not surprising that this is custom Vera Wang. Her hair and makeup are gorgeous. The colour is lovely on her but the rest is a snoozefest.
Charlize Theron - This backless baby blue Dior couture gown could have been a hit, but it mostly looked uncomfortable. The mock turtleneck and pointed shoulders with long sleeves just seemed overdone. I can’t tell what the fabric is - but it looks poly and itchy (though hopefully it isn’t). The Bulgari necklace is fab - hair and makeup look fine. Overall forgettable.
Maya Rudolph - Dress was too big and swallowed her up. The matching dress and cape detail were just too much. The pattern is too busy. But at least I know who took my grandmothers’ old curtains.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Laura Harrier - Beautiful girl but the styling was all wrong. The baby blue Louis Vuitton dress and matching shoes derailed quickly. The ruby and emerald statement necklace and the green eyeshadow and red nails all clashed with the softness of the dress. I would have changed the shoes to a silver metallic heel to add some interest. And the dress itself, while ok, looked a bit too much like a prom dress.
Yalitza Aparicio - This Rodarte dress was pretty but not what we would expect for a best actress nominee. Rodarte is an incredible designer and they should have helped her find a dress that would help her make a statement. Sadly, no one will remember this one.
Brie Larson - While this Celine (by Hedi Slimane) dress is beautiful, it makes the pale Brie look like ghostly. Had the hair been darker and the makeup more prominent, MAYBE this could have worked. But if Beyonce wore this to the Grammys, she likely would have been best dressed. Sorry Brie.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Glenn Close - Glenn was way over-the-top (I can’t believe I said that!) in this  Wes Gordon for Carolina Herrera (4 million beads and weighs 42 pounds) gold capped dress. The dress had over 4 million beads and weighed 42lbs. It also was the envy of Liberace’s ghost.
Linda Cardellini - Well who doesn’t love a mullet dress cut down to the navel?!?! This pink Schiaparelli should be burned immediately. If not sooner. It’s so bad. And before you fire your stylist, please take them for an eye examination first. Thanks.

Why Are Women Turning to Witchcraft in 2018?
There was little place for the word “witch” in my Roman Catholic upbringing. Yet, despite nuns patrolling the school halls and weekly confession at church, I felt a magnetic pull toward all things witchy. I became obsessed with the film The Craft, begged my parents for a Ouija board and even held lunchtime “seances” with my schoolmates, one of which I’m still convinced created a towering swirl of dust that sent everyone running for the hills.
My flirtation with the occult lasted into middle school and was mostly a superficial study in teen angst. I frequented Hot Topic at the mall, experimented with gothic garb on the weekends, surreptitiously got a few untoward piercings and blasted Garbage, Veruca Salt and Hole from my bedroom. As I entered my senior year, my inner anarchist was tamed by my desire to succeed academically and socially. My alternative choices weren’t winning me any popularity contests, so I befriended our high school’s queen bee, started dating a football player and traded in my studded choker for pink lipgloss.
It’s not hard to see why I was so quick to abandon my witchy inclinations. Throughout history, the word “witch” has been demonized, used to describe ugly old hags lurking in the woods and plotting devilish schemes or conspiring to eat little children. In reality, witchcraft has less to do with the sordid rituals depicted in movies than it does a woman’s innate connection to nature, inner wisdom and intuition, explains writer Lisa Lister in her book Witch: Unleashed. Untamed. Unapologetic. “A witch is a woman in her power,” says Lister, whose book offers ways women can use magic to self-heal, manifest dreams and create change. This is a truth the pagan community has known since time immemorial, but today, elements of witchcraft, like tarot readings, smoke cleansing and healing crystals, have become part of our vernacular. Women today are feeling the same draw toward their own magic that I felt as a child. Yet “witch” has been used as a pejorative for centuries.
Today, elements of witchcraft, like tarot readings, smoke cleansing and healing crystals, have become part of our vernacular. Women today are feeling the same draw toward their own magic that I felt as a child.
Witchcraft, a term used to describe a wide range of practices and pagan belief systems, has its roots in the Goddess religions of ancient Europe and the Middle East. This ancient earth-based spirituality celebrates the divine feminine and holds a deep reverence for nature, the cycles of the seasons and female sexuality at its core. Slowly, Goddess religions were superseded by war-based, patriarchal belief systems, the most well-known example being Christianity. From the 15th to 17th centuries, the Church unleashed the force of the Inquisition to convert non-believers and suppress dissent, during which women were used as scapegoats for political and social unrest.
Under the guidance of the tome Malleus Maleficarum (“The Hammer of the Witches”), millions of women were declared heretics and tortured, hung or burned alive during the infamous witch hunts. This female genocide targeted any woman with property or power, women who practised herbal or natural forms of healing (midwives in particular) and women who displayed sexual independence.
“If you read the witch trial accounts, it’s all about sexuality being this horrible, dangerous force,” says Starhawk, a Witch, activist and one of the founding mothers of neo-Goddess religion. Starhawk says the legacy of this fear mongering is still evident today. “The persecutions have left us with fear around standing up, taking our power and speaking out,” she explains. “They have left us with a sense that power, especially spiritual power, that isn’t affected by or accepted by the authorities is somehow dangerous and suspect.”

In case you missed it, the witch—Wiccan and beyond—is having a moment in pop culture. Millennials are turning to traditional forms of divination like tarot, #witchfashion and #modernwitch yield thousands of results on Instagram and celebrities are publicly identifying as witches. Post-Trump election, Lana Del Rey admitted to casting a hex on the president as part of a worldwide movement to bind Trump through magic ritual led by Michael M. Hughes, author of the recently released Magic for the Resistance: Rituals and Spells for Change. Lorde is quoted as calling her group of friends her “coven” and has become an icon for gothic fashion. Vanity Fair dubbed her “The Queen of Darkness.” Influencers like Bri Luna of The Hoodwitch are part of the vanguard that is defining the modern witch, with an Instagram aesthetic that garners over 300,000 followers and touts “everyday magic for the modern mystic.”
The witch aesthetic is de rigueur. Fashion labels such as Comme des Garçons, Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen have all turned to the dark, subversive style of the witch in their designs. Experimental designers Edward Meadham and Clio Peppiatt looked to the witch for inspiration in their Spring 2018 collections. Peppiatt was inspired by the 2016 film The Love Witch, a lush technicolour dream that satirizes how female sexuality is portrayed in the horror genre. Tarot-card motifs, skeletons and cosmic references abound.
Clio Peppiatt Spring 2018 Collection. Photography by Asia Werbel.
In her book Witches, Sluts, Feminists, modern witch and writer Kristen J. Sollée notes that during the witch-hunting era, “glamour” meant a magic spell of illusion cast by a witch. “The traditional witch aesthetic is about dressing for yourself, not for the male gaze,” explains Sollée, who teaches a class on the legacy of the witch at New York’s New School. “Black is also stereotypically not considered a feminine colour, so, in a way, there’s a rejection of traditional femininity when you’re dressing like the witch,” she adds. The witch was the original Man Repeller. However, dressing in dark, gothic style is by no means a requirement to practise witchcraft. “You can totally be a pink, patent-leather, leopard-print witch,” notes Sollée.
Modern metaphysical shops and tarot boutiques are also a far cry from their dark, beaded-curtain, incense-shrouded predecessors. Passersby could easily mistake Vancouver’s The Good Spirit for a chic home-decor boutique torn from the pages of Dwell Magazine: White walls and sparse greenery are the backdrop for bowls of colourful crystals and artfully displayed bundles of sage and juniper; Scandinavian-style chairs and tables adorned with white hydrangeas and candles set the stage for tarot readings. “I didn’t feel like there was a place that spoke to a new generation of people tapping into their spirituality that would seem relatable,” says owner Savannah Olsen. “Our aesthetic means that we get a lot of first-time readings.”

For those for whom witchcraft has been a deep, lifelong spiritual practice, this shift of witchcraft and its accoutrements from the fringes to the mainstream is both galvanizing and problematic. As when any marginalized movement becomes popular, there is the fear that its mass consumption will cheapen or water down its ethos, or that its symbols will be appropriated by those who lack the esoteric knowledge that grants a deeper understanding. As Sollée outlines in the chapter “Hex Sells: Feminism, Capitalism, and the Witch,” the major issue with the commodification of witchcraft is that in some cases it feeds into a mindless consumer culture. When you pick up a smudging stick or tarot deck from a big chain like Urban Outfitters, you may be unknowingly supporting overseas sweatshops that pollute the environment or exploit women, explains Sollée. The upside is that the exploration of some of witchcraft’s more superficial aspects can act as a gateway to meaningful belief and practice. “I think it’s great,” says Starhawk. “Out of that initial interest people may say ‘I’m going to do more than just dress the part; I’m going to study, read and find some groups I can learn from.’”
In our Trump-era political landscape, when women’s sexual and reproductive rights are under siege, it seems appropriate that women are turning to the symbol of the witch for empowerment.
One arena in which the mainstream co-opting of witchcraft seems to have gone deeper than surface level is the political sphere. In our Trump-era political landscape, when women’s sexual and reproductive rights are under siege, it seems appropriate that women are turning to the symbol of the witch for empowerment. “Historically, the word ‘witch’ has been used to punish women and police female sexuality,” says Sollée. “The word ‘slut’ is the same in that both have been used to ostracize women and mark them as less than.” Although the feminist reclaiming of the word “witch” can be traced back to the suffragists, and later the W.I.T.C.H. movement of the ’60s, its recent thrust into the spotlight can be partly attributed to the 2016 election.
The word was weaponized against Hillary Clinton during the presidential campaign. In addition to Trump’s infamous “nasty woman” remark, Hillary was called “the wicked witch of the left” and “the devil,” and radio host Rush Limbaugh declared her a “witch with a capital B.” In reaction, Hillary supporters subverted this rhetoric, declaring themselves “witches for Hillary.” “Women flipped the script and the narrative,” says Sollée. “If everyone’s going to call Hillary a witch, well, yeah, witches are fucking cool. Witches are empowered women.”
The widespread appeal of the witch circa 2018 goes beyond feminism. Witchcraft’s reverence for nature and its negation of so many cornerstones of capitalist culture strike at the core of some of the greatest issues of our time. With heartbreaking reminders of the planet’s decimation spreading like wildfire (quite literally), turning to ancient practices that exalt nature and, in many cases, work toward conservation resonates with people. Much of the ritual work Starhawk leads is focused on environmental restoration. “The core of Goddess religion is the work of regeneration, and to me that’s very sacred work,” she says. At a time in history when our lives are predominantly digital, voice-activated and automatic, the tactile, earthy qualities of witchcraft, such as smoke cleansing, tarot card readings and other ritual work, may also touch on a longing in all of us for something real that we can connect with.

While I can thank my childhood years in the confessional for jump-starting my career as a writer and storyteller, being in touch with my own power, intellect and sexuality is something I no longer feel the need to atone for. I may not join a coven, but if we’re speaking of empowered, creative, politically-conscious women, “witch” is a word I’m happy to define myself with. At a time when the rights of marginalized people are under fire and the planet is suffering, identifying with the witch, a symbol of solidarity and liberation, is a radical act of rebellion. It’s the witching hour.

Amazon HQ2 in Denver? Here’s what they’re saying on Twitter and Facebook – Denver Business Journal
News today that Denver has made Amazon.com Inc.’s short list of 20 cities that may soon be the site of "HQ2" has social media abuzz.
Companies, politicians and especially Colorado residents have a lot to say about the issue.
"Colorado is one of the most business-friendly states in America and we believe the Denver region would be a great choice for Amazon’s second location!" said Gov. John Hickenlooper on Twitter.
But many people expressed concern about the soaring cost of housing here and the infrastructure and transportation issue plaguing the city as it continues to grow.
We compiled a list of some of the comments appearing on Twitter and Facebook about the announcement. (Editor’s note: Names and comments are published as they appear on Twitter and Facebook).

It’s great to be on Amazon’s list of finalists as they consider the location of their second headquarters.

The only reason I like this is because our home values and the rent you can charge will go up. I better get packages faster than Jimmy John’s.

Nashville is the booming American city. Growing 100 people a day. Look at all the business HQ who have moved here for the tax base.

Short list? 20? I was thinking you’d say top 5.

At what cost to the tax payers?

We’re not going to lie, We’re kinda good with it.

If you have to ask State and Local government tax breaks for life; it should make people question Amazon net worth.

How is this great when it’s said that if Amazon moves to Colorado, the cost of living is going to go sky high and people, even some of the ones who come with Amazon, will financially struggle the whole time?! This is not good!! This is pure greed!!
Missliberties, @missliberties
NO! This state is crowded enough. Home prices are too expensive already. Because of that my property taxes and my car insurance have skyrocketed.
No THANKS to Amazon. Go somewhere else.

Considering we will not give up $1B in incentives like other Socialist states, like Texas, we will not be getting it. We are only going to pony up $10M. Missed it by "00" that much.

I suspect that by the time they are able to start hiring, we will be in an economic downturn, so it could be a good thing. Just because we are experiencing a strong economy and unaffordable housing costs today, doesn’t mean we will be in 2 years when the headquarters is complete. Denver has a lot to offer in the way of lifestyle and access to distribution and travel, but the technical labor pool is thin. Most of the employees would need to come from out of state.
Jeremy M.
The downside is that people want to keep moving here and apartment rents will continue to skyrocket! I’m trying to save up to move into an apartment and it’s just so hard because the rents are ridiculous as it is! It’s simple supply and demand. The more demand and less the supply there is, the higher the prices go!
A ton of people have already moved here ever since we stupidly legalized marijuana, so I definitely don’t want the Amazon headquarters here cuz even more people will move here and I’m just done with it!
Stacey C.
Terrible! The only way it would be good for the state is if they build it out east of the airport. That way people on the eastern plains have another option for employment.
Whitney M.
Legitimate question: does this additional headquarters aid in improving our roads and general infrastructure? Like, is there a kickback or something? Because our roads aren’t equipped to withstand what we have now, but add in more people and we’re in trouble. Additionally, what about other issues such as water, sewage, power? Or median income/condo housing? We have apartments and homes, but a substantial lack of ‘starter homes’ or condos due to construction defects laws. Good opportunity in theory, but in reality, is this not just more fuel to the fire on all of our existing issues?
William L.
We absolutely need a new Amazon headquarters in Denver! 10,000 new high paying jobs, averaging 100,000. Billions in investment for the city to help offset growth. A strong padding against economic downturns for the city. A lot of taxes.
Justin L.
The Front Range needs to address the issues they have now. It’s starting to fit those needs for those who are living here now, and the migration to and from the state is starting to move in both directions. A Big Bang population growth would not be good. Affordable housing needs to be rectified, along with homelessness, water issues, and roads. The economy here is doing great, and Amazon has a big presence in the area already. I know I’m not a “native” but I have lived here for 7 years and made sure to contribute without leaving any of my NC handprints all over. I think Atlanta and Amazon, or Austin, would be a great fit.
Ryan D.
I feel like traffic just got worse and rent went up. Amazon is bringing people here but not with higher salaries than anyone else. It will just add to the congestion problems we already have in Denver.
Jeff C.
Denver is not going to get it!!!! No huge, sane business would relocate to a city with massive housing shortage and high rents. Pueblo maybe… not Denver…
Rianna R.
Noooooooooo. Maybe in 5 to 10 years when we have figured out how to deal with this massive growth spurt better, but right now I think Denver needs to take a minute.
Zachary A.
They have already built a massive warehouse on the north side of town. The headquarters coming here wouldn’t change much.
Michael B.
Well, that’s depressing. We already can’t handle the overcrowding issues and the congestion issues that we have today. Bringing in thousands and thousands of more people is only going to make an already bad situation much, much worse. Cross your fingers and hope they pick another city.
Deborah N.
Hope they choose someplace else. Traffic is bad enough.
