पाकिस्तान में किसी धार्मिक स्थल पर गेट पर पत्थर चलने पर हंगामा किया जाता है और यहां मस्जिदें जल गईं क़ुरान फाड़ दी पर सन्नाटा ,कोई हंगामा नहीं कोई सेक्युलर बोल नहीं रहा, जैसे नार्मल बात हो। शमीम अहमद लिखते हैं : पाकिस्तान के पंजाब प्रांत में अभी कुछ दिन पहले ही एक परिवार के लोग आपसी विवाद की वजह से गुरुद्वारे के गेट पर पथराव कर देते हैं, उसके बाद एक घंटे के भीतर ही वहाँ तमाम मुस्लिम धर्मगुरु उस गुरुद्वारे पर पहुँच कर सिख समुदाय के साथ अपनी पूरी सहानुभूति में खड़े हो जाते हैं। पूरी की पूरी पाकिस्तानी सियासत दोषियों को एक सुर में सजा देने के पक्ष में बात कही। इमरान खान तुरंत एक्शन में आते हैं। दंगाई गिरफ्तार होता है और उसे आतंकवाद जैसी मजबूत धाराओं में गिरफ़्तार करके जेल भेज दिया जाता है! एक हमारे यहाँ दंगाइयों की भीड़ मस्जिद, मदरसे और मजारों को आग लगा देती है, मस्जिद के मीनारों पर चढ़कर भगवा झंडा फहराती है। लेकिन सियासतदान हों या फिर धर्मगुरु इसपर निंदा तक नहीं करते हैं। कार्यवाही तो बहुत दूर की बात है! फिर भी हम सबसे बड़े धर्मनिरपेक्ष देश हैं, सबसे बड़े सहिष्णु हैं, सबसे बड़े मानवतावादी हैं, सबसे बड़े लोकतांत्रिक हैं। आखिर इस लोकतंत्र को मैं किस बटखरे में रखकर आज तौलूँ, जहाँ सब कुछ सच दिखाई दे? और सबसे बड़ी बात है सूतिये सीना चौडा करके कहते भी हैं के दुनिया में सबसे ज्यादा सुरक्षित मुस्लिम इसी देश में है। #AliAkbar के वॉल से (at Pakistan) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9CXFeeDBCM/?igshid=1j64ry9yul7p5
