sooooo I’ve recently stopped being dead to the world
I had to backtrack and reread down to your answer to my last ask (which,,, thoughts,, when you manage to beat them into submission pls pls pls pls share everything) because I haven’t touched tumblr in a hot second but then I saw your post about lok s1 (and specifically s1 korra) and,,,
okay so this is me and my dumb hyperfixation talking but how do you think the rest of tlok would’ve gone if makorra wasn’t ruined. like just in general, what do you think would’ve changed?? if anything??
keeping this short but like. brain worms are munching. cuz the way their characters developed and how they each influenced each other. how would that have ended like. romantically. like what if korra burned bright and bright and bright and offered her soul and her strength and every one of her fingernails in love and mako bit his lip hard enough to offer blood in a kiss. what if they were a little bit insane by the end of everything.
sorry that doesn’t make any sense!
love
🐌
hey snailon!!! i've missed you <3 i've been hella busy myself (cough i have four ap tests in a row next week) but it's always lovely to see you around haha
hmm there are definitely a fair share of really well written meta regarding a not-slanderized makorra, but i don't really have any specific links on me rn. i'll just give you my sparknotes version of what i'd imagine, which might end up combined with stuff i've read from other people that i don't remember reading
i'd probably postpone them more than the series did — which, granted, they did write it with one season in mind, so i'll give them that. (i would argue that it's still a valid explanation for certain writing choices, because even though the books were commissioned before the release of their predecessors, it's not like the writers get to just rewrite the ending spontaneously bc episodes aren't constructed chronologically lol) okay ignoring that tangent
i'm okay with the love triangle in season 1 as it is because even though it's insane, it also checks out on all parts for korra, asami, and mako in terms of backstory and personality at this point in the story. korra is socially unaware because she never interacted with people her age or really Society, asami is desperately lonely and values good intent above all else, and mako is also impressively socially stunted and has the pressure of financial concerns as well. (if it were up to me, i would either just commit to korrasami or makorra from the start and add in the third if going in the throuple direction. i'm going off on a tangent again)
i have conflicting feelings about endgame. on one hand, makorra is so full circle by concluding the way they do here — mako's first encounter with korra he treats her like he doesn't give a shit that she's the avatar, the first person to ever do so; yet, by the end when korra's absolutely devastated and believes her only value was as the avatar, mako tells her straight up that he doesn't care if she's the avatar or not, as he has all along. it's genuinely so cute and i could honestly write so many more words about it than i did. but at the same time, i just would like to think that after the shitshow love triangle, they would put off getting together, perhaps as an overcompensation upon recognizing how they hurt asami.
since the latter route is the au i've decided to follow, so be it. in endgame, korra and mako still have their full circle moment and spinny-hug, but instead of kissing in front of naga they just longingly pine into one another's eyes. excessively so the viewers know. okay cut
season 2 they are rekindling their friendships with asami and asami is tired of watching them dance around their feelings for one another and also maybe pining just a little bit for korra but huh what. i would actually have to rewrite the entirety of lok to shift s2 into a readable mess. korra is still amazing as always and saves the world as always. oh also throw in some korrasami with the family betrayal theme. yeah i don't want to think too hard about this
see the struggle is that i love krew!friendship in season 3 so much but at the same time i feel like end of season 2 is the perfect time for a makorra get-together instead of a makorra breakup, seeing that korra has literally changed the entire world all by herself because she is so amazing. so alas, we'll go with end of season 2. mako no longer lives under his desk to hide from korrasami and in the two weeks between s2 and s3 they are done with their honeymoon phase so they'll just be as they are through s3 tbh. honestly there was so much makorra shipteasing throughout canon s3 that i don't really think there'd need to be too much rewriting. they're still the level-head/kick-the-door-down-subtlety duo within the krew dynamics and they're still clearly very important to each other specifically. the makorra hug before korra goes up to face zaheer might be drawn out even more and maybe something sweet couples say idk. (i have so much rizz i know wht i'm saying)
korra gets even more trauma for a lifetime (again), and three years pass. korra writes to asami once as in canon because by the time she feels human enough to pick up a pen, she doesn't even know how to talk to mako, let alone try to address the guilt of ignoring the guy who devoted himself to her so thoroughly. asami understands what it is to lose. mako (& bolin) has lost more than anyone else once perhaps but i think that the trauma repression means that that was never processed and he would be terrible to talk to about any of this. he's been there, but he doesn't understand it, if that makes sense.
okay so korra comes back, makorrasami dinner (ig the shitling that canon wu is is there also), makorrasami train fight, then we have remembrances and beyond the wilds — y'know, the korrasami/makorra episodes respectively. korra is now experiencing feelings for both of them Oh Fuck. by default i would say that masami has been hooking up through these three years but since makorra was a thing through s3 then i retract that; however, their friendship has rekindled very deeply as the only two members of the krew left in the city. and mako & korra have not discussed what they were or what they want to be at all, just been adamantly dancing around the subject.
blah blah kuvira blah blah city blows up then the wedding then bam!!!! mako's love confession to korra is actually a love confession to korra (wdym "i'll follow you into battle no matter how crazy things get; i've got your back and i always will" ISN'T a confession of love). korra is joined by both mako and asami after tenzin leaves, asami grieves, and the three of them have a moment together that has very heavy implications for throuple-ism. then bolin pulls up very devastated that he has missed the final krew party. cue the laughter, cue korra's final delivery of "i'll always try to restore balance" bc it should've been here instead as the three of them stare at the changed city before them, and cut.
(yes krew should've had the final scene together. i've said it before that i don't think korrasami was particularly well written, but i still like them and the ending is still very sweet. however, i hate that they completely disregarded the rest of the cast for the final episode instead of giving them a scene together, even if not the very last one, bc of how that translated over into the entire fandom… i mean what. and the spirit world vacation is a sweet sentiment but also i feel that korra would never immediately go leave on a vacation immediately after everything that just happened and her declarations of duty. i don't think i articulated that very well. but yes.)

Wooo boy, I disappeared for a bit there lol ^^ Sorry about that
Anyway, I've been having so much fun in the last couple months with the TSAMS lore and I've been thinking of posting a couple times, but just didn't find the time for it. But now, or at least soon, I have time :)
We all know how Moon's been going insane for like, the last month or so, making bad decision after bad decision, and since the episode "You're Making A Mistake in VRChat", I've been thinking Moon might have been corrupted somehow. That corruption probably happened when he talked with Old Moon, because signs of his sanity rapidly declining started after that. Wonder why. ¬_¬
Even before that talk, he was doing horribly, but he at least wasn't having realistic hallucinations of scenarios nor was he sinking so deeply into the whole 'I have to kill to protect my familly' mindset.
In the previously mentioned video Newmoon was hallucinating Oldmoon, possibly as a form of his conscience, but I like to think that might actually be the guy talking. What could have happened (and I know it's a very big if, but eh) is Monty possibly screwing up by not foreseeing a side-effect they should have. But like, also you can't predict every outcome, and being corrupted by talking to an old version of yourself - who shouldn't exist, since ya know, the whole getting erased part - isn't an ordinary outcome, or something that like ever happened.
We know that Newmoon talking with Oldmoon was possible because a sort of instinctual, pre-programmed backup was created of him, one that could be potentially accessed by The Creator. We also know this backup is unable to front the body, or reactivate on its own, but then yet again, was it not poked at? Was it not, in a way, activated?
It is possible that Monty, by allowing Newmoon to access that part of his head, unintentionally reactivated him and may have cause some form of corruption to begin in their shared systems. Since now that he may be potentionally active, they're shared again. Even if he's unable to front, he might still have some affects, that even HE doesn't want.
Oldmoon, for all his faults, wouldn't have ever decided to leave his family alone, unlike Newmoon, who internalised their entire conversation. He also misunderstood I think, because the whole point of his existence is to be the better version. To me it felt like during their conversation, that Oldmoon was trying to tell him to do whatever it takes to protect their family, but he also probably meant for him to stay true to himself and not go on self-destructing spirals and fall to the same mistakes he did.
If we theorise, or headcanon, that during that confrontation in Moon's current hide-out he WAS actually talking to the real manifestation of the real Oldmoon, then it could mean very bad things for Newmoon. Because the only way I can even begin to think that's possible, is corruption of code as I previously mentioned before.
If their AIs are somewhat intermingling with one another, then that is not only not intended, but also probably extremely harmful for their coding. It may also possibly cause insanity or other mental problems, explainging the current state of things. It also brings up questions.
IF that is Oldmoon, then can he grow "strong" enough to take over the body? Even if just partially? IF Moon is corrupted, then is there a way to fix his code without another factory reset?
Or, which is the more likely thing, the aforementioned conscience manifesting in the form of Oldmoon, the person Newmoon can't help but still compare himself to? Possibly (probably)
It is just simply too fun to think about scenarios like this ^^
The what ifs, the burning questions, the Oldmoon content in the last month or so, are just too exciting for me not to think and talk about!
Even if I'm probably wrong about this, and it really is just grief corroding away at Moon's sanity and his conscience manifesting as the most unlikely person, I'll still headcanon until proven otherwise that it's actually Oldmoon. Would explain why it's actually him haunting Moon now.
Monty, my person, my lovely theythem, partner, you may have fucked up. We should all know by now that the dead should stay dead (:

Also,, any thoughts ab PB you wanna rant ab? /nf
OHOHOH YEA ABSOLUTELY !!!!!! UUHHhhhhhh hmmmm ,,,,
Oh !! Ok so , this is more of a fun fact , but i think i'll try and turn this fun fact into a ramble . so !! as a kid , i remember PB being my all-time ultimate favorite . looking back on me during elementary ,,, it was perhaps a bit obvious ,, i posted about it before , but i absolutely based my personality off of her and finn . but , as a kid and having only seen the earlier seasons , i absolutely only had a very black-and-white view of PB. at the time i loved her because she was feminine, pink, a princess, and kinda cool ! (she was ,, basically all i thought i wanted to be LOL ,,,, we see how that turned out /lh) and honestly , that's kinda how PB was for the first few seasons methinks . she was a scientist , a ruler , and a boss / crush ! and also very "proper" , but i think that plays into the whole "ruler" aspect . BUT as you get to know her , i ADORE how different sides of pb show !!! even her less ,,, ? "good" (for a lack of better terms) sides !
PB's plenty feminine , but she's a badass !! she's a scientist yes , and doesn't always use her knowledge for the best !! she's a ruler undeniably , but if you look past the candy people's blissful ignorance , is she really a *good* ruler ? she also turns less from a "boss / crush" into a friend , which i think is very very wonderful . but off of that lovely topic , pb isn't a great person , and i LOVE HER FOR IT !!!! she's not just black-and-white !!! she's complicated , and has a very interesting way of thinking !! honestly , in my very humble opinion , thinking of pb as either "good" or "bad" immediately makes you wrong about her . PB is good *and* bad !! that's the POINT !!! not to say you're wrong for thinking "oh , pb is more this-or-that" or "i like pb bc she's this-or-that" ofc !! just saying , if you see her as one or the other , then imo you're wrong (not just wrong , but !! taking away from her character !!!) adventure time characters were meant to be more in-depth than most cartoon characters , i do believe that was confirmed by the creator himself .
i also don't exactly know how to put it into words , but i think pb's roles are important also bc !! throughout the series , she's able to serve as a sort of ,,, i dunno , constant maybe ? for finn . no matter whether he sees her as a boss , a crush , or a friend - she's constantly going to be there for him . no matter in which way he looks up to her , he does just that . looks up to her . going back to the hall of egress for example , finn thinks of her / hears her for advice several times (she taught him what "egress" meant , and said the line at the end about the cornucopia :]!)
aaaaalso , i really enjoy the time where she's away from the candy kingdom ! whatever you'd call the arc(?) around the time of "varmints" and "stakes" . those episodes REALLY show you a different side of pb !! it's hinted at several times vaguely , (one that comes to mind is in "what was missing" where marceline is clearly singing about her , and you see her sad / shocked expression + how she was a bit embarrassed but admits to keeping the shirt from marcy) ! the sides of pb that she tries to hide - her fear , her immaturity , and her guilt . i think one of the most insane (ONCE AGAIN LACK OF BETTER TERMS LOL) parts was where pb cried !!!! pb is a PERSON !!!! she has FEELINGS !!!!! no matter how hard and long she tried to seem like a serious ruler , she really has always been a person. how she handled those emotions, and how she regulated them, changed - but , they were always there.
ANOTHER THING I LOVE ABOUT PB THAT I DUNNO WHERE ELSE TO TOSS IS , !! she IS willing to try and see things differently !! she takes things into consideration sometimes - she wants and tries to be a fair and just ruler / friend . the moment in "high strangeness" when she realized she was wrong , she fixed her actions !! at the end of the series (i believe it was in "come along with me" but i may be wrong) she tries to listen to finn . she lets him talk to gumbald (+ the others) , even if she very much didn't want to !! people tend to see her as nothing but selfish , which is jsut incorrect !! she may be selfish at times , but it isn't all that's to her !!!!

i once again am overwhelmed by stupid busywork. Get Me Out
listening: finished the counter/weight prequel eps! feels good to be listening to a friends at the table thing in-time with when they're released, lol. i fully laughed out loud at the heartfelt moment between aria and hymn being interrupted by austin's fucking ice machine. incredible. no notes. "people are gonna go insane about aria in this one" keith you are SO right.
music for the week was the spotify release radar! just gettin some new tunes. i'm thinking of making a playlist that's just the songs that i like from release radar and the at the end of the year i can have a New Of 2024 list, idk. i AM going to try and be more discerning about what things i post, though - it would be very easy to just drop a huge list of all the songs on there that i kinda liked with no commentary but i think it'll be more fun to do fewer songs and actually talk about them, y'know?
philadelphia (matt maltese): feels like a mug of tea. very soft. nostalgic for something i've never seen. travels (rob blivion): really does seem like it should be playing over some indie film montage of someone travelling through mists in the scottish highlands. harsh truths (lemoncello): another indie soundtrack song. i think there's a bass in the background? although in retrospect i think it's a cello. lemoncello. duh. anyways it's very good. burning down the house (paramore): this is SUCH a fun cover. what can't paramore do for real. oh no::he said what? (nothing but thieves): BOUNCY. toe tapper. i am driving down a neon highway at 10000mph. coming home song (sammy rae & the friends): back to wistful and nostalgic. feels a certain kind of way especially right now because i am in the process of finding a new apartment, entirely alone for the first time. jolene (maneskin & dolly parton): speaking of really fun covers, yes yes yes. everything i would have wanted from this.
honorable mention to love me not (emei). i do not like this song particularly. it is stuck in my head though.
reading: fallow.
watching: just like last week: with the boyf, the newest dungeon meshi, i loved the way they animated the mimic. then some kill la kill. we're up to episode 11 now, almost halfway! also went to a superbowl party sunday. basically what you'd expect. fun socializing though.
playing: only had the one dnd last weekend, the one i run! went well. definitely was kinda sleepy and not as focused as i'd like. sigh.
making: mostly fallow...i cut out some of the border pieces for my handsewing project in a nice matching solid blue during the superbowl but have not attached any of it yet. started idly crocheting a rectangular prism-shaped object to use as a mtg deck case.
drew a little birthday card for my grandma i guess? mostly watercolor pencil, some prisma marker for the background. can't be assed to rotate it the right way, sorry, lol
Tumblr media
pottery-wise, i did not take pictures but i have some fun interesting stuff in the works! biiiiig pot for my mom (got a little busted. but i think it'll make it). mug. glazing a bowl using sgraffito to carve out some waves (my roommate accidentally dinged the rim and i'm incorporating that into the design). did not take any pictures last week but i'll get some tomorrow for the next tuesdaypost.
eating: my roommate made a truly enormous focaccia in a 9x13 glass baking dish to cut into super bowl party sandwiches. they were delicious and we are still eating them for lunch basically every day. she also made a marinated beef bulgogi-type object, served over rice with veg and a fried egg and some spaghetti squash...yumb.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
misc: i can't even be like "i just have to make it through this week" because i know next week will look literally exactly like this one (homework due wednesdays for one class, fridays (plus ANOTHER assignment alternating wednesdays) for the other). really bad vibes. just gotta make it through this week this semester.

Ok, so I haven't been able to comment much on my Riverdale rewatch mostly bc i'm watching it with my boyfriend and we have an agreement of no cell phones when we're watching, otherwise we can't pay proper attention to it. But I wrote down some notes about the episodes I did watch (I watched up until ep 6, which is very ironic bc apparently today is its anniversary, so yay for my perfect timing). I actually remember most of the stuff that happened in s1, so here's mostly a few things I paid more attention to or noticed about the characters and the ships, or things i'm able to look at through a different view now that i've watched all the seasons. Strap in if you want to see my notes, if not just scroll please, no ship or character hate here please. Also, feel free to ignore, this is really just a personal look in some stuff I didn't notice in my first watch.
- Betty's character used to be much happier and lighter in season 1. I know we're introduced to "Dark Betty" right in episode 3, but still, I feel like the way Lili played Betty in season 1 did not hold the same "darkness" as it does in the following seasons. The scene where she is dancing happily in her bedroom because she's going to homecoming with the boy she likes? The scene where she introduces Jughead to the Blue & Gold and gets him to work with her? Her genuine innocent happiness at seeing her sister again after so much time? The way she interacted with Kevin and Veronica? Those were all chef's kiss because she actually feels like a teenager in them. In all her girly glory, she radiates youth energy and it's a thing that was sadly lacking after s1. Btw this is not a critique at Lili's acting at all, I blame it entirely on Ras and his obsession with dark Betty.
- There's actually so many indications of Cheryl being a lgbt character in the first episodes that I have no idea how I missed it the first time. But then again, there were many indications with Veronica as well, and sadly that's not the path Ras chose for her.
- Jughead in s1 is truly so superior in so many ways that it's not hard to see why he quickly became such a fan favorite. I think even if he wasn't played by Cole Sprouse, he still would have conquered many fans' hearts. Sadly, the things that made Jughead such a loving and interesting character for me also fizzled out in s2 when the writing team decided to make him a woke serpent leader instead of allowing him to sticking to his true personality as a passionate mystery lover, a dedicated friend and very nerdy, which was very cute. I feel that we got some of that back for him in s4, which was good, but sadly s1 is where my love for him really stayed to stay. But I still care for him, and s5 has a promising storyline for him which i'm excited about, so let's see if s5 Jughead can become better than s1 Jughead.
- Going back again to Cheryl for a sec, I just noticed that the red lipstick actually wasn't that common for her in s1? At least not in the first five. I wonder when did it start becoming her trademark? Anyways, it's actually a really good look her and allows you to appreciate Madelaine's natural beauty even more.
- Also, did anybody notice how Alice lowkey figured out who killed Jason in ep 2 lmao, like... in episode two she legit says she wouldn't be surprised if the Blossoms themselves had killed Jason, which... is what happened LMAO, considering we know it was his father. And even more hilarious and tragically ironic note, in ep 6 she's laughing at Betty suggesting that Hal killed Jason because "do you think your father has the stomach for it?!"... Ma'am... i'm-.... 😂😂😂😂.
- This rewatch has reminded me of how much I adored and how I much I miss Josie and the Pussycats. The girls were such a nice addition to the cast, and their songs were so beautiful. I truly wish we get to see them again someday, but at the same time I also think the actresses deserve to be at a work place where they're given the treatment they deserve and not completely ignored and treated like extras.
- Archie/Valerie was super cute and is very underrated in the fandom, but i'm glad Valerie stood up for herself and didn't take any of Archie's or Cheryl's sh*t. Still sucks because they were really good together, though.
- Why was Jason not allowed to talk, lmao? Like, i'm sure it's become a running joke in the show at this point, but back when season one was airing what was the excuse for it? He appeared in so many flashbacks and scenes and we still never heard a single word ☠️☠️☠️☠️. I just want to know what was the reason lol.
- I liked s1 Reggie, but I feel like Charles Melton's Reggie is better because he actually feels like a douche with good intentions lol, and he has more of a personality. Most of the time I even forgot about Reggie in s1, but after s2 he definitely made me more aware of him. So for that, I like Charles Melton's Reggie more. But the actor from s1 still did a good job with what he was given.
From now on I will be talking about the ships, so bear with me, and know that I am a multishipper. Yes, I have my preferences. No, my word is not law, it's just an opinion, so please respect it.
- Bughead is still super cute in s1. I feel like from s1 they will always be my otp, even if I no longer feel as strongly about them now and have a different insight as to where I would like their story to go, and now I definitely see the problem others had mentioned before of how they kind of took over the show, which is something I kind of closed my eyes to before... But I really loved them in s1. It felt like a very juvenile teenage relationship, they didn't give much thought on why and if they should be together, they just went for it like teenagers usually do, and they were very very cute together.
- I feel like if you don't count Beronica (because they really were the best no matter what you say or ship), if there's a ship that deserves "best chemistry" award for s1 is probably Varchie. I lost my interest in them years ago, but this rewatch reminded me of why I actually loved them once. They never really became an otp for me, but Kj and Camila's chemistry in s1 was VERY GOOD, and I really liked them. Their kiss in the pilot was electric and the s&xual tension was OOF, and that chemistry carries on through the season. You can easily tell something will happen between them eventually. It makes me sad bc I don't know what happened after s1, but their chemistry from s2 onwards was just... not there for me. Which is ironic bc it's the season they truly started dating and they got a lot of smexy scenes, but I just... didn't feel it. But I'll leave that comment to my s2 rewatch. For now just let me enjoy Varchie's chemistry in s1 while it lasts because it was really good.
- Now we get to Barchie, who I made clear was the reason for my rewatch, so let's get to it. I LOVED the way Barchie was written in s1. I remember when I first watched Riverdale, I was curious about their dynamic but didn't put much thought into it because I loved Bughead too much and wanted them to be together, and I thought Barchie would be the traditional "first og ship" thing and wouldn't have a big follow up, but boy was I WRONG and am I GLAD for it. I'll talk more about their development in the next seasons when I get there, so for now let's focus a bit on s1. Just in like the first two episodes, there is so much Barchie foreshadowing, like, it's legit insane how it was right there in my face and I missed it the first time! "I have never felt what i'm supposed to feel with betty", "it's not my fault he doesn't like you", "I can't give you the answer you want"... Omg, those are obvious eyebrow raising "this will come back to bite you in the a$$" moments and it's incredible how they actually DO! I would call it clever writing, but like... it's Riverdale lol. So I really am just glad that the ship was done this way, i'm glad Barchie has the back story that they do, they've really come a LONG way and i'm happy I get to experience their whole growing storyline. It's also especially good because s1 actually provides you with scenes that show you their friendship and how they're so close, you see them hanging out, talking, their pictures together, everything was just really done well with them. Still have a bit of critique with the way Archie contradicted himself sometimes regardinf his feelings for Betty, but let's be honest, we've watched enough Riverdale to know that's just a problem with the writing.
- Kevin/Joaquin is still my favorite Kevin ship, i'm sad it's completely impossible to go back to them someday so for now i'll just be really glad it existed and that I got to see them even if it was short-lived. They had great chemistry and their kiss scenes always outsold.
- Beronica... sigh. Beronica. The most wasted chemistry i've ever seen on CW and I've watched a LOT of CW shows. There was so much potential there, s1 was practically overflowing with them and it's one of the reasons it became some popular. I remember when the Beronica fandom was the biggest one, ah, good times. Veronica and Betty were easily the best part of season 1, their friendship, their lowkey romantic moments, they were just superior in every way. This ship deserved better, not even just as a ship, but as a friendship.
- Veronica's s1 hair >>> Veronica's hair in seasons 2-4. I loved the side part and I am glad it's back in season 5, it looks so much better like that.
- Cheryl, as always, deserves better. Can't wait for her to meet Toni so I can watch again Cheryl finally get to love someone and be loved back, which is exactly what she deserves.
For now, that is all! I will probably make another post soon when i'm done with season one and from season two on I will be live-blogging the episodes since I will be watching it alone. Once again, pls, no hate, my thoughts are my thoughts. Peace.

So I decided to watch the first episode if Inanimate Insanity Invitational (or Inaimate Insanity season 3). Here's my overall thoughts on it. Spoilers below but TL;DR: I thought it was okay, I guess. 5/10
Okay, so I'll start with the old characters that are in this season (Nickel, Box, Balloon, OJ, Paintbrush, Yin-Yang, Fan, Test Tube, and Bow). They were fine this episode. I'm kinda neutral towards all of them so I didn't really care what happened to them. I have to wonder though, will Box end up being the Planky of the show? Maybe so from the looks of it.
I have a little more to say about the newbies. But not much. I thought they were all fine. The ones I have the most to say about is Blueberry, Cabby, and Candle.
While watching the episode, whenever Blueberry was on the screen, in the back of my head all I could think of what "Puffer". Maybe it's just because I love Puffer but Blueberry acts and sounds like I think Puffer would act like in the canon of Black Heart. Please tell me I'm not alone. Also, shut up you purple-blueish man blue is an AWESOME color /lh.
Cabby I think might be the one I like the most out of everyone in the episode. I like her voice. It's nice. She didn't save the episode from being just okay to me, but I appreciate her existence. Also, does the bottom cabinet function as a stomach ooooorrrrrr.....
Candle is like if Tree hugger and Pie had a baby (wait, wouldn't Pie just be a fusion of Dough, Blueberry, and Candle? Eh, story for another day). Also, I like her colors. Also also, I kinda ship her with Silver Spoon ngl. I think the shipping fuel hits me the hardest when she says, "Come along." That, plus her expression when she says it make me kinda ship them.
And here's my thoughts on the other newbies (I know they're called "fans" in the episode but shush):
The Floor: Interesting concept. Also, his accent sounds like a mix of an Australian accent and a British one to me. Am I the only one who thinks that.
Goo: Cute design with pretty colors. Also, I like the way his mouth is drawn. I don't know how to describe it. Also, he sounds like a mix of Purple Face and Homsar. Even though I know it wasn't intentional, I just wanted to point that out for no reason.
Silver Spoon: He's fine. Nothing much to say other than what I said about him while talking about Candle. He also kinda sounds like Purple Face to me. Or maybe Pure Face somehow rotted my brain so that I think anyone who has a kinda of posh, upstanding accent (idk how to describe it) that's also kind of deep sounds like him.
Tea Kettle: Who?
Lifering: Death P.A.C.T. (Again) wants to know your location.
Clover: She's fine.
Now, is there anything about this new ep where my reaction to it was "okay" or "fine". Uhhh, hmmm... The colors look nice. Oh! And I also like this screenshot. Mostly for Yin-Yang's expression along. I like smug looks.
Tumblr media
The walkie-talkie's voice was also plesent.
Also, I have a nitpick that I also don't care about but I've noticed the animation in this seems, weird to me. Like, movement wise. I think they're using a lower frame rate and if that's what they're going for good for them for trying something new.
Lol, that's it. 5.5/10 even though you already saw my rating for the episode for the introduction to this post but whatever.

Stan for the ask meme!!
okay this got like. insanely long somehow so for everyone's sake i'm gonna put it under a cut lol
Why I like them: honestly what's not to like about Stan?? He's such a little sweetheart. He loves his friends so dearly and is an extremely compassionate person. He always wants to better himself and the world around him, and even though his plans to do that usually backfire, he still tries again and again. He's just all around a really great kid and I love him.
Why I don’t: it's not that I dislike these qualities of his, but sometimes his cynicism is too effective and it can bum me out a little. "you're getting old" and "ass burgers" are two of my favorite episodes, but damn if it isn't sad seeing Stan like that.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): jeez where do I even begin... "you're getting old", "guitar queero", "raisins", "follow that egg", "super best friends", "fun with veal", "all about mormons", "are you there god, it's me jesus", "asspen", "cash for gold", "the cissy", "trapped in the closet"... okay I'll stop lmao
Favorite season/movie: hmm it's hard to pick because Stan is obviously such a central character and I have a LOT of favorite episodes across the seasons, but I'd say either seasons five, six or nine!! I think I have the most amount of favorites from those seasons.
Favorite line: I really love this quote from "the biggest douche in the universe": At first I thought you were all just stupid, listening to this douche's advice, but now I understand that you're all here because you're scared. You're scared of death and he offers you some kind of understanding. You all want to believe in it so much, I know you do. You find comfort in the thought that your loved ones are floating around trying to talk to you, but think about it: Is that really what you want? To just be floating around after you die, having to talk to this asshole? We need to recognize this stuff for what it is: magic tricks. Because whatever's really going on in life and in death is much more amazing than this douche.
Favorite outfit: his fuzzy metrosexual hat is really cute. I think about it a lot lmao. I'm also cliche and LOVED goth Stan and I'd like to see him make a comeback
OTP: style!! They're just too cute.
Brotp: Stan and Kenny's friendship is very cute, and funny as hell sometimes. They have their little moments of sweetness. Stan and Wendy have a good brotp too when they aren't dating, like in "the list". I'd love to see more of them like that, even if they're dating. They're just cool tbh
Head Canon: I think I already said the poetry headcanon so here's another one in the same "Stan is talented" category: Stan's a pretty great musician!! he keeps up the guitar as he ages, and learns to play the piano. He buys a little keyboard when he's in high school and he spends hours just practicing because he loves it. He doesn't really write music very often, but instead he focuses on teaching himself the classics because he finds them very calming.
Unpopular opinion: lmao okay so I actually love the extremely overexposed trope of depressed and/or alcoholic Stan. It kinda makes me sad that it's so hated, but I get why people dislike it. I do agree that sometimes it's done in ways that I don't care for and it can become... fetish-y, for lack of a better word. But overall?? I really like it. I think it's interesting and relatable and it's a guilty pleasure trope of mine. Sometimes reading a fic about depressed, self-sabotaging Stan is a comfort tactic 🤧
A wish: not to contradict myself here but. please let Stan be happy!!!! he is so miserable and unhappy and sad lately :( he deserves so much better.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: honestly with post-covid I feel like the worst has already happened to him fkdjkfg so. that, I suppose. I just want him to be happy and make amends with his friends and his family and lead a happy life alright
5 words to best describe them: compassionate, friendly, endearing, determined and talented!!
My nickname for them: STAAAAN DAARSSH
