Another one of Putin's warships is now sleeping with the fishes. 🐟
The Ukrainian military says it has destroyed a large Russian landing ship in the Black Sea off the coast of occupied Crimea in a combined operation of the armed forces and military intelligence. "The armed forces of Ukraine together with the military intelligence (HUR) have destroyed the Tsezar Kunikov, a large landing ship belonging to the occupiers," the General Staff of Ukraine's military said on February 14. It said the vessel was struck by naval drones off the coast near the settlement of Alupka. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declined to comment on the Ukrainian claim, which could not be independently confirmed immediately. But the pro-war Rybar Telegram channel, which is close to the Russian Defense Ministry, confirmed the attack, although without providing details. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy commented on the operation in his nightly video address. "Today, more security in the Black Sea and more motivation for our people were added. This is important. And step by step, we will clear the Black Sea of Russian terrorist objects," Zelenskiy said. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg was asked earlier on February 14 about the strike on the Tsezar Kunikov at a news conference in Brussels. Stoltenberg did not confirm the strike on the landing ship but hailed the progress made by Ukraine in pushing away Russia's fleet from the western part of the Black Sea.
The Tsezar Kuniko was sunk off the coast of Alupka near the southern tip of Russian-occupied Crimea. About 24 Russian warships have now been sunk or damaged beyond repair by Ukraine.

Vacation by Vopli Vidopliasova. I love this song so much. It is associated with pre-russian invasion times to me. Lyrics:
I'm floating with my thoughts, one-on-one, I'm not my own
Dreams carry me away like I'm being a petal
I flip through magazines, charm-tours, seducing prices
And the dream-for vacation is almost-almost here
[The sun warms my face - it makes me happy
I love you-u, vacation
Those magical velvet days are
To my liking]
Let the frosts pass, let there be unbearable heat
Let me spend the money on cocktails
Foam is bubbling over seas, seagulls call, dolphins play
You won't see such beauty in a model
[Chorus]
We heard about Miami, but Azov welcomes us
Shatsky lakes call, Alupka attracts
And the waves engulfed us - we are heroes at once, ahov
Our boat goes further in the glow of the spray
[Chorus]
The body is carried by the wave - everything pleases
I choose you-u, vacation
Soon, those fiery days
Will be given to me [by vacation]

One of the most recent victims of the Magura V5 was the Russian patrol vessel Sergei Kotov, which BBC News reported was sunk by the naval drones on March 5th based on reports from Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR).

On May 6th, Group 13 used a Magura V5 to destroy a Russian high-speed boat while on a mission in Crimea’s Uzka Bay according to Ukraine's state-run media outlet Ukrianiform, which reported on a statement from the GUR.

As the fear of Ukrainian attacks forces the invaders to redeploy their Black Sea Fleet’s larger ships farther away from the peninsula, combat work continues against the high-speed vessels illegally remaining in the Ukrainian territorial waters of Crimea," the GUR noted.

Ukrainian forces have destroyed a large Russian naval vessel off the occupied Crimean peninsula, Kiev's military claims.
A Ukrainian news channel published several videos showing a column of smoke over the sea off the southern coast of Crimea, as well as helicopters flying over the sea.
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces, together with the intelligence unit of the Ministry of Defense, destroyed the large landing ship Tsezar Kunikov,” the military said. “She was in Ukrainian territorial waters near Alupka at the time of impact.”
This comes as the Ukrainian military warned that Vladimir Putin's troops have advanced along "the entire front line" in Ukraine, while Kiev has been forced to switch to defensive operations, the country's armed forces have warned.
The new commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that the situation was "difficult" and that his goal now was to exhaust the Russian advance. “At the moment the situation can be considered difficult. “The enemy is now advancing almost along the entire front line and we have switched from offensive to defensive operations,” Syrskyj told ZDF.

🏰 Vorontsov Palace - One of the most popular places in Crimea among tourists, along with Massandra, Livadia Palace and Swallow's Nest.
📍 The Vorontsov Palace is located in Alupka, 15 km from Yalta.
⚒ The palace was built of diabase (a volcanic rock with properties stronger than granite) in the English Gothic style.
60,000 servants and soldiers worked on its construction for 20 years (from 1828 to 1848).
9 million silver rubles were spent.
🏯 In 1921 the palace became a museum, but during the Great Patriotic War it was looted.
The amount of damage was estimated at 5 million rubles.
In 1956, a museum was reopened in the castle, and since 1990 the Alupka Palace and the Park Museum-Reserve have been located here.
🌳 The palace is surrounded by a centuries-old park, which contains 200 species of trees and exotic plants.
