i see a lot of predictions for season 3, so i figured i'll throw my hat in the rink, i truly need the season 1 crew, ie Adam and the Them, Anethama and Newton and so forth, to at least cameo or to actually play a part of it! that combining with the season 2 crew, the whole street but espeshelly Nina and Maggie!! as these are all of the humans who are now awear of the existance of angels and demons and i thinj the potencial interactions there alone would be gold, they can all save the world together while being rightfully pissed off about the whole thing. i still want a new cast of characters for the new season of course, but i truly want all of the characters of this wonderfull univerce they made to at least fiture at the grand finale of this story

OK IM ANSWERING ASKS!! open for some delightful streamer au headcanons
Anonymous asked:
ohh y'all mentioned how crowley / aziraphale would react to edits and ... oh god the chaos of a media share stream crowley would ABSOLUTELY be swarmed with simping clips, no matter how good he thinks he is at copyright striking oh and song requests after singing reveal oh ANDDD things in French that are just. vile (complementary) he would probably not do media shares for a looooooong while after that lmao
this has such chat jukebox energy oh my god. i love media streams, they're insanity, which makes them perfect for crowley.
and poor sod, when he finally thinks he's escaped the last of the simp clips, chat starts sending him seemingly "innocuous" songs to play. good old fashioned lover boy. pale blue eyes. a nightingale sang. HMMM there seems to be a theme here........
@genderlessjacky asked:
okay okay "How Long Can We Protect Aziraphale From Dying game" is amazing , love it , no criticisms at all . but what if we go the other way Aziraphale is a GOD at COD or Halo or whatnot lets just say before he became a cozy streamer , he used to play like a crapton of shooter games when he was younger or when they came out and played them for YEARS in his younger ages until he got bored and started baking and reading and stuff , discovered it was his passion and continues doing it , streams it ectect and when this happens everyone expects like "Omg he is gonna get killed in the first 5 seconds but ends up carrying the entire team to victory and everyone is like "WHAT." so confused that this innocent , plump old angelic man who cooks and reads and barates anyone who swears , got 20 kills in a row in COD?? while not swearing and barating anyone in chat who does?? is my life a lie???????? Bonus : Crowley , Anathama and Newton had no knowledge of this. at all. like he just assumed that they already knew he was really good at this and when they ask him ab it he goes like "hm? i thought you already knew?" and the others going "WELL CLEARLY NOT."
aziraphale is a man of many talents 😂 i personally can't picture him enjoying games that revolve around killing and hurting people, but i love when he can constantly surprise everyone and crowley with out of pocket talents and hobbies ehehehe
Anonymous asked:
I would like to suggest the Western Hognose as a most patient and cuddly snake to be delivered during snake delivery, they are funky little tubes with no neck and cute upturned snoots
UGH THEY'RE SO CUTE I WANNA KISS EM. i drew crowley's snake as a big black python but now i can't stop imagining him with a little guy that hides up his sleeve while he games and is small enough that people might not notice it immediately......... aziraphale's hand reaching into frame with a guy wrapped around it, and they just kind of sit there half holding hands while they wait for the snake to slither from one wrist to another.
Anonymous asked:
Your art inspires a hc…. Someone (Crowley, probably) gets Aziraphale a pair of purple round glasses and when the do streams together they match
omg aziraphale with blue light glasses that look like his little reading glasses from the show 🥺
@samsteacup asked:
So Streamer AU won't leave my mind. So I gotta share this. I understand if you don't put it into your ff, it's your story but your followers might enjoy it. :D 1. Aziraphale collaborates in Crowley's stream where they wanna play a game. (some shooter) and they set up Aziraphale character together but Aziraphale spends way too long to perfect him. Crowley is all patient and all and then when they start playing Aziraphale just can't handle the controls for the love of god. So Crowley helps him and it's a fucking disaster, he's furiously protecting Aziraphale in game while simultaneously trying to explain to him what to do. But Crowley is incredibly patient, even when they lose because Aziraphale accidentally shoots someone from their own team. The chat loses it because he usually is so short tempered in streams. Aziraphale is still a bit overwhelmed and frustrated that he completely ignores the chat. Which is good because people are shipping them to death and writing the wildest (naughtiest) theories of what already happened to make Crowley so gentle and patient. So Crowley just bans them all. 2. Another collaboration but this time on Aziraphale's channel. They are baking Christmas cookies together while talking about the holidays, gift buying, songs and other cute traditions/Christmas memories. While preparing the dough Crowley is a bit too aggressive while kneeding the wet with the dry ingredients and he gets a cloud of flour into his face. Aziraphale chuckles and cleans his face with some wash cloth. They continue baking and having a great time. Though Crowley constantly steals the leftover dough from Aziraphale, after he punches out the forms with the cutter. While waiting for the cookies to bake and cool, they start making the icing and drink wine. Crowley kinda overdoes it with the wine and gets a bit tipsy. So at some point he just dips his finger in icing and holds it to Aziraphale's face, who gets all flustered but eventually eats the icing of Crowley's finger. (Which will definitely not end up a GIF that forever haunts both of them in their streams) When they finally start icing the cookies, Crowley is not just tipsy anymore but properly drunk. So half of the Santa cookies get penises or boobs or both. And Aziraphale just rolls his eyes, says "You're being silly" (yes, exactly in that voice!) and takes away the wine from Crowley.
what the fuck im so FED
crowley switching on his patience to help aziraphale in a new situation like 😭 "i won't leave you on your own"
IT SOUNDS LIKE CROWLEY JUST STRAIGHT UP FORGETS THEY'RE LIVE and gets caught up just havin a fun time oh my lord!! 😭😭😭
@squirrellegion26 asked:
hiiiiii hi hi SIR IM ADDRESSING UR STREAMER AU. im in love with itttttt buttt what if what if what if crowley’s head pops up in one of azi’s streams like a frickin cat over the counter and chat is like “ohhh myyy goodness he’s adorable!!!” and azi’s like “oh, hello, my dear” and then crowley’s like “see ya peace” and then slinks back to whatever dark hole he slithered out of anyway SO MUCH LOVE TO UR AU I LOVE IT I CANT WAIT UNTIL UR FIC COMES OUT I LOVE U OKAY BYR

I just found your good omens streamer au and I'm instantly obsessed, I love the concept and ideas so much. This scenario instantly came into my head aswell and I wanted to share!! Like Crowley just did a really long stream and wants to go sleep and doesn't end up fully stopping the stream by accident, so the viewers see him after he thinks he ended stream and he just calls out "Angel, I need hugs now" and just walks off without knowing the stream is still going. And everyone in chat goes crazy trying to let anyone know the stream is still going but also with the fact they saw Crowley switch to his soft side so quickly!! And either Anathema calls Crowley to tell him it's still going and he runs back cursing to turn it off... OR...Aziraphale goes into the room to maybe collect the mug of coffee he made for Crowley and finds the stream still going and the chat going MAD over it trying to get his attention but also freaking out that it's Aziraphale.
oh lord have mercy on m for all this second hand anxiety but
you GOT ME with the mask switching from streamer mode to soft tired angel hugs mode, i'm punching myself in the face
i imagine that footage of aziraphale walking onto crowley's room for mug collection is like cryptid footage that occasionally circulates the gossip subreddits even after crowley has deleted the vod
Anonymous asked:
i literally just found your streamer AU and i have read EVERY MORSEL YOU HAVE ABOUT IT. i am so excited to read the fic when you’re finished with it! all i can think about is Aziraphale sliding things under Crowleys door if its locked while he’s streaming. and its the most random things every time, and of course it gets turned into a compilation posted somewhere. i just think that idea is silly. AGAIN I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS AND EVERYTHING YOU SHARE ABOUT IT!! 💕
hthfph THANK YOU FOR SHARING HEADCANONS i mean it, it's so fun and silly and i love that everyone is getting into this together ✨

Working title is "Aziraphale is going to get a good grade in sex, something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve"
"So!" Aziraphale said, plopping himself down in the chair opposite. "Urophilia."
Crowley glowered at him from behind the safety of his third-best sunglasses and his mug.* He hadn't slept last night — he rarely wanted to, these days — yet it was somehow still too early for this. "No," he attempted.
"I know we neither of us go in for the more, er, granular human bodily functions," said Aziraphale, without even the slightest hint of listening. Crowley took a certain amount of comfort in the fact that he still found this annoying as — well, his former employer's residence. He'd worried, in a vague sort of way, that if Aziraphale came back and they worked things out, became a proper us, that he'd start thinking everything Aziraphale did was wonderful. But even true love had its limits, thank — well, his other former employer's residence. "Did I ever tell you, I tried defecating once? Terribly awkward business, I had to make an anus and everything. But Cicero was very obliging in teaching me about the stick."**
Conversations with Aziraphale tended to fall into one of three categories. Either he was humming away in his default cheeriness, in which case he'd burble happily along with whatever Crowley said for hours on end; or he was in a pet about something, in which case he'd be drier than the desert outside Eden and Crowley'd be lucky to escape without injury to his pride or person. Or he was like this, in which case Crowley's participation was purely decorative.
Still, they were getting some stares. Nina hadn't started tutting yet, but she would do soon. "I'm not pissing on you," he said, firm. "And vice versa."
"Oh, all right," Aziraphale huffed, pulling out his spectacles and wrapping the temple tips fussily around his ears. He peered down at the magazine he'd apparently brought with him; even from here, Crowley could see some illustrations. They were… illustrative.
"What," he said with the conviction that he would regret it, "Is that?"
"It's 'Kinks and Fetishes: An A to Z Guide,'" Aziraphale said, handing it over with all the glee of a dog showing off a rotted tennis ball it had found in the back garden. "I've been doing more research, you see. Apparently, there's all sorts of sex we could be getting up to. I truly had no idea there were so many—" he waved his other hand around vaguely. "Configurations."
"Does Glamour have a print edition anymore?" Crowley asked, thumbing through the pages. There were a lot of illustrations.
"Not as such," Aziraphale admitted. "But Muriel found it for me on the World Wide Web—"
"Don't call it that," Crowley sighed.
"—and you know how I dislike reading off of those… screens," he continued, making a moue of distaste. "So I made my own proof copy, as it were."
Under "Tentacles," there was a stern reminder that you shouldn't have sex with octopuses.*** "Angel," he started, then paused. "Vicarphilia?"
"I thought it was something to do with priests and things, but apparently not," Aziraphale said, leaning over the table to point out the next one. "What about whipping?"
"No fetishes that I could've done professionally," Crowley decided firmly, shutting the magazine. He waved it away, out to the Tadfield Library where Anathama would probably find it and laugh for a week, then try at least a half-dozen of them out on poor Newt.
* Nina had set one aside for him after a while, since he didn't mind the permanent stains that had developed along the inside. "Pretty sure those are scorchmarks, actually," she'd complained. "On the outside. What did you do to it?"
** Roman public toilets were aptly named — men would gather to have a bowel movement and a chat, cleaning themselves off with a sponge on the end of a length of wood. Hence the phrase, "Getting the wrong end of the stick," something decidedly less pleasant when taken out of its metaphor.
*** Accompanied by a picture of a young woman doing exactly that.

Propaganda:
Anathema (m): Themmy did nothing wrong ever. Literally what a cutie, short redhead with freckles?? I need to kiss him on the lips. I miss him.
Elena Ortega: A late edition to the tournament who already won her round zero debut into the tournament with a large margin. Everybody loves a milf! Elena Ortega is the mother of the hottest Los Diablos' resident. Those genes had to come from somewhere.

Tying together the big miracle energy, the weird out of character behavior, and the time jumps
Originally I was going to say that they switched places multiple times, because the clock during the kiss and the bentley at the end seem to point to that, but that does not make sense: the bentley would not have changed if they swapped early on, it would have been Crowley in the bentley when it changed who thus would not have changed it; demons don't have demon-dissolving halos to throw so they can't be swapped at that point; the bentley actually changed its interior and 2-to-4-door style as Az was driving it, and stayed that way after that scene, it did not only change in that last scene at the end.
So that's out. But they do still behave out of character, starting right after the Jim hiding miracle. What gives, if they aren't swapped?
OG Crowley is dramatic, but he's emotionally dramatic, he doesn't fling himself around the room or gratituously talk with his hands like Az does. Az is notoriously a hand talker, but he's weirdly restrained this season? Like good angels should be. Crowley walks away from Az during the first Job flashback, while Az is paging through whatever bible/diary/book he's looking at--but Crowley always waits! He doesn't here.
Again, this is not evidence they've swapped bodies. This is evidence that they're behaving out of character. Az also only ever drinks the sherry in the pub, but nothing else the entire season: not the eccles cakes, not his own appetizers at the meeting.
After the hiding miracle, Crowley says something a little odd: "That was a class A surreptitious half a miracle. No one will have noticed a thing". That's not the kind of language he uses? Az talks olde timey like that, Crowley's usually more "no one could have seen that". Perhaps they are rubbing off on each other though. Later when Az asks Maggie about the song, she starts crying, and he reacts with confusion, when just the previous day he was easily comforting her when she was in a torrent of tears. Crowley is also the jumper when startled, established in the first scene he meets Jim; Az does not jump; and yet right after hiding Jim, Jim easily startles Az simply by walking up to him. This does not make sense. What is the point????
Az also does things like throwing down books at the demons, giving books away, and being surprised that Crowley came back despite just having told Nina that Crowley loves rescuing him. You don't say that and then be surprised he came to rescue you. Az also is pretty terrible at talking to people this whole season except for the first meeting with Maggie, aka before the big miracle energy--which isn't normal, because we've seen him talk to people easily last season: talking to Anathama after they hit her with the Bentley, talking to Maggie as she said she would leave due to unpaid rent, calming people down during the demon attack on the shop, talking to people in the flashbacks even though he does screw things up--that's not being bad at talking to people, that's treating people badly because of his beliefs.
What has the huge miracle to do with all this? It's over the entire shop, it's not just summon-circle-shaped, it is rectangular shop shaped. Enhance, and you can see the circle within the purple beam.
Tumblr media
I think someone else cast a miracle on the shop, or did one in the shop, that affects not only our heroes but also the entire present. And thus altered people's recollection of the past.
What was the miracle for? Prepping for Jesus, putting people back in line with God's wants, erasing pesky things that would make it really hard to get Az to work with heaven. I think it was Metatron. It would explain why he's so pissy with Crowley and seems unbothered by Az having worked with Crowley in the past--he's already stacked the deck and knows what's going to happen when he asks Az to come up.
It explains why the miracle was so powerful, and why Crowley and Az didn't know they did it.....because they didn't. It also explains why Metatron wouldn't let them miracle a solution for finding Gabriel, because the twat already had other plans--he couldn't have Michael running the show, so he buys time by making the angels hunt physically. It's half a day, maybe, from when Jim shows up to when they miracle-hide him. But if you have the power of altering the past and present to set up your coup, you have all the time in the world to lay your plans so long as you throw your wrench in early enough.
How does Metatron do it? If the rules of etiquette work as they traditionally have, then Metatron was invited into the shop back in s1 when Az called him. He's never had to leave, because once invited, that can't be revoked--as we saw in s2 with the demons.
This would explain why people aren't seen paying for anything in the present, but we do see people paying for stuff in the past and in s1. This is why Az doesn't eat in the present, and only has a single sherry outside the shop, why the eccles cakes seem to have disappeared. Metatron/God does not like these things: money is dirty, eating sullies the temple of your body. Etc.
And also perhaps why the shop chairs, clock and rugs are different than in s1, although I don't know if that's because the shop can change according to Az's will just like the Bentley does for Crowley. Perhaps the chair and the clock reflect Crowley's hair, hence the pointyness and redness? The new chair is patterned with roses and gold. I don't have an explanation for the portal rugs, other than maybe they're shittier because Az is growing farther from heaven.
I think the missing time we see in the present, as gets EXTRA obvious after Crowley gets back from heaven in s2e6 and we can see the clock in the shop but does show up as early as the apology dance, is because of Metatron's miracle to edit events to his liking. In the past, this results in shaky cam; in the present, it's simply missing time, because there are no memories of it when you're doing it as it happens, so there is nothing it can affect in the "future". The present shows up as deleted time; those who lost their memories, have nothing, and those who do remember what happened retain "true" reality but don't know why their buddies are acting weird.
The shaky cam is the effects of edits to those memories, thus making them unstable, hence the shaking. It's not just that one of them is nervous or upset during those times, because it shakes when we see Furfur too, before they know he's there. It is also clearly not the result of earthquake or big booms in the scene, aka Watsonian shaking, because the characters do not react to this shaking at all, like they did in s1 when Crowley stopped time and stuff shook. There's the most shaking in 1941 because the cumulative edits are adding up, making the memory unstable, OR it's because that's where the most edits are because that's a "core memory" anchoring their relationship. There's shakes in the resurrectionists too, briefly in a few spots. Before the Beginning also has shakes, the whole scene is bookended by shakes, but they appear to be caused by the nebula starting up--or are they? Or are the shakes/edits being hidden in the floaty bouncy nature of the lack of solid ground, so the person remembering the memory doesn't notice them? The Job flashback also has shakes, during Crowley tempting Az to eat, during their subsequent conversation about "going along as far as you can"--no one stumbles, unlike when they all fall through the floor to the cellar. These particular two are supposedly during a huge storm, but the ground isn't what's shaking, neither character loses their footing. It's not a....Watsonian shake.
The shakes could also be attempts and failures to edit those memories, or they could indicate a recovered memory--a shaky memory is a painful memory, and would explain why it hurts to remember things that were wiped from your mind. Naturally Metatron would want to edit the most powerful memories Crowley and Az have, one of which we know is the 1941 memory. But powerful memories are also ones you'd be motivated to hold on to the most, the hardest to erase, perhaps the easiest to regain, perhaps the easiest to notice the furniture has been moved. So it's the most gain, but also the most risk of being found out by the target.
In the present, the missing time is:
a bunch of time around the apology dance and the Jim hiding miracle;
the night of the attack on the shop--there wasn't nearly enough time for that to be a whole 12 hours, but we don't know where the missing time itself is because there aren't any markers;
between Gabriel opening the fly memories and the next time we see the shop, there's ~45 minutes passing on the shop clock that don't make sense there because only two minutes of show time happen; were they all standing around gawping at each other in silence?
and when Crowley takes Nina and Maggie out as everyone argues in the shop, when he gets back from merely stepping outside for a second, another hour and 20-40 min has passed, you see a frame of the clock at 30:27 but it's not clear where the minute hand is; this is when Maggie says she's going for milk
20min seems to pass between then and the demons leaving, which seems too much given it's two minutes of real time; this is when Maggie gets back from "going to the shop for milk"--two hours for a simple errand???; here we see a proper 9am on the clock in the shop;
the next missing time is during the kiss, where between the start and end the clock jumps 10 minutes from 925 to 935;
and finally between the time when Crowley leaves and Metatron enters, when the clock jumps from 935 to 945.
Speaking of weird stuff, if you look at the people when Crowley is doing his lightning tantrum, all of them are also looking at him, but not before Nina says "look at him". Either everyone can see him, so it's not just N&M who are weird around miracles here, or everyone can only see it because Nina said so.
Here is Crowley's watch at time marker 4854 ep6, from when he's standing outside the shop watching Az be indecisive in front of the elevator. I did some terrible editing to see the hands better, because this style of watch is a bitch to read, and it seems to say it's 925--the flippy thing on the 3 is the decoration on the face not the hand, IMO. The last time we saw on the shop clock before this shot was 935, again with the hour hand in the wrong spot. When the shop clock said 925, that just before the kiss.
Tumblr media
This means Crowley is missing both the ten minute jump from 925 to 935 within the shop during the kiss, and the ten minute jump after the end when Metatron walks in from then to 945. That doesn't make sense because cutting time out would make time jump forward, not be behind. I think I'm reading the watch wrong but I can't see any other time that makes sense. 945 might make sense? That would line up with the correct amount of time lost in the shop too, and that would mean they did not stop time during the kiss because it matches with the shop clock.
The time missing starts way too early for that to be due only to Crowley stopping time; someone else is messing with it, because nobody reacts to the missing time. The problem with Crowley or Az changing the clocks is that....Crowley wears a traditional watch this season, he knows how analogue clocks work, he would not make the hands be wrong if he was doing it. Ditto Az, it's his clock. And if it was merely stopped and started time, the clock wouldn't have its hands in the wrong place, would it? It starts off perfectly fine at 6am. Crowley checks his watch multiple times during this season, so either he doesn't notice the hour hand is wrong or he actually doesn't know how to read a watch. The other weird time thing is that Nina's shop doe s not have any hours posted, anywhere, and yet everyone seems to know when she opens. We are dealing with someone who isn't familiar with clocks trying to move people along to a certain "time" they should be at, or flat out deleting "time"/memories. Who isn't familiar with human time, but can make it "disappear"? Metatron.
What was going on during all that weird time, especially in s2e6? Were they perhaps talking about why Beez did what she did, and what love felt like, why Armageddon couldn't happen? Metatron would be invested in having no memories of that anywhere. We've already seen heaven hates friendships and supportive relationships. Perhaps Crowley did go back to Az after the kiss and try to explain things, and that's why he wasn't visibly too upset, why he drove off so slowly, because he thought Az was coming back and was just waiting for him so they could enact their joint plan. Maybe something else happened during the kiss, maybe they solved their different exactlys problem, and Metatron can't have that. Metatron's edits deleted any or all of that, so now Crowley remembers being rejected, stiffed, and Az thinks Crowley just walked out, and never came back like he usually does.
What do we know? Regular angels can't erase memories via their usual method if the angel is on earth; it's unknown if they can erase demons, presumably since they can only erase things that are in heaven, they can't touch demons unless they're also in heaven. (This implies that all current demons had their memories wiped before the Fall.) This means that angels can hide themselves if they are on earth, a la this whole season. We also know that selective memories can be wiped, in that one person can be affected in an event but not the others there--Furfur and Crowley in battle. Furfur has reality, Crowley does not.
We see Az flat out refusing the Metatron's offer. We see him going to talk to Crowley. We see him struggling to tell Metatron no after the fight. All this meddling and Az still almost doesn't play along.
This would also mean that the book of life isn't real, it's just miracles by Metatron, and he's apparently orders of power greater than even the mightiest of archangels. That's why the book wasn't invoked during the war in heaven, because it either doesn't exist or doesn't have that kind of power, it all relies on scare tactics with the real power being a single ultrapowerful angel, who while superpowerful, is still not as omnipotent as the rumored book.
But.
Nothing in heaven can change if you've got someone going round undoing your changes right behind you, you just end up running in circles. Like Jim and Crowley undoing each other's organizing. Especially when you don't even know it's happening.

Good Omens Season 2 - Overall Review
You know every now and then its nice to step outside of the echo chamber and get a fresh perspective on things. I've been looking at some negative reviews for GOS2 this evening after some critical comments came across my dash which was a surprise at first because my dash has otherwise been filled with GOS2 love and adoration (if perhaps also some odd theories floating around).
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it made me really consider mine, so I decided to write it down. I know I still have episode reviews for eps 2-6 to write up, which I will get to, but I needed to get this off my chest first. This is generally just a reaction post outlining all the things I liked and didn't like about GOS2. Under a cut because looooong.
I hadn't read the Good Omens book before I watched Season 1. I watched that show completely blind and my main reason for watching at the time was because
a) I'm always going to be a little bit in love with David Tennant and so watch absolutely everything he is in always no matter how horrible (Des was a particularly hard watch)
b) I had heard that GO was partially some of the original inspiration for Supernatural and I'll be a Supernatural slut til the end of time.
c) I love all things fantasy and it genuinely looked like a great show.
Whilst I loved the first season, the thing I loved about it, was Aziraphale and Crowley. I also very much enjoyed the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the Angels and Demons, and Anathama and Madam Tracey as characters.
I hated the kids. They were bloody awful and on every rewatch I have done in the past few years I have had to skip over their scenes. I find them completely unwatchable. I found Newt to be boring and Shadwell a pain in the ass. I don't find that particular brand of misogyny funny so his scenes are also just painful for me. I loathed the fact that he ended up with Madam Tracey in the end, AND that she changed who she was completely for him. What the FUCK was that all about?
Anyway, now that that is off my chest, the point I am making is that the only thing I really enjoyed about Good Omens was Crowley and Aziraphales love story plus a few of the awesome female characters they had helping them. I also enjoyed the quirky narration by God which I think had a distinctly Douglas Adam's feel to it (which I believe was the vibe Terry and Neil were going for at the time).
I have always been of the opinion that it was GOs faithfullness to the book which let it down. I read the book after watching the show and whilst it was a good book, it dragged on in parts, spent too long focusing on the kids, and Aziraphale and Crowley weren't quite as lovable in book format as they were brought to life by DT and MS. To me, the book was a 6/10, the show a 7/10. I was a fan of AziraCrow and their love story. I did not, and have not ever, believed they were "canon" in season 1 (though i was loathed to admit this due to the rabidity of the fandoms insistence that they were - which was spurred on by Gaiman much to his own detriment).
So when GOS2 came around I had no expectations that it would kick off with AziraCrow being all lovey dovey and shacked up - having confessed their love and living together as life partners - as I genuinely believe some GO fans expected to be the case - after all these are the fans that insisted it was canon in season 1! Surely that means they'll be together in season 2 right?
Well obviously that wasn't the case. First mistake for Neil Gaiman - maybe don't spend 4 years trying to convince your fanbase that these characters are already together and in love if you are going to write a whole second season revolving around the fact that they still aren't together.
I was also really worried when GOS2 was announced that they'd bring back the bloody kids, and Shadwell, and the other season 1 characters. I was very much relieved when I heard that wasn't the case. As much as I enjoyed Madam Tracey, she was ruined at the end of S1, and as much as I liked Anathama, I was very aware that her story was over the moment she burned the new prophecy book.
So going into Season 2, I was expecting and hoping for a few things:
The romantic development of AziraCrow from friends to lovers
More time with the angels and demons
A fun lesbian side story
Technically, I got all three things.
I am aware that GOS2 has its flaws. It's pacings a bit dodgy, and I do find some of the dialogue a bit jarring particularly in the Maggie and Nina scenes. The entire season has this slightly saccharine quality to it where I feel like if I watch it too many times too quickly I'll get sick from the sweetness. There needed to be a little bit more gruesomeness and angst to counteract all that sugar - Zombie Nazi's notwithstanding.
The Maggie and Nina mirrors to Aziraphale and Crowley were more heavy handed than in a season 8 MOTW episode of Supernatural. I've made that joke before, but it still stands. I wish that Neil had been a bit more subtle with it. As much as I like Maggie and Nina, they could have used a bit more development and a bit of distance from Zira and Crowley. I did find the scene where they sit down with Crowley at the end to basically tell him to get his shit together and tell Zira how he feels like something out of a fangirls dream. Does anyone remember that really OTT gay Hallmark style Christmas movie that came out last year? Single All The Way? Gods, when I first watched that movie I thought it was sweet, but it was so obviously taken from fanfiction that I couldn't take it seriously (I say this as someone who adores fanfiction and has huge respect for fanfiction writers - but we all start somewhere, and its usually as a teenager writing really sappy YAOI and that's what I feel inspired Single All The Way - side note: Trixie and Katya's review of Single All The Way is one of the funniest things I've ever watched, nothing like watching two drag queens absolutely destroy queer media that was absolutely NOT written with gay men in mind)). Anyway, I mention SATW because there is a scene towards the end of the movie where two teenage girls sit the protagonist down and tell him that he's an idiot who is clearly in love with his best friend and he should go confess his love before its too late.
Look I'm sure we've all had that fantasy. I know I did when it came to Destiel for years. Nothing better than picturing myself standing in the bunker shaking Dean Winchester by the shoulders yelling at him to go kiss Castiel because goddammit that angel needs to know he's loved!
It's a great fantasy. But I DO NOT want to EVER see it played out for real in ANY media. When I realised that this was exactly what was happening in GOS2 I curled up into a ball and screamed into my hands, and not in a good way. That was... bad. Someone slap Neil on the wrist for that terrible decision. There were a dozen better ways they could have explained the AziraCrow miscommunication issue.
Having said all this, everything else about GOS2 I adored. There is criticism about the minisodes. Sure, they are totally expansions on the popularity of Season 1's episode 3 opener, and are rather self indulgent and not really connected to the main Gabriel mystery, but they are each of them an absolute blast. They dig deeper into AziraCrow's relationship and help to understand a bit more of their dynamic and the underlying issues that they have been facing for their entire friendship.
I totally understand where people may criticise the Gabriel/Beelzebub romance coming out of left field as well. It was totally unexpected and yeah, sure, Gabriel was basically the villain of season 1, so I can understand the irritation and him getting to have a happy ever after love story when he has never even apologised to Zira. But I gotta be honest, I don't really care. I thought it was hilarious and a fun twist as well as well as a much more subtle narrative mirror to AziraCrow than Maggie and Nina were. You can accuse Neil of taking that idea from fans if you want, its totally possible that he came across some ineffable beurocracy fanart and thought huh, that could be fun. But I don't care if he did, or if it did come to him completely separately to the fans. I never shipped them, but I find it hilarious in the same way I find the Dean/Crowley ship in SPN hilarious. That went canon too, much to the horror of the entire SPN fandom. NO ONE ASKED FOR DROWLEY and yet they inflicted it on us anyway... I'll never quite get over that fact.
As for Aziraphale's characterisations. I disagree with everyone who says he was out of character. I love that he's still struggling with the idea of not being part of heaven. I love that he is still dealing with the millennia of abuse and brainwashing and manipulation. I love that he still hasn't quite grasped the tyranny and institutional corruption at Heaven's heart. I found the end of season 1 to be very satisfying in a lot of ways (other than the lack of handholding in the Ritz) but when I really think about it, Season 1 really doesn't resolve Zira's issues with Heaven. He get's discorporated, decides he doesn't want to fight, goes back to Earth and then he's dealing with the apocalypse and he never actually has any communication with Heaven again after that, because it's Crowley who goes to Heaven in his place and witnesses just how cruel they are (at least Hell gave Crowley a trial).
Nothing happens at the end of season 1 that could be enough to break him away from 6000 years of cult-like indoctrination. He still puts it down to a few bad angels. He never actually talks to God, and whilst the Metatron disappoints him, its very easy to believe that Zira would change his mind after receiving a few kind words, and the promise of restoring Crowley to full angelhood.
Crowley was perfect throughout the entire season. 10/10. No notes. Absolutely utter perfection. Outstanding performance from DT, I laughed, I cried, I wept, I desperately want to hug Crowley and let him cry on my shoulder for an entire night.
Other things I adored about the season include the entirety of episode 5 The Ball. My fave episode. It was so silly and adorable and funny. The entire "Seamstress" conversation had me rolling with laughter. Shout out to Donna Preston (Our girl Despair) who absolutely stole every scene she was in. Miranda Richardson shines as Shax (an excellent choice to recast her as a new character after the butchering of Madam Tracey's character at the end of S1). I think Muriel was a bit underutilised but still loved their wide eyed innocence and naivity.
The biggest thing I think was missing was Francis McDormand's narration as God. They brought her back for episode 2 for a very minor role, I don't understand why Neil couldn't have just had God narrate it again, with more Douglas Adams crossed with Monty Python style sequences of explanation (the angels dancing on the head of a pin is one of my absolute favourite moments in all of season 1). I presume that God's narration in S1 was to ensure the books more abstract explanations got faithfully adapted, but I wish Neil could have at least tried to recreate that for S2.
Finally, the AziraCrow romance was almost exactly what I hoped for. All the way through the season they built on it and built on it, whilst also shedding light on the fundamental issues at their core. They are still so opposite even though they want nothing more than to be together. It's heartbreaking, it's shippy AF, its all romance tropes and fanservice sure - but I don't consider fanservice to be a dirty word. The kiss is heartbreaking. You can feel the desperation oozing off of Crowley in that moment. The heartbreaking cliffhanger is exactly what's needed at the end of act 2 of a 3 act structure. If we had been given the episodes week by week, i fully believe by week 6 we would have been more prepared for it, because after rewatching a few times now, its built in rather seemlessly imo. It was always gonna end that way.
When I consider everything, I can honestly say hand on heart that I preferred this season to the first. Though that's only because season 1 doesn't have enough AziraCrow in it and I'm ultimately here for them. This season was made for the AziraCrow fans, so it makes sense that I'd prefer it, whereas I suppose for book lovers and people who prefer the story of book 1 to the relationship between Az and Crow then yeah, for sure I can see why perhaps you wouldn't be too happy with this season. Perhaps Season 3 will be a better blend for all GO fans.
It was a joy. Fanservice? Yes. A bit like fanfiction? Also yes. Are either of these things bad? Not at all. It was extremely queer, fun, silly, romantic, and heartbreaking. The lack of overarching domineering plot was a good thing tbh. Some of my favourite shows focus more on character development than plot, look at WWDITS, which has never had a proper plot in a single episode of its 5 season run. Yet it is hugely successful and critically acclaimed. Half the time in Supernatural the plot was the absolute worst thing about it. You ignored the plot as much as possible and instead focused on the subtext because that's where all the fun was! So yeah, the lack of overarching plot doesn't bother me in the slightest.
I will leave it there. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, though I do wish that anyone who is particularly critical of GOS2 would please tag it as such, because now I've done my dive into the critique of it, I'd like to avoid and blacklist all such critique going forward. I want to remain in my little GOS2 happy bubble for a while longer - before I inevitably revert back into deep meta analysis of the much darker, and sometimes depressing story of The Sandman.

Does anyone else think about Ulder Ravengard in the Hells, realizing that the goal is to have everyone in Elturel dragged into the Styx, used as cannon fodder?
How he pulls everyone together, creates some kind of defense, maybe he doesn't know how to fix it but he is not someone who gives up, who sacrifices civilians, how Kreeg must be be anathama to this man? How do you sell out people you are responsible for? How do you fail in this trust willingly?
And now think about Zevlor. A tiefling paladin, doubting his god, doubting himself--did he meet Ulder? Did Grand Duke Ravengard haul him up, tell him to pull it together, his city needs him?
Did it work? Did they eventually defend what was left of the city?
Who broke the chains? Who gave up divinity to save a city? Who braved the Hells to restore Elturel to the Material Plane?
Was it Ulder? Did he finally become the man he wanted to be--the man his city deserved, maybe the father his son had deserved. Before Wyll somd his soul for power.
Or was it Zevlor? Did he finally feel close to his god again, able to defend his people, able to save them? Was he finally, finally everything he wanted to be?
Did he sacrifice this, for them. Sacrifice everything.
Only to be betrayed. Blamed for something not his fault due to his birth.
Did he give up everything, and be banished for it anyway?

I am an Aziraphale fictive, have been for a while. In my time without soyrcemates I was happy because I have spent centuries away from Crowley I can stand centuries more. I am not my source but our old host and me are awfully alike so I havent changed very much. Then season 2 came out and it disturbed me. I still look like Aziraphale, I still sound like Azoraphale. However faint my memories are of the before time I at least share some with my source.
It makes me angry. I would never ignore free will. After all I went through to ignore free will? And force someone to fall in love with someone I can only describe as an ass. (I am dreadfully sorry ky dear but you have to do nice things not insult someone's livelyhood and ask what's going on all the time. You weren't nice at all to my friend I'd never endorse such a corse person with someone so sweet. If anyone dares co.pare her to Crowley may I remind you Crowley has always used sweet actions and kind words. It's why he's so good at tempting.) While I can't speak for whether or not Crowley would kiss me I can certainly say that I would have at least mentioned that tiresome trope borders on sexual assault as there is no way to truely know of the other party is consenting. I read don't I? I'm not uneducated in these matters. Neither is he.
So as an Aziraphale of sorts of course I'd forgive Crowley and that corse woman whos screen time made me miss Anathama and Newt dearly but being kissed without talking about it first leaves a lot to think about. I'm also sorry that I would return to heaven. I know it's wrong but maybe I owe the woman who gave me life, Crowley and a flaming sword and maybe I believed that being close to her would help with that.
We did later introject Crowley (from the book) he dislikes the series counterpart, says he really isnt anything like that. Which is fair enough when you think about how we're more a cold war referance than fanfiction characters (no hate to fanfic writers hate we were just altered for season 2 and it peeves us both)
I waited a while after it came out I hope everyone is over it enough for this to not be disturbing.

I know it's not the intended reading, but I read Anathama's line about how "sometimes I fail her" and just in general living her whole life the way her family has planned out for her, including her sleeping with a guy because Agnes told her to, as a lesbian who grew up in an extreme traditional gender roles house who feels like being herself is a betrayl of her family. Her entire story feels so intrinsically queer to me and it baffles me that neilman was surprised when people read the book as queer
NOOO YEAH THAT'S SUCH A GOOD READING. It literally is so queer to be a professional descendant who sleeps with a guy bc of a book and thinks that going against any prophecy is failing your loving relative! Also, the gender stuff is weirdd bc we see show!Agnes eschew gender roles (the "running in an unladylike manner around the village" joke) due to Living In The Future but she still addresses Anathema as Mrs. Pulsifer in the mail in ep6? Someone (who isn't Newt) get Anathema out of there right now pleaseee

rewatching season 1 and when the bentley forms a bicycle rack for anathama's bike, i originally thought aziraphale had miracled it, but after season 2, i now wonder if the bentley put it there itself the same way it gave aziraphale travel sweets ♡

Good Omens 2
I might include pictures later :p
Truthfully a story can exist but the way it is viewed by the audience and the enviroment that shaped their experiences and made them reach the conclusions THAT was what I was trying to say, to help people understand a persons mind process on why they might THINK or come TO the conclusion that Good Omens might be queerbait [even though thats not what 'I' was thinking] but only delving into a small tip of the iceberg of queer literature of subtext as homosexual relationships pre-80's was frowned upon, and had to be villianised. Or when it was finally accepted were then killed. Or to only create a false please both audiences with a will they wont they [unconsented edgeplay] of two men JUST being friends and friendly who are brotherly and just really just pals.
So an older audience who had been used to watch lukewarm shows that 'claimed' to be lgbt only to rip that tag away once the show was over and they were then payed has made others [myself included] timid in queer media and would rather WAIT until a show was over before watching it.
So anyway- I would love to do a more in depth analysis of a LIST of queer stories that had some patterns, patterns that most fall into thats just dryhumping the line that is both queer-approved or queerbait.
________________________________________________________
In 2019 when Good Omens came out, I thought wow if I was in a relationship it would be like that. Crowley and aziraphale I felt seen, I couldn't describe what it was like wanting a relationship but feeling guilty because it wasn't the same as all the OTHER relationships in media. It was different and it was PERFECT.
SO Good Omens is a love story, and it's obvious on whose story it is BUT what I just realised from Season one is the many parralells of COUPLES thats in Good omens to compare against Aziraphale and crowley.
As most things when it comes to same sex couples they have to be subtext [sad face] but it is insulting to claim that ALL lgbt content HAS to be the same. There is a spectrum just because Good Omens isn't as obvious as Interview with a vampire [series] or our flag means death or others doesn't mean its any less queer.
So we have the couples in the series that actually correlate and can be compared to the main couple!
They come in twos.
Adam and Eve. Brand new to the world.
Same as Aziraphale and Crowley both brand new, both leaving the garden of eden almost as if they themselves were just like Adam and Eve I bet God was looking at them the same way they were looking at Adam and Eve.
Adam with a flaming sword
Azi/Crowley; their fucked.
God watching Aziraphale and crowley WITHOUT the flaming sword ; Their fucked.
The way both Azi/crowley met was a love at first sight, they met the once and then bumped into each other conistently. My guess here is that this explosive burst of emotion of instantly liking each other and relying on one another after that first 'night'
Almost reminiscent of anathama and Newt.
Then later on, you have the son of satan well- the parents for the baby swap.
So you have Warlocks parents, the mother who stays and raises warlock alone and the husband who is CONSTENTLY in office and is kept away because of his work and devotion to his president, to the cost of both his loving wife and warlock.
Aziraphale is just as absent when he's constantly up in heaven or talking to gabriel about ending the apocolpse and also Aziraphale was a bit neglectful as Crowleys influence was much stronger than Azi's was in shaping warlock. That physical distance is parralell to the distance has made with crowley making his work [being an angel] his priority.
Then the comparison of adams family, how both raise Adam but its the way the two communicate and talk with one another. Both parents are a team, the way his wife teases her husband for being a big softie about Adam and his dog and the other denied it.
JUST like how Azi says Crowley deep down is a nice person and the other puffs up like an angry bird.
And the last couple but no more obvious. Honestly I always thought the fact that you see THREE love stories play out simultaniously at the same time is the main factor but given that the other mini couples are similair to Aziraphale and crowley was too good to ignore.
So Both shadwell and Madame Tracy.
The fact that Madame tracy had red hair and kept flirting unashamedly at Shadwell and the other kept insisting he wanted no part in it. The truth was theirs was subtle compared to the obvious [ahem] couple of Newt and anathama but when you look at how both tracy and shadwell converse with each other was subtle, not in your face but it was plain as day that the two had chemistry.
With all pairs together every single character in twos are usually a couple the only reason thats not the case are GROUPS.
And lookie here, the four horsmen, adams gang, and both heaven and hell itself have clusters of groups together they never have that official two pair.
idk I just thought it was a neat contrast to the main couple ^^;
Theres probs more but if people want to add on feel free :D
Okay years ago, I made a "Is Good Omens queerbait." Post and did a half ass job if it. The answer no its not bait. Its another LGBT piece added to the tiny treasure box that is slowly getting bigger. But I didn't articulate that post well on WHY certain people were claiming that not the homophobes or acephobes [fuck those gays as a asexual queer myself so back off] it was WHY did LGBT members think at the time that good omens was queerbait.
So If I get dogpiled again with acephobic or homophobic trash again or accused of NEEDING to see two men fuck [which I fucking dont I'm sick of people assuming shit that I never said I WANTED that when did subtext VS text equel Sex HUH? Words of affirmation or holding hands? Like thats where MY MIND is at you fucking perverts.]

Crowley & Sourcemates
Oh I do love sourcemates. I'm not terribly attached like other fictives seem to be, I did go a thousand years without Crowley I think I can manage a human's life span.
The thing is I do love the idea of more than one Crowley being in the world, more than one Adam and Anathama, more than one of any of us even those I would have considered co-workers. It brings me a kind of indescribable joy.
Even more of me! It's lovely.

Good Omens/Red, White Royal Blue AU
Because I have ideas and no follow through, please someone write this for me:
Aziraphale is second in line to the throne behind his cousin Michael, daughter of King Metratron (honestly couldn't make him Aziraphale's dad). Crowley is the brother of Gabriel, President of the United States. Anathama, Gabriel's chief of staff, keeps insisting on throwing Crowley into publicity stunts with Aziraphale after an initial disaster with a cake at the Metratron's Golden Jubilee. Slowly, their snarking and bastardry result in slow burn ignition and they need to deal with the fallout of an public-eye gay romance that neither side supports. Also, Newt is Aziraphale's sweet but incompetent equerry.
