"So, what was that all about last night?" Mary Margaret watched disapprovingly as David grabbed five sandwiches off the tray and thoroughly drizzled the tablecloth with mayonnaise.
"Some patrolling Mages reported that a small group of Vampires were fighting next to a club. They called us in to check it out," David shrugged. "But the Vampires left as soon as we arrived. Some humans, on the other hand, couldn't behave and started shooting."
"They didn't realize we were just trying to protect them," Leo rolled his eyes.
"That's it?" Emma raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah," David nodded. "By the way, the guys are coming over for a little party. Now that Leo's out of the hospital, we need to celebrate."
"Great," Emma sighed, mentally canceling her plans to read her favorite book in peace tonight. "Who's coming?"
"Well, Leo obviously, Robin, Ruby, August…"
"August?" her eyes lit up because August was the only person besides Mary Margaret with whom she could talk relatively freely.
"Oh, yeah," David nodded enthusiastically, and Emma could see the tiny little smile hiding at the corner of his mouth.
He was convinced that she had a crush on August and he would be the one to replace Neal. Then she would be her old self again as if nothing had happened. But there was nothing between them at all, she wasn't attracted to the man. He was just a good friend that she really needed now. Nothing more.
"Eloise, Will, and Killian will be coming too…" David listed, but Emma was no longer listening.
-/-
She spent most of her day, as usual, huddled up in her room. The whole situation with the creatures got weirder and weirder. The open attacks almost completely ceased after Neal's death, but still, no one could live in complete peace. They all felt that something was very wrong, and they were also sure that the creatures had not quenched their bloodthirst. They were preparing for something, and Emma and the others had no idea what they should do.
She just lay motionless on the bed, staring at the ceiling as her thoughts chased each other in her head. Her eyelids slowly grew heavy as lead, and the monotonous ticking of the wall clock soon lulled her into a deep sleep.
She woke up in a musty basement, her face resting on dirty stones. It was difficult to bring herself to a sitting position. Moss grew on the walls of the basement and water stood in puddles on the damp floor. To make matters worse, it was freakishly cold. Her breath wafted white in the semi-darkness.
The bumpy, cobblestone corridor was lit pale silver by the waning crescent moon. Above her head, instead of a proper ceiling, there were only grids dripping with rainwater between the walls.
She was shocked to realize she was wearing nothing but her favorite red satin shorts and a black tank top. Confused, she scrambled to her feet, her legs covered in dirt. She seemed to be standing at the end of a long corridor. The double-iron door that loomed behind her was locked with a chain and padlock, so there was no turning back...
The hallway opened into a single cell. The room was lit by torches, and in the dancing light of the flames, she spotted rusty chains attached to the wall.
A figure crouched in the middle of the tiny dungeon, tremors running through their body.
Her breath caught in her throat as she realized it was Killian. His black shirt hung on him in tatters, he was bleeding profusely from multiple wounds. Standing next to him was none other than David and Neal.
Eyes widening, she stared at Neal. Was he alive after all? How was that possible? Her heart flooded with warmth, but as she got closer to the two of them, she stopped, horrified and confused. Killian's wounds were visibly severe and he was shaking like a leaf. David and Neal, on the other hand, didn't even lift a finger to help him. They watched Killian with deep disgust and hatred on their faces.
"And how long have you been doing this? Since the beginning, huh? Is that right?" David roared as loud as he could, he was shaking with rage and the veins on his neck, as well as his temples, were visibly swollen.
Without any warning, they both attacked Killian. They punched and kicked where they could, not even sparing his head.
"How do you like that, you bastard? How could you?"
Emma had perhaps never seen David so rave with fury before. But with Neal, she was even more shocked. Her feet were rooted to the floor, and not a single voice came out of her compressed lips.
What the hell had gotten into him?
He'd never been so cruel before.
As the soles of Neal's shoes stung Killian's stomach again, life returned to her feet. "Neal, stop it! Don't hurt him!" She was about to grab his arm to pull him away, but her fingers slid over Neal's body as if he were nothing but air.
Stunned, she stared at her hand, which shone translucently with pearly light. Apparently, she had no physical body, nor was her voice audible. She was completely invisible to them, an idle observer of events.
Killian fell onto his side, half-consciously, blood dripping from his ears, nose, and mouth as well. The ground around him was completely black, and she slowly realized that it was Killian's blood as well. Dried blood. She turned her head to the side and pressed her hand to her eyes.
What the hell was going on?
Suddenly she heard a loud, sickening crack, then Killian's gut-wrenching scream. When she looked back at him, she already knew what had happened. Open fracture of the femur. Killian's eyes widened in horror, gasping for air as his spine writhed in agony.
She shuddered in shock and fear.
"Emma! Come on, wake up!"
The air grew much warmer and her brother called her name. Suddenly she slipped into darkness and then her head cleared. She was lying on her bed, and David was shaking her not-so-gently by the shoulders.
"Let go of me!" she growled, trying to push his hands away from her. The image of Killian in the dungeon still floated before her eyes.
He didn't need to be told twice. David backed away from the bed and scanned her face anxiously. But he wasn't the only one in the room. Mary Margaret, Leo, and Robin also witnessed the whole show.
"Are you okay?" Mary Margaret settled on the edge of the bed. "You were screaming…"
"I'm not really surprised," Emma muttered, then sat up and buried her face in her hands. "It's okay, I just...had a bad dream, I think," she glanced up at the boys.
They took the hint immediately. As the door closed behind them, Mary Margaret looked at her with a frown.
"Are you sure it was just a dream? We thought you were awake and...having a seizure. Your eyes were open, Emma."
"It was so real. But it couldn't be a vision. It didn't make sense," she shook her head.
Besides, she had never had such a protracted vision before.
"Are you going to tell me what you saw?"
"Of course."
Emma tried to brace herself and collect her thoughts. She did her best not to miss a single moment of the dreamlike vision.
"Are you sure it was Neal? And David?" Mary Margaret asked.
Emma answered with a firm nod.
"And Killian... Did they seriously torture him together?"
"Yes, but I already told you that," Emma moaned in exasperation. She didn't want to think about that part of her nightmare.
She hopped off the bed and started pacing in front of Mary Margaret.
"I'm sorry to say this, Emma, but it was definitely a vision," her friend explained. "I don't know what else it could be."
"Anything else! Neal… he's dead."
"Yes," Mary Margaret nodded sternly and grabbed her by the arm. She stopped her nervous pacing and turned Emma to face her. "I'm not so sure whether you actually saw him in your vision. You said yourself that it was awfully dark. I'd bet anything it wasn't him. Because if it's the past…" Mary Margaret bit her lower lip thoughtfully and a frown appeared on her forehead.
"Is it possible that I saw part of the past?" She repeated Mary Margaret's thought in astonishment. "We would've known about it." Emma shook her head.
"Yeah, that's why it doesn't make sense," Mary Margaret agreed. "If all this had happened, Killian wouldn't be here with us now…"
"So, what do you think?"
"I think you should get yourself together and freshen up, it's almost seven. The others will be here soon. I don't think you want to show up in front of everyone in this condition."
"Why not?" she shrugged, but obediently headed towards the bathroom anyway. This had been a long day, and it wasn't over yet.
-/-
People were already gathered in the living room when she came down the stairs. They were sitting around the coffee table playing cards. August, Eloise, and Killian were chatting a few feet away from the designated playing area.
She directed her steps straight to the talking squad.
Eloise noticed her first, and her pretty face immediately contorted into a grimace. Emma didn't like her, and the feeling was obviously mutual. Her shiny red air fell in huge waves to her shoulder, and as always, she was dressed head to toe in blue. She had even painted her nails a beautiful shade of aquamarine.
"Hey, guys!" Her mood was already a bit depressed when she spotted Eloise, but one glance at August brought a smile to her lips.
"Hello, stranger. It's been quite a while since we last saw each other," August took a step forward, right between Killian and Eloise.
He hugged her tightly and pressed his cheeks against hers.
He was a full-blooded Elf, he had turned one hundred and seventy years old last week, but he was still a novice, a mere adolescent of his kind. His slightly wavy, short brown hair hid most of his pointed ears, at least that didn't make him stand out on the streets. He wasn't noticeably tall; he was only four inches taller than her. His figure, however, was anything but frail. His muscular body was quite unusual among his kind. They didn't need the visual display though, they could easily throw vehicles across a road if they needed to.
"Yeah, I missed you, too," Emma remarked, a little annoyed as he let go of her and stepped back a bit.
"I'm really sorry. Please forgive me, I've been traveling a lot." He tilted his head cautiously, but she could see in his dark blue eyes that he didn't feel any guilt; in fact, he was quite amused by her annoyance.
Time passed quite differently for him.
"You all know each other already?" Emma looked at the three of them, but her eyes involuntarily lingered on Killian, even though she had prepared herself upstairs not to stare at him at this party.
It was silly, but she was looking for wounds on his body. Or traces of them. In the end, her gaze fell on his thigh. That, of course, seemed to be completely intact, as did all of Killian's other body parts.
Killian, on the other hand, noticed her gaze, and he failed to mask the surprise on his face in time. Emma felt her cheeks redden and looked back up at August again.
"Actually, we just met," the Elf replied, clasping his hands politely behind his back.
"I thought you wouldn't be here," Eloise remarked, fixing her eyes on the opposite wall as if she found the deep green, serpentine-patterned wallpaper extremely interesting.
Out of the corner of her eye, she could see August's face twitch slightly. He always found it difficult to tolerate unwarranted hostility.
"Why wouldn't I be here? I thought you knew I lived here, in this apartment. Does my presence bother you that much?"
She was tired of being polite, tired of being kind to her. Her gaze glowed with anger as she raised it to Eloise. The woman had tried to seduce Neal more than once, in increasingly insidious ways over the years, but to her utter disappointment, she had never succeeded. And that irked her to no end.
Now she seemed to be trying to ensnare one of the boys as well.
"I think a bit of fresh air would do us good. Emma, would you like to go for a walk?" August asked.
"That would be great, actually," she forced out through her clenched teeth and headed toward the hallway with August on her heels.
On the way out, Emma's gaze floated to David's face, and she almost let out a laugh. His expression was overwhelmed with hope that she would soon throw herself into August's arms.
"Where did that red-haired bitch come from?" August asked with an unflinching expression as they walked to the edge of the woods behind the house.
Her heart leapt in her chest, for Emma had never heard him use the word "bitch," though he was already unfortunate enough to know a few.
"I heard her thoughts, saw her memories… it was simply stomach-churning," he explained at the sight of her stunned expression.
The fact that he could see into Eloise's head so easily meant that she was truly as blunt-witted as she seemed. He was still very young for an Elf, and at the moment, he could only peer into the minds of individuals with more modest intellectual abilities. Emma kept asking him if he could hear her thoughts and see her memories, but he replied in the negative every time. She didn't know if he was telling the truth, but she hoped he wasn't lying to her out of pity.
"And where have you been for so long? I really missed you."
"The Guild sent me to France. The situation there is pretty depressing, too. The open street clashes stopped there just as suddenly as they have here. I don't understand it either," he shook his head. "But there's little we can do about it anyway. I'd be more interested in how you survived this month without me."
"I did nothing, as usual," Emma shrugged.
"Nothing worth mentioning again?" he raised an eyebrow in mock disapproval.
"You know I would tell you otherwise. It was unnecessary to even ask."
"I didn't know that man you were dating, but I have to admit, you're making me more and more curious. What was it about him that left such a deep impression on you?" he asked, the question directed more at himself than her.
She wouldn't have had the strength to answer him anyway. Instead, she told him about her dream-slash-vision. She was genuinely curious about his opinion.
"Strange," he muttered, staring thoughtfully ahead for a few minutes. "It can't be a vision since the man you were seeing is already dead. It can't be from the past, either, because then you'd surely know about it and this Killian guy wouldn't be here now. It's rather annoying, but I have to admit; I have no idea what it could be."
"I see."
Of course, she was disappointed; she was very confident that August would shed some light on what was going on.
"But I would appreciate it if you could tell me more about this Killian. When did he join the Hunters?" His eyes twinkled with eagerness and curiously, obviously excited about what he knew so little about.
"About two or three months ago," she answered, tossing a branch from the path.
"He is rather strange," August remarked.
Emma understood, he wanted to know more about Killian. "To be honest, I know very little about him. His magic is pretty strong, and apparently, there were Elves among his ancestors."
"Elves?" he frowned and shook his head imperceptibly. "Strange. I didn't sense that in his aura, though I should have…"
"I don't know from which side of his parents and how many generations back," she added hastily. "Maybe it's just a distant relative, that's why you couldn't sense it."
"It's possible," he nodded, but she could see he wasn't entirely convinced. "He's also quite taciturn," August continued, and Emma realized with a weary sigh that he wasn't going to give up on the subject of Killian.
He was as stubborn as a mule.
"Why do you worry so much about him?"
"His aura…" he shuddered as he thought back to their encounter. "It's even darker than yours."
"Darker? What's that supposed to mean? You never said mine was…" she paused.
August reluctantly came to a stop beside her and turned to face her. "Usually, the aura of people with a dark past, an evil personality, or dying individuals turns black. But it also happens when someone has gone through a terrible trauma or grief and can't get over it. General malaise, depression. Such people are usually very lonely, in some cases even antisocial," August replied.
Emma knew exactly what best described her of the things listed, but she had no idea about Killian. She couldn't really decide. Apparently, neither could August, and she could see that it bothered him.
"But… since when can you see the aura of Mages so clearly? Until now, I thought you could only do that with humans."
"My abilities are getting stronger," he smiled, visibly proud of himself. "Anyway, I feel sorry for the boy. I'm not sure why, but when I'm around him, the feeling just floods over me."
"I get it. I mean, I really don't, but that's probably my problem. Anyway, I think we should get back soon, I don't want David to get the wrong idea…"
"Yes, let's," August smiled and they both turned towards the house.
-/-
Meanwhile, in the living room, people at the coffee table got bored with playing cards and were discussing where to continue the party. The Hunters, of course, weren't bound by the curfew, they could go wherever they wanted.
Emma cut across the hall and marched straight to the kitchen to make herself a cup of tea. But unfortunately, David was already leaning against the refrigerator.
"Well? What's up with August, Ems?" It probably wouldn't have been possible to scrape the taunting grin off his face.
"Thank you, he's fine," Emma replied measuredly.
She was beginning to get rather annoyed at his behavior. She had decided long ago never to let anyone get close to her heart again, certainly not another Hunter she could easily lose.
"You know what I mean."
"Yeah, and so does August. But we both just laugh at your attempts. We're friends, that's all. We've even talked about it a few times, if I remember correctly," she stared fixedly at David's face, whose good mood was disappearing like a gray donkey in a fog, and his bleak expression didn't make her feel better.
"And how long do you plan on doing this, huh?"
"What are you talking about? I'm not doing anything you could object to!"
"But you do! You drive everyone crazy with this world-weary widow behavior! You act as if nothing matters to you anymore!"
"Maybe it doesn't!" she began to lose her patience and she, too, raised her voice.
"You're not even trying to get over him. You're just… you're just a… selfish, stupid girl! You only think about yourself!"
The hot tea she was pouring into her mug flew straight into David's face. She didn't think he had any idea how much his words hurt her.
David let out a yell, and as if on cue, August stepped into the kitchen. He was astonishingly angry; Emma had probably never seen him in such a state before. If he could have killed with a single look, David would have collapsed dead on the floor.
"The others are getting ready to go to the Witchland Club. You better hurry up and change into something dry before they leave." August's voice was low, but his temper sounded undisguised.
He was one of the few people David never argued with. Without a single word, he left the kitchen.
She shivered all over and turned away from August bitterly. That was when she noticed the figure leaning against the counter at the other end of the kitchen. Killian. He could have seen the whole thing. He had a mug of something in his hand and was watching August and her with a stunned expression. He muttered something under his breath that Emma couldn't make out and shuffled out of the kitchen, leaving them alone.
"Are you okay?" August put a hand on her shoulder and turned her to face him, concern written all over his face.
"No… David is right. I'm selfish."
"You're not. If anyone's selfish, it's David. He has no idea what you're going through. He doesn't understand that the wounds of the human soul heal over time, not through violence and feigned negligence. Your pain will pass, I promise you. I'm not saying it will happen tomorrow, but it will take effect soon. David is also trying to protect his own soul, it's hard for him to see you like this. We can't blame him either."
She couldn't think of a reply, just watched the tiny drops of the tea on the floor. And then August did what he never usually did apart during greetings. He hugged her. Emma blinked in surprise for a while, then returned the gesture uncertainly.
"I don't understand you. Why do you care about me?" she asked, lips pulled into a smile.
"I have a few special quirks. You count as one of them," he winked at her.
"I need a serious answer, though," she insisted.
"I like you. You're a good friend of mine. I knew you before Neal died, and I wish you were like that again…"
"August…" she turned her head and broke away from his embrace.
"You asked, I answered," he shrugged.
"We're leaving now! Hurry up, guys!" Leo stuck his head into the kitchen.
"I'd rather stay home tonight, if that's all right," Emma replied.
"Me too," August nodded.
"Too bad," Leo said and walked back out of the kitchen.
Emma walked into the living room, August behind her.
"Come on, Killian! You better come with us!" Eloise urged him relentlessly.
"I'd rather go home," Killian shook his head.
"Let him! Once he makes up his mind, there's no changing it," Robin waved it off and followed David and Will out of the apartment.
Ruby shrugged and made her way to the exit as well. She was still limping a little, but otherwise, she seemed fine.
"You could stay here, too," Emma only saw a blur of gray as August slid next to Killian.
He smiled charmingly at Killian, and Emma knew immediately what he wanted. He was curious about Killian, there were too many secrets around him, and August endured it terribly hard when he didn't understand something.
Eloise expelled an angry breath, then left the house behind Mary Margaret and Leo, but the door remained open.
"I really should be going," Killian shook his head.
His face was calm, his gaze indecipherable.
"Are you sure you can't stay?" August frowned and put a hand on Killian's shoulder.
He used all his compelling skills, of which he had plenty as a full-blooded Elf.
"Aye, I'm sorry. Maybe next time," Killian nodded and his icy magic flared up again.
She was more than a foot away from the two of them, but she shivered at the feeling. August's face, on the other hand, didn't even twitch. At that moment, Emma found Killian more terrifying than ever.
"Good night," he turned on his heel and stepped out into the night.
August stared after him for long seconds, then whirled around and settled on the couch.
"What was that?"
"That's what I'd like to know. I'm going to suggest David keep an eye on him," he stated firmly, his gaze hardening instantly. "I tried to read his mind, and he noticed. I've hit a wall I wasn't expecting. And it's not the same wall I bumped into with you. It's a line of defense, and his magic… well, that's the most disturbing thing. He's not a simple warlock, that much is clear. But even if there was Elven blood in him, I couldn't sense it. However, there is something else that I cannot identify in any way. And I must admit, that worries me greatly."
"Not knowing exactly what and how much power resides in him doesn't necessarily make him evil," she explained, slightly surprised at August's sudden hostility.
"I didn't say that either," he nodded. "But it can't hurt to be careful."

Olivia's PoV
Aunt Lucretia stands beside me, looking up at me proudly. She has helped me in preparing for my dinner date with Liam.
"You sure don't want to stay back until I return? You may be interested in all the things that happened around?"
She gives me a loving smile, "You have a nice time, my dear. I somehow can't tolerate the Rhys blood in my vicinity."
"Now you are overreacting aunty."
"I am not." She snarled. "The Rhys dynasty has always been unfair to the Nevrakis clan. From times unknown, they have exploited the strength and valour of our people to rule their land."
"Do you think Liam is any different? They say he is compassionate to his people unlike his father."
"Have you lost your mind? They are all the same. Try taking away the throne from him and he will show his true colours." She fumes in anger but the next moment she speaks to me in a composed tone. "Remember Olivia, what they did to my sister and your mother. They reduced our family line to the extent that we are the only two left to bear the name. Don't let your aim be deterred by this boy's few sugar coated words."
"I will not forget what you have taught me aunt." I reassure her.
"Now I need to leave before your party comes."
It is late in the evening as I stand on the terrace of my Chateau looking at the golden Sun hanging on the horizons. The sequins on my dress shimmer delicately in its fading light. I am ready, waiting for Liam when unknowingly, I leave a cold sigh. The loneliness creeps over at such times and nibbles over my train of thoughts. It brings back the painful memories of the time when I was left alone after my parents assassination.
Aunt Lucretia has already left. I ponder the way she behaved today. It's difficult to understand her sometimes. She visits me often, she is there for me, she tells me stories about my parents. But she never stays around.
The sound of footsteps behind me bring me back to the present. Fiona, my chambermaid comes to inform me of the arrival of the king. I pat my hand on the parapet, as if telling the bricked wall to keep my secrets safe until I return. A quick check in the mirror and then I sway down to the great hall to meet Liam.
I see him staring at the portrait of my forefather, Diavolos Nevrakis in the hall.
"Are you asking some dating tips from Diavolos?"
He turns and smirks at me. "Nope... I don't need it. I have Leo remember."
"They are poles apart. Just to brush up your memory, Diavolos' extraordinary courage swept away your great grandma Kenna's heart. He was loyal, Leo cannot stay with one woman for more than a week. I really doubt what you are going to be if you consider Leo as your teacher.
He chuckles as he turns to look at me completely. "If I remember correctly, Kenna ended up with my great grandpa Dom. But anyway, Leo is not that bad. He has a way with ladies. He might surprise you."
"That's the point. Nevrakis never got a chance to be with Rhys even after all the love, care and loyalty they showed."
I waddle my finger between both of us. "What chances do we have Liam?"
He walks closer to me. "Right now? None!" He looks at me with a stern look on his face. Was he hurt or angry? I have never seen Liam like this. "You have to let me in... Stop pushing me away and I will give you all of me. Only then do we have a chance."
"And it starts with dinner today?"
"Olivia, this is your only chance. I am serious. I care about you, but I need to move on if this isn't what you want." His voice is laced with hurt. "And don't lie to me....." He pauses as if he is trying to find a way to say 'I will always find out the truth.'
I smile and advance to him, holding his arm into my hands. " What has gotten into you Liam. You never were so harsh."
I need to keep this under control. I cannot let him go astray with the new blue eyed beauty he has found.
Liam pours out his feelings. "I just feel like my heart is out there and you don't feel the same. I have to protect myself."
"From me? I say wide eyed.
"From heartbreak. I will be honest. I feel attracted to Riley. I want to see where things can go. I will not lead either of you on, but you need to know that I won't take your hot and cold anymore."
My blood boils at the name of the American brunette but I keep my emotions under control.
Instead I show him that I am hurt, I know the way to soften his heart. I look at him with sad, glossy eyes. "Liam, so much for our years of bonding? You know her since what? Five days? And we have known each other since I was five years old."
I know he will take a U- turn with this
He cannot see me hurt like that.
He reaches out and strokes my cheek with his thumb. "Liv, we have been friends for years and never did you show me any sign that you wanted more than friends. Not until I showed up with Riley....." He moves his hand away and I somehow already miss his touch. "There is something about her that has me captivated and I want to get to know her. Maybe just as friends."
"I understand Li." I use his short name for the first time in years. Now I need to have some excuse. My mind is running out of ideas fast. I just blurt out. "I had my reasons to keep you away Li." I try to develop some intimacy by placing my palm softly over his broad chest. "Let's give this a chance. Seriously this time."
"We can see how it goes." Something in his eyes tells me he is hesitant. What has happened since we got here? I keep my fears aside and curl my hand around his elbow and bean at him. "Take me for our date."
"It would be my pleasure." He gives a meek smile and I feel my heart sinking. Have I already lost this battle? I respond with a brighter smile and we walk out into the cold evening.
He helps me into one of the SUVs, and then instructs the driver. "Let's go have dinner." He is not the same Liam as he always is. I feel like he is distant. I have to fix this or my plan won't work.
At the restaurant, getting out, he walks over to help me out of the car.
I look at the signboard of the restaurant and then I smile at him. "You remembered?"
I feel a knot inside. He remembers my favourite eating place.
"I did." He shrugs. "I remember everything about you." He takes my hand and leads me into the restaurant.
I feel the knot tighten with those words. 'Focus Olivia. Don't fall for the sugar coated words' aunt Lucretia's warning resonates in my mind.
We sit at the table and Liam gives me a sweet smile, but there is something on his mind.
"Penny for your thoughts?"
"Just admiring the beautiful view."
I turn around to check the view behind me. There is just a wall.. I look back at him puzzled.
He chuckles and raises his brow at me. "What are you looking at? You are my beautiful view..."
I feel the heat rising up my cheeks.
'This is not how it was supposed to be'. "How many times have you used those lines?"
"Wouldn't you like to know. Just take the compliment."
"I am not used to such compliments Liam. Unlike you I have not had a chance to date. My life is like an open book in front of you." I laugh inside at the contrast in the last comment I made. Still to keep up the game I nod politely. "Thank you anyways."
He stares at me silently and I have no idea what to think. It's as if he is looking right through me. "Liv, you need to accept and love yourself then you will see that other people care and love you." He reaches his hand out and cups my cheek. "You don't even realize how beautiful you are." He runs his thumb along my cheek.
I shiver at his touch. I curl my fingers around his hand and gently pull it away from my cheek. I need to breathe. I need to remember why I am here. I cover his hand with both my hands, I cannot let him go. The way he is treating me is cluttering my mind with so many questions. Oh Lord! Help me! I clear my throat and try to stay in the moment. " I will try. From now. " I barely complete a sentence.
This is not going to be easy I realise. I need to speak to keep up the conversation.
"Why me?" I blurt out.
"Why not...." He pulls his hand back and takes a sip of his drink. "I.... I Can't....." the waiter shows up and Liam stops talking giving him his order.
I keep staring at him. Is he really the son of Constantine? How can he be so loving when his father was so cruel? It's like a tug of war playing between my heart and my mind.
'The Rhys blood is all the same' aunt Lucretia's voice echoes again in my mind. I straighten up to be in my character.
He says something and I realise I have been staring at him all this time and missed out on his talk.
"Huh?"
"What would you like to eat." He raises his brow.
"Why? You don't remember what I like to eat?" I tease him and that brings in a sense of satisfaction.
'Okay Olivia try to keep it platonic and you may be able to sail through this successfully.' I make a fresh resolution.
"I was just checking. You seem too far away for a moment." He gives my order to the waiter.
We keep having small casual talk as the food is served. I keep picking myself from falling for his charm all the time.
As we finish our desserts I try to continue normal chit chat. "How are things at work? Now that you have a new…'assistant'." I air quote.
"We haven't started yet. She will only start on Monday. But from what I have heard and seen, she will make my life a lot easier." He smiles as he looks out the window.
I feel a sting of jealousy even if I brought her up in our talks. "Easier? You mean we will be able to spend more time together?"
"I will have a lot of free time on my hand." He doesn't give me a direct answer.
"Hmm. I would like to see what you plan to do with that time."
He chuckles and shakes his head. "You will see soon enough."
"Liam, you do understand that if we are trying to be together, there should not be any hidden plans in between."
I am hiding my true motives and asking him to have a transparent relation. How ironic!
"I am not hiding anything. You will see what I spend my time on. That is me being honest."
"I like where this is going." I give him a sly smile and he grins back at me.
"I knew you would." He gets up holding his hand out to me.
I slip my hand into his as he clasps his other hand over it and pulls me into him. "Care to go on a long drive?"
His calm ocean blue eyes boring into me, I manage to give a slight nod.
He tucks my hand into the crook of his elbow and we walk out to his SUV.
The driver stands there but Liam signals him aside and himself opens the door for me. He then instructs the driver and rounds up to settle down beside me. The SUV wheels through the dark roads of Lythikos.
I feel the touch of Liam's fingers on my hand. I look down at my hand that is now covered with his and then I look up at him. He smiles at me and I reciprocate. As he feels encouraged with my welcoming smile, he entwined his fingers in mine. He makes small circles moving up my arm, causing the tingling on my skin.
"Where are we headed to?" I ask to distract him.
"The palace? I thought we could spend some more time together." I know he is still not convinced and I have to make him believe.
"Sure, why not."
We spend the next hour in each other's company, Liam murmuring sweet nothings and I, accepting his advances.
****************
Liam's POV
We are finally back at the palace. The time I spent with Olivia was very eye opening, she’s still guarded, but for right now I need to figure out what it is I am actually feeling. It has always just been Olivia and then this blue eyed brunette came crashing into my life and now my feelings are all over the place.
I left Olivia at her room even though she wanted me to stay. I just couldn’t. What the hell is wrong with me? I have always wanted Olivia and now I have my chance, but something is just telling me that why did it take me to bring another girl around for Olivia to finally open up to me. Why didn’t she open up to me all those times that I have made my intentions pretty clear.
I fall down on my bed as I stare at the ceiling, every time I close my eyes I see Olivia’s green eyes staring back at me and as I move closer the most dazzling blue eyes replace Olivia's and I can’t help being pulled into her even more.
I shoot up from the bed grabbing a shirt. “I need to talk to Riley. I need to know if it’s just me feeling this way.”

The Parent Trap AU
Tumblr media
This absolutely WONDERFUL art is done by @sanderssidestrash27 Thank for making this I love it so much!!!!!
Summary: Almost twelve years later, separated at birth twins Roman and Remus both end up at the same Camp Sanders. What chaos will ensue those short eight weeks? And where will it lead the twins when their time together ends?
"And, once again, we have a winner! Presenting Mr. Napa California, Remus Parker!" The crowd of boys watching the tournament let out an uproar of applause and shouting as Gavin held Remus's hand up above his head in victory. Remus grinned, whooping along with all of the boys and swooping his arm in a righteous bow. "Now, do we have any other competitors?" Gavin asked.
Remus walked over to the group of onlookers to them all high fives, grinning and laughing at their words of praise. Even he couldn't deny it (not that he ever would), he *was* pretty good at fencing. Great, even.
"Oh come on now, boys!" Gavin said as he surveyed the nearby campers. "Someone here has got to be able to beat this champion, let's give it a go!"
"I'll try!" Roman declared as we walked up to the scene. He had a soccer ball tucked under his arm and had two other boys trailing behind him. They all looked like they just walked off of the soccer field, still sweaty and hot of breath.
"Alright, epic, let's go!" Gavin scribbled down *Roman James* next to *Remus Parker* on his clipboard. Above that sat rows upon rows of *Remus Parker*s next to previous opponents, all of their names crossed out and a star besides his every time.
Roman walked over to the pile of equipment while Remus talked with his friends.
"You're gonna win this one again, man," one of them said.
"Yeah, you're gonna whoop his ass, dude!" Another boy exclaimed. Everyone gasped at the foul language before laughing. "Besides, look at him. He's whooped from his soccer game, he wouldn't be able to win even if he tried." Remus grinned before turning to look at his new challenger, who was already suited up.
"Good luck, Re!" Camden said as Remus grabbed his sabre.
"Thanks, Cammy. But, I don't need luck." He tossed his blade into the air, catching it in and landing in a fighting stance. He pointed the protected tip of the weapon only an inch from Camden's chest. Who immediately flinched back. Remus smirked, proud of the reaction he was given. "I'm Remus Parker. AKA the best fencer in the whole country, AKA the one who's about to beat this poor boy's ass." The boys burst into laughter and playful applause as Remus made yet another ceremonious bow. Janus *did* always tell Remus to be confident in himself and his abilities, though he always made a point to assure Remus that he got his confidence from his other father, whomever that may be. Janus usually left that part out. Well, whoever it was, Remus had to thank them one day. Without them, he wouldn't be able to wack other people with long swords. The thought made him giggle quietly to himself.
"Alright boys, are we ready?" Gavin asked. Remus turned back around sliding his protective mask over his face.
"Yup," he stated, getting into position.
"You know it," Roman said. Remus didn't know who this boy was, but he couldn't help but want to laugh out loud at his clear British accent. What British dude would want to come to a camp like this when he could be enjoying a cup of tea with the Queen or something? Remus almost laughed out loud.
"En garde." Gavin said, crouching down to get a better view. The two boys touched their blades together, tense and ready for battle. Most of the campers held their breaths, a few of them letting out words of praise for the player they were rooting for. Things like *let's go Roman* and *you got this Roman* rang out amongst the crowd. Anticipation hung in the air like a rope, swinging back and forth between the opposing teams. The noise dropped as silence filled the air for a few frightful seconds before Gavin declared the magic word:
"Fence."
With that one, little word, Remus smirked under his gear. His attitude reeked of confidence as he swung his sabre back and forth towards Roman. Roman arched his back, avoiding every blow with surprising ease. Shocked, Remus almost lost his footwork, barely avoided the tip of Roman's blade. He regained his thoughts and ran by Roman to the nearest tree. He jumped with as much grace as he could muster, kicking his foot off the tree and propelling himself in Roman's direction. Roman, however, was able to jump back and duck, moving out of the way and missing all four of Remus's attacks. Roman, catching on to Remus's style quickly, decided that it was his turn to strike. So he jumped forward and launched his sabre at Remus. Remus was able to block Roman, causing them to run backwards into the grass. Remus, having to run backwards, lost his footing and rolled onto the ground on his back. The air was knocked out of him and he clutched the dark grass with his free hand, gasping for air. A chunk of the dewy plant was ripped from the Earth as his hand flew up to his chest. When he was finally able to regain his composure, he lifted the hand up to his eyes to block out the obnoxious rays of sun and view his determined opponent. He saw Roman lurking above him. He looked like he was trying to be dramatic, waiting until the very last second to strike. *What an idiot* Remus thought, rolling his eyes. *Two can play at that game.* Remus played there, pretending to be beat. The crowd of boys had quickly caught up with the two and were now shouting at each opponent. Some called for Remus to get up, while others cheered Roman on to finish his work. Roman, being the over-the-top and confident that he was, flexed his muscles in show. Remus almost chortled at his dumb this boy was, but instead kept up his act. Finally, done with his dramatics, Roman brought his blade up above his arms, lowering it to stab directly in the middle of his chest. That's when Remus rolled away, jumping to his feet and letting out a battle cry as he ran sword-first at Roman. The 6drown let out an uproar of yells while Roman shrieked out of pure terror. He ran away from Remus and up the stairs of the outdoor dining hall with Remus following only steps behind. Remus was able to run ahead of the other and hopped onto the seat if the bench. The boys continued to fence and he shimmied down the bench and Roman along the wooden deck. Until, that is, Remus got to the end of the bench and also the end of the deck, which if course, with Remus's luck, lacked a railing. And as he turned back around to find a route of escape, Roman decided to make his final strike. Where was his dramatics when Remus needed them? As the tip of his blade collided with Remus's chest above his rapidly beating heart, the force caused Remus to stumble and tip backwards, before eventually falling off of the deck…
And into a trough of water.
Oh. *There* were his dramatics. Great timing.
As Remus hit the water back-first, the now large crowd of onlookers all gasped and fell still. Droplets of water splashed through the air and hit the warm grass, a few campers getting wet in the process. Still, they sat there, tense and unmoving. Finally, Remus was the first to move as he slowly turned his head towards Roman. He lifted his arms, watching as water pooled off of him and back into the trough. Turning back to Roman with his arms still extended, he growled.
"Really?" He snarled, his strained voice muffled by his mask but clearly seeping with rage. Roman had one of his hands up to his mask to cover his mouth in shock. He shook his head in an attempt to regain his thoughts before quickly dropping his sabre.
"Oh my God, I'm so so sorry! Here, let me help," he said as he extended his hand towards Remus. Remus peered up at Roman, smirking. He went to match onto to Roman's hand, but before Roman could even think of pulling him onto the dock, Remus yanked his arm as hard as he could.
With a small, high-pitched shriek, Roman went falling butt-first into the container of water. Even as Remus was hit with the spray of water and even more soaked, he couldn't help but burst into a loud fit of laughter. As he continued to laugh hysterically, Roman looked down at himself. He let out a choked, offended scoff before shoving Remus back into the water, causing him to both stop his laughter and get even more wet. When he resurfaced, he saw Roman laughing just as he had been before and huffed, clocking Roman in the face. What could he say, his dad always did teach him to stand up for himself. And if that meant punching some random dude in the face (or even shoving someone down the steps, something that apparently his father found funny but told him to stop doing after the fourth time. Sorry, Billy, but that was MY Thomas the Train.) then so be it.
When Roman came down from the initial shock of being punched, he turned to Remus and decked him the same way he had, right square in the face. Now *that's* when things got bad.
The two boys went full out brawl mode, rolling around in the water, kicking, cursing, punching, and everything in between. Both boys found the other to be surprisingly around the same strength as himself, along with very similar fighting techniques. Punches right to the face and bites on the arm seemed to be both of their go-to's, apparently. Finally, after fighting for what felt like ages, they both felt Paris of strong arms wrap around their middles in an attempt to untangle them. They continued to go at each other's throats until the second they were dropped a feet apart in the grass, soaked and furious.
"Boys! That is enough!" Gavin said as he stood by Roman's side.
"There is absolutely no fighting at this camp, do you hear me? We work through our differences with words and nonviolent activities only. Is that understood?" Leo asked, hands held on his hips as he looked between the two boys.
"Yes, sir," Roman and Remus muttered in unison, their muffled responses dripping with annoyance and little guilt. Their minds were elsewhere, both secretly hoping that their masks were enough to protect them from the other's blows. Neither of them had been prepared for the other's strength, their egos to big to think that they would be beat. If not, they'd both walk out of the situation with black eyes and bloodied lips, not to mention a crap ton of red scratches. A cool story in Remus's opinion, but to Roman, who had never been in a legitimate fight before, he would be horrified. People might think he was a fighter, something he kept solely for playing and daily activities, up until now. His dad would kill him, his grandfather scold him, and his butler worry over him endlessly. A part of him found this new endeavor cool, secretly hoping to keep a few small marks for a while. But longer lasting ones that would stay after the eight week camp were not worth worth any of that.
Sure, Remus's dad would be mad, and his nanny worried sick, but they were used to this kind if behavior from Remus. Many days he'd come home from school beaten or bruised, either from his adventures or his schoolmate differences. Janus had to even go to his schools sometimes to pick him up or clear things up with his principal and teachers. He was always really good at convincing people of things. Remus felt bad when his father had to come get him or patch him up, but he always tried to be better for him. He knew he wasn't easy to handle all the time, especially with only his dad and nanny there to take care of him. But, like usual, he would definitely be given more chores and a scolding. Not to mention, black eyes hurt. A whole lot. If he did have any, however, he was lucky that his nanny had been teaching him how to use makeup lately now that he was getting older. Some ice and concealer would do the trick.

"Boys!" Leo said, snapping his fingers. "Up here!" Both of the boys shook their heads and left their thoughts behind to linger on their own in favor of listening to the counselor. "Now I want you two to apologize to each other. And take off your protective gear, it must be soaking wet by now."
The two boys huffed and turned to face each other. In unison, the two reached up for their masks, dipping their heads downwards and sliding them off. As their arms fell to their sides, they lifted their heads, and immediately locked eyes. They both gasped at what they were met with.
Light brown eyes met the same pair of light brown eyes in return. They scanned each other's face, taking in their similarities. Scattered freckles splayed like the night stars, fluffy light brown hair, only partially wet as the summer sun quickly worked to dry it. Unfortunately, they both had obvious scratches and bruises along their faces, most noticeably on their cheeks and noses. It was as if both boys had the same thought process as the other. So, not only did they *look* alike, but they *thought* alike. Strange.
"Well, boys?" Leo asked after a few silent seconds. The boys looked over to him, confused.
"Sorry?" They asked in unison, the man's speech only seconds ago now long forgotten.
Leo sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I'll take it. Now please, get to your respective cabins and clean up before dinner in the mess. If you require any assistance, the medic cabin is that way. Now go, shoo. And please, no more trouble." Flapping his hands, bhe ushered the boys along. They stared at each other, not breaking eye contact as they walked towards their cabins. Once they hit a fork in the road between their two cabins, Gavin ran up to them.
"Wow, it's like you two are twins or something! That's so weird!" He said before running off.
The boys looked back at each other, sparing one last glance before they glared and stomped off.
     This was war.

Sunscreen 🌅👙
I'm in a mood for jealous turtles today. Hope you like it!^^
It was summer, and Casey have planned a trip for a Beach house that his family owed since he was younger. It was almost in the middle of nothing, so it was safe for the turtles to go. They were all very excited, afterall, they've never left New York City before. After a four long hour car ride, you were all finaly there. The house was increribly beautiful. It has five rooms. Two for couples and the other three for inviters. And, let's not forget, the pool! That pool was wonderful! It has a waterfall and neon lights.
You decided to took a day to sun bath. You have picked your best bikini and laid down on your belly onto a beach chair at the edge of the pool.
You were so relaxed that you felt like you're gonna fly. But, after a while, the sun started burning your back a little too much, and you were too sleepy to get the sunscreen by yourself.
However, by a misterious miracle, you heard the hard and heavy steps that could only belong to the turtle you loved.
Leo💙:
"Hey, fearless" You called him with a sleepy voice. He have stoped nearby you. "Would you please pass some sunscreen on my back??" You pleaded.
What you did not know was that that wasn't your boyfriend, Leonardo, but acctualy his brother in a red mask.
He smirked greatly. Of course he didn't say anything or it could ruin this opportunity. He just grabbed the product and squished the white goo (😏😏) on his hand. He reached his three fingered hand onto your back and started spreading the sunscreen over your skin. You shrivered a little with his touch, bitting your lip as the heat of his hand spread through your body.
"Hmmmm just like that, love" You moaned a little. The big brute enjoying the sensation he was giving to you. And how smoothly your skin felt on his hand. He tried to reach to your higher back, but the strings of your bikini wouldn't let him. "Untie these, handsome. Please?"
His fingers grasped the cords and pulled the knot off until it was out of you. Now, he had the liberty to massage your back and shoulders. His pants got more thigher as he could peep your boob coming out from your bikini.
"What the fuck is goin'on here?!" Leo's voice ecooed furiously from far behind you.
You jumped in scare and sat up quickly on the chair, looking confusedly to your side. And how surprised you were when you saw Raphael instead of Leo. "Raph?!" You yelled while hidding your free breasts from his sight.
"I'm gonna kill you!!!" The turtle in blue yelled and ran towards his brother with a killer look on his face. The big brute manage to jump off and ran into the woods to escape his older brother's rage.
"Leo, i swear that i did not knew that it was him! I thought it was you!" You hold him by his arm and tried to explain yourself. He looked so angry just like the time the Shredder threated to kill Splinter.
"Yeah, you really mistook my smooth and well trained hands by those big and rough green sausages." He says with a deep angry voice. Your eyes started droping some tears.
"I didn't mean to! I was asleep. Please, forgive me!" You begged for his forgiveness.
"And you let him undress you! Do you have any idea about how this make me feel??" He was clearly hurt. But it wasn't your fault at all!
"You're the only one that i love, Leonardo! And nothing will ever change it." You grabbed his face and looked deep in his blue eyes. You leaned onto him and kissed him passionantly. It seemed to ease his anger.
"You're right. I'm sorry for being too rarsh on you. I love you so much, honey." He said hugging you and wrapping his arms along your waist. "Now, i'll go on a hunt for Raph's. And when i'm done, i'll make sure that it'll be clear for everyone to see that you belong to me, and me alone!"
Raph ❤️:
"Hello, my cuddly teddy bear." You said with a cute voice as you heard your boyfriend come to your side. "Look, the sun is kinda hurting my back. Do you mind brushing some sunscreen on it??"
Michelangelo froze there for a moment. Did you really thought that he were Raph?! He felt quite honored, but did not know what to do.
Tumblr media
"Please, Boo, just a little. I may give you a treat later." You teased a little.
The turtle in orange gave a look around to check if there was anyone else around. There was no one near. He took the product and squished it on your back. You laughed as you felt that goo all over you. He soon used his hand to spread it over your back. "Hmmm it feels so good, babe." You moan.
Mikey tried not to giggle as you moaned to his touch. This was definetly the best day of his life. He lowered his hands on your back and stoped up on your butt. "Wanna get these off?" You suggested. He bit his lip and noded. Benching the string and pulling it slythly as he tried to reveal your ass.
"What the hell are ya doin', ya punk?!" Raphael yelled as he saw Mikey massaging you. He jumped off you and you sat on the chair in total shock. "Get yer hands off my girl, right now!"
"Sorry, bruh! Oh, y//n, you owe me that treat!" He said before running off the senario.
"I what?!" You said in counfusion.
"What treat?! Were you flirting with him?!" He asked roughly to you.
"No, Raph! I would never flirt with him or any of your brothers! He just came by and in my sleep i thought he was you. Please, forgive me!" You hugged him by his plastron trying to calm him down.
"Ya seemed to like what he was giving to ya. Am i not enough for ya??" He asked sadly. You've seen him this sad defeated before.
"Of course you are, Raph! You're more than enough for me, you are the best! I love you." You said and kissed him deeply. He accepted and lift you up on the kiss.
"Alright, bird. I got it. And you know what?" He gave your ass a slap with a full hand. You yelp loudly. "We're goin' to revenge on Mikey fucking at his bed. Come on!" He said taking you in a bridal way to the house.
Mikey🧡:
"Hey, my sweet pizza lover." You said sweetly as you felt the presence of your boyfriend next to you. "You know, this was a very long ride to here and my shoulders are still sore from the car seat. Can you please massage them for me??"
Donnie's mind buged for a moment. You thought he was Mikey?! Should he warn you that he wasn't him??
Tumblr media
But, he felt so needy for the touch of your skin. Besides, it was just a massage. It wouldn't hurt. He put a little of sunscreen on his hand and spread it on your shoulders gently. You hummed a little with his skilled movements.
"Wow! Mikey, you are really good at this." You said hapily with the sensation he was giving to you.
Donnie smiled as he made you feel good with his caress. You were so relaxed on his hands and he was so foucused on his task that he didn't noitice Mikey standing there watching them with sadness in his baby blue eyes.
"Donnie, you traitor! What do you think you're doing?!" He yelled at his brother, who immediately took his hands off you.
"Mikey! This isn't what you think it is! I just gave her a friendly massage." He tried to explain himself.
You sat on the chair and gave a strange look at the purple masked turtle. "Donnie?! What are you doing here?!" You asked
"I'm sorry! I just wanted to be nice. I'm out of here!" He got up and jumped off the pool to the rooftop.
"Yeah! Go get your own, brah! This one here belongs to Mc Mikey!" He said as he pulled you to a hug. "You're mine! Only mine! You know that, right, angelcakes?"
"Yes, Mikey, i know. I'm yours! I'm sorry about Donnie. If i have knowm that it was him i you never let him touch me." You said wrapping your arms around his neck.
"It's okay, babycakes. You can continue to apolagize when we're on the bed." He took you on his shoulder and walked in the house with you.
Donnie💜:
"You there, my nerd? I'm in the need for a little foot massage. Are you up for this mission?" You plead for your boyfriend who sat before you at the pool.
Unfurtunatly, it wasn't the turtle you thought it may be. Leonardo only sat on there because he was on the need for some meditation. And the pool seemed to be the perfect and calm place for it. Even with you there it didn't bother him, afterall, you were just quietly taking a sun bath.
But, he did not expect at all that you would mistook him by his smart brother.
Tumblr media
"Come on, D! I'm so tired, and only you can make me feel good." You begged for him to touch you.
He fetl awfull. At the same time he didn't want to interview in your relashionship with Donnie, but he also couldn't handle seeing you so needy for care. He grabbed the oil on a table nearby and used it to massage your feet.
"Hummm that's right, love! A little more to my ankles, please." You pleaded a little, loving the sensation you were recieving.
All Leo could do was smile. Even though you weren't his girlfriend he enjoyed giving some joy to you. But, it didn't last long as his ninja sight spot Donatello watching him from far away. The fire on his eyes as he saw his brother touching his girl could almost burn Leo. The leader in blue felt threated with his brother's falcon eyes and slowly got up, leaving the pool without saying a word.
You asked yourself what happened to your massage. You sat up and looked behind you, and there was Donnie smilling at you. "Why did you stoped?? You were doing great."
His heart hurt a little. He undertood that you didn't knew that Leo was the one massaging you. But he never imagined that he would suffer such a betrayal from his own brother. "Sorry, Dove. Lay there, i'll send you to heaven."

Amalas knew he would come and she was ready for him. This was her moment to shine, to turn up the heat, to lay all the cards on the table. She needed him to know who he was truly dealing with and in her eyes, she was a force to be reckoned with.
For all of her confidence, Liam had his own. If she really believed the deck was stacked in her favor, he was prepared to deal them for her.
Liam noticed her tattered, bloodied clothing and the way she clutched her wounded side, almost immediately. Before he could ask, her eyes motioned to the far wall of her study.
Olivia sat perched against the wall, her long, red hair, matted to her face with fresh blood. A short sword impaled into her stomach and penetrated into the panel she rested against. Liam could feel himself losing it as his eyes widened in astonishment and disgust. Everything in him wanted to run to his longtime friend, hold her the way he did when she was five and cried in her room for her deceased mother. Doing so could be costly and Olivia would be the first to tell him to save himself.
He inhaled deeply, quickly exhaling, regaining control of his emotions and wits. Liam knew Amalas was a dangerous woman, however, this level of evil, took him by surprise. He couldn't afford to grieve or be in shock, one wrong move, or a moment of letting his guard down, could be deadly.
Amalas sidled up next to him, he gave her a sideways glance, maintaining his poise.
"Poor, Poor Liv....tell me Liam...should I leave her nailed to the wall or use her as rug?"
Liam clenches his fists, knowing she is toying with him and he refused to play into her taunt. He clears his throat, redirecting the conversation, "I believe we have some things to discuss".
She lets out a weak chuckle, feeling the effects of her bloodloss, her face starting to pale, breaths becoming more difficult. She slowly crosses the floor, stopping at her extensive liquor cabinet, "Can I offer you a drink first?", she asks feebly. Amalas picks up a tumbler in one hand and catches her balance with the other.
Liam soon realizes she has a mortal wound and without her security in the room, he could very easily strangle her to death right now. Her departure from this life would be fitting, she was, afterall, partially responsible for killing or maming his people and friends. He needed answers, and though Olivia was able to get a good lead on Nikolas, there was one more thing he needed to know.
"The only thing I want from you is answers", he replied, inching closer to her, knowing he has the upper hand. Time was his friend, Amalas wouldn't last much longer without being treated. She was headstrong and ruthless, like their father, he knew it was in her genes to not show weakness.
As the blood continued to flow in small, steady streams down the lengths of her legs, she sipped cooly on her scotch. She motioned to the end of the sofa, as she winced into her position on the opposite end. "You want answers? What would you like to know?".
Liam hiked up his suit pants and sat down on the edge of the sofa, "What's your game plan, why go to such lengths to destroy me".
Amalas let out a soft laugh, biting her lip in pure, unadulterate pleasure. She was anxious to shake Liam to his core and revel in doing so. It wasn't that she hated him, but, all of her training and upbringing led her to believe he was an untrustworthy foe, right behind their father. Cordonians had lavished in riches, but, also a long history of malicious and deceptive rulers. Amalas being half Auvernalian by birth, was primed and ready to expand its territory and bring her Cordonian half to its knees-it was her birthright too.
"Answers", she replied contemptuously,"...where do I begin....perhaps you would like to know more about your Queen's poisoning...or".
Liam grabbed her arm, cutting her words off, "What the fuck are you talking about?".
"Ahh, did Liam's little red haired pet not find out about that? I pegged you both as more intelligent than this", she jerked her arm away from his grip, "I suspect that in all the chaos after the attack and a non-existent staff left, you weren't exactly watching what Riley's new psychiatrist was slipping her.....and with you and your two lackey's away from the country, you've given them free reign".
Liam reaches into his suit pocket, frantic to find his phone. He stands and moves away from the sofa, attempting to get through to his wife-there is no answer. He sends an urgent text to Bertrand, who is staying in the palace with Bartie, insistant he check and stay with her until he returns.
Amalas watched gleefully as she prepared for her next reveal, . "I presume", she interrupted him, "you came to know more about our...connection....dear brother".
Olivia had sent him intelligence that Amalas was, indeed, Constantine's child with an unnamed woman from Auvernal. It wasn't something terribly surprising, his father had several children throughout Europe, all unclaimed, but, known, nevertheless. Amalas, however, was an anomaly-one who wedged her way into power, slipped between the cracks...had Constantine even been aware that the woman who married the King of Monterisso, was his child.
She pushed herself from the sofa, clutching the arm rest for support, her legs wobbling as she made her way to her desk, grabbing a file from the top.
Liam stood, following closely behind her, smearing her blood trail with his footprints. She was within minutes of collapsing for good and he would be damned if he would allow her the opportunity to kill him.
She turned to face him, handing him a small file, her dull eyes searching his face for an initial reaction as he began to thumb through it.
He swallowed hard, his eyes widened in confusion and astonishment as he continued to read and gaze. Pictures and documents, one after the other, exposing the culprit for the mission: Fall of Cordonia. His lips began quivering unmistakably and a single tear dropping, as answers became more clear. His blue eyes losing its gleen, he could no longer control his trembling hands as he drops the file to the floor; papers scattering around their feet.
A large smile tugged at the corner of Amalas' lips...she did it...she got him. With that, she falls to her knees at his feet, and collapses onto her back, her smile faded.
Liam watched her body jolt as she struggled for breath, drowning in her heavily filled lungs. He could let her suffer in this state, but, he wasn't satisfied with that. He walked over to Olivia, grabbing the pommel of the sword ripped into her, pulling it out carefully. After kissing her forehead and lowering her to rest on the floor, he whispered, "This is for you Liv".
Returning to Amalas who was choking heavily and writhing in anquish. Liam pressed the tip to her chest as he watched her eyes seemingly begging him to do it already, to end her pain. He wanted to do it, he was charged to kill her mercilessly. He, instead, tossed the sword aside, allowing her to slowly suffer and die from the wound inflicted by his friend-that was justice.
He knelt down beside her, hovering closely to her ear, "Let it be known Amalas...you were defeated today by Olivia Nevrakis...and that shithead, Bradshaw's neck was snapped in half by Leo...but our mother....I assure you, will reunite with the two of you in hell very soon". He tapped her cheek with the back of his hand and a victorious smirk, "Straight flush bitch...I win".
Amalas exhaled one last time and expired.
Liam stood, scooping up the scattered documents, placing them back in the folder, before exiting the study with them.

Drake and Bastien were waiting a short distance from a small, off the road compound, just outside of the city. They had recieved a text from Liam telling them Amalas was dead, as well as, Olivia. He also had Bastien reach out to his contacts in Cordonia to ensure Riley's safety.
Liam parked his rental car next to Bastien and Drake's, pulling off to the side of the dirt road. While he had been with Amalas, they were scoping the area, trying to find the entry of least resistance, discovering the compound to not be as heavily guarded as expected.
Bastien moves to the back of the vehicle, opening the trunk to a cache of weapons he had prepared beforehand. Drake still bandaged from his bullet wound in Valtoria, watched as Bastien loaded his vest with a variety of high powered gear.
When everything was ready to go, Liam began to follow them, however, Bastien insisted he remain behind.
"My mother has my son in there, Bas, I'm going".
Bastien and Drake gave an astonished look, unsure if what he said was misheard.
"Did you just say your late mother has Nikolas in there?", Drake questioned.
Liam nodded, still unable to process the very words he just spoke, his beloved mother. He told them about the file Amalas had given him before her death, the proof of her current and previous involvement spelled out clearly.
Eleanor was sent to Cordonia by the late King of Auveral, being his longtime mistress, to seduce and spy on Constantine during his social season. Her job was to convince him to ally with their country and use her influence as queen to weaken his stance enough they could overtake him. It worked like a charm, he fell in love with her, yet, Constantine was more ruthless and unshakable than had been imagined.
She played her part well, diverting the crowns money back to her home country. When Jackson Walker confronted her after finding out, she had him killed and fled the country, knowing Constantine would soon know, as well.
Drake and Liam remained hidden as Bastien detailed his plans to get them all past the six, heavily armed guards at the entrance, knowing there were at least two to three more on the opposite side of the wall.
Bastien tossed a Glock pistol to Drake, instructing him on which guard to hit and when. Liam crouched down, his nerves rattled, praying that this diversion wouldn't create a more dire situation for Nikolas. If his mother felt threatened, would she take it out on his baby? Could he be hit in the crossfire? Was he really even in there?
Bastien aimed his high power rifle, signaling for Drake to get ready. Both lifted their weapons, focused on their targets, and waited for the perfect opportunity to strike.
Liam closed his eyes, attempting to steady his nerves, staying hidden at Bastien's insistence. A worried father who just found out his mother is actually alive, can make impulsive, rash decisions that may get he or his companions killed.
"Ready Drake?", Bastien whispered.
"Yeah, I've got my target"
On three, both men unleashed a firestorm of bullets, quickly taking out several guards. They were met by a fury of return fire as they took cover behind trees.
They were startled to see an onslaught of guards exit the compound, many more than were previously thought. As Bastien peaked out to the side, he realized there was no way they could defeat them all before the guards caught up to them.
As bullets ricocheted around them, Bas calculated his next move. Prepared to carry out his duties faithfully, he commanded Drake and Liam to escape further into the woods. Both questioned his tactic and reasoning, but, he refused to say why, just adament they do as he said.
Drake could sense what was about to happen would be devastating. "Don't do this Bas", he pleaded, determined to find another way.
As their enemy moved closer, Bastien grabbed Drake by the collar, "Get the fuck out of here Drake! When it's done, you protect His Majesty and retrieve the young prince...my orders, son".
With tears pooling, Drake hugged Bastien, before he grabbed Liam to run deeper into the forested surroundings.
Bastien readied the pin, holding it tightly in his hand, awaiting his destiny. The gunfire stopped, but, the approaching footprints continued. He laid face down, in surrender. As the compound guards surrounded him, they began tugging at him and forcing him to his feet, hitting and kicking everywhere. Just as the head guard advanced to enact vengence on the killing of his men, and the vast majority of the guards surrounding him, Bastien pulled the pin.
The ground shook as the blast echoed past Drake and Liam, both, now in deep sorrow over the loss of their good friend.
Liam slunk down to his knees, reeling from yet another personal tragedy. There were too many people he loved dead, many of which were caused in order to defend he and his family. As his mind was wracked with guilt and pain, it was the faint cry of a baby that gave him pause. His gaze met Drake's, knowing that they had found Nikolas.
Drake aimed his pistol as he and Liam headed towards the compound, attentive and cautious of their surroundings. As they entered through the gate, Drake shot and injured another guard exiting the home. The sound of Nikolas' cries were now becoming louder and more recognizable.
Stepping over the injured man Drake just shot in the doorway, they stealthily move inside, allowing the unsettled cries to guide their direction.
As they rounded the corner at the end of the hallway, they enter into an open living room. Liam's sight instantly fell onto Nikolas, then to the woman he once knew as his mother, holding the baby in one arm and a small handgun in the other.
"Hello son....I've been expecting you".
