Castlevania: Nocturne is out, and I want to thank everyone for giving the show a chance! It's been an absolute blast working on Nocturne and seeing all the hard work and passion that went into it. Everyone worked their butts off!! Ahahaha I had more to say but I'm too full of emotions to process words well ;;^ w ^
Anywho here's a bonus doodle of these dorks <3

ugh I reallllyyyyy didn’t want to get in on this but like
The assumption that all atheists are people who’ve “never touched a religious text in their life” basically says to me you have a specific view of atheists and have probably not known many.
Most of them grew up IN the system and DO know the text and THAT’S why they walk away.
If you’re gonna make a whole post on ppl not using nuance with CR stuff right now the least you can do is use nuance yourself and not paint an entire group of people with a brush that TV taught you, or a bunch of white men into power *cough* Dawkins *cough* coopted a movement in a society where to not believe in god is synonymous with being immoral.
So just keep in mind, the representation of people without faith that you see on TV or twitter isn’t the majority and 9 times out of 10 isn’t correct at all.
thanks ^_^

Programming is so fun whaatt the hell
I even enjoy the rabbit holes I fall down trying to learn something new/solve a problem; there's so much vocabulary I don't know so I end up looking for a solution and then needing to search "what does [funky coding word] mean" every few mins LOL
And the flow is just so nice once I understand what Im doing! You get into a groove n you're just typing code for hours while listening to music or a podcast or whatever aaaahhh

I really like your comic. Out of curiosity, what are your art inspirations?
that's a really good question with a slightly difficult answer because i tend to absorb bits and pieces of any media i like into my art style lol
(this got a little long, so answer under the cut)
if i go far back enough, i think my first real taste of comics as a medium was Cassandra Jean's graphic novel adaptations of Miss Peregrine
(images copied from her announcement of the second book)
looking back on it now, the overall style is loose and sketchy, but still readable (which are not necessarily words i'd use for my own style lmao) but there's the use of value and solid black that i still strive for. the style is also very manga-esque, but i definitely picked up a few things on drawing faces and action from these books
(her more recent style is a lot cleaner and a lot more graphically complex, but there's still an emphasis on interesting, readable shapes)
there's also Peter Nevins, who did the original cover for the Hadestown concept album (and the cover for the NYTW recording? correct me if i'm wrong). he also did a few covers for Anaïs Mitchell's other works
(i actually drew a piece based on that second cover a few years ago)
he primarily works in linocut prints, which is a medium that kinda forces you to think in terms of value. while i mostly use the stuff he's done for Anaïs Mitchell as an example, i'm also fond of the original work on his shop
over the years though, Drawfee has probably been the most consistent source of inspiration? it feels a little weird to call them that, especially considering the fact most people know them as a comedy show, but i've been using their speed draw videos as background noise for ages now
i'm really fond of the atmosphere that they've created with their channel, and it's been so fun watching and growing in art skill alongside them (and sometimes having my vocab for the week be utterly destroyed by one of their bits)
there's definitely way more people i could name (CanisAlbus and asmeesh here on tumblr) and a huge pile of webcomic artists (Tracy Butler, Meg Syverud, Sarah Webb, Petra Nordlund—there's so many) but this post is already unreadable so i'll stop there lol
thank you for the ask, and thanks for reading Outsiders :D!!

My darling Niece wants to be Dolores for her school’s Book week! (I’m not sure they do this outside Australia), It’s a themed event to encourage reading, and on the last day all the kids dress up in costumes as various characters from books (characters from comics, TV, and movies all count too because 1. most popular medias generally have book tie in’s for kids and 2. They’re kids, the point is to have fun!) and walk in a small parade for all the parents and teachers to coo and awe over~
It was a particular favourite of mine growing up, I've made a Minecraft Steve head, a Harry Potter wand and styled an Elsa wig for their previous years, but this year I’m going hard! I really enjoyed Encanto myself and I couldn’t be more delighted by her choice in character this year, so Unkie Kens pulling out all the stops and I'm teaching myself how to make the whole thing from scratch! and yah’ll get to watch me fumble and stumble my way through it ╰(*°▽°*)╯

Your headcanon about Moon being in charge of the animatronics' "nap time" is biblically accurate!! (to the unused content that is but still!👍)
i pride myself on my canon compliance B)
it's also such an interesting tidbit tho?? there seems to be a lot of conflict for what moon's backstory and purpose actually is in the games vs the books..
cause the books say moon being it's own entity was a "glitch" that they couldn't remove and that they were actively preventing it from coming out even before the virus infected everything... but then the games have all these small things like the daycare's nighttime mode, moon's overwhelming presence in parts & service, and whatever vanny is using it for that imply that moon is intentional and possibly even more important that sun is???
it's all so confusinggg... especially now with eclipse officially added to the mix @ _ @

random project no.1
Ok, maybe I have "finished" my project for this week. OK, maybe it isn't super finished but, I already have a basic functionality, and I liked it.
It's just a simple website where you can consult your elo on league of legends, leaguecheck.sophias.codes, maybe in the future I'll add the feature to view the match history idk.
Although it's simple I like it :)
Idk, I think that I spent too much time to do too little, Idk why but I have this feeling.
I used nextjs, react and tailwindcss, I learned a lot from this project.
The responsivity isn't bad, but could be better.
Also learned how to do a night mode switch, a feature that all my next websites will have.
That's It O_o
This album is soooo dawn good, I love lofi hip-hop sooo much omg. My fav tracks are "Infomercials & Heavy Eyelids", "Wii" and "Goomba", in this order.
I'm thinking in making a post for my main blog about this tmrw, nothing too extravagant.
