first: fixed up the schedule on the desktop theme (removed awesome stage, added idol radio live event)!

second: i'll be out of town tomorrow (july 25th) - most of the next day (july 26th) due to a funeral, with most of that being traveling. i'll try and get the dekira updates up before i leave, but more than likely won't be able to since i'll be leaving before they usually get posted. i'll have my laptop with me though so expect them later that night (for me in cst)! same will go for the next day, i'll get everything taken care of when i get home! 💕

Thank you for tagging me @veeteeshirt! This year was a great one for me creatively! I feel like I’ve really grown artistically. Surprising, considering the circumstances. In chronological order, with artist commentary;

1. L5R NPC Portraits

I’ve never shared these before, but if i’m going to do an end of year favs thing, I need to include these. I did these portraits for one of the L5R campaigns I GM, and they were so important to me figuring out my style and how to mesh it with procreate. In all honesty, they’re probably one of my favorite things I’ve done in my entire life. I just love them! The brightness and boldness; their design! I’m so proud of them.

2. Kai, Book One

Another watershed piece for me. The posing! The drama of the warm red surrounded by cool purples! Kai’s expression! This was also the first thing I ever posted to the Wayhaven tags.

3. 31 Days of Wayhaven – Day 1, Sharp

My first piece for 31 Days is one of my favorites! The perspective was fun to do, and I love their expressions.

4. 31 Days of Wayhaven – Day 3, Mirror

This piece was so fun to do, and one of my favorite details is the color I added to Farah’s face! BUT ALSO this was how @masonsfangs and I became friends!!! 🥺💕

5. Nate enjoying tea

No commentary. Just... that’s a good Nate.

6. Nate and Nat faces

Again, nothing to really say, I just really love these faces. The strawberry portraits I have to fight the urge to go back and tweak things, but the expression sheet? Amazing.

7. Felix Flower Portrait

Man I was ambitious with this, and I’m happy with the result! I learned a lot, I used different techniques than I normally do, and I’m really happy with the rendering on the foliage. Again, I have to stop myself from going back and tweaking his face, but still a good piece!

8. My Detectives

My children. 🥺 I love them all, and this was another step in refining my style. I need to not... hold myself to whatever style I see in these portraits, because that just ends up disastrous. :D

As anyone that’s read my fics can probably guess, I like writing fluffy smut.  I do occasionally veer into mild-moderate angst, but it’s always gonna have a happy (and probably smutty) ending.

Least fav is not so much a genre, but I’m with @lellowberry--I hate writing transitions and all the connecting/explanatory bits that are needed to make the bits and pieces and scenes I'm inspired to write into longer, hopefully cohesive stories.

3. Favorite character to write for.

Frankie, Din, and Marcus Pike are my true loves, but right at this very moment, I’m having a lot of fun writing Benny?

4. Which of your works is your favorite?

Okay, look... this is like asking me to choose which one of my children is my favorite--I can’t do it.  They’re all my favorite. (Though I do maaaaaaybe, kinda-sorta have a soft spot for the domestic fluff and desperate-but-loving smut that is A Warm Welcome Home.)

5. Which of your works was more popular than you thought it would be?

Definitely An Acquired Taste, which was my first fic ever, so I was expecting maybe one or two people to read it.  It now has over 500 notes and is still my most popular fic.

I was also surprised at how popular a couple of my shorter headcanon things have been--specifically: Ezra is too Verbose (for His Own Good) and Frankie Agrees to Eat You Out in Front of the TF Boys.

6. Which work is less popular than you thought it would be?

Honestly, everything I’ve posted has been way more popular than I expected. Call it imposter syndrome or whatever, but I’m just sort of perpetually surprised that anyone even wants to read my stories? 

Currently the two that have gotten the least attention are Made With Love and One of Those Days.

7. Which of your works was the hardest to write? Why?

Of the fics I’ve actually managed to finish and post, It’s All About What You Want was the most difficult. I have already bitched extensively about why it was so hard, but short answer: lack of experience, questionable choices, and bad timing. 

8. What is your favorite fanfic(s) by someone else?

Until We Meet Again - Sesshōmaru writes a confession he’s waited five hundred years to make…in a love letter, nonetheless. This was the first fanfic I wrote after my decade-long hiatus from the Inuyasha fandom. So this vignette holds a special place in my heart ✍️ 💖

Promise to You - A story about cherished friendships, a mother’s redemption, a father’s undying love, and a forgotten promise, told in 100-words. This was a supposed to be a fun, side project, meant as a distractor from The Moon is Beautiful. It’s young SessKag as friends, and I didn’t think I’d enjoy writing chibi SessKag as much as I do. I’ve kind of neglected it a bit, but I’m determined to keep it going this year.

If You’re Lonely, Wake Me - Kagome gets snippets of an alternate life via dreams, each time it snows. My first fic submission for the 2020 SessKag Prompt Raffle Event. It’s my first major fic submission for any SessKag event, really. It’s also my first time writing a one-shot of this length (>11k words) in one sitting (as in not drabble). Lordt knows I struggle with words and grammar.

The day one prompt that wasn't actually finished for day one and took so super long to finish! 😂 This one will always hold a place in my heart going forward as it's my first EVER written piece for Wayhaven with Unit Bravo. Before this I'd only ever done a small piece for Aria, and Aria alone. I was so super nervous about releasing this into the ether because of that, but everyone was so nice! Reading all the kind tags in the reblogs made me tear up, they made me (and still do make me) so happy. I have no words to thank you all. 💕

4. (Holi)days of Wayhaven! Day Fourteen!

I couldn't see paper airplanes without thinking of Felix - and thus came my first ever time writing Adrien! A lot of firsts in this, clearly. I definitely don't like this one as much as my Lori piece, but my mum actually enjoyed this one so I can't bring myself to dislike it! I do plan to write more Adrien going forward though, so hopefully my next ones will make me feel happier- speaking of...

Day 20! The one I managed to finish early!! I'm still unsure where I stand on it honestly. I thiink it came out okay? I even used the schedule function to have it autopost! I feel like the more I dwell on it the less I like it though, so I'm just going to leave it at that and move on 😌

Mother-daughter bonding, hot chocolate style. I'm feeling a little better about this one, especially after lovely comments. I do want to write more Rebecca, maybe one day I'll even feel good about how I portray her 🤣

My first attempt at writing Layton! I'm really, really unsure about this one. No dialogue, just pure introspection is unfamiliar to me. I did it though! Finished the prompt on time and all 😊

I have a procrastinating problem. I get overwhelmed. Good news, now that requests are closed for now, I have time to get to them without more getting added to the list. Bad news, it will be awhile before all of them get done. I am sorry that you and others are dealing with fandom fallout (I've seen some of that) and it isn't great for people to get hurt by it. What matters is now that people know, they can try to prevent it from continuing, and stop their support of a wrongful/guilty party.

(I don't know how y'all are so patient with all of this, but thank you. I hope y'all are okay and taking care of yourselves. Drink some water, hug a stuffie, and watch some comfort shows🧡)

Weekly housekeeping updates!! Added a link to the ask with the info to watch/listen to Dekira so that you guys have an easier way to access it every day to the pinned and about page on desktop, as well as added Dowoon's YouTube channel to the pinned and links desktop page (because for some reason it had bypassed me???)! Added Awesome Stage to the schedule on the desktop theme and links page for future tagging stuff. There’s also a link for event announcements on the links page now!

There’s now a backlog of all the lives the boys have done since the blog was created under their respective live tags, but I plan on queueing in some others from this past year (I believe there’s about 3!) so that you guys have a list of VODs to go back and watch since we’re all in different timezones and are easy to miss, and I’ll keep it updated for each new one they do from here on out! If there’s an old VOD outside of that timeframe you want here for reminders sake or from a certain time frame, let me know! I’ll get it here!

Speaking of queueing, I’m going to try queueing things instead of posting them all at once! It spaces things all out a bit throughout the day, and everyone in different timezones might see things a bit easier and that way your dashes aren’t flooded with the day’s events, especially when they all decide to do things on a singular day hahaha. Let me know if you prefer that (I think it will be better). 

I also plan on keeping updated with all releases and will be posting audios for everyone to post to their blogs/download if they’re not available internationally like ‘Better Day’ was. Those’ll be under the respective tunes tags! Announcements for new music will be under respective releases tags! If there’s an official release of a DAY6 song (Main group, EoD, solo releases) that’s not on Tumblr yet, let me know, I’ll post it here! 

Also a reminder that it’s Sungjin’s last day at Station-Z this week! Sad to see him go, but excited to see what content we get next from him! Make sure to tune in to show him support!!

1. somewhere only we know - i said it yesterday already, but it think it’s my favourite fic i’ve written 🤧 idk why, but i think it’s kinda haunting me, in a good way. i just love these two very much, and i’ll always remember writing the dream scene like i was in some kind of trance

2. my walls x lungs edit - because here are quelsentiment, we support the flourence agenda 

3. say it back, aka the first fic thing i’ve written - i don’t necessarily think it’s my best work, and hopefully my writing has gotten better with practice, but i’m still very attached to it. some of the comments i’ve had on this fic still blow me away, and it makes me insanely happy that some people could see themselves in the characters. also, ace representation 😌✊🏻

4. my zouis x through the dark edit - i mean i did my best to carefully craft all the posts in this series, but this one hits on a whole other level, because it’s zouis and because it’s ttd

5. ready to start - officially the first friendship fic i’ve written posted. i’m not always in the mood to write romance, and it’s HARD, so fics focusing on friendship instead are a nice reprieve from that, even though i know approximately 2 people will read them 😅 but at the end of the day, 1d is all about friendship imo, both between the boys and between all of us. so yeah, this is me trying to pay homage to that

and on that note, i just want to take the opportunity to thank all the people who have ever supported me with my creative endeavours this year. from the bottom of my heart, thank you 💕 it really means the world to me, and i don’t even know if most of these things would have seen the light of day if it wasn’t for you

1. made for lovin’ you. putting it first because it’s what took me the longest to finish and it’s a fic so v different from what i usually share on here. im proud of myself for managing to finish it and im very happy with how it turned out. i quite like the gifset and moodboard i did to illustrate it as well! 

2. 1d tenth anniversary gifset. it’s the gifset that took me the longest to make. im very happy with how it turned out and was very pleased to read that people liked it. i had lots of fun making it and got distracted watching too many old vids too so it was nice.

3. walls album gifset. i have so many fond memories with this one. i started making it like a day or two before the album came out so it was really rushed in between other promo/perf gifsets. it was also the first time i made a gifset with +10 gifs so it was fun. 

4. hl as peter pan and captain hook gifset. i think it’s easily one of my favourite gifset. i got the idea in the middle of an exam and was so ready to search for vids to make it. i pushed it back a few times because i was a lil hesitant but when i finally finished it i was really happy with the result. it’s not something i do too much but i really liked the process behind it and the reaction was nice too. 

5. prince harry gifset. got the idea in the middle of an exam as well lmao. i just really like each gif individually and i think the colours are nice and a good fit all together. these are a lot of my favourite harry moments and looks so a good compilation overall.
