Arash Sadeghi Has Been Released

Arash Sadeghi is one of the most respectable Iranian activists. He has been arrested multiple times since 2009 for his activism. He was arrested recently in October 14, 2022 and finally, after months of being tortured, he has been released.

Arash has been diagnosed with a bone tumor and while in jail, he wasn’t getting the necessary treatment. 

I can’t tell you how happy the Iranian community is that Arash has been finally released. All political prisoners must be released!

Arash Sadeghi is being slowly killed in prison. Please read below!

Arash Sadeghi is a 36-year-old Iranian vocal activist detained by the Islamic Republic.

He has been diagnosed with malignant bone cancer without access to medical care while in detention. They have denied him the care that he desperately needs to fight the cancer.

His life is in danger. Please be his voice!

Arash has dedicated his life to be the voice of people, specially prisoners that are unknown.

His dad has made a Twitter account just to be the voice of his son. He taught himself how to make clips and made one for his son. After posting it, he said “there was no one else to do it so I did”.

This family needs our help. Arash’s wife, Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraee, is also in prison. Be their voices!

Iran: Jailed cancer patient tortured in prison

Critically ill prisoner of conscience and human rights defender Arash Sadeghi is being tortured through the intentional and purposeful denial of his access to cancer treatment, causing him severe pain and suffering. A serious post-operation infection has developed in his right arm due to lack of care in prison, leaving it swollen, paralyzed and without sensation. He has also been denied critical bone marrow tests to monitor if his cancer has spread. His life is being put at risk.

Ten intelligence agents raided the home of former political prisoner Golrokh Iraee Ebrahimi and detained her without presenting a warrant on Nov. 9. She was taken to Gharchak Prison south of Tehran, apparently to begin serving a two-year prison sentence for the charge of “insulting the supreme leader,” upheld by the Appeals Court in early September, according to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners. Iraee has been free on bail since April 2019 after serving 3.5 years of a six-year prison sentence primarily for writing an unpublished story about stoning in Iran. To date, she has not returned to Evin Prison in Tehran. In a press release, UN human rights experts expressed alarm over the deteriorating health of jailed human rights defender Arash Sadeghi and called for his immediate release from prison. Arash, who has been arrested and jailed on multiple occasions for his activities in defense of human rights, was arrested again on October 20, 2022 for unknown reasons and placed in indefinite detention. He is being held in Ward 209 of Evin Prison. Arash was reportedly interrogated for 8 hours and tortured. “Arash Sadeghi suffers from life-threatening bone cancer, and he has been deprived of some medication he requires since his arrest in October,” the UN experts said. Arash was arrested for the first time in 2009. He has been arrested and detained several times since. During previous arrests, Arash went on hunger strikes, notably to protest the arbitrary detention of his wife and his own poor detention conditions. The UN experts have communicated on Arash’s detentions to the Islamic Republic through 5 official letters sent between 2016 and 2020. The communications raised concerns about Arash’s arbitrary arrest and detention, violations of his right to fair trial and due process, and his poor detention conditions. The experts specifically highlighted that the activist had been deprived of medical care.
