archie is either a little sick or has suddenly become very snuggly because she puffed out to the max tonight and now she is sleeping in my hood against my neck. it’s suuuuper adorable, but i’m also a little worried. i’m trying to stay cam and just enjoy the snuggles for a while. i’ll give it a little time.

last night archie discovered that a glass can contain water which means A NEW PLACE TO BATHE. so she was super cute standing on the rim of my water glass trying to get at the water in it to take a bath.

but the glass was only about 3/4 full because i had stupidly not anticipated her needs and was only expecting to be drinking out of it, so for her to get to the water i had to tilt the glass a bit.

the other thing about glass: it is very slipper when wet.

so of course these factors combined with her violent enthusiasm for bathing caused her to eventually lose her footing and fall head first entirely into the glass of water.

she’s totally fine, but it caused a couple seconds of panic for everyone involved. and now it’s hilarious! she’s just a very silly bird who loves taking a bath more than anything.

Archie Update

She finally started her 6 month molt! Archie already has a couple new wing feathers. I'm so excited for her to be fully flighted.

Also I've been playing budgie videos for her on my phone and she started imitating some of the sounds back at the bird. Only every now and then but it's so cuuuuute.

Archie being sleepy in her new cage. She is so happy. She’s in the living room now so there are people around her more often. She loves hearing us talk and chatters happily every day. Still working on getting her to trust my hand, but it’s progressing. I love her so much.
