I got tagged by @katsigian and @quickhacked to do a couple picrew games, and I finally got around to them
Starting with this one:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We have of course Nathan first, then his half brother Jude. Nathan grows his hair out a couple years down the line. Eventually he goes back to his natural hair color too because the bleaching is damaging, but not quite yet. Jude always is and always will be a bastard of a man, he honestly doesn't change much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then it's overly fancy Avery and tomboy Victory. Avery's eyes are cybernetic and pure white with a black ring, the picrew didn't give me many options for getting that across. It got the hair right though. And Victory got her short spunky hair that she dyes to match her own cybernetic eyes.
I used this picrew for the rest:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First up is Vito, followed by Theron. Aside from Nathan these are the two I tend to talk about most, they have the most going on in their lives. Vito is a full blooded werewolf so I took advantage of getting to give him a tail. And Theron got his slightly bitchy face.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then lastly, ironically, the two I haven't fleshed out as much as the others. To be fair they are my two newest. Angel, and Viper/ Julian. Angel is Avery's cousin, as netrunners they have a bit of a rivalry (if one-sided. Angel is very good at what they do). Viper is a hacker as well, if a little more nefarious. He's Jude's boyfriend, too, and they kind of enable each other's bad traits.
I'm a little late to the party so I'm not sure who hasn't done these yet, so this is an open invite to go make your ocs and show them off 💛

And really, it's hard to regret having so much family around when Calypso's story started off with her being an unwanted child in need of a loving home. She's found it!

Warrior Angels (2002)
My rating: 6/10
This feels more like a D&D campaign than anything to do with the crusades, though that's not necessarily a bad thing - it's just an adventuring party of all-female characters fighting Rutger Hauer, and doing it with comparatively little breasting boobily. Reasonably entertaining, for what it is.

I really hate that the conventional wisdom about “Rejoined” outside the Trek bubble I'm in is that it's just a sweeps week episode made to boost ratings and/or that the metaphorical nature of the reassociation taboo means that it 'doesn't count'. (As well as the oft-repeated 'Dax used to be a man so they're not really gay', which always struck me as so hilariously tone-deaf in its bigotry...)
Don't get me wrong, the former argument isn't untrue and yes the episode doesn't actually make any direct reference to lesbianism or bisexuality, but also how do you watch “Rejoined” and remain completely unmoved? It's such a thoughtfully crafted and heartfelt episode, the director (Avery Brooks) and the actors (Terry Farrell and Susanna Thompson) clearly cared about what they were doing, and imho it well surpasses the context in which it was made

With excitement and joy, I'd like to announce Book 2 in the Capturing You series,
Holding on to You!
Tumblr media
It is 2024 and Avery Thompson and Joe Burrow are entering the third year of their relationship as well as trailing off of the Cincinnati Bengals' second AFC Championship loss in a row. Months away from graduating from Xavier University with a degree in education, Avery feels more secure in her life and relationships than ever before, interviewing for jobs teaching photography in high schools all across Cincinnati and growing closer to her dad. But Joe, reeling from the pressure of seeking victory under the microscope of fans, the media, and those around him, may be losing his grip on what—and who—he cares about the most.
The first chapter will be published TONIGHT (2/17) at 6 p.m. Central.
Read the official announcement on Wattpad!
Like and reblog if you're as excited as I am!

Most people who know Avery would say she's "focused on work", "career and goal oriented", "a corporate ladder climber". It's really that she's not found much interest in the other things society might expect of her. She's not inclined toward a romantic relationship, there's no one who sparks that particular interest in her; and no one ever will. If she ever chooses to be in a partnership, it will be one simply of mutual trust and respect and care, not much more. Loving in a way different than relationships around her. And that will suit her just fine.
