Even tho I barely did anything, I feel a little flutter of excitement and pride hearing certain voice clips in BBKART because I was able to help record them lol. The trickiest one was the Gatling wheelchair mob's laugh, since it counts as environmental sound, so I had to be sure I got far enough you couldn't hear the gun, and also that I stopped moving in time that my hunter's footsteps didn't ruin it.

But actually even harder was the Doll's death gasps, because I had to murder her in cold blood using poison knives... But it was worth it for BBKART 😤

Mixed feelings about the Bloodborne Kart news. My instinct is that new stuff is better than old stuff, so the fact that sony has forced the issue and BBKart now has to be rebuilt as an original property, that means less old stuff more new stuff.

But also, I'm against brands specifically. Smaller artists making fanworks is actually something I'm greatly interested in. Old stuff is good when it's people showing you what they loved about the thing they're riffing on. Which in a way, even original works ultimately boil down to this.

On the other other hand, can BBKart be remade into an interesting original work in the short time left in its development?

#lilith answers #4.25 was the version bbpsx was made in #cuz it started development in 2021 #and bbkart is a fork of that codebase #so its still in 4.25 #and i dont want to upgrade versioning mid project #as that will just slow everything down by the bugs upversioning would introduce

now that 'not-bbkart' is no longer just a fan game i feel like the standards are higher. because of this im adding full native thumb stick support into the control scheme and will probably be adding some other features as well down the line.

(and before anyone asks: no, bunlith wont be the new main character she's just thrown in to temporarily replace the old hunter model while we work on the redesign she'll def be a secret special unlock tho so dont worry 🙂)
