Give me a kiss~

pairing: park hanbin x g group! reader
genre: canon, fluff
tw/tags: too much fluff, kisses, lap sitting, pda
wc: 705
summary: phanbin teaches you his favorite Korean phrase 💜
a/n my heart is still so, so sad after the finale and phanbin deserves all the love and I hope he can have a successful debut soon.
Check my pinned for more fics~
“Okay, say it back to me.”
Hanbin sits cross legged on the practice room floor in front of you with you mirroring him. It’s only been a week since he confessed to you. He’s had a crush on you since the star level test. While he tried his best to express interest, you were painfully shy when it came to anything except performing and usually stuck to the other foreign trainees.
When you came to congratulate him on hot sauce’s win at the k vs g group battle, he figured that he had nothing to lose before the first elimination and finally expressed his feelings. You saying yes had been a pleasant surprise.
He had been even more surprised when you chose Law team along with him. It was nice spending time together especially now when your questions about rap lyrics turned into an impromptu Korean lesson.
He smiles patiently, almost endeared as you stumble through the phrase he’s trying to teach you, mangling the last two words. You bow your head slightly in embarrassment and he fakes exasperation, sighing dramatically.
“Ah no, no, no, listen carefully, I’ll say it one more time.”
He scoots forward, taking your hands in his. Your gaze snaps back up to meet his eyes. You can’t help but watch his lips move as he repeats the phrase for you.
“Have you got that?”
You nod, still caught up in the feeling of how warm his fingers feel entwined between yours. He squeezes your hands ever so slightly but still doesn’t let go.
“Now your turn.”
Hanbin looks at you expectantly, still smiling. You try your best to look at him as you say it.
“뽀뽀해줘.” (bbo-bbo hae jwo)
Before you can ask if you pronounced it correctly, Hanbin leans over, his lips brushing against yours briefly. A peck. If you aren’t already flushed enough from dance practice, your cheeks are definitely red now. Hanbin pulls back, eyes playful.
“That was perfect, one more time for me?”
You duck your head and he lets go of your hands only to cup your cheeks between his palms, making you look at him again. Then, Hanbin pouts.
“Come on jagiya, one more please?”
“뽀뽀해줘.”
You squeak out and he brings your face towards his, the kiss lingering a little bit longer. Your hands attach themselves to the front of his shirt as he pulls away. You hide your face in his shoulder, trying to let your cheeks cool down. Hanbin laughs, fingers carding through your hair.
“Aww, are you embarrassed, jagi? Are we feeling a little shy?”
You huff and he laughs even more, cooing into your ear. When you don’t move, the dramatics resume.
“Ah, you don’t even want to look at me right now. Did I do something wrong??”
You roll your eyes and he continues to whine, pulling you closer and closer to him until you’re practically sitting on his lap.
“Come on, please look at me.”
He quiets down as you lift your head, tilting your chin up and surprising him with a sweet little kiss that effectively shuts his brain off.
You’re so cute, he’s going to die.
Meanwhile…
The rest of the Law team watches their leader’s display from the other side of the room, expressions ranging from secondhand embarrassment to barely concealed disgust.
“But-“
Yujin speaks up as he tries to bat away the hands covering his eyes (because they need to protect the child)
“-they already speak Korean well? Why is Hanbin-hyung teaching them that?”
“Well if they want to play dumb for a few kisses, then I think that’s on them.”
Kamden deadpans from where he’s sprawled across the floor.  He exchanges glances with Zihao, it’s an unspoken rule among the G group to use their ‘foreigner status’ to their advantage although that backfired sometimes *cough evil editing.*
“Honestly, they can do whatever they want as long as I get to lie here a little longer. Hanbin’s going to kill us the moment we start practicing again.”
Yedam groans quietly from where he’s lying face down.
The rest of the team murmur in agreement. They promptly avert their eyes from the couple as Hanbin’s voice reaches from across the room.
“Now teach me how to say it in your language, jagiya!”

Mentor? I Hardly Know Her!
Tumblr media
wc: 2.6k pronouns: none used; reader belongs to a mixed gender idol group warnings: a couple swears; fluffy fluff; the last sentence is very flirtatious but its just meant to be a joke and obviously so is the title summary: kum junhyeon is totally smitten with planetmaster/idol!reader in this semi-accurate fictional retelling of boys planet episodes 6 and 7 ~bp masterlist~ ♡ ~kofi (no pressure at all)~ i literally adore little kum junhyeon
Standing in the hallway in front of an intimidatingly large set of doors, you wring your hands nervously as you wait for further instructions.
This week, you had been asked to participate as something called a "Planet Master" on a new Mnet talent survival show called Boys Planet. Having been an idol for over five years now, you had been asked to make dozens of appearances at award shows, promotional events, concert tours, and fansigns with your group...
But this was your first time being asked to head a solo appearance. Being the leader of your group, as well as the main vocalist and the choreographer, you were used to playing a role similar to that of mentor. At the very least, you had experience providing your members with help, guidance, and oftentimes comfort throughout the past five years.
Waiting inside the set of giant doors was a room full of 51 ambitious boys that wished to shed the label "trainee" and finally debut as an idol.
You remember it like it was yesterday: your life as a hopeful and terribly sleep deprived trainee. It was admittedly unpleasant a good portion of the time, but it ultimately led you to be able to achieve your life's dream.
"We're ready for you in three..." A producer says now, forcing you out of your thought spiral. As he counts two, one, and cue on his fingers, the giant doors begin to open for you to walk through and onto the set.
Planting each lug-sole boot-adorned foot carefully on the ground as you walk forward, you make your best effort to appear as cool as possible as you make your entrance.
You figure eating shit in front of fifty boys on international television is not the best move for your career or your self esteem.
The lights brighten and then dim slightly on the stage to signify your entrance as you finally set your eyes on the group of trainees standing in lines on a set of risers. You watch as the first one spots you, eyes nearly popping out of his head as he points and stares at you in awe.
"Really... REALLY!?" The petite boy shouts, prompting the rest of them to look at you and begin reacting similarly. You stand there a bit awkwardly, mic in one hand and script card in the other. Unable to contain your laughter at the trainees' over-the-top reactions, you bring the script card up to cover your smile.
You clear your throat lightly into the microphone to get the rowdy boys' attention. After a few seconds, the noise finally dies down as the trainees look up at you expectantly with the widest of eyes.
"Hi Boys Planet trainees! I'm leader and main vocalist (Y/N) from Virtual Reality."
"WE KNOW!" One of the boys shouts.
You giggle and continue with your lines. "Today I'm here as a Planet Master to announce your Second Mission and to let you know I'll be helping to evaluate your progress this week. The Second Mission is: Dual Position Battle."
~
You finish your appearance with care and diligence and are asked to stick around to greet each trainee that wishes to meet you. Apparently, every single one of them wishes to meet you and their undying enthusiasm makes it easy for you to happily oblige.
You've seen a few familiar faces so far and wished many boys luck on their journeys, conveying sincerely that you look forward to working with them later this week.
"Congratulations on the win," you say to your old friend Kim Jiwoong. "I look forward to your debut. What is it they say? Third time's the charm?"
He rolls his eyes and laughs, pulling you in for a hug. "I'll make it come true."
As he pulls back, he points behind him to another member of his team this week.
"This is Kum Junhyeon," Jiwoong says, pushing the boy forward. You recognize him now, the silly, but very talented trainee that was always shouting in the first few episodes. A bit of concern seeps onto your face as this usually outgoing boy stares back at you in what appears to be immense fear.
"I'm so scared of you," Kum Junhyeon confirms quite earnestly, causing you to laugh.
"Oh? What's so scary about me, huh?" You tease.
He sighs. "It can be terrifying for a man to unexpectedly come face to face with perfection in his lifetime."
You'd be lying if you said you didn't feel your breath hitch in your throat. Now you're the one staring with wide eyes.
"This kid," Kim Jiwoong scolds, patting his back. "But can you really blame him?"
"Sorry," Junhyeon apologizes, but there's a look in his eye-- a look that is much more like what you're used to seeing on Junhyeon-- that suggests he doesn't really regret his words.
You smile slowly. "Sure you are."
The brightest grin spreads across his face now, clutching his heart a bit in a humorously dramatic display. You laugh as Jiwoong starts to drag him away.
"Why'd you do that, huh? Now we'll never get him to shut up," the older boy whines as he shoots you a death glare. You just wave as you watch Jiwoong and another trainee push a babbling Junhyeon out the door.
~
You've seen eight teams already from the Vocal & Dance and the Vocal & Rap categories. You stuff a granola bar into your mouth as pH-1, Lee Seok-hoon and Choi Young-joon finish filling out notes for the last team.
In the back of your mind, you can't help but wonder why you haven't seen that kid from the other day yet. Isn't he a singer?
The Rap & Dance teams start to shuffle in through the door now as you stuff the wrapper of your granola bar into your bag. The last person to enter is Kum Junhyeon.
He doesn't look fearful today. He looks kind of sad.
"Ggang team, let's go," Young-joon announces, prompting five boys including Junhyeon to stand up.
They line up in front of your little panel, Seok-hoon asking to hear a run-through of their rap and vocals first. As the team performs, all except Junhyeon sing and rap with enthusiasm. His eyes stay locked on his paper as he seems to do only the bare minimum.
When they finish, the Star Masters in the room nod as they think. As they're checking their notes, you turn to Seok-hoon.
"May I say something?" You ask politely, to which Seok-hoon nods enthusiastically.
"Please do," he allows.
You nod, chewing on both cheeks as you look down at your paper. "Kum Junhyeon."
The silence in the room is deafening before Junhyeon finally responds, "Y-... Yes?"
You look up, meeting his eyes now with a completely unamused expression. It takes everything in you to hold it when Junhyeon suddenly returns to looking like Bambi.
"Was this supposed to impress me?"
Junhyeon's mouth falls open slightly and so does everyone else's in the room as they take in your rhetorical question.
"I've been waiting for your performance all day and that was all you've left me to sit with. Am I supposed to feel this insulted? Was that the intention?" You ask, not letting up.
"No, no! Of course not. I'm sorry, sunbaenim," he apologizes and you're sure he's never looked so sad in his life.
"The only form of apology I'll accept is a good performance," you say, now all of your effort going towards suppressing a smile.
He nods vigorously.
"Well, I don't have any other notes," Seok-hoon confirms, nodding at pH-1 in agreement. "Young-joon, are you ready for the dance?"
But Young-joon is staring at you. "Wow... I will pray for your members daily from now on."
You can hear the boys sitting on the left side of the room chuckle. "I think it's important to make sure the most talented people are performing to their potential," you say with a smile, the whole panel turning back to watch the Ggang team's full performance.
As you expected, Junhyeon performs flawlessly-- an energy radiating out of him that is utterly infectious.
"So..." Young-joon starts. "Will you forgive him?"
"Oh, um..."
Looking up, you see Junhyeon biting his lip so hard in anticipation that you're afraid he'll start bleeding.
"Yes," you answer simply with a smile.
Junhyeon suddenly falls to the floor in a full bow. "Thank you, sunbaenim!!"
Everyone bursts into laughter as he sits up, absolutely beaming at you.
You click your tongue, looking around disbelievingly as you can't help but smile back at him. "Just don't do it again, yeah?"
He nods furiously.
"Good job," you praise softly, sinking back into your seat as the Ggang team's evaluation concludes.
~
"Open wide," Kel-C says, popping a piece of caramel popcorn into your mouth lovingly.
On the screen of your dorm's giant television, this week's episode of Boys Planet is coming to an end. This means, your appearance is soon to be aired any second now.
"I can't believe you went without us," Eunwoo whines with a pout. "Do you not need us anymore?"
You laugh, ruffling up the hair of your maknae. "I'll need you for as long as you need me. And maybe then some."
"Yet you're out here getting caught in dating scandals left and right," Mari accuses, scrolling through her phone disinterestedly as she stirs the metaphorical pot.
"What? Left and right!? That's--," you stutter, caught off guard by her statement. "That's hardly true."
"OH MY GOD!" Eunwoo cries, taking both of your hands in his. "You met someone while you were filming!? Who!?"
"Ssh! Look, it's happening!" Kel-C shouts, directing everyone's attention back to the television as music signals the appearance of someone on the stage.
You cover your eyes as past-you comes onto the screen, the elements of the set becoming so hilariously dramatic for your silly little entrance. Mari bursts into laughter and you groan in response.
You watch through your fingers as the camera pans to capture the reactions of the boys. Most of them are appropriately excited to see you, jumping around and shouting with their friends.
But one reaction in particular has you suddenly ripping the remote from Eunwoo's hand, rewinding the show and crawling towards the television to make sure you're hearing and seeing properly.
"Seriously..." Kum Junhyeon stands uncharacteristically still with Taerae and Jongwoo on either side of him. "How am I ever supposed to perform in front of the love of my life?"
Taerae laughs, comfortingly patting Junhyeon's back. "It'll be okay."
The screen cuts to a confessional of Junhyeon. He's biting his lip, almost shy as he speaks to the camera. "(Y/N)-nim has been my crush since Virtual Reality debuted. There's nobody else like (Y/N)."
A producer off camera says, "You looked like you'd seen a ghost."
Junhyeon laughs lightly and then nods. "Unfortunately I couldn't react with proper excitement, because I was so nervous. I hope I can be forgiven for this."
The producer off screen speaks again. "Maybe aegyo will help?"
Junhyeon grins now, his voice becoming child-like and his hands producing two finger hearts. "I'm sorry, sunbaenim! Saranghae!"
You hit the pause button, hugging your knees to your chest tightly as you failingly try to suppress a squeal. What was wrong with him? How could he be so careless? And how could he be so damn cute?
As your members suddenly yank you back towards them, shrieking their simultaneous approvals and disapprovals, all you can hear is that absolutely crazy boy confessing his love for you on international television.
~
"ARE YOU INSANE!?" You yell, smacking Junhyeon's shoulder in the hallway behind the stage.
The mission two show has already begun and any minute now, you are supposed to make your way backstage to introduce the first team: Junhyeon's team.
"Yes," he answers seriously. "Please hit me again."
Your eyes widen, guffawing at the absolute nerve of the kid in front of you. "Junhyeon! Are you really going to be this reckless? Don't you want to debut? You know that people won't vote for you if you keep acting like this."
He nods. "You watched the episode this week."
Unsure of what to say, you just sigh.
"I meant it," he says simply, eyes staring back at you sincerely.
"It doesn't matter if you meant it. You're... Junhyeon, you're so talented. You really have a shot here. Please don't waste it on saying cute things to me."
He smiles. "You think the things I'm saying are cute?"
You can't help but laugh now. "I can't stop you, can I?"
"No," he confirms. "Unless you really want me to. I don't know if you've noticed, but... you haven't actually told me to stop yet."
An exasperated sigh escapes you as you seriously consider hitting him again. "No. I guess I haven't."
He grins. "Do you have your phone on you?"
"Yeah," you say, pulling it out of your pocket. "Why?"
Before you can even react, Junhyeon gently snatches your phone from your hands. He holds it in front of your face for a second to unlock it.
"Hey, what are you--?" As you begin to protest, he finishes typing something and hands it back to you. You look at the screen to see a new contact by the name of Hyeonni.
"You can delete it if you want. But I had to try, right?" He smiles so sweetly that all you can respond with as he walks toward the stage door is:
"Right."
With the Ggang team all lined up on stage, the boys make their individual introductions.
Reading your line from the teleprompter, you direct your attention towards Junhyeon to speak. "Trainee Kum Junhyeon, I heard that the atmosphere was not good when this team was formed. What happened?"
He nods, bringing the microphone closer to his face. "When we got Ggang, I was perplexed," he begins, using his whole body to speak in that classic Junhyeon way. "I thought of the opportunity as a crisis."
You expertly suppress the urge to facepalm.
~
As the Ggang performance begins, you watch from offstage as the team shows off their talents. Junhyeon's choreography and all of the members' raps are absolutely killing with the audience. But you're ripped out of your spell of admiration when you hear someone suddenly shout:
"SUNBAENIM!" Junhyeon yells, pulling up his shirt to reveal a t-shirt underneath with a set of washboard abs printed on it. A camera is on you immediately, trying its best to caption your reaction and you're absolutely sure it's TV-worthy.
"Do you think this is too reckless!?" Junhyeon sticks the hem of his over shirt in his mouth as he proceeds to "seductively" gyrate his hips.
Both of your hands are covering your gaping mouth, eyes wide as you're unable to look away from the absolute maniac of a man on stage. Junhyeon turns around, humorously sticking his butt out and wiggling it around.
You find yourself unable to contain your laughter now, shaking your head in disbelief at the boy's impossible antics. Yet, in an instant, Junhyeon returns to his professional self, completely annihilating a dance break and singing perfectly the funny new lyrics he wrote.
In the confessional from the episode you'd watched this week, Junhyeon had said there was no one else like you. You wonder now if he knows the same is true about him.
After the performance is finished, you run out the backstage doors into the hallway. You only have a minute or so to pull out your phone before you have to go back inside to introduce the next group of contestants. But its enough time to send your new contact a text:
You're a fucking enigma.
Smiling like an absolute idiot, you send a follow-up:
Dinner's on me if you show me what's really under the shirt.

When you have a stan account dedicated to them
Jiwoong, Keita,Jongwoo,Taerae, Wumuti
Genre: fluff, but a little bit sad on some parts :((
Requested: How about Jongwoo, Jiwoong, Taerae, Keita (and anyone you want to add) reacting to you having a stan twitter account dedicated to them lol? (Anonymous)
Author's note: I think I didn't specify it as a twitter account in some of them,so I hope you're fine with it anon. I added Wumuti because I'm this close to create an account for him I'm not even joking, although it is a little bit sad so beware of it. Hope you like it :)) (Might be a little bit long haha I got carried away 😛)

The boys know that you've been supporting them for sure watching boys planet and that you've been rooting for them however, they didn't expect you to take your supporting that far.
Jiwoong
☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After days and hours of practice and hard work Jiwoong was able to take a breath as the dual position battle had finished. He felt so proud of being able to go to Mcountdown with his team at last, his efforts paying off.
He called you immediately excited to let you know about his week. You picked up really confused to his sudden call, but smiling about his happiness.
You asked him if you could spend a little time with him and go celebrate it to a nearby restaurant, you offering to treat him to which he accepted with a smile on his face, making him look like an idiot talking to his phone.
While waiting for you to arrive he decided to search his name on Twitter to see all the support he had been receiving from his fans. He looked at each one of the posts with such detail and care, as he though of how everyone had dedicated him time, so he opted for doing exactly the same.
While looking carefully at all the letters, messages and pictures, one particular post stood out to him, it was a picture with a short but sweet message attached to it:
-Not only my boy is an awesome actor but he's a really talented rapper, singer and dancer so please vote for him. Jiwoong hwaiting!!!
He found it so endearing and flattering how he was surrounded by amazing people who were willing to make him debut, however what caught his attention was the photo that followed the message.
He found it oddly familiar for some reason but couldn't figure out why, until he finally remembered, that was a photo he hadn't published in his social media, that was indeed a photo he had only sent to you to cheer you up on your exams.
His thoughts were interrupted by you calling his name from afar.
"Jiwoong"you called waving your hand at him.
He smiled fondly and reunited with you to go eat together, interlacing your hands in the process.
"How you doing, baby?"he asked you
"I should be asking you that you winner!"you responded giggling and expecting him to answer.
"Well, it has been a rollercoaster of emotions"
"Oh, I could definitely tell"
You guys continued with your conversation as you were eating, and when you were asking for dessert he confronted you about the post he found suspiciously similar to all you were telling him throughout the lunch, throwing him lots of compliments and sweet words.
Does the account Jiwoong's number one supporter sounds familiar to you?"he asked naturally.
You were taken aback for a moment right there, until you laughed awkwardly saying: "ha.ha.ha no, I don't know what that is"
"Well, that's funny cause I've only sent this photo to you" he said laughing it off and smiling cutely.
*Oh, I forgot about that*you thought to yourself.
He watched as the smiled was washed off from your face, realisation hitting you like a truck.
He awaited for a response as you finally buried your face in your hands, accepting defeat.
"So it really was you" he smiled dedicating you a look were he expressed all his admiration for you while taking your hands in his. "No need to be embarrassed about it love, I find it really cute"
You looked back at him and laughed softly at his antics: "Well it's not like I've told any lies there" you responded.
This only made Jiwoong want to pamper you with kisses till he was satisfied, but instead he sat at your side and hugged you tightly, as the later option was best for you to not be redder than you were, besides you were still in public.
"I'm so thankful y/nnie"he broke the hug and pecked you quickly on your forehead just before the desserts arrived.
Keita
♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Being Keita is not an easy job, being that talented is difficult. How can someone be so good at everything? He's good at singing, dancing, rapping, producing his own songs. Lirerally perfection.
You as his girlfriend had always wandered how he could be such a perfect all rounder, but most importantly you always kept thinking how he could be yours.
However, as good as he was (like he excels at everything) he was also human, he struggled, he had his own worries and preoccupations. So when you caught him one day a little lower than usual you decided to listen to him and he decided to open up to you sincerely.
He talked about how Ciipher needed more support and that they weren't going through their best moments, although he sweetened it with other words, saying he wanted another challenge so he decided to audition to boys planet in search of an opportunity to debut.
And of course you supported him, how could you not? He deserved the entire world in your eyes and even more than that.
A few days after passing the auditions for the programme, he was preparing his song with the other japanese trainees "Zero for Conduct" and helping them as well with their korean.
When the practice ended he decided to visit you and rest for a while before going back to the doorms, where he was working with his team mates.
When he got to your house the first thing he did was look for you on the sofa, where he knew you were gonna be for sure watching a movie, a series or just scrolling through your phone, turns out the last option was the correct one.
You were so immersed on whatever you were doing you didn't even felt his presence behind you, making it a perfect opportunity for him to surprise you. He got close from behind with the intention of scaring you, however when he saw you were writing from an account by the name of keita's-simp he couldn't help but forget his plan and say out loud : "What are you doing right there?".
You jumped a little bit and looked back at him hiding your phone under a pillow.
"God damn Keita, don't scare me like that!"you told him back.
"No but seriously, what were you doing?"
"Oh, nothing important really, just watching videos honestly"
"So you are hiding your phone due to...?"he looked at you oddly.
"Due to you scaring the shit out of me?"you answered with an obvious expression.
He shrugged it off and accepted your response, although not very convinced of it.
After spending some time together just talking casually, you excused yourself for a moment to go the restroom. He wanted to take a look at whatever you were doing before, which he considered quite suspicious imo, but he wanted to respect your privacy. However, when he was about to continue with his activities your phone received a notification from that Twitter account, which he had seen previously. His curiosity gaining the best of him made him check out that little message, leading him to an account dedicated completely to him. He began scrolling through the posts revealing all kinds of sweet and short supporting messages.
He smiled revealing his cute little teeth and thinking of thousands of ways to tease his bae, until seeing that some of the posts dated from 2018 approximately. He was still a trainee back there so, he was confused, like really confused.
"Alright I'm ba-"you were saying when you saw him scrolling through your phone on your account.
"Are you looking through my things without my permission Mr Terazono?"you asked furrowing your eyebrows.
"Are you using an account named keita's-simp?"he asked you ironically and with a smug grin.
"Ye-, yes I am"you answered shyly.
"Then why are some posts so old?"
You sighed, knowing you couldn't escape the situation at all : "Well that' because YG TREASURE BOX started by that date".
He couldn't help but smile thinking of all the time you had been rooting for him : "Oh, really?"he raised his eyebrows in a teasing manner.
"Yeah..."
He got closer to you causing you to back off and fall to the sofa, as he then hugged you like a koala being on top of you.
"You don't have any idea of how thankful and blessed I am to have you"he said hiding his face
You just smiled at him and caressed his hair softly, making him fall asleep and not go back to his doorms, and although he was scolded, he didn't regret it in any way.
Jongwoo
☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jongwoo had been struggling on his path through Boys Planet, and although he was fighting for his dreams,he didn't find it as easy as he thought.
At first, he started smoothly with his group having good reviews and feedback from the star masters, which gave him some hope about his future. However, as the revaluation came and his stars dropped he lost some confidence and self-esteem.
Later, the K vs G group battle begun, where he was able to portray a better version of himself. He was even questioned why his star were so low when he had the talent and the ability to do more, that felt great to him, being praised for your hard work was amazing and it made him feel very proud. And it all payed off as his team won and he got the privilege to go to Mcountdown.
Then, the dual position battle arrived and he was pushed from the team he wanted, hurting his pride on the process. He wanted that team so bad and it just slipped through his fingers like it was nothing. Nevertheless, he slayed his performance anyways and could win individually. He felt relieved once again and really joyful. How could he not when his purpose of debuting started to make sense.
That leave us to his next mission, the Artist battle. He worked so hard for his song, Over Me. He suggested choreo, lyrics and lead his team perfectly. So being kicked out of it felt so wrong, it hurted so much, it made him think that he worked for nothing. He wasn't able to fight for what he wanted. When he got to the Switch team, he was really discouraged so he decided to not apply for the killing part.
Right now, he was preparing for a little event with star creators, which somehow gave him the strength to continue and give an amazing performance. However, when the curtain fell there were more than star creators, there were everyone's family and friends. Jongwoo could distinguish his friends from everyone else filling with giddiness and excitement. They were performing before people they cared about, and that was everything that mattered to him.
When he got time to talk to his friends he felt nothing but pure happiness.
"Jongwoo, you are doing great!"commented one of his friends.
"Thank you so much for coming guys, I appreciate it so much"
"Yeah, we've been watching all your performances and all twitter support you"someone said.
"You have lots of fans that support you!"
He was so happy to hear that, no one could imagine.
"Speaking of, there is this particular account that I see literally everywhere, they are really big fans. Look here it is"they said as they showed him.
He looked carefully and realised something, that way of writing was really familiar to him, way too familiar. And then something suddenly clicked, that was his girlfriend's way of speaking right there. How could he be so bland? All this time in the programme and he didn't thought of you once, how could he be so self absorbed?
After that day, in which they discovered it was a evaluation from their relatives and friends, he decided (although not adequate) to sneek from the planet camp and go to your apartment. He might regret it later, but at the moment you were the only thing on his mind.
When he got there, he unlocked the door and saw you preparing some food for you to eat, he felt so lucky to have you in his life. He hugged you from behind, hiding his face on the crook of your neck while you smiled knowing already who was the one that initiated that sign of affection.
"Hey baby, how's everything going on boys planet?"you asked him while still cooking peacefully.
"..."he didn't answered but started kissing your neck softly instead.
"Hehe that tickles"
You stopped smiling once you started to hear a silent whimpering sound.
"Hey Jongwoo, what's wrong?"you asked him as you stopped everything you were doing and turned around to see his face.
"Nothing, it's just-"
"Come on tell me" you encouraged him while whipping off his tears softly.
"It has been really hard, and I've just been so concentrated on winning that I forgot about my own girlfriend's existence, I've just missed you so much but couldn't think of it myself and-"
You silenced him by pressing a soft and sweet kiss on his lips, he corresponded eagerly and once you pulled apart you said to him: "Look, I'm not mad at that, I understand how hard it has been for you and all the hard work you've put in every single performance".
"Yes, but seeing your account has hitted my sensible spot"he said.
"Hahaha, you know I'll always be your number 1 fan. I'm so proud of you for raising so much on the rankings and having so much support from star creators".
"You are amazing, you know that? But jongwoo's-wifey, really?"he teased you.
You blushed at his remark.
"Well, I'm just being a fan, what do you expect?"
He giggled silently and got closer to your ear saying: "Well, if so you must call me your husbie"
"What?"
"Husband"
You turned redder than a tomatoe if that was even possible, getting away from him and hitting his arm playfully.
Did he mean it? We'll never know 👀
Taerae
♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It had been a really tiring day for Taerae, practising por Switch was nothing but easy. It was complicated for him as his dancing didn't stood out as the best, but could you ever be mad at it? No, his singing made up for it tho (and the dance is really fast paced, so💀💀💀).
He practiced and practiced and practiced, and practiced once again lead by phanbin,a really detailed person and a perfectionist, but at least being as strict as he was with the dance moves was helping him improve in some way.
All the hours and effort he had put into the performance were starting to make everyone tired, so phanbin decided to let everyone go home and rest for the next day.
When Taerae finally got home, he couldn't help but wanting to take a shower and just sleep for 3 days straight. So that's exactly what he did. He took a cold shower as he had sweated so much and as he was changing to something comfortable you got home being greeted warmly by your boyfriend.
"Hey y/nnie, how was work?"he asked you
"Exhausting actually, how's your practice for the Artist battle going tae?
"I can't wait for you to see it" he smiled brightly at you.
After showering and changing clothes as well, you both decided to just go with a session of cuddles and a movie for you to rest from your respective work and to just enjoy your time with each other.
You put a silly rom com to lighten your moods and basically to have it as background noises as you knew perfectly you would just talk through it.
You were resting your head on taerae's chest as he had his arms wrapped around you securely and protectively, leaving you reassured of nothing bad happening to you.
Right after finishing the movie (it was really bad, like horribly made), you excused yourself to go to the kitchen for a snack, he decided to enter Twitter and see what all star creators were up to. He saw from letters to drawings to threads looking carefully at every post were he was being showered with love and affection from his fans. However, he saw an account that looked familiar,it was his more loyal fan account taerae's-dimples.
He laughed once again at the silly name the person had opted to name the account. However, there was something really heartfelt about the way that the posts were made.
Not only did they complimented his physique and his looks, but they also bragged about their vocals and the way he had improved his dancing, knowing himself he wasn't a perfect dancer he appreciated it a lot.
They talked about how he laughed when he was with Junhyeon, about his adorable and lovely smile, his cute dimples, his amazing personality, how he was loved by lots of star creators, and the list goes on.
He was grateful for all his fans, but something about that particular person, just made him really like them .
So was his admiration for them that he decided to thank them personally (well not like face to face) using wake one's account. He slid through their dm's writing a short but sentimental message to them that could express all his feelings towards them.
He then pressed the send button and smiled satisfied of his little act of service, when suddenly your phone rang with a notification. He actually didn't pay much attention to that til you came back with some pizza and pop corn for you to eat while watching another film you both had chosen.
While eating, you checked your phone and saw Taerae's message:
-Thank you so much dear fan, thank you for always being there for me and supporting me in every way you can. It means so much to me, I'll show you a better version of myself. Hwaiting!!
You chuckled and laughed internally at Taerae, he was so sweet with everyone it made you fell more for him. You turned around and said to him:
"You can't be cuter seriously"
"What?"
"Your way of thanking your fans is adorable"
He looked at you confused as you showed him his message on your account.
He couldn't believe it, all this time and it was you.
"That was you?"
"Yeah"
He started laughing uncontrollably and looked at you with his mouth opened.
"Really, why are you like this?"he asked sighing.
Now you were the confused one: "huh?"
"You were making me fall in love over again, I can't stand you" he said while bringing you to his arms, too embarrassed to let go.
You giggled softly and hugged him back : "I'm just simply too cute"
"You sure are darling"
Wumuti
☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The 2nd elimination had finished in boys planet and it was a little bit disappointing for you, a loyal supporter of your boy Wumuti. Placing 34th felt so close yet so far, feeling sad about it and can't help but worring of his current state as well, if it was hard for you to watch you couldn't imagine how hard was for him to experience.
There were a mix of emotions on the pit of your stomach, sadness, anger, pity, empathy, to name but a few.
You knew he wanted this so bad and seeing all his efforts on the Switch team being gripped out of him felt so wrong. Hearing him say he couldn't see the performance if he wasn't there was tough as well and you felt so bad for him.
However, this was not the end, you knew it perfectly. Now he had lots of more fans who supported him making you feel like all your promoting didn't go to waste. Yes, you did have an account dedicated to him, how else would you help him be voted by star creators? Your main purpose was to help him raise in rankings, but the most important was to be there for him as his number 1 fan and help him be happy chasing after his dreams.
Right after this, you decided to not be discouraged and still ask people to support him everywhere he went and with everything he did.
You suddenly heard the bell ringing, making you leave your phone immediately and run to the door suspecting who was gonna be at your door. When you opened it your guesses were right, it was Wumuti himself waiting for you to let him inside. He was standing there with a serious expression that changed when you opened the door to the biggest grin you had ever seen in your entire life.
"Babyyyy, I've missed you so muchhhh"he said hugging you tightly, a hug that expressed perfectly all his emotions.
You hugged him with the same passion throwing yourself at him in order to not have any space left between both of you.
"I've missed you moreeee, let's go inside first"you insisted.
As you entered your apartment you gave him a sweet kiss which he gladly accepted smiling right into it.
"I can't believe they've eliminated you when I've been working my ass off to promote you, people are blind I swear to God!"you finally let out your irritated state.
"Promote me?"he asked, confusion being present in his features.
"Yes,I think I've never used Twitter so much in my entire life, I have probably used it more in 2 months than ever"you showed him your phone with your account.
"Wumuti-ti-ti's-girl? Do you have an account for me?"he asked shocked, he really wasn't expecting that.
"Of course, what did you expect from me?
In that moment he felt the luckiest person on earth, wondering how could he deserve you and all your love for him.
He felt so overwhelmed by it tears started to fall from his eyes, we don't know if they were from sadness from being eliminated or from happiness from having you on his side or from both of them.
When you saw him like that you absolutely panicked at first, but you snapped out of it and brought him to your arms carresing his hair softly.
"Shhh it's okay baby, just take your time"
Instead of hugging you back he just (gonna die) let you comfort him telling him sweet words filled with truth on them.
When he finally stopped crying he separated his face from your shoulder and made eye contact with you dedicating you a soft smile that melted you.
"You mean so much to me you don't have any idea, I don't know what I'd do without you"he said sincerely.
"Well, you probably wouldn't do much"you said teasing him.
"Probably"
"But, I love you like that"you told him kissing his cheek.
"I love you too"
"Now let's talk why certain people don't deserve to be there as much as you do"
"Babe, no-"
"No yes, I will fight Mnet and some star creators I swear it".

Wrong Place, Wrong Time, Wrong Everything || Pt 2
The Vex tunnel shone like a distorted Warp space, neon latices forming and shattering, pieces of half-manifest Vex debris appearing and vanishing in an instant. Echo gripped the dual helm sticks she used to steer for all they were worth, desperately trying to keep on course while praying she wouldn’t burst into splinters.
“Echo! I see an end!” Whisper shouted, her guardian barely hearing her over the turbulence. “Keep holding on, we’re almost out!!!”
The cockpit shook violently as turbulence intensified, and for a moment, Echo thought she was going to be crushed by the sheer g forces pushing on her. Then, like the snap of a rubber band, they were out, the light of the Vex net vanishing as they escaped into real space.
The Velocimancer wobbled its wings, it's nose dipping as Echo throttled back and tried to regain her bearings. “We’re not dead?” She asked, blinking stars from her dazzled optics.
“Not yet,” Whisper answered quickly, “but we’ve got hostiles! Dog fighters ahead!”
The shapes of round, black ships with wings like twisted candy wrappers roared and twisted as long, more conventional shaped ships chased and were chased by the black candy fighters.
"What in the absolute-" Echo began when Whisper cut her off. "FIGHTERS UP TOP, DIVE 90-0-23!"
Echo pushed her flight sticks forward and down, sending her ship into a sharp nose dive as two fighters roared passed, swerving to avoid hitting her. Blue light trailed in the wake behind her as she went, but as she looked up from the front, she saw her position had revealed a whole space battle happening above her.
Two huge ships glided through space, trading canon fire like ketches of the Old Crews but bigger. Part of her thought of the large war freighters the Cabal had stationed protectively over the Last City, Psion star fighters ready to launch in their hanger bays, or that the Shadow Legion had stationed on Neomuna with their destructive Nighthawks and tanks.
Around one flew the black, candy-shaped ships, their engines roaring like angry ascendant hive knights. Meanwhile around another flew the white, needle-nosed ships trading red laser fire for green with the black ones. But with them were also odd ships that looked something like an Arcadian jump ship but with no wings and only its engines secured to the main body. What kind of ship was that?
Echo shook her head and glanced at her ghost. "Oh boy, Whisper triangulate our current position and get us the heck away from these guys. I don't want to be part of whatever party these guys are having."
Whisper chirped and extended her scanning reach. "Got it - ECHO!"
"HOLY--" Echo hauled on her helm sticks, maneuvering her ship as she threaded through a knot of fighting forces. In the moments the hunter had looked at the battle and glanced at her ghost, her ship had soared down and around the main part of the conflict only to find herself in the other half of it! Unbeknownst to her, she had come in at a split vector, right through the middle of the main forces of fighting and unfortunately like all dog fights, forces move.
"Hang on!" she shouted and shifted in her seat, weaving and juking as she tried to thread her way out of the battle. Finally, she saw an opening and took it and a whole planet opened up to her.
A planet! Her ship was made for interplanetary travel! If she could get down there, she could do a warp snap perpendicular to it, allowing her to get past the atmosphere and get to cover before she ended up mince meat for these dog fighters.
With that in mind, the long nosed jumpship wove its way through the fray, dodging red and green laser blasts as Echo tried to escape from the battle. With any luck, the other fighters would be too busy to worry about a blueberry like her. After all, from the looks of the war carriers, they had much bigger problems to deal with.

On How Styling Can Change Outcomes
This post is about how styling choices affected the outcome of the Dual Position battle on Boys Planet -- click read more for my thoughts on how sex appeal matters.
So, in my final analysis of the Dual Position battles, I came to the conclusion that Zoom was one of my two favorite performances of the night (along with Limousine), and I was left to wonder why they didn't win the audience vote that night.
I came to the conclusion that they were seriously hampered by the fact that their outfits weren’t remotely sexy. Seriously, people vote with their genitals, a lot of the time, whether they know it or not. If someone gives you that sparkly feeling in your pants, it makes you want to vote for them. But the Zoom team, in their giant basketball shorts and unflattering athletic socks and gross lollipops and big, childish hats -- they were not sexy at all.
Tumblr media
They’re not elegant, they’re barely cute. If you met them for a date and they were dressed like that, you'd be disappointed. ::Shakes fist:: STYLIST NOONAAAAAASSSS!!!:::
Meanwhile, look at who won: Love Killa, Tomboy, and Law.
Obviously, Love Killa is sexy. They’ve got Mr. Sexy himself as their center. They look like they’d smell like Noir de Noir by Tom Ford.
Tumblr media
For Tomboy, they were dressed in form fitting outfits, and General Gunwook had the gun show on display. They also wiggled around suggestively. They look like they’d smell like whiskey and Armani Code.
Tumblr media
Law’s team were also dressed in form fitting outfits, they were grabbing their thighs, they were rapping in deep voices, and plus, they had Park Hanbin there to remind everyone that his abs are still there, right under his shirt. They look like they’d smell like new sweat and Old Spice.
Tumblr media
Sparkles in everyone’s pants for these teams!
But maybe not so much for Zoom. Based on their styling, they look like they’d smell like dirty laundry and Doritos.
Tumblr media
Look at it. Keita looks like a SQUARE. Like his body is a SQUARE. Ollie, too.
Please understand -- I'm not making fun of the trainees, not at all. This is not a commentary on their appearance or bodies. I'm only talking about how they've been styled. I’m sure any of these guys could be sexy, or at least, appealing looking. Ollie and Hyunbeen might be a bit too young to be sexy-sexy-sexay, but they could do the cute kind of sexy that boy groups do. You know, like NCT doing Touch.
Tumblr media
Imagine Zoom, but they’re in jeans and colorful t-shirts. Like a little bit of a Gee by SNSD vibe, but more masculine. The outlines of their bodies would be clear -- no squares. Make them look like they smell like clean laundry and cookies. The vibe is that they're saying that you want to zoom in on them and take P-I-Cs of them because they're so good looking. Then they’re taking first place. Easy peasy.
I think it’s a shame, because their performance is so much more fun than Law and so much better suited for MNET Countdown than I think any of the other performances were.
Ok, thanks for reading!

ranking all 12 boys planet episodes
disclaimers:
i didn't go back and rewatch all the episodes bc i don't have time for that but i did look at some of the youtube clips and the live + post-episode discussion threads on r/boysplanet to refresh my memory
the overall score is mainly based on how fun/boring the episode was and how much evil-editing was involved
i may or may not have been a bit too harsh with the scoring idk
12. episode 1 (2/10)
pros:
everyone looked so happy here (minus jiwoong who just wanted to sleep), back when they didn't have their hopes and dreams crushed
i enjoyed the brief snippets of the trainees fighting for the p01 seat, wish we could've seen more of that
funny moments:
when hui sang for the p01 seat "battle" and jihoo immediately gave up lol
cons:
i'm sorry but i've always found when the mentors talk to be extremely boring and they talk soooo much in this episode 😭 literal snoozefest
speaking of the mentors, i also don't like it when they laughed at the "bad" performances, like i'm probably just being sensitive but i always felt bad for them 😭
i don't like how much they also keep talking about the k vs g group thing like wdym you guys are besties (also it was just boring)
they also talk a lot about the trainees' dreams and how they've trained for so long and while i think that's sweet i also think it's kinda boring
11. episode 4 (2.5/10)
pros:
most of the training segments for this episode were just boring and sad but the two teams that didn't fail me were both hot sauce teams, like it was just good vibes and not really a lot of conflict
speaking of hot sauce, this was the first episode where we got good screentime and storyline for ollie and phanbin like yessss we love to see it
also some parts from the training segments that i did actually like were when yugeng and yang jun made up and when yedam gave up the killing part to shanbin, idk i thought those were pretty sweet and selfless moments and the mentors didn't show up so
cons:
the training segments were boring and sad and i snoozed through them
also daeul got evil-edited really badly and krystian got evil-edited even more which weren't fun to watch
10. episode 7 (2.5/10)
pros:
some more of my favorite performances in this episode, namely tomboy and limousine, which are S-tier and A-tier respectively. boy do i love the dual position battle performances
while i once again found some of the training segments to be boring i did enjoy nslocb and limosine teams since they didn't really have a lot of conflict and it was just good vibes
funny moments:
the rush hour conflict was not fun but i will say i laughed so hard when ricky and seongmin side-eyed the camera 💀
i know this was supposed to be a serious moment but the haobin massage scene made me laugh so hard 😭 it just felt so intimate and sudden that all i can do is just laugh. also the live chat comments were killing me
cons:
more evil edits yayyyy /s. this time we have the continuation of jingxiang's evil edit from episode 6 plus shuaibo which weren't very slay
once again, some of the training segments were really boring. i'm gonna specifically complain about butterfly bc they set up a whole storyline for junseo only for him to still get last? like girl what was the point of that other than making him look bad
9. episode 2 (3/10)
pros:
i like the part when they react to the first episode together it's fun and i do love seeing them laugh and compliment each other
some cool performances in this episode (nunu nana, the real, shut down), i actually liked these more than the episode 1 performances. the real is S-tier while nunu nana and shut down are A-tier for me
the training segments for the signal song test were a mixed bag between boring and not boring but i did enjoy seunghwan helping daeul and phanbin helping hui, i thought those were sweet. i think i enjoyed those moments bc they were wholesome and the mentors weren't talking LOL
the part where they call their parents made me cry but it's such a touching moment and idk it warmed my heart <3
funny moments:
woongki dancing to my bag in the middle of the night
cons:
same problem as the first episode, i found the mentor comments to be super boring and i sleep through them like how jiwoong slept throughout the entire song level test
some of the training segments were also boring and also just made me sad, especially when the trainees get scolded. also there's too many mentor comments zzzzzz
most of the signal song tests were pretty boring to watch and were honestly a drag. i think it's a combination of i don't like seeing the "bad/mid" performances plus the mentor's comments are boring
8. episode 3 (3.5/10)
pros:
i liked their dorm room shenanigans those were cute
i actually did like seeing the good signal song performances mainly bc they went by quickly and the mentors didn't speak much LOL
idk why but i find the part where the trainees pick their teammates for the k vs g group battle to be so fun, i liked the intensity of finding out the top 10 and waiting to see who the trainees will pick and what song they'll pick and stuff like that
funny moments:
anthonny's eye roll when it was revealed that the next mission is k vs g group again like bro same
when they were about to pick teams and haruto's like "GUYS don't forget about me remember when we ate together??" and then him running towards honghai's team in mach speed like 🫶🏃🏻‍♂️ when he got picked
when g-group burn it up team was trying to figure out who has the best abs and they weren't impressed by yutaka's skdlfjs
the arm wresting competition was so fun to watch, g-group needs to drink more milk or smth idk
cons:
the part where they practiced and filmed the signal song performance video was boring idk
i've noticed that this show tends to follow the exact same formula where right before a team is about to perform they like do this flashback where they show the team struggling but then it's ok all turns out fine and dandy in the end, which like makes sense ig since you gotta show the backstory and create sympathy towards the trainees but i still find it boring LOL. idk i just don't like seeing them sad and it just feels like it drags along forever to me
there's also some not-so-fun evil-editing moments in this episode, specifically with krystian and kinda jianyu which is sad
7. episode 9 (3.5/10)
pros:
i did enjoy the part where the switch and supercharger teams had to recruit other trainees into their team like idk i thought how they tried to convince them was fun to watch
the outdoor games they played were fun and a vibe
i also really liked the numerous eliminated trainees cameos/mentions in this episode like during that one outdoor game where they had to find their baby photos or when some of the eliminated trainees showed up to the guerrilla showcase for the trainees whose parents couldn't make it or when some of the eliminated trainees showed up to the artist battle live performances to support their friends 🥺
funny moments:
when shanbin pretended to get kicked out of smn when he just needed to use the bathroom like my guy just likes to do a little trolling
when phanbin revealed he learned the switch choreo just for funsies so he slayed getting the killing part
the en garde prank and seunghwan being an amazing actor like get that man an oscar, i'm convinced inyeon ent saw this segment and thought "we need to recruit him"
kamden twin reveal! and their awkward interaction LOL
cons:
ok i know i said i enjoyed the recruiting segments but the trainees getting kicked from over me and smn was just sad
once again the training segments were really boring, honestly probably more so than the previous missions since the mentors seemed to be more present this time around making it even more boring (idk if they actually were more present but that's just what it seemed like to me)
this episode is the second part of the smn conflict and probably the worst out of the three. people were relentless with him after this episode like mnet why do you hate matthew so much what has he ever done to you
6. episode 10 (3.5/10)
pros:
i love love LOVE the little prince musicals. as someone who loves watching musicals this is definitely one of my favorite things they've done on boys planet. the performances were all so fun and i loved seeing them rehearse and it was such a vibe. so many cute moments like gyuvin, yujin, and gunwook "fighting" over hui, hiroto and takuto pairing up together and seungeon forgetting his lines but not giving up and haobin and gyuhui slaying
this episode also has say my name aka THE superior song of 2023, this song won the artist battle, got a perfect all-kill, and won 29304823 daesangs in my heart <3
funny moments:
when they were guessing who the next star master is gonna be and phanbin guessed tbz juyeon, gyuvin guessed hwanhee, and woongki guessed ariana grande
ricky and ollie being paired up for the musical and ricky doing kabedon on ollie and them getting 0 stars for whatever reason 😭
junhyeon just making stuff as he goes during the musical
cons:
honestly this is kind of a minor gripe and doesn't actually affect my feelings towards this episode that much but i'm still salty about how mnet never released everyone's musicals 😔
more boring training segments yawnnnnn. these conflicts are getting so repetitive it's literally just the same thing: mentors check the team, mentors and dissatisfied, the trainees practice more, the mentors are happy. like bro at least show them singing/rapping more instead of just making it all about dance
FINALLY the smn conflict ends and i was pretty satisfied with the ending but i will forever be salty with mnet, like girlypop there was absolutely no need to drag that on for three whole episodes
also my bird died while i was watching this episode live so
5. episode 11 (6.5/10)
pros:
the outdoor games they played were so fun, lots of funny moments from that segment. some cute moments include phanbin's reaction to being a spy and hiroto's cute "dance battle" and "tteokbokki" aka when i lost the idgaf about hiroto war
also there weren't any training segments in this episode thank GOD
funny moments:
when over me team was doing the pulling up pants game and kuanjui just straight-up bit ricky's pants in his crotch area and over me started playing in the background 💀
leejeong doing badly at the spinning elephant game and everyone in over me team thinking he's the spy only to change their minds at the last minute for some reason?? (the fact that leejeong later revealed that he wasn't pretending to be bad and he did actually get dizzy but the editing made it seem like he was acting bad on purpose makes it funnier LOL)
matthew unintentionally getting the word right during the whisper game
the smirks gyuvin and somi gave to each other
cons:
normally i like elimination episodes but ngl this elimination wasn't as entertaining mainly bc there weren't a lot of trainees left. i was gagged by hui and gyuvin making it since i thought they were goners but that was it. also everyone just looked sad during this elimination idk maybe that's just me
everything after the eliminations (when they were picking teams and positions and choosing the killing part) was kinda boring ngl BUT i will admit i actually didn't catch the ending of this segment bc i had a critique for my art class so like maybe i'm not the best judge for that LOL
4. episode 5 (6.5/10)
pros:
as mentioned before, idk why but i really enjoy watching elimination episodes, especially after the episode is aired. idk i just like the suspense and the trainees trying to guess who will get called up and their reactions when someone's name gets called and the trainee being all shocked and everyone congratulating them and idk i think it's sweet. also i love the "hints" the star master gives they're so silly it's like playing six degrees of separation
also there's no training segments thank GOD
i love all the trainees' little intros and how they paired up based on the best mate contest those were super cute
the dance battles were all fun, idk nothing much to say here they all slayed
can i just say i was absolutely GAGGED during the hot sauce announcement like wdym all of k-group survived with some of them barely making it in. phanbin crying from happiness was so heart-warming 🥺
gunwook and hwanhee gossiping during the entire elimination was so fun
i also liked when shanbin and matthew were contenders for p01 and they talked about auditioning for boys planet together and stuff like that got me in the feels 😭
funny moments:
shuaibo doing moe moe kyun at gunpoint with junhyeon
yugeng telling yang jun all of his predictions and getting most of them wrong
the woongki vs keita dance battle was fun but the trainees' reactions are what really take the cake
cons:
ok i know i said i like elimination episodes but obviously i don't like it when my faves get eliminated and jang jiho being the only one left standing in the k-group aju nice team absolutely broke my heart 😭
also the trainees' speeches are pretty boring and they tend to get kinda repetitive pretty quickly
i was pretty disappointed when they suddenly made k-group win the dance battle competition when g-group was leading even if they did end up sharing the pizza in the end
the cultural appropriation prank was NOT it and (most of) the trainees laughing was also not it 😭
the hyunbeen prank also felt pretty mean and it felt like they were skinny-shaming him like idk maybe i'm being sensitive but yeah that was not a vibe
3. episode 12 (7/10)
pros:
i absolutely love the beginning when they introduce the top 18 through fun little films that reflect each trainee's interests and vibes and stuff like that part was so cool
the self-made concept teasers the jelly pop and hot summer teams made were so fun
i LOVE the sleepover and how they talked about first impressions like that is my absolute favorite conversation starter and everyone's just laughing and having fun and roasting each other and remiscing good memories and it's just so wholesome <3
funny moments:
the whole kamden jelly noona thing. no elaboration needed
junhyeon calling phanbin handsome but phanbin not hearing him correctly 😭
kamden asking if he has an american vibe and the other trainees just going "no"
when they tried correcting matthew's pronounciation on jiwoong's name but he still pronounces it like "jiwoon-hyung" anyway
jiwoong's "sorry what was the group name again?"
gyuvin's "sorry i forgot"
cons:
this episode is SO long like i would never rewatch this episode from beginning to end ever again ngl
on a related note, some parts of this episode dragged on for so long like the introduction and how to vote and the group name reveal and the members reveal. like i understand why since this was an actual live episode but yeah i'm not rewatching those parts again LOL
the stuff with the mentors was kinda boring, like i did enjoy the trainees making the flower headwear things and the cakes and the silly little song they sang but everything else was kind of a drag
i thought the fans' messages were really touching and stuff but for some reason i've never liked seeing other kpop fans LOL like idk it just gives me the ick (also partially the reason why i don't really like when mnet cuts to the audience's reaction during performances)
seeing phanbin cry and keita look so sad broke my heart into a million pieces 😭
2. episode 6 (7/10)
pros:
the ghost prank at the beginning of the episode was pretty funny
idk why but similar to the trainees picking their teams for the k vs g group batte, i find the trainees picking their songs and other trainees pushing them out to be so fun to watch, i love the suspense and overdramatization of it all
some of my favorite performances are from this episode, namely zoom and gang, which are S-tier and A-tier respectively
speaking of gang i enjoyed seeing their team interact the most, idk it's just good vibes and the only "conflict" that happened was trying to come up with a bunch of dance breaks but that was figured out relatively quickly
funny moments:
when gunwook pushed woongki out of tomboy and he acted all sad about it at first before strutting his way towards feel special
ricky winking at jiwoong only for him to get pushed out of love killa 💀
junhyeon yelling at shanbin to push out gunwook so that he can join ggang while gunwook is just trying to hide
jiwoong acting all silly and goofy and the birth of mattwoong
the sheer difference between woojin's timid vocals vs mingyu belting out man in love
cons:
same problem i mentioned before with the k vs g group battle, some of these training segments and the conflicts they faced were really boring
this episode planted the seed of jingxiang's evil edit before it fully bloomed in the next episode which wasn't a slay
1. episode 8 (7.5/10)
pros:
another elimination episode :D as mentioned before i enjoy eliminations and the suspense and yada yada yada
once again the intros were very fun and wholesome good stuff
i did quite enjoy watching the trainees go to their artist battle teams and their reactions every time someone joins them, like when the besties woongki and seowon ended up on the same team together or when everyone was so happy to see gunwook in en garde
planet camp tour was pretty fun, i liked seeing the trainees just vibing all around planet camp
the sports day segment was also super fun i loved it. lots of fun moments from the princesses to the chicken fight to the sudden genshin sponsorship
more gagged moments from this elimination, probably the most gagged i've been was when leejeong manifested ranking 23rd
funny moments:
the smn prank has got to be one of my favorite moments in the show. idk i just really like silly pranks like this LOL
hui practicing his why-i-should-be-leader speech in the bathroom is so funny to me like honestly mood
cons:
the training segments for the third mission were such a drag like dang why did you have to ruin a good episode like this smh (i mean granted it was less painful since the mentors didn't show up i think BUT STILL)
also some evil edits here with jingxiang (again) and ichan which were not a vibe
also this episode planted the seed to the mattbin smn conflict which lasted for an unnecessary two more episodes which was also not a vibe
this is all just my opinion no i don't take criticism thanks for reading

pairing: kum junhyeon x bp trainee reader
genre: canon, fluff, humour, crack
tw/tags: a lot of yelling, seunghwan is a tired boi, shirtless kum junhyeon, ggang team chaos, very slight suggestive themes towards the end
wc: 1024
summary: when junhyeon gets a little too loud, it’s time to call for reinforcements. You come to claim your morning cuddles.
a/n this turned out longer than I expected it to be but anyways, a love letter for our all-rounder and master of variety, hope you all enjoy! Trying my best to do more bp trainee fics before zb1 starts activities since I’ll probably do more fics about the members!
Check my pinned for more fics~
It’s a perfectly peaceful morning at the Boys Planet dorm. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping-
“YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-”
-and Kum Junhyeon is yelling.
“-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-”
He’s always yelling.
“-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-”
Except for when he’s sleeping, eating or seriously practicing,
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-”
It’s quite normal for him to exceed maximum volume capacity.
“-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-”
Only Seunghwan had gotten approximately 3 hours of sleep and he’d like to get a few more before they actually have to get up for a long day of practice.
“-AAAAAAAAAAAAAA-”
Times like this is when he wished that any other team had been open when Sung Hanbin had moved him out of Tomboy.
“-AAAAAAAAAAA!!”
Literally any other team.
“.....”
And just when he goes back to dreaming about making the Top 9 or maybe even going home for the break and getting to sleep in his own, blessedly quiet bedroom…
“YA! YOU BRATS COME BACK HERE OR I”LL-”
A series of expletives follows, too colorful for Seunghwan to even wonder how Junhyeon at his young age knows. Ggang’s tired leader sits up, staring daggers at Chen Jianyu who, in all this chaos, manages to stay dead asleep. If only he could.
And since Seunghwan’s day can only get better, the door flies open and slams shut, Jianyu stirring a little in his sleep before settling back into slow, even breathing. Seunghwan wants to strangle them all, seriously and it isn’t even Jianyu’s fault.
Lee Jeonghyeon and Mun Junghyun stare up at him sheepishly from where they’re crouched on the floor, one of them holding what looks like Junhyeon’s practice clothes. Which means-
Seunghwan resists the urge to commit murder which has been a thought on his mind more than what should be usual. While they are three years apart, the other Wakeonez called them the demon twins and now Seunghwan was acutely aware of why. Before they can say anything, Seunghwan shushes them. At this rate, he figures that he either kicks them out to the hall and Junhyeon starts yelling at them or Junhyeon finds them and starts yelling. All scenarios end with Junhyeon yelling, he thinks, there’s no scenario where Seunghwan wins and gets a few more hours of sleep. Unless-
Reaching for his phone, Seunghwan dials the number that the Back Door team advised he call for Junhyeon volume control.
__________________________________________
You’re jolted awake by your phone, vibrating quietly beside you. Without looking at the contact, you answer it, sneaking a glance at your two roommates, both fast asleep.
“Yes it is”
You confirm when the caller asks for your name.
“Ah, this is Lee Seunghwan from the Gang team. Listen, I’m really sorry to disturb you but Junhyeon is-”
__________________________________________
Seunghwan hangs up from the call and sends a silent prayer to the universe for strength to deal with his demons team.
As if on cue, the door swings open and there he is, in all his glory, Kum Junhyeon, with his hair still damp from the shower, a towel wrapped around his waist and his nostrils flaring with a fury. The offenders shriek, scramble off the floor and conveniently find themselves on top of Junhyeon’s bed. Seunghwan braces himself.
“YA! HOW DARE YOU-”
Three things happen simultaneously. The door shuts, Junhyeon freezes and Jianyu finally wakes up.
You survey the scene before you and sigh, turning to your boyfriend. Trying your best to remain composed, you fix him with a dead eyed stare, pointedly ignoring the droplets of water beading down his flat stomach. While it’s not Kim Jiwoong’s abs, it’s still doing things to you.
“Ah Hyeoni, what’s this I hear about you yelling so early in the morning? And walking around like this? Ya, you know there are kids here.”
You see the gears in his head turning before he drops his posture and says your name, laying the aegyo thick the way he does whenever you scold him. While you’re unfazed, the rest of the room’s occupants visibly cringe.
“Junhyeonie was showering and those meanies took Junhyeonie’s clothes so Junhyeonie chased them and told them to give back-”
You decide to stop him before Seunghwan actually commits murder.
“Mhmm well get your clothes back and come to my room. It’s early, let’s sleep a bit more before breakfast.”
So after extracting his clothes from Junghyun, who’s still in shock from the aegyo overload they had all borne witness to, Junhyeon trails after you, clutching them close to his chest with one hand and letting you drag him by the other.
As soon as the door closes behind the two of you, Seunghwan heaves the biggest sigh of relief. With one look at his teammates all dozing off as well, he finally closes his eyes and gets the sleep he needs.
__________________________________________
You love Junhyeon morning cuddles. Well, you love any kind of Junhyeon cuddles.
But there’s something about mornings and trying your best to burrow yourself into the blanket as he wraps his arms around you and tangles your feet together. Your roommates are still fast asleep and unbothered though you know they’re going to tease you later when they wake up and find Junhyeon in your bed.
You look up and he’s looking at you, your bodies so close that it’s almost impossible to tell where you end and he begins. You’re still a little distressed from witnessing his post-shower glory and so you tug him forward into a lingering kiss. He chases your lips, hands sliding to hold yours.
His breath goes a little shaky as you trail soft kisses across his cheeks and down his neck before returning to his lips. He wishes it could last longer but soon the fatigue from weeks of grueling practice and lost sleep sets in. You rest your head against the back of his neck, spooning him as he holds your hand, pressing kisses to your knuckles.
“Love you Hyeoni.”
You say, voice muffled as you bury your face into him.
“Love you too.”
He says so softly that you almost don’t hear it as you doze off. But you do because even when he whispers, Junhyeon’s love for you yells for the whole universe to hear. And you heard him.

Fighting Flirty Birthday Boss rush Chapter 2: Onion's layers of fun
*Present*
Steven stretched, a smile on his face as he looked at the statue. "I thought that Priya-mom would be a little more of a challenge actually, but she let me coast by...I think she might be plotting for next time we all have a game night. She's a bit of a sore loser." He relaxed his body, laying his elbows on his knees as he slouched forward. "The next boss, they kind of put me through my paces."
*earlier*
Steven sniffed the air like a bloodhound as he followed the scent coming from Funland, curiosity  and pleasant anxiousness within as he got closer  to the source. "The arcade huh? Did she got little laminar to help?" Steven pondered as he walked in,still following the scent.
He found himself at the back of the arcade, at the prize counter. He looked at the very top to see another box with a pink note, basically bathed in Connie's Scent. scent.  “Maybe it’s Mr. Smiley helping her..Whoa!” His eyes spotted the price tag on the box. “100,000  tickets, the top score on ten games, a combination of the two, or win the token challenge.” Steven hummed as he rubbed his chin. “What’s the token challenge?”
“Meh!”
Steven looked behind him only to get hugged by a (finally) older Onion. He turned around to return the hug to the boy he saw as a kid brother. After breaking the greeting, Steven looked to see that Onion had his gang with him and they all had mischievous smiles. “Let me see if I remember correctly,” He pointed as a heavy set teen with freckles and tan skin. “Garbanzo.” He spoke confidently, getting a nod of confirmation.
Garbanzo.” the teen answered in a surprisingly deep voice.
“ Nice...Hmm, your sister not with you today, she’s doing well? ”Steven gave him a gentle smile when the boy nodded with a thumbs up. Steven nodded as he pointed to the tallest one there, standing right beside Garbanzo. A  dark skin teen with black coarse hair and a yellow cap. “I wanna say...Squash.” He stated unsure and received a tip of their hat and a bow, showing their squash on their head. Steven chuckled, “Can’t beat a classic. Now...” He turned to the shortest of their group, a girl with near peach tan skin, and slightly shaggy brown hair which she had in a ponytail.
She  walked up beside Onion giving him a smile before leaning  on the taller boy, her  let arm draped over his right shoulder, before turning to Steven and blowing him a kiss, like last time they met.
“Soup, you’re Soup.” He affirmed, getting a nod from Soup. Steven arched an eyebrow at the hidden smile between Onion and Soup, but decided to ignore it “ So...Safe to assume you’re the Champs here?” He smirked at the four crossing his arms., and putting more  of his weight on his right leg.
“Meh.” Onion arched his eyebrow mirror Steven’s stance.
“Connie is really upping the difficulty.” Steven chuckled. “So..token challenge?”  He didn't get an answer, as Onion looked at him as if asking if that’s the course he wanted. “Token challenge.” Steven answered confidently.
Onion nodded before signalling to Garbanzo and Squash. The two walked up to Steven and onion before digging in their pockets and producing a pouch holding twenty-four tokens each, putting them in Steven and Onions hands respectively.
“Hmmm.. Let me guess, first one to lose their tokens; lose.” He gotta grin from Onion. “ Ok so..”  He was surprised when Onion pointed at him.
"So, I get to choose first, huh..Ok..Ok." Steven looked at the games. 'Most took at least three tokens or quarters, some four and others six So..should I start with a big game, or a small game..also.'  He took a look at the group as they huddled together.  'I doubt I will be just playing against Onion. I'll start with a couple of threes...a fighter. Gauge how they're going to play this.  From there, I can create a more thought out battle plan.'  Steven nodded before  smiling to himself. " Well look at me, thinking ahead like Heartberry. She rubbed off on me after all." He said to himself. " Hey! I chose." He announced getting the gang attention.
Steven pointed his finger to a two player arcade cabinet, with the words 'lonely blade battlefield VII' on top of it. He looked as the gang turned to Squash, who cracked their knuckles; smirking.
"So you’re  the fighter of the Gang. Ok let's go."
The five of them walked to the machine and to Steven surprise, it was a two credit machine. Two tokens, didn't consider that. There might be some one credit machines as well.' Steven pondered. Also, the fact that Squash stepped up first is a little concerning, they might be very good and I'm a bit rusty.'As the two inserted the credits to start their game, he glanced to the side to see Garbanzo whispering something into his opponent's ear, getting a slightly annoyed sigh and nod. Steven turned his focus to the game, picking the samurai known as lonely blade.
Squash chose a dual chain welder, named Akika, a female rival of Lonely Blade from the TV series.
After selecting a stage, the loneliest  moonlight field, The two began their match. to the untrained eye, Steven and Squash hands would be moving erratically, but to the gang, who watched Squash take down local pros, this was a match between two giants.
Steven naturally defensive and patient fighting style translated into his gameplay as his Lonely blocked, evaded and parry the stage long assault of Squash's Akika and their whipping chain; slowly advancing upon them, throwing a boomerang blade at opportune times to put them on defensive even for a moment. Once within striking range, Steven purposely clashed a heavy slash against Squash's medium strike, throwing  them off guard and leaving them open
"Hm! Hm,"Lonely said the two crouching light hits tagged Akika, followed by a kick to her side, "Kakh!," two swiping slash that across the stomach made Akika yelp as they stumble back, leaving her defenseless, "HYAK!" Lonely step forward  before giving a heavy overhead slash, bouncing Akika off the ground, "BOOMERANG ASSAULT!"
The gang watched in awe, as Lonely threw multiple boomerang blades at Akika, hitting the kunoichi hard and ending the fifteen hit combo, leaving the character with only 25 percent of life.  Akika safe rolled as they hit the ground and Lonely was already upon them with another heavy slash ready to take that 25.
Squash wasted no time unleashing their super move or 'Lonely Arte'.
Just like with Boomerang assault, the screen blackened and time froze, as Akika  swung her chains in giant circles igniting them in a purple aura like flame."ASHURA…" Akika yelled as she hovered forward, hitting Lonely six times as she bulldozed him before knocking him into the sky with a reverse crescent kick; "STALKER!" She tossed the circles like a couple of discs and everyone  watched as Lonely looked on terrified as they collided with him in an explosion of purple, before landing back on to the stage, 40 percent life left.
"Counter hit super, with rage. Make sense." Steven muttered as his Lonely shot another boomerang blade at Squash's charging Akika. He smirked as he saw Akika jump up and divekick towards him. "Sorrow upper!" Lonely flashed gray as he leapt up with his blade, breaking through Akika's attack  and hitting her three times, taking the last of her life bar.
"Round 1 victor: Lonely Blade."the arcade cabinet announced as Lonely blade turned his back to the audience before Akika stood back up rotating her shoulders. The screen faded to black and back again each character in their starting position. "Round 2: Commence!"
Much like the first round, Steven defended himself agaInst Squash's relentless assault; this time Squash's Akika stayed up close, attacking with small punches and kicks to try create an opening. Steven growled as Squash blocked and parried his own attacks, before landing one on him, in the form of a shoulder throw taking thirty percent of his life.
He tried to retaliate wit a sorrow upper, but was dodged and in turn lost thirty-five percent of his life to an air combo, that consisted of two medium, whipping strikes from Akika chains and a rising spin move called 'Wretched Revolution' Which allowed her chains to hit him five more times as she turned mid-air, before smacking him to the wall and making him bounce. He recovered mid-air and was immediately grabbed and slammed to the ground by Akika leaving him with five percent of life.
"What, she can just meter-less cancel dash out of W.R now!?" Steven exclaimed, getting a grin from Squash. Steven nodded and kissed his teeth as his Lonely rolled behind Akika in a crouch. Akika swung her chain down in an overhead, then the screen turned a pale blue and rain fell as her chain met with his hilt and everyone watched as as Akika life bar was literally sliced to shreds as the screen went black and sounds of swords swine could be heard as white lines rapidly cut through the darkness, revealing Lonely standing alone looking to sky with tears in his eyes, Akika nowhere to be found.
"Lonely wins, Isolated finish!"
"Master! WHY!?"
Squash looked at Steven, their mouth small as they bit inside of their jaw, before giving Steven their other four tokens,  they were done. She nodded to Steven, but they were done, and went behind the counter, into the back.
"That was fun." Steven admitted " Can't  believe I pulled off his isolation move." Steven chuckled " So what's next? or are we still playing Lonely?"
Onion pointed to a racing machine called 'Escapades of Realms' that took six tokens. 'That would leave me at twenty tokens after this. If I win.' Steven thought as he took a seat in the arcade game. Garbanzo took the seat next to him.
"Garbanzo." He cockily announced as he chose his vehicle, a deep red souped-up viper.
Steven coughed out a chuckle as he chose a pink Kawasaki ninja, with what looked like three rocket thrusters on the back of it.
They allowed the game to choose the stage and Steven was wondering exactly  who created this game because they were on a course called planet G..Which looked eerily like Homeworld.
'I'll look into that later.' Steven decided as the screen opened  up and the countdown began.
"3..2..1.Escape!" The game announced as Steven and Garbanzo both peeled off with a boost start, though Garbanzo timing was a bit more tighter, giving him a stronger, longer boost  compared to Stevens, allowing them to take 1st and 2nd respectively, out of the possible 8.
Even though Garbanzo boost lasted a whole three seconds longer, Steven had better acceleration and a higher top speed, allowing him to shrink the gap between them little by little, second by second.  As they shot down the digital hard-light track four crystal boxes adorned with a question mark came into view, each a color of a diamond; something Steven chose to ignore at the moment.
He watched as Garbanzo took the blue one  on the far left, he himself took the yellow one and watched as a yellow square appeared at the top of his screen with items randomly flashing  through it before it stopped on a circuit of electricity. "Weapons ok. Wonder what it does?" He whispered as he headed towards Garbanzo  and the first corner of the track.
Steven watched Garbanzo effortlessly drift around the corner and boosted out. Letting go of the acceleration before getting to the turn,Steven hit the break making a hard right, Unfortunately  his ninja had the worst handling on the track and made his turn wider than he expected, nearly throwing him off the track. Even though he made it around and got a little boost, he still failed to perform usable drift, lost the momentum he previously had, his gap widened again, and the CPU racers were closing in.
“Well let's see what you do?” Steven muttered as he pressed the weapon button on the arcade cabinet and observed as his character unleashed a yellow wave of electricity in a circular area. The attack hit a few of the CPU racers, causing them to sizzle and slowed them down to near halt.”Nice.”
Steven kept on his way, picking up speed as he passed the first checkpoint. As he continued he saw a ramp on the far right with three glowing arrows upon it. He rode upon it, being launched into the air by an auto boost up to a higher section of the track..Right into a blue cloud.
"Oh,  come on!" Steven combined as his view was now obstructed by the haze of blue.
"Banzo, Banzo, Banzo!" His opponent  laughed at Steven's misfortune, but kept his eyes on the road as he took Another box, this time a white one.
Steven kept on as the haze cleared a few seconds later, revealing his a U -turn. "Crap!" The hybrid swore as he performed a drift a bit late and just remained on the track by luck drifting through a pink box and picking up what looked like a barrier.
"WHOOOOOOOO!" The birthday gem cheered S he built up a full boost by the drift and released it right out of the turn, into the straightaway passed the second checkpoint; closing in on Garbanzo quickly. "Gonna getcha!"
"Banzo!"
"Gonna pass ya!"
BANZO!" Garbanzo challenged as he activated his weapon.
Steven saw his screen flash white for a split second before his shield activated  automatically. "Hahaha! You are mine!"  Steven taunted as he passed Garbanzo.
His laughter was cut off when they passed the last checkpoint, and pieces of the tracks started to fall at random places, as meteors started to fall upon them.
Both boys were hilarious dodging every pitfall and falling rock as they battled for first. The numbered position alters between 1 and two  every second. it was gonna be a close one as they both ran through multiple boost pads and both received an item box.
Steven looked at his pink item and saw that he got three more boosts. Seeing that he had already pulled away from Garbanzo Steven held the boost just in case as he sped through the track.
"Noo!" Steven grimaced as he saw a tight turn. He drifted the best he could into the right turn and again to the left, being thrown further to the outside of the track. "Come on." Steven encouraged  himself as he drifted into a large swirling pathway, holding on for dear life. "Almost there!!"" Steven  called  out as his vehicle neared  the end of the spiral. Just as he was about to make it off. Garbanzo red viper simultaneously drifting and boosting in the inside corner.
Caught up to him.
Passed him.
and released a pink shockwave tossing Steven off the track as Garbanzo sped passed the last runway, through the finish line in first place.
"That's cold." Steven shook his head as he was reseted on to the last runway  as five CPU' zoomed by. Using his triple boost he was able to secure fourth place. As he climbed out Garbanzo stopped him and pointed to their places and Steven's pouch. It took a moment but Steven got the gist of it and handed Garbanzo three of his tokens, who gave them to Soup.
"That was fun, a bit sneaky on your part but fun." Steven commented as he shared a fist pound with Garbanzo.
"Gar-ban-zozozo."  The victory playfully taunted, leaning back and rotating his shoulders in a victory dance getting an eye roll from Steven.
“Yeah yeah, still got two tokens over you guys.” Steven smirked before turning to soup.”I know it's my go but, Soup you can choose the next game."
The girl bounced in place before grabbing Steven's wrist and leading him to a game called 'Meat, Beat, Megalomania!', a sequel to 'Meat Beat Mania'. The differences between the two games were immediate.
For one thing while Mania was one machine that allowed side by side play. Megalomania was two giant machines back to back giving the aura of a head-on match. Another difference is while Mania was all about matching the beat, Megalomania was about matching the beat while attacking and dodging your opponent.
Steven stepped on to the machine, observing  the set up. the eight arrow panels on the floor, the two had hawk drums sticks and the nine rhythm pads behind them, along east, west and south of the screen; A crazy and slightly overwhelming set up for sure. Putting another six tokens and hitting start on the machine, Steven stood waiting for Soup to choose the song since she was the designated  first player, Inserting her tokens while he was taking in the game setup.
With the song chosen, a song curiously enough named 'Waters of Megalovania', the screen went dark before opening up to an animated kitchen with pots and pans bouncing  around to nothing.
"Groove to the beat, Dodge!"
Steven read out before a picture of the foot panel was shown, instructing him to step on whatever arrow was lit "Fair enough." Steven muttered as the music started up. A quick  pop beat and rhythm entered blared from the machine, urging him to hop in place  grooving to the music.  Until the drums and lyrics hit.
 Traveling through space and time
Everything's about to go down
Even if I told you that you'll
have a really bad time.
‘Those some quick arrows’ Steven thought as he saw he watched the arrows shoot down like bullets. “Down, up ,down, left, Right, upper-right…”Steven muttered as he stepped  to the beat being tossed at him. Getting calls of Good, great, or ok from the machine each step he took.
“You’re the beat master now. Attack!” The machine yelled, showing an animation of someone using the drumsticks to beat on the pad  when it glowed, “So my precision translates  to the speed of  the arrows I send to my opponent. Ok.” Steven  grabbed the drumsticks and immediately  the pads started to glow and the lyrics played
Why'd you gotta play this trick
God I am so freaking sick of you
Stop pretending that you don't
know what you're doing here.
Steven knocked all over hitting pad after pad as they glowed, “Hah, hah, hah,” He called as  he tried to be a quick as possible
“Close one! Good shot! Good shot! Good shot! Perfect! Perfect!” The machine continued to call as Steven got the rhythm down of the song.
“Switch it up! Defend!”
Steven's eyes widened as the arrows started to come down again, and even quicker than last time. “Crap!”
 Why are you here anyways
Did you plan this for a long time
Killing every single soul here,
don't you feel kinda bad.
Steven groaned in anxiousness as he stomped on the glowing panels trying to catch every arrow that came down as precisely as he could.
“Good!, Close! Close! Close! Good! Good! Bad! Bad! Perfect! Perfect!” The machine yelled  those three as Steven tried to catch up with Soup’s impressive playing.
“Stir up some trouble! Attack!”
“Thank god! “ Steven yelled as he got the drumsticks ready.
 Oh yeah you're so innocent
Imma show you what no mercy is
Hopefully you'll burn in hell
and can't ever come back.
Steven hit the pads with perfect accuracy and speed as soon as he saw them light up.
“Perfect! Perfect! Perfect! Perfect! You’re on fire! You’re cooking now! Perfect!” The machine cheered on both of them as they continued to face off. “Go off! Attack and Defend!”
 Is killing everybody really oh
sooo, good!
Dah Dah-dah-Dah Dah-Dahdah!
“What” Steven yelled as he grabbed the drumsticks and continued to defend against her arrows while sending his own. “ This is crazy!”  He exclaimed being drowned by the comments of the machine and the lyrics of the song..
 I can't understand
you well I don't want to.
Dah Dah-dah-Dah Dadah Dah!
“This is a workout!” Steven yelled only to hear Soup laughing maniacally! The machine is now screaming out the word “Perfect!” As if it was on repeat.
Couldn't you just leave us all in
peace down here!
Dah Dah-dah-Dah Dadah Dah!
“Come on! Come on!” Steven pushed looking at how close their scores were  and the fact that he was behind by a measly two hundred points or two arrows.
 imma dunk you
so hard so you'll die down here!
Dah Dah-dah-Dah Dadah Dah!
“Freestyle! Release everything!” The machine was announced as both the nine pads and the floor platform arrows all lit up. Allowing the player full reign, which Steven and Soup took total advantage. The two drummed on the pads and stomped all over the platform trying to overwhelm the other completely in a hailstorm of arrows as the song came to an end.
“Enough Cooking!” The machine yelled as the pads and floor stopped glowing, signaling the end of the match. Steven chuckled as he nearly tripped, feeling a bit fatigued after that game. He looked as the game tallied the totals.
“What?!”
“Ohhh.”
Both Steven and Soup were surprised to see they were tied at 9,967,342,678,800 points
“Meh meh.” Onion said as he pat both of them on their shoulder.
“Good game, Soup, and nice song choice..Didn’t think you were an Undertale fan.”
Soup waved the Undertale comment off, but gave him a thumbs up all the same, before Onion gave her a one arm hug and the quickest of head pats, getting a smile from the girl.
Steven didn’t say anything at all.but did share a teasing knowing smirk with Garbanzo. “Ok, so that’s one win, one lost, and one tie. Also I still have two tokens over you. What game shall we settle this in Onion?” Steven taunted, lightheartedly.
“Meeeh.” Onion rubbed his chin before turning to Garbanzo and pointed to the gift. After  receiving a nod, Onion turned to the others and led them to an obstacle puzzle game called..
“Guiding the Guys.” Steven said in awe as he looked at the game.. The video game itself was tabletop and stretched two and a half feet. It’s controls were simply a rotating globe for movement, a button for jumping and one for stopping. The goal was to guide the guys or gals through the obstacle course as quickly and safely as possible. The one with the most teammates at the end wins. On the chance that both players have the same amount teammates left they will determine the winner by time..
“The final game. You definitely choose something sentimental” Steven stated matter of factly, “  six tokens too .” Steven stated as he placed his six tokens in the machine along with Onion.
“Guiding the guys.” The machine yelled to the two showing its title screen. After selecting the stage, a lava pit. The two were ready to go, Steven guys vs Onion gals..” Ready, Set,Go!” The machine yelled, urging the two to start rolling the  globe forward making their groups move forward along the path,
Steven looked over at Onion.s team and watched as the boy continued to roll  the globe forward, making his team run forward instead of walking. Steven started to follow his example and continued to roll forward allowing them to run.  Steven rolled the globe to the left directing them as he caught up to Onion’s team. In front of t both teams were the first of a few obstacles, fire balls spring  fort and on to the track. Steven continued his way as he guided his team through the path, stopping before getting hit by a stray fireball., rolling left to get them through quicker.by making the run.
“Stop” Steven paused the team, before they got hit by a stray fireball, rolling them passed it; nearly making it through, when one of his guys got knocked off.
“Dave guy has fallen, Help him up!?”
Steven ignored the machines call, after all this time he still though that Dave-guy was a piece of clod,
Onion gals ignored him as well
“Dave has been eliminated.” The machine stated in a somber voice, no effect to either players. “Who cares about Dave guy?” the machine asked.
“No one.” Steven answered coolly, getting a nod from Onion.
After getting past that obstacle  The two teams raced through a zigzag path  Where another  obstacle  was waiting. This time simple falling boulders that rolled  or bounced down towards them
“Can they use their special skills in this?” Steven asked only to get a head shake from Onion. “ Great,” Steven said sarcastically as he tried to time when they should run and when   they should pause. He turned to Onions' team and watched as Onion dodged all the boulders without trouble. “ Oh I got this' ' Steven exclaimed as he moved cautiously running after successfully dodging a bouncing boulder. Another boulder rolled towards them and Steven maneuvered them so they walked on the very edge of the platform being careful not to let anyone fall over. As that passed he continued the path and pace and very soon they caught up with onions gals.. The rest of the way was a literal climb to the  goal up a mountain. Steven wasted no time directing his team to climb up. As quickly as possible. He still kept caution as he selected foothold after foothold for his team when ranger gut made a mistake and grabbed a loose rock causing a digital rock-slide that took out both teams except for Ranger guy and Karen. For the gals.
Steven and onion rolled their globes as Ranger and Karen climbed at top speed , The two closed up to the flag, the goal and at the last moment, The mountain erupted and tossed the players into the air with the flag. as they plummeted Steven maneuvered ranger guy perfectly and rolled forward.
“Winner GUYS!” The arcade yelled as the game came to an end and with it, the token challenge in Steven's favor.
“That was a close one,” Steven said as he looked at onion who along with his gang, was clapping his hands. “Aww thanks guys, it was a fun challenge.”
Onion nodded before looking towards Garbanzo who nodded. He walked up to Steven and produced his prize.,The next part of the code along with his birthday gift from them.
Steven took the pink piece of paper and sniffed it, allowing a smile to spread on his face as Connie came to mind. Unfolding the paper, he read the piece and almost laughed at the irony “4”  .
“For love?” Steven said as he blushed a bit, whatever the code was it seemed to be romantic, something she claims she was horrible at.
“Meh.” Onion pointed to the box and then to Steven.
“You got me a gift guys?” Steven said as he lifted the box a bit and saw three titles ‘Star Guy’, ‘Star Gal’ & ‘Star Person’.  He smirked “A New Guy and Gal that’s cool. Plus ‘person’ didn’t even know they made a person series.Still  never heard of…” Steven froze as he looked at the three new official pieces of his collection. He turned to Onion, ready to cry. “Onion. Bro. How..You serious?”
“Meh!” Onion nodded, smirking. As He watched Steven look at the new part of his collections in awe. Star guy, gal and person. As the world will know them as. Truthfully though...
“You got the company of ‘Guys’, to make Me, Connie, and Stevonnie into collectibles.” Steven  said in complete amazement They looked just like them.
StarGuy had his exact outfit with his shield out standing tall. StarGall had Connie's looks, sword and smirk. Wearing her blue hoodie and slacks with a star bralette in her hair. Star Person was Stevonnie through and through, wearing  their combo  of steven black shirt under Connie hoodie , both which fit Stevonnie like a crop top, and  a pair of Steve jeans which were jean shorts for Stevonnie. All in all they were perfect.
“Thank you, Onion.” Steven said as he hugged Onion
“Hap-py Birth-day, Steven.” Onion muttered as  he broke out of the hug. Smiling at his idol he looked at the dolls.

Photoshoot of the Week: December 30th 2019 - January 5th 2020 - Suzuki GSX-R750 & Miray
Tumblr media
Can you believe we are in a new decade? I couldn’t have imagined the year 2020 when I was a young boy. Do you remember all the movies that took place in the future and how futuristic 2020 was depicted? What about the flying cars and interstellar travels on exotic planets? We haven't gone near it so far: in a few days I'll have to take my motorbike to the repair shop, again! Anyway I don't mind at all: I believe that each and every day should be our main focus. When we do things from a place of feeling the way we want to feel, it all flows together with so much more ease. For me, my #1 goal this year was to continue the practice of strengthening my inner world – to feel joy and gratitude daily. To fully and completely feel it so deeply that happiness just oozed out of me in my relationships, in my work and in my blog, especially in these weekly posts for all of you. I’ve been working on my 2020 goals and I’m going to continue with last years intentions, which is adding goodness into my life, not setting resolutions on things I think I need to give up. But, as I decided a long time ago, there is always time for ridin' my motorbike, whether in my neighborhood or around the whole world, and that's what makes my life interesting, thus, worth living. I'm not personally interested in flying ships yet, and like the King sang I feel that 'there's so much world to see'. I think that many of you totally agree with me on this, and surely Turkish-German bikergirl and misterious socialite Miray endorses those words: you know, she never shows her face on Instagram but I bet there's a big fat shining smile ridin' around her Suzuki GSX-R750 behind that black HJC helmet! Why don't you show it to us? That smile will make all of us just walk on the moon! *** More than thirty years ago Suzuki GSX-R750's introduction revolutionized the sportbikes segment. Ever since then, the GSX-R750 has remained true to its original concept and championship-winning heritage. On the road or on the track, the GSX-R750 delivers a breathtaking combination of outstanding engine performance, crisp handling, compact size, and light weight. Its secret is an unequaled pairing of 750cc performance with the lightweight, compact chassis of a 600cc Supersport, complemented by technologically advanced suspension front and rear. The GSX-R750’s look was born and raised on the racetrack, and for its whole lifetime that styling has two new, dual-color paint schemes. Riders can choose the Glass Sparkle Black/Pearl Glacier White scheme that includes red bodywork graphics and striping on the black cast aluminum wheels. Also available is a scheme that blends a shiny and flat finish via Metallic Matter Black/Glass Sparkle Black bodywork that also includes red graphics and accents on black wheels. The GSX-R750’s fuel injected, 750cc, four-cylinder engine powers a balanced sportbike experience. This engine pulls strong off the bottom like a larger-displacement powerplant while it builds revs like a smaller mill – it’s the best of both worlds. The Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) lets the rider adjust the engine’s power delivery to suit the riding conditions. The twin-spar aluminum frame effectively connects the steering head with the swingarm pivot portion of the chassis in a way that balances light weight and strength. The engine is suspended below the frame to keep mass low and the wheelbase short to promote nimble handling. Compact 750cc, four-cylinder engine with a race-proven over-square bore/stroke ratio managed to produce a remarkably strong high rpm power delivery. The energy-efficient engine employs forged pistons, shot-peened connecting rods, chrome-nitride-coated upper compression and oil control rings, and pentagonal ventilation holes to reduce frictional and mechanical losses. Lightweight titanium alloy valves are controlled by single-coil valve springs to reduce valve-train mass, reducing mechanical losses at high rpm. Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) fuel injection uses eight fine-spray eight-hole injectors for improved fuel atomization, which contributes to more complete combustion. An Engine Control Module (ECM) provides state-of-the-art engine management and has enhanced settings to suit the intake and exhaust systems, resulting in better fuel economy and linear throttle response. Advanced, MotoGP-developed transistorized ignition control programming helps maintain more precise spark timing across the range of engine speed and temperature. Four-into-one stainless steel exhaust system with a titanium muffler is fitted with a Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) valve that maximizes torque and improves throttle response, especially in the low- to mid-rpm range. Lightweight and compact twin-spar aluminum alloy frame is constructed of five cast sections to produce a balance of light weight and strength. The frame is mated with a cast aluminum swingarm and multi-piece rear sub-frame that’s ready for racetrack use. Race-developed, lightweight Showa Big Piston front Fork (BPF) delivers superb feedback and consistent performance. Single Showa rear shock features externally adjustable rebound and compression damping, along with adjustable ride height. Electronically controlled steering damper provides lighter steering at slower speeds and more damping force at racetrack and highway speeds. Front brakes with fully floating 310mm discs are grasped by radial-mount, four-piston Brembo Monobloc calipers. Three-spoke cast aluminum alloy wheels are shod with lightweight, high-grip front and rear tires for sharp handling. Three-way adjustable foot pegs, adjustable shift lever, and short fuel tank help compose a comfortable riding position that permits the rider movement required for performance riding. Compact, lightweight instrument cluster with a built-in lap timer/stopwatch and programmable engine rpm indicators to alert the rider to certain shift points. The GSX-R750 survived in several incarnations from its launch in 1985 all the way to 2016 before it was finally dropped from the Suzuki range. During its lifetime, the GSX-R750 had to see off competition from impressive rivals such as the Yamaha FZ750 and YZF-R7, Kawasaki ZXR750 and ZX-7R, the Ducati 749 and then a new generation of larger-capacity superbikes such as the FireBlade and Yamaha R1. The GSX-R was much lighter (thanks to its aluminium beam frame, a first for a mass-produced bike) than the FZ750 and its better looks and more futuristic design gave it the edge in the battle of the showrooms. The battle for middleweight supremacy waged on into the 90s and it took a serious overhaul for the Suzuki to respond to the Kawasaki ZXR750 and later ZX-7R models, but the GSX-R kept moving with the times and remains a brilliant choice of machine whether you’re a trackday addict or a road rider. #bikergirl #fastbikes #RidinGirlsBlog #racing #suzukigsxr750 #gsxr750 #gsxr #gixxerkidz #Suzuki #gsxr1000 #hjchelmets #biker #bikelife #bikersofinstagram #bikerfamily #bikergirl #motorrad #girlsonbikes #HJC #sportbike #sexybiker #Suzuki #GSX #gsxR #motard #moto #suzukigirl #bikerchick #bikerlady #motorbike #speed #roadracing #ridingsexy #girlswhoride #riderich #girlsonbikes #gsxr #suzukigsxr #motogp #moto #helmetporn

WHY I LOVE THE FIRE SIGNS: AN APPRECIATION POST
Your fire sign friends, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius, are probably some of the most popular people you know and for good reason, too. Of course, they have their haters, but for each of their shortcomings, fire signs still attract a lot of attention simply because they're so energetic, encouraging, and charming. As always, take the whole chart into account, but people with strong fire influence and placements will be known for some of the traits listed below
ARIES: THE RAM
I used to have such a negative bias against both Aries men and woman. This has drastically changed in the last year.
People with strong Aries placements are some of the most genuinely sweet and kind people on the planet. Being the first of the Zodiac, they're referred to as the infants. However, there are plenty of mature, independent, and disciplined Aries people out there. The innocence and naivety they are known for comes across more so in their demeanor, their body language, and their overall aura. The next time you're out with an Aries friend, pay close attention when you two come across something that really excites them. Take a good look at them. Notice that sparkle in their eye? That's when an Aries looks the most innocent and the most endearing.
As the archetypal infant, Aries are often called selfish, but I don't find that to be true. Instead, it's more so that they don't mind talking about themselves. They relate to people by saying, "Oh, I've experienced something like that, too. I have an idea of what it's like, so you're not alone." This is sometimes misinterpreted as selfishness or self-centeredness. Yes, it's generally true that much of their thinking centers around their own lives and images, but this isn't an inherently negative trait. Why wouldn't you think about yourself? They're cardinal signs. They're natural born leaders. When they think about themselves, they're weighing pros and cons, trying to come to decisions about their next move. But at the same time, they're not compulsive thinkers like Virgos and Geminis. They're not the analytical type. They're action-oriented. They use their strong intuition to make split-second decisions. So even the time they spend thinking of themselves isn't a considerable amount.
Not only are Aries sweet and genuine, they are also fiercely loyal. They believe in their friends, and they will support them until the very end of time. This loyalty also includes calling out a friend they believe that friend is in the wrong. However, as long as what someone asks of them doesn't interfere with their own plans or goals, an Aries will give and give and give, and then give some more. So, please do not take advantage of your Aries friends. They are absolute goofs with hearts of gold that would risk any extreme just to see you laugh. They love you and care about you more than you will ever know. I promise.
What can we learn from them?
Simplicity is golden. The more you learn to trust yourself and the people you love, the more opportunities you have to create and establish meaningful relationships.
LEO: THE LION
Oh, boy. Leos. I love and adore both Leo men and Leo women. I have fallen victim to the Leo charm on multiple occasions. Even though they are one of the signs I butt heads with the most, Leos are probably my favorite of the fire signs.
In short, Leos are beautiful. Leos are graceful. Although insecurity is a serious battle for all of them, they still manage to ooze pure confidence in every step they take. Leos are funny and almost irresponsibly generous with their friends and family. They love being the center of attention and the life of the party, and they're good at it! Some people hate on them for their uncanny ability to catch the attention of everyone in the room. At the end of the day, those people are probably jealous, whether they're willing to admit it or not.
Leo rules the heart, so it's no surprise that their hearts are ENORMOUS. They're generous to a fault, but this is because they understand that there's no point in having it all if they can't share it with anybody. Naturally, they often have a large circle of friends. They splurge on the finer things for both themselves and their loved ones. Their gift-giving skills rival even those of the Venusian signs Taurus and Libra. They'll surprise you with their ability to find something you never even thought you needed but absolutely adore, as Leos are known for their creativity.
It's impossible for Leos not to express themselves. They drip with a style and aesthetic that is all their own. That self-confidence they're known for is hard earned. As Leo is the sign of the ‘Self,' the only reason any of them are able to shine so brightly is because they've first had to come face to face with their each and every flaw. The purification process associated with their neighboring sign Virgo, begins here, in Leo, with the knowledge of one's self. For many Leos it comes down to one choice: grovel in the imperfections they see or embrace every part of themselves with the fierce love they've felt thrumming in their hearts since day one. The best part about having Leo friends around is that the love they have for themselves constantly expands to embrace and cocoon every person they care about.
What can we learn from them?
Self-worth is the beginning of generosity. The more you water your own grass, the more flowers you will have to share with the ones you love.
SAGITTARIUS: THE ARCHER
Simply put, Sagittarians are just FUN. Their smiles and their laughter are infectious. Everything about the Sagittarius energy screams, "I'M A GOOD FUCKIN TIME." However, given the dual nature of all mutable signs, Sagittarians are also rather serious underneath all of that bubbly energy they're known for. People expect them to be the outgoing and goofy friend, so, naturally, they keep up this persona, while saving their more serious side for their closest friends and family.
As Gemini's sister sign, they're great thinkers who can spend hours upon hours mulling over the infinite possibilities that life has in store for them, but as fire signs, they also know that thinking will only get them so far. Action makes creation possible. So even if they spend all night analyzing a situation, they may end up finally saying, "to hell with it," and dive straight into the first option that feels right to them.
They know better than anyone how to harness the power of positive thinking. Even though some of their decisions lean towards outright recklessness, no one knows how to bounce back from an L better than them, either
Sagittarians have an uncanny depth of mind that is overlooked sometimes. They have strong convictions, values, and opinions about the nature of the world and themselves. As Jupiter's seekers of truth, they also have no problem abandoning any ideas that no longer serve them or bring positivity into their lives. They are chameleons who constantly shift and mold their perspectives. By changing their perspectives, they strive to one day align themselves with the highest truth of all. Considering this, it makes perfect sense that this sign falls between Capricorn and Aquarius. Sagittarius is the optimism and truth that bridges the gap between the self-mastery and discipline found in Capricorn and the higher ideals for all of humanity that Aquarius represents.
Indulge your Sagittarius friends and pick their brains from time to time. Ask them what they think about the latest government scandal or whether or not they believe in ghosts. No matter the topic, they're sure to have some idea or some opinion that they'd love to share with you. Sagittarians are smart, and their pursuit of knowledge is fueled by their diverse interests and love for making new discoveries. The only thing better than coming across something they hadn't known before is sharing that information with someone who matters to them.
What can we learn from them?
Anything is possible, but that doesn't mean you should believe everything you hear. Seek out the truth for yourself. Let go of ideas that hold you back. You must be willing to adapt to new insights if you wish to grow.

Boys Planet Dual Position Battle, final bits and thoughts
Tumblr media
This recap will cover the final point reveals from the end of episode 7, as well as my final thoughts on the performances, including my own ranking and my analysis of MNET screentime allocation (I have the numbers, my loves).
Ranking announcement from the end of ep 6
Ok, here’s the ranking announcement from the end of episode 6. At this point, ep 8 is probably out, so this is out of date, but it’s still kind of interesting.
What I did is, I put the votes in my spreadsheet and found the average number of votes per trainee, which turned out to be 818,005. Then I had the spreadsheet calculate what percent of the average vote each person’s vote was. I think that helps put the number of votes in perspective. For example, international sweetheart Sung Hanbin’s 3.3 million votes represented 404% of the average (in other words, more than four times the average!). Meanwhile, poor Feel Special member Lee Donggun’s 81,739 votes represents about 10% of the average. Ouch.
What’s kind of interesting is that the top 15 were all 123% or more of the average or higher, while from 16 to 51, they were all 89% or lower of the average. It’s really a kind of haves and have-nots situation here.
People who were on a team that got the 100,000 benefit will be marked in blue. People who also got the 150,000 personal benefit will be marked in purple. Members of Zoom are marked in green (because I think they should have won.)

The Performances, the votes, and the rankings
In the last ten minutes or so of episode 7, they gather the trainees together in what might be the space where the audience usually stands, and torture them for a bit before finally revealing how many votes each team got. The winner within each category gets to perform on MNET countdown, each member gets 100,000 extra points, and the number one ranked team member on that team gets an extra 150,000 extra points.
Below, I list the songs, the audience votes they received, and the total screen time (adding up the episode 6 segment and the longer segment in episode 6 or 7). I list them in order of audience vote.
Vocal and Rap
Tomboy 860 votes, 27 minutes of screentime
Man in love 752 votes, 14.5 minutes of screentime
Limousine 719 votes, 13.5 minutes of screentime
Not Spring… 617 votes, 15 minutes of screentime
Winner: Tomboy; Zhang Hao gets the extra benefit
My thoughts:
My favorite is easily Limousine. I just loved this performance. Man in Love and Not Spring were about tied for me; each had one singer I quite enjoy and a few singers I don’t enjoy as much, and neither was a song that I exactly want to listen to over and over. I guess Tomboy actually came in last for me -- I would rather listen to any of the other three again than listen to Tomboy again. If I’m watching the performances, then I’d rather watch Limousine the most -- the performance is so emotional and so good -- but after, that I’d obviously choose to watch Man in Love to see TaeRae’s weird elf face that I like so much. So, putting all that together, my rank is:
Limousine
Man in Love
Not Spring…
Tomboy
Vocal and Dance
Love Killa 840 votes, 20.5 minutes minutes of screentime
Home 716 votes, 19 minutes of screentime
Feel Special 677 votes, 19 minutes of screentime
Butterfly 664 votes, 19 minutes of screentime
Winner: Love Killa; Kim Gyuvin gets the extra votes
My thoughts:
None of these performances exactly floated my boat. Love Killa was marred by sort of blank performances, in my opinion (though it’s cool with me if you liked it, hope I’m not yucking your yum). Home was lovely at times but marred by tight, strained vocals here and there. Feel Special was a mess, brightened by Woongki's cuteness and, honestly, Z-bo's cheerful performance (I'm not his biggest fan, but it's not like the audience vote came out of completely nowhere). And Butterfly just sort of fell apart, as beautiful as Chen Kuan Jui's dancing was. I don’t really want to watch any of these performances again, or listen to them either.
I tried thinking, ok, which one would I want to watch a fancam of? For example, if it was a fancam of Gyuvin from Love Killa vs. a fancam of Woongki from Feel Special vs. a fancam of Chen Kuan Jui from Butterfly vs. a fancam of Yoon Jong Woo from Home, which would I prefer? And I found myself just ranking them based on how much I like the song itself. So my ranking is meaningless. They're all tied for 2nd place. No one is in first. First place is held in reserve for how good Love Killa would have been if Yoon Jong Woo and/or Ricky had been in the group instead of Matthew and/or Seo Won. (Sorry! I love Seo Won and want to get fro-yo with him, but the song didn't really suit him.)
Rap and Dance
Law 846 votes, 19 minutes of screentime
Zoom 813 votes, 14 minutes  of screentime
Gang 798 votes, 12 minutes of screentime
Rush Hour 742 votes, 20.5 minutes of screentime
Winner: Law; Park Hanbin gets the extra votes
My thoughts:
This one is easy. Zoom. Zoom is my winner, hands down.
I can see why Law won. It was exciting and sexy and the boys looked good. I like all five of these trainees a lot and think they're great performers. But here’s the thing about Law -- it’s so fucking good the first few times you watch it, but then it gets kind of dull. It’s just all kind of monotonous dancing, you know? Yeah, there’s the stupid flag wave, but there’s nothing else to break it up.
In contrast, I keep noticing more cool things about Zoom as I watch it over and over. Like, the detail of how, when Wumuti does that kind of lifted leg butt wiggle on the line, “Wumumutiti!,”  the other trainees do a far scaled down version of the move, so that they’re supporting him but your eye still stays on Wumuti. It’s so subtle, but it’s cool because it controls where your focus is. I like being led around visually as I watch a dance -- tell me where I should look, choreography! Also, and I’m aware that this isn’t a unique take, but I love the way that the end of each rap section connects to the beginning of the next one. It makes it all feel like this is a real team, not just trainees who got stuck with each other. And I get so excited when I hear Wumuti’s awesome screech “Lights Camera Action baby!” and I know it’s Haruto’s dance break. YES!!!! Haruto, hit that breakdance pose and hold it for the camera click sound! It’s also so fun to watch Haruto’s fan cam and see him cheerfully clowning around with the other trainees when they were on the sidelines, during the performance. Ollie's cute rap, Hyunbeen saying "braggadocious," it's all so charming. They’re just all having so much fun. They’re IN the performance.
For the record, I assume it was Keita behind most of what’s good here. From what I’ve heard, he did basically everything for this song, and did a lot in previous challenges, too. Keita’s so good that even MNET’s editing can’t hide him. The judges won’t shut up about him and every single other trainee respects him. I’m so glad that the audience sees it too.
So, Law won over Zoom in part (in my opinion) because Law was sexier -- I have a whole other post about how I think that Zoom’s styling really brought them down. But it may also have been the scheduling. I saw someone talking (in the comments section of The Bias List) about how she was in the audience for the taping of these performances! Jealous. According to her, it took ages and ages, with lots of time in between performances. She says Zoom was the last performance and by then, it was midnight and the audience was exhausted by then. But the team started performing and it was so energetic and fun that everyone in the audience jumped into life again. This is all according to a person on the internet, I can’t substantiate it, but I don’t know, it kind of rings true.
It would be like MNET to try to sabotage Keita. Production had to know how good Zoom was and that it was likely to win, which would give 100,000 points to Ollie, Wumuti, Haruto, and Park Hyunbeen, and almost certainly would mean 250,000 points for Keita. If you look at the vote list above, you can see how much 100,000 points would mean for most members on this team. Yes this is just an interim vote and the final tally would be bigger overall, but even so, 100,000 points would help lock Haruto into safe territory, it would probably ensure Ollie's survival, and it would give Wumuti and Hyunbeen a fighting chance. 250,000 more votes might also move Keita up one space in the top 9. Scheduling Zoom last meant that it was an exhausted, cranky crowd who were voting, and that probably hurt it.
Anyway, enough about Zoom and Law. What about the other two groups?
As for Ggang, I think it was never going to appeal to me much because the song itself isn’t really my style. It’s not the trainees’ fault at all -- they did a decent job. But nothing about this performance specifically grabbed my attention to where I’d want to watch it over and over, and my little cousin Kum Jun Hyeon's shirt lift joke didn’t strike my fancy.
And of course, Rush Hour just drags my spirit down when I try to watch it. I don’t know if I’d feel differently if I didn’t know the back story, but I do know the backstory, and I can’t turn that part of my brain off.
So in the end, I guess my rank is:
Zoom
Zoom
Zoom
The other teams
Oh, and here’s my pie chart of the number of minutes devoted to each team. It’s kind of wild to see how little time was devoted to Zoom compared to Tomboy, isn’t it?
Tumblr media
As for the new songs that they’re going to be performing for the “Artist Battle”...
Oriental Pop “Switch” - sounds like a lost NCT Dream song
Sentimental Hip Hop “SuperCharger” - fast paced, kind of like Law
R&B Pop “Over Me” is sexy and charismatic
New-tro synth pop “Say My Name” is cute and lighthearted
Funk Pop “En garde” is sort of weirdly forgettable.
Based on my theory on how important sexiness is, I think most of them will want #3, whether it suits them or not. Dancer types like Wang Zi Hao will probably want #2, and cutie pies like Woongki will probably want #4. It’ll be fun to see who ends up in which group, and whether it was the song they wanted or not. I’ll especially be interested in where the fans put Matthew, because he keeps trying to do sexy concepts and I think he’d be much better suited for something more like #4.
Ok! We're finally done! And episode 8 is out. In fact, it's been out for a week if you knew where to look, and I did know where to look, but I have held back and didn't spoil myself.
Hope you're having a lovely day, hope that good things happen to you, and hope that all your pants are real sparkly. See you in the next one!
