WOWEEEE!!
What an incredible night we had at the HIA Eastern Victoria Regional Housing Awards on Thursday, 3 December 2020! We are so proud to announce that we won 3 out of 3 awards!! New Kitchen Over $55k, New Bathroom Over $30k and New Laundry! We were also awarded with finalist spots for Kitchen of the Year and Bathroom of the Year for the Eastern Victoria region! We are so proud and grateful!
We had so much fun! There was excitement, screaming, tears and lots of hugs and high fives! There is so much emotion involved when you put your heart & soul into something.
A huge congratulations to the Elite Building team! Our biggest thanks has to go to our customers and our exceptionally talented team of trades & suppliers as we simply would not exist without you and we are so grateful to work with you.
This project was a real labour of love, a mammoth project and the results speak for themselves.
We take great pride in in bringing people home, so to be recognized for doing something we are so passionate about is truly humbling.
And of course thank you to the Housing Industry Association (HIA) for this opportunity! We cannot wait to see everyone in person again and celebrate live events! I miss networking!!! And hugs!!

On 29 November 2020, the Government announced an extension to the HomeBuilder program to 31 March 2021.
Changes to the HomeBuilder program include:
• A $15,000 grant for building contracts (new builds and substantial renovations) signed between 1 January 2021 and 31 March 2021, inclusive.
• An extended deadline for all applications to be submitted, including those applying for the $25,000 grant and the new $15,000 grant. Applications can now be submitted up until 14 April 2021 (inclusive). This will apply to all eligible contracts signed on or after 4 June 2020.
• An extension to the construction commencement timeframe from three months to six months for all HomeBuilder applicants. This will apply to all eligible contracts signed on or after 1 January 2021, but will also be backdated and apply to all contracts entered into on or after 4 June 2020.
• An increase to the property price cap for new build contracts in Victoria to $850,000, where the contract is signed between 1 January 2021 and 31 March 2021, inclusive.

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR THE HOME BUILDER GRANT
Head over your the State Revenue Office and apply for the Home Builder Grant to determine your eligibility and potentially receive $25,000!!

The Commissioner of State Revenue has extended the construction commencement requirement by 3 months. This means that applicants have six months from the signing of an eligible building contract to commence construction.

$25,000 HOMEBUILDER GRANT UPDATE
More information has been released about the HomeBuilder Grant today. Applications are to be lodged online via an online portal on the State Revenue Office website. All applications must be received by 31 December 2020.
Applicants are able to lodge their application once an eligible contract has been entered into (after 4 June). Applications are expected to have a 15 working day turnaround.
This is an exciting time for first home buyers. If you are eligible for the first home owners grant and are building in a regional area (I.e.Baw Baw Shire) you may be eligible for both State and Federal grants, together with the HomeBuilder grant - THAT’S A HUGE $70,000 in grants!!! What an incredible entry into the property market.

FACEMASKS MANDATORY ON VICTORIAN DOMESTIC BUILDING SITES
It is now officially mandatory for anyone in metropolitan Melbourne municipalities to wear a face mask if they leave home. And while there are some specific exemptions, all workers or visitors on domestic building sites must wear a face mask unless it is not practicable to do so. Please note that scarves and bandanas are not permitted due to safety reasons.
All workers must have access to PPE (including face masks) and all contractors entering work sites must provide their own PPE (including face masks) as well as continuing to maintain social distancing and following good hygiene practices.
It is our joint responsibility to follow this advice to ensure a safe and healthy environment for everyone onsite and the general public.
If you require any clarification as to when you need to be wearing a mask or what the exemptions are, please let me know and I’ll happily assist you or you can review the latest industry guidelines or current information on the DHHS website.
