🙌🏼 WHAT AN ENTRANCE 🙌🏼 This mud room storage space was a non-negotiable for our lovely customers in their forever home in Maryknoll. With 5 kids living at home, Joel & Fiona wanted to ensure they could keep things organised and elegant and this area certainly does not disappoint. The feature paneling on the entry wall really compliments the space well. This entry oozes elegant country charm and creates as welcoming sense of warmth as soon as you open the door of this stunning home. I’m sure there are many who are very glad to see the end of a very difficult year.
So many people are celebrating achievements through such a challenging year and others are still hurting from the hard decisions that they had to make or were forced upon them. It is okay to feel like you have nothing to celebrate this year, but please believe me when I say that you do – no matter how small. We all do. Honestly, some days I was getting dressed up in black tie and celebrating winning national awards and others (much more common), I was celebrating simply getting out of bed or having a shower. So please ensure you take the time to congratulate yourself even if all you felt you did this year was survive. You are amazing!
No one could have anticipated the year we had. I am so proud of our industry, our community and our country for the way we have handled ourselves. Everyone in the world has been affected by Covid-19 and have felt its impact in their own way. It has been the biggest challenge we’ve experienced in our industry to date – but the way we banded together, persevered and adapted is a testament to us in every way possible. We are strong, resilient and brave.
Everyone has worked so hard – whether it be in your business, advocating for others, on site or for your family – you are amazing and; I am so proud of you!
We saw this challenging year as an opportunity and a way to help others. We adapted our way of doing business – both on and off-site – and embraced the new safety protocols without question. We innovated and collaborated to keep our trades, suppliers, customers and community safe.
It is because of the way our industry led the way to recovery that we were able to stay open, even though scaled back and we must continue to conduct our business in this safe and cautious manner so that we can remain open and serve our wonderful customers.
We would like to thank our amazing team of trades and suppliers who adopted the new measures so quickly and followed the rules. It wasn’t always easy. We’ve all worked longer hours than ever before to ensure that we could remain open. We are so grateful and couldn’t have gotten through it without your commitment to safety and excellence 🙏🏻
We hope you are enjoying a genuine break and having a well-deserved rest to relax, refresh & recharge.
We will continue to keep you updated as to the Coronavirus situation if there are any further changes that impact our industry – but otherwise, please have a wonderful break. Eat too much food, laugh til it hurts and accept all the hugs!
Take care and stay safe.

Coronavirus Update
Please see below for a brief update insofar as the announcement impacts the residential building industry following today’s announcement.
Masks
Please note that as of midnight tonight, face masks will only be mandatory indoors. If you are outside and you can physically distance yourself from others by 1.5m then you are no longer required to wear a mask. However, you will still be required to have a mask on hand. Masks are still required to be worn when working indoors, but we do expect this to change (hopefully) in the not too distant future. Please note that mask wearing really is determined by Covid Safe Plans, which may change from site to site. Please ensure that you still carry a mask with you at all times and have it accessible for usage when social distancing is not possible, even when working outdoors. We advise that we will still be wearing masks on site in instances where we will be meeting with clients and should you wish us to wear a mask at any time, please let us know.
All other Covid Safe requirements remain in place, including Covid Safe Plans, the density quota and all other Covid cleaning and other requirements for workplaces.
Working from home or in the office?
As of 30 November, Victoria will commence a safe return to work plan. 25% of staff will be able to work in the office from this date. However, all Covid Safe requirements need to be adhered to including masks, social distancing, etc.
The South Australian Border
At present, any travel between Victoria and South Australia will require a border permit and there is a bubble in place for the border community. Existing permits may be used for those already in the existing bubble. Permits are classified depending on location and risk and you can read more info about this here: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/information-people-travelling-sa-vic-covid-19. You can apply for a permit here if you need to: https://www.service.vic.gov.au/services/border-permit/home.
The next announcement is expected on 6 December where we hope to have a plan for Covid Normal.
We look forward to seeing you on site soon!

Check out the latest issue of BuildHome magazine featuring Elite Building Services!!!
There is a 4 page feature on our Hamptons Style home in Maryknoll, a feature of Bek’s big win at the HIA national awards earlier this year and our beautiful 2 page ad.
We are about to distribute these magazines among cafes in the Cardinia and Baw Baw regions and hope you can manage to snag one to read while you enjoy a local meal and a cuppa!
We’d love to hear your thoughts.

26 October 2020
The Premier made the announcement that we’ve all been hoping for today and that is that effective Wednesday, 28 October, building and construction in the Metropolitan Melbourne area will move to the next stage in the road map – the ‘Open with a CovidSafe Plan’ stage, though the details are a little different to what was initially released.
Given that we have been removed from the “high risk” category, there is no longer a requirement to have a High Risk CovidSafe Plan, though you (and we) are still required to have a CovidSafe Plan.
With respect to small scale construction, including renovation of unoccupied homes, the following changes will be effective as of this Wednesday:
• Worker number limits will be lifted (there will no longer be a requirement to have 5 workers on site);
• Restrictions on movement among sites for workers and specialist contractors will be lifted;
• Pre-contract works on occupied homes (such as site measurements), can occur, where it is possible to create a physical barrier between workers and occupants (I.e. barriers to manage airflow and the risk of possible infection), or the occupier can temporarily vacate the premises for the duration of the works; and
With respect to renovation of occupied homes:
Great news! Renovations on occupied homes can commence from 12am this Wednesday. These works must be done where it is possible to create a physical barrier between workers and occupants (I.e. barriers to manage airflow and the risk of possible infection), or the occupier can temporarily vacate the premises for the duration of the works. We will provide more information about the requirements for physical barriers as soon as it is available.
It is also understood that the 25km travel limit in Metropolitan Melbourne will be removed after 8 November and we will have the ability and freedom to move between Metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Victoria after 8 November. Further, the existing requirements for worker permits will remain in place until 8 November after which point, they will no longer be required.
In order to operate, all businesses must have a CovidSafe Plan and follow the industry guidelines.
