missing colin wilkes today :( i do like all the friends damian has managed to make over the years, jon and maya and even rose more recently are all lovely, but tbh they will never be colin. like colin was just this random gotham kid that had no idea who damian was when they met, didn’t know anything about damian’s past and only found out about robin incidentally in the course of saving damian’s life. they didn’t form a friendship around being the sons of great heroes or because they had a messy history they needed to resolve or even just as a base understanding of each other bcos of similar pasts. colin was just a kid who had survived a metric ton of gotham bullshit and got superpowers, rolled his eyes at all of damian’s initial posturing, and then decided they were friends now nbd and started making fun of him. like it makes me insane to think abt since most if not all of damian’s current friendships are about damian’s roles as a hero, an ex-assassin, the son of the bat, robin, etc etc, that colin didn’t know ANYTHING about damian, just thought he was kinda cool, and that was ENOUGH. bros for life

mac and dennis breakup always makes me go insane not just for all the obvious codependency stuff but how different dennis and mac's reactions are. and how dennis' behavior post mac coming out was the same.

after what dee said mac doesn't seem to get to any conclusions he keeps acting the same way around dennis who reacts in a total opposite way. hes like 'woahhh hold on' gets more self conscious about their relationship and pushes mac away. its almost as if mac still hadn't realized he was in love with dennis back then while dennis did and when someone from the outside noticed things, he panicked. and don't even get me started on the beautiful lips scene.

but then they eventually went back to normal cus they realized they didn't wanna be apart and they were still just two "straight" guys who happened to be best friends and totally codependent and then mac mentioned the woman with big boobs that was supposed to meet him at gugino's and from dennis' perspective everything went back to normal.

dennis acted like this again in s12 except it was much worse bc this time things were getting too real and they couldn't keep acting like that around each other anymore since mac was out, things couldn't go back to normal now. from s5 to s12 thats a lot of seasons and a lot of consistency there so i wonder if this was intentional bc its interesting how they keep giving focus to dennis' internal conflict when it comes to macdennis.

dennis' behavior every time their relationship is getting out of his comfort zone is always similar he doesn't want things to change bc he's too scared of having to face his feelings and the meaning of them especially bc he knows mac isn't afraid anymore.

What does your heart look like?

Basically, there are three due to the aspects / facets of Mizuki throughout the two games, mainly the first game, and seeing her a bit more unburdened in the second, although I feel she is most in character in the OG game of her own route imho, and the second game I personally feel is more a focal point for the plot's twists and turns and we see a lighter, more confident, more free side to her that we didn't get to in the Cyclops Serial Killings, which had her at the epicenter as two of the victim's daughter, however unloved, among several other victims.

However, I think in each one they apply to her, as I feel Mizuki still has not 'healed' and quite frankly, it's unlikely she ever will fully heal from the horrors and tragedies of her life, but that doesn't mean she can't have a hell of an adventurous one and find some peace, someday. Some parts I took out because I didn't feel they were applicable to her!

MOLTEN LAVA AND CHARRED FLESH. your heart burned so fiercely that it burned itself out, leaving horrible scars in its wake, scars on your chest and on the hands of those who touched you the hearts of any who got close enough to connect to yours. burnt up by your own anger, passion and love. the injuries will never fully be erased, but they can be soothed with time and trust.

Headcanon questions

As much as Fang would like to keep the cool loner facade going, it's a bit hard when he's hauling around Bean and Bark half the time. He'd never admit it out loud, but he...appreciates the two of them. Granted, he feels about the same for them as he does his hoverbike, so it isn't like it's a particularly healthy friendship, but they're his boys. They may be mooks, but they're his mooks, and nothin's gonna get between 'em for long.

Bean considers his fellow Hooligans the best of best buddies. Nothing Fang says gets under his skin, no matter how biting, and Bark is just a good pally all around! It's hard to say exactly why, though. Maybe it's just because they're the ones who decided to keep him around instead of running away or getting annoyed. He also has a strange affinity for Speedy the Battle Kukku, though no one but him knows why.

Bark doesn't seem to really... like Fang all that much, but hey, he keeps Bark fed and housed, always provides him with a good challenge, and well, someone's gotta keep Fang from getting himself killed out on these bounties. It's a different story for Bean. He wouldn't deny being a little freaked out by the little guy sometimes, but he doesn't seem to mean any ill. The two of them have gotten pretty close over the years. The little guy's got some funny stuff going on, but he's only really a danger to their targets and, sometimes, himself, so Bark has taken a kind of self-appointed big brother role, making sure Bean doesn't get too hurt out there while also letting him do his own wacky thing.

I don't know if I've ever mentioned this before, but Venera's name actually means venus. which, while not seeming overtly necessary information at first glance, actually is something I was losing my mind over yesterday because. the three brightest objects in the sky, in order, are the sun, the moon, and venus.

....thinking i might want to add Lonan’s perspective into my book for 1-3 chapters....

Lonan is living in the city while he’s away at college, and as Ray’s problems ensue at home in Point Blink, he faces plenty of his own challenges to become accustomed to city life. These include facing up to the past and meeting his new roommate:

Growing up, my father always fell asleep with the television on. Beer bottles and crumpled chip bags lay attacked on the coffee table and even the floor as bad comedians said their final lines and wildebeests were killed in nature documentaries. Mom never cleaned the house or made breakfast – she was careful not to make noise when she got dressed for her job – so Dad didn’t feel rushed to wake up for anything. His eyes were red when he peered at me in the morning, just standing at the edge of the fold-out couch.

Vick was completely the opposite of this: he rose before his alarm and went shopping so I could cook, washed all our laundry together, and left his bedroom door open even though I always kept mine shut.

“What’ve you got to hide in there?” he’d asked me at the end of our first week living together.

Nose buried in my sketchbook, I merely shrugged and scratched his tabby named Bagel around her ears. “You’ve lived here for a year all alone. Do you really want to show a stranger all your stuff?”

“Ouch. You’re not really a stranger anymore since we’re living together now. And by the way, I have nothing to hide.”

“Why do you need to know what’s in my room?”

Vick made a face. “I don’t need to know. I thought it might be cool to hang out together sometime. If you want.”

The cat made a low grumble, and jumped off the couch.  I rose both my eyebrows at Vick. “When?”

Vick patted his stomach and laughed. The tattoos – oranges and yellows and blues – on his forearm flexed. “Do you need a formal invitation to hang out with your roommate?”

I shrugged.

“Well, Lonan Herrings, you are formally invited to my bedroom.”

....maybe this will be a good idea or a bad idea - who knows! I think it’s relevant to the story and actually helps explain some plot whilst taking a break from the same old stuff. anyways, I’m having lots of fun with it :)

Kind of excited to get into Fate Zero again, I think it’s actually pretty low for me right now, it’s below FSN, FHA, Tsukihime, Fate Apocrypha, etc.

It might be because it’s been so long, and I don’t think it’s going to really come close to FSN, since that’s still my favorite story ever right now, but maybe it’ll get bumped up a bit in my opinion of it.
