Unpopular opinion maybe, but I don't see Byler having kids. Like, at all. 🤷

The reason why I love jealous Mike in fanfics over jealous Will is because we know that Mike is the master of handling jealousy so much that it turns to pining and confusion and a heart of seeking forgiveness and amendment and it’s honestly pretty sweet and even endearing. We’ve known and seen it before that he knows how to pick himself up in the end.

But for Will? Oh, lord. That boy buries it so well that not even the audience can see it, sometimes. He’s too sweet about it (outside their fights), and so you know that that emotion is burning at his deepest core. He is going to get infuriated whenever he breaks out. So jealous Will is no fun and games, and it takes a tortured soul to depict it properly, in my opinion.

90s Byler and Jancy staying in a cabin together somewhere in the Appalachian mountains during autumn. Jonathan and Nancy kissing softly in a hammock and whispering and laughing to themselves about their brothers, who are fast asleep in the hammock right under them. Jonathan and Mike struggling to get a campfire going outside so that they'll be able to stay warm while they tell ghost stories and urban legends, and they're watching Nancy and Will struggling to make dinner together through the kitchen window and commenting about how cute they are (except Mike thinks it's cringe to hear Jonathan talking about Nancy that way. But Jonathan actually loves hearing Mike talk about Will that way). Them sharing oversized flannels and denim jackets between the four of them and all growing out their hair a bit. Nancy and Will going out into the woods with guns to explore new territory and scare off any dangerous animals or people (and Nancy helping Will work on his aim). Jonathan and Nancy not-so-subtly leaving the cabin and going for a walk so that Mike and Will can spend some alone time together, and vice versa. Jonathan drawing a warm bath for Nancy and getting in with her, and Mike seeing them later that night, both with wet hair, and having a "wait, you can do that with your boyfriend?" moment and looking at Will. Basically them just being happy and in love with their SOs and being a little family unit/working ecosystem and them serving the cuntiest fall vibes and doing survival lite together and giving zero fucks.

Mike and Will BOTH get vecna’d in s5 but instead of showing them each their worst memories, they show them eachother’s worst memories, because he knows that’ll hurt them even more. Stuff like:

I just feel like Mike and Will pine in different ways. Will knows he loves Mike and thinks about him all the time, doodles his name in his notebook and is so, so happy to see him; he just wants to be around his favorite person.

But Mike stays up all night because he can't stop thinking about Will, daydreams about him in class, puts too much emphasis on avoiding his touch. He so desperately wants to see Will that he built it up too much, and now he thinks its weird, he's weird. Being around Will hurts, and Mike doesn't know why.

Idk why, but I have this S5 headcanon of Byler having some emotional climax, maybe in the UD, and then waking up in this lush and verdant paradise.

Like a version of the UD that's green with gold light streaming in from above the trees, where all the demo-creatures are just big flowers and the bats are like, butterflies or something. Instead of a nuclear winter- blue wasteland with mutated creatures, it's a peaceful place full of non-irradiated vegetation.

(yes, this is partially because of Byler blue + yellow and together they are the key, but also I just think it'd be so nice to see them off in their own little world for a minute where everything is safe and beautiful)

I love how Will canonically does not tolerate subtlety. When Mike asked him like you didn’t think we’d grow up and get girlfriends? That boy straight up said, “yeah. I guess I did. I really did.”

Imagine how this is gonna carry over to when they get together. Mike notices that Will likes something he says or does and Mike points it out, “oh, you like that?” And Will just smiles and goes, “yeah. I did. Do it again.”

Idk how or why this would happen but I think Vecna should capitalize on the selfless and self-sacrificial natures of Mike, Will, and El at the same time by putting them in a situation where he will let one sacrifice themselves to save the other two immediately with no strings attached so that we can have Mike, Will, and El with tears in their eyes saying to each other, "Please just let me save you two, just let me do this, I don't want to live without either of you" while all three of them grow progressively more anxious and possessive of each other and terrified of the thought of losing each other

i need to see byler go on an actual date. i need to see mike sitting at a fancy restaurant dinner table, anxiously waiting for will, tapping his fingers on his bouncing leg. and then mike bursting into the BIGGEST heart eyes grin when he sees will all dressed up + will grins back and stares at mike also with heart eyes. give me will affectionately adjusting the lopsided collar of mike’s dress shirt before sitting down. give me will telling mike that he looks handsome once he’s adjusting mike’s shirt and give me mike’s brain buffering for a second as soon as will says that!!

give me mike trying to brush off/deny the compliment but then will, dramatic, stands up like “well, I better go, because I’m supposed to have a date with my boyfriend, and he’s absolutely gorgeous, and so if you’re not even handsome, then there’s no way you’re him, because my mike is stunning.” and mike is literally 10 seconds away from kicking his feet and giggling and he rolls his eyes and motions for will to sit back down, and will does, but he gives mike a very Genuine, loving look, so that mike knows that he meant every word of it about how beautiful he thinks mike is.

give me mike awkwardly trying to order but he doesn’t know how to pronounce the name of a dish so he messes it up and panics and Will’s worried that mike’s gonna be all upset but then when the waiter leaves, mike turns back to will and grins, happy as ever, because he gets to date will byers. give me mike getting distracted staring at will and spilling his drink everywhere!! give me will getting distracted laughing at mike getting distracted and spilling his own drink in the process!!
