My hottest Camelot revival take is actually that when it comes to magic in the show I'm running on death of the author rules. Like I actually don't think Aaron Sorkin should have gone around saying magic is 1000% axed gone completely from the show and it's world, because when you actually watch the show I feel like it exists more ambiguously, and it's a belief that multiple characters hold to varying degrees. And I think the clashing of beliefs is interesting actually especially because how it slots into changes in the show. This is why I do not hate these changes and like idk maybeee you should HEAR ME OUTTTT

How going in with this sexy, sexy reading benefits me and might even benefit YOU. TODAY. RIGHT NOW:

-Any mean spirited jokes about the magic system feel a lot more like character moments. Important to note that Guinevere is the character who tends to go hardest on these types of comments, whereas Lancelot is completely devoid of them.

-Genny being the most cynical is a fun lil nod to her now cut line from Simple Joys of Maidenhood where she so easily ditches St. Genevieve when she doesn't feel like her prayers are being answered.

-Even more interesting is how Arthur seems to be somewhere in the middle on this. He thinks legends abt him slaying dragons, and this idea that Lancelot revived him from the dead is ridiculous because these are his lived experiences he knows that's not what happened. But he believes Merlin whom he holds in high regards could see the future. And he is constantly debating on what made the sword come out of the stone when he pulled on it. It's like he needs a reason. What can he say about him and his reign if it was completely random?

-Am I being cheesy if I say I think the conclusion he comes to at the end issss kind of sweet and feels like ohhh the magic??? Of humanity??? Yeah probably.

-Also as much as Arthur and Genny insist that Lancelot did zero resurrecting can we trust them??? It's played off as a joke but Pelly's got a point he WAS UNCONSCIOUS! HOW COULD HE 100% KNOW??? Perhapssss the truthhh is whatever the individual believes now!!! 🤔🤔🤔 perhapssss it's MYTHOLOGY BEING FORMED IN REALLL TIMEEE BABYYYY. ARTHUR CAN SAY WHAT HE WANTS THAT STORY IS LOW KEY OUT OF HIS HANDS NOW! Which looms over his whoooleee legacy

-Lancelot believes his virginity is tied to his miracle work and strength I just think you should put THAT in the toaster of your brain while watching ILYOIS

-this has ALWAYS existed in every version of Camelot but it feels really at home in this version where Lancelot still manages to fight off unreasonable amounts of men post Genny hook up, which now puts all his beliefs up for debate.

-side note when my friend pointed out that his miraculous acts of strength come out It's tied to a love for Genny (rescuing her) or love for Arthur (reviving him) I needed 10 business days to recover. Sequel post Camelot is bisexual you CANNOT CONVINCE ME OTHER WI

-sorry staying on topic

-Anyways important to note all these characters and their varying beliefs rarely have clear cut answers who's right and who's wrong

-except maybe Lancelot in that top point

-but is that due to lack of magic or just not knowing where it comes from???? 👀

-Guys is magic and religion and mythology true or real??? Or is it what we put in it??? Do we give it power when we believe it???? WAS THE ROUND TABLE AND CAMELOT EVER TRULY AS PERFECT AS THE TALES SAY OR IS THAT JUST SOMETHING WE HAVE TO TELL OURSELVES SO WE HAVE THE WANT TO STRIVE FOR GOOD??? IT'S WHAT WE TELL THE KIDDOS WHO WILL BE OUR FUTURE

-Guys Jordan Donica low key agrees with me. He's never had a bad take about Camelot ever. So like trust me fam.

-or maybe there's like a line or plot point I completely forgot about and someone will point it out in the replies and this whole house of cards will fall apart 😔 IDK thoughts??? Feelings???? Guys plz send food through the bars of my enclosure I need it I'm sooooo mentally stable I prommyyy 🥰

A tale about falling in love, hiding who you are, sacrificing everything for your job, and trying to catch a murderer while doing it all. No wonder Merlin is stressed and depressed.

Capping off this year’s Arthurian obsession with a viewing of the movie version of Camelot which I have not seen at a point this week. (I saw a proshot of the Richard Harris revival on stage). But really 2023 truly was my King Arthur obsession year. Just an absolute deep dive over the course of the year.

"okay so the mechanisms are a narrative band who travel various galaxys (HAVING FUN, VIOLENCE, ADVENTURE, VIOLENCE, VIOLENCE,) in their starship (the starship aurora < 3) and write albums and songs about the stories they watch go down and sometimes are part of (i.e: drumbot brian being in camelot during hnoc) and their last album being a mix of their other albums . once upon a time (in space) is based on fairytales , ulysses dies at dawn is based on greek myths and gods , the bifrost incident is based on norse mythology , high noon over camelot is based on arthurian legends, death to the mechanisms is about the mechanisms' final deaths and is a mashup of their other albums (mostly the bifrost incident) . the mechs themselves are almost-immortal space pirates who died once and got revived by doctor carmilla , being "mechanized" aka having a mechanical version of the organ (or organs) that killed them the first time replacing said organ, and each member has a TON of lore and backstory but im not gonna talk about all that right now . the band consists of jonny d'ville (the ship's first mate who calls himself captain since doctor carmilla got pushed out the airlock, but always gets corrected by the other members) whose mechanism is his heart, gunpowder tim (master at arms , blew up the moon one time) whose mechanism is his eyes, drumbot brian (pilot, was the hanged man/merlin in high noon over camelot, got thrown into space twice) whose mechanism is everything except his heart, baron marius von raum (ships' "doctor", neither a baron nor a doctor) whose mechanism is his arm, the toy soldier (role N/A, a wooden toy soldier brought to life, canonically uses it/its) whose mechanism is everything except its voice (which it stole from someone else), ashes o'reilly (quartermaster, burnt down a whole planet once) whose mechanism is their lungs,... ...uuhhh ALSO MARIUS WAS ALSO IN BIFROST INCIDENT PRISON I FORGOT anyway . raphaella la cognizi (science officer, was in prison during the bifrost incident) whose mechanism is her wings, ivy alexandria (was also in prison during the bifrost incident, so autistic it could kill, remembers her backstory in dreams and forgets when she wakes up) whose mechanism is her brain, nastya rasputina (threw herself out of the airlock before the bifrost incident, was dating the starship aurora before she got airlocked) whose mechanism is her blood, and doctor carmilla (mechanism N/A) who mechanized most of the mechanisms (implied nastya did instead to some of them) and got pushed out of the airlock , implied jonny pushed her (also theres a fiction on the mechs website about the crew interviewing eachother after it happened, its Who killed doctor carmilla? and it has MORE CARD SYMBOLISM. Matthew Langford Perry was an American and Canadian actor. He starred as Chandler Bing on the NBC television sitcom Friends from 1994 to 2004, and won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for the role. Perry also appeared on Ally McBeal (2002) and received Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his performances in The West Wing (2003) and The Ron Clark Story (2006). He gained a leading role in the NBC series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip which aired from 2006 to 2007. Perry also became known for his leading film roles in Fools Rush In (1997), Almost Heroes (1998), Three to Tango (1999), The Whole Nine Yards (2000), Serving Sara (2002), The Whole Ten Yards (2005), and 17 Again (2009).

Perry was co-creator, co-writer, executive producer, and star of the ABC sitcom Mr. Sunshine, which ran from February to April 2011. In August 2012, he starred as sportscaster Ryan King on the NBC sitcom Go On. Perry co-developed and starred in a revival of the CBS sitcom The Odd Couple portraying Oscar Madison from 2015 to 2017. He had recurring roles in the legal dramas The Good Wife (2012–2013), and The Good Fight (2017). He portrayed Ted Kennedy in The Kennedys: After Camelot (2017) and appeared as himself in Friends: The Reunion (2021).

Perry suffered from severe addictions to drugs and alcohol. Through his recovery, he became an advocate for rehabilitation and spokesperson for the National Association of Drug Court Professionals. In 2015, Perry sold the mansion and relocated its services.[82]

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Perry launched an apparel line inspired by Friends, with proceeds donated to the World Health Organization's COVID-19 relief fund.

On October 28, 2023, Perry was found unresponsive in his hot tub by his assistant at his home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, and later pronounced dead by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department. LAPD Captain Scot Williams said the "cause of death may not be known for some time, but at this point foul play is not suspected." On October 29, 2023, the cause of death was listed as "deferred" by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, pending "additional investigative steps".

2023 Tony Awards Winners List

Broadway’s biggest night is back! The 2023 Tony Awards were held on Sunday, June 11, at the United Palace in New York City’s Washington Heights.

Julianne Hough and Skylar Astin kicked off the night as they hosted The Tony Awards: Act One, a live pre-show on Pluto TV. The first winners of the night were announced, and Jennifer Grey presented a Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre to her father, Joel Grey.

Oscar winner (and Tony nominee) Ariana DeBose led the second part of the night, which aired at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
