Arty-Fact: “I shot Beyoncé for the first time in 2000 for Vibe magazine, when she was part of Destiny’s Child. I knew she was a superstar right away. She walked in and I said to her mother, Tina, who was styling the shoot: 'This one in the middle here, she’s going to be a huge star.' Tina looked at me like: 'Yeah, we know.' After that, things really started taking off with music shoots.” ~ Markus Klinko

Many of my photos of 2022 are taken at the beach, during the day while people enjoyed their time. I watched the beautiful sunsets until the sky turned into indigo blue with the smattering of white twinkling stars. This was one of my favorite #photojournalistic moments. A #surfer placed his #surfboards on the beach while he walked away and talked to his friend under the pier. It was by happenstance that I was nearby when I saw this opportunity. Eddie OTCHERE: “Aaliyah was in town for a junket for her album; she was just another pop act on Jive Records but she always had that voice. The shoot happened at a hotel in Swiss Cottage. It was me and my mate Andrew Green. We lived locally together and tag teamed these shoots together. He would do the story and I would do the pictures – that was our thing. We were doing the story for Touch magazine; they didn’t really want to run it because they saw her as a nominal pop act. I’m not sure if they ran the story; they might have but I have no real memory of it.

He also says: "I got the feeling she was uncomfortable around adults, but was comfortable around her own peers. We were relatively the same age; I think we were three years older."

Janusz Walczuk – rapper, singer and music producer – is an idol of the youngest generation and new ambassador of the iconic brand CONVERSE. Pawel FABIANSKI realized the accompanying portraits in his ever-refreshing and modern visual language. To do so this time, he simply brought the live atmosphere of a concert into the recording studio. Pawel : “The shoot took place in a sophisticated recording studio, enhanced with set design elements created with the use of AI tools. The narrative captures the essence of Walczuk’s creative process, blurring the lines between the intimate setting of the recording studio and the electrifying atmosphere of a live concert.”
