WIP excerpt tag

Everybody thank @frostedlemonwriter for tagging me on another WIP excerpt with no word count limit. I wrote a kissing scene last night LOL.

Went a bit apeshit with tagging people the last few days so this is an open tag!

As Royston rounded the corner, he heard Hofer's voice saying, "Swing your leg same as you would normally. Take your time, I'm not going anywhere." "I am!" Royston announced, hands on his hips, striding slow and appraising towards his man. Didn't look the same, sat in the saddle with one leg. Didn't expect him to. Didn't hesitate to walk right over to that horse without acknowledging Hofer, who was stood at Molly's head. Who stepped back to make room for Royston as he approached, drawing Sullivan's eyes, his attention, the blood to his core. Royston saw the way his trunk lifted taller, his lungs drew deeper, his entire being turned toward Royston as if Royston were the Sun and he Helianthus leaning towards its rays. "Hello, lover," Royston purred, ambling beside that damned horse and planting his right boot in the stirrup. Lifting himself up and up and up, to Sullivan's face. His beard was trimmed, and oiled. Novelty in both, an astringent smell replacing the sweat to which Royston was accustomed. His hair was washed, and combed, and smelled of pomade. Another novelty. He smelled talc powder under Sullivan's arms, and imagined it applied to the other crevices in his body, the places where sweat could accumulate. All clean and ready for him. Royston shuddered as he inhaled, taking him in, heartbeat taking off at a gallop. Heat between them held, and fanned, and caught. He watched Sullivan take deeper breaths, read the lines of his face, his body, inventorying him. Lingering on the aspects of Royston he liked. Always took Sullivan so long to complete his inventory. They'd be here all night just staring at each other, if Sullivan had his way. Never in his life had Royston met anyone who proclaimed to like him, who could sit and list off qualities without hesitation. Sullivan never tried to butter him up. He hadn't had to. Royston did not know if this was true, but he liked to think he was smart enough to recognize a catch when he saw one. Sullivan wasn't just a catch. He was a haul. And he hauled Royston up the rest of the way by a gloveful of shirt, sealing their mouths together, his fate to his, there in the dark behind The German House. Hofer looking away, watching the street, the sky above them cloudy and quiet and— Royston couldn't help but moan into Sullivan's mouth. He felt the urge to climb into the saddle with him, and was about to, when Hofer interrupted. "Would you two go to your room? Jesus God almighty!"
