I'm sorry for this but I understand the hate over chainsmokers. they're racist, misogynistic etc. I could honestly care less about those two but I trust Bangtan and I know they won't disappoint us, especially with their music. have they ever disappoint us with music?? if Bangtan can respect those problematic boys as fellow artists, I'm willing to brush the chainsmokers aside bcs I'm here to support my boys, not them.

Listen, don’t be sorry- I’m pretty sure a lot of us are on the same page (me included). The song will probably be a bop if our boys had any role in producing it. BTS has showed us time and time again that they are capable of creating amazing tracks with meaningful lyrics.

I’ve seen a lot of people (and most of them are white, so it’s not surprising to hear this from them as it is their perspective) who have been saying Everyone chill, it’s just one song. Skip the song if it’s that big of a deal to you. I want to stress that it’s not about the song. The track itself will be great, I’m sure. We all trust Bangtan enough that they’ve probably put in more work on it than the Cumsmokers (as @mygsjjk and I have named them) have– and therefore it will be a great song. That being said, the collaboration, or rather the association of an Asian group who is doing immensely well internationally with these morons who posted a video of them making a racist remark against Asians IN FRONT OF AN ASIAN INTERVIEWER sends a lot of messages.

TLDR; BTS is amazing and talented. The track will most likely be amazing. The Chainsmokers should be held accountable for their words and actions. Those words and actions are not a part of BTS, nor does BTS have the responsibility to address it.

I probably won’t be talking about this issue anymore because you all know how I stand on it. So unless I hear some super interesting perspective on this, I won’t be continuing the discourse. I do however want to point out that the BigHit Marketing/PR team is probably already hearing an earful about this. Let’s just anticipate their comeback and support it well. It’s time to break more records.
