Summary: Eddie has to shower before he can hold his impatient baby. She's having none of it.
a/n: i was attacked by yet ANOTHER cute baby tiktok so here we are with a little bit of grease monkey!eddie and another little drabble. set in the early days of the pennyverse. and yes, i've used this gif before but he's dead so i'm running out of them. mistakes might be fixed later, i dont know :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Are these your little fingers?” You asked your baby, tone saturated in honey and affection as you held the chunky palm in question, lips pressed to her pudgy fingertips.
Despite your aversion to it prior to your pregnancy, you’d inevitably developed a baby voice when Penny had come into the world and you couldn’t be blamed. Not when she was all squish, delicate cheeks holding so much chub they bulged, and rolls decorated her little limbs. She was a glutton, always demanding your milk and you couldn’t deny her; those big, gorgeous eyes she’d inherited from her father made it nearly impossible to, even when the wetness welling up in them were completely alligator tears. And those curls.
Regardless of taming them with some water, a brush and maybe some vaseline, they ended up wild, flying about or mussed and matted to her head with sweat because your baby was a little heater when she slept and napped. Just like her daddy.
Your smile widened in size when you heard the sound of keys slotting into place at the front door, the lock mechanism giving away. It tripled when you realized your baby also recognized the sound, head turning to stare at the door as she bobbed in place, thick legs squatting and then popping back up as you held her by her waist with your other hand, assisting her with standing.
The moment Eddie opened the door and came into view she began cooing and squealing in excitement, mouth parting in a wide smile as drool raced down from the corner of her mouth.
You laughed, and so did Eddie as he heard his baby welcoming him home.
“You excited to see me, sweet pea?” He cooed right back, walking over to squat in front of the two of you, eyes raking over you momentarily in appreciation before focusing on the little one in your arms.
She let out another long coo that ended on an airy sigh, pulling her hand from your grasp to reach both of her pudgy ones out to him, practically begging him to hold her as she began wiggling in your arms.
Eddie’s head tilted, lips curling into the most tender smile as he stared down at her with nothing but love swimming in those eyes he’d shared with her.
“Daddy missed you and mommy so much.” He whispered, a hand reaching out, almost close enough to caress her soft cheek but it hesitated before he could touch her. His rough, grease covered finger was a stark contrast to her clean, smooth skin. Clearly, you’d given her a bath before he got home because her mouth and cheeks were usually covered in the food you were starting to offer her (sometimes baby food, but mostly bits of your food because she wouldn’t accept any offerings of mushed up veggies and fruits if there was something else on your plate, hence why your diet had been pretty bland and not at all a result of the tight budget your maternity leave left you on).
The rest of his hands were no better, palms stained, streaks all over his arms as a result of shucking the top half of the monkey suit and rolling up his sleeves at the garage.
There were even a few streaks of grease and maybe oil on his face and neck. Your husband smelled more so of tires than he had the spicy cologne that surrounded you when he’d kissed you goodbye in bed this morning.
  And he knew it.
Penny didn’t let that stop her, still eagerly reaching out for him as she grunted to try and provoke him in swooping her up into his embrace.
“As soon as daddy’s clean, okay? I’ll pick you up and my sweet girl can give me all the cuddles she wants.” He promised, hands on his knees before he stood back up, leaning over her to give you a sweaty, greasy oh so sweet and firm press of the lips kiss before he swiveled around and disappeared into the small bathroom as quickly as he could to be out of hearing range when Penny began whimpering at his absence.
You heard the shower start running at the exact moment she began to cry and you offered a sympathetic whine of your own as you adjusted your grip on her, bringing Penny up to your chest, your cheek smushed against her more plump one.
“Shhh…it’s okay, my love. Daddy’s just showering. He’ll be back.” You stood up, hitching Penny on your hip as you walked to the entrance of the small hallway so the bathroom door was visible to her. Eddie’s humming floated out from underneath the crack of it.
Penny was Eddie’s daughter, alright, full of dramatics as her breathing remained heavy, chest rising and falling quickly with the hitches in her breath as a chunky fist gripped onto your blouse, lower lip curling out and wobbling. She didn’t seem satisfied with your explanation but that didn’t worry you. If Penny was awake when Eddie left for work in the morning, she’d start bawling.
The first couple of times she’d started reacting to his departure, he’d ended up full of guilt and late to work. It still wasn’t easy for him, even after you’d finally convinced him she’d have the same reaction whether he left in the morning, afternoon, or evening. Regardless of the time, she was going to be upset that she wouldn’t be able to see her daddy, probably convinced in her little baby mind that he’d abandoned her (he’d nearly quit the shop when you’d phrased it like that) but he’d always come home to her—and you—and that’s what mattered.
You were positive she’d start yelling and shrieking when it came time for you to go back to work, too. She was just a baby, so she was being a baby.
You carried your huffing and puffing daughter back to the living room, placing her down on the carpet in front of some toys she had been playing with earlier in the day. Maybe they’d distract her.
  Wrong.
She sat on the carpet, chunky legs strewn out for just a few seconds before she was moving forward onto her belly and propping herself up. Then she was off, crawling as fast as she could towards the hallway while breathing heavily with exhilaration. You trailed after her, amused at how stubborn she was when she stopped directly in front of the bathroom door, propping herself up on her bottom.
You watched Penny reach out with shaky palms, pressing them gently against the door. It looked like they were feeling around it before she began slapping them against it as hard as she could as she yelled her baby babble, no doubt demanding her daddy open the door, pick her up and love her right now.
Giggles were muffled into your palm, as she kept up with it.
Eventually, maybe when she realized that wasn’t working, Penny leaned over, wiggling around until she was on her tummy and the side of her head was resting on the carpet. You realized she was trying to look under the door for him and your heart clenched, hand flying over your chest as if you could grasp the organ.
You expected her to sit back up and go back to smacking the door but she remained there, a stubby finger absentmindedly trailing through the carpet as she stared through the thin crack, warm bathroom light and Eddie’s voice flooding out from underneath to comfort her as she waited.
Picking her up had crossed your mind, and so did the idea of how loudly she’d probably start screaming and crying if you did.
The two of you didn’t have to wait for long, the shower shut off and you could hear the sounds of the shower curtain rings scraping against the rod as Eddie pulled them back.
Panic briefly filled your chest as you realized Eddie probably wasn’t expecting his baby to be lying on the floor directly outside of the bathroom—he’d step on her, so you called out, “Heads up, Eddie, you’ve got a visitor.”
You didn’t hear a response, but a few moments later, the door opened to reveal your husband. Water droplets slipped down his neck and chest. He had one towel—that had definitely seen better days—wrapped around his waist and another (yours) he was using to scrunch up his sopping wet curls to dry them.
Eddie had heard you, shooting you a smirk before he addressed the baby beaming up at him, “Shower’s free if you wanna hop in, stinky.”
Penny had no idea what he was saying, it didn’t matter anyways because he said it in the same voice he used when he gave her kisses and held her to his chest so she was reaching up for him and he finally reached down—with clean hands—grasping her sides before she was hoisted into his arms. Penny wasted no time, mouth parting wide to mouth aggressively at his face and chin while she shook her head and wiggled about.
  She was giving him kisses.
Or trying to eat him, she had little bursts of energy where she’d do that—attack you out of nowhere while you held her causing the both of you to break out laughing.
Eddie let her get it all out, and when she cooed, resting her cheek on his shoulder, he retaliated. Her cheeks and little neck rolls were smattered in his smacking kisses as she squealed and shrieked and wiggled but there was no escaping her daddy’s clutches now that she was finally in them.
When every inch of her available to him had been kissed, he turned towards you and you suddenly found yourself victim to two sets of identical crinkly brown eyes. A deep chuckle rumbled from Eddie as he padded over to where you stood, mischievous smirk making another appearance.
  “Mommy’s turn.”

as a kid i was so scared of my parents splitting up, what if roan learns someone in her class’ parents are divorcing and it sends her spiralling thinking she’d never see reader again?
thank you jade 💛
thank you for requesting lovely ♡ eddie and roan (almost) stepmom!reader, 2k
"Yeah, I got the expensive kind," you're saying, phone sandwiched between your ear and your shoulder, a knife held loosely in your hand. "I don't wanna make it wrong."
Roan can vaguely hear the rumble of her Uncle's voice on the other side giving reassurances.
You scrape the blade of the knife against the cutting board. "I know. I know, Wayne, I swear, just… I hardly ever make him dinner and this is our last anniversary before we get married, and– I know. Sorry, that's– I know, you don't mind, it's just–"
Roan attaches herself to your hip like an octopus, looking up at you as you look down. You smile at her, putting your knife flat to stroke her hair.
"She's right here," you say, "she's helping me… okay. Thanks, Wayne, you're the best. See you tomorrow. Alright, I will. Bye."
You put your hand behind Roan's shoulder and walk her with you to the phone. As soon as you've hung it back on the hook, you scoop her up to hold against your chest, even if she's getting longer and longer every day. "Hey, babe. Uncle Wayne says he loves you and he missed you today. He wants to make you dinner tomorrow, so we'll find your nice blue dress tonight and put it in the wash."
Roan flops her face against your neck. "I love him too."
"He knows." You press your cheek to hers briefly. "Okay, you wanna sit on the top with me and I'll finish making today's dinner?"
Roan's happy to sit on the counter and swing her legs as you finish making the pot pie. It's one of Eddie's favourites because his mom used to make it a couple of times a month, and so it's one of Roan's favourites, her lips quirked with excitement as you chop onions, carrots and celery into small pieces for the frying pan.
"I love the carrots," she says.
"Yeah?" You uncap the cooking oil to pour a generous splash into the pan. "Want me to put extra in? I don't mind."
Roan nods enthusiastically. "Yes!"
She's happy watching you cook at first, but she gets quieter as you finish up. By the time the pie is in the oven she's picking at her little nails, shards of polish in her lap like powdered sugar.
"You okay?" you ask, wiping your hands clean. She shrugs. You shrug back. "What's that mean?"
"I'm thinking."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah." Roan pokes her toes into your thigh.
"Well, daddy's home soon, but you know you can tell me."
"Mm," she hums, holding out her hand. You don't take it, folding her into your arms for a hug instead.
It would usually make her feel better, but Roan feels ten times worse as you soften your tone to a less cheerful murmur, "Got another tummy ache?"
"Not that."
"What is it?" you ask.
She hides her face in your shoulder, pert nose to your soft shirt.
"You don't have to tell me," you whisper. "Sorry. I'm not trying to pressure you, I promise, I just love you." You turn saccharine again, patting her back as you dote excitedly into the top of her head. "Love you love you love you!" You punctuate with a kiss, and Roan starts crying.
Eddie's startled but not too worried to get home to the sound of Roan crying. She certainly cries less and less now that she's getting older, but children cry so often that he doesn't think it's worth panicking over.
He can hear you already on the case as he peels out of his sweaty coat and boots. "That's not going to happen," you comfort, voice bouncing off of kitchen tile, the hum of the oven like a baseboard. "It's hard to believe me, but it won't. Me and daddy are super happy."
His eyebrows rise of their own accord. "Hello?" he asks, moving down the hallway and into your bright kitchen.
Roan sits in the shadow of a corner cabinet, hunched over her knees with her face held up by defeated hands, tears wetting her rosy cheeks. You stand in front of her with your hand on shoulder, bent to her eye-level, glancing sideways at him momentarily before you say, "Look, dad's home. He's gonna say the exact same thing as me, I swear. Should we ask him?"
Eddie takes the mantle by your side, quick to rub the tears from Roan's cheek with his pinky. His hands aren't clean enough for anything more. "What's wrong?" he asks.
"Nothing," Roan says, her voice strangled by a big sob.
"Babe!" Eddie laughs, half-hearted. "I can see something's super wrong. I might be a dumb boy, but I know when my girl's upset, don't I?"
"You're not a dumb boy," Roan says.
"Oh. Thank you, Ro."
"You're a dumb man."
"Very funny." He combs unruly coils of dark hair behind her ear, finger following down the curve to her shoulder. "Quick, tell me what's wrong. Just tell me. Rip it off like a bandaid."
"It's silly," Roan murmurs.
"Says who?"
"Says me."
"Oh," Eddie says, giving you a look to make sure it's alright before he monopolises her attention. You raise your hands with a small smile, as if to say, Please. "Come here, me. I'm gonna have to squeeze this out of you, huh?"
He leans back, shifting her weight against his hip, arm stretched over the breadth of her back. He's not smug, but it does bring a satisfaction to see how swiftly she calms down once he's holding her. It's a familiar picture, Eddie with his lips to her forehead, a crease between his brow just like Uncle Wayne's as he rubs her back, and Roan, a mirror image of her father, palpable relief in her hands as they tangle in his hair. Less familiar but getting there is you at their side, your cheek on Eddie's shoulder and your hand on his elbow.
"What's it gonna take to let me in on the secret?" he asks. He's making a spoiled child accidentally, always bribing and bartering for good behaviour.
"Nothing…" Her mumbling tickles his cheek as she shifts around. "I'm worry‐ing," —her voice skips over the word, like a hiccup— "about something because of Stacy."
"Oh yeah? What did Stacy do?"
"She said her mom, um, her mom said she's getting a divorce. That Stacy won't see her dad again, and it'll just be her and her mom."
Eddie doesn't judge people much. He can't imagine caring about other people's divorces when Roan was born from a fling and pretty much left on his doorstep —circumstances don't determine your kid's happiness alone. He does worry for Stacy, and his poor empathetic little girl.
"That's terrible, bubby," Eddie placates, patting her back.
"It's– well, it's– I'm…" Roan huffs.
"Whatever you tell me is fine, promise. No grounding, no telling off."
"I know, daddy, it's just hard to say."
Eddie feels himself physically melt.
He leans back against the kitchen counter and shifts her against his stomach. His arms burn with the effort of keeping her secured to him, and he's not loving her sad tone —the quicker he finds out what's wrong, the better. He peeks over her head at you for hints.
You're uncomfortable, shifting from one foot to the other like your feet hurt.
"What?" he asks you.
You clear your throat. "I think she's worried about me. If something happened between us, she's worried she won't see me again."
Eddie would like to think after two years of loving his daughter, watching her grow, and all together being a cherished and irreplaceable part of her life and her support system, that you'd find it impossible to leave her. Even if you left Eddie, you wouldn't leave Ro. He knows that. But only two years… he knows you'd love Roan even if he screws things up, but he can't promise her that things would be the same, because they wouldn't be.
That's not what she's asking, though.
"What, you think you won't see Y/N anymore?' Eddie murmurs, rubbing her back.
"She's not my full mom," Roan whispers.
Eddie reaches past Roan to squeeze your elbow. "You know, that doesn't matter, honey. And after the wedding–"
"You call me mom for a reason, right?" you cut him off.
Roan lifts her head from Eddie's. "Yeah."
"Okay, so, say me and dad get married, and then by some impossibility we realise we can't stay married, will you love me less?"
"No," Roan says with a pout.
"I wouldn't love you any less, either. I didn't know I could love someone this much 'til I met you," you say, voice scratchy like you're talking past gravel. "So things would change, but not how much I love you. I'd still see you."
You sound tentative. Eddie's way less hesitant. "Of course you'd still see each other. Babe, if me and mom break up it'll be because I did something stupid, so you'd see her every time I tried to apologise." He grins at you. "How long do you think it would take you to forgive me?"
"Depends on what you did." You smile fondly. "Probably not long, Munson."
"I have a weird feeling we're gonna last."
Roan sniffles. "I just don't want mom to move away," she says.
You and Eddie have already spoken about this. Serious but not sombre, on your backs in bed. You're not just marrying me, Eddie'd said, terrified of how much he wanted you to say certain things, and how you might not say them at all. This isn't just a promise to me. I know how much I'm asking from you, it's not a small thing. I won't blame you if you can't say yes, but this is… she's my world.
I already said yes. And I knew what I was saying yes to, you'd replied, holding your hand up above you, the two of you staring in wonder at the ring on your marriage finger. I promise, Eds. I won't let either of you down.
"Where do you think I'm going, princess? Me and dad are so happy. I'm staying right here stuck to his hip for the rest of time, but only if you're gonna stick to mine." You duck your head to touch your noses together briefly. "I'm not going anywhere."
"Promise?"
"Promise you." He swears you're twisting your engagement ring, but he can't quite see. "Can I have her?" you ask.
"Sure. My noodle arms are about to snap anyway."
"Noodle arms," you repeat, stealing Ro from him smoothly. "Yeah, right."
He flexes appreciatively at your comment.
Roan snuggles up to your neck, little face in the curve of it, her arms curling around you. You hold her tight and bend back under her weight, an arm against her thighs and another behind the small of her back, hand twisted up to brush her curls.
"Love you," you say softly. You're smiling like you've got everything you ever wanted. "Maybe if me and daddy break up I can just take you with me."
"Yeah!" Roan says with a gasp.
Eddie rolls his eyes. "Whatever, girls. Neither of you can cook, you know that? Maybe tonight you guys can practise your new life together by not eating the dinner I'm gonna cook." Time to lighten the mood, lest Roan spend a special night lethargic.
You beam at him. "I already made dinner. Happy anniversary, handsome."
You exchanged gifts and kisses already that morning before work, but Eddie's happy to accept another quick kiss over Ro's shoulder. He dots one on his daughter's cheek to keep things fair.
"Lucky us, huh?" he says to Ro.
He's not strictly talking about dinner, and it's cheesy, but you light up like a Christmas tree. "Lucky me."

You and Eddie taking one of those romantic bubble baths together in a big jacuzzi and he shaves your pretty pussy for you
Tw: pregnancy
My brain went to reader being pregnant bc they can’t reach bc of their baby belly.
He would be so gentle, helping you into the water making sure you don’t slip and fall. He would put in the jets for you bc he knows your back has been aching from the weight of the baby. Once he also got in he would let you soak for a bit before hand and massage your feet and ankles. He would let you lean up against him and just hold you until you asked him to help shave out of the blue. It has been so long and it was getting long, longer than you liked, and Eddie’s seen everything anyways so why not?
“What no, baby I like your little bush” he smirks
“But that bush is not so little anymore it’s too long you won’t been be able to find my pussy in this jungle I’m growing.” You huff
“Baby you’re being ridiculous, let’s just enjoy the rest of this bath and we will go to bed and I’ll show you how good of an explorer I am.” Eddie laughed.
“Baby please! I don’t feel sexy anymore I just wanna have this one thing” you pout.
“Woah woah woah. Don’t feel sexy anymore? How is that even possible? You’re the sexiest woman I know. You have all the curves a man could dream of… especially now bc your boobies are getting bigger and your ass is getting bigger and knowing your growing our baby… fuck your are my superwoman”
You try and hide yourself in Eddie’s chest but he doesn’t let you. He knows you don’t take compliments very well.
“Look at me baby” you look up at his eyes. Yours were staring to water, the pregnancy hormones were really bad and you cried at everything now. “You really want me to do this for you?” Eddie countered.
“Please” you sniffled.
“Okay baby.” He kisses your head before stepping out of the tub to get your razor and shaving cream.
When he got back he plopped you up on the side of the tub so he could get a good angel to not cut you.
Once he was finished you were really aroused. Having Eddie stair at your pussy, and touching it was getting you worked up. Eddie could see how the blood had rushed to your pussy, making your lips fuller. And now with the hair gone he could see how swollen your clit had gotten and now wet you were. He couldn’t help but lean in and kiss you there but he couldn’t get a good angle because your baby got in the way.
“Come on mama, I gotta treat this pussy right after threatening her with a razor. Gotta show her how much I love her” Eddie pulled you into the bedroom and you had one of the best orgasms of your life

Being Weird Is Cool
(SingleDad!Eddie Munson x SingleMom!Reader)
Summary: You and your son are new to Hawkins and meet Eddie and his daughter at the park. WK: 1.7K
Warnings: None really, this is just a fluffy sweet little self indulgent meet cute. Eddie and Reader are in their mid 20s and their kids are around 5 going into Kindergarten. Modern AU. Reader is implied to be alternative but it doesn’t have to be read that way.🩵 But as always, my blog is still 18+
A/N: So this is just a cute little blurb that came to me. I always see single dad Eddie but I hardly ever see single mom reader so I thought this would be cuteee. My son has a speech condition and I never see kids with special needs in fics so this is just something small n cute n close to my heart. Maybe I’ll turn it into a series of blurbs about these four, we will see. If anyone has any ideas/requests for these four I’d totally be open to writing them. 🤭🖤Part 2 - My Masterlist - Series Masterlist
“Excuse me, is that your child?”
You looked up from your phone, hearing the voice of an irritated sounding woman, ready to defend your son at a moment's notice. But when you looked up she wasn’t talking to you, she was standing in front of the man who was sitting on the bench next to yours. A scowl on her face, her hands on her hips, and a pudgy little boy with tears in his eyes and chocolate smudged all over him by her side. She tilted her head towards the little girl across the playground that had been playing with your son since you got here. She was very clearly this man’s daughter by the way the unruly brown curls on their heads matched. She was sitting on the ground next to your son with her hand on his shoulder, seemingly comforting him.
“Yeah, she’s mine. What’s up?” The man sounded annoyed, rightfully so.
“Well, she just made my son cry.” The woman scoffed.
He raised an eyebrow at her, looking at your kids then back at her.
“What happened?”
“Apparently she yelled in his face and pushed him over, you really need to teach your daughter how to behave.” The woman’s dirty blonde ponytail that was so tight it looked like it was going to make her eyes bulge he out of her head waved from side to side as she spoke.
“Charlotte! Can you come over here please?” The man called to his daughter, waving her over.
You watched as she stood, dusting wood chips off her black white colored dress before reaching her hand out to your son. She pulled him behind her as she walked over with a determined look on her face.
“Daddy! That little boy was mean to my friend! He told him he was weird and was mocking fun of his voice!” She stomped a little black booted foot and pointed her finger towards the boy in question.
“Charlotte… honey, did you push him over?” He asked her as he stood to his feet, crouching down so he was eye level with her.
At this point you had fully turned your body in their direction, ready to intervene.
“Oli, are you okay baby?” You asked him gently.
“Mommy!!!” He ran over to you and wrapped his arms around your legs, burying his face into your knees.
“What happened honey?” You ran your fingers through his hair and he buried his face further into you. You look over at the man beside you, who looks at you apologetically before turning back to his daughter.
“Char… did you push that boy over there?”
“Yes! But-“
“Hey, no buts, okay? We don’t push people no matter what they do, it's not okay to push.” He told her and he gently rested a large ringed hand on her little shoulder.
“Okay daddy…” she looked down at her little feet with her hands behind her back, bashful.
“Now, do you want to tell me what happened? Calmly.” He titled his head so she was looking him in the eyes again and she pouted. “Come on baby, we can’t fix it if we don’t know.”
“Her PUSHED me! I was just trying play with them and she yelled and pushed!” The little boy spoke up, pointing at her from behind his moms legs.
“No! No! Mean!” Your son, Oliver, who was normally very soft spoken and shy raised his head from your knees to yell at the other boy.
“Okay whoa whoa whoa, let’s everybody calm down.” You looked down at Oli and smiled, rubbing soft circles on his back to try and keep him calm.
“Hey sweetie, your name is Charlotte, right?” You asked her.
“Mhm” She stuck her bottom lip out and nodded.
“Can you tell us what happened please?”
“Yes! That kid!” She pointed and glared at the chocolate covered boy “was being mean to MY new friend! He was mocking fun of his voice and calling him weird! But that’s just not nice!”
It didn’t take you long to figure out what she meant, Oliver was a late talker and very shy. He didn’t talk much and when he did it was only to people he was comfortable with. This wasn’t the first and probably wouldn’t be the last time this happened. Most parents didn’t take the time to teach their kids that everyone is different so you’ve had to take it upon yourself to explain it to them on more than one occasion.
“So that other little boy was being mean to Oli about his voice and you stood up for him, right?”
“Yes! I didn’t want him to play with us and he wouldn’t go away and kept mocking fun of him! so I told him my dad said being weird is cool and I MADE him go away!” She was still stomping her little foot and pointing her little finger at the kid and you had to hold in a laugh at how cute she was.
“Well thank you for standing up for him honey, that’s very sweet of you. But I don’t think your daddy wants you to push people even if they’re mean, right?” You look over to her dad and make eye contact, silently asking for backup.
“Yeah baby, it’s very nice of you to stand up for your friend but I want you to apologize to that little boy for pushing him over, okay?” He put his hand on her back and tilted his head toward the boy and his mother.
“Well is him gonna say sorry? To my friend?” She narrowed her eyes at her father and looked between him and the other child.
“He has nothing to say sorry for! You pushed him! And maybe his mother needs to teach him how to communicate better!” She definitely should not have fucking said that.
“Fucking excuse me???” You stood up and walked past Oliver and straight up to the woman’s pinched face. “We were trying to do the right thing and teach our kids that hitting is never okay but if you want to play it like that?? Okay. How about you teach your son how to treat people? That everyone’s different and it’s not okay to just talk down to people because you don’t understand them? How about you wipe his fucking face and get the fuck out of mine before I show them that maybe hitting isn’t so bad after all.” You practically growled, your eyes boring into hers.
“You people are fucking insane, who let people like you even have children??” She gasped before turning on her heel and leaving the park, dragging her son behind her.
“Fucking bitch.” You scoffed, turning to Oliver and crouching down in front of him. “You okay baby?”
“Yeah mama, okay.” He smiled at you and gave you a thumbs up.
“That was fucking awesome.” The man next to you chuckled and slapped his thigh. “Her face!! She couldn’t even believe you were talking to her like that!!” He laughed.
You looked over at him and smiled, this was the first time you were really looking at him and wow. He was beautiful. You had already noticed his hair but now that you’re looking directly at him you can see his pretty brown eyes, and plush pink lips. When he smiles you see two cute little dimples appear on each side of his mouth and he’s dressed really cute too. Ripped jeans, old band tee, beat up sneakers and a leather jacket. Damn.
“I promise you that is not the first time I’ve dealt with a woman like that and I’m positive it will not be the last.” You chuckled.
“Well you handled it like a goddess, if I was a woman I might’ve punched her.”
“Well I absolutely wanted to.” You both started busting up laughing.
“I’m Eddie, by the way, and you already met Charlotte.” He smiled at you and extended his hand, you took it and told him your name in return.
“And this is Oliver, who you already kinda sorta not really met.” You gestured to your son and Charlotte came bounding over.
“Oli! You want play with me still?” She smiled big at him.
“Yep! Mhm!” He clapped.
“Gotta catch meeeee then!!!!” She ran off towards the playground and he went chasing after her.
“You’re a good dad, not a lot of kids take the time to understand that other kids are different, just because they aren’t taught that at home. You clearly teach her well.” You said with a smile.
“Yeah, I try to teach her that everyone’s different. I mean look at me, it’s not like I had the easiest time growing up, or even now other parents judge me and look down on me for being a single dad and well, just being me. I never want her to feel like that.” He watched his daughter run after your son with a fond smile.
“Yeah” You looked down at your own ripped jean shorts and tights and smiled. “Yeah, I think I get that.”
“Are you guys new in town? I haven’t seen you around and I think I’ve seen everyone in this town at least once”
“Oh, yeah, me and him just moved here last week so we don’t really know anyone yet. I’m hoping once the kids start school next month he will have a bit of an easier time making friends.” You sighed. “He’s just really shy, he has a hard time talking and he gets really nervous.”
“Well, it looks like he already has one friend.” He smiled at you and pointed towards the playground where Oli was pushing Charlotte on the swing.
“Looks like it.” You looked over at Eddie and smiled.
“And that goes for you too, you know? You have one friend now too, if you want.” He smiled at you hopefully, those cute dimples showing.
“Yeah? I think I’d like that.” You felt your face warm when you smiled back at him.
“We were going to get ice cream after this, do you guys want to come? It’s just down the street we usually walk from here.”
“That actually sounds really nice Eddie, thank you.”
“KIDS!!! Ice cream!!?!!” He yelled the magic words and huge grins spread across both their faces as they came running full speed towards you.
Maybe Hawkins wouldn’t be so bad.

It’s different this time when Eddie leaves home - he’s off work, but leaving home. It doesn’t feel right. It doesn’t feel right with how he left things, slamming the door on his way out and driving off without a thought.
The motel bed is lumpy, and it smells weird in the room. He’s sure he saw a bug crawl across the wall. And if he were to be killed, no one would know and he couldn’t call for help - the line to the phones being down.
He’s pressing the heel of his hands into his eyes, his wet lashes flattening.
“You knew what you were getting into when I told you about this job!”
“But it takes all your time, Eddie! I barely see you. Chance barely sees you. He misses you when he’s gone!”
“Oh, don’t use him against me!”
“I’m not using anything against you, Eddie. I’m telling you how I feel because you asked! You did!”
He did ask - that’s where he went wrong. Although it was a rhetorical question - ‘what do you want me to do?’ - he didn’t like the answer you gave him.
He flips in the bed, eyes staring at the door as he tries blinking away the burn that would lead to inevitable tears.
“There you go. Running away like you always do!”
“I’m not running!”
“You are! You’re running away because you don’t want to listen to me! I should’ve known better than to think you’d understand because you always want everything to go your way or you’ll throw a fit!”
He’s shoving clothes into a bag, walking out of the room and towards the door. He can hear sniffles, but he’s angry and he doesn’t want to feel suffocated in a house filled with tension.
He slams the door.
He was acting like his father.
Running away when things got too tough and he couldn’t handle it - didn’t want to deal with it. He remembered when there were nights when he heard his mom crying in her bedroom then the shake of the trailer when his dad would leave.
He would always go into the kitchen and grab two cookies from the jar, walking into her room. He would climb into the mountain of covers, cuddling up to her side and hand her the cookie. She would always thank him.
‘I’ll save it for later.’ She would always say, pressing a kiss to his temple. He would find them tossed into the trash.
He hates to think Chance is doing the same. Consoling you when he’s the one who should be. Eddie grew up too fast - emotionally - to protect himself from the words of his family and other people.
He lifts from the bed, rubbing a hand down his face. He had left his bag inside his truck because he didn’t know if he was going to sleep in the truck or a motel - or leave and go home.
His eyes linger on the black phone near the bed, huffing out a sigh, pushing himself up from the bed and walking towards the door. He knows it was useless when he was handing the woman behind the window a fifty for a single night.
There’s a pay phone on the other side of the hotel. He bites at the skin inside his cheek, pulling out a loose quarter that was in his pocket.
He walks along the gravel, eyes staying on his shadow that follows him along towards the pay phone on the gravel that was lit up by a green color from the word MOTEL.
He slips the quarter in, picking up the phone from the receiver. His finger hovers over the metal keypad, breath shuddering as he finally types in a number he knows by heart.
It rings three times. “Hello?” You sound tired, congested with snot. His eyes squeeze shut and his forehead rests on the side of the payphone. He probably shouldn’t, he doesn’t know who has used it or touched it.
“It’s me,” He breathes out. It’s silent. He digs into his pocket, searching for another quarter, lips pulling into a frown when he doesn’t find one in either pocket. “I just… I wanted to call and tell you I'm sorry,” His fingers grip the phone between his rough palms.
“And what I said, I didn’t mean. You… you were just trying to tell me how you felt - I should’ve listened to you instead of immediately jumping on you.”
You sigh over the phone. There’s a scratching on the other side. “I'm sorry too.”
His brows pinch together. “Honey… No, you don’t-”
You’re cutting him off. “No. I am. I should’ve… I shouldn’t have jumped down your throat either,” You sigh again. “We should’ve sat down and talked about it like adults.”
There’s a beeping and he presses his fingers between his eyes. “Listen, sweetheart. I don’t have much longer this quarter. But… I’ll, uh…”
“You’ll come home?” There’s a quiver in your voice and his eyes open and head tilts when he hears it. He feels his own throat get heavy with emotion - he gulps it down like pins and needles. His thumb moves back and forth on the back of the telephone.
“Yeah… Yeah, I’ll come home. We don’t have to talk about it tonight. We can tomorrow.”
“That sounds good.”
The drive home was quick. He had left his bag in his truck, again, jogging up the steps. He unlocks the door and opens it, stepping inside. On the couch, he notices Chance. A blanket over his small body, small snores escaping his nose.
He walks over, carefully lifting his sleeping body. His cheek smooshes against Eddie’s shoulder, arms dropped by his side. Eddie rubs a hand up and down his back.
He passes by you in the kitchen, a hand to your bicep, squeezing softly, before nudging Chance’s door open with the toe of his boot. He lies him down, placing the bunny closer to him and lifting the blanket over his shoulders. He leans down, pressing a kiss to his forehead before flipping on his dinosaur night light that circles around the room in reds, blues, greens, and oranges.
He turns and walks out of the room, shutting the door quietly before walking to the kitchen. He watches you for a moment before walking behind you, hands rubbing up and down before slipping up to your shoulders.
His thumbs dig into your tense shoulders, his lips pressing against the back of your head. He inhales deeply, catching a whiff of your shampoo and a spritz of your perfume.
His thumb small lines against the base of your spine. “I’m sorry.” He whispers.
You turn in his arms, lifting your hands and pushing his curls away from his face as you nod. “I’m sorry too.”
“You have nothing to be sorry for.”
“I just…” You pause, lips flattening as you look at his chest. His hands slide up your neck before resting on your jaw, rubbing at your cheeks softly. “I’m scared something will happen and you won’t come back.”
“Sweetheart,” He pouts softly before pressing a kiss to the corner of your lips before resting his forehead against yours. He wipes away the fresh set of tears that fall down your flushed cheeks. “Nothing won’t happen to me-”
“You never know.”
“Nothing won’t happen to me,” He repeats, fingers tightening their grip into a firm hold before they soften again. “I’m always safe. I always check everything. I’m safe. But I can always talk to Ron about shortening my days - I’ve been thinking about doing that anyway.”
“Baby, I don’t want you to feel like you have to do that. And-” His lips are on yours to stop your rambling, Your brows lift slightly, hands circling around his wrists. His thumbs wipe under your eyes again when he pulls away slowly, giving you one last peck.
“You’re not making me do anything that I don’t wanna do,” He whispers, nudging his nose against yours. “Like I said, I’ve already thought about having a talk about it. I miss you and Chance when I’m gone. I hate being gone so long.”
Your lip trembles, he places the pad of his thumb against your chin - you still think he’s lying. “I’m not lying.”
You nod a bit, looking down at the ground. He smiles a bit, pushing some hair behind your ear with one hand.
“You tired?” He whispers softly. You nod again. “Come on, sleepyhead. I’ll make you some breakfast in the morning and we can go to the park tomorrow.”
You peek up at him, a small glimmer in your eye. “Really?” He huffs out a small laugh.
“Really.”

Deadbeat dad - e.m
hello angels! i hope you’re all okay. i am not after writing this, i’m legit in floods of tears. it is a sad dad/rockstar!eddie. i am legit heartbroken at this omfg. anyway, enjoy reading🩷 eddie’s part two x steve’s part two x

"i can't make it today, i'm really really busy" you sighed, rubbing your forehead with your free hand as you held the phone to your ear with your other. "this can't keep happening Eddie, she has been wanting to see you for weeks now" this was the third time this month Eddie had cancelled.
your sweet girl Penny had been ecstatic when Eddie spoke to her last week to say that he would be here this weekend and he wasn't. "well i'm sorry y/n but i have things to do. this band is really important to me" you weren't shocked. Eddie had always put the band before his family, that was why you and Eddie split up.
"she's your daughter, she can't fit her life around you anymore. she should be more important then that stupid band you have" you could hear Penny's footsteps upstairs meaning she was now awake. "you know what fuck you. i'm busy all the time and i've only cancelled once, get over yourself" you scoffed, not wanting to argue over the phone you asked one simple question.
"are you going to be here for her birthday next Saturday?" you just hoped for once that he would put his daughter first, she loved him but he just left her hanging all the time. "yes y/n i'll be there. what time" he sounded uninterested, like he didn't really care for the party but it was important to her that he was there.
you felt a little glimmer of hope that maybe he would change and make an effort for one day "be here by three, let me know before if you can't come because i'll have to tell her-" he cut you off "i got it bye" with that he ended the phone slamming it down harshly. you put the phone down and heard Penny quickly approaching the living room.
"mama i need to get ready for daddy" you looked at her with a sympathetic smile. her curls were all over the place but she looked so adorable, holding the small bear she had gotten for her first birthday. you opened your arms for her and she climbed into your lap allowing you to wrap your arms around her, you kissed her forehead a couple of times and sighed.
"daddy can't make it today sweetheart" you felt her shoulders drop. "but why?" her voice was quiet and filled with sadness making your heart break. you brushed her curls out of her face and stroked her cheek "i don't know baby". you saw her cuddle her teddy bear closer and felt her sigh deeply.
"it's okay mama we can do something together right?" she looked up at you as you looked down at her. her eyes were exactly like her dads, it was like looking at a mini Eddie was staring up at you. she only got a few features from you but she was beautiful, the prettiest little girl.
you smiled and nodded your hand running through her hair "of course we can, you pick" she smiled at you and thought about what she would like to do that day and you just prayed that Eddie made it to her party. it was one day, would he really miss his daughters birthday?
-
"is daddy coming today mama?" you heard Penny say as you set up the snack table in your spacious living room ready for the party which was in a few hours. you turned to look at her, she was dressed in a white dress with her curls laying perfectly in a ponytail. "i think so honey, he told me he was coming so i don't see why not"
today was the day you would see if Eddie would show up for his daughter. one day that was so special to her and you were still hoping that he would show up and surprise you all. Steve and Robin had come over to help with everything around the house and you were so grateful to have friends like them, who were willing to take the time to come to your house and help you.
"come on birthday girl, why don't we go upstairs and play with your toys" Robin said as she left you to finish up the snack table. once you heard her bedroom door close you sighed, you knew the chances were very slim that Eddie would show up and you just hoped that he would prove you wrong.
Steve was on a step ladder hanging up a huge banner when he turned to look at you, being careful he wouldn't fall off. "do you think he will turn up?" everyone who knew the situation with you and Eddie knew it was very unlikely that he would turn up.
"i don't think so but i can't say that to her today, i'm just hoping that he does. not for me but for her she deserves it" it had been three years since you and Eddie split up and he had seen Penny maybe 20 times. it went from him seeing her every time he came back here from work to him not making the effort in showing up for her.
"he is being stupid. if he doesn't show up he it's unforgivable. i'll punch him if you need me too" you laughed loudly. it was well known that Steve was not a good fighter but you appreciated the thought. "with your track record i think we should leave the fighting" you smiled at him and looked up at the clock on the wall.
three o'clock had been and gone meaning the party would start soon. "i think Wayne has taken the day off to see her though so that's nice. all her friends are coming so if he doesn't she might be distracted enough to not notice" Steve felt sad for you but especially Penny.
he knew what it was like to have parents that didn't care, didn't bother showing up and he was happy that Penny had you. you always went above and beyond for her and he always admired it. you heard the doorbell ring making you smooth out your dress "it looks perfect okay? i'll go get Penny you open the door" Steve stepped down from the ladder and took it with him as he left you.
you walked to the front door and looked through the peephole to see Wayne standing there with a small, neatly wrapped gift in his hand. "hi Wayne" you said as you opened the door with a smile on your face. Wayne smiled and opened his arms to greet you, you were lucky you always had an amazing relationship with Wayne.
he was always here when you needed him, he helped loads when you and Eddie split up and he always made time for Penny which was the most important thing. "how you doing?" you pulled away from the hug and moved to the side so he could come in.
"i'm okay, very emotional. i can't believe she's five, she's growing up" you followed him into the living room and sat down next to him on the sofa. "i know, seems like only yesterday i got the call from ed's that she'd been born" he instantly realised what he had said and stuttered out an apology which you dismissed "it's okay really, it's a happy memory" it was a touchy subject and you knew Wayne had no ill intentions saying that.
"grandpa Wayne" you heard Penny scream as she saw her grandad was here. "hi princess" he smiled as she ran to him and squealed when he picked her up and placed her on his lap so he could cuddle her. "happy birthday" he kissed her forehead and you smiled at the interaction.
even though bad things happened between you and Eddie, Wayne was always there to tell him that what he did was stupid and that he'd let go of the best thing that would ever happen to him, he was also there for you when you and for that you were forever grateful. Wayne never left.
"did you get everything you wanted" he asked as the two pulled away. you wanted to stay and watch the two of them but another knock at the door pulled you away from the small group.
the next people to arrive were Nancy, Jonathan, Dustin, Will and Mike. you could see a few cars pulling up outside your house so after you greeted them you kept the door open and waiting for them. you could hear Penny giggling in the living room which meant she was happy and that was all that mattered to you today.
once everyone was in the party the kids were dancing and singing whilst the adults lingered around the living room and kitchen talking to one another. you saw Penny and Lottie, one of her school friends dancing with one another making your heart swell with adoration. she looked just looked so happy.
you were standing with Dustin and Steve, watching the kids closely just incase something was to happen. "so, where's Eddie?" Dustin asked as he looked around the room you only sighed and shook your head. "i don't know, i told him to be here at three and it's now four thirty"
you knew something like this would happen just like your gut feeling was telling you it would. "maybe he's just running a little late? i mean it's his daughters birthday for gods sake he needs to be here for her" Dustin rolled his eyes and Steve felt anger filling his body. how could someone do something like this to Penny? the sweetest little girl didn't deserve this.
"i doubt it Dustin. its been almost a month since he last saw her and every weekend he tells her he's gonna be here and then that day rolls around and he isn't. she is heartbroken every time and i'm honestly so close to just cutting off visitation, it's not like he sees her anyway" Dustin nodded and scratched the back of his neck, Eddie was his friend but it was getting harder and harder to defend him.
"he's unfortunately going to find out the hard way, have you told him how this is making her feel?" you nodded and looked at Penny again who had the biggest smile on her face as she danced with more of her friends. "of course i have, every time i get hit with the 'this band is so important to me' but i just keep remembering what it was like before Corroded Coffin took off you know?"
before the band got recognition he worked as a mechanic with Wayne, he made time for you and Penny but it was like as soon as they got the fame he didn't care. his priority changed. "he used to care, he was an amazing dad and i loved him but now i'm stuck wondering how can one person change so quickly. she loves her dad and it breaks my heart seeing her excitement fade as soon as i tell her he isn't coming. it's just too much for her, it's too much for me"
you looked up at the ceiling as you felt tears fill your eyes, you could feel your lip tremble as you tried to keep them in. of course when you and Eddie broke up it broke you, you thought the two of you would be together forever and just seeing the man you love change within a few weeks hurt you badly.
"hey no no don't cry, he isn't worth your tears honey. you're doing an incredible job and he's an asshole" you felt Steve's arm wrap around your shoulders as he pulled you in for a hug. you took a deep breath shocked that you were managing to keep these tears at bay. "it's just one day that i wish he tried, i can manage the other times but it's her birthday and he can't even show up" both boys nodded and you felt Steve's hand stroke your arm.
"he's a dick, but i promise you have all of us and i know it's not how you envisioned your family but you make that little girl so happy and you've done it all on your own. let's try forget about him and enjoy it yeah?" you nodded and kissed Steve’s cheek.
it was now nearing the end of Penny’s party and she was sat on the small sofa which was by the window overlooking the front garden watching as each car drove by the house. she was hoping that one of them would stop and her dad would be there to surprise her but every time the car didn’t stop she felt sadness fill her body.
“sweetheart, everyone’s in the kitchen ready to do your birthday cake” you said as you walked into the living room. “daddy’s not coming is he” you could hear the upset in her voice and it just broke you. you sighed and walked to her and sat down next to her, it was just big enough to fit the two of you.
you stroked her cheek softly and nodded “i don’t think so baby, i’m so sorry” you just watched as she nodded, she wasn’t sulking but you could tell she was really upset. “do you think we could call him maybe? maybe he’s stuck in a jam” you knew what she meant, a traffic jam was a common excuse that you had used for Eddie not turning up.
“of course we can” you got up and walked to the phone which was by the tv and dialled Eddie’s number. the phone rang but of course there was no answer and you watched as she got up from the sofa a frown on her face. she walked to you and held out her hand so she could take the phone as she heard the voicemail beep meaning she could leave a message.
“daddy. are you coming to my party, i miss you” with no response she placed the phone back down on the holder and you kneeled down. she grabbed your hand tightly “it’s okay sweet girl, we will sort it i promise. come on everyone’s waiting for you” you kissed her cheek and stood up so the two of you could walk to the kitchen.
it was evident that she was sad as she listened to everyone sing happy birthday to her and when she blew out her candles, she wished that her dad would turn to her party and surprise her. but her wish unfortunately never came true.
-
it had been a week since Penny’s birthday party and you hadn’t heard from Eddie at all, he never returned the voice message Penny left and you couldn’t help but cry once Penny was in bed and everyone except Steve and Robin had left. you couldn’t get that sad look on her face out of your mind.
today Steve was round and had decided he was going to take you and Penny out to the mall for some shopping and some ice cream, he had promised Penny last week when she was sat on his lap crying into his neck that Eddie didn’t turn up.
it was four o’clock and all three of you were finally ready to go to the mall, Steve and Penny were in her room finishing up a puzzle they had started that morning. it was an easy one but Steve had acted like he didn’t understand it which made Penny explain it in what he described as the most perfect explanation he had ever heard.
you were putting on your shoes and waiting for them to finish up when a knock at your door pulled you out of your thoughts. you opened the door and was shocked to see Eddie standing there with a gift in his hands. “hey y/n, where is everyone. the party started an hour ago” he tried to brush past you but your hand stopped him from coming in.
“the party you’re talking about was last week Eddie, you knew that” you were furious, he’d turned up a week late. “no it’s not it’s today” you shook your head. “it wasn’t Eddie and if you answered your phone you would know that it was last week. did you not listen to the voicemail Penny left you?”
he shook his head and ran a hand through his hair “look i thought it was this weekend, it’s only a week why does it matter. i’ve come to spend the day with her” you scoffed and shook you head again, it was almost laughable.
“you’re joking with me right? you think that you can just turn up here a week late and act like that’s not okay? it was one day where i had begged you to come and you couldn’t even make the effort to show up. she’s devastated Eddie, you promised her” you almost shouted but you didn’t want to alert Penny and Steve that Eddie was here, you wanted him to leave.
“she’s busy today, like i said she doesn’t fit around your schedule anymore” Eddie rolled his eyes “i’m her dad, you can’t just stop me from seeing her” you looked him up and down, you hadn’t even realised how terrible he looked. pale, lifeless.
“you are no father Eddie, you stopped being her dad the minute your band got fame. you have no idea what it’s like to see her get hurt over and over again when you decide to not show up. maybe it’s because you’re with one of your groupies or maybe you’re too busy that day getting high with your friends i don’t care, i asked for one day. one day where you’d prove me wrong and you couldn’t even make the effort to see her on her birthday”
you just felt sad, he was nothing like the Eddie you had fallen in love with all those years ago but now when you see him you just feel angry, hurt and disgusted. “i’m sorry okay? i’ve come here to see her and i’d like to if you’d let me. i am her dad y/n and we can’t change that”
you head heavy footsteps walking down the stairs and footsteps approaching the door. you turned your head as you heard Penny laugh loudly at something Steve had said to her making Eddies focus change from you to her. she was in Steve’s arms hugging him exactly like she used to hug him and that hurt.
it took Steve a minute but he finally noticed Eddie standing there with a small gift in his hands. “oh shit” he whispered, his smile falling as he noticed yours and his hurt expression on your faces, both for completely different reasons. “hi Penny” she looked at the voice and saw Eddie standing there.
he had a small smile on his face as he took in her features. big brown eyes, curly hair which was exactly like his and lips, it was all him except for the small button nose she had obviously gotten from you. she looked at him with no expression, still hurt from what happened last weekend.
she turned away from him and dug her face into Steve’s neck. he took that as an indication that she didn’t want to see him so he walked away to the living room. Eddies smile dropped as he watched her and Steve walk away.
“he can’t just walk away with her, i wanted to see her. im her dad y/n, you can’t just take her away from me” he wasn’t angry, he was hurt that she’d turned away from him like that. “she doesn't see you as a dad anymore Eddie because you're never here” it hurt to tell him that but it was the truth.
his breathing stuttered as he heard that. yes he hadn’t been the perfect dad but he loved that little girl even if he didn’t show it. his eyes filled with tears, he wanted to say more, he wanted to stand there and fight but he didn’t want to cry in front of you so all he did was nod and hand the gift over to you. he bowed his head “i’m gonna uhh, try and change. i’m sorry y/n i really am” with that he walked away.
“i hope so Eddie” you whispered as you watched him walk to his car. you really did hope so.

being loved by eddie munson was a great honor. he treated yn like the princess she knew she had always been! yn didn’t exactly have a good track record when it came to dating. all the guys she’s ever been with had broken her heart.
she wanted—needed—someone different! for a little while she just stopped searching. she thought, ‘im still young!’ she had plenty of time to find someone to love her unconditionally. thats when she met eddie munson!
it had been her twentieth birthday. she invited many people to come and attend, not really caring who showed up. she just ended things with her boyfriend after finding out he cheated on her and all she wanted to do was crawl in a hole forever. her mother convinced her to keep her original plan and try and forget about john. she took her advice and faked smiled and laughed all night. yn tried to have a good time, ultimately she was just tired and wanted to go home. she managed to sneak out of the building her party was being held and got some fresh air. that’s where she saw eddie.
eddie was too old for this scene. he didn’t want to come to begin with, but dustin kept going on and on about how his girlfriend, suzie loved this yn girl and wanted to get her autograph for her birthday coming up. he didn’t want to go alone and knew steve wouldn’t be able to get in without some kind of connection. eddie agreed to take him, get the autograph, and get the fuck out of there. eddie ended up getting stuck there when people noticed him. it was a good thing he also got steve to come along! dustin got his autograph, and steve ended up taking the brat home while eddie signed a few autographs of his own.
now he was outside enjoying a cigarette, away from the noise and the few fans in the front of the building outside. when he spots yn, he gives her a small smile. she returns it, at least attempt to.
“not enjoying your party, sweetheart?”
she shakes her head and looks down.
“let me guess, heartbroken, huh?”
she turns to look at him surprised. “how’d you know?”
eddie chuckles “im an old man, i know the face of heartbreak when i see it.”
this time, for the first time of the night, she genuinely laughs.
“who’s ass are we kicking?”
yn snorts. “his name is john. first guy i said i love you to.” and first guy she’s ever had sex with. but eddie didn’t need to know that.
“mind telling me what happened there?”
she shrugs her shoulders as he pats a space for her to sit. she walks over to eddie and sits right beside him as he continues to smoke his cigarette.
“he cheated on me with the girl he told me not to worry about.”
“dickhead!”
she hums.
“i know im still young. i have my whole life ahead of me, you know? but i always wanted to have a family early on in life. get married, have kids, live a normal suburban lifestyle. it sounds crazy, i know—”
“i don’t think that’s crazy! you’re financially stable and from what i hear smart as shit and talented. i think as long as you got all the means to start a family, why wait?”
yn looks at him and smiles. “my mama and papa met each other when they were fifteen and got married when they turned eighteen. had five kids and stopped for awhile until they had me. they’ve been together ever since. their love is what i want. something pure and beautiful.”
“i feel that. i didn’t have that kind of life growing up! just had my uncle wayne. that old geezer kept his dating life private for awhile. i didn’t think the man dated. turns out he had been seeing this woman for about eight years before introducing me to her. even asked my permission to marry her. wanted my approval and everything. i told the old man it was about damn time!” eddie shakes his head at his uncle.
“he sounds like he really valued you.”
“he’s my dad! i value him just as much. took me in when i needed someone.”
yn didn’t understand, and neither did eddie, but the two opened up to each other all night. it felt great to talk to someone. they ended up exchanging numbers and texting from then on.
Tumblr media
a year goes by, they haven’t ran into each other anymore after that. yn invites him to her twenty-first birthday. when he turns up her heart skipped a beat. he was even more beautiful than she remembered. yn and eddie ended up sneaking off again and talking.
eddie couldn’t take his eyes off of her every time she spoke. something about this girl was mesmerizing to him. eddie wasn’t the type to date anyone younger than him, especially not over ten years! but this girl, she was fucking breathtaking. she was smart, beautiful, kind, just the most intelligent woman he’s ever known. yn noticed him staring and blushed.
“am i rambling too much? sometimes i don’t know when to shut up.” she states.
“naw, you’re perfect.”
yn gives him a smile. she loves how honest is. yn wasn’t the type to go after older men either. she stayed in her age range. eddie just does something to her she’s never felt before.
“i wanna kiss you, yn. may i kiss you?”
yn heart starts beating out of her chest. she couldn’t believe that he wanted to kiss her! she thought he just wanted to keep things platonic given the age gap. she slowly nods her head as he gently caresses her cheek and puts his lips against hers. the kiss was the most magical one either of them had. yn felt like her body was on fire. eddie felt like he was on cloud nine. they continued to kiss before eddie pulls away for air and rest his forehead against hers.
“may i take you out? next friday at eight if you’re not busy?”
yn thought about her schedule before humming in advance once she realized she was free. eddie kisses her once more before getting up. when he left the party was already dying down. yn got into her own car, leaving everyone else to continue to party. she had enjoyed herself already.
when friday night came she was a nervous wreck! she had a closet full of clothes and claimed to have nothing to wear. her sisters had come over and tried to help calm her down.
“why are you so jittery for? even in the past you’ve never felt this nervous for a date.” briella states.
“and when are you gonna tell us who this mystery guy is? even mom doesn’t know and you tell her everything!” kimberly adds as she looks through yn closet. she was the second youngest sibling, she most likely looking through to steal something of hers.
yn plops down on the bed as she sighs. “he’s—i don’t wanna jinx it but, he’s an amazing guy! cute and funny. he’s a musician as well. has his own band. we’ve been texting for about a year and i just—i don’t know but my heart putters whenever i get a text from him or when he calls me. god, he’s so sweet. just last night he sent me flowers! i never felt this way before. not even with john. it’s crazy, i know, but im already falling for him and i can see a future with him.”
all three of yn sisters look at one another and smirks. they’ve never seen her talk about anyone like that before.
“you’re totally smitten! wait until the boys hear about this.” jasmin smiles.
“do not tell seth or andy about this! they’ll never let me leave the house again.” yn groans at the thought of her brothers being over protective of her. she’s the baby after all! all her siblings had a soft spot for her due to their parents having her when they were a bit older.
“get up, come on! this outfit would look amazing on you. i think you should wear this. you’d look wonderful.” yn looks herself in the mirror and smiles.
“may you do my makeup bri?”
“you know i will! now let’s get you ready for this date before mom and dad come home and scare the poor kid to death.”
once yn was ready, her sisters kissed her goodbye before she waits patiently for eddie to come pick her up. she was home alone tonight. her parents out at some award show to promote her dads upcoming movie. when she heard the doorbell ring she got up, sighing before opening the door. eddie looked amazing. he was wearing a black metallica t-shirt, black jeans, a chain hanging on them, with his signature blue jean jacket.
yn had on a red dress that goes down to her knees. eddie thought she looked wonderful.
“you’re so beautiful.”
yn smiles. eddie hands her flowers. she takes them as she stands on the tip of her toes and kisses his cheek.
“you didn’t have to get me more.”
eddie shrugs. “i like giving the prettiest girl the prettiest flowers.” yn laughs. she gently closes the door as eddie takes her hand and leads her to his car.
“where are we headed?”
eddie smirks. “surprise, baby.”
hearing him call her baby made her heart flutter more than it already was. once they got to their destination yn was surprised to see that the place was empty. normally this particular restaurant was packed, filled with many celebrities or politicians. it was very hard to get a reservation. unless you’re eddie munson from corroded coffin.
“how’d you shut this place down?”
“i have my ways. come on.” eddie grabs her hand and walks into the restaurant. they greet eddie before eddie hears a familiar voice.
“hi, meathead!”
eddie rolls his eyes playfully. “hey, red! thanks for doing this by the way. i owe you one.”
“technically you owe me over ten grand, but since you’re basically my dad, ill give you a pass,” max states.
“max, this is yn. yn, this is max. i remember how you said loved max cooking and always wanted to meet her. thought, i know her, might as well take you to go see red!”
“i can’t believe you know max! hi, i love your food! my mom and dad buys from you almost every time we don’t feel like cooking. i even got all your cookbooks! im a huge fan!”
“thanks, means a lot! but i wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for meatball here. he encouraged me to pursue my dream of opening my own restaurant.”
yn looks at eddie for clarification and he smirks at her. “she’s the best damn cook from hawkins! even at the age on fourteen! she deserved to have her own restaurant.”
“now i have them all over the world thanks to mom and dad.” max states, referring to steve and eddie.
“what’s on the menu tonight red?!”
max goes to seat yn and eddie. she tells them about the dishes she’s been trying out for the last few weeks. the two try many dishes as they sipped wine and talked about everything. they got along so well and the food was amazing. once the night ended, eddie took her home, walked her to her front door, and kissed her goodnight. it was one of the best nights either of them had.
the two kept seeing each other. yn still keeping him a secret. she knew her family would freak out about the age difference. but she was falling head over heels for eddie and didn’t want anything or anyone to mess it up. she wanted to enjoy as much time as she could before spilling the beans to her family.
Tumblr media
after six months of late night talking and many many dates, things began getting more intimate between the two. they went from small little make out sessions to heavy petting. yn was ready for that step, she was completely ready for eddie to take it to the next level.
eddie was beyond ready! he was only just a man after all. and the woman that he was seeing was beautiful, inside and out. eddie wanted to worship her body until the sunrises. he just didn’t wanna rush her into anything. he now knew that she had only had one partner in her life, her ex boyfriend john.
eddie didn’t want to pressure her into having a sexual relationship. “baby?” eddie hums as yn grinds against him while they kiss one another heavily and passionately in his bedroom.
“hmm?”
“maybe we should stop?” eddie states as yn sighs and gets off of him. she pouts a little before getting out of bed.
eddie frowns as he watches her pace in his bedroom.
“do you not find me sexually appealing?”
eddie frowns. “what?”
“eddie, we’ve been seeing each other for half a year now and all we’ve ever done was make out. which is amazing! i love kissing you. but when things get a little bit more, intimate you push me away. so what is it? am i not attractive enough? is it the age gap? what’s going on?”
eddie stands and gently grabs her hands. “baby, no! god, no! i think you’re the sexiest woman ever. i just—i don’t wanna rush you into doing anything, you know? im not trynna be like your ex boyfriend and force you into a sexual relationship. i want my girl to feel good and loved and special like she is. i don’t wanna be a shitty ass boyfriend, is all.”
yn smiles.
eddie looks at her confused.
“what?”
“you called yourself my boyfriend.”
they never really discussed that. eddie was older than yn. he felt childish asking her to be his girlfriend. he just knew her as such and that’s that! he didn’t feel the need to ask. maybe he should have though considering her age.
“yeah, i just assumed—”
yn cuts him off by kissing him passionately. “okay, boyfriend! im glad you told me how you feel. thank you for being considerate of my emotions. but eddie, if i wasn’t ready i would have stopped you at any point. yes, john was an asshole who peer pressured me into sleeping with him when i wasn’t ready, but i know you’re not like that, eds! so please, for the sake of my sexual frustration, make love to me!”
eddie smirks. he begins kissing yn passionately. he gently lies her on the bed and kisses her neck. eddie was too goddamn old to be giving hickeys. but he wanted to mark his girl up, let the world know that she was his. yn moans softly. eddie smirks as he lifts up and takes his shirt off before grinding against his girl.
yn had only had one partner in her life. and normally john would get himself off and leave her a horny, frustrated mess! she had to get herself off each and every time.
with eddie, he made sure the women he’d been with came at least once before cumming himself. never leaving a woman unsatisfied.
“my poor baby’s been feeling neglected, huh? im sorry.” eddie whispers in her ear. he tugs on her shirt before she lifts up and he pulls it off and throws it across the room somewhere.
eddie starts to kiss her chest. she was still wearing a bra. he unclasp it before groaning. yn nipples already harden.
“fuck, you’re so fucking sexy baby. can’t wait to claim your body.”
yn didn’t know words could be such a turn on. she was basically soaked underneath her clothed pussy.
“please, eddie!”
eddie smirks as he takes her right nipple into his mouth while he plays with the left and visa versa. eddie unbuttons her jeans and gently yanks them off.
“no panties? wanted me that bad, huh?”
yn nods as eddie chuckles. he gets off the bed, pushing her body on the edge, and gently rubs his fingers between her cunt.
“fuck! already wet for me, huh? what does my pretty princess need, huh?”
“just—touch me eddie.” eddie could tell she was shy. but he wasn’t having it! he wanted her to be vocal, let him know what pleases her so he can make her cum over and over again.
“gotta tell me what you want baby, else i can’t help you.” eddie states cockily.
“want—please need your mouth.” she whispers. eddie barely heard what she said.
“my what, baby?”
“want your mouth, eds! please?!”
eddie blows against her cunt before he gently licks between her legs once. he smirks as she wines before he devours her, as if he was a starved man.
yn grabs ahold of his hair. eddie hums against her clit and she nearly cums right then and there. no one has ever eaten her out before. this was very new to her and she didn’t understand why she’d never asked before. it felt so fucking amazing.
maybe it was just eddie! she didn’t know but she felt like she was floating. eddie continued to eat her out. he could tell she was close by how tightly she started gripping his hair. when she finally came, eddie smirks as he lifts himself up and kisses her passionately.
“you okay, baby? need a break?”
she shakes her head before grabbing him and kissing him once more. “please, fuck me?!”
eddie groans. he felt like a teenager again with the way he rushed to rid his pants and boxers. yn looks down and smirks. eddie was a good size. he was very thick and long! she was almost scared.
“see something you like, baby?”
yn hums. “want you inside me already, eds!”
“anything for me girl.” eddie gently taps his cock against her clit. she hums before he slowly pushes inside of her. they both groan.
eddie was stretching her in ways she’d never been stretched before. eddie stills, letting his girlfriend adjust to his size before she taps him on the back and he begins fucking her deeply.
“holy, fuck! pussy feels so good baby. gripping me tightly, yeah?” he moans out.
yn hands roam eddie’s body. she felt like she could feel him in her guts, rearranging her insides. it felt like nothing she had ever felt before. “fuck, eds! please?”
“what do you want, huh? what does my pretty girl need, huh?”
“harder, please?” eddie grunts before giving his girl exactly what she needed. her pussy was gripping him tightly, so fucking tightly he could cum.
“shit! this pussy feels so good, baby! best ive ever had, swear!” eddie said honestly. this made yn moan even louder.
eddie kisses her passionately and sloppily. yn was so close she could feel it in the tip of her toes.
eddie rubs his fingers against her clit. “gonna cum for me baby? show me how fucking good im making you feel?”
“mhm! so close ed. please don’t stop.”
“trust me babe, won’t stop until you cum all over my cock, yeah?”
a few more thrust later yn came with a loud moan. eddie was close behind. “where you want it babe?”
“on the pill, need it inside, please?”
eddie grunts at that before spilling his seed inside of her. the two ride out their high before eddie collapsed against her.
“fuck! that was amazing, love.”
yn hums in agreement. eddie lifts up a little, gently grabs her face, and kisses her passionately.
“i love you, yn.”
it was the first time he uttered the words. yn heart began to beat uncontrollably. “i love you too, eddie.” the couple falls asleep cuddled up to one another.
Tumblr media
two months later yn had met eddies son. he was a four year old adorable little thing and she instantly fell in love with him.
her heart continued to break when eddie told her the story about his biological mom and why she wasn’t around.
“she chose parties, sex, and drugs over our kid. she died three years ago in a car accident. she was high and in the wrong lane. trucker hit her car and that was it.” every time she thought about it her heart broke for eddie and for little oliver.
yn realized that she should probably tell her family about eddie. especially because it was almost a year of their relationship and eddie had asked her to move in.
she was a nervous wreck whenever it was the day for them to meet. eddie was a bit nervous too. he hid it well though.
he loved yn and planned on spending the rest of his life with her. she meant everything to him. oliver had also grew to love her! he knew the age difference was a huge deal to most, but he wasn’t gonna let that break them.
“you sure you wanna meet my family? we could just run away. you, me, and ollie.” yn wraps her arms behind eddie’s neck.
eddie chuckles. “baby, we gotta do this some time. it’ll be fine! we’re a family now, yeah? the three of us will go in there as a family.”
yn sighs.
“please don’t be late, okay?”
eddie gently kisses her. “promise! ollie and i will be there eight sharp.”
“i love you eds! you and ollie.”
“we love you too. see you tonight.”
when the night came yn was pacing. she was very nervous. especially with her dad and brothers! she knew right away they wouldn’t approve. eddie was the same age as her brother, andy. yn knew this would end in a lot of questions and maybe even yelling.
yn just hoped her mom and sisters would keep the peace between everyone.
“why are you so nervous for us to meet him, baby! im sure he’ll be fantastic. and you know i won’t allow your dad or brothers grill him too much.”
yn gives her mom a small smile before she hears the doorbell ringing. she tries to rush and open the door first but seth beats her to it.
“may i help you?” seth asked.
“hi, im eddie. this is the right place yeah? the yln home?”
“eds!”
“yn!” oliver runs out of his dads grasp and into hers. yn picks him up and kisses his cheek gently.
“missed you.” he whispers into her shoulder.
“i missed you too ollie! why don’t you go ahead in that room right over there. left some toys for you to play with.”
oliver nods before walking into the direction yn pointed at. eddie walks over to her and kisses her cheek.
“hi, beautiful. missed you.”
she smiles as she stands on the tip of her toes and kisses him gently. completely forgetting her brother standing there. seth clears his throat before the two of them turned to look at him.
“dinners probably ready. we should go.” seth kept his thoughts to himself. not wanting to say anything just yet until the whole family was gathered together. yn ends up getting ollie as everyone gathered around the table for dinner.
it was an awkward silence. she could tell all eyes were on her and eddie. she didn’t exactly know what anyone was thinking. heart breaking in the process of the silence.
“how exactly old are you, eddie?”
“im thirty-five, sir.” eddie states as he clears his throat
“so, how’d someone your age meet our daughter?” yn father asked.
eddie clears his throat. “met on her twentieth birthday party.”
“and what exactly where you doing at a young lady’s birthday party?” seth glares at the older gentleman.
“his friends girlfriend is a fan. he wanted an autograph so eddie took him to the party. we met outside the venue and hit it off.” yn speaks for him.
“yn, are you outta your goddamn mind?!” out of everyone yn never suspected that jasmin would be the one to yell at her.
yn clears her throat.
“jas!” yn mother scolds.
“mom, she’s dating someone fourteen years older than her. you can’t seriously tell us that you’re okay with this?!”
“your sister is an adult! she can make adult decisions.”
andy scoffs. “she’s barely an adult mom! she’s only twenty one. he’s my age ma.”
“and? your sister is happy! she can make her own decisions. you all need to stop babying her. she can date whoever she wants.”
“i love your daughter and sister. i didn’t go out seeking for someone young. i fell in love with her because she’s smart, beautiful, and talented! she treats my son like her own and for that, she has my whole entire heart. none of you have to like me or be okay with us, but it won’t stop me from one day getting on one knee and asking her to spend the rest of our lives together. she’s my everything. she’s a sunflower in my eyes! a ray of sunshine. im not asking for your approval. im just telling you how it is. we’re a family and i hope that you all will be apart of that family. if not, so be it.” eddie states. yn grabs his hand under the table as she sheds a tear.
“i love you, eds.”
“i like him! moms right. yn is an adult. she knows what she’s doing! if she’s happy so am i.” kimberly shrugs her shoulders.
yn father gets out of his seat and walks towards eddie. “i still don’t approve. i think you’re too old for our child! but anyone tough enough to say how he feels like in front of anyone’s child, i say is a man in love. just take care of my daughter!”
eddie nods his head. “with my whole heart.”
yn dad hums as he sits back down in his seat. dinner finished up with no one leaving in bruises. for yn, that’s a win!
“ill see you tomorrow, yeah?”
yn hums as she kisses eddie goodbye and kisses the top of olivers head. once they were gone yn turns. she had a huge smile on her face as she heads upstairs to her room.
“think he’s the one?” yn mother asked her husband as they watch their daughter leave.
“yeah, i recognize that smile from a mile away.” yn father states as he holds on to his wife. watching as another one of their babies slowly start to leave the nest.

Gone Fishing: And Baby Makes Three…
this was originally a request from my dear friend Katie (but tumblr ate it, so it no longer exists) and it spiraled into a short little mini series (tagged on my masterlist). just sweet little blurbs when i get a request or the mood strikes.
original prompt: eddie tells wayne he’s going to be a grandpa.
warnings/tags: r is pregnant; mentions of pregnancy and related symptoms; dad!eddie munson x afab!fem!reader. (2k words)
-
Eddie had come home from work one day and found you sitting in the kitchen with Steve and Nancy’s newest little one. A wrinkly faced newborn with Steve’s dark head of hair and Nancy’s eyes. And when Steve had handed that baby to Eddie, your eyes had softened in a way he’d never seen before.
He supposed it shouldn’t have come as a surprise when later that night you'd asked him if he wanted to try for one of your own. And it wasn’t like he’d been opposed to the idea—he’d married you with the intention of starting a family some day.
In all honesty, the trying to get pregnant part…well, that had been fun. He’d just anticipated a little bit of time between deciding to start trying and getting pregnant. But two months later, you’d come home from the doctor with a photo in hand of his affectionately named “little gummy bear.”
It hadn’t looked like much at the time. A tiny little blob with wriggly limbs, if he was being honest with himself. But you’d cried when you held the grainy picture in front of him, and he’d cried too, holding you on his lap at the kitchen table.
Soon enough, another month passed and you were far enough along you felt comfortable enough to tell those around you your exciting news. Naturally, you suggested the two of you tell Wayne first. It felt right to do so, you told him, and he’d agreed.
You were glowing and beautiful, like Nancy had mentioned people said happened during pregnancy one day over dinner, but not your fullest self. Most mornings Eddie felt the bed dip as the sun rose in the sky, and joined you with a hand to comfort in any way possible when you rushed to the bathroom. Whether it was a warm palm sliding up and down your back or the chill of his skin on your clammy cheek, he’d wanted to be there in whatever capacity you’d allow. He’d carry your struggles on his back if he was able to. You were doing all the work, after all. And he was grateful for it—grateful for you.
The evening you were meant to tell Wayne over dinner, you’d been sick since the morning—all day, really, and it pained him to see you like that. He watched you washing dishes in the kitchen while Wayne settled down in the living room with a freshly opened beer, feeling his heart double in size when your eyes lifted and met his.
You’d always been beautiful, but there was something different about you lately. Nancy said that the “glow” people often spoke of was from the endless hormones raging through your body. Some of which he’d become well-acquainted with these few weeks, because they made your emotions vary between happy and sad in a split second—often to his own detriment.
But he really thought they’d gotten it all wrong; he thought that the glow came from the way you were so in love, it manifested on the outside with no more space to contain itself. And if it made him pathetic to admit how in love with you he was, especially so as of late, he’d happily own up to it.
“Are you feeling okay?” He asked, moving over to where you stood with your hips flush against the countertop, your head bent a little low as you scrubbed idly at a dirty plate. His fingers curled along the side of your cheek, turning your face so your eyes would meet his. His thumb tapped at your chin, your lips tugging upward weakly. “There you are. Why don’t you go lay down, hmm? I’ll take care of the rest of the dishes.”
“Eddie.” You placed the dish down in a drying rack and huffed out a slow breath.
“You were up at three in the morning—” He chuckled when you opened your mouth to protest and nudged your cheek with his nose, brushing a kiss there. “I’ll take care of it.”
“I still want you to tell Wayne. I think it’ll be nice for you two to share that memory,” you admitted softly, leaning into his shoulder, one arm wrapping loosely around his waist.
“Have I told you lately how much I love you?”
You wrinkled your nose, grinning. “Only every day.”
He dropped his ringed fingers down to your sweater, sliding over your midsection, seeking the comfort of your warmth. You sighed against his neck, head tucking against his throat, and he murmured, “Please let me take care of the kitchen? I’ll feel ten times better if you go get some rest.”
It took a little bit more convincing, and a brush of lips against your brow with a muttered reassurance he’d take care of everything, before you retreated to your bedroom and closed the door behind you. Eddie worked in quick silence to finish up where you’d left off, calling over his shoulder to his Uncle that he’d just be a minute.
His Uncle leans back with a great sigh, hand waving unhurriedly in the air. “No rush, boy.”
And once he’d finished scrubbing the remnants of dinner off the final plate to tuck it away in the drying rack, he flounced over to the kitchen table where you’d wrapped a gift for his Uncle. He double checked the little card tucked in between sheets of tissue paper, pushed it to the front of the bag, and snatched the handles in his hand.
A crooked, lopsided smile crosses Wayne’s face that matches the one Eddie wore, eyes widening in curiosity at the gift dangling in his nephew’s hand. “It’s not my birthday, y’know,” he said, placing his beer down on the coffee table. Eddie leaned back on the couch beside him, nerves bubbling to life at what lay within. Wayne’s smile dropped, concern lining his features as he asked, “Is the little missy not feelin’ okay?”
Eddie sighed heavily. “Yeah, she’d been up this morning sick. I told her to go lay down,” he admitted, thumbing at his ring finger, twirling the yellow gold wedding band around and around in his nervousness. “Open the card first.”
“What are you doin’? More jittery than normal,” he chided, but slid his finger beneath the edge of the envelope all the same, opening the lip to reveal a Hallmark card. On the front was a golden trophy, with a banner stretched across reading ‘The World’s Greatest Pop Pop.’ His head turned to Eddie, the creases around his mouth deepening as he swallowed thickly and opened the card. The older man rubbed a hand over his mouth, throat clearing as his eyes reread the words on the card over and over again. “My boy. Are you tellin’ me I’m gonna be a grandpa? The Mrs. Munson is havin’ a baby?” At Eddie’s slow nod, Wayne barked out a disbelieving but excited laugh, pulling his nephew into a rough hug.
Eddie swallowed the knot forming in his throat. Exhaled deeply to keep the tears at bay. He’d been doing that a lot since finding out you were expecting; blubbered when you told him you were pregnant, then once more when he’d accompanied you for the next doctor’s appointment and saw the little thing for himself, and then once more when he’d heard the heartbeat for the first time.
“Finish opening your gift before you start getting all sappy and shit,” he teased, choking on his own emotions. Wayne slid out the grainy photo from the last ultrasound, thumb running along the tiny outline of the little one. Eddie grinned, leaning over to trail a finger along the form. “That’s from an earlier appointment. I can show you what they look like now. Less…alien-gummy bear hybrid, more…actual baby. With fingernails, the doctor said. Thought that was pretty cool.”
Wayne huffed out a watery laugh and fished out the pieces of tissue paper within the package. His mouth worked silently over the emotions riling in his gut as he lifted a hat within his palm and glanced at the words etched across the front. There at the top, was a fish with a reel swirling around in a loop, poised at its opened mouth. Then, in blocky lettering below, read ‘Reel Cool Pop Pop.’
When Wayne leaned back, his teary eyes scanned Eddie’s face, frown setting further into the wrinkle lines crowding his lips. “What’s wrong, boy? I can tell somethin’ is goin’ ‘round in that head of yours.” He knocked his weathered knuckles lightly against Eddie’s temple; Eddie nudged his head away, lips quirking with a smile despite himself. “C’mon now. Your brow’s wrinklin’ like your momma’s did when she used to worry.”
“I’m happy. Shit– I’m so excited, but I…” He paused, pressing the heels of his palms to his eyes. “I’m, ah, in a few months I’m gonna be a dad and I don’t know why, but the universe thinks I’m ready for that.”
“Listen, I know what you’re thinkin’. But I’m gonna tell you right now that you are not your old man. You’re a good man, Ed. Gave me hell for a few years, but I know you’re ready,” he said, lowering his head to where Eddie’s palms slid down his face, an exhausted sigh falling through the gaps between his fingers. “Got a good head on your shoulders and a big heart. Been a good husband to your wife, and I know you’ll make a fine dad. I’m proud of you. So very proud of you, son.”
Later that evening, when Eddie entered your shared bedroom with joy in his heart and excitement bubbling in his blood, you shifted up onto your elbow. You peered over at him with a wide grin across your pretty features. Asked, “What’s making you smile like that?”
Eddie’s grin widened, hand splaying over his heart like a love struck fool as he practically threw himself onto the bed, singing, “You're havin' my baby what a lovely way of sayin' how much you love me.”
The sleeves of your too-long sweater covered your face, body rolling away from him, mortified. “Edddds, no. Please no Paul Anka song again.”
His nose pressed into your cheek as his chin hooked over your shoulder. Lips smacked a loud kiss against your cheek, an amused chuckle spilling from his lips. “What? I’m a man madly in love with his wife. What’s wrong with that?”
Nothing. Nothing at all, so you shifted closer to him, back aligning with his chest as his arms wound tight around your waist. You let out a contented hum as his palm drifted along the waistband of your jeans and beneath the hem of your sweater, lingering over the secret growing beneath your heart. “I love you, too,” you whispered, hand affectionately grazing over the back of his. “Was Wayne happy?”
“Over the moon. Said he thinks it’s a boy.”
And seven months later, he’d be right.
Wayne entered that hospital with balloons in one hand and a teddy bear in another. His weathered face drew tight as he ducked into the room you’d been moved into to rest and recover, hand waving in greeting to where Eddie sat at your bedside with his newborn son cradled in the crook of his elbow. An infant boy with dark hair like his and the eyes of the woman he loved. Eddie leaned down to press a kiss to your temple, pride at what you’d done to bring your son into the world still glowing bright in his chest, and waved his uncle over. Watched as Wayne placed the gifts down onto the small couch pressed against the corner wall and drifted nearer to your bedside.
Eddie’s lips quirked into a bright smile as his uncle glanced down at the little blue bundle in his arms, before glancing up. “Congratulations, you two.”
Eddie glanced your way briefly to capture your glowing smile—to take in the way your eyes had never once left your son’s since his arrival on this side of earth, and then lifted to his uncle’s, your voice tired as you asked, “Wanna hold your grandson?”
“Yeah,” he said hoarsely, breaking off to clear his throat and inhale deeply. Eddie swapped places, climbing up from the makeshift rocking chair to allow Wayne to sit, before he leaned down and brushed a kiss against the baby’s head. Once his uncle situated himself, Eddie lowered the infant into his arms. “What did you two end up namin’ him?”
Your eyes flickered briefly to Eddie’s, head bobbing with a nod. Eddie brushed his thumb along his son’s cheek and said proudly, “James Aragorn Munson.”
James shifted in his grandfather’s arms. His head moved to seek out the shelter of his warmth—to seek out the love he’d already known in his short span of time in the outside world.
“Welcome, James.” Wayne moved his rough palm to the back of the baby’s head and shifted him on his lap so he lay stretched out before him. The older man admired those tired eyes that blearily gazed up at him with a tenderness that knocked the wind out of Eddie. James’ mouth opened in a little grunt, eyes closing once more in contentment, unknowing that he’d already stolen the hearts of the three watching him with rapt attention. “I’m your Pop Pop. We’ve been waitin’ for you.”

Pt. 2
Love of my life masterlist
⭑・゚゚・*:༅。.。༅:*゚:*:✼✿ ✿✼:*゚:༅。.。༅:*・゚゚・⭑
"Eddie no no no no- baby please stay with me-" y/n cried as she held her dying boyfriend in her arms. "Why did you have to come back?" You cried. He coughed a bit and leaned Into your touch "I didn't run this time y/n.. I did the right thing. I didn't run.. I always run.. I'm so tired of running.." you cried and held him "you should have run Eddie. I can't lose you. N-not now.." you sobbed. "I need you. We need you." You managed to get out. He put on a very weak smile "w-we??" He managed to ask "yes we.. I wanted to tell you this under better circumstances but... Eddie I'm pregnant.  You're gonna be a dad. Which is why I need you to stay with me baby. Just alittle bit longer. Help is coming.' You cried and placed a kiss on his forhead.
He coughed a bit, blood slowly slipping from the corners of his lips. " I'm gonna be a dad?.." he asked weakly, tears in his eyes" yeah, you're gonna be a dad
" you cried out "so I need you to stay with me for just alittle bit longer.  I'm gonna get you out of here, and we're gonna get you fixed up. A-and we're gonna get our own place, so we can raise her together." You cried softly qnd rubbed his cheek gently. " her? No way, it's gonna be a boy" he chuckled very weakly before coughing.  "Y-y/n?" He asked "yes my love?" You answered." I-im so cold." You sobbed softly "no Eddie. You're not gonna leave me. Not now. You can't." You cried "stay with me."
"I love you ya know that right?" He said reaching up and brushing some hair out of his face." Yeah I know baby, I love you too. So much" he smiled the best he could "i-i wanna marry you someday. Here. " he slipped off one of his rings and places it in your hands "hold onto this. Because when I get better, I'm gonna get you a real ring. But this is just for now. Be mine forever y/n. Promise me." He said , softer and weaker with each work. "I promise eddie." You held him in your arms "I love you so much. " you said crying softly. " I see Dustin, and Steve. They're gonna help us get you out of- Eddie? Eddie!" You sobbed as you noticed his pale, blank expression. " Eddie baby! Please no!" You sobbed , pulling him closer to you.
Dustin and Steve paused in their tracks when they saw Eddie laying lifeless in your arms. The sight of you crying and screaming broke their hearts. But they knew it wasn't safe and they had to bring you back. They ran over,Steve trying to help you up" y/n we don't have much time, we need to go. Now" you sobbed "no I can't! I can't just leave him here!" You said in between sobs. Dustin teared up at the sight.
" y/n we need to go now." Dustin said grabbing your hand comfortingly" he's gone y/n.. we need to go." He said trying to keep himself from crying.
Everything moved in what seemed like slow motion as they pulled you back to the real world. You held the ring tightly in your hands, breathing heavily as you looked around his trailer.
*flashback*
" Eddie set me down!" You squealed as he picked you up, carrying you to his bed, laying you down and hovering over you" I love you y/n." That was the first time you heard those words come out of his mouth. "I love you too Eddie munson." You said pulling him in for a kiss.
*end of flashback*
You looked to the hallway leading to his room, tears streaming down your face." He was gonna be a dad.." Dustin and Steve looked shocked as they heard the words come out of your mouth." He would have been an amazing dad.. he always talked about having kids.. " Dustin hugged you. You hugged back, sobbing Into his arm." I-i can't do this alone. I can't do it without him Dustin. I'm scared.." you sobbed
Dustin tried his best to stay strong for you." Y/n you're not alone. He may be gone, but you have us. You can stay with me and my mom if you need, she loves you. She won't mind at all." He said, calming you.
You nodded a bit. Steve and you used to date before he dated Nancy, but after everything, it wasn't right. He was your best friend, and seeing you like this broke his heart.
"Come here." He said opening his arms. You went over and wrapped your arms around him, sobbing Into his chest "h-hes gone.. he's really gone .." you sobbed.
He was gone. He was really gone.

Summary: Eddie being sleep deprived because his three month-old baby won't go down for a nap.
A quick little blurb that's been bothering me since last night so I just had to jot it down. More of Eddie and Penny here.
Tumblr media
“C’mon, sweet pea. You’re killin me.”
Eddie sighed, placing his three month-old on her back, alongside him on the bed.
Just as she had the last seven times he’d tried to lay her down, his baby began grunting, straining herself as she attempted to sit up on her own, neck muscles working overtime. She wouldn’t be able to sit up, of course. Still smaller than his forearm, Penny was much too little, nor did she have that kind of control over her body, but still she tried, wrinkly fingers curling into fists, face darkening as she trembled and her upper half tensed.
She could hurt herself, though. So once more, Eddie sighed, carefully lifting her up and settling her on his upper torso, her little head bobbing clumsily in the crook of his neck as she continued to grunt and squeak.
Penny wasn’t supposed to be awake, she was fighting sleep and doing so fiercely. Twenty-seven minutes past her nap time and she was trying to stare at the world around her in wonder rather than rest as she should so she wouldn’t be up through the night and keeping the two of you up. But this was now Penny’s world. And they were just living in it and caring for her, completely at her mercy.
He’d set the sleepmosphere; turned off the lights, closed his blinds, and was playing a lullaby that came from the giant baby monitor that stayed above her crib. Plus, his little baby had a plump tummy full of breastmilk and no gas to upset her. Eddie had rocked her until she got quiet, but everytime he so much as peaked around to see if her big brown eyes were open, they were. Wide open and flickering to everything in the room, little mouth parted in awe. She even had the audacity to struggle against his hand, cradling the back of her soft and dainty head.
Penny was getting stronger and stronger every day.
“Okay, why don’t we make a deal? You go to sleep right now, and I’ll convince your mom to up the ounces of your bottles and distract her with conversation when she’s breastfeeding you. Look at that, you’d get more food and more rest. It’s a win-win because then you wouldn’t be screeching at daddy in the middle of the night while he’s sleep deprived and warming up a bottle for you.”
And when he felt his baby’s bobble head whack into the side of his neck, “That’s unnecessary. I made you a fair offer with no cons on your part—violence is not the answer.”
He waited a beat, eyes staring at the wall as he became overly aware of the bags under his eyes, the exhaustion that had settled over him that he’d since learned to run on. Eddie had reached the manic state already, now it was just acceptance.
Penny let out a particularly protesting squeak, loud and demanding as she seemed to finally run out of strength, face rubbing into his collar bone until she could replenish it and lift her head again.
“Fine. You win. Just know, when I’m old and senile and you’ll have to change my diapers, I will be returning the favor.”

missing eddie and roan rn🥲
can we get something were roan brings home flowers she picked during recess for reader🫶
Eddie and Roan —Eddie’s daughter brings you a bouquet when you’re sick. (step)mom!reader
Roan skips up the path to the house with a big smile. “Dad, come on!” she demands.
Eddie’s trying to carry three paper bags of groceries and close the trunk at the same time. He is not receptive to criticism at this present moment. “Shut up, babe.”
“You shut up!”
“You first.” He drops the keys by accident. “Ro, can you come and grab these for me? Thank you.”
She races to grab the keys and then back to the door. “Dad, COME ON!”
“You’re being super rude and irate right now but I forgive you,” Eddie says, yanking the door open to let her inside, “because I know you’re hangry.”
“Not hangry!” she denies, bursting into the hallway and kicking her shoes so hard against the shoe rack that the top layer of your work shoes topple onto the floor. “Mom!” she shouts, one word lined heavily with joy even now. She’s been calling you mom for months and it doesn’t get any less exciting for her, clearly. “Y/N! Y/N, I got you something! Where are you?”
“I’m in bed!” you call, sounding excited yourself, if a little confused. “What did you get me?”
Eddie wasn’t aware of any gifts. He puts the groceries on the counter in the kitchen and follows his charge up the stairs, curious and not wanting to put stuff away anyhow. Roan tumbles into the master bedroom still wearing her red vinyl coat, door slamming into the wall, you wincing in bed.
Eddie winces too. “Ro,” he says desperately, “come on, bub, she’s in bed rest, remember? So we’re being careful about loud noises. I told you twice today already.”
“Sorry! I just want to see you,” she says, straight to your side and arms up expecting to be helped.
You pull her into your lap. “I’m sick of resting anyways.”
Eddie intercepts Roan’s hug to lean down over you and give you a gentle kiss, of which you are extremely receptive. He gets butterflies thinking about you to this day, and having you raise your chin to receive him intensifies them by half, then whole as your lips do finally touch.
“Okay day?” he asks.
“Really quiet,” you say, tugging Roan up into your chest before she can get jealous.
“Head?” he asks.
“Fine. Barely a headache anymore.”
Eddie bites his lip. Not too long ago you were in a hospital bed practically catatonic. He cannot afford to be uncareful with you. You’re too much to him.
“Promise?” he asks.
You’re distracted from answering by small hands on your face. “Mommy, I was talking to you first.”
“Sorry, baby, yes you were.” You sink further down. “Can you ever forgive me?”
Roan could forgive you for almost anything. She wiggles where she’s sitting on your stomach, hands clumsy at the bottom of her coats zipper, her chest rising and falling after her sprint up the stairs. Eddie and Roan are still both cold enough to have it emanating from their coats, but you don’t care, you just want your after school cuddle.
Eddie peels out of his coat at the same time, takes his shoes off with some self-chastisement (mud upstairs is awful and rude of him and he’ll spend the evening trying to rub it out of the rug because you really like the rug and he likes you), and sits on the bed by your feet.
“Oh, what have you got?” you ask warmly.
Eddie bends his head to watch her pull flowers from her overall pocket, one small stem at a time. Daisies and buttercups with petals smaller than her fingernails. They keep coming, ten then twenty, maybe thirty flowers on your chest. The stems are broken, but they’re all more alive than anyone could have hoped for considering they’d been sandwiched in her pocket for hours.
“These are for me?” you ask.
“All for you. Except this one for dad,” she says, picking up one of the bigger daisies. “And maybe this one for me.” She grabs a buttercup for herself.
“Aw, thanks baby. These are gonna make me better, huh?”
She looks like him when she smiles. Cheesy, cute, she arranges the flowers in a bouquet in her hand and presents it to you grandly. “I picked them at school behind the wooden house. Do you like ‘em?”
“I love them,” you pronounce, just as grand but not half as loud.
“I love you.”
“You cheesball,” Eddie says, rolling his eyes.
“Ignore him.” You touch her cheek with a fondness that makes his jaw ache thinking about the love behind it. “I love you too.”
“And you’ll be better soon,” Roan says.
Eddie can answer that one. He holds your ankle through the sheets, and gives your calf a quick stroke. “She’s gonna be a hundred percent any day now, bug. Better be extra gentle with her to help her along.”
Roan rubs her bouquet of flowers softly under your chin. “I’m gentle,” she whispers.
You rake your fingers through her hair, a half centimetre a second, fingertips drawing down between her shoulders. Such a mom thing to do, Roan dissolves like sugar paper in the rain.
Eddie smiles. “Alright, I’m jealous.”

It’s very possible someone could have done this already, but I’ll say it anyways, what if modern!eddie saw on tik tok the trend where the boyfriend puts his hands under their gfs baby bump and they’ll lift and it takes pressure off them, and I can’t help but think about Eddie doing this with reader 👀
Ooooo he would be so excited like a little kid on Christmas.
You’d walk into your home and he would be waiting there with the phone already set up on a tripod.
“What the hell is that?” Today you did not want to be filmed. Your hair is a mess with make up not done, your back was killing you and your feet are so swollen from being seven months pregnant You just want to lie down and take a nap.
“ I have a surprise for you baby” he would have the biggest smile on his face as he walked over to kiss you hello.
“What’s with the phone?” You were use to Eddie filming your shared life for his tiktok following, but today you were not in the mood.
“Trust me?” He pouts as he slinks behind you.
“Baby what are yo- ohhhhhhh god” you sigh in relief as Eddie hooks his fingers together under your lower belly and lifts up to relive the weight of your unborn child.
“Holy shit baby this is so heavy. No wonder you’re always complaining.” He struggles a bit to hold his stance but he eventually fords his balance. You give him a dirty look but he kisses your cheek in apology.
“Never let go” you lean into him and rest your head on his chest. It felt so nice. Your body felt ten times lighter with the support of Eddie under your baby bump.
“You’re my goddamn superwoman you know that?” Eddie whispered in your ear.
“Thank you.” You start to sniffle. He was always so caring so affectionate but now with the baby on the way it’s doubled.
“Ok baby. I gotta let go my arms are killing me” he giggles uncomfortably.
“Nooooooo please a little bit longer, this is the fist time I feel like I haven’t had to pee in months.” You pout.
“Okay baby, but only because it’s you.” He kisses your cheek and follows you around the house so you feel like you can do normal tasks again.

Being Weird Is Cool Masterlist
(Single!Dad Eddie Munson x Single!Mom Reader)
Summary: When your late aunt leaves you her house in Hawkins you see it as a chance at fresh start and move there with your son. You didn’t expect to meet a caring metal head with kind eyes and his spitfire daughter. You didn’t expect to fall in love. You didn’t expect to find a family.
Warnings: Becoming a family, Single parenthood, A dead family member, Readers son has a speech delay, Reader is implied to be alternative and have tattoos but no other descriptions given besides her clothes, other than that it’s just tooth rotting self indulgent fluff.
A/N: This is just going to be a series of ficlets/blurbs, I’m going to do my best to post them in timeline order but I’m really just writing them as I think of events that would be significant to their story. Also if anyone has thoughts/requests about these four my requests are open. ✨

Eddie hated being around people.
Not just people. But people he knew and went to school with - the ones that called him a freak.
Although, Eddie had found you and he was the first one out of anyone - when he finally put his mind to it and graduated - to get married.
So, everyone who made fun of him, suck it!
“Hun, can you get his duffel bag out, please?” You slip out of the car, opening the back door. Sometimes he missed his van - the one you despised and desperately told him to trade in for this mini van - but then he realizes how much it actually came in handy.
You hold Chance’s hand when he hops out of the car, kneeling down and tying his shoes. Whenever Eddie would tie them, he would immediately walk away and find you, wordlessly holding his foot out - Eddie never got them tight enough. They would always untie in the middle of the game.
“You’re gonna do so good, baby! I just know it.” You switch to tie the other shoe. Eddie circles around the car after locking it, placing a hand on Chance’s head.
“Absolutely. He’s a Munson.” He smirks down at the boy. It took a little time for Eddie to realize that being a part of the Munson Bloodline wasn’t all bad like people had made him believe.
Sometimes they would lose - but in the long run, they somehow always win in the end.
His win - you and Chance.
There’s a whistle that had been directed towards the small group of you, Chance, and himself. It caused Eddie to look up quickly. It wasn’t the type of whistle to catch someone’s attention that you had been friends with for a while - no - it was a whistle little boys did when they seen a woman they thought was pretty.
“Oh, my bad.” The smirk was familiar and made Eddie’s blood run hot.
Jason Carver.
Divorced three times and had two kids (They both are the same age - you can be sure what had happened there and why they both are the same age) . He's married again, but she’s at the car getting the chairs out and small cooler with capri-sun’s for the little tots and beer for Jason.
It wasn’t allowed, but it was Jason Carver, and sometimes someone’s privilege was so blindingly noticeable.
You peek up at Eddie, watching as his jaw clenches. “Eds,” You say. “Eddie,” He finally looks down at you. You shake your head. “He’s not worth it. Don’t waste your breath.”
He can distinctly hear Julia - his new wife who was most likely about to hit him with divorce papers - complain as she shoves the chairs into his arms. His eyes peek up, watching as they both walk away. He only nods, looking back down at you.
“Breathe, Eds.”
And suddenly, he could breathe again. There was a shudder to the first breath he took - but it felt nice. Rather than holding it in anger until he passed out.
You give him a small smile before fixing Chance’s green shirt. You press a quick kiss to his forehead, standing and holding a hand out for him. He immediately slips his hand into yours, following you towards the field.
Eddie glances around, scratching at his neck when he passes a group of people who peaked in high school - better known as the basketball and football team.
There were a couple of them that were fine - not as rude. And he was sure that the whispers he heard wasn’t about him in particular, but there’s some side of him that feels as if the hushed conversation was about him - or worse, his little mini me.
Chance had been quiet. He doesn’t know why or if it will ever change - a part of him hopes it does because he wants to hear his tiny voice. But if it never changed, Eddie would still love him either way.
And if anyone - including a kid - said anything about it, he’s not afraid to go to jail after knocking out some teeth and lose his job over it.
He drops the duffel bag, kneeling down in front of Chance. “Remember what I told you?” He tilts his head. “This is supposed to be fun, just remember that.”
Chance smiles and nods. He looked grown - the tooth that he had lost making a slow comeback.
“Now, go get them, Champ.” He stands, clapping as he runs to meet the rest of his team.
You peek over at him, smiling softly with a fluttering heart and pink cheeks. He peeks over at you, pushing his sleeves up to his elbows and crossing his arms over his chest, lifting a brow at you.
“What? Why are you looking at me like that?” He chuckles a bit nervously. He still gets a bit nervous when you stare at him like you’re falling in love all over again - which you are, even more than before.
Of course, Eddie’s had relationships - even situationships - and even if they didn’t last that long, he always felt confident in the relationship, never boyish and giggly to where he could swing his feet like a school girl.
But with you, he feels shy, excited, nervous, and loved.
You shrug, slipping your arms around his, resting your chin on his bicep. “I just think you’re so handsome.”
He flushes and suddenly feels hot in the cool air. “Even with this scuff.”
“Especially with the scuff,” You grin. “And I thought I wouldn’t like your haircut, but I do.”
“I’m glad,” He nods, leaning over and pressing one, two, three pecks against your forehead. “It was just getting in the way when I would roll the windows down to smoke,” His scruff tickles against your forehead. “Especially when I would forget or loose the rubber band.”
You nod a bit and lift up, pressing a kiss to his cheek. “I’m going to go get the mini cooler out of the car.”
“I can do that.”
“No, I got it. Stay here and make sure no one gets our spot.”
He smirks. “Yeah, because you’ll end up feeling bad for someone and move.”
You roll your eyes and pat his bottom before walking off. He smiles and turns back, watching as they Hawkins and the other team - Defenders - give high-fives before the game starts.
“So, Munson,” He feels someone brush up against his side, his nails dig into his skin that was covered by his black sweatshirt. “How’s the married life?”
“You mean the same married life I’ve been in for 5 years now?” Eddie rocks on his heels. He doesn’t know if that would help, but he’s hoping it does so he doesn’t cause a scene in front of all the kids and parents who already judge him enough even if he’s not that same, hyperactive person anymore.
“It’s wonderful. How about your third wife? Or… is it the fourth?” He wonders out loud. Jason chuckles, blue eyes turning to stare daggers into the side of his face. “Or do you already have the fourth one picked out?”
“You’re such a-”
“Hi, Mr. Carver,” You cut the conversation short. You didn’t like Jason at all, but it’s better to kill him with kindness than to egg him on with words. “Seems like James and Aj are getting the hang of soccer.”
He watches as you bend at the waist, Eddie moving slightly to cover where ever his eyes might land, pinky circling into the belt loop of your jeans.
Jason rolls his eyes at that, clearing his throat. “Yeah. Learned from the best,” He nods. “What about Chance? Since… Eddie’s gone most of the time.”
“Dustin, Lucas, or Steve comes and practices with him. Jonathan does sometimes as well, and Robin,” You shrug. “He has a bunch of people who help him.”
“I bet it gets lonely sometimes.” Eddie’s ears ring when he hears the words and the whistle blow.
“What?”
“You know… When Eddie’s gone. How many days is he gone?”
You lift a brow, eyes staying on Chance’s jersey. “I don’t see how that’s any of your business.” You step closer when you feel Eddie’s finger tug on the belt loop of your jeans.
“Well… I could keep you company sometime, you know,” He tilts his head. “It’s not okay for Chance to have a father that disappears a couple of days and then pops back up for a day.” There’s a pause. You both were going to ignore him.
Jason is the type of guy who wouldn’t back out of an argument until there’s a physical altercation between him and whoever falls into his trap. Eddie knows this because it’s happened before.
Jason wouldn’t stop pestering him - and the next day after seeing his father on the news for a physical altercation, breaking-an-entering, DUI, and Drug Holding, it only made it worse.
“Looks like you might actually have something to look forward too - seeing your Daddy behind bars when you get locked up with him.”
He can’t remember when his fist went flying and when it broke Jason’s nose, but after that, Jason would say something’s and Eddie would retaliate with words.
Jason would back down because he remembered the pain that the rings had caused and the cracking noise he had heard.
But now, he didn’t seem to remember what that felt like - and maybe he needed to be reminded.
“Maybe that’s why he’s a bit slow.” Especially now when he said those words. Jason Carver officially sealed his fate.
“What did you just say?” Eddie turns to him.
“Oh, I didn’t mean that in a bad way,” Jason shrugs. But he did. “Just… you know, he doesn’t talk. He’s not that smart with his-”
“You don't want to finish that sentence, Carver,” Eddie grits out. There’s a hot flash that keeps going down his whole body, the feeling of breaking that nose again, ruining the nose job he had to have because of his rings. “You remember what happened before. I’d hate to ruin the nose job you had to have in 10th grade. Then you’d have to spend another thousand just to get it busted again.”
Jason’s brows shoot up, a small teasing smirk on his face. He notices some parents’ eyes looking at them. Eddie’s voice had raised a smidge and he didn’t even notice.
“Is that a threat, Munson?”
“Try promise, Carver,” His eyes narrow at him. “You peaked in high school and can’t let it go. You even work there.”
Jason’s jaw clenches at that. “I didn’t-”
“You did,” Eddie cuts him off. There’s a small smirk that tugs at the corner of his lips knowing he’s got under his skin now. “You just don’t want to admit it. And it’s honestly sad. So, what you’re going to do right now is turn around, walk away from my wife, and stop talking about my son. Because it won’t be pretty if you don’t.”
“Eddie.” Your hand grips his arm. He looks at you and shakes his head before looking at Jason.
Jason clicks his tongue, darting his eyes out at the field as he nods a bit. You look between the two. “Alright… I’ll let you win this one,” He hums, hands on his hips. “Because at least my kid isn’t a freak.”
Eddie flinches at the word, fist clenching at the usage and who it was shot at. He wouldn’t have minded if it was meant towards himself, but his kid? One who couldn’t even defend himself?
His hands land on his chest, pushing him away. Jason stumbles on his Nike’s. “Carver, I mean it. Walk away before you say something you’ll regret. I’m so close to beating you into the ground.”
Jason stares at him and he believes him. Eddie’s staring at him with eyes that were dark, his hands balled into fists at his side - so tight that his knuckles were white.
Jason’s eyes glances over at you. And just because he needs to get in the last words so his ego isn’t hurt and knocked down a couple of steps, “Call me if you ever get lonely, babygirl.” His lips pucker and smack together before he gives Eddie one last grin, turning around.
Eddie almost swings at the back of his head to knock him off guard, his arm raising. You grab his arm, pulling it down quickly. “Not worth it,” You say, hand resting between his shoulder blades. “He’s not worth going to jail, Eds.”
Eddie watches as he makes his way towards Julia, plopping down into his fold out chair. He grabs the can, taking a gulp and wiping at the corner of his mouth where some had slipped. His blue eyes turn and meet Eddie’s, a small smile that curls at his lips.
“Just one punch?”
“No,” You turn him towards you. “He’s just trying to get a raise out of you and it’s working - don’t let him win this time like he always does.”
Eddie glances around, eyes meeting with some of the parents that quickly look away. His eyes then connect with yours and suddenly he feels his inside soften and his face slowly release its tension, the lines disappearing from his face.
“I’m sorry.” He whispers.
You shake your head, giving him a small smile. “Don’t apologize. It’s not your fault.”
He opens his mouth but is cut off by the whistle, eyes cutting over to the field. He sees number 8 sitting on the ground, his heart dropping.
His mind was wondering else where and his son is hurt.
He’s walking out onto the field before his mind even registers what his feet are doing and kneeling down. Chance had tears rolling down his cheeks, his small hands covering his knee.
“Hey, Champ,” His heart breaks at the sight of his watery eyes when they quickly dart up at him before looking back down at his hands. He flinches when he feels your hand on his back, rubbing up and down. “Can mommy and I take a look?” He whispers.
He feels a bit claustrophobic when he feels the two coaches looming over his shoulders along with the small kids staring at him.
Chance nods slightly, removing his hands from his knee. Eddie’s hand reaches out and holds his leg, looking at the scratches. “Looks like you just need a quick wipe and bandaid.”
Chance sniffs and slowly stands, bending his leg.
“You wanna wait til we get home? I accidentally forgot the first aid at home.” The little boy nods, sniffling again.
Eddie reaches up and wipes away his tears softly. “You’re so brave. I’m proud of you.”
This causes Chance to smile, cheeks lifting a bit. Eddie gives him a swift peck to the top of his head before standing. “Go get ‘em.” Chance nods quickly.
Eddie grabs your hand, walking off the field and standing on the sidelines again. You lean your head on his shoulder.
“Eds?” He hums a bit. “I love you.”
He smiles a bit, nodding. “I love you.”
Eddie plops down on the bed, rubbing at his face. Chance’s knee was taken care of, a fresh shower, some nuggets, then he was out like a light when his little head hit the pillow.
Eddie feels like he could pass out when his own head hits the pillow, but there’s a feeling that keeps tugging at his chest.
He doesn’t know if it’s anger, sadness, or confusion.
anger because he couldn’t put Jason Carver into place like he absolutely wanted to. Anger because he missed half of Chance’s game because of him.
Sadness because Chance has to deal with people already laughing at him - it’s much worse when a grown up does it.
Confusion because he doesn’t know what he did in wrong his life to deserve what people say about him and his family.
Eddie always felt like he was nice enough - not judging others and including them in a conversation when he felt as if they weren’t being heard or he noticed the look on their face when they felt left out of the conversation.
And there’s a constant nagging in his mind that he always hears in his subconscious.
You’re not cut out to be a father - you’re going to go downhill soon.
And the worse part about it, he actually believes he’s going to go down hill. His father once was a nice man, caring. Then Wayne said when his mom got sick, he turned bitter and mean.
And the worse part about that was she got sick when she was pregnant with Eddie. So that bitterness was because of Eddie.
Edward Munson - the person who caused people to feel bitter when he showed his face. The person who only seemed to give people bad luck when he showed up.
Sarah, his mother who was a soft person with kind words, should’ve saved herself. Not him. She should be here. Then maybe his dad would’ve been okay.
Everyone would’ve been okay.
“Babe?” He blinks, glancing at you. He didn’t realize that you had finished getting ready for bed and had snuggled under the covers. He hums slightly. You frown, lifting your hand and wiping at the tears that he didn’t realize had fallen.
“What’s wrong? What’s going on in your mind?” Your thumb traces over his cheekbone. You pay attention to the scar he has nearing his eye. He shakes his head a bit, lip quivering.
He’s afraid that if he talks, it will cause him to sob, then if he sobs, he’ll wake up Chance. He’s already had a rough day today and he needed his sleep.
You frown and move closer to him, pressing a kiss next to his eye, they flutter closer. “Whatever you’re thinking, it isn’t true,” You whisper. “I know you and I know that you’re very hard on yourself - and you shouldn’t be. You know why?”
He turns his head to stare at you, shaking his head a bit.
Your hand splays out against his cheek. “Because you, Eddie, are the absolute best person I know with the biggest heart. And I’m so proud of how far you’ve come and achieved.”
He smiles, although it’s a bit shaky. “What did I do to deserve you?”
You shrug, nudging your nose against his softly. “Just being the absolute best version of you.”

"hey, what's got you up so early?" Eddie's manager Steph said leaning against the kitchen side as she drank her coffee. it was 8am and she was surprised to see him up this early. let alone up, dressed and ready to leave the house. he used to wake up every afternoon with a different groupie leading them to the front door where he promised to call them which he obviously never did.
but Steph hadn't been at his house, which he shared with Gareth, since Eddie went to your house to see Penny. she had absolutely no idea what he was doing for himself, for his daughter, for you. he hadn't even slept with anyone since he spoke to you.
"i've got to go see my daughter" it had been almost two months since Penny's party and he had been bettering himself for her. he would turn up practically every weekend to take her out and do something she'd like. sometimes he'd even come round on the wrong days just to spend time with her, it made Penny's face light up when he actually showed up when he said he would and it was beautiful to see.
"no, you can't go today we have that party later and we all want you there" Steph shouted as she watched him slip on his shoes and grab his keys off the side. he stopped and turned to her, Eddie was very easily influenced but he knew if he didn't turn up that his girl would be stopped from seeing him and he couldn't handle that.
"i'm sorry Steph but right now my kid is the only thing i care about, enjoy the party" with that he walked out the front door leaving her stunned. Eddie Munson never ever turned down a party.
the last time Eddie went to a party was the day of his daughters birthday, he knew it was horrible of him and he honestly hated himself for doing that but he had stopped partying, he had stopped drinking and doing drugs which had shocked everyone. his friends, his family, the press and he was proud of the person he was becoming.
after the situation which happened a week after Penny's birthday he went to Wayne and was shouted at by him for hours. Wayne was furious that he even have the audacity to show his face after what he had done to his daughter and after he told Eddie that he was ashamed of the person he had become, he changed up real fast.
he went home that night and listened to the voicemail Penny had left him 'daddy. are you coming to my party, i miss you' it had broke him. he listened to the voicemail over and over again which made him sob for hours. his girl wanted to see him and he failed, he failed her. after hearing her say that she missed him, he knew that he could become a better person and he did.
it had surprised you to see Eddie standing there a week later, dressed casually and he explained to you that he was trying his best and you appreciated that. yes it took a little bit of time before Penny opened up to him again but he was grateful that you had given him the chance to see her, to tell her how sorry he was.
he didn't want to be known as the dad that didn't care because he did. he was grateful that Corroded Coffin had gotten the recognition they deserved, but he wishes some days that they hadn't so none of this would have happened.
he wished that things would go back to how they were when you were all a family, you made time for each other, loved and cared for each other and he was highly at fault. he wasn't showing you or Penny love, care or affection and it was his fault your relationship broke down. that's one of his biggest regrets.
the knock on your front door pulled you out of your thoughts. it was early, 8:32am to be exact, and the only person that you knew was coming round was Eddie. but that wasn't meant to be until later, Penny wasn't even awake yet.
you opened the door and saw Eddie standing there with a small, anxious smile on his face. "i know it's early but i thought it would be nice if we all spent the day together. we could let Penny pick, only if you want to. if you're busy i can come back later when i was meant to-" you shook your head and smiled.
"i think that's a lovely idea" you moved to the side so he could come in. Eddie let you and Penny stay in the house when the two of you broke up, he had some sort of a brain and you were grateful you did stay there. it was filled with beautiful memories and you would hate it if you did have to leave.
"she's not awake yet but she should be soon, she's gonna be really happy to see you" you smiled, Penny couldn't really remember what it was like when Eddie was here but all she wanted was for Eddie to come home so you could be a family again. she wanted to see her dad every day, she wanted him to be here with you and her.
Eddie sat down on the sofa and you sat next to him, keeping a bit of distance. "look i need to talk to you, it’s easier to do it now because she’s not awake" this made your smile drop and anxiety fill your body, he took a deep breath, obviously thinking about how he was going to say whatever he was thinking.
"i'm really sorry for everything i've done these past couple of years. i've been an awful person and i've hurt you both and i'm really grateful you're giving me a second chance to be Penny's dad" he grabbed ahold of your hands and looked into your eyes.
it was like every time you looked into them you were mesmerised, his eyes were one of your favourite things about him and you were happy when you saw Penny had the exact same eyes he did.
"i'm sorry i left and i'm sorry for not being there for you, i'm sorry for not being there for Penny and i hope you know that i have changed and i am never leaving her again. i was honestly the biggest asshole and there is nothing i regret more than how i treated you both, especially you. you've done it all on your own and you've raised her so well. you are an incredible mum" you smiled again, grateful that he was taking accountability for his actions, you were also grateful for the small praise he had said.
getting told you were a good mum always put your mind at ease. there was always the thought of you not doing it correctly but parenting didn't come with a book. you had to figure it out on your own and to get reassurance just made you feel like you were doing it your best and apparently, according to Eddie, you were an incredible mum which you were and he meant every word.
"thank you for saying that ed's" Eddie's cheeks flushed at the nickname, he loved you. he really really loved you and his biggest regret was leaving you for the band. he wished he treated you differently, he wished he could go back in time and talk things out with you and listen to what you had to say, he wished he showed you both the love and affection you deserved but he didn't and he hated himself.
he was brought up by Wayne who had told him to respect women and when he left he knew he was wrong. but he was easily manipulated into doing things even if he didn't want to like the partying, the groupies, the drinking, the drugs and when you do them a few times you get hooked and he couldn't stop.
he done them to be well liked, he done them to fit in with a crowd of people he hated, and now he had finally stopped doing them he felt like himself again. he felt like a person and he could actually hold a conversation without itching for the alcohol or the drugs.
"she's really sweet y/n and thank you for giving me a second chance to be her dad. i can’t describe how much it means to me" you squeezed his hands as a sign or reassurance. the both of you turned to the look at the stairs when you heard Penny was finally awake and walking down them, rubbing her eyes as she tried to wake herself up.
"morning sweetheart" you said as she walked into the living room, she yawned and looked to see both you and Eddie sat next to each other. "daddy" she squealed, she was definitely awake now. she ran to him and jumped into his lap making you pull your hands away so the two of them could hug.
"what are you doing here" she said as she wrapped her arms around his neck. you watched the two of them and your heart melted, it was adorable. "well i missed you so so so much i couldn't stay away. so me, you and mama are spending the whole day together and you get to decide what we do" Eddie ran his hand up and down her back as she cuddle into him.
"really?" her eyes widened and excitement filled her small body. her mum and dad would be spending time with her for the first time in forever, literally. it had been years since you and Eddie had spent a whole day with Penny and honestly you were excited.
she picked up her head from his chest and saw him nod. "what did you want to do then honey?" you asked, there were two obvious places she would pick. either the beach or the zoo, Penny loved the beach but she also loved the zoo so you were sure she would pick one of those.
"please can we go to the zoo? i want to see the giraffes" they were her favourite animals which Eddie actually didn't know. "well, why don't i help you get ready, that means mama can get ready and we will be out the door quicker?" Eddie looked at you and then back at Penny who was smiling widely.
"you still remember how to bath her?" you joked which Eddie only nodded. he remembered but it had been years since he had been this sort of environment. "i'll run her bath, you just have to wash her and wash her hair" with that you left Penny and Eddie downstairs to run her a bath.
"you excited baby?" he pushed her hair out of her face and kissed her cheek, he missed moments like this. she nodded, her dimples showing as she smiled. Eddie was excited to spend the day with the both of you, he hoped that you could act like a family again.
-
"mama, daddy look there's a baby giraffe there" she squealed, Eddie was holding Penny who was pointing to the baby giraffe who had just come outside from the enclosure was with its mum, she was filled with excitement. "yeah honey, it's a baby giraffe. isn't it cute" you stood next to her and stroked her cheek.
"it's so cute" she said, her eyes never leaving the two animals. "what makes them your favourite animal angel?" Eddie turned his attention to look at Penny who was practically mesmerised with the giraffes.
"they are just so cute daddy. oh and mama told me they are friendly" as Eddie listened to Penny talk he realised how much he had actually missed, when he left you Penny could only say a few sentences and most of the time he would be speaking to himself but now he could hold an actual conversation with her.
"that's right. they are friendly" he had absolutely no idea if they were friendly or not but if it made Penny happy knowing they were friendly he'd go along with it. "do you want to go see any other animals Penny? or do you want to stay here for a bit longer" the three of you had been staring at the giraffes for at least thirty minutes.
"can we stay here just for a bit? i just want to look at the baby for a little longer" you looked at Eddie who nodded "yeah we can. but only for a little bit though, we have other animals to see remember" he tickled her tummy making her laugh loudly and fall back into him.
the three of you stood watching the small giraffe run around the huge open field for a few more minutes before you and Eddie heard someone speak to him. "i'm sorry to interrupt you man but my son is the biggest fan of Corroded Coffin, would you mind if he got a picture with you? i know you're with your family but this would mean the world to him"
the two of you turned around as the man spoke and you smiled at his son who looked like he was holding himself back from running to hug Eddie.  he looked no older than 7 with his dad stood next to him and looked mesmerised by Eddie actually being in his presence.
the father held a grey polaroid camera "of course, you don't mind do you?" Eddie turned to let you hold Penny whilst he took a photo. "not at all" you held Penny who was still looking at the giraffes running around the field whilst Eddie knelt down next to the small boy.
"what's your name bud?" you heard him say as he hugged the young fan. "Ozzy" he seemed shy but watching the interaction was adorable. "woah sick name. i assume you're named after Ozzy Osbourne who is my personal favourite"
you turned back to look at the open field and kissed Penny on the cheek, you could hear Eddie talking to Ozzy and his dad. Ozzy and his dad were thanking Eddie for taking the time out of his day to even acknowledge them, let alone have a conversation and take a few photos with them.
"thank you again Eddie, you're amazing" with a quick hug from Ozzy and a handshake from his dad the two of them left to allow Eddie to get back to the two of you.
"he was adorable" you said as Eddie stood next to you. he nodded agreeing, opening his arms so he could take Penny back "yeah he was" he held Penny in his arms and kissed her forehead a few times. she didn't even feel the affection because she was still infatuated with the giraffes.
-
after a long day at the zoo you and Eddie decided it would be best if you went back to yours for dinner which had happened to be one of the best dinners any of you had. it was just the three of you being together, spending time with each other as you ate and talked about anything that came up.
it was nearing Penny's bedtime, spending the whole day with Eddie had made you realise your feelings for him hadn’t gone away. before he left he was an amazing dad, even if he was tired from work he would make the effort to look after Penny whilst you were able to do a few things for yourself and now that he had finally realised what he’d been missing out on he was becoming that amazing dad again.
you hated when you would see the newspapers where Eddie and a random groupie would be on the front cover, white powder on his nose with his already pale skin looking even paler. he just didn’t look like your Eddie and at that point he wasn’t anymore and it broke your heart.
you missed when the two of you would put Penny to bed and would watch her sleep in comfortable silence, she always looked so peaceful when she slept and it was crazy to the two of you that you both created such a beautiful baby, she was utterly perfect.
the three of you were sat on the sofa, Penny asleep whilst laying on top of Eddie who had cuddled her since the minute the three of you got home. “it’s getting late, you want to help me get her ready for bed?” you looked down at Penny who was snoring softly.
he nodded and stood up carefully making sure his grip was tight so she wouldn’t fall. the two of you walked up the stairs, you behind Eddie looking at the sleepy girls drooling on his shoulder.
once the two of you were in her bedroom you picked out her pyjamas and got her dressed, careful to not wake her up out of the peaceful slumber she was in. once she was dressed you laid her down in her bed and pulled the covers over her, tucking her in and with a quick kiss on her forehead you moved out the way so Eddie could say goodnight to her.
this was the first time in three years Eddie had been here to tuck her in and say goodnight. he knelt down to look at her, her curls where all over her face so he gently pushed them back and kissed her cheek, she sighed peacefully and that felt like your queue to leave her to rest.
Eddie didn’t want to leave though, he wanted to stay with the two of you and never leave again but he knew it didn’t work like that. the two of you went downstairs and a comfortable silence filled the space. “so, i guess this is my time to leave” he joked, scratching the back of his back awkwardly.
“you can stay for a bit if you want. maybe it would be good for us to talk?” he looked at you to make sure you were 100% sure and that he was actually hearing you correctly. “i- uhh, are you sure? i can leave if you want” you laughed and shook your head.
“i think it would be good for us to talk” you turned to walk to the living room and sat down on the sofa, knees brought to your chest. you could hear his sock covered feet following you and he sat next to you quickly after.
“we haven’t really had a conversation and i think it’s good for me to tell you now” you were still madly in love with Eddie and spending the little time you had together had made you realise it, you were with him for five years before you broke up and your feelings don’t just vanish into thin air.
he was confused at first, what was there to talk about? “i know you left me and i understand why you did, it was hard for me to get it at first but i do understand. but i do want you to realise that just because you left doesn’t mean my feelings for you just went away” he looked at you feeling guilty about the past.
“i’m not gonna sit here and say what you did was okay because it wasn’t. you hurt me a lot and you hurt your daughter. you had time to go and sleep with whoever you wanted and do whatever you wanted and i had to be strong and look after Penny all by myself. it was hard to see you not make an effort for her and what made it even worse was every time i did see you it hurt me so much because you didn’t even look like yourself” you felt your chin quiver as tears filled your eyes and his eyes glossed over with tears of his own as he listened to you talk.
“i always wanted to help you, i always tried to reach out to help you but i couldn’t get through to you and it hurt me to see you doing the stuff you did and i would see your face everywhere and i was trying to i guess grieve our relationship and i couldn’t. i didn’t want that to be the end of us Eddie because my feelings for you never went away. they never left my body and that’s why it hurt”
you both had a few tears rolling down your cheeks “i need you to know that i do love you, i love you so much Eddie and i can’t help how i feel. i would dream about how we used to be and i missed it, i missed you and if you don’t love me that’s okay i’ll live, but please don’t leave Penny again just because i told you this. she needs you” you sniffled and looked down at your knees, cheeks blushing as you wiped your tears.
“you have no idea how long i’ve been waiting to hear you say that” you looked up at Eddie how’s eyes were bloodshot, tears rolling down his cheeks which a huge smile on his lips, his dimples showing. he moved closer to you and wrapped his arms around your shoulders, bringing you into him.
after three years of yearning for his love, his affection you finally felt his lips on yours. the kiss was filled with passion, filled with every ounce of love you had for each other.
“i love you so much” he said between a few small kisses you two shared. “i love you too” you spoke softly into the practically silent house. “i’m never leaving either of you ever again, i promise” he kissed you one more time, the two of you smiled into the kiss, it was like nothing had changed when you kissed each other.
in the space of a two months Eddie had changed for the better. he’d long forgotten the drugs, the alcohol, the groupies. god the words made him feel sick. he changed for you, changed for Penny and now the two of you could continue your life and expand your beautiful family.
