I still can't get over how Eliot and Hardison do their "secret" handshake- even though Eliot is miffed that Hardison ate his sandwhich.
I still can't get over how Parker calls Eliot "Sparky," and he's scared enough to rip open his apple- because he actually thinks Parker somehow got a razor blade in it.
I still can't get over how Eliot tells Hardison that he won't help him if he goes to far with "Ice Man," and when Hardison calls him out on it- Eliot blames Parker.
I still can't get over how Hardison comes to Eliot when he needs help brushing up on wine.
I still can't get over how Parker goes to Eliot when she's looking for something to love and he teaches her to love food.
I still can't get over how Parker is allowed to poke and push Eliot.
I still can't get over how Hardison riles Eliot up and it's just reflex for Eliot to say; "DAMNIT Hardison."
I can't get over how they became a little family all on their own.

Headcanon: in like a bunch of years, when Parker, Hardison and Eliot are all sooper old and senile, they get sent to a nursing home. Cuz let's be honest, senile Eliot, Hardison and Parker would be too much for poor Breanna to handle on her own. After a little while of being in the nursing home, they realize that the people running it are actually scamming the residents and the families of the residents out of tones of money, so they decided to run one last job and take down the evil nursing home people.
When Breanna finds out what happened she's angry because "damnit, now I have to move you guys to another nursing home, again." But she's secretly proud of them.
(They got kicked out of the last nursing home because they were causing too many issues and stealing too many cups of Jello.)

eliot’s many many requests to go camping as a vacation (the fresh air and time away from screens could do them all good) are finally honored and subsequently dashed to pieces when he gets out of the car after the three hour roadtrip to see that hardison has booked them…. a glamping tent. it’s easily the size of the briefing room at the brewpub. there’s two full size beds AND a freestanding bathtub in there.
hardison notes the absolute despair on his face as he passes him, duffel in arms. “listen, we’re still in nature, we still have the nitty gritty of the compost toilets and hauling firewood or whatever, but if we’re spending a weekend out here we’re doing it in style.”
parker takes one look at the big fire pit in the middle of the tent and starts rocking with excitement. “we could make so many smores on that.”
eliot, not easily defeated, starts up a steady stream of complaining that lasts deep into unpacking though secretly the big mattresses do feel really nice and cooking on the giant pit is very convenient and the bug netting makes existing in the woods in summer a hell of a lot easier. he misses hardison and parker’s satisfied high-five when they find him asleep in the bathtub later, book almost falling out of his hand.

I'm back with another Ford!reader I hope you don't mind.
I have a tag list growing, so if you like to be added to that for any future stories let me know!!
Takes place after Cooking Together
Tumblr media
The job my dad was trying to pull was relatively simple. Except for the fact that it took six people to pull off.
He didn't want to involve me, but when they were planning everything and going through that marks background, it became clear that they needed another chef in the kitchen with Eliot.
Sophie was the one who suggested I join the con, just this one. Dad was against it of course, but when Sophie reminded him that I could get closer to the chef then any one, he relented. He partnered me with Eliot, made me promise to listen to him if the job goes south.
The con was going relatively well. Until Hardison jinxed it and said that he was glad this was an easy one. As soon as the words came out of his mouth it all went to shit.
Eliot and I were in the kitchen, Parker was dressed as a waitress and lifted the mark keys while Sophie and Nate kept him distracted at the house party.
She brought back everything we'd need to get into his office. She was very put out that she had to stay at the party, but she unfortunately, had caught the marks eye, and if she left for any amount of time longer that her getting a fresh tray, the mark would notice.
We had to sneak from the kitchen, nearly getting caught twice by the guards while trying to get to the stairs.
The marks office was the next floor up, and near the stairs. We managed to get up there and in the office fine, got want we needed and were on our way out when Hardison opened his big mouth.
We got to the hall way at the bottom of the stairs and head towards the double glassdoors, only to find it was being watched by two rather big men.
"Damnit Hardison, there's guards on the door. How we supposed to get passed them?"
"Well think of something cause you need to get back to the kitchen."
Apparently, the sound of our voices we're just loud enough through the door that they caught the attention of the guard closest to us. Panic starts to bubble as he start to turn towards us.
I turn to Eliot, who is already gearing up for a fight, but we really don't need the attention that a fight would bring. With time running out I grab him by the back of his shirt and pull him in front of me.
"What are you doing?" He asks, trying to pull away to put himself between the guards and I.
"Taking a card out of Parker's book." I tighten my grip on his collar, press him into a closed door, and kiss him.
This was the first time we'd kissed since the night in my kitchen.
We get lost in the kiss, his hands on my hips, mine in his hair, and one of his legs pressed between mine, only the sound of a throat clearing breaks is out of it.
We turn and look at where the sound came from. The guard has annoyed look on his face as he looks at us.
"This area is off limits," he grumbles.
"Sorry, sir, just wanted a little privacy from the kitchen." Eliot plays it off.
" Shouldn't you be there now? Not snogging in a corner?"
"Snogging?" My dad's voice comes over the comms like he's on the verge of having a stroke.
"Yes, sir. As soon as we can put ourselves together again."
The man nods, then walks back to his post.
Eliot and I stand pressed against each other, trying to catch or breath. I watch one emotion after another pass over his face. His eyes show more then he probably wanted.
I take a breath to say something, but Parker's voice over the comms breaks the silence between us.
" You two done, cause I'm close to stabbing him."
" Yeah, on our way back." Eliot growls, as he separates us and heads towards the door.
I take a deep breath, and follow him back through the doors to the hall, passed the guards and back to the kitchen.
"Eliot, did you just kiss my daughter?"

I <3 the Scheherazade Job but the ending twist just makes me bang my head against a table. can you fucking imagine if they'd ended The Studio Job by saying that Nate had hypnotized Elliot into having perfect pitch. actually I take that back, in that case it would have been extremely funny
lmao yeah i was like:
Tumblr media
(excuse the handwriting, i drew it with my finger on my phone lol: it says "hypnotism")
hypnotism is a real thing and it can do a lot of weird-but-cool stuff, but like. when did nate learn how to hypnotize people perfectly? was hardison a straught up violin prodigy as a kid, to be able to draw on those old skills he apparently had? how lucky is it that hardison happened to be a violin player & a relatively easy target of hypnotism, and also just happen to be the person already in that role in the con? howeverrrr i love seeing hardison/aldis hodge getting to play the violin, it’s a genuinely beautiful piece and damn if im not having the same stunned, amazed reaction as the team. so i have to let the logic issues go lol.
i also love sophie talking about Scheherazade, technically probably the most famous grifter from literature. sophie’s youth sounds weird: she had a poster of DB Cooper on her bedroom walls growing up, and she idolises Scheherazade… she would’ve been like a geek but for grifting. love that for her.
eliot already gets mad about sophie’s neurolinguistic programming, nate might have to get more than a cockroach in his food if he hypnotised eliot in the studio job! either we’d get a hilariously very pissed off eliot moment ("damnit har- i mean, dammit sophie!" "huh? me? what did *i* do??" "nate didn’t teach HIMSELF that, did he!") or maybe some genuine anger/betrayal - i don’t think he wants people to know what’s in his mind & memories. and sophie seems to feel a bit guilty about helping to mess w hardison’s head. but hardison’s mind is probably a bit… uh… safer to poke around in than eliot’s, smart choice there nate!
thank you for talking to me about leverage btw, i love this show so much!! <33 always love to hear people’s thoughts about it & i love getting to talk about it!!

@citruos: how many fingers am i holding up ? (from hardison 💕)
Tumblr media
his answer is to swat at hardison's hand , showing little mercy save for what can be offered by his own weariness . and it is just a bit of tiredness after a tough fight . he's not concussed , damnit . sure , his eyes are a little unfocussed , and his head hurts like hell , but what do you expect when someone takes a 2x4 to your skull ?
" get your damn fingers outta my face , hardison . " and the hint of slur to his words is just tiredness , too , obviously .

So quick first thoughts on Leverage:Redemption S2 (first three episodes anyway)
Gosh, it’s still wonderful!
Joyous watching Harry become more and more part of the group, watching him take such delight in all the different roles he plays and he and Sophie - that lovely, respectful, relationship growing.
Parker is still a goddess. Love that she is certain Hardison is watching from every camera all the time (he probably is) and she just holds these conversations where she’s sure he’s listening. They’re still together when apart:
Eliot still doing that thing where he is a complete hard-ass bad tempered sod who will completely protect every lame duck he meets. The Tournament Job? Before he goes in he mocks and derides these gamers. As soon as he’s in - he will do anything to protect and help and support them.
Sophie is also still a goddess. Interesting to see some of her back story coming out.
I adore Breanna. And it’s wonderful to see her coming out from behind her computer more and more.
Not much of the OTP3 yet (although there’s still a damnit Hardison from Eliot every episode) but it’s only episode 3
And I love love LOVE that John Rogers and the rest of the writing team are still using this quirky entertainment show to highlight real issues and injustices and corruption. Many British fans cheered the lines about the Russians the British Govt protected in the first episode because we know that happened even if the Govt denied it.

Good morning/afternoon!
That stinks about your coworker having COVID. 🙁 I hope they feel better soon.
Oh gosh, I'm hard-pressed to pick a favorite character in Leverage. I love Elliot cause, well, he's Elliot!!!!! And Hardison love him and Parker. I like Sophie and Nate but it's those three that I just adore. Their dynamic and chemistry together is off the charts. I love Elliot’s “ Damnit, Hardison!!!”
Mom and I are watching the reboot. Leverage:Redemtion. Have you seen that yet. No Nate, he died and Hardison was in the first two but then his little sister takes over his job as a hacker. She's growing on me. Parker is still Parker and Sophievand Elliot are in it but Noah Wylie is the other one making up the team. Not sure I like him as much as Nate but we will see. Their base of operations is in New Orleans.
I have the clinic today till around noon then stuff that needs to be done. Getting my son ready to go with his dad. Still working with n my items for Gish. Its a bad week for it to be going on and everything else. Maybe next year ill take GISH week off. Hmmmm
How's today been? As hectic as you thought it was going to be?
-smutty-books
Hey you !
Thank you, me too - silly covid ugh
That trio are like my favourite characters ever in anything. If I had to pick one it would be Parker..she's just too amazing and what a character arc. I've been watching the new one too-- wish Hardison was in more but fingers crossed with season two! Sophie is the best and i just adore Elliot so much -- the scenes with Parker and Hardison are just the best and so sweet.
ahh, got it, always so busy. I hope it isn't too much today. Working tomorrow too?
It's been quite busy -- enough work to do all the time but i hope it settles ..nearly the weekend tho!!

"Good job taking out all those guards."
"Thanks, babe." *walks away*
"Wait- wait- who took out all the guards? Damnit, Hardison!" *looks at Parker* "You know that didn't happen."

An incomplete list of things I want from season 3 of leverage redemption:
More Parker running the cons! (Nate passed on the roll of mastermind to her for a reason, damnit!)
Eliot's hair beads and more floof please (#freethefloof2024)
Sterling!
On a similar note: Mr. Quinn, McSweeten, and Dr. Paul
Can Hardison please be in it more than he was the last two seasons! Please! I need my three soul bonded faves to be together again! (I understand why that might not be possible, but I want it🥺)
Let Eliot Spencer get more hugs!
Historical au episode centered around Eliot and Hardison. Someone suggested it be an old Western theme and now i can't stop thinking about it! (Sorry I don't remember who suggested it, but if you know, feel free to tag them or let me know so I can tag them)
A whole episode with just Eliot, Hardison, and Parker doing crime shenanigans and bonding/making up for lost time since Hardison was gone for so long.
Musical episodes!
I want Eliot to shoot a bow and arrow.

Cooking Together
I figured Eliot and Nate's daughter needed another part, so hear we go!
Contents: kissing, age gap mention, Hardison interrupting
Tumblr media
It had been a few months since I met Dad's crew. I had formed good friendship with all of them, especially Eliot. He and I would cook together a few times a week, whenever they weren't on a job, sometimes at my Dad's apartment, or at my apartment.
We had spent enough time together that it felt like we had known each other for years. Sharing recipes and techniques we'd learned, foods we liked and disliked. It was easy to fall for him, even though he was a few years older than me. Ok, maybe more that a few. He was almost twelve years older than me, but it could be worse.
Because it was December, we decided to making our favorite dishes that we wanted to share. We each had gone through the recipes we had made over the years, and picked out a favorite.
We had spent most of the day in my apartment kitchen, taking turns with the stove and oven, working together seamlessly.
Once everything was done, we tried it. The dish he made was amazing, it was one El had come up with himself.
I watch Eliot try his own dish, a small smile crossing his face, then he tries mine and let's out a low groan.
"This makes me want to get naked," he says, then scoops another mouth full.
"At least take me to dinner first." I say back to him with a laugh, trying not to picture him naked. That was something I did not need distracting me.
He gives me a slightly surprised look, but before he can respond I turn my back to him, the turn to the dishes I have to clean still.
As I start rinsing one of the bowls I used, I feel the heat of Eliot press up behind me, his hands hands coming to rest on the counter on both sides of my waist, effectively caging me in.
"I thought we'd had dinner together plenty of times," his voice a low grumble.
"I don't think having dinner with my Dad and the rest of the team counts."
"That's not what I'm talkin' about."
Ah yes. The times when he's come over late at night after a con and we would cook a simple dinner, then sit on the couch and talk or sit in silence, then we'd move to my bed and fall asleep in each other's arms. He'd always be gone in the morning, making it feel like it was a dream, but the fresh pot of coffee always reminded me it wasn't.
We never talked about it, and some times he wouldn't come for weeks, then a late night knock on my door would make my heart race.
"Those count?"
"You think they don't?"
"You leave before I wake up, and never talk about it any other time we see each other."
He let's out a sigh, brings his hands to my hips and turns me to face him, he tilts my face up with his finger to look me in the eye.
"They count."
A silence falls over us. Saying a mental "screw it," I pull him to my hight by the front of his shirt and kiss him, tucking my other hand under his ponytail to the back of his neck.
He let's out a bref noise of surprise, then wraps his arms around my waist, pressing himself further into the kiss.
We both lose ourselves into the kiss, hands wander from each other's hair to under shirts to feel each other's skin.
Eliot's phone rings in his pocket, breaking the spell. He pulls it out, tosses it to the counter, letting it ring out to voicemail while pulling me in for another kiss.
A minute later it rings again. We pull away, Eliot let's out a growl when he checks to see who's calling.
Hardison. Impeccable timing, as always.
"Answer it," I tell him.
He gives me a questioning look in return.
"He's just gonna keep calling until you answer, so answer it."
He let's out a sigh and drops his head back as he answers the phone and brings it to his ear.
"What?" He spits out.
"I have been texting you you for half an hour with no response. Then when I called you didn't answer. I thought you was dead on the side of the road. I was ready to -"
"Damnit Hardison. What do you want?"
"We got a job. Nate's calling everyone in."
"Now?"
"Yeah, now. What, you got plans this is interfering with?"
"Yeah, Hardison, I do."
"Well, they gonna have to wait till we're done. Be at Nate's in thirty."
And with that, Hardison hung up.
Eliot shoved his phone in his pocket with more force then necessary, then cupped my face with both hands and kisses me once more. Softer than before, but no less passionate.
" I have to go. But we will continue this when I get back."
"Okay. Let me know when you get back."
"I will."
He presses one last kiss to my lips, then heads towards the front door. He puts on his jacket, and turns to me again with a rare smile on his face.
"See you soon, darlin'."
Then he was gone out the front door.
