It took me literal months of gathering to get a dappled dunhoof, and I know getting a manticore has an even lower chance so I was ready to scavenge for like a year straight

Literally day 2 of scavenging and that manticore just plopped in my lap today

post/712308274032148480/ many have various other shades of brown skin (centaur archer, flamescale lancer, crystalcourt ambassador, dappled dunhoof, dunhoof ambassador, wintermane minstrel). many if not most of those beastclans WITH darker skin have hair textures (straight and slightly wavy) that imply ancestry other than african. south asian comes to mind first. only a few maren have hair that looks in the 4A-4C range. and they have various colors of skin that are not rly black representation

Comments: Finally found a good Aragorn fandragon. I was originally planning on getting ice, lightning, or water eyes (for grey or blue eyes) but then I spotted this fellow, who was almost exactly the colours I wanted (I was leaning towards tan-oilslick with a brown, grey, or black tert, which beige is one off from) and decided I could live with a violet eyed Strider.

2018-03-10 - Been tweaking the genetics of a few of my fandragons the last few days (applying ones that weren’t around when I put together the vast majority of them) and in Aragorn’s case, this has extended his record long enough to require a new one.

So some of the beastclan stuff going around atm got me thinking... does FR even really have much consistency when it comes to beastfolk? I mean, take Centaurs. According to the Beast Clans On The Rise info they live here:

So no Centaurs in Earth, right? Well, not so much. Because the Centaur Ambassador? Earth.

Then you’ve got the Dappled Dunhoof, which can be found by Hunting in... Earth.

And wait, there’s more! We’ve also got the Centaur Berserker! An Earth aligned Familiar in the ‘Earth’ venue of the Forgotten Caves. (Although what horses would be doing in caves in the first place is a little beyond me)

So, uh, we got Centaurs in Earth or what? And that’s just one type of beastfolk.

Long story short? Cannon with beastclans makes as much sense/means as much as cannon with dragons does.

Making it's debut in AA 1969, Mystery Run was a long-running cartoon about, primarily, a Brown-Spotted Mith (named Maggie) and her pet Tribeam Hunter (named Troobie) along with a Raptorik Wanderer, Longneck Mender, and Dappled Dunhoof. The series revolved around the party getting into fantastical situations with mundane reasoning, and despite being aimed towards children, gained a huge cult following. To this day, Mith parents name their daughters Maggie and Troobie is a favored name for a pet Tribeam.

I’m probably way more amused than I should be that I’ve been a member since June 2014 and only just before Christmas finally got a dappled dunhoof to show up in gathering.

And then got a second one less then two week later.

Now if only the GD hippojay would put in an appearance. *Checks AH prices* To heck with it, I’m buying one of the birdies; that spare dunhoof should AH for more than the jay will cost me.
