If we get a flashback in the show of younger Edwin when he was alive, I think it would be kind of fun if he was a little blonder (like his hair got darker as he aged), and he had the little blue cap from the comics

I also know George has been wanting to include some of comic Edwin's funny little phrases, like "blinking flip!" but they keep getting cut out of the show (probably for being too cheesy). A flashback to a kid Edwin would be the perfect time to include these!

Dear sandman and good omens fans

Here are a few reasons what you might want to watch dead boy detectives while waiting for season 2/3:

- it's only 8 episodes

- each follow unresolved ghost case. no filler moments and you will be hooked. By the way, the boys are actually good detectives.

- the characters round, complex, layered. The show doesn't 'say' things about them, it shows through subtle gestures, clothes, movement. The actors did an amazing job on portraying them.

- the relationship are surprising, deep, they will make you want to go hug your friends. (Good omens vibe there).

- the villan is a proper villain.

- 2 cameos of the Endless.

- the shoots are BEAUTIFUL. Light and scenery are really coherent and give a detective / mystery vibe

- tackles some real shit like trauma, acceptance, found family, never being sugarcoated or obvious. It also depicts pain in a very raw way, and the actors performance will blow you away.

- character development through the season is credible.

- it's actually well written, witty and fun at times, smart and heartfelt when needed.

This is really a nice show. Give it a go, because we would really love to see again our detectives back for a second season.

So i'm sure a lot of people who've read the comics more recently compared to me (most of the ones i read were so many years ago i don't really remember much) would know this already, but i was reading up about the endless to refresh my memory and i had completely forgotten this:

When we say everything is a clue and nothing is an accident we really mean EVERYTHING. I CAN'T BELIEVE i forgot that in this universe orpheus was related to despair and yes it IS that orpheus. I knew that Edwin's meeting with dispair was more then it may have seemed in the moment, that will inevitably come up again so well if i thought i needed a new season before OH MY GOD do i need it now

Theory for Season 2 of Dead Boy Detectives

Steve Yockey said Desire of the endless would make a tempting appearance in season 2 of dbda where the boys build relationships beyond friendship.

What if Despair of the endless is calling for Edwin and there he also meets Desire? Despair wants something from Edwin he is uncomfortable with and maybe desire offers Edwin a deal. Maybe desire the endless is interested in Edwin because of his repressed upbringing and denial of his own desires? The deal could contain that Edwin has to give in to 1-3 Desires in exchange for his freedom of Despair. And there are at least 2 (romantic ) desires of Edwin we know: kissing the cat king & being romantically involved with Charles. That could be really interesting 🧐

Edited: AND MAYBE Desire the endless appears in front of Charles (because we know Desire likes to play games) and hints at the hidden desire Charles has for Edwin while Charles builds a romantic relationship with crystal 🫢 And this could be one of the steps Charles has to take to realize his romantic feelings for Edwin 🧐

It’s one of many possibilities 🤓

I'M CALLING IT in season 2 niko will come back as a zombie because in episode 7 there's a small clip of night nurse and Niko talking about zombies and then in episode 8 at the very end of the episode it's revealed that Niko is alive so my theory is she'll come back as a zombie
