Domestic December Day 23
Prompt - Finishing each other's sandwiches. It was supposed to be "sentences" but then @fishwithtitz said "sandwiches" when I was bemoaning not knowing what to write, and here we are.
A vacation scene with the Demuirs and Terzo when their plane is delayed.

The Demuirs had more or less adopted Terzo into their family; he had become the friend who was essentially another child in the family. So long as Nihil was willing, or uncaring, enough to let Terzo travel with them, the family vacation included Terzo. This year Russel had needed to go to one of the U.S. Ministry locations, so the decision was made that everyone would go and their vacation would happen afterwards. Arriving at the airport the day after Russel’s business had concluded, their luggage was quickly deposited at the counter before they made their way to the gate. Finding out their flight was delayed, the group made their way to a nearby restaurant for lunch. Terzo opted for a burger and fries, enjoying the different food offerings. Quinn chose the turkey club sandwich with a side of fries.
“Are you sure you’ll be able to finish the entire sandwich and fries?” Sera asked her.
“I think so. I’m starving.”
“I can eat whatever she doesn’t,” Terzo grinned.
“Both of you are about to go through a growth spurt, aren’t you?” Russel asked in amusement.
“Not while we’re on vacation! I don’t need to find somewhere to buy both of you a new wardrobe in the middle of the desert!”
“Mom, it’s Vegas, not the middle of the Sahara,” Quinn rolled her eyes.
“Watch the attitude or I’ll ground you to the hotel room while the rest of us have a good time.”
“I’m not wrong though,” Quinn offered more quietly.
“I still don’t want to have to do it.”
Their food arrived and they ate, still having a lively conversation about the upcoming week of vacation. Terzo eventually stole a fry from Quinn’s plate.
“Terzo, you have your own fries!” She moaned in irritation.
“So?”
“Jerk.” She reached over and took a piece of bacon off his burger.
“Quinn!”
“What?”
“Your sandwich is literally part bacon!”
“So?” She mimicked back to him.
He gave her a flat look, and she stared back at him challengingly. His eyes narrowed suddenly and his hand darted over, grabbing one of the sandwich stacks before cramming it messily into his mouth. Quinn’s jaw dropped and she stared at him before grabbing his burger and taking a large bite out of it.
“Children!” Russel admonished, trying not to laugh a bit at their antics himself.
Sera let out a sigh, sending a silent prayer to Satan this was not how the entire trip would go.
“At least they’re sharing…?” Russel offered teasingly.
“Do not even, Russ,” Sera retorted, eyes closed.
Quinn looked at Terzo. “Pretty good burger for an airport. Dad’s are better though – maybe he’ll grill while we’re here!”
“Your sandwich isn’t bad either, considering what it is. A bit too much mayonnaise though…”
“We are in the U.S.,” Quinn muttered with a shrug.

Domestic December Day 13

Something Sera Demuir had insisted on was Terzo learning how to do laundry.
“Just because you’re the son of the Papa doesn’t mean you shouldn’t know how to do things for yourself!” She had declared this while setting a box of laundry detergent in front of him, and so the third son of Papa Nihil had learned as a young teen to do laundry, including ironing, stain removal, and minor repairs. Surprisingly he found he enjoyed being able to do these things himself, not needing to bother anyone if he didn’t need to. Quinn and Terzo often sat in one of the Ministry’s laundry rooms, chatting or studying as they waited for their laundry to finish. Sometimes Quinn played guitar if she didn’t feel like studying. That night she was sitting cross-legged on one of the tables, stitching a new patch onto her battle jacket. The dryer buzzed and Terzo looked over from where he lounged on a bench, propped up on his elbows.
“I’m not going to fold your laundry,” she informed him, stabbing the needle through the denim again.
He groaned, head falling back dramatically. “I’m so tired. Today was brutal.”
“Well, you’ll have clean sheets now, at least. You can make your bed, shower, then climb into fresh sheets – they may even still be warm when you’re done if you’re fast enough.”
Terzo sighed, “I know, I know.” He moved to get up.
Quinn’s eyes followed him, watching as he pulled his items from the dryer. Certain things he still had cleaned by the laundry service, such as his cassocks, but the basics he did himself. Doing his sheets himself was also a benefit, given how many “guests” he tended to have in his bed. He had spare sets, but found it unseemly to have the dirty ones lying around when a new “guest” was over.
“Will you at least help me fold the sheets?” his tired, black-lined eyes pleaded with her as he set things on the table beside her.
“Only the sheets,” she conceded, setting aside her sewing.
They quickly had the sheets folded and stowed in the laundry basket. The fitted sheet yielded a few socks tucked in its rounded corners, along with something orange. Terzo picked up the item, revealing a pair of orange lace panties.
“These are yours, must have gotten mixed in with my hamper,” he tossed them at her.
It was not unusual for some of her clothing to end up in his hamper; the odd band tee, socks, jeans, the pajamas she kept in his apartments.
Quinn picked up the offending garment delicately between two fingers. “I guarantee you these are not mine!” She flung them back at him, the fabric hitting him in the face.
“Whose else would they be?!” Terzo asked, throwing them back at her.
She dodged, the panties sliding down the wall to the table. “The number of people in your bed and you assume they can only be mine?! As if I’d wear those .”
“Ugh…” Terzo dragged a hand tiredly down his face, trying to think who they could belong to.
“Just put them in the forgotten laundry box.” Quinn picked up her battle jacket again to keep sewing.
“Fine. And you’re right, those are definitely not your colour.”
She rolled her eyes, stitching the patch to her jacket neatly while he finished folding his clothes.
He suddenly propped himself against the table in front of her, leaning in.
“You know, speaking of your panties…” He gave her a seductive look. “Any chance in me finding out what colour they are?”
“It’s not Friday,” she quipped, tying off a knot on her sewing.
His eyes narrowed as he smirked. “You damn well know it doesn’t have to be Friday.”
