The file lands on the table, followed by a dull sound. It‘s labelled with the name Diego Hargreeves. In contrary to the file Five still holds in his hands, this one is thicker and looks like it was used a lot. The sides are ripped and creased.
All eyes are on the file, except for one. Diego stares at the knife in his hands. He wishes his girlfriend would be here with him. She could calm him down and give him some kind of strength.
“Why didn‘t you tell us?“, Five asks almost reproachful and points at the file on the wooden table. His brother doesn‘t look up.
“What‘s this?“, Luther asks as he picks up the thick file and starts browsing through it. The huge man widens his eyes in shock.
“I was looking for more information about Lila but instead I found this“, Five explains. The other file must be the one belonging to Lila but that doesn‘t matter to any of the siblings in the room right now.
“The patient is defiant, cynical and violent. Medication has to be increased.“
Diego remembers how they drugged him until he couldn‘t remember his own name anymore.
“Three days in the isolation cell had no effects on the patient.“
They imprisoned him like a cruel criminal. The cell was hell because not only was Diego isolated but the lack of sounds and light played with his mind. Three days of isolation had effects on him.
“A carer had to knock him out because he tried to escape.“
Diego didn‘t want to escape. He was on his way to the canteen. That special carer just hated him and thought it would be funny to punch the defenseless and drugged Diego in the face.
“The patient wont eat.“
Although the food in the mental hospital wasn‘t the best, Diego always ate the food he got. He knew he needed to be ready to escape this hell. They simply didn‘t give him food because he denied to take any more pills.
Luther reads out loud more details of his brothers life in the mental hospital but Diegos ears start ringing. His sight gets blurred. Neither can Diego see or hear anything anymore. The only feeling surrounding him is pain and fear.
He grips his knees as hard as possible and tries to focus on anything but the damage is already done. Diego has an anxiety attack.
Too late do his siblings notice their brothers discomfort and even the moment they realize they hurt him, they just stand and stare.
Fortunately, (Y/n) returns that moment with the groceries she was supposed to get. The moment she see her boyfriend slumped on the couch with tears streaming over his cheeks, she lets go of the paper bag. Quickly, she runs to Diego and doesn‘t wait a second to hug him.
With his girlfriend on his lap and her arms around his shaking body, Diego has finally something good to focus on. (Y/n) knows him well enough to be aware of the fact that only warmth and human touch can help Diego out of his panic attacks.
After some time Diegos siblings know they have to fo something. At least they were the ones to cause his distress. So, one by one they join the hug which is quiet difficult because Diego and (Y/n) are sitting on the couch.
Finally, all of the Hargreeves siblings have their arms protectively around their brother in a family hug.

A crackling makes the female sit up in her bed. She starts breathing uneven when she hears someone at her front door. It has to be a burglar.
Immediately, (Y/n) jumps out of her bed. She remembers the last time someone broke inside her apartment. It was terrible and scary. The burglar punched her and if a certain vigilant wouldn‘t have come though her window, she wouldn‘t have survived. Fortunately, the vigilant who si her boyfriend now saved her.
The female runs to the one spot at her wall where Diego build some kind of hideout for her. (Y/n) opens the invisible door and crawls inside. In there she huddles up and closes her eyes.
There are slow steps in her bedroom and (Y/n)s heart start beating fast and uneven. Suddenly, she can‘t get any air inside her lungs anymore. She gasps for breath like a fish on dry land but quickly places a hand over her mouth. The fear of the burglar finding her rises inside her chest and it tightens further.
Then the door gets ripped open and in front of the anxious female stands no burglar but her boyfriend. Diego stares at the crouched person with wide brown eyes.
“Hey, baby. It‘s okay. It‘s just me. It‘s Diego“, he whispers and kneels down in front of his girlfriend. Carefully, he places a hand on her cheek and the other hold onto one of her hands. Only now do tears stream over (Y/n)s face.
“Baby. Can you list five things you can see?“, Diego asks with a soft voice and caresses her cheek with his thumb. (Y/n) swallows hardly and takes an shaking deep breath. Her eyes wander over Diego and her bedroom.
“I-I can see...you. And I can see...my bed. There is my fav-favorite plushy. The flowers you gave me this morning. T-The book shelf“, the female whispers with a shaking voice.
Diego looks at the bed and the plushy. He knows leaving (Y/n) for a few seconds could make things worse, but he is sure the plushy will calm her down. So Diego stands up and runs to the bed, getting the plushy and then handing it to (Y/n). She tries to smile at him.
“Okay. Now four things you can touch“, Diego tells her. He sits down again and takes one of her hands in his. (Y/n) presses the plushy to her chest.
“The plushy. I can feel...your hands. The carpet. My sleeping shirt“, the female says a little calmer but there are still tears streaming over her cheeks. And her breathing is still uneven.
“Well done, baby! Now three things you can hear“, Diego suggests and smiles at proudly at his girlfriend.
“Yo-Your voice.“ (Y/n) takes her time and listens closely. “The rain outside. My own breathing.“
“You‘re doing great! What about two things you can smell“, Diego says and places one of his hands on (Y/n)s neck, stroking her chin with his rough thumb.
“Your scent“, the female moves closer to her boyfriend. “And the slight smell of the rain outside.“
Diego nods enthusiastic because he proud how calm his girlfriend is already. The tears are gone, only the wetness of her cheeks show that she cried. Her breathing is almost back to normal and her body doesn‘t shake anymore.
“Okay, last one. One thing you can taste, baby“, Diego smiles at her and leans his forehead against (Y/n)s.
“You“, she whispers and the next moment they share a careful but still passionate kiss.
