i have been unmedicated for the entirety of spring break and thus have had little interest in writing this down, but i have been thinking about this for the entire week (as well as a dpdc clone danny au that resulted in it becoming its entirely separate batman au that includes a teenage vigilante bruce wayne, an ocarina, and me entirely incapable of making a batman au without making bruce dirt poor but we're not talking about that) and so i've finally went 'fuck it' and forcibly grabbed my laptop. I will get this done in one sitting even if it kills me.

BUT. This is about neither clone^2 danny nor about who i am calling Ocarina Batman. This is about my Danyal Al Ghul Au and more SPECIFICALLY it's me thinking about his relationship with Sam and Tucker specifically.

Tucker and Sam? Adore this asshole (affectionate) with every fiber of their being. And it is very much a reciprocated feeling, but Danny's thoughts will not be delved into much other than he would kill for them.

Tucker? The only person currently capable of getting a deep, loud, belly laugh out of Danny. Sam can get him to smile and to laugh, but it's the kind that's a chuckle-under-the-breath. The quiet, looks-down-while-huffing laughter. Snorts once with laughter and then grins stupidly.

But Tucker? Tucker can crack a slew of stupid jokes and Danny will be incapacitated for the next five minutes because he's laughing so hard that he can't breath. He lands one well-timed pun or quip and Danny will be close to tears. His laughter is their favorite sound in the whole world.

Sam is lowkey jealous of this ability, and she's gotten a belly laugh out of Danny a few times. But alas, it is Tucker who wields this power and has gotten it the most times out of the two of them.

They're also both physically affectionate with Danny as much as possible. It started roughly around when they were 12-ish, a year since they befriended Danny, and they noticed that he sought after touch but never seemed to initiate (and was in some ways repulsed by it). They started slowly being more touchy with him. Hooking a finger around his to lead him somewhere, tapping his wrist, looping arms. Little touches, grabs, etc, to get him used to it, and once he started doing it back they started increasing it.

It's gotten to a point where he will now just. Lay on them. Like a lizard sunbathing on a rock. Leaning on their backs when they're sitting in class before the bell rings, his chin on their heads. He'll talk about anything with his arms looped around their shoulders.

If they're sitting on a couch at either of their houses, he'll lay his legs on theirs. Him and Tucker will press their feet against the other's and try and push against them (newsflash: Danny always wins, Tucker claims its the ghost strength but Danny's been winning since before his accident)

Naturally, both Sam and Tucker know where Danny keeps his weapons on his person, and are allowed to grab them off of him if they need it. His only requirement is that they don't lose his weapons if they take it and forget to return it immediately.

They both understand how big of a thing this is from Danny, and so they do their best to treat his weapons with a lot of respect and care because they know its his way of saying he trusts them.

Sam and Tucker are so fond of Danny it's insane. Like fr. That's their goddamn best friend, and they are so protective of him. Emotionally, physically, you name it. They will tear the head off a grown man if they need to, Danny's had scars since he arrived in Amity Park and Sam and Tucker both are going to find the person who put them there and make them pay for it.

One time, Tucker overheard a bunch of upperclass girls speaking nastily about Danny and about the rumors surrounding him, calling him names like 'freak', 'monster', etc. Danny was with him and heard it, and seemingly appeared unbothered by it, even telling Tucker that he was used to such rumors.

Tucker was so furious that hacked into the school system later that night and tanked those girls grades. They were kicked out of their clubs and had to go to mandatory tutoring for the rest of the year. He made sure to leave some way of letting them know it was him who did it.

And Sam doesn't like using her money for things, doesn't like abusing that wealth. So instead, whenever her parents talk bad about Danny, she causes a media incident that has her parents scrambling to deal with. She does something wild, outrageous by her parents' standards.

She heard some boys on the basketball team making fun of Danny once, similar to those girls had. She kicks up a fuss about something eco-unfriendly at school and forcibly holds a protest on the same day of the big home basketball game, forcing them to cancel the event and reschedule to a visiting school.

She anonymously donates money so that there's new uniforms for the team but oops! Looks like she "forgot" to donate enough money for them to get uniforms for all the team members, and strangely enough those boys in particular didn't get them! Looks like they'll have to wait until more money gets donated for the basketball team to get their new, nice uniforms. The old ones look so ratty in comparison, right?

And since the football team gets most of the sport money, that might just take awhile. And if (and when) they kick up a fuss? oops! Off the basketball team you go, :) such unsportsman-like behavior is unfit for the team.

(The only good thing about how corrupt the school system is is that she can use it to her advantage too.)

The both of them know that Danny suspects them for the sudden misfortune falling on these people, but he doesn't call them out on it. He's kinder than he used to be, but not kind enough to vouch for people who speak badly of him. Sometimes, he might just congratulate them on not getting caught.

Because Danny is their wonderful, hurt friend with a "slightly" Blue and Orange Moral code, and enough scars that people have been calling him a criminal (and worse) since he arrived in Amity Park when he was ten. And they'll be damned if he gets hurt anymore.

you know you're an adult when you get excited over furniture. there was an estate sale near my job this weekend and i came home with a comfy small green chair for my "reading nook" in my small 350-square-foot apartment and I got so excited about reorganizing (even though I am a messy bitch) and it really says something, you know? about how when I was a kid, anything to do with cleaning my room was a drag and a burden but now that this tiny space is mine, all mine, everything I do to improve it/change it is so much more fun.

💌 || i think what people disregard or don't realize about ren/[REDACTED] is that he still be unintentionally harmful towards the mc, affecting them somehow if they actually caught him basically lying to them the entire time by being someone he's not - and plus a lot of fucked up shit he has done to others since he sees them as a potential threat and he doesn't want anyone else getting too close to them or hurting them. he's possessive, overprotective and even impulsive at times, not even caring the severity of his actions. what matters to him is that he gets to be with mc for the rest of his life, and especially them not knowing how much of a obsessive dangerous individual he truly is.

but if that somehow backfires.. mc wants no contact with ren/[REDACTED] whatsoever, they finally learn that he's not what he seems, if anything he's definitely no good to be around. he's unstable and doesn't seem to care much about almost everyone else besides them. he can't imagine a future without them or their future without him.. he can't let go. he has to be with them, or he just doesn't see himself with a partner. he sees no purpose in life if he doesn't get to be in their picture.

and mc now knows that, knows that he had harmed many people for his selfish infatuation towards them. knows that he doesn't feel comfortable being his actual self since he was raised in a unstable household - not really understanding how healthy love works and if he could ever be loved if he wasn't pretending and changing up his interests just for mc. and so therefore they confront him, straightforwardly telling him that they know he isn't the person he seems to be and his horrid, awful actions. they don't want to talk to him anymore, or even come near him. they think he's disgusting and should be sent in prison, being served a death penalty for the lives he stolen.

but no, no no! he can't let them go.. he can't just be simply separated from them for good. he needs them and they need him. so he tries to convince mc that isn't the case and he hasn't done anything wrong, that he doesn't know what they're talking about. oh but they're not letting it go whatsoever - they know more than enough already and they're certain they shouldn't be around him anymore. they're not that gullible.

and it leads to a messy argument, mc yelling at ren/[REDACTED] as wet tears began to stream down their cheeks. they had realized how emotional they were getting but they just did not care anymore.. they learned they were dealing with a murderous, obsessed stalker. all what was going on now was them shouting insults and saying they don't want anything to do with him - and him still denying those claims. that is until mc just gives up bothering to argue with him and gets their stuff to leave. they know he can't keep up with the lies any longer, after all he's gonna be sent to jail and he won't hurt anyone else anymore right? ... right??

wrong.. so wrong.

he won't let them leave, he can't afford to.. and he resorts to kidnapping them, grabbing them and restraining them so they can't struggle out of his firm grasp. mc screams and kicks, trying to get him off of them and their eyes lingering towards the front door. determined on escaping his grip and reporting him to the police. they can't give up.. they have to leave.. they aren't safe around him, no one is..

ren/[REDACTED] mutters out so many apologies, telling them he can't let them go and that it's for the best. he didn't want this to end this way but it's the last resort.. he hopes someday mc finds it in their heart to forgive him and soon understand he did all of this for them.

but only time will tell.

The fandom has gotten really dark since you left.. certain shippers are really aggressive about their ships to the point of bullying. I kno you’ve dealt with stuff like that in the past and you handled it all so well I remember reading some anon asks.. any tips n’tricks?

OOF, WHELP -- not sure I'll be much help given that I have no idea what state the fandom is in. All I can really say is that you're going to find aggressive shippers no matter what fandom you're in. My method to dealing with people like that was to just block them and add them to my blacklist. The only times I ever engaged with them was if they came at me directly (which rarely happened -- the more aggressive they are, the more cowardly they were when it came to confrontation) or if they put a callout post about me directly in the main fandom tag. I always clapped back at those people just because like lol if you've got a problem with my fics or my decision to delete them all, okay cool, I don't care, but doing stuff like putting a long-winded complaint post in the main tag is so childish and stupid.

The best advice I think I can give for this is to just not care LOL I sure as hell never did and still don't. Never will! Shipping is supposed to be fun and the people who actively try and take that fun away from others are struggling with issues outside of fandom, but shipping is their outlet so that's where their aggression manifests. Happy people don't care about drama over fictional characters, so go be a happy person! Utilize that block option and live your best life!

Always funny to me when my coworkers notice how much of a germaphobe I am when they see me wipe down my cart in the morning. I dont just wipe the handle, I wipe the top of the sides and the top part of the baby seat, places where people grab other than the handle. Then I use hand sanitizer bc by that point I've touched: the cart, the scanner locker screen and locker, my scanner (also wipe that shit down, yuck), my lock, and the spray bottle. So yucky places.

I mean hey maybe I'm not giving my immune system that boost of exposure, but I'm also not giving it covid, norovirus, or influenza from touching the cart and scanner so 🤷‍♀️
