for me there’s just something about characters who are obsessed with being “a hero” but seem to think of it in a bizarrely meta sense as like a title they deserve bc they have done x and y things... love that brand of totally bonkers thinking.

i do worry people are setting themselves up for disappointment by speculating about the new Mysterious Woman™ being the sixth. sentai sixth rangers have always been a completely new character to the cast rather than side characters finally getting to henshin. occasionally they'll show up an episode or two before their official debut like time fire or don doragoku but that's it

we do know there's creatives at toei who want to put women in more prominent hero roles, and maybe, as much as boonboomger is going back to basics, they'll continue sentai's experimental streak by switching up the sixth formula a bit, so i suppose it's more likely now than it was like, five years ago, but. i won't be surprised if they end up announcing some quirky new dweeb instead

either way i can only hope the show's writing is good to her. perhaps a smidge of Car Yuri to balance out all the Car Yaoi 🙏
