''Can somebody help me find The Notebook?'' Jackson was too busy walking around clueless to pick up on the eerie vibe. I't wasn't till the phone began to rang where he started to question his surroundings.
''Hello?'' He called out, glancing around. The store had looked pretty vacant.
''Is anybody working here?'' He could still hear the phone ringing in the background.
''You gotta be kidding me'' Jackson sighed to himself in annoyance. He kept walking through the different aisles of movies, deciding to just look for it himself.
He stopped short when he saw feet on the ground behind one of the movie rows in front of him. He squinted his eyes before moving closer. Once he had approached the row, he stopped short to see a body laying against the shelf, his throat cut open with blood oozing out of the wound. Jackson's eyes widen as he began to become fearful. He back up so fast that his back hit the ladder that was propped up beside him holding a light in place. It soon came tumbling down along with the light and wiring, causing the store to start flickering.
He began to move away but was stop short by a menacing growl. He slowly turned around and gulped. Once his eyes adjusted to the figure he freaked, quickly taking cover behind one of the movie shelves. When he's breathing calmed a bit he peeked around the corner, it took a few seconds for the flash of an animal to run past. He quickly pulled himself back behind the shelves and began to quiver with more fear.
The sound of the shelves tumbling brought him back as he soon got up to try and get away before he was squished. His legs get caught, pining him to the ground face first. He groaned in pain though he stopped once he heard low breathing just above him. He felt something touch is neck before an angry growl, the animal soon running away through a glass window causing it to shatter.

I had spent my entire night pondering over what had happened this afternoon. I over analysed everything and just ended up with a headache. I didn't know what to make of everything but I did know one thing. I was going to stay far away from Stiles and Scott no matter what.
''Hey, are you okay?'' I heard Allison's voice drift in through the doorway. I quickly wiped away a tear and turned to face her with a smile.
''Yeah, just stressed over school, are you okay?'' I knew if I bounced the question back onto her she may miss the lie. She did.
''Honestly no'' She walks in and closes the door behind her. I move over on my bed and make room for her to sit down next to me.
''What's up?''
''It's Scott.. He's acting weird'' I tried to keep my face without expression so she couldn't see that I was keeping something from her.
''McCall is always acting weird'' I joked causing us both to chuckle slightly. Her frown soon returns after.
''It seemed more than that, like he was.. hiding something'' Her voice trails off. I gulped nervously, fidgeting with my hands in my lap.
''I'm sure it's nothing, that boy is so bad at lying'' I lied. She turned to face me and smiled and nodded her head agreeing with me, wiping away underneath her eyes.
''Yeah you're probably right, like always'' She jokes, but she's the only one who laughs this time.
''I'm gonna call it a night, I'm pretty tired'' I tell Allison as she turns to face me and smiles. She nods he head and gets up, saying goodnight before closing my bedroom door behind her. I sighed and laid back, letting my eyes fall close as to hopefully forget about this whole day altogether.
~*~*~*~*
I popped my Chemistry, History and English books into my backpack. I did a double take of myself in the mirror, touching up on my lip gloss as my Aunt Kate walks in.
''Hey...'' I turn to face her and smile.
''Listen, you know I... feel totally horrible about my behavior the other morning, right?'' Kate says with a hopeful smile and I nod to her.
''Oh, totally forgotten'' I blow it off.
''No, not forgotten by me, I bruised you something fierce and I'm really sorry'' I smile and shake my head.
''It's okay, really'' it really was.
''Come on, call me a horrid bitch or something'' I laugh to myself and shaky my head.
''You were just, being protective'' I said, glancing at her seriously.
''I was being a protective, horrid bitch...'' Once again I laugh.
''Who is giving you your birthday present early so you'll forgive her'' She pulls out a box behind her back and mouth drops open in surprise. I greedily take it from her and open it, gasping once I saw the most gorgeous bracelet.
''Forgiven?'' She asks, as if that was necessary. I smile and nod my head so fast as I giggle. She giggles too as I snatch the bracelet out and let her pop it on my wrist.
''I love it!''
''It's a family heirloom'' Kate begins. I look up to her in confusion.
''And you know me, I hate and loathe all sentimental crap'' I laugh.
''But that, well, look at the symbol in the middle of the charm. See that?'' I glance down at the biggest dangly charm and smile once I see a wolf.
''Yeah'' I respond, my eyes glued to it.
''You ever wanna learn a little something about your family? Look it up'' I glance up at her and furrow my eyebrows but continue to smile.
''You're gonna make me work for it'' I realise, popping my wrist up so I can get a better view.
''Some mysteries are worth the effort'' I glance at her she fiddles with the charm herself and smirk.
''In that case, challenge accepted'' We both laugh before grabbing my things, walking out my bedroom closing the door behind me.
~*~*~*~*
I was shocked to say the least when I opened my locker to see it full of balloons and streamers. In annoyance I slammed my locker shut and sighed to myself, not bothering to even read the card that was there. Lydia, who else would have known?
''Hey...'' On hearing that twice this morning I pivot around to see Stiles nervously standing there, his hands in his pockets.
''What do you want'' I snarled at him. He seemed taken aback but not surprised at my outburst.
''The balloons... is today your birthday?'' He asks, a hopeful glint in his eye. I rolled my eyes and turned away from him.
''No'' I lied in anger as I turned to walk away from him and towards first period. Reminder, kill Lydia once I see her.
''Just a friendly reminder, parent/teacher conferences are tonight. Students below a 'C' average are required to attend. I won't name you because the shame and self-disgust should be more than enough punishment. Has anyone seen Scott McCall?'' I was almost livid when Stiles chose to sit next to me in Chemistry. Though Harris made the class so much more enjoyable, note the sarcasm.
The door opened and Jackson walked in. taking a seat across from Stiles and I. I smiled up at him as he returned it timidly, sitting down at his desk. I furrow my eyebrows.
''Hey, Jackson. If you need to leave early for any reason, you let me know'' God he gave you the creeps.
''Everyone, start reading chapter nine'' I turned to face Stiles with a disgusted look. He shook his head and glanced back at me in confusion.
''What?'' He whispers.
''You couldn't find some other place to sit, loner boy?'' He dropped his look and lent back in his chair in annoyance.
''How original, never heard that before'' His sarcasm was seriously going to be the death of me. I glared.
''Look, stay far away from me and-''
''Why are you so friendly with Jackson?'' He cut me off. I sighed angrily and turned to face my work.
''That's none of your business'' I stated still angry. I heard one of his highlighters fall onto his textbook.
''Of course Miss and Mr popular would be 'friendly' with-'' I whipped my head so fast his way.
''Shut your mouth, nobody, before I rip it right off and-''
''Miss Argent, I suggest you focus more on chemistry than running your mouth'' I instantly shut up but turn to face Stiles with a glare. I quickly look away and focus back on my work, deciding to ignore him for the rest of class.
''Hey, Danny, Can I ask you a question?'' I couldn't help but overhear Stiles saying to Danny who was just in front of us.
''No'' I smiled.
''Well, I'm going to anyway'' I rolled my eyes.
''Um, did Lydia show up in your home room today?'' He was asking about Lydia? Why would he be- oh. I smirked.
''No'' Danny replies with a sigh.
''Can I ask you another question?'' Stiles persisted, probably starting to piss Danny off seeing as he already didn't like the guy.
''Answer's still no'' I couldn't help but to smile to myself now at their little conversation. As much as I had wanted to be angry at Stiles I really couldn't. Yes, him and his friend were beyond weird and psycho yet... he was still dorkish and charming in his own way. Oh my god, Avery get a grip, you're starting to sound like love sick Allison.
''Does anyone know what happened to her and Jackson last night?'' I myself had heard a rumor going around and last night, apparently Lydia and Jackson we're in some sort of accident at the video store. An unpleasant shiver went down my spine, my thoughts reeling with all the possibilities. All the animal attacks lately that were happening to this town, it was turning into something of a horror movie.
''No'' Danny sounded a little upset as he said this. He and Jackson were best friends so it was a little odd that he didn't know anything. That or he didn't want to say which would be fair enough.
''He wouldn't tell me'' Unfortunately my heart bled a little for Danny. They always seemed close yet Jackson had been pulling away for quite some time now.
''But, he's your best friend'' And as quickly as my anger vanished it quickly returned again. I spun around, made sure the teacher wasn't looking and softly slapped Mr Annoying over the back of his head.
'Hey! Ow!'' He turned to face me with a scowl. I scoffed.
''Stay out of other peoples business, Creep'' I could see out of the corner of my eye Danny smiling at my words. Mr Annoying just rolled his eyes in response before turning around to face Danny again.
''One more question'' Creep lent forward a little in his seat probably so I couldn't hear what he was going to say next.
''What?!'' Danny was beyond annoyed now.
''Do you find me attractive?'' I stopped what I was currently doing and stifled a laugh. Mr Annoying must have heard me because he spun around to me so fast and scowled once again, though with a hint of red on his cheeks this time.
~*~*~*~*
The next two periods dragged on so painfully slowly. I was happy at least that no one else even mentioned my birthday. It was weird not to see Allison though. Once class had finished and break loomed over I pulled out my phone once I exited class.
''Hey Allison, where are you?'' I heard her giggle in the background before she answered me.
''Please don't tell Mum and Dad'' I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion but let her continue.
''I'm sort of... not at school'' I rolled my eyes at her obviousness.
''I'm not an idiot, I figured as much'' I said softly, making sure I was being rude but in fact sarcastic.
''You've grown more and more sarcastic lately'' Allison spoke, alerting Scott to their conversation. He smiled to himself, thinking it was Stiles having this effect on her.
''Well to deal with a sort-of-someone I kinda have to be'' You guys were getting off track. She giggled once again. The sound made you smile, finally glad to see she was enjoying her birthday for once.
''I won't say anything, I promise. But you do owe me'' I smile. Allison thanks me before hanging up her phone. I keep the smile on my face as I pocketed mine, turning around to face my locker. Once I opened it more balloons fell out this time, along with a birthday card. I quickly glanced around me, noticing only a few people in the hallways seeing as everyone else had already made their way to the cafeteria. I groaned and turned back around, trying to take all the balloons out and grabbing a pen from my pocket. Yes, I kept pens in my pocket cause I was often losing them in my bag.
One by one I started popping them, the loud pops echoing throughout the hallway. The people that were here turned to stare for a few seconds before minding their own business once again.
''Is it your birthday?'' I just simply looked at the guy behind me and scowled, hoping he would get the hint and leave me alone. It was weird acting tough all the time, something I was still getting use to. But I was not going to let myself get walked all over like last time, I was not going to be that same pathetic girl who was bullied, tormented and laughed at for being different. I was never going to let anyone know about my secret, no one here will ever know about the old me and what she'd done.
I snapped out of my thoughts and reached forward for the card, deciding to read it first to see if the person had left a name. A name I was going to find and kill them for even knowing such personal information about me.
''Happy birthday, Stiles'' I rolled my eyes in annoyance and just decided to pop the card back in the locker, slamming it shut angrily. When I found this Stiles he was going to be a dead man.
~*~*~*~*
Using my charm on the student boy receptionist in the office I managed to find Stiles information, where he lived precisely so I could see what he knew and tell him to stay away from me. I knew this was a little too much but I couldn't have people digging in my past, not again..
''Here you go, please don't tell anyone about this'' I gave my best, charming smile towards the boy, biting my lip a little with a subtle wink.
''It'll be our little secret''

I was beyond Happy when I head my Aunt Kate was here. I quickly bounced out of bed and rushed over towards the guest bedroom down stairs after I'd finished breakfast. Once I saw the door was wide open I squealed in excitement and rushed in, Kate turning around with a huge smile on her face.
She laughs with me and gives me a big hug. I pull away and excitedly jump onto the bed, eagerly wanting to hear what she has been up to lately.
''God I've missed you...'' She trails off as she skims over my pj's.
''And your crazy socks!'' She finishes. I was known by always mis-matching my socks with any outfit I wore, even my pyjamas.
''I can't believe I don't see you for a year and you turn into a freaking runway model? Look at you! Ugh, I hate you'' I shy away and put a hand in front of my face.
''I haven't even showered yet'' It was nice to know that I've grown a bit over the year. The last year had been the... hardest on me. School wise and body wise.
''Sweetie you're a knock out. In fact, I hope you have the boys knocking each others teeth out for your attention'' I giggled and blushed at the compliment.
''I kind of have a lot'' I murmured. She smirked proudly.
''That's my girl, you have a lot? Well you should kinda have a million'' I laughed happily at this.
''Do you need some help unpacking?'' I reached forwards but as soon as I did she gripped my wrist tightly, preventing my movements. It was so tight that it actually hurt.
''No, not that one'' I frowned. She must have saw this because I heard her sigh and slowly release my wrist.
''See? You turn out beautiful and I end up with this Kung Fu death grip'' She jokes, both of us laughing once again.
''Sorry, Sweetie, I didn't mean to be so rough'' I could hear how genuine she was.
''No worries'' I piped up as I hoped of the bed and made my way out of the room as she headed into her en-suite. I frowned to myself as I left, walking back out into the kitchen.
That was beyond strange.
~*~*~*~*
''If Derek Isn't the Alpha, if he's not the one that bit you, then who did?'' Stiles tapped the back of Scott's during History.
''I don't know'' Scott shakes his head in confusion.
''Did the Alpha kill the bus driver?'' Stiles lent forward to whisper to Scott.
''I don't know'' Scott replied again. Stiles pulled back harshly in his chair and sighed to himself. His eyes soon widened.
''Does Allison's dad know about the-'' He was cut off.
''I don't know!'' Scott snapped as soon as he turned around to face Stiles. It was loud enough for the whole class to hear. Once they had lost interest Scott turned back around and lowered his head.
He kept his head down till the graded paper came around. Once his was in front of him he picked it up and read it with a frown, not realising his best friend was reading it over his shoulder.
''Dude, you need to study more'' Scott put the piece of paper down and ignored Stiles.
''That was a joke. Scott, it's one test. You're going to make it up'' Stiles encouraged with a warm smile.
''Do you want help studying?'' He offered.
''No'' Scott sighs.
''I'm studying with Allison after school'' Scott says. Stiles perks up and smirks.
''That's my boy'' He bellows. Scott turns his head slightly.
''We're just studying'' He states.
''Uh-uh. No, you're not'' Stiles shakes his head, frazzled.
''No, I'm not?'' Scott questions back confused.
''Not if I am forced to live vicariously through you. If you go to her house today and squander that colossal opportunity, I-i swear to god I'll have you de-balled-''
''Okay'' Scott soon got the picture.
''Just, stop with the questions, man'' Scott murmurs over his shoulder
''Done. No more questions. No more talk about the Alpha or Derek. Especially Derek, who still scares me''
~*~*~*~*
‘'You know you're kind of an ass to her'' I spoke up to Jackson as he fished out things from his locker. He turned to me and frowned before returning to what he was doing.
''I know'' was all he said. I furrowed my eyebrows.
''So why?'' I asked, I was curious by nature. He sighs and peeks at me from behind his locker.
''It's who I am, come on, you've known me for a week, you really going to try and psychoanalyze me in such a short period of time?'' I huffed and crossed my arms over my chest.
''I am not trying to psychoanalyze you, just trying to get to know you better, see into your dark soul and yada-yada'' With this the both of us share a laugh.
''Come on, lighten up Mr Broody'' I playfully slapped his shoulder and he smiled.
''Why are you defending Lydia anyway? I thought you hated her'' That was a good question. I pondered over the question for a minute.
''She's not all bad I guess'' I answered. He smirked and looked over at me.
''Looks like Miss Perfect does have a heart after all'' I playfully shoved him causing up both to laugh even harder this time. It was nice to have a genuine friend.
''Where's Scott McCall?'' came a deep male voice from behind Jackson. I looked up to see a sickly pale, dark haired guy who looked as if he was very ill. Jackson closed his locker slowly before turning to face the stranger.
''Why should I tell you?'' Now was probably not the time to be a smart-ass Jackson.
''Because I asked you politely'' This guy was beginning to give me the heeby jeebies.
''Jackson?'' I spoke up, gaining both of their attention.
''Where's Scott McCall?'' The guy now turned to ask me, stepping closer. He seemed to say it with such authority that it made me cower slightly. Jackson stood in front of me.
''Hmm, okay, tough guy. How about I help you find him if you tell me what you've been selling him'' Selling? Scott? He didn't seem like the guy to be taking drugs.
''What is it? Is it Dianabol? Hmm? HGH?'' Scott's on steroids?
''Steroids?'' The mystery guy responded.
''No, girl scout cookies'' I rolled my eyes and uncrossed my arms at Jackson's remark.
''I'm leaving'' I put my arms up in mock surrender before turning to walk away. There was no way in hell I wanted to be apart of that conversation with... them any longer. The guy gave me the creeps. And he smelt, awful.
I walked around the corner and spotted Ally and Lydia walking up the stairs. I quickly rushed over to them, as fast as I could in high heeled boots.
''Scott's coming over, tonight?'' I heard Lydia ask Allison in a tone.
''We're just studying together'' She defends.
''Just studying never ends with just studying'' I almost wanted to puke by what she was insinuating.
''Gross, Lydia'' I spoke up, catching both of their attention. She turned to face me and rolled her eyes.
''As if you've never 'studied' with a guy before'' She says with sass, flicking her hair over her shoulder as she walked up the steps. Allison stopped to face me but I quickly glared at her, telling her to keep her mouth shut.
''So, what are you saying?'' Allison asked Lydia, getting her to stop once again.
''I'm just saying, you know, make sure he covers up'' She has got to be kidding me. I rolled my eyes as I walked up along Allison's side.
Poor Allison seem confused. Lydia rolled her eyes once again.
''Hello, Snow White, I'm talking about a condom'' With this her eyes widen. Both Allison and I laugh.
''Are you kidding? After one date?'' I spoke up for my sister. Lydia turns to me and smirks.
''Don't be a total prude like your sister'' I loved how Lydia just assumes stuff.
''Give him a little taste'' Lydia says to Allison.
''Well, I mean, how much is a little taste'' I had wanted to hit my head against the bricked wall.
''Oh, god. You really like him, don't you?'' She asked, slight aww in her tone.
''Well, he's just different'' I kept listening to their conversation as all three of us climbed the remaining steps, turning to walk down the hallway.
''When I first moved I had a plan, no boyfriends till college I just, move to much. But then I met him and... I don't know, I can't explain it'' Allison rambled on causing me to smile.
''I can, it's your brain flooding with phenlythylamine'' I piped up once again, both of them stopping to face me. Allison was confused while Lydia just nodded her head in agreement.
''What?'' Allison laughed confused.
''Don't worry'' I responded.
''I'll tell you what to do, when is he coming over?'' Lydia continued on with the conversation, Allison's attention now back on her.
''Right after school''
~*~*~*~*
I was happy to hear the home bell ring. I raced out of class and over towards my car which was parked in the middle of the parking bay. I went to unlock my door when I began to hear cars honking. Confused, I turned around to see a pile of cars behind an old blue jeep.
''What the hell?'' I popped the keys back into my jacket pocket and jogged over towards the blue jeep noticing three guys there. The one lying on the ground being the same guy from earlier today.
''Are you okay?'' the other two quickly turned to face me with raised eyebrows. I recognised Scott and Cutie.
''Scott?'' Brown eye's seemed to dim a little before he turned to face Scott who was looking at me with wide eyes.
''U-u-um Avery, it's okay, we've got this'' I shook my head, noticing the guy on the ground was bleeding.
''He's severely injured, we need to take him to the hospital'' I spoke, walking forward to kneel on the ground beside the guy. The guy groans and tenses in pain.
''What are you doing? Stop that!'' Scott yelled at the guy. I glanced over at Scott with a 'what the hell?' look
''That's what I'm trying to tell you, I can't''
''Scott pass me your jumper'' I spoke up, grabbing onto the guys bicep causing him to jerk in pain. I could have sworn I heard him growl but I ignored it.
''What?'' Scott asks confused.
''Your jumper, now!'' I urged. He swiftly pulled it of and passed it to me.
''What are you doing?'' He asks.
''I'm making a tourniquet to reduce the bleeding'' I explained as I began to wrap the jumper up into a make shift rope, tying it around the guys bicep making him groan in pain.
''Derek, get up'' Scott says sternly. Wait, they knew him?
''Help me put him in your car'' Scott asks his friend to help lift him. They both placed him int the passenger seat of the car, closing the door. I walked over towards the car and opened the drivers seat.
''Uhhh, what are you doing?'' Brown eyes spoke up once he saw you climb into his jeep.
''Coming, duh'' I spoke out before piling into the backseat before either boy could argue.
''Why should I help you?'' I listened in now into Scott's and Derek's conversation.
''Because you need me'' Scott is on drugs and this is his meth dealer, great. Allison is dating a total junkie.
''Hey, get him outta here'' Scott says to his friend as he hops into the car.
''I hate you for this, so much'' He turns over the engine and begins to leave the school parking lot. I frown to myself and pull out my phone, debating whether or not to text Ally.
I notice after a few minutes that we weren't travelling in the direction of the hospital.
''You should have taken the turn a few miles back for the hospital'' I spoke up, brown eyes looking at me through the mirror.
''We're not going to the hospital'' he says, then looks like he quickly regrets it. I lean forward in between the two chairs.
''No, we have to go back' I say urgently.
''He'll bleed out and possibly lose his arm! This is serious!'' I spoke again. The boy turns to face me and frowns, shaking his head as he glances over at Derek.
''He won't'' He stiffly replies.
''Like hell he won't, turn around'' I was rarely bossy, but in circumstances like these I was.
''No'' I narrowed my eyes into slits.
''Are you insane? Do you want him to die?'' I ask exasperated.
''He's not going to die...come on!'' He looks at his phone then throws it back down onto his seat.
''Hey, try not to bleed out on my seats, okay?'' I was beyond disgusted at this point. How could Scott be friends with this guy.
''He can't control his bleeding you asshole!'' I yelled. He seemed to ignore me.
''Where almost there'' He speaks.
''Almost where?'' Derek asks, still grunting in pain.
''Your house'' Stiles add.
''What? No, you can't take me there'' Derek sounds like he's becoming worried. I don't blame him.
''I can't take you to your own house?'' I wanted to strangle him. I was about to speak up when I was beaten to it.
''Not when I can't protect myself'' Derek chirps. He quickly swerves his jeep over to the side and and turns the engine off.
''What happens when Scott doesn't find your little magic bullet? hmm?'' Thy can not be seriously talking about making drugs right now. Now Scott was a messenger boy to get drugs or... make drugs?
''Start the car, now'' Derek breathes heavily.
''I don't think you should be barking orders wit the way you look. In fact, I think if I wanted to, I could probably drag your little werewolf ass out into the middle of the road and leave you for dead'' Once again I turned to glare at the boy.
''Start the car, or I'm going to rip her throat out with my teeth'' Just as your mind ha just registered the word werewolf, my eyes widened at this statement.
''You touch her and I'll-''
I feel Derek soon reach for my arm, tugging me forwards aggressively as he pulls my head over the seat. The engine soon starts and my arm is let go, my body jerking back with the car taking off. I try to calm my racing heart as I lean as far back as I can.
''Let me out of this car'' I spoke up in a timid voice. Derek doesn't acknowledge me while brown eyed boy looks at me sadly.
''Let me out of this car right now or I am calling the police!'' I yelled, tears blurring my vision. Derek doesn't flinch whereas the other guy does. He glances down and sadly sighs, shaking his head.
''I can't, not till I get a hold of Scott'' he says it like he felt guilty. I reached for my phone and started dialing 911.
''My dads the sheriff...'' I look up in surprise, my eyes still coated with un-shed tears. It almost started to feel like I couldn't breathe inside this jeep.
''I need you to trust me, ok?'' I stared at him in disbelief. Trust him?
I slowly shook my head, pulling the phone slowly away from my ear. I hung up swiftly and placed the phone onto my lap.
''Thank you'' He rushes out, reaching for his phone as soon as it began to rang.
''What am I supposed to do with him Scott?'' I perked up at the mention of Scott's name. It's silent for a moment before he smells.
''And by the way Avery is totally freaking out here and I have no idea what to do, Derek's smelling like-'' He stops abruptly then doesn't speak for a few seconds.
''Like death'' again, silence.
''What about your boss?'' He asks.
''You're not gonna believe where he's telling me to take you'' He sighs and passes the phone over to Derek.
''Did you find it?'' All this over some petty drugs?
''If you don't find it, then I'm dead, alright?''
''I'm beginning to think that's not such a bad thing'' I murmur underneath my breath but obviously the boy heard me and smiled softly.
''The Alpha called you out against your will. He's do it again. Next time, you either kill with him or you get killed'' My eyes almost felt like they were going to fall out of my head. Alpha? Kill? Be killed? What kind of sick, twisted game was this?
''So if you want to stay alive, find the bullet'' Derek hangs up.
''Wait, this whole time you're talking about an actual bullet? like a gun bullet?'' I only heard the both of them sigh in response.
~*~*~*~*
''Okay, okay'' The boy beside me tried to wiggle out of Derek's firm grasp. He also had his other hand on me, leading me inside the animal clinic. I groaned and realised that I may have just gotten myself into some shit. I was just trying to be nice.
''Can you get your hands off of me Creep?'' I groaned out, trying to shake him off of me. Even in his wounded state he seemed to be stronger than me.
''Look she has no part of this okay? Just let her go'' The boy pleaded with him once he had let us both go. He soon came over and stood right beside me at the opposite side of the bench of Derek. I couldn't control my hands from shaking with fear.
It wasn't till I felt a small arm on my back where I began to calm down a little.
''She's an Argent, of course she's involved in this'' Derek groaned out, ripping of his shirt. If it wasn't for the fact that this guy was indeed a freaking psycho I may have awwed over his perfectly god like body.
''But she doesn't know, please'' The boy beside me begged. He had certainly changed his attitude since the car. For some reason I felt more safe around him then Derek opposite us, that may have been the only reason why I lent into his side.
I heard a phone soon chirp in the silent, the boy quickly reaching for his phone.
''Does Nordic Blue Monkshood mean anything to you?'' The boy asks, now looking Derek straight in the eye as he continuously groaned in pain.
''Aconit Napel bleu nordique?'' I questioned very confused. Derek looks at me as if I just said the winning answer.
''It's rare form of wolfsbane, he has to bring me the bullet'' Derek says, now resting against the bench.
''Why?'' The boy questioned before I could. He seemed to be just as curious as me.
''Because I'm going to do without it'' Derek says seriously. It felt like a chilling shiver was going through my spine with these words. I'm about to watch someone die. It was also the first time I bothered to glance down at his wound. It was making me sick to my stomach.
''You know, that really doesn't look like anything some echinacea and a good nights sleep couldn't take care of'' If Stiles wasn't so worried he would be very proud of the brunette standing beside him.
''Once the infection reaches my heart, it'll kill me'' Okay this was getting beyond freaky for me. I looked down at the table and rested my hands against it.
''Positivity just isn't in your vocabulary, is it?'' The boy beside me sarcastically remarked. We both watch as Derek walks away from the bench and over towards the medicinals.
''If he doesn't get here with the bullet in time, last resort...'' My eyebrows furrowed at this as I'm sure the boy's one did too.
''Which is?'' He asks, Derek searing through all the cabinets trying to look for something.
''You're going to cut off my arm'' I stared wide eyed at the hand saw in his hands. Was this guy insane?
However, brown eyes picked up the handsaw nonetheless and turned it on, the machine coming to life.
''Oh my god! What if you bleed to death?'' I was too shocked on the actual handsaw itself to even move or so anything.
''It'll heal if it works'' Derek pipes up, wrapping a small piece of cloth around his arm as a tourniquet. I squinted my eyebrows in disgust and quickly looked away, not wanting to see any of this. My mind still pondered over the word 'heal' but yet again, I chose to let it creep to the back of my mind.
'Look, I don't know if I can do this'' Brown eyes backed away a little from the table once my eyes were firmly back on Derek.
''I know, that's why she is'' Derek motioned to me once he finished tying the knot.
''Excuse me?'' I asked incredulously.
''No way'' I argued, finding some courage to utter these words.
''All right, fine. How about this?'' Derek began, not glancing at the both of us but mainly towards the boy.
''Either you cut off my arm, or I'm going to cut her head off'' My eyes widen once again at this threat. I slowly begin to creep away from the bench.
''Okay, you know, I am so not buying your threats anymore'' Derek angrily reaches over the table with his good arm and grabs a hold of my dress pulling me forward. He pulls me down right next to his mouth where I began to feel hot air over my neck sending me goose bumps.
I wanted to scream, cry, literally anything to get me out of this situation.
''Oh my god! Okay, fine, all right, bought, sold, I'll totally do it just... let her go'' Derek's grip loosen and I quickly take that as my chance to jump back where an arm quickly snaked around my waist in a protective manner.
Derek begins to lean over the bench to the side and throws up, my eyebrows furrowing in disgust.
''Holy god! What the hell is that?'' I heard him speak up from behind me.
''It's my body. It's my body trying to heal itself'' I rolled my eyes before stepping away from the boy, stepping further back from the scene.
''Well, it's not doing a very good job of it''
''Now, you gotta do it now'' for the second time today my eyes began to tear up in fear.
''Look, honestly, I don't think I can-''
''Just do it!'' Even I jumped a little at his raised voice. The boy picks up the handsaw while muttering to himself as he places it against Derek's arm. I turned my head to the side and looked away, not wanting to see what was about to happen.
''Stiles?'' I rose my head to see the one and only Scott McCall just in front of me. He glanced between all three of us with furrowed eyebrows.
''Avery, what-'' I was sure he was about to question the tears but was soon cut off by his friend 'Stiles'.
''Oh, you just prevented a lifetime of nightmares'' His friend chuckled humorlessly.
''What the hell are you doing!'' Scott yells, walking over towards them. I turn back around and bit the bottom of my lip to try and control the tears. All of this was just, too much.
''Did you get it?'' Derek asks desperately. I quickly wipe away the tears and walk over to them slowly, feeling safer now that Scott was here. Scott the delinquent drug user but still.
''Did you come back with his stash?'' I asked the boys sarcastically but neither of them seemed to pick up on it.
''The drugs, McCall'' I groaned. Scott's eyes widen as Stiles just gestures around the room.
''You really think all of this has anything to do with drugs?!" I glared at Stiles.
''Obviously not anymore!'' I yelled back, watching his face soften a little. Scott shakes his head but soon walks over followed by me. He reaches into his pocket and passes Derek what looks like a bullet.
''What are you going to do with it?'' Stiles asks, myself now standing beside him.
''I'm gonna... I'm gonna...'' Derek's eyes soon close as he falls to the ground unconscious.
''You have got to be kidding me'' I murmured to myself as I rushed over to Derek's body with Scott and Stiles.
''Derek? Derek come on, wake up'' Stiles leans over his body as he tries to shake him awake.
''He's unconscious dummy'' Stiles sighs but ignores me, trying to wake Derek up. Scott, however, runs over where the bullet when and hops onto the ground, trying to reach for it.
''Scott what the hell are we going to do?'' I ask nervously, seeing Derek not even flinching at Stiles hard slaps.
''I don't know!'' Scott answers in a scared tone.
''I can't reach it'' He says more calmly this time, though the nerves were still there.
''He's not waking up!'' I drop down beside Stiles and begin slapping Derek myself.
''I think he's dying, I think he's dead'' Stiles stresses.
''Just hold on!'' Scott replies. I place my hands over Derek's heart and begin to do compression's.
''I got it! I got it!'' Scott bellows as he sits back up with the retrieved bullet.
''Please don't kill me for this'' I hear Stiles mumble to himself as he punches Derek in the face. The both of us jump back as Derek awakens.
''Give me that'' Was the first thing he said as he reached for the bullet. Both Stiles and Scott lift him to the bench as I walk around towards the other side.
Derek chews off the lid of the bullet and begins to tip the contents from inside out. He gets the lighter from the side and lights it up, causing the contents to spark and flare up, leaving a blue smoke afterwards.
''What the...'' I muttered to myself as he soon tips the contents into his wound, pushing it in as he begins to scream in pain. He drops to the ground on his ac and thrashes on the ground as the blue smoke kept leaving his arm. Though the strangest part was watching the wound heal itself completely.
''That. Was. Awesome!'' I turned to give a Stiles a 'what the hell' look. None of this was awesome.
''Sorry'' I heard him mutter as my eyes were now focused back on Derek.
''Are you okay?'' Scott asks as he begins to sit up.
''Except from the agonizing pain?'' I stepped back as he began to rise to his feet.
''I'm guessing the ability to use sarcasm is a good sign of health'' Stiles spoke. Derek glares at Stiles in response. I cower back slightly and took small steps away from Derek, making my way over towards Scott.
''Okay, we saved your life, which means you're gonna leave us alone'' Scott literally growls.
''You got that? And if you don't, I'm gonna go back to Allison's dad and tell him everything'' What does my dad have to do with any of this?
''You're going to trust them?'' Derek made sure to glare at me when he said this.
''You think they can help you?''
''Why not? They're a lot freaking nicer than you are!'' Scott stresses. It looked as if Derek was just slapped in the face with shock.
''Yeah, I can show you how nice they are''

''Jackson, what are you doing here?'' I asked this time, crossing my arms over my chest due to the icy air.
''Nice to see you too, Princess'' He responds with a smirk, a look of annoyance being thrown his way by me and Lydia who was sitting in the passenger seat. I rolled my eyes, pulling my jacket a little tighter over my chest.
''Lydia says we were coming to get you'' I turned to face Allison with a look. Since when was I not informed of this? She looks at me and frowns.
''I was worried, besides Lydia is our friend so-'' Allison cuts herself off once she sees my expression of distaste. I would never in a million years call Lydia my friend, she was the most know-it-all, stubborn...
Now I could see why Stiles had a huge crush on her, I smirked.
''He's only 30 minutes late...'' Allison trails off, moving the conversation.
''You hear that? Firsts its only 30 minutes late, a month later it's 'he only hits me when he's drunk', slippery slope Allison, slippery slope'' I rolled my eyes yet again, pulling my own phone from my pocket to check the time. I only had about 30 minutes myself to get to the hospital for my voluntary shift.
''We're picking you guys up'' Jackson says, reaching over Lydia to open the door. Lydia hops out, pulls her seat down leaving enough room for Allison and I to hop in.
''I'm not going, my shift at the hospital starts in 30'' Lydia turns to me and smiles, pointing to me.
''If only Scott was as time consciousness as Avery'' I ignored her remark, or compliment, or whatever. I could never tell with her. Allison pivots to me with one of her puppy dog smiles, her eyes glinting.
''No, no way, I'm not getting involved'' I put my hands up. Allison still stares at me however, the look not leaving her face. I bit my lip and groan, shaking my head.
''I hate you'' I spoke, eyeing her down. She beams happily and hugs me, thanking me over and over again. She turns back towards Jackson and Lydia with her serious face again, hoping into the car first.
''Just, let me call the hospital then we'll go''
~*~*~*~*
Allison's phone chimes beside me in the backseat of Jackson's Porsche. If you could call it a 'backseat', I could barely sit down.
''Is that him with best explanation ever of why he's half-a-freaking hour late?'' Lydia mocked, glancing at Allison through the rear-view mirror.
''Not exactly'' Allison says, a hint of worry coating her tone. She shows the text message to both Lydia and I, Jackson only taking a mere peek seeing as he was driving. I shook my head, beginning to like Scott less and less.
''Head to the school'' Allison says to Jackson. He simply nods, speeding off into that direction. Once we arrived a few minutes later, Allison and I hoped out of the back, happy to stretch out legs finally. I stretched a little more, letting out a yawn as I glanced around.
''What're they doing here anyway?'' Jackson asks, looking at the school in slight concern.
''They lock the doors at night, you know'' Lydia points out, eyeing both Allison and I. I turn around and spot the opened set of doors not too far from us.
''Guess not tonight'' I pointed, pulling my jacket around me.
''You don't me to state the obvious, right?'' Allison turned to Jackson.
''That it looks like they broke into the school? No that's pretty obvious'' Wait, they?
''What do you mean, they?'' I ask, following both of them up the steps leaving Lydia in the car on her own. Allison stops talking to Jackson and turns to face me.
''Scott and Stiles are here'' I crossed my arms in annoyance once again. Why where these two always in the center of problems in this god forsaken town?
''Do you want me to come in with you guys?'' Jackson offers. I smile at him, appreciating the gesture.
''Mmm, it's okay'' Allison says for the both of us, heading up the stairs. I follow behind her, glancing down to see a pair of bolt cutters holding the door open. That must have been what they used to break in maybe.
''Hey Avrey... Allison...'' We both stopped, spinning around to face Jackson. He glances around, seeing nervous and uncomfortable with what he was about to say.
''You have this look like you're about to say 'Be careful''' I spoke up, feeling slightly shocked to see this coming from Jackson.
''I am'' Jackson admits, handing over the torch to me.
''What?'' He asks, noticing the way we were both looking at him.
''That concerned look on you, I've never seen it before'' Ally speaks, eyeing Jackson a little too much.
''Well, I am concerned'' Jackson speaks, glancing between us both.
''Well, that's a good look on you'' I glance to Allison, frowning a little when I hear her tone. It sounded a little flirtatious. Jackson chuckles.
''Don't worry, we'll be right back'' I turn on the torch and pop it under my chin, doing my best scary voice. We all laughed before Allison and I continued forward, leaving Jackson and Lydia behind. Once we walked down the hallway a little, peeking through the class windows I face Allison.
''What was that back there?'' I ask, hoping she'd get the hint. She frowns but keeps walking on.
''What was what?'' She asks, taking the torch out of my hand to have a look on her side.
''You and Jackson... do you like him or something?'' I ask cautiously, not wanting to tread over anything I shouldn't be treading on. She stops walking and faces me, the torch shining onto the ground.
''No, I just understand him a little better, he's too self-centered for my taste'' I smile in response, glad to know she didn't harbor any feelings for him.
''Why, do you?'' I almost have to catch myself fro stumbling over my own feet.
''God no, that boy is as Big headed as they come'' I reply, taking the torch back from my sister.
''Right... that's right I forgot, it's not him you fancy...'' She trails off with a smirk, still looking through the windows and a few opened class doors looking for her boyfriend and his idiotic best friend. I roll my eyes.
''Why do you think I like someone?'' I was hoping we found them sooner rather than later, save me from this conversation with Ally.
''You just have this look on your face'' This look on my face?
''A look of annoyance? A look of anguish? A look of-'' Allison laughs, cutting me off.
''A look of wonder'' She smiles, not even glancing at me before picking up her pace.
~*~*~*~*
''Do you see that?'' Jackson asks, noticing after a few minutes, a blue jeep in front of them, the hood bent in.
''See what?'' Lydia asks, bored out of her mind as she flips through her magazine. Jackson just looks at her and scoffs, turning back to face out of the windshield.
''That hood on that piece-of-crap jeep looks crappier than usual'' Jackson states, growing slightly worried.
''Where are you going?'' Lydia asks, nerves lacing her words as she notices Jackson reach for the door handle.
''To take a look, stay here'' Jackson says, opening the car door.
''I'm not staying in the car'' Lydia panics, popping her magazine down to reach for her door handle.
''Just stay in the damn...''
''Do not leave me alone in the car!'' Jackson looks at her with a weird look, not getting her mood swing. He sighs to himself, rolling his eyes.
''Fine. God, don't have a meltdown'' Jackson scoffs, hoping out of the car and closing the door behind him. They both walk over to the Blue Jeep, Jackson inspecting the car a little. He reaches his hand out to run them over the scratch marks that were left there. Lydia hugs her coat tighter around her, glancing around in fear.
''Can we get Allison and Avery and leave now?'' Lydia asks, not liking the feeling she was getting.
''What are you doing?'' Lydia asks, watching Jackson step away with his hands in his pockets. He turns and walks straight the steps, into the school.
''Jackson!'' Lydia calls out, running after him.
~*~*~*~*
''Come on, get across, come on'' Stiles calls out to Scott, making sure the filing cabinet was jammed between the wall and the door. Scott quickly leaps over, standing beside Stiles, their eyes shining with fear. Stiles peeks over his shoulder, looking through the window of the door. Scott quickly slaps his shoulder.
''What are you doing?'' He asks out of breath.
''I just wanna get a look at it'' Stiles responded, the bulky, yellow torch in his hand shining everywhere.
''Are you crazy?'' Scott scoffs, reaching to pull his best friend back away from the door.
''Look, it's trapped okay? It's not gonna get out'' Stiles reasons, eyeing Scott before turning around and hoping on the filing cabinet that was laying on it's side. He slowly peeks up through the window with the torch, Scott cursing at Stiles silently behind him. A growl echoed in the hair before all went quiet.
''Yeah that's right, we got you-''
''Will you shut up!?'' Scott panics, reaching to pull Stiles down. Stiles turns to face him and scowls.
''Look, I am not afraid of this thi-'' A loud growl crawled through the air again, seeming louder than the others. Stiles leaped back in fright, the torch shining through the window.
''I'm not scared of you!'' Stiles calls out, watching as the clawed hand pops up then goes away.
''Right, cause you're in there and we're out he-'' Stiles cuts himself off once he hears a loud crash from inside the doorway. He stops and gulps nervously, both him and Scott glancing up towards the ceiling. Stiles shines the light above, hearing the creaking. They both see the Alpha crawl inside the roof, the ceiling looking like it was about go give way due to the weight any moment. Scott quickly grabs Stiles arms and pulls him back the way they came, the ceiling crashing down moments later.
~*~*~*~*
''Scott?'' Allison calls out, the darkness of the hallways creating an eerie vibe. I glance down at my torch and shine it upwards left and right, still seeing no signs of them.
''Ally, we've been looking for over ten minutes, I don't think they're here'' She just turns to look at me and frowns. I felt a shiver begin to crawl up the back of my spine. This place was beyond spooky after sunset.
It wasn't till I reached for Allison that I felt it.
''Be quiet'' I spoke not above a whisper. Ally looks at me, frightened now. I turn the torch light out and see the hallway become dark once again.
''I think we're being watched'' I whispered, not wanting to scare either of us but wanting to inform her. She looks at me then wildly around, panicking. I look around the hall, my eyes adjusting to the darkness. I furrowed my eyebrows, noticing footprints or... paw prints a few feet away.
''We need to find Scott'' She stresses, holding the side of her head. I decided not to tell Allison what I saw, not wanting to freak her out anymore.
''Let's check this way'' And with that we ventured off to a new side of the school, my mind still reeling with the human and animal footprints that were behind us.
~*~*~*~*
''There's one right here'' Lydia speaks up once they went through another set of doors.
''Are you kidding me? You have to use the bathroom now?'' He asks stressed, wanting to find Allison and Avery and leave the school. Lydia just faces him with a duh expression.
''Yes, now. Do you have a problem with me performing a basic biological function?'' Lydia sasses, not bothering to try and cover up her wits.
''You know, I'm starting to have a problem with all of your functions'' Jackson states, ignoring the creepy feeling her was receiving from the hallway and frowned at Lydia instead. Lydia just scoffs and walks into the ladies room, the door closing behind her. Jackson was left alone in the hallway, his eyes darting up and down to see any signs of the Argent twins.
''McCall'' Jackson calls out in slight annoyance, noticing a standing figure at the end of the hallway. Silence.
''Scott?'' Jackson calls out again, this time worry lacing his tone. Fear began to trickle up his spine, his eyes never leaving the non-moving, standing figure.
''Derek?'' He whispers more to himself. Still nothing. Jackson shivered on the spot, his eyes widening. The figure then goes down on all fours, stalking away. Jackson breathes heavily, not believing his own eyes.
''Did you find them?'' Lydia saunters out, gripping her bag. Jackson just looks over her shoulder with fear. Lydia glances over her shoulder as well, not noticing anything. She notices the look in his eye, fear. Jackson gulps, putting a hand up to the back of his head where the scratch marks where left there from Derek.
''No, no'' He stumbles over his words. Lydia grows worried too, wanting to leave as soon as possible.
~*~*~*~*
Allison walked slightly behind me, holding the flashlight. She pointed it around everywhere, even towards the pool. I could tell that it was the fear, literally hearing her shaky breaths from behind.
''I highly doubt they're in here Al...'' I trail off, trying to lighten the mood a little with sass. Allison phones chimes into the quiet air, alerting us both.
''Wait, do you hear that?'' Scott asks, stopping both him and Stiles mid run. Stiles looks at him flabbergasted, not liking how they stopped out in the open like this.
''Here what?!'' Stiles whisper shouts, pointing the torch anywhere and everywhere.
''That sounded like a phone ringing''
''What?'' Stiles asks, calming down a little to focus on his friend.
''I know that ring. It's Allison's phone''

''So you killed her?'' Stiles questioned his best friend as both him and Scott walked into school, though Stiles casually said it as if it was a normal question to ask.
''I don't know, I just woke up'' Scott replied, shifting his backpack on his back.
''And I was sweating like crazy, like I couldn't breathe. I've never had a dream were I woke up like that before'' Scott explains to Stiles in slight worry, wondering if this dream has anything to do with the new... supernatural development.
''Really? I have. Usually ends a little differently though'' Stiles being Stiles piped up, earning a look from his best friend.
''A, I meant I never had a dream that felt that real and B, never give me that much detail about you in bed ever again'' Scott glared over to Stiles as they continued to walk down the busy hallway.
''Noted. Let me take a guess here though''
''No I know, you think it has something to do with me going out with Allison tomorrow, like I'm going to lose control and rip her throat out'' Scott cut him off, staring straight ahead.
''No, of course not'' Scott turned to face Stiles and give him a look.
''Yeah, that's totally it'' Stiles confessed, Scott's head lulling down as both of them kept walking.
''Hey come on, it's gonna be fine, alright? Personally I think you're handling this pretty freaking amazingly. You know, it's not like there's a Lycanthropy for beginners class you can take'' Stiles continues.
''Yeah not a class but... maybe a teacher'' Stiles bit his lip in anger.
''Who, Derek?!'' He shouted, catching a few on lookers attention. Stiles clipped Scott over his head.
''Are you forgetting the part where we tossed him in jail?''
''Yeah I know, but chasing her, dragging her to the back of the bus, it felt so real'' Stiles sighed.
''How real?'' He asked.
''Like it actually happened'' Scott spoke up sadly. The both of them soon walk out the other double doors and both froze in their spots at what they saw. One of the school buses was covered in blood, the back door being half ripped as forensic units and police officers surround the scene.
''I think it did''
~*~*~*~*
''Allison! Have you seen my curling iron?'' I called out from the bathroom. I glanced up and down and searched all cupboards but nothing. I huffed before turning to leave to walk into Allison's room. She wasn't there so I decided to go into her bathroom to see if she had stolen it.
''You could at least ask to use my bathroom'' I smirked to my older sister but continued to rummage through her bathroom for the iron. I smiled in triumph once I found it tucked away underneath the sink.
''Aha!'' I whipped it out and looked over to Allison with a look.
''Technically it's mine'' I just rolled my eyes and walked past her, heading back to my bathroom to plug it in, waiting for it heat.
''Come on you piece of shit...'' I mumbled underneath my breath, noticing the curling iron was playing up.
''Ready to go?'' Screw it. I threw my hair into a low messy bun and walked out of my bathroom after turning off the power switch.
''Your hair...'' Allison commented as I walked down the stairs. I groaned and rolled my eyes.
''I think my curling iron is broken'' I huffed.
''You mean MY curling iron''
''Whatever'' We both laughed before hoping into her car heading, off towards school.
~*~*~*~*
I was too busy chatting to one of my friends when I hear a collision right beside me. With a frown I turn to the side to see both Scott and Allison on the floor, collecting her stuff.
''Clumsy on your feet are we, McCall?'' I sassed, now leaving my friends, which I was surprised I had made seeing it was like only the second day of school, to walk over towards your sister and her guy.
''Something like that'' Scott replies, glancing at me with a look I couldn't really decipher before turning to face Allison again.
''You okay?'' He asked. He was kinda sweet I guess, in a nerdy type of way.
''I'll see you at lunch girl'' Alex said before leaving my side, sending a smile my way.
''Okay'' I replied, ignoring the stares I was now beginning to receive from the school body, mainly the guys.
''Ugh boys are so disgusting'' I exaggerated a little, rolling my eyes at one guy who sent me a wink from across the hallway. Allison looked up at me and laughed while Scott just awkwardly smiled.
''Not all of them are'' She says, obviously referring to Scott. I rolled my eyes once again and glanced down at her and Scott who have now finished collecting her things neatly. They were looking into each others and smiling like idiots.
''I'm going to barf, see you in English'' I said before leaving their side. I took one last look back as I was walking and smiled softly. I'm glad she has someone.
I soon collided with something heavy and almost tripped in my heels when I felt hands quickly snake around my waist, keeping me upright. I turn to face the front and smirk once I saw who it was.
''Hey cutie'' I flirted, watching his cheeks go a crimson red, his arms soon leaving my waist,
''I'm s-so s-sorry, I -didn't-'' I smiled at him which seemed to catch him off guard.
''Relax, I'll live dork'' I rolled my eyes at him, probably making him grow more flustered. I quickly maneuver myself around him and headed over towards my locker.
~*~*~*~*
''She hates me'' Stiles was complaining to his best friend all the way towards lunch. Scott had zoned out after the first minute, not really believing he was talking about someone other than Lydia.
''Or... finds me cute I don't know, she's giving me mixed signals'' Scott sighed before speaking.
''She's Allison's sister dude, she doesn't hate you'' he completed as they made their way to Chemistry.
''How do you know? I mean, for the love of god this... Olive-skinned hottie doesn't even know my name-''
''Olive-skin hottie?'' Scott questioned with furrowed eyebrows and a small smirk.
''Yeah, as in tanned skin, cold as ice, perfect complexion, she has-'' Stiles rambled, taking his seat behind Scott.
''Okay stop, before my ears start to bleed'' Stiles glared at his best friend but dropped the subject.
''Okay well... what about last night?'' Scott sighed.
''That's the last thing I want to talk about right now'' Scott dropped his head.
After a few moments of silence Scott spoke up again.
''Maybe it was my blood on the door...'' Of course he was quiet so only Stiles could hear him.
''Maybe it's animal blood'' Scott turned around to face Stiles with a confused look.
''Maybe you caught a Rabbit and ate it'' Stiles suggested, twirling the pencil in his hand.
''Raw!?'' Scott answered in a 'really' tone.
''No, you stopped to bake it in your little werewolf over, I don't know, you're the one who can't remember anything!'' Stiles replied.
''Mr Stilinski, if that's your idea of a hushed whisper you might want to pull the headphones out every once in a while'' Mr Harris, their chemistry teacher spoke up in front of the class.
''Earphones...'' Stiles mumbled underneath his breath in annoyance.
''I think you and Mr McCall would benefit from a little distance, yes?'' Mr Harris spoke with his hands now on his hips.
''No'' Stiles argued. Harris pointed his fingers and Scott and Stiles sighed, picking up their things to move. Scott soon found himself sitting in front of Jackson. He felt himself beginning to tense.
''Hey, I think they found something!'' Scott ears perked up at the girl beside him as the class rose and all rushed over towards the windows. They all hovered around trying to see what was going on.
''That's not a Rabbit'' Scott spoke up, turning to face Stiles momentarily.
Once the man in the stretcher sits up and yells, everyone gasps and steps back from the window, Scott's eyes widening in realization.
''This is good, this is good'' Stiles tried to calm his friend down.
''He got up, he's not dead. Dead guys can't do that'' Stiles tried to soothe.
''Stiles, I did that''
~*~*~*~*
''But dreams aren't memories'' Stiles countered, walking with Scott hurriedly towards their lunch table.
''Then it wasn't a dream'' Scott said, placing his tray down on the table.
''Something happened last night and I can't remember what'' Scott continues, placing his back on the seat next to him as he sits down across from Stiles.
''What makes you so sure that Derek even has all the answers?'' Stiles asked, now sitting down himself.
''Because, during the full moon, he didn't change. He was in total control, while I was running around in the middle of the night attacking some totally innocent guy'' Scott replied.
''You don't know that'' Stiles bit back.
''I don't not know it'' Scott freaked. Scott glanced to the side and sighed sadly to himself.
''I can't go out with Allison. I have to cancel'' Stiles frowned at this.
''No you're not cancelling, okay? You can't just cancel your entire life. We'll figure it out'' Stiles encouraged, picking up his apple.
''Figure what out?'' I pipe up, hearing the end of their conversation. Cutie's eyes widened as I took a seat next to Scott, Allison sitting on the other side. Lydia took the one at the end of the table while Danny sat next to brown eyes.
''Just, uh, homework''
''Yeah'' I furrowed my eyebrows at their lame save but let it go, smiling over towards Jackson as he came over, sending a smile back.
''Get up'' Jackson spoke to the guy who was sitting next to Lydia.
''How come you never ask Danny to get up?'' The guy whines causing me to roll my eyes in annoyance. I open up my backpack and reach for my lunchbox, beginning to eat. I always hated cafeteria food since being served raw chicken at my third last school in Texas.
''Because I don't stare at his girlfriends coin slot'' I smiled at this and looked up to Danny as he sent me a friendly wink.
''So, I hear they're saying it's some type of animal attack?'' Danny spoke up, obviously referring to the school bus. During class we get an announcement over the P.A from the principle explaining in minimal details of what had happened last night.
''Probably a Cougar?'' Danny wonders aloud to the group.
''I heard Mountain Lion'' Jackson joins. I bow my head down and softly laugh.
''A Cougar is a Mountain Lion... isn't it?'' Lydia speaks, obviously acting dumb. Just another reason why I didn't like this girl.
''Who cares?'' Jackson spoke. I lent back in my chair and looked at the guy across from me who sat in between Danny and Cutie. He stared back and smirked, sending me a wink. I rolled my eyes in disgust and turned my attention away from him.
''The guy's probably some homeless tweaker who's gonna die anyway'' Jackson said without any sensitivity.
''Actually, I just found out who it is check it out'' Brown eyes spoke up, showing his phone to the whole group. I lent forward along with everyone else, watching the video clip.
''I-i-i know this guy'' Both Allison and I turned to face Scott confused.
''You do?'' the both of us spoke in perfect sync. Scott did a double take before continuing.
''Yeah, when I used to take the bus, back when I lived with my dad. He was the driver.'' I frowned and lent back in my chair.
''Can we talk about something more fun, please?'' Lydia spoke in boredom.
''Like, oh, where are we going tomorrow night?'' Lydia asks, turning to face Allison. I frowned and also faced her with my eyebrows furrowed.
Allison gulped on her water and slowly placed it back down in surprise.
''You said you and Scott were hanging out tomorrow night right?'' I gave Allison a 'really' look a she glanced my way before Lydia's.
''Um, we were thinking of what we were going to do'' Allison speaks nervously, glancing at Scott.
''Well, I am not sitting home again watching Lacrosse videos so if the five of us are hanging out, we are doing something fun''
''Five?'' I questioned, turning to face Lydia. She beamed at me and nodded her head.
''You're coming with us too silly'' I gotta give it to her, it did feel like she was being genuinely nice to me.
''Yeah I guess... sounds fun'' Allison still seemed on edge.
''You know what else sounds fun?'' Jackson asked rhetorically,
''Stabbing myself in the face with this fork'' Lydia quickly snatched it out of his had and gave him a stern look. I laughed softly again and glanced across the table.
I watch brown eyes roll his eyes as he drank causing me to smile and laugh slightly more. He looked my way and seem to choke on his water making me laugh more.
''How about bowling? You love to bowl'' Lydia speaks.
''Yeah, with actual competition'' Jackson replies.
''How do you know we're not actual competition?'' Allison sasses back at Jackson with a smile.
''You can bowl, right?" Allison turns to ask Scott. I glance away from cutie over to him, seeing his face drop.
''Sort of''
''Is it sort of, or yes?'' Jackson pushed.
''Yes, in fact, I'm a great bowler'' I had a feeling he wasn't and bowed my head once again, hoping this lunch was going to be over soon.
~*~*~*~*
''Mmm pass'' Lydia sighs, shaking her head. The three of us had been in Allison's room for the past hour watching her go through her clothes finding the perfect outfit for tonight.
''I can't believe I'm saying this but maybe you should wear something of Avery's'' Lydia speaks causing me to smile.
''Nawww, babe'' I mocked towards Lydia but the both of us laughed anyways. Allison just huffed and turned around to face her wardrobe with a frown.
''Okay, let me see'' Lydia stood up and walked over, deciding to go through the wardrobe once again.
''Mm pass, pass, pass, pass.. pass on all of it'' Lydia says as she goes through each top.
''God, Allison, respect for your taste it dwindling by the second'' I tried not to laugh at the whole scenario. Allison was always the better dresser out of the both of us so it boggled my mind that she didn't have an outfit for this group date.
''Hmm, this'' Lydia pulls out a sparkly top for Allison. Allison takes it and walks over towards her wall length mirror and puts it up against her front.
We all hear the door click open as dad enters the room. Allison's eyes widen.
''Dad, hello?'' She questions, though she probably gave him a look.
''Right, sorry, I forgot to knock'' Dad says, slipping on his jacket.
''Hell Mr Argent' I heard Lydia's preppy voice sign as she falls onto the bed. With this I roll my eyes. Just as I was starting to like her...
''Dad do you need something?'' I spoke up, sitting up on the bed as I looked over his face for any signs of anything. I'm an observer.
''I wanted to tell you girls that you'll be staying in tonight'' I groaned as I slumped back into Allison's bed.
''What? We're going out with out friends tonight'' Allison began disappointed.
''Not when some animal is out there attacking people'' Dad, the over protective parent.
''Dad, dad I-''
''It's out of my hands, there's a curfew. No one's allowed out past 9:30pm'' Allison rolled her eyes and threw her shirt onto the bed next to me.
''Hey, no more arguing'' He sternly replied to Allison before sending me a look as well. He turned around and walked out the bedroom door.
''It's not fair, why does he get to go out?'' I whined. Allison turned to face me curiously.
''What do you mean?'' She asked confused.
''He was putting on his everyday jacket, duh, he was heading out too'' I gestured towards the door.
''Daddy's little girls'' Lydia speaks up to both Allison and I.
''Sometimes, But not tonight'' My eyes widened once I saw Allison look over to her closed bedroom door and reach for her beanie. I sat up and stood next to Lydia. We both watched as she walked towards the window and climbed out onto the roof, doing a double flip onto the grass. Lydia's eyes widened when mine rolled. Show off.
''8 years gymnastics, are you coming?'' She whisper shouts from the ground.
''Yeah, I'll take the stairs'' Lydia speaks, allowing me to go past her to also hop out the window too.
''You're not going flip down too, are you?'' Lydia asks.
''I prefer a more subtle approach'' With this I walked over to the edge and bent down. I reached for the guttering and gripped, pulling my body off and then let go, swiftly landing on the ground with no stumble. I wiped my hands against my jeans.
''Let's go''
~*~*~*~*
My date was going horrible. The guy found an excuse to put his hands on body every five seconds. He even had the nerve to show me how to bowl when I already knew how to. He made me lose, big time.
On the other hand I was happy for my sister though. Her and Scott seemed to be having a good time despite Jackson practically being a dick to them the whole night. Once it was my date's turn to bowl again I quickly moved to sit beside Allison. She looked at me slightly worried.
''Are you okay?'' she asked, leaning in to me so that Scott couldn't overhear our conversation.
''Yeah, I'm fine, dickwad over here keep trying to touch me every five seconds though'' Allison softly laughed at the nickname I used but quickly became serious once again.
''It's whatever, let's talk about you'' I quickly threw this conversation onto Allison. I wiggled my eyebrows at her as she began to blush.
''Your date seems to be going extremely well'' She blushed more.
''It has been... one of the greatest dates I've ever been on'' My eyes widen with happiness. I was about to squeal in excitement for her but she quickly hushed me.
''It's not a big deal'' She mumbles.
''It's a huge deal! I am so happy for you Ally'' I lean in and hug her, the both of us smiling. I pull away and glance at her.
''God I envy you, sis'' She looks at me weirdly before I continue.
''You got this whole.. guy think down pat. I've tried since we came here but... all I'm finding is-'' I was cut off by the sound of my date hollering as he scored a strike. Jackson went up and petted him on the back, the both of them doing a bro hand shake thing that was too over the top. I turned around back to Allison in disgust.
''That'' Allison laughs softy.
''I could have set you up with a really great guy'' My eyes brighten at this.
''Who?''
''Scott's best friend'' My eyebrows furrow together in confusion. Allison looks at me as if I had grown two heads.
''You know, the brown haired, skinny guy who is always with Scott...'' She trails off, looking at my expression to see if anything clicks. Nothing.
''He drives a jeep...'' I shake my head.
''He's sarcastic and always staring at you?'' Still, nothing.
''He has brown eyes-'' My eyes widen in realization.
''Oh, you mean cutie?'' I asked. Allison looked at me weirdly.
''Stiles'' She says, leaving me very confused.
''What the hell is a Stiles?''

''Come in!'' I called out to my front bedroom door when someone knocked. I took of my ear phones and stopped what I was doing momentarily once I saw Aunt Kate walk in. I instantly smile up at her from where I was sitting Indian style on my bed.
''Hey kiddo, what's up?'' She asks with a smile.
''Ugh nothing, I have this report to hand in tomorrow and it's kinda killing me'' You closed you laptop and rose off of your bed, placing it down on your desk.
''Do you know what Allison's doing?'' I asked, wondering why she came to talk to me instead of her. I get let off with a warning while Allison got grounded.
''Pining, but I think she's secretly meeting with Scott'' Kate was honest. I looked up at her and smirked, knowing my sister would do something like that.
''And they say I'm the rebellious one'' I joked, Kate laughed a little as well.
''What are you working on, can I help?'' Kate asks, moving towards my desk. I smile and nod, popping open my laptop and reopening the word document and internet tab.
''History project, I have to find something to do with my history and write about it, any ideas?'' I was stumped, my family history was boring. Apart from moving a lot and having family practically all over the country there really wasn't anything to write about.
''Specific to your family?'' Kate leans over me as I sit down in my desk chair.
''Yeah'' I responded.
''Type this in... la bête du gévaudan'' I typed it in word for word then hit enter. I scrolled down a little and read a few sentences.
''Woah, what is this?'' I was instantly curious.
''It's the french legend that might have something to do with your family...'' She trailed off, obviously wanting me to read out a line or two.
''In 1776 in a province of Auvergne, La bete killed over 100 people...'' My eyes squinted to read more.
''Mysterious animal attacks just like a certain town called Beacon Hills...'' She trailed off herself, looking at me and computer screen.
''So, what was it... the animal?'' I asked, not liking the eerie vibe I was receiving from reading this.
''Nobody knows for sure but I can tell you one thing, it definitely wasn't a mountain lion'' I placed my hand on the side of my neck as I tilted my head, staring at the photo that was attached to the site.
''What's it look like to you?'' Kate asks, almost provoking me into finishing her sentences or questions.
''It looks like...'' My mind flashed back to the other day, being in the animal clinic with Stiles and Derek. I shivered at thought, trailing my hand over the goosebumps that rose on my skin.
''A wolf''
~*~*~*~*
Scott could practically smell the anger and irritation rolling off of Stiles when he walking in the classroom. He knew his dad was almost ran over but he wasn't, only Avery. He was mad with himself that she even got hit in the first place but there was nothing he could have done. He was just glad she wasn't badly hurt.
''Still not talking to me?'' Scott asked, already knowing the answer. Stiles bit his lip and rolled his pen in his hand, letting out an angry sigh.
''Can you at least tell me why you're mad?'' Scott had no clue, Avery was practically mean to everyone, including him at times. Scott didn't mind her but hated her attitude.
''Is this about Avery?'' Stiles stiffened at the mention of her name. Stiles wasn't quite sure why he was mad at Scott about Avery. She was a total bitch to him 90 percent of the time. Maybe it was about the other day where he saw a different side to her, maybe it had something to do with the fact that she wasn't all mean, underneath laid a very hurt and possibly broken girl just trying to put up a mask. Stiles sighed again.
''You know I feel, really bad about it, right?'' Scott asked, genuinely meaning it. He never meant for anyone to get hurt.
''Okay... what if I told you that I'm trying to figure this whole thing out...'' Scott speaks, crossing his arms over in thought. He really was, he was still no where near in control of his wolf.
''I went to Derek for help'' Stiles groaned and rolled his eyes.
''If I was talking to you I would say that you're an idiot for trusting him... But obviously I'm not talking to you'' Stiles finally spoke, still facing the front of the room.
The bell rang signalling the start of class. Scott lent down to grab his things from his bags as a few students strolled in. Stiles clicked his tongue a few times in annoyance, knowing his curiosity was going to get the best of him. He spun around in his chair quickly.
''What did he say?'' Scott smiled.
~*~*~*~*
''The what of who?'' Lydia asks beyond confused, twirling her fork in the air absentmindedly. I rolled my eyes but went back to my back, biting into my apple. My jacket was hanging off the back of the chair, allowing some warmth to radiate onto my back.
''The beast of gévaudan.. listen.. a quadruped like monster, prowling the Auvergne over in south daidone, areas of France during the year 1764 to 1767. La bête killed over a hundred people, becoming so infamous that the Kind Louis XV sent one of his best hunters to try and kill it'' Allison reads out. I pop my book down slightly, listening in to their conversation. Why was she doing the same thing? Had Kate talked to her too?
I fiddled with the bracelet on my wrist, admiring the wolf pendant on it. My eyes widen in realization.
This was what she wanted us to find out.
''Boring'' Lydia stated, flicking her fork around not really caring.
''Even the church eventually declared the monster a messenger of Satan'' Allison continued, finding it very intriguing herself. However, Lydia hummed to herself in thought.
''Hmm, still boring'' I stayed quite, wanting to know just how far Allison was going to dig.
''Cryptozoologists believe it may have been a sub-species of wolf predator, possibly mesonychid''
''Slipping into a coma bored'' Lydia rolled her eyes, finally eating what was on her fork.
''While others believe it was a powerful sorcerer who could shape-shift into a man-eating monster'' I tried to hide myself behind my book, really not liking where this was going.
''Avery, does this have anything to do with your family?'' Lydia tried to include me in but all I did was stare back at her, not really wanting to answer.
''This, it is believed that La bête was finally trapped and killed by a renowned hunter, who claimed his wife and four children were the first to fall prey to the creature. His name was Argent'' Allison stated, glancing up from the book with a look of pride.
''Your ancestors killed a big wolf, so what?'' Lydia asks, still not entirely interested. I didn't blame her, it did sound like an old wives tale.
''Not just a big wolf, take a look at this picture'' Allison moved the book in front of Lydia, showing her the picture of the 'wolf'.
''What does it look like to you?'' Allison asks, resting her chin on top of the opened book. Lydia takes a long glance, her eyes not even blinking. I glanced up at her, watching as a fleck of fear wash across her eyes but soon disappeared.
''It looks like a. Big. Wolf, see you in history'' She snaps back to herself and collects her things, walking away. Allison just slumps back and sighs, not even noticing the look on her friends face. Allison folded the book and placed it down, turning to face me.
''Do you think it looks like a wolf?'' She asks me. I glance up and shake my head.
''I think it's just a wolf'' She furrowed her eyebrows at me, not getting my answer but didn't push the subject further. She sighed and leaned back in her chair, finishing off her lunch. I looked over my shoulder and saw Scott and Stiles, Scott failing to hide behind a massive textbook.
Stiles glances towards Avery and Allison, watching as Lydia walks away. His eyes trail her for a moment before glancing back to the table, eyes meeting Avery's. He turns back around, frowning once again when his friends pops the textbook back up over his face.
''I think the books making it more obvious'' Stiles grabs the book and tilts it down so he could see Scott's face as he spoke.
''Besides they're reading anyway'' Stiles says, glancing over his shoulder one more time to make sure they actually were. He turned back around and continued writing down in his book.
''So, did you come up with a plan?'' Scott asks, moving the book slightly to the side.
''I think so'' Stiles responds, biting into his apple.
''Does that mean you don't hate me now?'' Scott asked hopefully.
''No, but you're crap is infiltrating my life, so, now I have to do something about it'' Stiles complains, finishing the rest of his apple quickly.
''Plus I'm definitely a better Yoda than Derek''
''Okay, yeah you teach me'' Scott agrees, not really wanting to speak to Derek at all.
''Okay I'll be your Yoda'' Stiles agrees, glancing down to his book.
''Yeah, you be my Yoda''
''Your Yoda I will be'' Scott just glanced at him. Stiles smiled a goofy grin, liking the impersonation he did of Yoda.
''I said it backwards-''
''Yeah, I know'' Scott cut him off, knowing that Stiles would go on an elaborate tangent otherwise.
''Alright, you know what, I definitely still hate you. Uh aha! Oh yeah'' Stiles swiftly gathered his things and rose from the table. He started walking away causing Scott to panic.
''Stiles!'' He shouted out a little too loudly. Allison and Avery both glanced up from what they were reading and stared.
''Scott?'' Allison asks, watching as he runs out of the cafeteria.
''Scott wait!' Allison calls out again, gathering her own things to follow him. I, however, took a another bite from my lunch, enjoying the peace and solitude without the worry and struggles of relationships.
~*~*~*~*
''I just had the weirdest conversation with Jackson...'' My ears perked up at this. Allison turned her head towards me as we continued down the hallway towards economics. I was friends with Jackson myself but I knew he was a jerk, a grade-A jerk so I was beyond confused why Allison would even want to be around him.
''Why we're you even talking to him?'' I asked her. She sighed and lulled her head back.
''He talked to me, wanting to apologize and stuff'' She muttered, glancing around us as if she was telling me some huge dark secret. I furrowed my eyebrows, not believing this.
''Jackson never apologizes, not even to Lydia'' I stated, hugging the economics book to my chest. We walked in the doorway and over towards our row of seats.
''I know'' Was the last thing she said before turning around to face Scott.
''Let's go! Sit, sit, sit, sit we have a lot to cover today'' Mr Finstock went on and on, getting us to hurry up as the second bell went signally that start of the lesson. I froze in my place realizing the last seat was next to Stiles. I had been trying to avoid him since yesterday, since my outburst at his house occurred. He looked up and just smiled, not even feeling the awkwardness radiating off of me.
''Hey'' Stiles says as I took my seat, plopping my bag and book down.
''Hey'' I responded, turning towards the front to hopefully stop the conversation. I hated that it was awkward, I didn't want to feel awkward around him, I wanted to dislike him as much as possible.
''Ahh I heard what happened last-''
''Please don't talk to me'' I didn't mean for it to be harsh, just blunt. I twiddled with pen in between my fingers, biting my lip as I faced forward. Stiles recoiled at her response, shrinking back into his chair. He had thought that maybe you'd be nicer but he was wrong. He was even upset with himself for even caring about your well being. He couldn't understand you and honestly, he wasn't sure if he wanted too.
''So I'm guessing things are going back to normal, you being a total bitch and-''
''Yep'' Stiles just nodded to himself and lent back in his chair, not bothering to add anything else. He didn't want to admit to himself that deep down, he was disappointed.
''Let's start with a quick summary of last's nights reading'' Mr Finstock states, his eyes scanning the classroom. A few people popped their hands up.
''Greenburg put your hand down, I know you did the reading'' Mr Finstock said with annoyance, looking to pick someone else.
''How about... ahhh... McCall?'' Mr Finstock made his was over around his desk and towards us, crossing his arms over. He lent against the edge of his desk and smirked towards Scott.
''The reading...'' He trailed on, waiting for Scott to continue.
''Last night's reading?'' Scott asks, hoping to get out of this.
''Ah, how about the reading of the Gettysburg Address?'' He asks sarcastically, a couple of students laughing. Scott looks around in confusion.
''What?''
''That's sarcasm, are you familiar with the term sarcasm?'' Scott turns his head towards Stiles, rolling his eyes.
''Very'' Stiles smiles to himself proudly. I turn to Stiles myself and shake my head, letting out a small smile.
''Did you do the reading or not?'' Mr Finstock asks, crossing his arms even more, getting serious.
''Uhhh.. I think I forgot'' Scott admits shamefully.
''Nice work, McCall. It's not like you're averaging a D in this class'' Mr Finstock leans down to Scott to whisper to him as a few classmates chuckle. I bit my lip nervously, not liking the way he was giving Scott a hard time.
''How about you summarise... uhh... the previous nights reading?'' The teacher asks, eyeing Scott. I hear a beeping from beside so I turn my head to face Stiles, noticing him glancing down towards his phone. I lent forward trying to get a closer look.
''How about the uhh... night before that?'' I could hear the Mr Finstock but tried to see the phone screen for myself. Why was Stiles on his phone right now? The teacher was giving his best friend a hard time.
''How about summarizing anything you've ever read, in your entire life!'' He raised his voice. A few classmates snickered, enjoying this. I wanted to roll my eyes at each of them. Unfortunately I lent a little too far and felt my chair stumble, my body moving forward. I placed my hand on Stiles desk and chair to stop myself, only creating a subtle thud. I glanced up to the teacher to see if he had noticed, he didn't, still eyeing down McCall. However, once I turned my head Stiles had whipped around, phone in front of him and his face mere inches from mine.
I gulped. Curiosity is going to be the death of me.
''Sorry'' I quickly lent away, sitting back in my seat in embarrassment.
''No? A book? How about.. uhh.. a back of a cereal box?'' Mr Finstock kept going on. Stiles sighed to himself, knowing this was going to be a bad idea but did it anyway. He nudged my shoulder, gaining my attention. He bought his phone closer so we could both see. While I watched the screen in confusion, seeing the number go up Stiles panicked, gripping his hair.
''What's wrong?'' I whispered, hoping not to gain the angry teachers attention. Stiles just let out an aggravated sigh but watched the screen instead, watching the number reach 160.
''Wait, is that a heart rate monitor?'' I asked, finally realizing what it was. I placed my hand on the phone and took it from Stiles grasp. The almost silent beeping going off like crazy as the numbers kept growing. Stiles glanced up at the back of his best friend, praying to god he wasn't going to wolf out. It was Stiles turn to lean over to Avery, not really giving it a thought that she had taken the phone from him.
''It's going down'' I whispered, knowing Stiles was literally right next to me. Stiles lent back in is chair and glanced around, wondering how he did it. He looked down and noticed Allison's hand in his, running a thumb over. Stiles eyes widen in realization.
However I looked at the phone flabbergasted. Why the hell was Stiles recording someone's heart rate. His own? Doesn't make sense, at this rate he would have almost had a heart attack.
''No way...'' Stiles muttered to himself, not realizing I had heard. I turn to him confused, handing his phone back.
''I have so many questions... but I don't know if I want to know the answers...'' I muttered, growing more and more confused by the second with these two.
''Trust me, you don't''
~*~*~*~*
''It's her'' Stiles says as soon as him and Scott leave the classroom. Stiles had even made sure to peep over his shoulder to make sure Avery wasn't nearby.
''What do you mean?'' Scott noticing Stiles looking around, so naturally he did too.
''It's Allison. Remember what you told me the night of the full moon? You were thinking about her, right? About protecting her'' Scott nodded his head, glancing down.
''Okay''
''Remember the night of the first Lacrosse game? You said you could hear a voice from the field'' Stiles asked, hoping Scott was already figuring it out.
''Yeah, I did''
''So that's what brought you back so you could score, and then after the game in the locker room, you didn't kill anyone, at least not like how you were trying to kill me'' Stiles concluded, using his hands as gestures.
''She brings you back, is what I'm saying'' Stiles adds on once he sees the look of confusion on his best friends face.
''I don't know, it's not always true because literally every time I'm kissing her or touching her-''
''No that's, that's not the same, when you're doing that you'e just another hormonal teenager thinking about sex, you know?'' Stiles mentions, trying to make it clearer. He stops talking once he sees the goofy grin crossing Scott's lips.
''You're thinking about sex right now, aren't you'' Stiles had wanted to slap him upside.
''Yeah'' Scott admits bashfully. Stiles rolls his eyes but continues to talk anyway.
''Look, back in the classroom, after Avery went all weird on me, when Allison was holding your hand, that was different, okay? I don't think she actually makes you weak, I think she actually gives you control, she's kinda like an anchor'' Scott stops Stiles once it clicks.
''You mean because I love her'' Scott doesn't realize what he's said but Stiles does.
''Exactly'' Scott does a double take.
''Did I just say that?'' Stiles had really wanted to slap him now.
''Yes, you did'' It was like pointing out the obvious.
''I love her'' Scott says louder, a huge smile coating his features.
''That's great, now before you go off to write a sonnet can we please-''
''No really, I think I'm totally in love with her'' Scott says, still not getting over the fact. He could feel his heart beginning to beat faster, the warmth in his cheeks spreading.
''Now that's beautiful, but moving on-''
''Do you love Avery?'' This took Stiles by surprise. He knew his friend was basically on cloud 9 right now and probably had no idea what he was saying.
''Do I... what?'' He wanted to make sure he heard him right. Scott just nudged Stiles shoulder still with a smile.
''Do you like her?'' He asks. Stiles stops and stares at Scott like he had grown two heads.
''No, I do not like or love Avery, she's... weirdly complicated and hugely annoying'' Stiles states, feeling a weird sensation in the pit of his stomach. It was weird talking about this, he wanted it to stop.
''Now please, can we focus on the control thing'' Scott seemed to shake out his daze.
''Yeah, yeah sorry, what do I do?'' Stiles sighed with relief to himself, glad to have that conversation over and done with.
''I have an idea''
~*~*~*~*
I pulled my car up into the driveway and turned off the ignition. I hoped out and grabbed my backpack, fiddling with the keys in my hand as I unlocked the front door. I closed it shut behind me and removed my jacket, placing it on the stand next to the door.
''How was school?'' Dad asked, walking past.
''School was school'' I responded with a tired smile. He smiled back and continues on towards the kitchen. I raced up the stairs and over into my bedroom, chucking my bag down on the floor and flopping onto the bed. I let out a comfortable sigh once my head hit the fluffy cushions.
I couldn't help but to let my mind race over the events that happened today. It was a hell of a weird one that was for sure. I bit my lip, thinking about how weird both Scott and Stiles had been acting towards Allison and I. I still didn't get a chance to talk to Scott about the whole Derek thing. Like Stiles said, I was pretty sure I didn't want to know. I rolled over and sighed one again, just wishing I could turn off my brain.
My eyes glanced down to my bracelet, the wolf charm being a constant reminder. I played with it for a little while, letting my mind go elsewhere. It wasn't until I heard footsteps walk past my door that I snapped out of it. They were sneaky footsteps so I knew exactly what they met. I ran up to my door and opened it, noticing Allison with her jacket and boots on.
''Where are you going?'' I asked, knowing Mum and Dad were downstairs probably in the study working.
''Just to the front, I'm waiting for Scott'' My eyebrows furrowed.
''His coming over? I thought-''
''Yeah, Mum said it was fine seeing as we are supposed to be studying for our biology test'' I just nodded my head, not entirely believing her.
''It's freezing outside'' I stated, my eyes glancing out the window to notice the fog on the glass due to the cold.
''I'll be fine Ave'' Allison laughed, walking down the stairs.
''How late is he?'' I sighed, knowing this was possibly the only reason Allison would happily stand outside in the cold.
''Only... 25 minutes...'' She stopped and mumbled. I rolled my eyes and followed her down the stairs.
''You don't have to...''
''Yes I do, if he's stood you up then I am going to kill him'' I stated half serious causing her to smile. We both made it down the stairs and towards the front door, I grabbed the jacket that was hanging on the stand and closed the door behind me. The cold air instantly hitting me as soon as we both stood outside.
''I'm older than you yet you're the protective one'' Ally says with a small chuckle. I laugh as well and lean into her side, wrapping an arm around her for body warmth.
''What are younger siblings for?'' We both laughed and talked about nothing and everything till we saw car lights drive up the driveway. A Porsche was right in front of us.
The only person who drove one of those at school was...
''Jackson, what are you doing here?''

Welcome To Beacon Hills...
EVERY YEAR since as long as I can remember my family has always moved from town to town. It never made sense to me when I was younger, I had friends, sports to attend too, extra curricular activities and family members in the area, but it never mattered. Without fail, every year, we packed up and left our neighbourhood for a new one. My parents never fully explained to either me or my sister why we did this. It was always the same responses.
''Our business is relocating" or "The market is better here". We sold guns to the local fire armoury, the market didn't vasily change between states, not as much as our parents let on. I use to think it was an excuse for our parents to travel the country, exploring every possible city they can. But this time, just shy of my 17th birthday they said this will be the final stop for a while.
This was the 6th time they've told us that.
''You'll love it here, the local high school has nice teenagers, a great academic program and even an archery team, of course, not at the high school but near by'' this had caught my twins attention, Allison. She smiled and weakly nodded, turning her gaze back onto the road. Growing up both Allison and I were interested in sport, hers being archery and mine being Sparing, a dying sport no doubt. Although, I did quite enjoy Archery also, both me and Allison raking second in the state.
''What about a fencing team? A program maybe?'' Mum glanced to me in her rear-view mirror and sighed.
''Unfortunately no, but you and Allison can both take part in the Archery'' yay.
''I don't know, all this moving around, I don't think I am into it anymore, besides, I haven't competed since I was 10''  It was true, both of us had lost interest in our early years, turning to recreational usage of Archery only. But even then it had been years.
''Too bad, you'd both make for great competition'' I smiled towards my mother before glancing out the window myself, slipping back in my ear phones blasting up the music.
''Hey, look out!'' With my twins shout, my attention turned to the front as the car span to the right, dodging something I couldn't see before regaining it's composure.
''Mum you have to go back'' My heart finally began to race at it's regular speed as my head swiveled behind me, glancing back to see what I had avoided.
''No, he's alright'' He?
''Mum, please'' with Allison's plea Mum swiftly pulled the car over in the rain, Allison jumping out of the passenger seat in a hurry. Worried for my twin, I rushed out after her, leaving my phone and earphones behind.
''Avery!'' Mother called out for us after I stepped out of the vehicle, running close behind Allison.
As soon as I caught up with her I stopped, moving the droplets of rain from my forehead as I approached her slowly.
''Ally, are you okay?'' She bent down to pick up something in her hands before we both heard the sound of footsteps approaching the both of us. I watched as Mum tore the item from Allison's grip and march back over towards the car, leaving us both very confused.
''Aroooooo'' I glance up and around, wondering where the sound was coming from. Allison had seemed to ignore it, walking towards the car with her head down.
''Come on Ave...'' She muttered underneath her breath, sounding disheartened. With a final fleeting glance towards the woods, I turned on my foot and followed her, trying to ignore the other howl I heard once I stepped inside of the car.
~*~*~*~*
First day at a new school. It was weird how familiar this feeling had felt by now. I promised myself that this year was going to be different, I wasn't going to stand back and let myself get walked all over again. I was going to prove myself. I stared at myself in the mirror as I fixed my final heated curl, placing it just right on my shoulder before touching up on my blush.
''Are you almost ready?'' Allison asked as she walks into my room, deciding to sit down on the edge of my bed, glancing at me through the mirror. I glance back and send her a rehearsed smile, she gave a 'really?' look back.
''You don't have to do this you know, Avery'' She states, glancing down at her perfectly manicured finger nails.
''Yes I do, This year isn't going to be like the others'' I state with new found confidence, sending myself a fierce smile before turning away to face her.
''This year, I'm going to stand out, I am not going to be a loser anymore''
''You were never a loser Ave...''
''Yes I was, you're my sister, you have to say that'' I said, picking up my bag and placing it over my shoulder. She sent a defeated smile my way before walking over towards my bedroom door.
''Just... don't change yourself too much'' She says in a warning tone. Of course, with her being the eldest by a minute and a half, she always felt the need to protect and lookout for me.
''I promise, sis'' With this I walk past her and down the stairs, out the front door and over towards my own car.
''You're not going to ride with your mother and sister for your first day?'' My father, Chris, asks just before I unlock my car. I quickly shake my head and smile.
''I'm deciding to do things a little differently this year'' I sent Allison a knowing smile before hopping into the car, placing my bag onto the passenger seat as I shut the car door behind me.
Beacon Hills High School here I come.
~*~*~*~*
''It was a wolf that bit you?'' Stiles asks his best friend Scott in disbelief. He almost wanted to scoff at the ludicrous idea.
''Yeah, I heard a wolf howling and everything'' Scott adds, both boys making their ways towards the front of the school.
''No, no way'' Stiles laughs, shaking his head.
''There is no way you heard a wolf howling'' Stiles continues, still shaking his head with a laugh. Scott turns to his best friend annoyed.
''How do you know what I heard?''
''I don't, there hasn't been wolves in California for the past 60 years'' Stiles states. Scott stops walking to turn to face him with disbelief of his own.
''Really?''
''Yes, really'' his friend replies sarcastically earning an eye roll from Scott in return.
''Well... if you don't believe me about the wolf then you're definitely not going to believe when I tell you that I.... found the other half of the body'' With this Stiles eyes light up in excitement.
''Are you serious?'' He asks. Scott just nods.
''Yeah, I am going to have nightmares for a month'' Stiles ignores this, his mind still grasping the concept of his friend finding the body.
''This has seriously got to be the best thing that has ever happened to this town since...'' His voice trailed off as his eyes glued to his long time crush, Lydia Martin. But that wasn't what caught his breath this time. It was the murmuring of everyone else around him. Both him and Scott turned to face the car park to see a new looking car park near the front, a short brunette stepping out of the driver's side, slipping her bag over her shoulder and her hair past her ear as if she was in slow motion.
''Who the hell is that?'' Lydia Martin had walked right past him and he hadn't even noticed. There, just a short distance away was probably the most gorgeous girl he had ever seen in his life. Possibly more gorgeous than Lydia Martin herself.
''Come on or we'll be late for class'' Scott had pulled at his shirt, tugging him along inside the building.
But Stiles found his mind going back to the brunette beauty just a few 100 feet away.
~*~*~*~*
''That was quite an entrance'' was the first thing that came out of Allison's mouth straight after first period. I glanced to her with a smirk, sending a wink a cute guys way as he soon turned to his friend and began to gossip with them excitedly.
''Yeah it was'' I said, flipping my hair dramatically over my shoulder before sending another cute guy a wink, him immediately blushing before glancing quickly away.
All she did was laugh.
''So, I saw you in class with that guy'' I stated, putting my own things insides my locker, grabbing out my advance math book for my next class.
''What do you mean?'' She blushed and glanced down. I smiled.
''Nawww, someone's a little embarrassed'' I decided to tease her jokingly, nudging her with my shoulder before closing my locker. She nudged back before laughing, turning around. I turned around also, slightly frowning to myself once I saw would looked to be Queen Bee walk down the hallway.
''I think I am going to vomit'' I stated in disgust. However, Allison's attention was somewhere else. I hadn't notice till the fake smiled red head approached us both.
''Your jacket is absolutely killer, where did you get it?'' Of course she was only talking to my sister, she hadn't even acknowledged me. I rolled my eyes.
''Our mum was a buyer from a boutique back in San Francisco'' Allison being Allison just had to include me too. I smiled falsely towards the red head, Though I was sure she picked up on it.
''Nice... outfit'' She stated politely, eyeing me up and down. I didn't hesitate to send a scowl her way. Allison quickly turned to me, noticing the look and sent a glare. I rolled my eyes one again but dropped the scowl.
''What are you doing after?'' The red head had decided to glance at both of you, as though she was talking to both of you. I knew she wasn't though.
''Oh nothing we were just-''
''Great, you'll be coming with me'' I had wanted to roll my eyes for a third time at this girl, could she not take a hint?
A chiseled guy soon came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, kissing her cheek while she giggled. I gagged inwardly of course.
''Let me guess, football captain?'' Allison turned to me with a frown as the guy looked up and scoffed, seeming almost offended.
''Football is a joke, the sport here is a Lacrosse, we've won three years in a row'' Wow, boast much? I fake smiled in response, pretending to be interested and impressed.
''Thanks to a certain team captain'' With this the red head smacked her lips against his. I turned my gaze to down the hall, not wanting to see the PDA from them.
My eyes focused on two guys not too far from myself, one talking to a girl as the other lent against his locker, staring at Allison. I smirked to myself.
''Come'' I could feel a slight tug on my wrist, the red head grabbing a hold of me as she lead both my sister and I behind her. I watched my sister as she gave a shy nod to the guy across the hall before walking out the double doors.
~*~*~*~*
It was late, probably just past midnight when Allison finally came home. I was sure I was the only one awake, but I knew sometime dad liked to stay up, though I was sure I was the only one who knew.
''Hey'' I whisper shouted towards my twin, sending a smile. She jumped in shocked or fright but turned around regardless.
''Holy crap, you scared the hell out of me Avery!'' I had wanted to laugh but had to keep my vice down just in case one of our parents were still awake.
''What are you doing arriving home so late?'' I asks intrigued, walking down the steps to see her covered in water. Had she been out in the rain? Though her t-shirt looked completely dry... and new.
''I got... held up'' She was always a bad liar.
''Held up?'' She huffed then sighed, coming clean.
''I had a run in with Scott at the animal clinic'' She stated, walking past me and up the stairs.
''What? Scott? The guy from class and the hallway? Animal Clinic? Does he work there? Why was he there?'' I had always been the most curious out of the both of us. She quickly turned around and hushed me as silently as she could.
''Look I'm tired, can we please talk about this tomorrow?'' Allison said with a small blush covering her usually pale cheeks. I smirked.
''Uh-huh no way, you are telling me what happened right now'' With this, I grabbed her forearm and dragged her up the stairs the rest of the way, leading her into my bedroom.
~*~*~*~*
Allison had a date with Scott! I couldn't have been more happy for her. She hadn't had a boyfriend for a while.
''Are you excited?'' Allison had stared at myself as if I were mad.
''Of course I am! Why wouldn't I be?'' She asked, walking over to her wardrobe to pick out her outfit for the party.
''What do you expect to happen?'' I asked, my interest peaking. She rolled her eyes and sighed but explained for what she hoped for anyway. She only did this because she knew I had never been asked out on a date before. She had always tried to set me up but I had declined each time, feeling bad. I wanted someone to ask me out because they wanted too, not because my sister asked them too.
''Let's wait and see''
~*~*~*~*
I kept my distance, wanting my sister to enjoy her date with her new found crush. She had invited me along obviously, wanting me to attend the party also. I had decided to hang inside, where most of the people where. I took a few too many drinks and danced with a few people I probably shouldn't have but I was having fun.
This was all apart of the new me. I was going to let my past go and move forward, becoming braver, stronger and better than my previous self.
''Damn girl your fine'' A drunk guy slurred as I walked past. I swayed my hips a little more before replying with a devil like smile.
''A bit too fine for you'' His friends laughed at my comeback before I continued further, over into the kitchen to grab myself another drink. Oh if Aunt Kate could see me now.
''Hey Scott, Scott, you okay?'' My ears perked up at the familiar name. My eyes rose forward to see a brown shaggy haired boy grip his head as if he was in pain, going past a scruffy, lean boy making his way towards the front door of this mansion. I had wanted to step forward but as soon as I did I stumbled, laughing at my own drunkenness.
''Let's do shots!'' I smiled and forgot all about this 'Scott', making my way across the kitchen and over towards the backyard once again where I'd find myself standing next to a very confused and hurt Allison Argent.

''He left you stranded at the party?'' I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was the first to be in the car, hoping into the passenger seat as Allison hopped in the back.
''Yeah, I talked to him about it though'' I cringed, seeing the scene for myself not far from the car. She seemed pretty pissed and she had every right to be.
''I'm starting to like Scott, a lot so I gave him a second chance, he really did look like he wasn't okay'' Allison defended. I nodded my head in agreement, remembering vaguely from the party.
''Ready to go girls?'' Dad opened the drivers side car door and hoped in, starting up the engine. I just nodded and popped in my ear phones, blasting up the music while resting my forehead against the window. I managed to catch a glimpse of Scott, the boy my sister is so adamant about.
I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion once I saw the horror on his face, staring straight at the car.
Was he okay?
Dad quickly sped off, leaving my thoughts to disappear to the back of my head as we rounded out of the school parking lot and onto the main road.
~*~*~*~*
''Did you apologise to Allison?'' Stiles asked, noticing his best friends posture leaning against the his locker in the boys locker room.
''Yeah'' Scott replied in daze.
''So is she giving you a second chance or...?'' Stiles continued, feeling bad for his friend.
''Yeah'' again, dazed.
''Yeah! All right! So everything's good!'' Stiles cheered, hitting the locker with his hand before turning to walk away.
''No'' Stiles stopped and quickly popped back around to face Scott.
''No?''
''Remember the hunters? Their dad is one of them'' Scott asked, still looking straight ahead as the rest of the team continued to get ready for training.
''Their dad?'' Stiles knew he was referring to both the Argents, Avery and Allison.
''Shot me...'' Scott glanced down.
''Argent's father?'' Stiles asked, still trying to wrap his head around it.
''...with a crossbow'' Stiles wasn't even sure if Scott was listening anymore.
''Argent's Fat-''
''Yes her father!'' Scott exclaimed earning a few weird looks from a few players off the team.
Stiles glanced at them and weakly smiled, sending them a smile wave as they scoffed and turned around to continue on.
''Oh, my god'' Stiles head swung back around to his best friend.
''No, Scott, come on'' Stiles rushed over and gripped his arm tightly as Scott's face contorted into sadness and panic.
''Hey, all right? he didn't recognise you, right?'' Scott still panicked. Stiles slapped his bicep.
''No, no, no I don't think so'' Scott answered back uncertainly.
''Do they know about him?'' Stiles asked.
''Oh yeah I don't know, what if she does?'' Stiles knew he was referring to Allison.
''Hey he didn't recognise you okay? Just go out and only think about Lacrosse. Here Scott take this'' Stiles quickly popped his gear into his arms before slapping his shoulder encouragingly.
''Just think about Lacrosse okay? Here. We. Go!'' Stiles cheered as he raced out of the boys locker room and out onto the field with the others.
~*~*~*~*
Scott's practice was running pretty heavily, with this new found aggression and anger swirling inside of him he ran over Jackson literally, ramming his shoulder into his. Scott then soon gripped his head tightly, feeling another headache coming on as he felt himself beginning to lose control. He fell down on all fours as Stiles quickly raced over, glad for the fact that everyone else seemed more concerned for Jackson at the moment.
''Woah, woah, woah Scott?'' Stiles asks, his voice laced with worry for his friend.
''I can't control it Stiles, it's happening'' Scott speaks in a pained voice, still gripping his head at the surrounding voices became louder and louder.
''What? Right here? Now?'' Stiles grew anxious himself, glancing over his shoulder as he tried to figure out what to do.
''Come on. Get up, go!'' He instructed Scott as he dragged him back inside and into the boys locker room.
''Come on. Here we go'' He tried to help calm Scott down as he staggered in, gripping the bench as his body began to tremble slightly. Stiles closed the lockers door, hoping for no one to come in or notice their missing presence.
''Sit down okay Scott. Scott, you okay?''
''Get away from me!'' Scott yelled in almost an animalistic voice. Stiles eyes widened in fear as he scrambled away from his best friend.
Scott chased after Stiles with a murderous glint in his eye. Stiles felt his heart pound in his chest as he moved about the boys locker room, trying to get away from Scott. He pounced up onto the beams above and growled down, his eyes shifting into their amber yellow.
Stiles finally made his way over to the front door of the lockers and grabbed the fire extinguisher, opening the door quickly and hiding behind it in the hallway, blowing the extinguisher in Scott's face as he came closer.
''Stiles?'' Stiles was merely confused upon hearing Scott's clear voice, his heart beginning to slow down a little.
Stiles peeked around slowly to see whether it was safe or not. He sighed in relief once he saw Scott glancing back at him with his usual brown eyes.
''What happened?'' Stiles dropped the extinguisher and took off his gloves, sweat trickling down his back and forehead.
''You tried to kill me'' He states 'matter-of-fact'. Scott looked up in astonishment, not believing his words. How could he do that to his own best friend?
''It's like I told you before. It's the anger, it's the pulse rising, it's a trigger'' Stiles bent down in front of Scott as he spoke.
''But that's Lacrosse, it's a pretty violent game if you haven't noticed'' Stiles nodded.
''Well, it's going to be a lot more violent if you end up killing someone on the field'' Stiles spoke half seriously half sarcastically.
''You can't play saturday, you are going to have to get out of the game'' Stiles said in disappointment, knowing how much this meant to him to be first string.
''But I'm first line'' Scott countered, even though he knew Stiles had a point.
''Not anymore''
~*~*~*~*
I loved volunteering at the BHMH already. Today was only my first day and I was surprised by how lovely all the staff members and patients were. I use to volunteer back in almost every town we moved into, finding peace and solitude with the sick. Weird I know, but I could help them. That in itself gave me harmony.
''Jackson!'' What in the hell where the doing here?''
''I'll be a minute'' Jackson replied in his usual jock tone. He really seemed to not give a damn about anything other than lacrosse, not even his own girlfriend. Though with both of them being vile I guessed they belonged with each other.
''Would you like some more water Ms Neville?'' I asked kindly to the old lady in the bed, frowning at her now empty cup and jug of water.
''Oh yes please dear'' I smiled before reaching for them, leaving the room to walk over towards the hospital kitchen.
I noticed a familiar brown haired boy but kept going, receiving Ms Neville's water before leaving.
''Hey Lydia, you probably don't remember me. Um, I sit behind you in biology?'' I stopped in my path and tuned in to what was being said.
''Uh, anyway, I always thought that we had this connection, you know, unspoken of course'' I scoffed under my breath, feeling bad for the poor guy who was saying all this sappy crap.
''Maybe it'd be kinda cool to get to know-'' You walked back out into the open and continued down the hall.
Stiles head pivoted to this side in nervousness, not finding the right words to say. His breath got hitched inside his throat, he drew it down to nerves ut his eyes had found her, not too far from where he was standing. She was walking back down the hallway, excusing herself past people.
What was she doing here?
''Yeah, I didn't get any of what you just said. Is it worth repeating?'' Stiles eyes still remained on her.
''No, forget it'' With that he turned around in a slight daze, not sparing another glance Lydia's way as he turned around to find a chair of his own to wait for Scott to reappear.
''Holy god!'' Stiles shouted underneath his breath in shock once he felt a tap on his shoulder abruptly from Scott.
''The scent was the same'' Stiles rose to his feet.
''You sure?''
''Yeah'' So many thoughts were racing through both their heads.
''So he did bury the other half of the body on his property'' Stiles said with a sigh, figuring it out.
''Which means we have proof he killed the girl'' Scott counters.
''I say we use it'' Stiles says. He sends one last fleeting glance in the direction the Argent walked off into before walking away.
~*~*~*~*
Both Scott and Stiles waited anxiously for Derek Hale to leave his property. Once he did, Stiles drove up to his house and parked, grabbing the gear from the back as both of them made their way to the side of his house.
''Wait, something's different'' Scott stopped in his tracks as Stiles kept going, placing the stuff down on the ground as he whipped out a shovel.
''Different how?'' Stiles asked.
''I don't know'' Scott replies in confusion, gripping his own shovel nervously.
''Let's just get this over with''
An hour later they were both continuing digging, Stiles feeling his arms beginning to strain and tire.
''This is taking too long'' Scott became panicked, sending a fearful look Stiles's way.
''Just keep going'' Stiles argued, continuing to dig.
''What if he comes back?''
''Then we get the hell out of here'' Stiles stated.
''What if he catches us?'' Stiles stops to turn to face Scott in annoyance.
''I have a plan for that''
''Which is?'' And Stiles always though he was the annoying and persistent one.
''You run one way, I run the other. Whoever he catches first, well, too bad'' Stiles joked, yet remained a calm composure as if he was serious. Scott stopped now too to face his best friend with annoyance of his own.
''I hate that plan'' Stiles returns to digging once sending a look towards Scott. He feels his shovel hits something and shoots out an arm towards Scott.
''Wait, stop, stop'' Stiles bent down to remove some of the dirt away as Scott's eyes look down in confusion.
Scott found some knots, trying to untie them.
''Hurry'' Scott says, reaching for some more knots of rope.
''I'm trying, did he have to tie this thing in like a 900 knots?'' Stiles countered back frustratedly. Once the rope was unknotted, both boys removed the tarp before jumping back and letting out a frightful scream.
''What the hell is that!?'' Stiles screamed, glancing at Scott and away from the dead wolf.
''It's a wolf'' Scott said in recognition.
''Yeah, I can see that'' Stiles sarcastically quipped. Scott ignored him and leant forwards, frowning.
''I thought you said you smelled blood? As in human blood?''
''I told you something was different'' Stiles rolled his eyes and glanced around anywhere besides at the dead wolf. Gosh, he could smell it too.
His eyes soon focused on a flower nearby, planted on it's own. That was bizarre. He got up and made his way over as Scott still examined the wolf.
''Do you see that?'' Scott's eyes shot up to Stiles.
''See what?''
''That flower'' Stiles pointed across, Scott following his gaze.
''Yeah, what about it?'' Scott really didn't see what Stiles was trying to get out, he wanted to cover up the.. wolf as soon as he could and call the police.
''I think it's wolfsbane'' Scott stared at his best friend confused.
''What's that?'' Stiles turned his head to face Scott with a scowl.
''Haven't you ever seen The Wolf Man?'' Scott shook his head.
''No''
''Lon Chaney Jr.? Claude Rains?'' Again, Scott shook his head.
''The original classic werewolf movie?'' Stiles couldn't believe he hasn't seen them considering now he was one.
''No, what?'' Scott asks exasperated.
''You are so unprepared for this'' Stiles huffs before continuing on to the flower. Hr grips it tightly and yanks it from the ground, noticing rope wrapped around it's stem. He pulled and moved slowly as the rope began coming out of the ground, more wolfsbane along the rope. Scott stayed back and watched his friend curiously before glancing down into the dug up hole.
''Stiles?''
''Yeah- oh!'' Stiles dropped the rope and rushed over to the hole, following Scott's gaze. He froze, seeing a now dead girl staring back up at them.
~*~*~*~*
I hung my hair towel once I was finishing popping the heavy wet mass into a ponytail. I exited the bathroom and turned the light off, opening the door to go back into my bedroom. I sigh to myself and glanced around my still vacant room. There were still boxes that I hadn't bothered to unpack yet. I wasn't sure if I was ever really going to. I found no use too seeing as we'l move again soon anyway.
My eyes widened once I hear the screeching of tires outside and a loud thud. I race down the stairs and out the front door where Allison was leaning down in front of the car, dad racing out.
''Allison!'' I screamed from behind, hoping she was okay''
''I'm fine Avery'' Allison answered back, her gaze down. I sighed in relief as I slowly approached the both of them, just now noticing Scott on the ground.
''Oh my god, Scott are you okay?'' I ask worriedly, rushing over towards his side.
''Yeah I'm fine'' He sends a grateful smile my way as he grunts and begins to stand up, Allison keeping an a hand on his arm to steady him.
''Sorry I hit your car, I was just coming to say hi'' Scott was sounding way too innocent which made me smile. The brown eyes boy was definitely growing on me. Allison chuckled.
''You sure you're okay?'' dad asks warily.
''Yeah'' Scott was now on his feet.
''I should go, I've got a lacrosse game to get to'' He stated, glancing at Allison with a nervous smile. Them two were absolutely adorable.
''You're still coming right?'' He asks.
''Of course I'm coming'' Allison flirts. I roll my eyes but smile anyway, knowing dad wasn't liking this very much.
''We both are'' Dad cut in, Allison and Scott looking towards him with dropped smiles.
''I'm already going with Allison dad it's okay'' I stepped in, Allison sending me a 'thank you' glance.
''I insist'' of course he does. When he 'insisted' there really was no getting out of it.
~*~*~*~*
(Now without the leather jacket)
I took a seat beside dad in the stands, glancing around to see everyone bundled up because of the cold. I rubbed my arms a little, wishing I had warn something warmer.
''I told you to bring a jacket'' Dad states with disapproval.
''I didn't know it'd be this cold'' I countered back, glancing around to soak everything in. Allison just sat beside me nervously. I noticed her hands trembling slightly, though I knew it wasn't from the cold.
''Are you okay?'' I ask, concern for my twin. She turns to me and smiles nervously.
''Yeah, just a little anxious'' You smiled and reached for her hand, letting your body warmth soothe her a little.
''Thanks''
''Allison?'' You looked up and frowned once you saw Lydia Martin. Her hands were full of two massive posters, both of which referred to Jackson. I rolled my eyes and let go of Allison's hand as she smiled and offered Lydia to sit with us.
''Be nice'' Allison nudged my side and whispered quietly. A whistle blew in the distance and soon everyone began to cheer. I guess this was the start of the game.
~*~*~*~*
The game was brutal. We were behind by two and you could feel the tension rising in the air. I even found myself beginning to cheer alongside Allison and Lydia.
There was another harsh collusion and I cringed.
''Is there supposed to be this much violence in Lacrosse?'' I asked aloud.
''Not really'' Lydia replies, reaching for one of her signs. She asks Allison for helps and she happily does so. Both of them stand an hold the sign up. My gaze drifts over to the field where I spot Scott, the only guy not to receive the ball tonight. It almost looked like as if they were deliberately not passing to him.
I saw the heartbroken expression on his face and frowned to myself. My eyes continued drift as the crowd cheered once again. I glanced down towards the bench where the other players were and came across the number 24, Stilinski.
I tilted my head to the side as I recognized the buzz cut. As if he could sense my gaze the boy turned around, his eyes widening slightly once they saw me. I smiled and waved, biting my lip softly as I took in his features.
He was cute.
He looked away nervously. I smirked.
Maybe this year wouldn't be so bad after all.

I parked the car in front of the address. There were two reasons I was here, one about the whole birthday fiasco to see how much he knew and b... Whatever I happened to be apart of the other day. Everything needed to be sorted out and cleared, I wasn't going to be scared or hide from it anymore, this isn't who I am now. I am completely different, I am stronger, meaner and simply not pathetic like the old Avery. This one knew what she wanted and if anyone was going to stand in her way, good luck to them.
I pocketed my car keys and strolled up to the door, knocking a couple of times. A few moments went by before the door swung open revealing a police officer in uniform. The sheriff as I recalled. I was beyond nervous in front of any police officer, especially a sheriff.
''Hi, sorry for randomly coming over, I was just wondering if I could speak to Stiles for a moment?'' I smiled and tried to show I wasn't nervous. I kept on telling myself I was here for Stiles and to set things straight. He seemed to look at me in shock, taking a few seconds to register what I had said.
''Uhh, sure come in'' He invited me inside. I smiled to him in thanks as he began popping on his jacket.
''Follow me'' He led the way up the stairs and towards a closed door. I could hear harsh whispering from the other side but remained my expression impassive.
''Stiles?'' The Sheriff, Noah, knocked. The door flung open seconds later, Stiles eyes seeming to be wide and alert. it took him a few moments before he noticed me standing next to his dad.
''A-avery, what are you d-d-oing h-here?'' He stuttered out flabbergasted. He knew that if you were here it was not going to end well for him. You hated his guts in his eyes.
''She came here to see you'' Noah seemed to be surprised at this. He had only ever heard her name brought up a couple of times but each time they were he would hear Stiles rant about her. Saying how much she annoyed him and how sarcastic she was. He smiled to himself though, secretly enjoying that Stiles was getting a taste of his own medicine.
I stepped into the room once Stiles moved away from the door. I walked in and let my eyes skim over the place, a typical guys room was all that I concluded.
''So, am I going to hear good things at this parent conference?'' My ears perked up at this, I had totally forgotten all about it. As they continued talking I quickly whipped out my phone, sending Allison a message reminding her. We both had to be present seeing as we were new.
The door closing snapped me out of my thoughts.
''W-why are you here? H-h-how did you know where I lived? What-'' I turned around and glared at him, he immediately fell silent.
''You know exactly why, and the how was easy, too easy'' I smirked and walked over to his bed, sitting down with even asking. I was trying to make him uncomfortable and it seemed to be working, good.
''What the hell was with that little stunt in my locker?'' Stiles was confused for a moment before he remembered. He scoffed to himself, finding her unbelievable.
''You're upset about the card? Really? it was a birthday card get over yourself-'' I angrily hopped off the bed and strode towards him, making sure to get close. He gulped visibly and shrunk back, like he was afraid of me. I frowned to myself, not wanting that reaction but kept going regardless.
''I keep my personal life private, you ever pull a stunt like that again and you will regret it, this is your only warning'' I spat, eyeing him down. He could tell how angry I was.
''I-im s-s-orry, I thought that-''
''That what? I would thank you? Because you and some other girl knew my birthday? Why does everyone assume it's something that everyone wants celebrated? Not everyone likes their birthday, you know? Some people hate it! Some people hate the memories that come with it!'' Woah slow down there, don't you think you're revealing a little too much?
''Some people hate the fact that they are a year above everyone else, some people hate it when false accusations are thrown in their face every year. Some people hate the things that happened on their birthday! Some people just simply detest their birthdays!'' I finished and my eyes widen, I had revealed too much. I was so angry that I just couldn't stop myself. Mr Annoying, however, seemed to compose himself and stared back at me confused, not seeming angry in the least or even uncomfortable anymore.
I took a step back, vile rising in my throat at my recent outburst. I haven't lost it like that in a very long time. I was slowly becoming unhinged again and it was all because of this stupid town. I needed to leave, leave town for a while and clear my head.
But soon I could hear the thumping of my own heart in my eyes. My breathing was becoming rapid and shallow. My vision was becoming a little blurry, the beating in my chest beginning to hurt. My eyes welled up, knowing what this meant. I hadn't had one in almost a year, why was it happening? I thought I had control over this. It was just another thing for people to torment me about, another thing for them to hang over my head.
I could barely feel the slight pressure on my shoulder, softly pushing me until I was sitting down on the bed.
''Look at me, Avery'' The voice sounded distant but I knew exactly who it belonged to. Great, I was having a panic attack right in front him. He must think I was so pathetic now, that I was never a strong-willed or tough girl at all. I was losing it in front of a stranger and I couldn't stop myself. A stranger who I had grown to dislike quite quickly.
''Look at me, you need to hold your breath'' I felt my face being tilted upwards, two hands on my cheeks. I could barely make out that he was standing in front me as I was sitting down.
''Count to five slowly, follow me'' He seemed to know what to do perfectly. He was't making fun of me or tormenting me at all. I was surprised, maybe he was going to use this later. That was probably it, everyone always did at some point.
''One...'' I tried to follow his counting, trying to match my breathing to his. He was breathing calmly and slowly, trying to get me to do the same. The room was slightly spinning, my head feeling heavy as I almost felt like falling back.
''Two'' Again the same thing, I matched my breathing to his better this time.
''Three'' I was beginning to feel my heart rate slow down, the wetness of my eyes beginning to dry away as my body began shaking less.
''Four'' I was able to breathe more calmly now, the headache that was beginning to form subsiding.
''Five'' With one more breath I felt my heart go back to it's original rate. My hands were still and the headache now gone. My eyes were clear and were able to glance at the boy in front of me, his hands still cupping my face. I could notice his brown eyes with flecks of gold in them. His dark freckles and moles adorning his face. His lips which were slightly parted but nicely plump and pink. I closed my eyes and took a few more deep breaths, making sure I wasn't going to faint.
''Thanks'' I breathed out in relief. I knew this was going to bite me on the ass later but for now I needed to stay calm.
''No problem'' He spoke awkwardly, swiftly removing his hands from my face. The warmth instantly left which saddened me a little.
''How did you know what to do?'' I found myself asking, looking up at him. He tried to advert his eyes from me, growing uncomfortable once again. It seems I had approached something I maybe shouldn't have.
''I used to get panic attacks'' This shocked me. How did this sarcastic, know it all, pain in my ass get panic attacks?
''You did?'' I asked curiously. I knew he didn't feel comfortable talking to me, at all but I was really interested. Here I was thinking I knew him down pat. Maybe that's what I get for stereotyping.
He turned around to face the window before speaking.
''I used to get them a lot when I was younger, not so much anymore'' He stopped short, not wanting to say any more. I didn't push him either, it wasn't like we were friends or anything. And this definitely doesn't change the way I feel towards him, he was still a huge pain that I wanted nothing to do with.
''I'm sorry'' I was apologizing? I never did this, only to family and even then that was rare. He seemed shocked too, turning to face me confused.
''I never thought I would ever hear those words leave your mouth'' I scoffed jokingly and smiled, laughing a little.
''Well don't expect me to ever again, that was a one off'' I joked halfheartedly. He smiled and laughed a little himself, the awkwardness seeming to lift slightly.
It was silent for a few moments, both of us not really knowing what to say or do. I wasn't even sure if I was angry at him anymore.
''And I am sorry about your whole birthday thing'' I looked up and softly smiled, appreciating his honesty.
''I didn't know that... you didn't like it'' He chose his words carefully like he didn't want me to go off at him again. I shook my head.
''It's okay, you didn't know...'' I left my sentenced and looked up at him, watching him for reaction. If he really knew he'd look guilty but he didn't, he just seemed sincere. Maybe I was worrying over nothing. The first sign of my past coming up and I lose it. I needed to get past my old life and start my new one with no regrets.
''But asides that, what the hell is going on with Scott and that Derek bloke?'' You were blunt, beating around the bush was never your style. He gulped nervously, eyes darting everywhere but you. What the hell was he supposed to say? There was no way you were going to believe him, and especially with your parents being supernatural hunters, he couldn't risk his best friends life. So he decided to say the three words he knew you wouldn't believe but would hopefully take.
''I don't know''
~*~*~*~*
''Where is your sister?'' Was the first thing both Mum and Dad asked me as soon as I pulled up at the school entrance. I had tried and tried texting and calling her but she never picked up, I only hoped she was going to be back before me. I hadn't really thought up a good enough lie yet.
''She isn't here?'' I tried to act as if I had no clue. They both looked at each other then back to me, knowing better. I shook my head and laughed to myself, pretending to have forgotten.
''She wasn't feeling well so she decided to stay home'' Again, they glanced at each other, communicating with their eyes.
''She wasn't there'' I furrowed my eyebrows in fake confusion.
''You didn't check her room?'' I asked, trying to advert the attention to them to try and better my lie. They both just shook their heads and began walking into the school.
''We'll speak to her later'' Dad had sounded angry so I knew my lie did not fly. We walked into our science class first, Mrs Greene (Don't actually know her name) greeting us three with a warm smile.
''Hi, you must be Mrs and Mr Argent'' She raised and shook their hands politely. Mum and dad smiled back before taking a seat next to me.
''Allison and Avery are great students, both incredibly sweet girls, and very quick to adjust despite all the moving around'' This wasn't our first rodeo.
Mum and dad however smiled at each other, liking the good things they were hearing so far.
''We know it's hard on them but ah, it's a necessary evil'' Dad spoke up with a warm smile.
''Necessary or not I'd be prepared for some... how do I put this...'' She seemed to try and mark her words carefully, not knowing us well enough to fully explain herself.
''Rebelliousness?'' Dad seemed to be talking mainly to me when he said this but I just shrugged, owning it. Mum took his hand and gave it a soft squeeze.
''We appreciate the concern but we have excellent relationships with our daughters, very open and honest'' I already knew that was horse shit but kept my mouth shut anyways.
''I'm very glad to hear that, let her know that I hope she's feeling better'' I advert my eyes to anywhere but the other three people in the room. Great, Allison and I were going to be in so much trouble.
''She wasn't in class?'' Dad asked, facing Mrs Greene. She tilted her head back and smiled.
''Oh, she wasn't in school'' Motherfucker.
~*~*~*~*
Dad was beyond furious once we left the building. He hadn't said a word and neither had mum, knowing that I was lying to both of them and Allison was no where to be seen.
''Allison, answer your phone now before your grounding arrangements reach biblical proportions'' I wanted to roll my eyes but didn't. I saw Allison's car not too far away in the lot, her and Scott looking a little freaked. I tried to make my way towards them before mum and dad could but failed.
''Kate hasn't heard from her either'' Mum spoke up, placing her own phone away. Dad turned to me and sighed angrily.
''Allison never does this, she's not rebellious, it's Avery that pulls stunt like this, especially around-'' Dad cut himself short once he realized I was still with them. I knew I had been difficult to deal with in the past, it wasn't a secret.
''It's okay, Dad. I'm sure she's fine'' My eyes drifted over her to car.
''Excuse me, you're not Allison's parents are you? I'm Scott's mum and I hate to say this but I can't get a hold of him either'' Mum and dad both scowled at her while I smiled. She seemed genuine and sweet enough. Now I could see where Scott got his manners from.
''You're his mother?'' Dad says with venom. I turned to him and glared, she didn't deserve that.
''Dad-'' I tried but he cut me off with a warning glance.
''Funny how you say that like it's an accusation'' She stood up for herself, I was happy about that. Our dad could be a dick at times, like now.
''Well I wouldn't claim it as a source of pride as he practically kidnapped our daughter'' I rolled my eyes, already over my dads flare for dramatics. Now I knew where I got my sarcasm and drama from.
''How do we know skipping school wasn't your daughter's idea?'' I couldn't help but to stifle a laugh receiving yet again another glare from my parents. Oh how right she was.
''My daughter...'' Dad begins, falling short once he sees Allison and Scot hop out of Allison's car. He sighs to himself and lets goes of some of his worry.
''Is right there'' He watches as Allison approaches, her head bowed down.
''Where exactly have you been?'' We could hear Scott's mum raise her voice in the distance. I felt a little bad for Scott in the moment but knew it was none of my business to get involved. I perked up once Allison reached us, a guilty look adorning her features.
''Allison, get in the car'' Dad speaks, not leaving any room for disagreement. Allison just nods and walks back the way she came, the rest of us following suit.
This was going to be a fun trip home.
''Ahh!'' We all turned around to the sound of some people beginning to shriek and scream in fright. I stiffened slightly, the loud sudden noises shocking me a little too much. Mum wrapped an arm around my shoulder knowingly, pulling me closer to her. She rarely ever showed affection but did when it was important.
People began running and screaming, hoping into their vehicles and zipping out of the parking lot way too quickly. I left my mums side and walked over to Allison, seeing as she now stood beside Scot worriedly. Scott glanced around, trying to use his supernatural senses to see what was going on.
It wasn't until a growl was heard in the air that the panic really set in. Dad had left our side to go to the car. Mum ushered both Allison and I over, leaving Scott.
I heard the growl again, this time closer and moved and into the middle of the parking lot. The noises started becoming too much, the screaming and the shrieking, the cars speeding off as well as a few car alarms drifting through the air. It was happening again. My chest was constricting, not getting enough air in my lungs. My breaths becoming labored and short. I felt a pair of hands on my shoulders, shaking me but I was too panicked. The familiar screams and shrieks from two years ago plaguing my mind.
''Avery'' My name sounded distant.
It wasn't until I saw the Sheriff in front of a car, holding his gun out for the animal. I noticed someone hop in the car, turning the engine on.
''Look out!'' I found enough air to scream out into the night. Without even thinking I raced over, my legs running extremely fast considering I felt like I was going to faint any moment. I managed to push him out of the way just in time before the car lights came on, the driver speeding towards me not slowing down.
''Avery!'' I could hear my mum call out before I felt the car hit my body, sending me backwards. I collided harshly with the tar road, my back and left arm aching badly. I closed my eyes and winced when I could smell a little bit of blood. I glanced down to make sure nothing was broken. I was fine, just a few scraps and bruises luckily.
BANG! BANG!
Two shots were heard loud and clear in the atmosphere. I winced at the sound, feeling it echo in my head over and over again. I rolled over and began sitting up, the sheriff rushing towards me to help as well as my mum.
''Are you alright?'' Noah asked, making sure I was okay. He looked guilty and wished it was him instead of her.
''I'm okay'' I breathed out, feeling my body was calmer then before, probably due to the fact I was just hit by a car probably shocked my system. Though, if the Sheriff was with me, who shot the animal?
I stood up on my own and my eyes widen once I see dad holding  what looked like a pistol, the cougar in front of him laying in a pool of it's own blood. My dad just popped away his gun quickly once Sheriff looked over towards him.
Everyone stopped screaming and shrieking and walked over towards the dead beast. I followed closely behind, holding my left arm as I stood close behind Dad, glancing at his jacket where he placed the gun back into.
What in hell was going on....
