Deanna is the fridged wife from the tragic backstory of your good ole adventurer, and they meet in frigid wastes. Except this time, it's her story, and coping with the decisions made by this person, to return what was lost to this world, though she was at peace. And, yet, she came at his call.
The setting, the word choice, everything feels painfully symbolic and I really can only applaud the whole thing.

:{ A video file is embedded. [Location Unavailable], Aspertia. 12/11/23 5:15pm. }:
Twilight has begun to settle heavy in the sky over the nightlight house, a cold breeze running along the planks and rustling the pumpkaboo hanging lights still weakly flickering along the awning, never quite taken down from last season. Small flakes of snow reflect the lavender light as they drift downwards, casting a strange quietness to the scene.
Two figures can be seen leaning against the back porch railing, a couple feet apart, but with a familiar enough air to them. The shorter figure is easily recognized as Amy themselves, white lab coat pulled around them and brown hair blowing in the breeze. The taller man however is entirely unfamiliar, long blue hair and a mask of freckles surrounding his brown eyes, and distinctly a deep purple bruise around one eye. There a friendly air about him as he gestures with the cigarette in his hand.
"Yeah sure I can do that, but what do you want with it? I mean besides the obvious thing of course. What interest does some discontinued TM hold for you, hm?" There seems to be a real curiosity in it, though if its about the request itself or the person in front of him is unclear.
Amy hums tunelessly and takes a drag of their own smoke before replying. "Ah well- if things go well it'll be helpful for a side project I was hoping to work on, but that depends on my ability to get some old tech working and that isn't exactly my strong suit." They laugh lightly, glancing over at the taller man.
This seems to spark some interest in the man, a slight tilt of the head as he leans in slightly. "Oh? Would you mind if I took a look? I've been told I'm pretty good at things like that. Good with my hands you know." There's a humor in the words, and he ends the sentence with a wink.
This does make Amy laugh a bit, "So I've heard. I've been told the same you know, just that wires and such was never my forte'." Amy hums a moment, seeming to consider something for a moment before continuing. "What do you think is the most secure place in this house?"
The man pauses, thinking. "Hm? Oh that would be the computer room, easily.. Why?"
"I bet you 1000₽ that I can get in there in under a minute." Amy's smirk is met by a sudden grin from the taller man who takes one last drag from his cigarette before putting it out in a nearby ashtray.
"You're on, Wild Days."

For the WIP game, F Trio thing? :3c Also naming your files with the first letter(s) of the fandom is a neat way to organize~
Thank you!! This file is a little Frankenstein project combining a few other drafts together. I have a lot of thoughts about the RGB trio's first meeting -- I started writing them out in So Be It, but I made the mistake of planning too much and overwhelming myself, effectively killing the fic 😔 I have some draft fragments in that doc of their first meeting, lots of scattered Lukas notes here and there, (and uhhhhh some scenes buried in self insert writing too adfggh). My plan is to piece them all together to one coherent story about the trio, and I've started in a fresh doc to write the intro so I didn't get distracted:
There are no friends in war. Lukas had known this from a young age, and he knew it now.
You may gain allies who share in your cause. You find yourself loyal to superiors, or looking after subordinates. You stand side-by-side with some in the heat of battle. You risk your life with others. But you call none friends. Looking closely, you share little but your cause. You are bound by duty to one another, and it can truly be a binding. You may fight alongside others, but when the adrenaline of war always subsides – and it always subsides eventually – you have nothing in common but the blood on your hands.
Lukas certainly knew about the latter. The last battle left him scrubbing the stains from his arms, glad the red was undetectable in his already dark clothing. Still without a proper set of armor, his exposed skin was stained up the forearms, reaching to his elbows.

@auroradicit sent: "But that’s life. One minute you’re on top of the world, the next minute some secretary’s running you over with a lawn mower." Because if you're gonna tag Theia you get to deal with her
"Okay," Rhys says coolly, "I know that's, like, Hyperion standard" -- with the caveat that Hyperion's a company where the CEO would send you out the airlock for talking out of turn at a work meeting -- "but that can't be the norm... everywhere.
"Or, well, I don't want it to be the norm. It won't be the norm with me." He pinches the bridge of his nose. "...hopefully. A lawn mower?
"That's unnecessarily graphic."

Echo Frame: Moving Alexa into my glasses.
Due to cervical stenosis (Spinal Cord compression) I partially lost the use of my right arm (my good hand), Although the post-surgery recovery is a long and arduous process, I have retained barely sufficient functionality to hold on to my job, so let’s talk about my favorite subject: gadgets.
Being an amazon fanboy has certain setbacks, one of which is being, literally surrounded by Alexa. She is in my phone, TV, earbuds, Bluetooth Speaker, Tablets 0 and a bluetooth speaker + tablet crossover, (Echo Show), so do I need to move Alexa into my glasses? Absolutely!
Echo Frame is basically a glasses frame combined with Bluetooth earbuds that connects to a smartphone, Bose also released their own version of Smart Frames that reportedly produces better sound quality, but it has neither Alexa nor the deep 70% price cut on Amazon Prime Day, so sound quality be damned, I work for a non-profit; which, incidentally is probably why Alexa wouldn’t marry me, but I digress!
The advantage of an Echo Frame is that it eliminates the need for a set of separate earbuds. After fitting it with prescription lenses, the Echo Frame has turned into the best pair of glasses I have owned and I have been wearing glasses for 40 years, I have been wearing it since October this year and have not broken it yet, so it’s fairly durable.
The downside is being a glasses frame, there’s not a lot of real estate devoted to batteries. It only lasts for 8-12 hours per charge, on the other hand it only takes 1 hour for a full charge. Nonetheless I guess having lost partial use of my right hand, combining a pair of glasses with Bluetooth earbuds does make my life a little easier.
