Hello everyone and happy Friday! I’m continuing to get better post COVID and here is part two of my birthday book haul to celebrate! 😁 I’ve never heard of The Guest House before but it arrived in a little pamper box from one of my besties outside IG. The author has been described as “dark, compelling crime writing of the highest order,” so that works for me! The Gallows Pole, Glimpses Of The Unknown and The Driver’s Seat were from my mum. I’m especially excited for The Gallows Pole, I’ve been meaning to read this author for AGES. It’s a true story of resistance that combines poetry, landscape, crime and historical fiction, a rarely told alternative history of the North. Glimpses Of The Unknown - Lost Ghost Stories does what it says on the tin. This book joins my British Library Tales Of The Weird. Now I just have to find time to read them! 😂 The Driver’s Seat is a classic little novella by Muriel Spark. It promises to be an “unnerving journey into the darker recesses of human nature.” Yes please! A Tree Grows In Brooklyn and Little were bought for me by bestie Janel from @keeperofpages A Tree Grows In Brooklyn is the tale of young, idealistic and sensitive Francie and her bittersweet formative years in the slums of Williamsburg. Finally, Little is a wry, macabre and unforgettable tale of an ambitious orphan in Revolutionary Paris, befriended by royalty and radicals who transforms herself into the legendary Madame Tussaud. Lu 📚✅ - Les Ferailleurs Tome1 Le Château de Edward Carey Univers très spécial, au début ça surprend mais on s'y fait et une fois arrivé à la fin et bien finalement on en veut encore !!!
