sim jaeyun - best friends or more?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
plot: you and jake have been friends for a while now. you two got along quite well, maybe a little too well.
it all starts to unveil once both of you start seeing other people, while you‘re the one who tries their hardest to hide their feelings, jake doesn’t hold back at all.
word count: 965
tw: swear words, kissing, mentions of hooking up
"what do you mean, you‘re going on a date again? this is the third time…" jake groaned, causing you to roll your eyes at him as you‘re trying to find something decent to wear in the depth of your closet. "yes the third time in like what… a year? unlike you i don‘t just jump into bed with every girl i meet." you laugh as he sat down on your bed in shock.
"i would never do that. speak for yourself. you‘re the one who decided to hook up with jay… my fucking best friend. you know how fucked up that is?" he almost yelled at you. you slowly turned around, making it look almost too dramatic, before half yelling back at him.
"i did NOT hook up with him, however why would that matter to you anyways? why do you always care so much about any guy i go out with? please let me have one date without questioning the guy before even meeting him."
jake got off the bed, grabbing his bag that he left on the side of your bedroom door, before heading towards your apartment door.
"go ahead, get heartbroken. i‘m not gonna cheer you up this time…" and with that he slammed the door closed.
you hated jake. you loved him but you hated him with a passion… sometimes.
he would always get mad whenever you were around other men, especially the last few months. to other people it was very obvious that the tension between you and jake was not because you two worried about each other, you two found it hard to cope with the feelings you had for each other.
but he had you wrapped around his finger, as always.
as soon as he left, you sat on your couch, curled up in a ball as you texted your date that you had to cancel last minute because you were feeling sick and to your luck, the guy was not having it, instantly blocking you with nothing else but a 'ok lol' reply.
maybe jake was right after all, maybe all that men wanted from you was only one thing. maybe you shouldn’t go on dates.
as the evening has passed, a shower and two episodes of gossip girl later, you found yourself still on the couch, fetus position and wrapped in your favourite blanket, however the sound of your door unlocking has caught your attention.
"why are you here?" a familiar voice asked. you raised a brow at the dark haired man, hanging his jacket on your coat hanger. "uhm… this is my apartment, i could ask you the same sim jaeyun?" he chuckled as he made his way over to your couch, sitting down next to you before resting his body close to yours, to pull you into a somewhat cuddling position. "i came to apologise for my behaviour, sometimes i just get so angry when… you know… you talk to other guys when i should be supportive. you deserve a man who treats you well - even though i don‘t think any man deserves someone like you, you‘re an angel - but yeah… i think i just need to get over it." he smiled, causing you to smile back at him.
he was gorgeous, the light of the tv on his face making you stare at him in awe.
"i ditched the guy and then he blocked me, you were right jake."
he jumped of the couch and fist bumped the air, muttering a little 'i knew it' before sitting down and faking a frown before patting your back.
"poor little (y/n)… damn, what an asshole."
you hit his arm before pushing him off you, starting a play fight with him while curses kept leaving your lips.
"well since you‘re free tonight, maybe we should hang out? we could order food and watch your favourite movie… like a date but not actually a date you know… just so we can cheer you up, nothing more." he suggested, making you roll your eyes at him. "i was planning on asking heeseu-" before you could finish your sentence he cut you off. "don‘t you fucking dare, angel. i will beat the shit out of you both. jay was one thing but heeseung is a whole different story. if that man lays a finger on you i will explode." he spat, causing you to laugh. "why? he‘s hot. i‘d love to have him touch me." you replied, making jake ironically chuckle. "exactly. i have no chance compared to him."
you looked at him confused. you kinda knew what he meant but you wanted to hear him say it. "what do you mean by that jakey?" you batted your lashes at him. he scoffed, grabbing your face in one hand, before slowly moving it from side to side. "stop acting innocent, you know i like you." you giggled, playfully hitting his arm once more. "i like you too jakey! that‘s why we‘re best friends!"
at this point you were just playing with him, you wanted him to say it first, you didn’t wanna be the first for once.
he shook his head in disbelief, he knew you too well, especially the way you kept looking at his lips. he knew you weren’t just waiting for a response.
"stupid." he mumbled as he leaned in to close the gap between you two, pressing his lips against your, while gently holding your cheeks in his hands.
"so so stupid." he kept mumbling, between every kiss.
"the most stupid person i know." he kept on going, which caused you to laugh against his lips. "pretending to not have feelings for me." you rolled your eyes and grabbed his face to push his own closer. "shut up jaeyun and continue kissing me, dumb ass."

DCMK Blu-rays
A list of Detective Conan and Magic Kaito content with physical HD releases.
This won't be comprehensive by any means; I'm going to be focusing on Japanese, German, and United States releases because these are the ones that I own and am most familiar with. I believe that many of the films are also available on Blu-ray in several countries, dubbed in several languages, but I don't have much concrete knowledge about that at this moment. Please feel free to add any information!
That said, the main thing to know about Detective Conan Blu-rays is that... they kind of don't really exist. The television series is (mainly, more on this later) released on DVD only in Japan, usually with the equivalent of four episodes per disc, sold at 4,620 yen each. They're grouped in "Parts," with up to 10 Volumes per Part, and the next release, on June 23rd, will be Part 31, Volume 3, containing episodes 1007, 1008, 1010, and 1013.
A handful of episodes are released on Blu-ray via collections in Japan; there are the Treasured Selections and Akai Family TV Selections. But with a series running over 1,000 episodes, it really is just a handful of episodes available in these collections.
Treasured Selections
Tumblr media
With the Treasured Selections, you can get 67 episodes on Blu-ray:
1: "The Roller Coaster Murder Case"
2: "The Kidnapping of the Company President's Daughter"
54: "The Game Company Murder Case"
128: "The Black Organization: One Billion Yen Robbery Case"
129: "The Mysterious New Student"
176-178: "Re-Encounter with the Black Organization"
226-227: "Battle Game Trap"
230-231: "Mysterious Passenger"
258-259: "The Man From Chicago"
271-272: "Hide, Hurry Up, and Abbreviate It"
277-278: "English Teacher vs. Great Western Detective"
286-288: "Shinichi in New York"
307-308: "The Remains of Voiceless Testimony"
309-311: "Contact with the Black Organization"
338-339: "Four Porsches"
340-341: "The Hidden Secret in the Toilet"
343-344: "Convenience Store Trap"
345: "The Confrontation with the Black Organization: The Coincidence of the Two Enemies on a Night with a Full Moon"
346-347: "Look for the Mark on the Buttocks"
361-362: "Teitan High School Ghost Story"
425: "Black Impact! The Moment the Black Organization Reaches Out."
427-428: "Super Secret School Zone"
429-430: "The Point of No Return"
462-465: "The Shadow of the Black Organization"
484-485: "The Whereabouts of the Black Picture"
491-504: "Red and Black Crash"
507-508: "Blind Spot of the Karaoke Shop"
509-511: "Conan VS Double Code Mystery"
However, anything before 286 is not in HD; these are all traditionally animated episodes that were not especially remastered for these releases:
Tumblr media
Episodes 286 and beyond (from Treasured Selection 6 to 18) are digitally animated, and these Blu-rays are more properly HD:
Tumblr media
Akai Family TV Selections
Tumblr media
With the Akai Family TV Selections, you can get 33 episodes on Blu-ray:
563-564: "The Detective Squad vs. The Band of Robbers"
578-581: "A Red Omen That Summons Danger"
675-676: "Not Even a Millimeter of Forgiveness"
699-700: "Shadow Closes in on Ai's Secret"
701-704: "Pitch Black Mystery Express Train"
724-725: "Thief Kid and the Blushed Mermaid"
779-783: "The Scarlet Return"
785-786: "Taiko Meijin's Match of Love"
836-837: "The Unfriendly Girls Band"
861-862: "Just Like a 17 Year Old Crime Scene"
863-864: "The Spirit Detective's Murder"
866-867: "The Traitor's Stage"
881-882: "The Magician of the Waves"
Other Japanese Blu-rays
Tumblr media
Beyond these, the TV-original specials Episodes 804-805 ("Conan and Ebizo's Kabuki Juhachiban Mystery") and Episodes 965-968 ("Kaiju Gomera VS Kamen Yaiba"), plus the canon Episodes 927-928 ("The Scarlet School Trip"), are also available on Blu-ray.
Finally, special edition Blu-rays for Movies 17-25 include a second disc containing the movie's tie-in anime episode... but that second disc is likely a DVD, speaking as someone who doesn't own any of these but does own the Japanese special edition Blu-rays for Movies 14 through 16, where the second discs are, indeed, DVDs.
German Blu-rays
Tumblr media
Outside of Japan, Germany is currently releasing boxed sets of the Detective Conan series starting from Episode 1. At this time, these are the only physical releases of the remastered footage (which make a big difference), and they include Japanese and German audio (but any German-dubbed songs are omitted). Three boxes are available now, covering Episodes 1 to 96 (or 102 with the international numbering); a fourth box is set to be released on May 19th, covering up until Episode 122 (or 129 with the international numbering).
Do note that these releases edit the name boxes in a way that can't be turned off, however.
Tumblr media
Films, Specials, and Magic Kaito
Tumblr media
In Japan, there are Blu-ray releases for:
Films 1-25
Both Lupin crossovers
The Disappearance of Conan Edogawa: The Two Worst Days in History
Episode One: The Great Detective Turned Small
Magic Kaito and Magic Kaito 1412
In Germany, all of the same content is available on Blu-ray. There's also a Blu-ray release for The Scarlet Alibi, and I believe that they're the only ones with a physical HD release of Gosho Aoyama's Collection of Short Stories as well.
In the United States, there are Blu-ray releases for:
Films 19-23
Both Lupin crossovers
Episode One: The Great Detective Turned Small
As far as I'm aware, there are no HD releases anywhere of the OVAs. They're available on DVD in Japan, either separately or via four "Secret File" compilations (though these only cover OVAs 1-9).
There also aren't any HD releases of the Magic/Bonus files, but DVDs are included with the Japanese special edition versions of Movies 12-16. They're also available for individual purchase in Japan as well.
TV Specials 1, 2, and 4 (with 3 being the Lupin special, 5 being The Disappearance of Conan Edogawa, and 6 being Episode One) seem to be DVD only, too. Actually, I'm not sure if TV Special 1,"Time Travel of the Silver Sky," is available on disc at all? But TV Special 2, "Black History," is said to be included with the Japanese special edition DVD of the second live-action drama special, and TV Special 4, "Fugitive: Kogoro Mori," is included on the Part 24, Volume 7 DVD.
TV Special 7, "Love Story at Police Headquarters ~Wedding Eve~," might be included on Blu-ray in Japan with the special edition of Movie 25, but I can't confirm if that disc is a Blu-ray or DVD right now (and the same goes for The Scarlet Alibi, included with the special edition of Movie 24 in Japan).
The eight VHS-only Shogakukan Illustrated Encyclopedia Series tapes are obviously not available in HD, either.
Tl;dr?
So, in short, combining releases and eliminating the not-remastered Treasured Selections, you can find 186 episodes on Blu-ray right now (with more on the way with the fourth Detektiv Conan box). You can also get all of the films and Magic Kaito series, plus a few specials, in HD.
And I think that's all I've got! Feel free to add more information if you know any! I am desperate to physically own more HD DCMK content.
EDIT: I've done some more digging, and from what I can tell, starting with Movie 24, the Japanese special edition Blu-rays for the films changed the bonus second disc from a DVD to a Blu-ray instead. This means that Episode 1,002, "The Beika City Shopping Center Garbage Bin Mystery," included with the special edition of Movie 24, as well as Episode 1,039, "The Flying Jack-o'-lantern," included with the special edition of Movie 25, are available on Blu-ray, too. So, a more accurate number of episodes that have been released on Blu-ray (in HD) at this time is actually 188. Further, this confirms that The Scarlet Alibi and TV Special 7 are also available on Blu-ray in Japan.
Additionally, though I have provided a couple of links throughout this post, the Detective Conan World wiki deserves a bigger shout out than I initially gave; their "Collectibles" page, and particularly their "Japanese Blu-ray" article, were a huge help in compiling the information laid out here. Many, many thanks to the contributors.
And while I'm here, for those interested in English-language releases specifically, Magic's Detective Agency is a fantastically detailed resource for every DVD released by FUNimation (Volumes, Season Sets, and Films). They're not HD releases, true, but at the time, they're the only physical releases of any episodes and the first six films in English.
Finally, I also discovered that a fifth Detektiv Conan box is set to be released on July 21st! This should mean that remastered episodes up until 145 (or 155 with the international numbering) will be available on Blu-ray, and it bodes well for these releases to continue. Hopefully, there will be physical releases of the remastered footage in other countries, too!

It is physically impossible to hang onto the wing of plane as it flies. The speed would fling the stowaway off immediately, as on average, commercial planes usually fly at about 575-600 mph (925-965 km/h)
On average, they fly about 31,000 to 42,000 ft in the air
The higher the plane goes, the less oxygen. At about 20,000 ft, the stowaway will have somewhere around and 5-12 minutes of consciousness. At 30,000 ft, that decreases to only 1-3 minutes.
That being said, of course there's always the chance of dying from hypoxia because the person hanging onto the wing of the plane is in an atmosphere lacking sufficient oxygen.
So, let's entertain the idea that Chris is just flying way lower and way slower than what he's supposed to fly at, which is the most logical answer. If a plane goes too slow, it can stall, which means that the wings are no longer generating enough lift to keep the plane in the air. This can lead to a crash. If Chris was flying slow enough for Ezekiel to be able to hold on, the plane would've immediately crashed. As for if he was flying low enough, every shot that shows the exterior of the plane in the sky shows the plane in the clouds (I skimmed through all the episodes to confirm this), therefore that would pretty much be out of the question.
My conclusion? Ezekiel is quite literally the strongest character on the show + he doesn't need sufficient oxygen to have full, useful consciousness, and I think he should be treated as such.
Or it could just be cartoon logic.
But I like my conclusion better.

I’m talking about these two scenes bc dammit I love tragic best friends
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In scene A, Cory uses the dream sheep to get access to a dream where nothing went wrong and all of his friends are happy. This dream ends up hijacked by SCP 990 and the dream versions of his friends guilt him until he’s brought to 990’s plane.
In scene B, Hooper goes for a nap (for the first time since his cyborg enhancements) and is faced with Cory, who simply says that Hooper betrayed him. Hooper doesn’t feel guilt towards this, and instead punches the glass Cory appeared in which leads him to SCP 990’s plane of existence.
VERY similar scenes on the surface, dream gets hijacked by 990, 990 decides to use guilt to bring the persons awareness to their dreaming
Simple
But there’s so much more than on the surface.
First off, let’s go over Cory’s dream
He requests a dream from the dream sheep where all of his friends are there and happy. In this alignment, we do not see Hooper. When being guilted, he shows clear remorse and attempts to rationalize his actions.
Hoopers dream is quite different.
His dream is not something he requested to have through a specific SCP, however it was still influenced by one. SCP 965 appeared in the window in Hoopers room during this dream, and upon seeing 965, he punches the glass. After the glass is broken, A dream version of Cory appears, guilting Hooper. Hooper shows no remorse, and attempts to attack Cory. This does not work and Hooper is instead given a clear access to SCP 990’s plane.
Hooper appears to not regret his actions towards Cory in any way, so why does this dream apparition of Cory appear in the first place?
You might say it was SCP 990 trying to get Hoopers attention, but why do something that Hooper feels no guilt towards?
We all know that dreams are telling of the subconscious. So I argue that this is Hooper subconsciously trying to regain a semblance of control.
Hooper feels regret, but it’s actively being suppressed by his cyborg enhancements. Of course we all know this, but the fact that Hooper was trying to fight against this says so much more.
Cory on the other hand, feels clear remorse to everyone who guilted him in his dream.
But Hooper wasn’t there.
SCP 990 didn’t even bring in Hooper to amp up the guilting, because it wouldn’t have worked.
In later episodes, Cory continuously shows that he is more angry at Hooper than he is guilty for shooting him. Hell, we never even see if Cory feels guilty about that. Yet Cory keeps trying to fix up what happened, even when he hears that Hooper’s going to die soon.
It’s called into question by Dr. Patience if Cory still sees Hooper as a friend, and we never receive a clear answer.
They are TRAGIC and I love it.
Anyways five other people in this fandom how we feeling

Podcast #965: Night Visions — Understand and Get More Out of Your Dreams
When you really stop to think about it, it’s an astonishing fact that we spend a third of our lives asleep. And part of that time, we’re dreaming. What goes on during this unconscious state that consumes so much of our lives, and how can we use our dreams to improve our waking hours? Here to unpack the mysterious world of dreams is Alice Robb, the author of Why We Dream: The Transformative Power of Our Nightly Journey. Today on the show, Alice first shares some background on the nature of dreams, why their content is often stress-inducing, and how they can influence our waking hours, from impacting our emotional health to helping us be more creative. We then turn to how to get more out of our dreams, including the benefits of keeping a dream journal and talking about your dreams with others. We also get into the world of lucid dreaming and some tips for how you can start controlling your dreams. It's time for my 2000th post celebration!
It has been a lot of fun getting to this point! Thanks to those who have stuck around over the years and to newer followers as well.
Rather than making this purely focused on One Piece, I thought it may be fun to look back at the beginning of this blog, and give a bit of spotlight to the transitions it has been though up to this point.
I began this blog back in April of 2020, mainly out of an interest in keeping up with artists who were creating AU fan comics of Steven Universe, a show I began while it was in the middle of airing its fourth season, and caught up to soon after. Three fan comics I especially enjoyed reading were a White Diamond Steven AU by Chekhov, a comic where Steven has a sister(Twiniverse,) and a special shoutout to makingfriendos/court and snidy for being a great source of joy and whimsy with their SU art back then, being the creators of one of the first fan comics I really delved into.
The comic they worked on, Steven Universe B-Sides, focused on the trio of Lapis, Peridot, and Bismuth being Steven's guardians and is a joy to read. Captured the essence and humor of season one very well.
In fact, one of their drawings is the origin of the original name of this blog "showergelfan." Sourcing to a lovely doodle they drew of Peridot not understanding human cuisine and thinking that a shower gel recipe was acceptable for human consumption.
Moving forward a bit to September of 2020, Steven Universe had finished airing a few months ago and I shifted into mainly focusing on Amphibia and Owl House around the time, both shows having very active fan bases during their runs(shoutout to the-lone-witch-and-secret-room for being a cool and friendly presence within the Owl House fandom during the show's air.) Amphibia especially resonated with me for its humor, characters, and fun to explore world. Frogs being one of my favorite animals gave it a boost too.
A few other cartoons found their way into the mix as well, namely Hilda and Infinity Train. Both also good shows which I still recommend. I didn't explore fan works for these shows as much I did with Steven Universe, though enjoyed them all none the less.
Then finally, around August/September of 2021, I began the most recent and current focus towards One Piece from then on, with the name switch to fallensnowfan and greater attention to Kiku and friends happening in July of 2022. Being in part due to discovering the blog of cool friend basedkikuenjoyer around that time. Hi!
Going to conclude this celebration post with a small section dedicated to the much anticipated episode 1084, directed by Kenichi Takeshita, and the episodes he has worked on previously:
935 - Komurasaki's true identity is… 949 - Udon Prison liberated 965 - Whitebeard versus Roger 980 - Jinbei arrives 998 - Shinobu and Sanji rescue Momonosuke 1018 - Zoro scars Kaido with Enma 1039 - Tama flips the Beast Pirates to our side, and Who's Who backstory 1067 - Big Mom's fall
Tomorrow's episode, 1084 will be about an "untold story from before the Straw Hats' departure," and I am very excited to watch!
