Can I just say that the atla animators were absolutely genius when it came to family resemblances?? At first, I thought Azula looked like Ursa, but then I saw pictures of her without makeup, and she's basically ozai's twin??
Overall they emphasized her sharp features so much to the point I literally only see ozai when I look at azula.
The expressions, the frown lines, the lips, the hairline?
(look at their eyebrows here, they're basically copies)
Like it's actually crazy how accurately they got the characters to look different but similar at the same time? They both have the same sharp edge to their eyes aswell
Even with makeup, over here, they have the same frown lines on their forehead and scowl like in the exact same way?
I'm never shutting up about how well the designs look
Look, it’s my girls! My dumb dumb girls
[Image Description: digital drawings of Rangi and Kyoshi from the novel Avatar, the Last Airbender: The Rise of Kyoshi, written by F. C. Yee, recreating the meme with mugshots of Barbie and Ken. First drawing is of Rangi in her Fire Nation soldier uniform, standing in front of the mugshot suspect wall, with a furious expression on her face. Her jaw is clensed tightly and her brows are furrowed. She’s holding a letter board with two hands, with “Earth Kingdom Police Department, Rangi, 919 - 72, Ba Sing Se” written on it. Second drawing is of Kyoshi in her Avatar outfit with the same background as Rangi’s. Although her body is facing left, her head and eyes are turned more to a viewer. She has a nervous expression on her face, smiling with an open mouth. There are drops of sweat rolling down her face. She’s holding a letter board with one hand, with “Earth Kingdom Police Department, Kyoshi, 919 - 72, Ba Sing Se” written on it. End Description]
People often fear getting this card because they take it to mean that literal death is in their future - but that is not the true meaning of this card at all. In actuality, this card deals with endings, transformation, and letting go. Drawing this card is a signal of release. Perhaps you've been holding too tight to some phase in your life that is coming to a close, just like Katara clings to her mother's death. By confronting Yon Rha, she's able to release the hold her grief has had on her - and release her anger at Zuko, to start a new chapter. For Zuko, this signifies an end as well: in many ways, his support of Katara on this revenge tour is the ending to his long arc of shame and rejecting his true destiny, and it allows him to be fully, finally, accepted into the gaang.
When you draw this card, remember that endings, scary as they are, often carry a great potential for good.
