So after watching Love in the air, Don't say no and Tharntype, we've all noticed that Mame always has a character that is traumatised from abuse in some form. And a lot of people including myself criticised her writing for always being kind of toxic. But not until recently with LITA and reading from other groups of people's point of views did I realise that her writing is probably like therapy for her.
Hear me out especially for people that love hating mame:
1) AT LEAST ONE CHARACTER IS TRAUMATISED/ABUSED
We all know this and I'm not saying it's true but there's a level of depth (from the reading parts of the books that have series) that can only be attained by someone who has either gone through abuse of that form or something similar OR seen it happen OR the side effects of it. But either ways there's a close to home connection or feeling to it. There isn't always a realistic feeling to how the trauma is dealt with but I'd say the general need to write the trauma/pain away is high.
2) THERE IS THAT PARTNER THAT IS PERFECT CHARACTER WISE FOR EACH TRAUMA
Type had Tharn and honestly I can't really defend this one because I feel regardless of the amount of times I watched it, I missed a lot of clues on how they really work. So I'll leave this alone
Fiat had Leo. Fiat was should I say abused by his mother in the no one will ever love you but me way. I don't know if they makes sense but if you watched it I think you'd get it. His dad was not the best he honestly neglected him and moved on while the poor boy was struggling and hardly ever had a nice thing to day about Fiat honestly. Then enters Leo. Leo is caring, attentive, patient and all that good shit. He gives Fiat the security he needs, become the only person Fiat trusts more than himself, protects him nd shows him time and time again that regardless of what the world is doing he'll always choose him and stay by his side even if iteanr being unhappy just so Fiat is happy.
Sky has/will have Prapai. Sky was abused by his ex and many others under his exes supervision. Assaulted and thrown aside by someone that always told him he loved him. Love is all Sky wants, someone to lean on. His parents are hardly around and I don't think his parents are ven together. He has taken all that abuse with the trauma and people pleases with a smile while keeping everyone at arms length. He won't let himself fall in love or even like someone because his ex has fucked that up for him. Then enters Prapai. A man used to getting what he wants easily but not getting immediately, he's intrigued and persistent. By the book, he becomes everything sky needs to the point Sky feels at ease with him and loved.
That said and done I feel Mame's writing is a way self soothing or like manifesting or re-writing a very real story around her or one that involves her in a way that it gets a happy ending. In a way that abused and traumatised soul finds someone that puts all the broken pieces together. Something that I feel sometimes victims tend to need but hardly ever find.
It's simply put "a fantasy for the wronged"
I COULD BE COMPLETELY OFF THE MARK BUT THATS JUST HOW I SEE IT NOW FROM WHERE I'M AT.

BL/QL Ask Game : The Ugly, the Bad and the Worst
I was tagged by the lovely @waitmyturtles for this game! Thank you! It was fun! Admittedly though, it has been very difficult for me to pin down some of my answers. I know that there are definitely more bad BLs/QLs that I've managed to forget about (thankfully), so this is what I managed to come up with off the top of my head.
I'm learning as I'm doing this that I am much more equipped to talk about what I like compared to what I don't like, so apologies for unintentionally side-stepping some of these questions, haha.
*Original post can be found here
Worst soundtrack / weirdest song choice in a BL -> This might be an unpopular opinion, but the part of LITA where Payu sings to Rain stands out in my mind, because it just felt so forced in and uncomfortable. I also watched 2gether a long time ago, but I remember feeling like some of the singing just felt...off. I always find singing in BL cringey to some extent, so it's hard for me to judge any song fairly because I'm too busy squealing in agony.
Most cringe-inducing line (cute) -> To keep it recent, I'll say "Without wind, how can a windmill spin?" from Dangerous Romance, because it's so on the nose, but I'll admit it is endearing. The wind/windmill thing is giving me MAME, LITA flashbacks, and I'd just prefer to avoid those cliches altogether.
Most cringe-inducing line (actually bad) -> As I said above, I'm sure there are many more I could pick out with time, but the one standing out in my head is "If you don't have sexual intercourse within 2 hours, the poison will spread to your internal organs and you will die." For reference, this line comes less than a minute into the first episode of Tonhon Chonlatee. Suffice to say, I promptly closed my computer screen and that was the end of that. (I love Khao but they failed him here.)
Most stupid decision made by a character -> For Leo to give a single flying fuck about Fiat in Don't Say No. I know this sounds harsh, but I have such disdain for Fiat's character. All he did in TT season 2 and Don't Say No was whine...and yet Leo still liked him? He still wanted to be in a relationship with him? I'm failing to see what it is about Fiat that attracts him.
Worst plot line -> There are a lot of contenders here, but SCOY was pretty bad and ultimately pointless. And I don't think I've ever cringed harder for an extended period of time.
The most problematic show you've watched -> The fact that I'm going to put TharnType above KinnPorsche speaks volumes. At least KP was self-aware and eased us into the problematic content. TT didn't hold its punches at all.
A show people love but you find bad -> For me, it's probably A Tale of a Thousand Stars. Bad is a strong word, because I wouldn't say it was bad...it was just boring. I was really into it for the first couple of episodes, but the longer it went on, the more depthless I found Phupha to be. There was actually a point I remember thinking that Tian should be with Longtae instead. And thus my love for Khaotung was born.
A show people find bad but you will defend -> I'll say KinnPorsche too, because I also think it was a cultural reset for Thai BL in a lot of ways. I know a lot of people found Love Mechanics problematic, but I personally really like YinWar's chemistry and found the storyline compelling enough, so I'll defend it for that.
A show that is just objectively bad but you enjoyed it -> War of Y? Not sure if this counts since I didn't finish (but I'll give myself a pass since it does cover a bunch of different couples, so it's basically like several shows all in one). I think it had the potential to say interesting things about toxicity in the Thai QL industry, but it just...didn't? Or it tried to, but it ultimately fell flat. Anyways, the part that I watched (BillySeng's storyline, I think) was entertaining enough.
A bad show that you kept watching because you were intrigued/fascinated -> TharnType. I was fascinated to see if either of the leads (but mostly Type) could possibly get more annoying/problematic. Spoiler alert: they could.
A bad show that you kept watching because you were horny -> Hmm, maybe Big Dragon?
A bad show that you kept watching because of that one character -> This is so hard because I don't think Until We Meet Again is a bad show, but the first thing that popped into my head was Win and Team, mostly Win. I was getting annoyed with the main plot, but I looked forward to seeing my man Win whenever possible. (Plus BounPrem are cute together.)
A bad show that you would still recommend -> Goodness, idk...Why R U? was kinda fun. Even though I wouldn't say I found it particularly great (probably due to the cuts they made due to COVID).
The character that ruined a show the most -> Fiat in Don't Say No. That one's a no-brainer.
Most awful character that you hated -> Fiat. Get him off my screen.
Most awful character that you loved -> Vegas. I love to hate him.
A character that wasn't awful but that you just don't like -> Rain in LITA. I found him annoying. I get that his behavior was supposed to be cute, but he just came across as pouty and immature.
A hero that should have been a villain -> I kinda think Kim in KinnPorsche would've been a good villain? It would've been unexpected. Also, something about Jeff Satur playing a villainous character is just *chef's kiss* (if he had played Vegas, I think I would've lost my mind).
A morally bad character you're into -> Vegas from KP. Also Vee from Love Mechanics because the cheating stuff was bad, but I also just find him very endearing? He was having an internal crisis, which isn't an excuse, but I empathized with him. (Can I throw Ray from Only Friends in here as well? Not sure he entirely fits. Apparently I'm just looking for any excuse to bring up Khaotung, lol.)
A morally bad character you're not into and you wish people would stop being into -> I'm having a hard time with this one...my first thought was Boston because his behavior makes me sick to my stomach, but I think it's funny how other people are into him. Like I get it even if I don't agree with it (Neo is hot, in any case).
The show that disappointed you the most -> This one is hard. I guess I'd say A Tale of A Thousand Stars? As I said above, I loved it at first, but I started to get so bored.
The Worst Show of Them All Because of Your Own Reasons -> Don't Say No. Sorry Fiat.
Whew, that was much harder than I thought! Will tag some of my moots if any of y'all wanna play--as always, no pressure! :) @abstractelysium @thegalwhorants @nihilisticcondensedmilk @bird-inacage @aprilblossomgirl @dreamedofyou @firstkanaphans @itsmelb @k-white @way-too-indecisive @autisticbokutoenthusiast
And of course, anybody and everybody is welcome to play along!

Reassurance
Abandoned.
That's a feeling that always stayed with him.
Fiat was always waiting for the moment Leo and his family would realize that Fiat wasn't good and would also abandon him like Fiat's own family did.
Whenever he committed the simplest mistake, he always had the feeling that the mistake he just made would be the reason why he was going to be abandoned once more.
And when that woman, that one that called herself his mother but all the memories with her were hurtful, came back that feeling became even stronger to the point Fiat wanted to push everyone away so he wouldn't be that hurt when they abandoned him.
Thankfully he had someone who was there to tell him that he had people who loved him and would never abandon him.
Tho had always been good at knowing when Fiat needed reassurance even if they weren't as close as the others.
Whenever he noticed it, he would just say that the two had to go grab something and take him to a quiet but secluded place to reassure Fiat.
"You have people who love you, Fiat" Tho says hugging Fiat "And we will never abandon you no matter what" he adds and plays with Fiat's hair while Fiat just melts into his arms and let Tho's reassurances calm down the monsters in his head
Leo may be the one always there and the one Fiat loves, but Fiat would always be thankful to have Tho there to reassure him when the monster in his mind was winning and no one realized it except for Tho.

Off-duty nurse rushed to save teenagers involved in police chase crash
Tumblr media
An off-duty nurse tried to save the life of two teenage boys after witnessing the aftermath of a crash that they were involved in, an inquest has heard. A jury of seven men and four women at Bolton Town Hall were told that Leo Gradwell, 14, died after 'losing control' of a Fiat 500 in Ashton Road, Golborne, before colliding with a Kia Sportage and then a Renault Clio on October 11, 2019. Two passengers in the car - named in court as Rhys and Bradley - were also injured in the collision. At the time of the crash, Leo was being chased by police, as the car he was driving matched the description of a Fiat stolen in Wigan the previous night. The court heard that a blue Fiat 500 had been taken by two masked males, one of whom had allegedly been carrying an axe. However Leo was not alleged to be one of the assailants. Giving evidence on the second day of the inquest, Susan Lane said that she had been driving home from shopping in Wigan when she spotted a car on its side in the middle of the road. After telling officers that she was an off-duty nurse, she was invited inside the scene. Ms Lane told the jury that when she first saw Leo, he had already been removed from the car and had been placed in the recovery position on the road. “He had a really good pulse,” she said. “I opened his eyes and his pupils appeared to be blown, which is a symptom of a severe head injury.” Ms Lane said she asked a police officer if they had any first aid equipment but said they only had a ‘basic’ kit containing plasters. “I told them that was no good. I couldn’t do anything,” she added.Tributes to Leo left at the scene of the crash (Image: Manchester Evening News) It was at that point she turned her attention to Bradley, then aged 15. Ms Lane recalled: “His lips were turning blue… he was struggling to breathe. “I asked if anyone had oxygen as that’s what I thought he needed. I couldn’t do anything for Leo because I didn’t have the equipment, but I could help Bradley. “I talked to him and he was in obvious shock. I didn’t know if he had a head injury, as some of the things he was saying back to me wasn’t appropriate. “I was telling him to sit up straight, breathe in on three, and breathe out on three. He was really struggling.” Ms Lane told the court that she then went back to Leo but his pulse had slowed. Paramedics had arrived on the scene by this point and started CPR, she said. “I got the view that all emergency services at the scene wanted Leo to survive and did all they could to keep him alive,” Ms Lane added. Commending Ms Lane's actions, senior coroner Timothy Brennand said: “Matters unfolded for you that day when off-duty and to give up your time and skills you clearly have, you can see how grateful the family are. I can only commend you.” The drivers of the other two cars involved in the collision also gave evidence. Leo initially crashed into the back of a Kia Sportage as he tried to go around it, before the car flipped and crashed into the front of a Renault Clio on the other side of the road. Gary Dawber, who was driving the Kia Sportage, said: “I heard a big bang and then saw a car flying past my window.” Clio driver Max O’Hare told the court he was ‘in shock’ after seeing a Fiat 500 on its side and coming towards him. “I saw a police car coming towards me and pulled over so I was stationary," he said. "There was also a black car opposite me. “I only realised a moment before that the Fiat was there. I saw it went onto two wheels.” He added: “I think the police that day did all they could.” One of the first paramedics on the scene was Karl Hough, who the jury was told had almost 20 years experience at the time of the incident. After trying to resuscitate Leo at the scene, Mr Hough told the jury that he was responsible for the decision to take him to the trauma unit at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary rather than Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, which is a specialised major trauma centre. Explaining the decision, he said that he thought Royal Albert Edward Infirmary represented Leo’s best chance of survival. Mr Hough added: “I was informed it was 12 to 13 minutes away. Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital was at least 30 minutes away. “My decision on that day was based on the instability of his condition. He was very very unstable.” Leo was assessed by Dr Asim Habib at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary. Dr Habib told the court that all staff were on standby for his arrival after being put on ‘red alert’. He said that on arrival, Leo still had a pulse but said he made the decision that being transferred to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital would give Leo the best chance of survival. Upon arrival at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, paramedics were informed that the CT scanner in the children’s section of the hospital was ‘faulty’, so Leo had to be taken to a different part of the site, where a scanner was available. Representing the Gradwell family, barrister Mass Ndow-Njie raised concerns about delays in Leo being scanned and questioned why he was not taken straight to that part of the hospital upon arrival. Mr Hough responded: “When we arrived, he was very unstable. The observations were not someone who could be safely put into the scanner straight away. “He needed intervention from doctors to stabilise him right away. It is unheard of for us, as ambulance staff, to take a patient directly to a scanner. “All the right people were there in the room when we arrived, they would establish priorities. There was a delay in A&E, but rightly so because they worked vigorously to stabilise Leo. “At the scanner, they don’t have the same equipment at hand, so if he became more critically ill while in the scanner, it would have been an even bigger problem." Mr Ndow-Njie also raised concerns on behalf of the family about Leo being transported by land rather than air, as air ambulances responded to the incident and had taken Bradley straight to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Dr Edward Davies, who responded with North West Air Ambulance, said: “We wouldn’t take very unstable patients in a helicopter. Land ambulances are more optimal - they are bigger spaces and there are more people. I would never have taken him by helicopter as he was so unstable.” Dr Davies added that helicopters are usually called to the scene to provide equipment, rather than to take patients to hospital. Ship Awareness - Leo & Fiat
(Don’t Say No the Series)
Note: Instead of doing a complete analysis like I planned, I decided to do a ship awareness because I felt like I was repeating myself too much in the analysis, probably do to points I’d already posted during viewing the show and so I ended up writing several drafts and liking none of them 🙃 So instead I decided on a Ship awareness piece which focus on the breakdown of just the pair’s relationship rather than a complete break down of the show as well. So…without further ado 😶
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Leo’s style of love is Care. People tend to think of care as defined as an emotion, where it means to have an affection or liking for, rather than the care as it is defined as an act. The type of care I mean when I talk about Leo is the provision of what is necessary for the health, welfare, maintenance and protection of someone (or something). When Leo is opening his home because Fiat has been kicked from his own, when he’s switching homes because Fiat feels uncomfortable, taking responsibility for his needs & having the last say on his health related decisions during his injury, dealing with his stalker, mother and King, playing middle man during his conflicts with his father – all of these are times we see Leo supply or have control over Fiats health, welfare (emotional & physical), and protection. And much of this goes hand-in-hand with his dominance because a large part of that is about instructing (guiding) giving care.
It’s not about sliding into a role society has given him, so much as it’s a part of who he is. This concept defines his ideology of love. If he doesn’t work within the frames of it he feels incompetent or as if he’s failed his relationship and Fiat. This is why when Fiat tells him that he can’t help him, that what happened with his mom is in the past and he doesn’t wanna rehash it, what Leo hears is that he’s useless because he feels it is his duty to provide for Fiats wellbeing.
Leo’s deepest desire is to make Fiat happy, to make him feel loved and he does that through these acts, through giving himself up Fiat in this way.
“All I care is right now, this moment, you’re mine and I’ll take the best care of you.”
Leo doesn’t require servitude with his dominance, he requires complete surrender of Fiat – body and heart. In return he’s willing to do or be anything Fiat needs to feel safe, taken care of and happy. That’s the exchange he’s committed to giving Fiat.
He’s devoted to the plight of making Fiat happy, so much so that he can fall into an extreme or become self conscious. We saw an exhibit of the former early in their relationship when he did all that research and kept love bombing Fiat verbally and with gifts. An overwhelming slew of loving and guess work instead of accessing and communicating. We see it again when they have their big blow out. Due to Fiats happiness and pleasure being of the utmost importance to Leo, he doesn’t seek to stop Fiat or overturn the decision he feels Fiat has made. Once again he indulgences him despite the pain he himself is obviously in as he tries to force his way back into the mindset of just being friends again. In the latter, that consciousness has him second guessing himself and his own needs, at one point it being so bad that he’d outright try to deny himself. His desire to please Fiat can sometimes lead to an overindulgence that can be detrimental to their relationship.
During times like these Fiat has to slide into coaxing Leo out of it without seeking to control (when he seeks to come from a place of control it just puts them into a far worse position – i.e the 4 years of him seeing other people). I think the further into their relationship they get the more Fiat understands the facets of the way Leo indulges him and this allows him to understand what Leo needs at those times. We see this when they try to move into having s€x again. Leo’s novice & making sure everything is okay makes this a slow process and they end up getting stopped a lot. It isn’t until Fiat initiates the act himself, declaring that he won’t be shy anymore, that progress is made. He’s able to do things this way, initiate with the knowledge that this will lead Leo to follow through and take over. He knows that if he shows that it’s something he absolutely wants that Leo will feel more comfortable giving into it. We see this again when Leo’s insecurities and fear about his own desires presents themselves and Fiat verifies that he’s not only okay with those needs but implies that Leo can take it even further.
Fiat may have had to say I love you first, or initiate things to convince Leo he’s ready, he may have to be a bit more ‘courageous’ but it creates a space where Leo feels comfortable, where he feels he’s centering Fiats wants & needs while being allowed his own. Fiat, as they grow, understands the balance he creates within Leo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I’ll let you do anything to me. Only you.”
Because Leo’s love style is so prevalent in the everyday feature of their relationship, it’s sometimes easy to miss the fact that Fiat centers Leo just as much as Leo centers him. Fiat has a sacrificial love style when to comes to Leo. It’s not just his body that Fiat submits to Leo but all aspects of himself. He’s always planned his life around Leo & the concept of maintaining a ‘them’. The first clue to this was the reference to him giving up ice skating for the sport Leo favored. Mind you he didn’t just join to ride the bench, no he surpassed Leo’s position. He became not only the scorer of the team but also the captain. How much dedication he had to have to go from a sport so drastically different from his own and become a fundamental part of the team that they couldn’t get rid of. He didn’t just join the team, he made basketball a them, a Leo & Fiat thing. He gave up what could’ve possibly been a dream and at the shortest was something he enjoyed and was good at given Leo’s claim that he could’ve gone pro.
We see another large example of this when after 2 years of living abroad with Leo for grad school, Fiat rejects a job to continue to be freelance so that he has ability to pick up and go if Leo’s job ever requires travel or a complete move from Thailand. He does this despite the struggle with homesickness he had during the 2 year stint abroad, despite the happiness of returning to Thailand. He and Leo don’t want to do separation, even if it’s temporary. And it’s not about clinging to one another, they just understand what conditions they deplete at and which ones they flourish under. Leo’s parents have jobs that require them to separate at times through travel and they live happily under that scope but that wouldn’t work for Leo and Fiat because they prefer existing in unity. I know some people look at that as codependency and that’s fine but I also think it’s important to understand the nuance of the pair themselves. Leo and Fiat have been together for almost their whole lives. Neither of them feels their highest level of achievement through career or education, they feel their most accomplished when their significant other feels loved, satisfied and taken care of.
For Fiat it doesn’t matter what day, time frame or era, no matter what’s up against Leo he’s always gonna choose Leo. So while we as outsiders may see these as acts of sacrifice, he himself likely does not. He’s just doing the things he needs to take care of Leo and their relationship.
We’ve also seen what the extreme side of this looks like for Fiat in that first situation with King (Leo & Fiat friendship era). Despite having no interest, affection or desire for King, Fiat decides to sacrifice his body because he didn’t want Leo’s own dream impacted. Because Fiat’s love style is the way it is, his every action is influenced by the concept of the love he has for Leo. Even when we break down the sexual habits of his past the contextualized point is that Fiat sought out relationships in the hopes that anger, jealousy or yearning would produce a response from Leo that would result in him transitioning their relationship from friends to lovers. It didn’t matter if others got hurt in that process, cause he certainly wasn’t genuinely interested in them. Many times these relations were done to avoid his own emotional distress related to Leo. Several times we see these engagements stem from a knee-jerk type of reaction after Fiat feels rejected by Leo. Even the infatuation with Type was based in the desire and love he has for Leo.
Be it good, bad or mistake, it all comes down to Leo. This is why he himself needs certain things when it comes to the one guiding him, because he’s the type that can lose himself in his love or in his Dom. We tend to view Fiat as a bit self-centered but when it comes to Leo he is anything but. Somewhere along the way he’s learned to read Leo’s physical signs and anticipate his needs. It’s imperative that Leo checks-in constantly with his emotions because Fiat is the sort that no matter how much he says otherwise will allow his own discomfort if the end game means Leo’s pleasures. There are bouts of him not admitting to his own pain or making choices that are not the most healthiest. Fortunately, Leo is the type that is obsessed with taking care of Fiat, with maintaining his welfare, happiness and protection. He manually checks on Fiats emotional level and needs, both verbally and by taking note of none verbal cues. No matter how small he will ask if it is okay to touch Fiat, to hold him, if he’s open to talking. He refuses to allow Fiat to sit in discomfort even for him. I think one of my personal favorite presentations of this was the decision to move houses because Fiat was not longer comfortable in the main home. Most people, like Fiat’s friends, would find this a bit extreme because won’t Fiat just get over it after a while and learn to adapt to the feeling? However, for Leo there is no extreme, there’s only placing Fiats emotional welfare first. And the matter isn’t actually small, they even change themselves due to this need. They give up the aspect of maids and such all together, choosing instead to be more independent based in the care of their home by learning to clean & take care of all other needs themselves. One thing I’ve always found interesting was Leo making sure the other room was accessible for Fiats personal need, even in this new home of theirs. I think most fans would claim that Fiat is confrontational but he’s really not, when it’s something that really causes him pain or discomfort he actually seeks to isolate himself and sit with his emotions alone. Even so much that there are times Leo literally had to search him out. So him allowing this other room to in a way be Fiat’s, is just Leo being conscious and considerate of Fiat’s needs.
Tumblr media
These ideals on how they love is found at the core of their every intimacy as well. I would say that their intimacy is defined by comfort but I don’t want people to think I just mean that it exist in a place of discontentment so instead I’ll describe it as being from a place of giving and receiving warmth. I don’t mean warmth as in heat of passion, because while their sexual intimacy usually tends to lean towards passionate expression, everything else comes from a sense of sheltering or act of care. When you assess how they touch outside of the perimeters of sex there’s rarely any gliding, gripping or lingering touches. There’s a lack of the desperation that’s so often present with new or young love. A lot of their touch is focused on embracing, be it hugging, cuddling or how they hold hands. An embrace is one of the easiest ways to share a sense of closeness. They’re so used to making the other feel surrounded in love and giving a sense of protection, shelter or consolation. The way Leo and Fiat hold hands as a form of embrace is fascinating to me. They don’t hold hands like most pairings who more often use the interlace method. Instead, Leo & Fiat has the habit of using the two-hand hold method wherein the giver holds the hand of the receiver with both of their own. This hand hold style is more often done from Leo to Fiat but there’s instances from Fiat as well. When Leo tends to do it, it’s always a face to face gripping while he glides his fingers over Fiats. The face to face with this kind of hold relays to the receiver that they have the other persons full attention. The grip gives a feeling that allows Fiat to feel safe, secure and comforted. While the gliding is about feeling loved and connected. It’s the same when it comes to kissing, Leo preferring to kiss the top of Fiats head and the back of his hand. The former is about giving assurance and allowing the receiver to feel safe under a sense of familiarity. This kiss style is often done by a parent or guardian but can be done by a lover who, like Leo, seeks to give his partner constant assurance no matter if it’s verbal or nonverbal. The latter, kissing the back of someone’s hand, also is a conveyer of assurance as it means affection, trust and usually is done to show utter devotion to the receiver. Fiat on the other hand doesn’t do many side kisses outside of cheek kisses which are all about showing affection. The one particular kiss that’s noteworthy for him is the forehead kiss he gave Leo (in the post Special) because while he chose to do this kiss in the midst of s€x, the kiss style itself is nonsexual and all about emotional closeness. It conveys that you respect the receiver, that you see them as more than a sexual being. It presents as appreciation or a way to give consolation.
This of course isn’t the full extent of their touching but the longer you watch them the more you realize just how much the concept of ‘embrace’ is at the core of their touch system and how this system exist as such because of their ideology about love. Every pair has their own touch system, when I spoke about KaengPuth from Y-Destiny I expressed how their intimacy was all about reverence. That their touch system was a burning passion where the movements were slow and lingering because it was only during the act of s€x that they could honestly express their love for the other. Leo & Fiat however differ from Kaeng & Puth in the fact that their touch system manifested over years of friendship before they moved into a sexual space. Like I said their touch is about warmth – it presents as being cozy because they’re both already so comfortable in its exchange or presence. Because of this, because their touch system was already founded in giving care, comfort, warmth, or love when they switched over to a romantic relationship they verbalized the fact that their physical exchange may be the same but it no longer is tucked under the guise of friendship. This for a small time is what caused the worry inside of their transition when considering s€x because there were question if the other would understand that the touch is now romantic since it was the same, or would advancing into more sexual areas make them perceive one another differently (in a bad way). Of course it doesn’t and it helps that their intimacy also includes openness to dialogue.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In fact, their sexual intimacy while still grounded in caring for one another shows up quite differently in the touch system. Their intimacy outside s€x is mellow, cozy, and looks like old love but their intimacy inside s€x is all new. The aspect of passion and desperation that is missing in their nonsexual intimacy is often at the center when it comes to their sexual exchange. There’s a lot of exploration, be it through hands or mouth. There’s lots of gripping and gliding which infers a desire to be closer, to be connected in every way. However, rather than this being about them sharing a new experience I’d say it’s more of a greed thing. Leo and Fiat are quite the touchy pair in their own right and when that transfers over into s€x it elevates to a whole other level. I say this because there’s always a kick up in this expressionism when there is a real gap in them engaging in any form of intercourse. The longer they go without the exchange the more impassioned they are, the more they exhibit that desire for connection.
Due to them being in a 24/7 lifestyle variation of D/s, their elements of dominance and submission never takes a break and resides in both the sexual and nonsexual sectors of their relationship. D/s is about energy just as much as any intimacy, and because it comes with a commitment to roles, duties and such that energy is felt no matter how minuscule. Basically what I mean here is that no matter the nonsexual element it will most likely still have a kink element or vibe to the exchange. For example, feeding, or clothing one another. Feeding and clothing a lover can be an intimate thing all on its own, but what I really wanted to focus on here was how the energy is different dependent upon which one is giving the act. This may be a way one or both of them chooses to care for the other but they still come from a very different place when engaging with the action. Leo is a dominant so his energy or acts come from a place of dominance or features aspects of dominance while Fiat’s come from a place of submission. I know this sounds like common sense but so often I see people tie the concept of initiating to dominance so they can infer that Fiat is being dominant or is the dominant in that moment and that’s not true at all.
Leo is lenient when it comes to Fiat, and Fiat is what some would call a Brat. So this gives into Leo giving Fiat room to express what ever he needs in the moment but then he always takes back control through changing position, tempo, or the act. More and more I tend to think that this act isn’t about Fiat trying to engage with dominance or be dominant but rather his way of bluntly showing and telling Leo that he wants what they’re doing and that he consents to it. I feel that it’s more about Fiat taking care of Leo through submission rather than dominance because so often during these times we see Fiat literally place himself in Leo’s hands and tell him to do to him whatever he wants. This is important to note because Leo himself at times get caught up in his own fears of his dominance. Fear of hurting Fiat or doing things he’s not comfortable with. Consent is a big element in their intimacy for Leo, both in and out of sex. In fact, if you recall their first sexual exchange or them starting again after the confusion period – Fiat had to initiate both of them because of Leo’s own hesitancy. Like I said previously, Fiat isn’t as self-centered when it comes to Leo, he often temper checks Leo the same way Leo temper checks him. The longer their relationship goes on the more Fiat has grown into his submission and understanding that initiating doesn’t have to come only when Leo is self conscious but can also come when he wants to feel loved and give love. And yes, I do believe that Fiat has always been aware of his submissive nature when it comes to Leo because of the things he used to say during the taunting era of their relationship when he was bitter about the fact that Leo hadn’t chosen to transition their relationship from friends to romantic partners. The idea itself, that it’s Leo’s place and not his to transition them, speaks to how he saw things when it came aspects such as control, guidance, and dominance when it came to their relationship even then. Don’t Say No is in part about sexual exploration and for Fiat that was grounded in delving himself into his submission and coming out in ways that were healthy and fit for him. 3 years into their relationship and you can see how he’s really learned and settled into using these means to take care of Leo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both Leo and Fiat believe in concepts of ownership and belonging to one another. They often use terminology that aligns with these ideals such as mine, or yours. Their necklaces sits inside this aspect as well. Despite the charms being a gift from Leo’s Mom, for their anniversary, them deciding to wear each others name is an indicator of ownership itself. Leo choosing to wear the necklace that claims him to be Fiat’s while Fiat wore the one that declared he was Leo’s. Sometimes I really want to compare the necklaces to aspect of collaring but I think the important thing to note about it is the reverence they both have for the charms and the role it plays for them. I placed it in this section because it takes part in all their intimacy ideals, including sexual. The two rarely take off the necklaces and by rarely I mean they only did that one time they took a bath together. The charms aren’t just identifiers to their ownership of the other but also physical representation of their devotion and surrender to one another and the concepts of what makes them, them. So when they include the charms in their most intimate act of making love to one another, it’s their way of paying tribute to it, to their love and relationship. When they are at their most vulnerable, in a painful state and the other is not around they hold tight to these charms the same way the they wish to hold to one another. They treat their necklaces the way a married couple may treat their wedding rings.
Emotional and physical intimacy intertwine for Leo and Fiat’s relationship. Every physical touch, be it sexual or nonsexual, is motivated by whatever emotional landscape they are allowing into their relationship at the moment. They try to also keep the air clear for verbal communication as to take away guess work and both of them have been known to try to go with what they assumed the other wanted rather than questioning and that has caused things to go haywire. Being open and vulnerable isn’t as easy as anyone ever claims, for both Leo and Fiat I think that struggle comes not from the other but from their own internal fears. They both have these expectations and perceptions of themselves and neither wants to be ‘too much’ in the frame of their relationship – Leo with his Dominant nature which is already so stigmatized by society and Fiat with his own worries of if he’s a good or bad person and therefore worthy of the love he receives from Leo. So often this leads to the belief that if one just deals with it on their own, if they push it back and don’t allow the other to see it or know about it then it won’t become a problem. Definitely when you have two individuals who are so driven to be together that they’re willing to lose other aspects. So, to me, I think their intimacy isn’t just about which touch means what, or giving pleasure and happiness. It’s about coming to a place where they understand that the other person will love them no matter what and support them when it comes time to assess their own internal murky waters and that they’re open for the discussion, without judgement, no matter if it’s something so deep that they have to discuss it or handle it more than once.
“I’ll probably never be the perfect boyfriend. But there’s one thing I’m better than anyone, it’s loving you with all my heart.”
I still see takes that imply the title ‘Don’t Say No’ was was built in toxicity and I realize that with these are people who either have not actually seen the show or have an incredible lack of comprehensive skills. So, I didn’t want to leave out the opportunity to speak about this specific topic because I feel that it’s such insight into what Leo & Fiat wish to achieve inside their relationship. Even me, myself, really didn’t get it until watching the theme song video and really taking it in (love this song btw).
We’ve been walking together long time That makes me know no one deserves you But me Only you in my whole heart Trust me I will have only you Believe me Baby please don't say no Don’t say that again
Believe our hearts live together We sometimes misunderstand each other Cause we don’t talk I won’t let you say no Cause I will show you No one loves you As much as I do
(Song: Please Don’t Say No – Subs & Video on YouTube)
Basically the song expresses their desire to not be rejected (emotionally) and their pledge to love the other so well that they’ll never want to reject the other or separate. Both Leo and Fiat reiterates this both direct and indirectly in the series itself. Leo bluntly stating that he won’t let Fiat reject his love and Fiat replying that he won’t reject Leo’s love. Indirect version was,
“I’ll make you so infatuated with me that you don’t dare become someone else’s but mine.”
“I surrender, this Leo is already very infatuated with Fiat.”
“I’ll keep spoiling you until you can’t live without me.”
“Fiat already can’t live without Leo.”
And this is what I was speaking to previously, Leo and Fiat believe in surrendering to their love, to their relationship and to one another. The ideologies of love and how they give it is so tied to everything they do because they’re dedicated to making the other feel so loved, so cared for, that they never regret the decision to say yes and they never feel a need to change it to a no. They take pride in that surrender because it is what allows them to confidently say that they deserve the other, that there’s no one better than them. They make these pledges because they want the other to understand that they may not be perfect, their relationship may have hiccups from time to time, but they’ll be loving the other to the utmost of their ability and with all that they have.
Tumblr media
“Yes there is you and me. Theres us.”
Leo and Fiats main goal is to be a them, us, a pair. Whatever word you wanna use that’s synonymous for existing in unity. That was their goal even before transitioning into a romantic relationship and now that they have there’s no desire to go backwards. It’s not difficult to understand why Fiat chose Leo, why he was the one to have such an impact on his life. Fiat didn’t come from a stable home, with parents who showed him how to receive love much less give it. When Leo entered his life he brought with him family, home, security, love and care. Leo was Fiats first experience at love, all love, not just romantic because Leo was the first person who gave him love in a healthy way, a love that was all about him and not founded in selfishness or pain. Leo loved him patiently, completely and unselfishly and in turn Fiat doesn’t just love all aspects of Leo, he accepts all of Leo. Fiat is more bold, more brave even, but he never demeans Leo for that, instead he offers himself up with the knowledge that no matter how Leo chooses to love him it’ll be good. Fiat is Leo’s first in every way, the trust and acceptance is one of the greater gifts Fiat has bestowed upon him. It allows him freedom within their relationship to engage however he pleases. Fiat places nothing above or before Leo. He is willing to sacrifice any and everything in place of Leo. Sometimes I feel people overlook the way Fiat places himself in Leo’s hands, overlook the fight he has for the other man and their relationship, because everyone has their own ideals of what ‘weakness’ is, they see Leo give an act of care or what they view as ‘saving’ Fiat and in turn judge Fiat for what they perceive as weakness. I think that this need to invalidate Fiats emotional distress as some kind of weakness, is unfair definitely when it’s used to diminish what he brings to the table. Both men are devoted to their relationship. Both men exhibit exceeding care for the other. The reason they work so well is that they both give their all to each other, their relationship, and the love they have. They are each other’s most important person.
Leo and Fiat are all about being what the other needs. They’ve always refused to allow others to decided what that meant for them, refused to let outsiders define them. They cultivated their own love and everything that takes places inside the perimeters of their relationship is their own choosing. Others may feel that Leo is too lenient when it comes to Fiat, feel contempt at the concept of him wearing a sign of ownership as well but Leo would never care. He doesn’t allow his own parents much say or allow their opinions to mold the concept of his relationship with Fait, so it’s doubtful he’d let anyone else do so. Fiat belongs to him as much as he belongs to Fiat. It is his right to protect him, take care of him and make him happy because Fiat is his. Same with Fiat, he didn’t care what others thought of his sexual past or felt about him as a whole. Leo is his center and his opinion, feelings, thoughts, and wants are the ones Fiat holds as the utmost important. He allows Leo to lead him because he trust him, because he knows he’ll be cared for. As he told his friend. “Past, present or future it’s always Leo.” He made his decision long ago and gives himself to that decision daily.
“I don’t know if there’ll be a day when I become a perfect boyfriend for you, but I’ll be me who loves you with all my heart.”

As promised, the post about Seanwhite's D/s dynamic.
Their kink relationship is very interesting to me. They don't know each other on a personal level, but they know each other on a kink level, whether they realize it or not. The thing about connecting with someone on a D/s level, especially if it's as intense as what they clearly feel, is that it's extremely difficult to not automatically fall into that dynamic, whether you mean to or not. I don't think either of them remotely mean to, but they just can't help it. Dgmw, I'm not saying that that's exclusive to kink connections, obviously romantic connections are also very difficult to ignore. But for kinky people, generally the way we experience romantic love tends to be wrapped up in our kink needs(though not always the other way around). And often it's harder to deny the kink connection than the romantic one(think Leo and Fiat and their obvious inability to not have a D/s relationship with each other even though it was unspoken and they were ostensibly friends).
Personal story time! The most profound kink relationship I've ever had was with a man who, when we met, was deeply, deeply devoted to Christianity, and thought he wasn't allowed to date an Atheist. But, despite our religious differences, we very much fell in love. He was able to ignore that, but he couldn't ignore the way we instinctively related to each other as Dominant and submissive, so we spent some time exploring kink in a non sexual and non romantic way(mostly service submission and s&m). It didn't work out for multiple reasons, but even to this day when we spend time together, it's all but impossible for us to pretend that we don't relate to each other in that way.
The point is, Sean and White also can't pretend that they don't have that with each other. Even when they were boxing, it turned into a kind of kink dance:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way they look at each other is a big, big tell. White looks at Sean with scared vulnerability, while Sean gazes down at him calmly, clearly in control of both himself and White. And then, when he knocks White out:
Tumblr media
He looks at him with this somewhat concerned yet stern expression, the way a Dom sometimes looks at a sub after a scene. In a way, that's exactly what they just did. And he's also clearly trying to come to grips with what he's feeling.
Then we have some behavior control, Sean firmly telling White to be respectful and polite:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And we get another look between them after Sean yanks him out of the bathroom:
Tumblr media
Same frightened vulnerability, same calm, stern expression.
And some more power play:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
White is whiney, the way submissives often are when their Dom gives them orders they don't want to follow, but he only gives the most token of struggles. Also, I can't lie, the way Sean slams White's arm into the bed is hella sexy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pushing against your Dom, testing their strength, can be a way to seek reassurance. For subs what we desire is often a sense of safety. It may seem counterintuitive, but knowing that your Dom is stronger than you, can physically control you, gives you that sense of safety. So when White moves his hand a little, that's what he's seeking from Sean. The knowledge that Sean is stronger than him, can control him. And Sean does exactly what he wants when he tightens his grip on White's wrist.
Their relationship is extremely intense, and I'm very curious where it'll go from here.
Feel free to engage with this post!

Leo’s Taste in Books
I am sure absolutely no one but me cares, but still since I made this list, I’ll post it! Being a book nerd, I go “Book? Book!” when I see them, so naturally I had to find out what books Leo is reading through TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love. Here’s a list for anyone who doesn’t want to spend the time I did squinting at the screen and Googling for likely candidates:
The first time we see Leo, in Italy, he is reading NVK by Temple Drake, according to Goodreads a “suspenseful, gothic, erotic novel”. Tagline is “Do the living dead walk the streets of modern Shanghai?”.
Tumblr media
Bonus: Not his own bookshelf but where he’s staying I also spotted: Ian Rankin’s Black and Blue, Lord of the Rings (The Two Towers) by J.R.R Tolkien, The Oxford Pocket Learner’s Dictionary, Keep Safe for Me by Patricia Burns, and Plugged by Eon Colfer.
2.
In the scene where Leo calls Fiat to come back home because Type is taken, he’s kicking back next to... the Dictionary. It looks like an older edition, but I thiiiink it’s Webster’s New World College Dictionary (good choice, apparently the authority on the English language relied upon by the New York Times).
3.
In the Domestic Cuddling Scene in Episode 7 it looks like there are a few books on the go. Closer study reveals Leo is working on:
The Catechism of the Catholic Church
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whisper to me by Nick Lake And, the Wendy Erskine book from the next point. The Catechism I guess we can work out what it’s about, Whisper to Me is about a girl who writes a letter to the boy she loves about why she broke up with him. Claimed to be part mystery, part mental health exploration and part romance. Aims for the boy to learn that “love for your family, love for that person who makes your heart beat faster, and love for yourself—can save you after all”. (P.S. The next time this nightstand appears (in the crying scene) there are no books, so perhaps Leo was so upset he threw some stuff? Or, less angsty, he finished them all.)
4.
The morning after their big fight, Leo is calming down by reading Sweet Home by Wendy Erskine, a collection of short stories about people living in East Belfast, “charged with regret and sorrow, desire and yearning”. NVK (which he has brought from Italy but apparently not yet finished, is on the table. I am guessing because the flight back was too angsty to spend time reading!)
Tumblr media
I can’t believe how long I spent to find this out, from sheer curiosity :D I hope you enjoyed this incredibly nerdy trek through Leo’s eclectic book collection.

axelle judges bl shows > Don’t Say No
shitty summary: The romantic lives of Leo and Fiat, best friends who get together, and Leo’s brother Leon trying to court P’Pob, a cold senior at university.
where to watch: linetv | dramacool
grade: 7/10
pros:
- leonpob. leonpob are the only thing I cared about.
- the chemistry was very good, that’s for sure.
- the acting was solid as well, I didn’t find any bad performances.
cons:
- it’s such an empty show. there’s a clear storyline & some plot points that happen, but frankly nothing stood out to me & it all felt like a big blurb of make out sessions and sex scenes... it wasn’t necessarily boring, but very much repetitive, which made me honestly skip most leofiat scenes.
- there’s no real stakes at all. fiat getting literally s*xually assaulted isn’t explored nearly enough, his trauma is completely ignored when it could’ve been an interesting storyline, but more than that, the use of the friend group & especially the funny mafia brothers (I did like them ngl) to solve LITERALLY EVERY PROBLEM was such an easy cope out. oh, they’re mafia brothers, so they can find anyone & solve everything just by clicking their fingers, right?? that’s so dumb bc it meant that there was no tension at all, and not once did I care about the obstacles the characters had to go through bc I knew they’d be absolutely fine. the only actually good scene in that respect is leonpob’s breakup, but even then I thought it was so random & made no sense so I still didn’t like it lmao
would I rewatch it: nah, or maybe just the leonpob storyline
I said it multiple times before, but this is mediocrity covered in sex scenes. Unless you already really like the ship in which case you will enjoy the show, I wouldn’t recommend this one. Just watch the LeonPob cut somewhere & you’ll be fine.

Francis watches Tharntype 2 (Day 2)
First thought: I am actually more excited about this than the first one because at least this one has a bunch of darling side couples.
Second thought: I should probably eat dinner... does a lemon poppyseed muffin count?
Third thought: Cut!
Episode 4
The idea that Tharn is trying to cook at this point is absolutely pointless. Ugh, the worst part is that this could be a cute scene if I'd just deal with my issues with their relationship and enjoy it.
lol hey, boys, maybe try talking to each other occasionally? Seems like a good idea. But dude don't waste all the cake ingredients!
The totally platonic 'let me wipe your face' scene. Mmmm, yes. Absolutely platonic. This is definitely a thing all friends do with each other. No question. My tiny idiots.
Tiny bratty Fiat just seeking the service and love and possessiveness so, so desperately. He knows what Leo responds to and he can deliver. And always does. Fiat craves Leo's attention and Leo's love languages include acts of service so he constantly acts on trying to give Fiat what he wants and take care of him.
Fiat whines and Leo has absolutely zero resistance. Literally zero.
And the way Leo looks at Fiat when he says he loves him. It's all affection and love but he still needs to refute him because he isn't sure of that love.
Type is just defending his kitchen from an intruder. I get it. That poor abandoned cake was probably doomed to be burnt anyway.
Tharn, just because Fiat is cute when he pouts doesn't make you cute. Frankly, it just makes you slightly obnoxious and not very good at communicating.
Seriously, they still don't trust each other and don't communicate. It's just not a good relationship at all. Ugh. What kinds of relationships are these people in?
I get that the theme of this show is their marriage but holy shit boys, try talking to each other about your issues? And not just making choices.
Protective Leo is the best Leo. He's so darling and so instantly jealous of Type it's almost funny. Boy already wants to tie Fiat up somewhere away from the world.
lol Type definitely thinks they're going out. He's more perceptive than they are about themselves. And instantly guilts Leo who already hates that Fiat is walking around. Ugh, babies.
Pissy, jealous Leo who is torn between pissy jealousy and his normal worry. I adore him. I do love Leo when he wants more but is also so scared about hurting their friendship and he drops everything instantly when Fiat whines or frowns or pouts.
Leo, service top, changing Fiat's shoes for him to let him try on a new pair. I do adore him so much. And the way Fiat stares as he does? The way his eyes focus on Leo to the exclusion of everything else? Hell yes.
Khunpol! Doc! YAY! Cuteness!
"I got lost while staring at this paper with the address of your restaurant on it and desperately wanting to talk to you and also I have a giant crush on you and I'm useless." I love him so much. All the tiny stammering is gonna do me in.
Champ and his complete lack of personal space dklgdf damn they're darling and cute AF I absolutely get the love, like, holy moly, @absolutebl, they're too cute for WORDS how dare they.
Champ is the most oblivious child in the entire universe and Doc has it so bad for him it's almost painful. I love pining so much goddamn this show has NO RIGHT to be so good at side couples.
Goddamn, this is adorable and I love Doc so much more than I feel should be legal. I seriously wanna pretend that this is the same school Bar and Gun are at and Gun and Doc can be friends and talk about pining.
Why does Thorn have to explain this to Tharn? Why can't Tharn just try talking to his, you know, long term boyfriend that he supposedly wants to marry?
Every time Champ ruffles Doc's hair it gets cuter.
So... didn't Thanya and Techno just out Tharn as Type's boyfriend on instagram? Like that... appears to have been what happened? Only no one noticed? What just happened?
Did Techno get more annoying or is it my imagination?
Dude, all you did was see Tharn talking to a girl near jewelry. Like... that's not a lot to tell. And you're done.
Techno acts like he's hungry but the food never goes in his mouth. At least Champ actually ate occasionally.
Awwww, Fiat sneaking shots of them practicing but also specifically sneaking shots of Leo. And then Leo trying desperately to get his attention. Like, honestly, Leo has it so bad for Fiat it's painful. He's the shyest, most worried boy though... ugh, I love them both so much.
Honestly, watching this, it's interesting to see how much more invested Leo was at this point. Fiat had mostly checked out of that hope of getting together and was trying so hard to move on while Leo has never been able to even begin to move on.
Okay, see, domesticity looks good on them. Why not just let them back a background couple to someone else for this season? Could've been cute!
Episode 5
"He's 100% single because he's never put it out on social media except for all the comments about him taking care of some 'Type' dude and all his very couple-like posts."
Seriously, these two have the absolute worst relationship ever. Mmmm, mutual distrust and lack of communication. Tastes horrible.
The idea that Type just outted himself to someone trying to steal his boyfriend and also works at the same company as him seems like a very bad idea for someone who wants to stay in the closet. Crossed wires, anyone?
I mean, seriously, how the fuck has Type managed to stay in the closet with Tharn this long if he's this jealous and possessive over him? It doesn't even make SENSE.
"You're the only one I go soft on" hehehehehehehehe
Awww, there's a puppy in the shot! AWWW PUPPY.
Type is rarely jealous? ... what?
I really don't see how it's hard to make Type jealous. Literally, Tharn, just go look at someone funny and Type'd lose his mind.
Oh, tiny idiot Fiat, trying to find a way to get over Leo but uselessly. And really stupidly.
Leo being all pissy while everyone around him knows what's going on and just tries to ignore it. And Fiat just... trying so hard and Leo getting hurt more and more as their friends are amused. And Leo's big smile when Fiat noticed he took care of him ughhh they're so cute damnit.
And the little neck/head stroke. Oh, boys.
Type's parents are great, I can't deny it.
Phugun just waits around from Cir to get back and it's darling. But also ukes/bottoms unite and Phugun's support of actually communicating issues is adorable. He's like, "hey, uh, have y'all ever heard of talking?" and I love him for it.
Look, I love darling established relationships with communication and lots of understanding so I'm glad we have Cir and Phugun in this show because they can give us that.
But this also seems like the kind of thing to just tell Tharn. Like... keeping it from him only feels more stressful than telling him? Won't Tharn figure out the whole not-getting-leave-thing pretty quickly?
lol now that @absolutebl pointed out Cir = Sir the dialogue is destroying me.
Cir is so possessive and Phu is 100% teasing him and Type is like '... get me out of this.'
Yes, communication! Thank you for the advice, Phugun, too bad you gave it to someone useless.
Phugun is darling and childish and I love him. And Cir takes good care of him. Look. Yes. It's true. Daddy/boy is definitely my favorite BL vibe. I'm fairly sure everyone knows this at this point.
Gotta be honest, Cir and Phugun go farther on the kink spectrum than Leo and Fiat did in some ways. Between Phugun's stuffed animals and childish pajamas and favorite candies and the way he bounces and drinks hot cocoa all the time... seriously. I mean, I love it, but seriously.
"You can do everything to me" MAME really likes that line.
Awww, Phugun telling Tharn that he was worried about Type.
Or you could try talking!
Awww, Champ and Doc eating together and being darling. And Doc is so flustered and useless and Champ doesn't even notice because he's oblivious and I love him.
Yeah, I'm just over here having love affairs with all the side couples in this show and trying to ignore the title couple.
Doc does the best heart eyes. And Champ does the best oblivious compliments.
Techno did get a bit more annoying, I'm pretty sure of it. I think adding seven years without any maturity hurts his character.
motherfucking lol Champ stroking Doc's nose and Doc literally losing all his utensils with a cosmic rush of lust.
And the hair!
I do like that all the characters ship ChampDoc as much as the audience does. And that the basic advice with Champ is "literally write it down, spell it out, make it so clear that even my oblivious idiot friend can figure it out."
They really did make this boss character as obnoxious as possible. Like, pulled not stops, just made him the worst ever without any question or hesitation. He's basically a caricature.
Oh hey, look, a chance to communicate and he actually talks at least a little! But Tharn instantly tells him to calm down. No wonder they never talk. Tharn can't handle venting and Type doesn't always want solutions. Not the best mix, especially if they won't even try.
The handhold is cute but it doesn't help anything. TALK, DAMNIT.
Welp, that's it for tonight! Tomorrow is a maybe, considering I get an actual show to watch tomorrow.

Are you going to watch Don't Say No? The first episode (post special/introductory episode for those who didn't watch Tharntype Season 2) aired today and I always love reading your thoughts on shows.
DON'T SAY NO
I am watching it.
I even considered dumpster fire trash posting about it the way I did Gen Y and Tharntype2. (And thank you SO much for saying you enjoy it when I do that! I honestly figured no one was reading those.)
Tumblr media
I watched and it was... fine. The leads are cute. The story is... not there (but they who expect story from mame are doomed to disappointment). The friends are interfering. The manufactured angst is high. It's fine. I'm not being driven into a furor of verbal excitement because it was harmlessly banal.
IT'S FINE. I'M FINE. WE'RE ALL FINE.
If it goes bad I might suddenly discover eloquence. I don't have much to say about Special ep 0, since it was, as you said, a recap of events in TharnType so here's....
Don’t Say No Ep 1
Dropped with hard subs, so Frigay is back!
It opened with a confession & claiming = celebrity coupledom, so already we’re in unusual territory. So far it’s mostly Leo trying to be a good boyfriend and Fiat being a tiny basket case. It’s very seme/uke when what the characters require is hard core D/s (Dom/brat for those keeping sore) and I’m not sure the narrative will go there.
BUT THAT IS WHAT WE WANT.
Tumblr media
JaFirst do not have the physical chemistry necessary for high heat but if they move into D/s (and they already started with that hold against the wall + Leo’s denial of Fiat’s attempt to take control of the kiss) they won’t need high heat, so in this instance I hope everyone practices some serious restraint.
Pun intended.
Still it’s high production values and the acting & casting is on point (which appears to be a huge ask from Thailand this year), so it's modestly absorbing so far.
But what? What is the feeling I'm feeling? Is it... ennui?
Tumblr media
Actually I DID start blogging about this already. Obvs that’s how forgettable I’m finding it...
moving this bit over there

DSN Ep 10 Liveblog
I do like Fay
Possibly unpopular opinion, but I'm good with Leo currently exuding happy; for me it's perfectly in character for him to be ruthlessly suppressing his negative emotions in favour of reflecting Fiat's positive ones. With just a joke about his negative feelings. Plus you can totally hate yourself and be happy for someone else at the same time.
OMG!!! I WASN'T EXPECTING THIS! LEO! CONGRATS ON THE COMMUNICATION!!! 👏👏👏
Pity Fiat didn't take it seriously.
But @thequeenofsastiel, I think we have a definitive answer regarding punishment 😂
That lip bite was an A+ acting choice.
CLOSE THE DOOR!
What? Ja's right shoulder. What? Seriously, that looks painful.
We've progressed to not needing to be face to face.
... I think Leon's last "ok" was supposed to be AFTER Pob's last line 😅
Right, the annual banquet will be the fancy dress event.
Mum is a force of nature 😂
I will say, as advertisments go, this is a good one. Some of them are SERIOUSLY cute.
No, that's what In calls stealing a kiss. Korn disagrees.
They didn't even bother to give the other team a name card 🤣
Why isn't Fiat playing?
Well that scene had me grinning like a fool (until Curly turned up ofc)
Given he played dirty to win their last 2 games, I suppose it wouldn't make any sense for him not to try for a third. And narratively they have to play his team again. It does feel like a natural next step, not a "ran out of ideas so let's repeat some" thing.
🐶
Does that top say Justin Bieber? 👀😂
😂🤣😂🤣 Siblings hey?
He is not giving her a millimeter, never mind an inch. 😎
Did they forget to include the voice over?
Oh, is the girl working with Curly to split them up?
So what was she blackmailing him with? Curled hands Fiat, I know that's not where you're looking, but it's where you need to look.
... to the surprise of no one, I'm not a fan of this plot point, nor looking forward to ep 11.
The curse continues.

I'm going to preface this by saying I'm not in the best mood because my boss was unintentionally rude to me and I don't handle disrespect well at all. That being said, let's continue.

Tumblr media
Mame gets away with a lot because her characters are fundamentally complex and/or are relatable in some way and that's attractive to the audience. I love many of her disaster children.
But as a writer myself, her pacing is atrocious. Both overall and in some of the episodes, ep 12 being one of them and I'll explain why. So an example of good pacing from her is Type's slow realisation that he wasn't attracted to Pufai and he was actually attracted to Tharn and wanted to be with him. That was a culmination of an internal struggle that was externalised through that plot point. Great. Peak. Love it. Poor pacing is when she reveals Type's sexual assault but we never revisit it ever again. Like 'kay bye. The whole front end of the season is dedicated to Type's trajectory and then suddenly the overarching villian is Lhong and we have to fit in a break up, excessive pining and resolution in 1.5 episodes. Sound familiar?
There was no solid grounding in Leo's reaction in episode 11, other than to force the reaction out of Fiat to break up. The whole entire season Leo has been showing up for Fiat. Holding him when he cries, solidifying his existing place as Fiat's person. Do we delve into any of Leo's psyche around that? No. Fiat shows up for Leo, I approve, ya boy is flawless, but it's just exposition. How do we get these two in a place to deal with the villains (King and Punn)? MAGIC 10 MINUTE RESOLUTION TIME, BABY.
Don't get me wrong, in practice, it works, they say the right words, happy days. But my dudes. That's bad writing. It's, to a degree, lazy. For me, the sweet spot in a drama is the angst. TharnType got away with it to a certain extent because Mew went all in and dragged our asses. Tharn begged on his knees for his love to stay, and we're supposed to believe that Fiat and Leo are in their own way closer than that? No, you didn't earn it. You didn't earn it because Mame didn't invest in Leo the way she did with Tharn. For example, the conversation TT have in S1 when Tharn says, it's fine if I see someone else. Him holding his face after, my heart does the sad thump thump.
A lot of the time, I felt like she was edging me only with no gratifying pay off and it's so frustrating because these men are so interesting and complicated. Their codependency, their history of portraying artifical versions of themselves out of fear -- it was a goldmine.
And you know, I don't lay this on First or Ja because I watched the BTS, they really listened to what they were told and workshopped the scenes under that guidance. You can have the most amazing actors in the world, but if the story isn't there, it isn't going to work.
Honestly, I don't mean to sh*t on the episode because at the end of the day, like I said, job done, happy-ish endings all around. It's just, I expect more. I expect more because Mame should be capable of more. She's had multiple series adapted now and she needs to ascend to more than what she is now. Mentioning the BTS again, she gives a lot of direction, which I don't necessarily agree with. It should be a director's set and P'Pique's vision enacted. Her role should be advisory only and to carry out re-writes when requested because, lord knows, I would have.
But yeah, I still need to watch it a couple more times to really delve into a full analysis but that's where I'm at with everything.

TharnType 7 Years: A flashback to the past and A foreshadow of the future aka The truth of TharnType and LeoFiat ;Episode 6
Tumblr media
Guess what another Tharn and Type analysis, another repetition of the duality, mirroring, shadowing of Tharn and Type (TT) and Leo and Fiat, but this time it's even more complicated, and every time I analyse these two it gets even more complicated and painful. I'm going to try and write out a full analysis of why Leo and Fiat (LF) are more complicated when you try to compare them to TT. Fiat reminds us of Type in season 1; he's stubborn, immature and problematic and Leo reminds us of Tharn just by longing secretly for Fiat and always putting Fiat's well being first, but that's only on the surface. Leo and Fiat have even more depth than those comparisons, there are times where Fiat is actually more like Tharn and Leo is more frustrating as Type. Confused? Let's go into more detail.  Also JUST realised that it’s both episode 6 of season 1 and season 2 that are mirrored this way. That’s incredible.
Tumblr media
What I like Mame and her writing for shows is that she loves making sure you go through a journey with her characters. Her villains usually are not just one-dimensional irrational villains, they have depth, in fact, most of the time they have their own love interest later, sometimes we root for them (like Tin from Love By Chance Season 1, and Tul from a chance to love), sometimes we feel upset and angry and frustrated at the actions they do. It's no surprise in a show as explosive as TT we get Fiat, someone who is also very polarising. But you know what? I love that about him. I didn't think this series will make me fall for another couple as much as I love TT, but no I am obsessed with Leo and Fiat, their dynamic, their requited longing that they both don't see and think it's unrequited from their point of views, their love for each other and what they mean to each other.
You can find my previous Tharn and Type posts about how this season is about Misunderstandings, Misreading and Miscommunications from two different perspectives, our couples all have something to overcome since they don't see each other's views, and Leo and Fiat are the same. The most important thing they don't know about each other is how much, how great, how uncontrollably they are with their love for each other. Leo is refusing to show it, and Fiat is more reactive and preventive to it. Both are idiots who can't see something so obvious, but hey that's what makes this trope even more angsty and dramatic, both couples go through drama, pain and we the audience join the ride. And it's funny people complain that this show has no angst as the past season. Still, Leo and Fiat literally are the plotline of the past season, just as angsty, just as passionate (despite no s*x) and just as dramatic and idiotic.
Tumblr media
What I love about TT and LF as a couple is that they both are flawed. It's funny because other people always focus on just one of the couples as the most problematic, but no, they are always both all in need of growth and change. Shocking right? It seems like we should feel sorry for Leo, and hate and complain about Fiat's personality, but actually, Leo is just as problematic as Fiat, he's also been a source of hurt to Fiat for so long. The same way in season 1, Type was to Tharn, and Tharn was to Type at the beginning when he didn't know what Type went through. The beautiful thing is seeing how love changes these characters, how needing each other makes them finally become who they're meant to be and how they finally get to their end; confident, happy and satisfied. And we the audience are part of this, we end up crying, and never wanting to let go of the show.  Let me show you how:
Tumblr media
Tharn Type and Pufai vs Leo Fiat and Type dilemma
Ah yes, I'm sure you've seen the similarities and mirroring to Leo and Fiat with Tharn and Type in season 1 episode 4-7. The introduction of Pufai caused a massive problem for Tharn and Type and almost caused them to end everything. One because it was the most hurtful Type was to Tharn, and two because it was the only time Tharn almost gave up on Type. It's so interesting when you look at what was happening at that time, and then when you look at Fiat and Leo, you see the similarities on a different level. Let me explain;
Tumblr media
When Pufai shows up Tharn and Type are unofficial, they call themselves s*x friends, Type ensures Tharn that they're not in a relationship and he shouldn't overstep the line with it. Tharn as always is more believing that he can make Type agree to be his, and everything seems great at that time. Except then Pufai shows up, she's interested in Type and is precisely what he thinks is his type, he also is enjoying getting to know her, and he finds himself intrigued by her flirting with him. Type does not see any problem (though there's guilt) to flirting with Pufai because he's not dating Tharn, they're not official, they are just friends with benefits. Type keeps it a secret; he's seeing Pufai, but Tharn finds out and loses his cool, how could Type do this? Isn't he his? This leads Type to emphasise on the unofficiality of their relationship with a list of rules, they were never meant to be anything. Tharn is accepting of this at first because it's the only way he can stay with Type however the more Type gets close to Pufai, mostly planning to sleep and ask her to be his girlfriend, the more his heart shatters. Tharn proceeds to break down and cry about the futile love he has for Type. He has to move on, but he doesn't know how. Except, Type realises that if there are people like Pufai in his life, there'd be others for Tharn, he doesn't like that; Tharn is his, and so from here we see Type apologise, and TT become official to each other. Their relationship is now deemed unbreakable, no one else is allowed to break it, they've chosen each other as their person. You may be wondering why I have just repeated this whole storyline, but it's crucial, now read through this summary of Leo and Fiat and try and find out why:
Tumblr media
Leo and Fiat are friends, but not really. They've been close to each other for 10 years. I say not really because everyone even we can tell there's more to them. Fiat is always trying to cross the line with their friendship; he ensures Leo knows he wants him to flirt and notice him. Leo ignores this and thinks Fiat is fickle and not serious. Fiat then proceeds to sleep with others, and flirt with others to take his attention from that. But each time that happens, he gets bored and returns back to Leo flirting and asking for his attention like a child. Leo is comfortable with this, as long as he's Fiat's main focus, as long as he's able to keep Fiat by his side, then what they have is excellent. Except Type shows up, he's Fiat's type, he's intrigued in getting to know him, and Type pays attention to Fiat more than others do, for Fiat, they have a connection, something feels warm and safe with Type, and wow he wants to pursue what he has with Type. Pause before episode 4 Fiat didn't know Type wasn't single, he just chose to be serious with Type before that, he fell for Type before that.
Leo is uncomfortable; this doesn't sit right for some reason, Type is actually important to Fiat and Fiat is not paying attention to him. Leo tells Fiat, Type is dating, Fiat brushes it off and says he still wants Type. Leo explodes, and Fiat ends up broken-hearted and hurt that Leo would kick him out. More shockingly, he unveils that the reason he's desperate to be with someone like Type is because; Surprise! Leo, and yet Leo isn't thinking about how he feels. Shocker. Leo returns and apologises and takes Fiat inside but now we the audience are confused? What does he mean by that? Why is liking Type for Leo? Why is Fiat so problematic, and why is Leo and Fiat's dynamic confusing?
Did you see the similarities?  Let's look at it differently. Let's give roles to Fiat and Leo as TT, who is more like Tharn in the Pufai arc and who is more like Type?
On the Surface and Personalities.
Tumblr media
Obviously, the first thing you look at is the designated Uke and Seme role. Who in this story on the surface so far is longing for the other, and who is acting like what they have doesn't matter and is problematic. Well, Leo is acting more like Tharn then. He's longing secretly and hurt because of Fiat's actions with other people, just as Tharn did with Pufai and Type, he's the one showing jealousy and fear of being left. He's not okay with the shift in their unofficial relationship and seems like he wants more. Like Tharn he looks perfect, protective and romantic than Fiat. He seems devoted and loyal like Tharn is to Type. And he's the seme just like Tharn. So he must be mirroring Tharn, right?
Tumblr media
And we have Fiat like Type his eyes wander, he's the one who's treating what he and Leo have as nothing, he's problematic and loud and stubborn and childish just like Type was in the arc. Type shouted, was rude, and even punched Tharn remember? He proceeded to keep being nonchalant towards Tharn's feelings because Tharn wasn't the one for him. After all, he was homophobic. Fiat is not homophobic, but he's spoilt, childish and selfish, he's an attention seeker, so he acts like a brat to get attention. When he has the attention, he takes people for granted, and he does things that are problematic for example he doesn't think it's wrong to stop wanting Type after finding out he's not single. Fiat is like because I want it I must have it. And Type was similar; not the same way (trying to ruin a relationship) but he was selfish and cruel to Tharn because he refused to acknowledge what Tharn wanted, he could tell it was killing Tharn, but he proceeded because it didn't mean anything or he was trying to convince himself that it didn't mean anything, he was just as bratty and childish as Fiat was when questioned about his choices. So yeh he's mirroring Type in this situation right?
Except still looking on the surface, mind you; let's look at the mindsets and psychological past of the characters and see who mirrors who here. Bare with me, let me explain.
On Background and Mindsets
Tumblr media
Let's look at the background: Tharn is used to getting what he wants, that's why when Type continues to reject him he keeps holding out hope it'll happen, he also is rich, spoilt and manipulative but in a more sneaky way. He knows how to guilt Type into feeling sorry, and he convinced Type to continue what they have. When he realises things aren't going his way, he mopes, rejects it but then goes back to Type until he can't take it anymore. I also want you to notice who ends up crying and heartbroken in this arc it's Tharn this is important for later.
Tharn also felt unlovable and always was seeking for someone to pay attention and stay by his side; he's the middle child who ended up having to grow quicker and be a tiny bit neglected, he also had his heartbroken from the previous relationships; he's always felt left behind, neglected and not taken seriously. Who does that remind you of? Fiat.
Although Tharn's family loved him, so he still ended up okay. Fiat is a worse version of Tharn; in this case, he was just as neglected but even graver because his parents paid no attention to him and only gave him material things (hence why he's spoilt and selfish), he realised that acting like a baby got him attention and what he wants;  that's why he's manipulative. He also felt not taken seriously by people, like people didn't get him. Even the person he cared about; Leo, who he was confident was someone he can rely on also made him feel neglected (because he kept ignoring his feelings). Fiat knows how to act like a baby to get Leo to bend to his will, but just like Tharn with Type in the Pufai arc, he doesn't think it's because Leo is 100 % devoted to him. It's also Fiat who ends up crying broken-hearted during this episode. I'll explain later.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Type is different, his mindset is shaped by his past. He doesn't think what he and Tharn could be is right, he's homophobic and determined to keep what they have unofficial. He doesn't want to cross the line, he keeps on pushing away Tharn's feelings refusing to deal with it seriously, and this is why he gets fixated on Pufai. He's desperate to avoid what he feels for Tharn, and he's desperate to keep his walls up no matter what because he's afraid to be hurt. It makes sense. As much as people don't yet see this, same as Leo. Type is protective of his heart, himself and his environment, Leo is the same, he doesn't think crossing the line with Fiat is right not because he's homophobic but because he thinks Fiat's feelings are fickle and not real; he keeps refusing to see that Fiat wants him because he's afraid showing Fiat feelings will make him bored and move on, and ruin their friendship. He's desperate to keep pretence that what they have is friendship, is defensive when people joke about him and Fiat and is repeatedly ignoring anytime Fiat tries to make a move. It's frustrating, and each time he does it, Fiat gets hurt even more.
Tumblr media
This is why he's on the stairs crying wondering if Leo ever actually thinks about how he feels in their situation. It's the same way Tharn thought about Type. Leo is determined to not seem vulnerable, in love or weak, he even pretends his selfless actions to Fiat has no meaning even when Fiat prods him for answers he refuses to tell him why he does all the things he does, he claims its because he wants to, he has to because Fiat is crazy, but we all know it's because of three simple words, he loves him. And Fiat has guessed and questioned that just as Tharn assumed that Type also loved him but wasn't ready to show it. Tharn stayed loyal and patient with Type until Pufai entered the picture. Fiat is the same, when Type shows up (a difference because Pufai was for Type) he's desperate to change his loyalties so he can stay by Leo's side without hurting and giving up, on them.
Basically, Fiat is doing what Tharn would have done if Type had not returned to him during Pufai arc, he would have started looking for someone else to take the pain away from not having Type. And Leo is like Type when Type realises he can't keep things unofficial because it means; others like Pufai could come to Tharn, he doesn't like that, and he proceeds to cross the line with Tharn. Leo is becoming that way, the way Fiat wants Type is starting to no longer be a meaningless thing he can avoid, he's beginning to realise that their unofficial status, he so desperately tried to keep has no hold or control over this situation, he's still learning, but soon he'll realise being vulnerable is the only way to remedy this, but he might be too late.
So on the surface, you see how these two mirror each other? Let's look at this even more further. The unofficial list that Type sent Tharn is the same as the determination to keep things unofficial Leo has with Fiat. It's more unspoken, but it's the same rules without the sleeping together aspect. Leo is okay with Fiat being with others as long as they're not interfering with what he and Fiat have.  Leo is okay with them cuddling and being close and doing things for each other but never crossing that line.  Leo has the role as Fiat's person to everyone, he's the protector, most intimate relationship and the designated 'boyfriend' role to Fiat as long as no one tries and label it. Leo is okay with certain rules and understandings about what he and Fiat have, like rules, and as long as Fiat and others don't try and label it, it shouldn't be an issue. It's the same way as Type.
Tumblr media
Duality and Differences of Opinion
The difference here is Leo isn't chasing after someone else, he's not the one with the Pufai. Fiat is. Leo isn't being cruel to Fiat by proceeding to find someone else the way Type does, but he's still doing the same thing Type does to Tharn with or without another person. He's still invalidating Fiat's feelings, he's still preventing the line from being crossed no matter how much Fiat tries, he's still defensive when it comes to others seeing them as more than friends, and he's adamant that what Fiat is saying he's feeling is not right, it's just Fiat being Fiat, and it's not going to last, it's the same way Type thought about Tharn's feelings.
Fiat may be the one who seems like the one invalidating the relationship, but it's actually more complicated than that. In Leo's perspective, he's Tharn; he's the one with the unrequited love, the one with the person who doesn't take his feelings seriously, who sleeps with others cruelly without taking account his feelings, the person he's had to stay loyal and patient with because he's devoted to him entirely.
In Fiat's perspective? He's Tharn, he's the one who's been trying years to cross that line with Leo, he's the one who has been waiting for Leo to take him seriously, he's the one who has to try and search for others to ensure that he's distracted by his rejected feelings so he can keep being by Leo's side, he's desperately searching for someone else like Leo, so he doesn't keep hurting secretly by his invalidation of what they have. For Fiat, he's the one who's loyal, patient and devoted to Leo ultimately; everyone can see it, he even lets Leo know how he feels.  But also it's the reason why he keeps on acting spoilt and bratty; it's all for Leo's attention and love. It's the only time Leo shows him affection. Everything Fiat does is for Leo. He wasn't being dramatic when he said it in this episode. So why is he falling for Type then?  What's the deal with Type then?
Tumblr media
The importance of Pufai
To understand why Fiat wants Type. You have to again return back to the surface similarities he has with Type in season 1. You have to look at why Type decided to give a relationship with Pufai a go despite knowing he had Tharn. The reasons why Type wanted Pufai:
She was right for him
She was his type
She intrigued him
He liked talking and being with her
Let's break this down and compare it to Fiat then:
Tumblr media
The right person for him
Type thought Pufai was right for him. One she was a girl, and he was finally relieved he found a girl he liked, someone who was just as into him, as confident and flirty as him, and he wanted that about her. She also showed him she had similarities to him, she mentioned the type of food he liked and found they had a lot in common. She was an ideal girlfriend. For Fiat, Type is not right for him because of the same reasons, but because he found someone who was just like him. Remember Fiat reminded Type of a younger him; Type was inspirational to Fiat, he also was someone who paid attention to him and showed him care and nurture when others didn't understand him. Type showed him the same kind of patience Leo showed him, but he also called Fiat out, and Fiat liked that. He could tell he and Type were similar, and it made him feel safe and happy when he was with Type. Type also was the person who was helping him deal with the fact that he couldn't play basketball, he was involved in the process of healing and assisting Fiat to become stronger to return to his passion. Fiat found that as another reason for why Type was right for him. Finally, there was someone else other than Leo who made him feel comfortable, happy and was determined to help him get to his passion. Type replaced the empty space Leo left when he went to Italy. Fiat embraced that and became obsessed with it.
His Type
In case it's not apparent his type are people who aren't afraid to call him out. People who make him calm down. Remember Fiat liked that Leo was able to be someone who helped deal with his emotional crisis, someone who was able to keep him in control, he trusted and appreciated who he was with Leo. Type reminded him of Leo, just like Leo paid attention but also made sure to scold Fiat whenever he took things too far;Type did the same, Type managed to tame Fiat by just speaking to him and calling him out on why he was throwing tantrums. Type is also good looking, and mature (same as Leo) and calm. We know he isn't generally like this, but this is how he appears in front of Fiat, and Fiat likes that about him. Plus Type is a quest. Or started off as a quest. Type had his walls up remember to Fiat? He was confused why he wasn't giving in to his manipulations, or his charm like others will. The other person who had walls up and didn't give into Fiat's charm was you guessed it, Leo. So Type is a similar copy of Leo to Fiat, someone who makes him excited, giddy, but also someone he can't win over easily. The idea of the chase also ensures that for the first time, he won't be easily bored, he'd always be distracted if he chooses to chase after Type.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Intrigue and Needs
It's that chase that kept Fiat intrigued and wanting to know more about Type. For Type Pufai fascinated him because she did not shy away from him, she flirted and was direct to him. Also, she intrigued him because at that moment, he was dealing with intense internalised homophobia and confused feelings. He was starting to be scared of falling for Tharn, for the way he was feeling for Tharn and how it was beginning to consume him despite his need to try and ignore it.
Fiat is the same. Fiat was falling for a futile relationship. Not falling; was already addicted and attached to the idea of a hopeless relationship that was hurting him. He was realising how much it was becoming a problem for him to be without Leo; it was killing him, and if you watch episode 2 again you can see how much Leo's absence was breaking him. He was realising he had to do something otherwise he would be forever stuck in this cycle. It would ruin the friendship he had with Leo.
Type was intriguing because he was the first person in so long that Fiat wasn't bored of, he was the first person that made Fiat want to do something, to forget Leo, the first person who distracted Fiat from his ache. So Type was like a cure he needed desperately, he needed someone to keep him in denial, to make him forget about the issue with the unofficiality with Leo, to make him stop resenting the fact that his feelings were invalidated. Type did that. It doesn't matter if Type has a boyfriend (the more the chase becomes intriguing for him) because Type is the first person he feels this way for. It has to be Type he chases after, it has to be Type who he ends up with because if not; his choice is to stay stuck in this painful cycle with Leo.
That's why he tells Leo it has to be Type, that's why he breaks down when Leo tells him it can't be because he was now sure he wasn't going to be able to keep being quiet and patient about what he had with Leo. The same realisation Tharn had in the bar with Type and Pufai, it had to end. But for both Fiat and Tharn, the idea of losing their person was a damaging thought, they didn't know how to cope with. Hence Fiat was desperate to find a solution for him; it was Type.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Talking and Being with him
That's another thing Type found out with Pufai, he liked replying to her texts, their flirtations made him smile, and he enjoyed speaking to her despite being in love with Tharn. Fiat is the same, he smiles just at the thought of seeing or talking to Type. He likes learning, and seeing that Type is a good person. He enjoyed observing Type, and how he acted, but also he liked the conversations they had, their discussions were deep even if people don't want to acknowledge it. Type's first conversation with Fiat was about how he understood what he was feeling and how he knew why he was acting the way he was. It was vulnerable, it was inspiring it was deep, not surface level. And Type also opened up to Fiat this episode, about his stress, burdens and others.
Their conversations are actually interesting and important, and they both help the other feel better. It's why Type is okay with showing Fiat attention (despite how he acted when he was angry and stressed) he sees Fiat like a little brother, a version of his old self. And Fiat sees Type as a role model, someone to look up to and learn from and be with. That's why he liked talking to him. But Leo is the person who Fiat loves the most to discuss with, to be with and to stay with. But when Leo can't be an option, Type is a perfect replacement, distraction and copy.
Tumblr media
How Pufai affected TT
Tharn: He broke down and tried to accept it, but he was broken-hearted. Similar to Fiat breaking down at the Futility of what he and Leo have. He realised like Tharn there was no way to get over Leo if it's not Type. Hence his determination that it must be Type even if he has kids or a boyfriend.
Type: She made him think others could do the same to Tharn. If he got with her; Tharn would be free to sleep around and find someone else. This is why he runs back; meanwhile, Leo is also finding this out slowly the more Fiat falls for Type. If he doesn't show ownership of Fiat, then he's free to do what he wants.  Leo knows that, and he's afraid because he also can see that Type isn't like others to Fiat, Type is a replacement for him. That's what he was angrier about; not Fiat saying Type had a boyfriend, but he'll still chase him, he was mad because this was more serious for Fiat than he wanted it to be.
Tumblr media
That's the difference with TT and LF. Type realised that Tharn was the one once he couldn't sleep with Pufai, once he realised what he wanted was Tharn. Leo knows what he wants but refuses to let himself be vulnerable, refuses to try and cross that line and keeps finding excuses why he and Fiat are friends. Fiat is like Tharn; patient, sulky and devoted, but he's also different to Tharn because he had a different environment with family. Fiat is what Tharn did before Type if you remember:  he slept around with people desperate to find the one and be loved. Unfortunately, he got bored, left and hurt each time he returned back to his situation and the permanent realisation that Leo was his person. It was futile he wouldn't be able to get over him. Tharn at that moment had given up on the idea of finding love, so seeing Type, he was determined to make it real no matter what. Same as Fiat just not the same way, for Leo he was determined to make it stay the same no matter what so he was determined to find someone else no matter what.  If Fiat didn't try to find a way to move on from Leo, he would end up being Long in season 1, he'd be angry and upset and manipulative and determined to ruin whoever tried to be with Leo. But the reason why he tried to move on was that he didn't want to be resentful of Leo, he tried to find a way to stay by his side without breaking each time he did. That's why he's determined it must be Type.
Tumblr media
Oh wow. The way I'm obsessed with these two couples dynamic, the way I live every Friday to see more, to uncover more, to know more about them. I live for this trope. I keep repeating it. But it makes me appreciate Mame's genius so much, I know it's forbidden to praise her as a writer. Still, when it comes to TT, Mame is a gift, she's incredible. She ensures that her characters are written with so much depth, and intrigue, their love is so deep it transcends everything, it makes everyone lose their minds, it makes everyone want to keep on watching and obsessing over the stories when she reveals the truth. Fiat and Leo are her reveals and plot twist this season. They're incredible. I hope people see why I love this show so much. I hope it stays this way until the end.

The way everyone is going to only focus on one side of Fiat and hate him instead of looking at him through his own point of view, if you listen to what he says, how he acts, certain nuances you’ll see he’s a villain yes but there’s no one dimensional thing about him, his own mindset has been this way because of his environment, his perspective on how people view him and how he gets his way (by being a child spoilt and manipulative), and also you see his most vulnerable truest self when he’s with Leo, that’s the real Fiat the one who’s crying on the stairs. It may seem like a child whining and crying and being spoilt but he’s broken hearted and exhausted about his feelings for Leo being so futile, about the fact he can’t move past the line Leo keeps drawing with him, about the fact that he can’t also have Type someone else who’s making him forget and move on from Leo, about the fact that he’s frightened when he’s without Leo, he’s scared that he’s a burden to Leo but he doesn’t know what to do he relies on him so much, he needs him and he’s willing to push away his feelings for him as long as Leo is by his side but for Leo to have a go at him when he’s trying so hard to find a way to forget him for him to call him shameless when the reason he’s being adamant on Type is to protect his friendship with Leo, it was a lot for him and it broke his heart when Leo told him to get out. He’s being a spoilt child but if you’ve had unrequited painful rejected love for someone for years it breaks you that’s why he was breaking down. Leo just sees it as a tantrum he’s just crying because he was shouted at like a kid but it’s not that it’s so much more than that to him but like always Leo and everyone else sees it as him just being a child, his feelings aren’t serious etc. It’s sad I feel bad for him and I understand why he’s going to be our villain. People expecting him to be more moral he’s being spoilt his whole life, he’s not felt loved properly by his family and feels neglected so he acts even more spoilt, he’s always had to beg for attention, and this has made him selfish, manipulative and childish. Is it right? No but it’s understandable. I love to see another flawed character who’ll learn and grow by the end of this show. Just like Tharn and Type did by the end of S1. Before that he will be worser I have to see what else Leo does before he starts to actively chase after Type cause right now he’s not yet doing anything apart from pictures (creepy but it makes sense he has a crush). So yeh Fiat is flawed but so is everyone let him grow and learn.

don’t say no to me episode 0 first thoughts
This episode was basically just flashbacks as exposition to set up the plot but honestly I only watched TT2 for Leo and Fiat’s relationship so it was a treat for me. But then the torturing Fiat scene came up and I remembered that bitches are a bit toxic. Yes yes they have some codependency issues and Fiat definitely has some abandonment and attachment issues but like that’s from trauma and the boy needed some actual help. His actions aren’t justified by me saying this but Fiat is basically a child with issues compared to a a more stable Type.
I have gotten off track; to summarize this point, Leo definitely shouldn’t have gotten off so easy with what he did. But with Fiat having his whole issues it’s easy for him to forgive the only person that has cared and been good to him. I enjoy seeing the two together because it’s sweet but I always have a thought niggling in the back of my mind that they could be doing better such as Fiat actually getting help and Leo supporting him in that as he always has. The one line where Leo actually references the title, ‘then don’t say no to me?’ may be nothing but it definitely raised a red flag for me. Perhaps I’m looking too deep into it but for me the line just didn’t sit right with me. I’ll keep watching to see what goes on anyways.
Also they 100% have a D/s dynamic that I think should be discussed between the two but is that not too much to ask for when it comes these types of these shows? Complex sexual conversations? One can hope.
